The students created a questionnaire to get feedback on their documentary from their class. Most respondents indicated that the topic, voiceover, music, and flow of the documentary were good. However, nearly half were not interested in the magazine article about the documentary. In response, the students redesigned the article based on further audience feedback. A new survey showed that 14 out of 15 people liked the new article design. The feedback helped the students realize issues with sound levels and overuse of one interview. They learned to spend more time on sound and use more clip variety in future projects.
1. 3.) What have you learned from
your audience feedback?
2. Class Questionnaire
In order to gain some feedback for our pieces,
we devised a questionnaire and asked our A2
Media class to review our products. As the
students had completed the same task we had,
we felt they were effective critics. However,
some responses may have been based on
sympathy, so we used further feedback
methods to ensure accuracy of answers.
3. This is our questionnaire. We handed it
out to our class and asked them to
answer it during and after viewing our
products.
We included questions on each product,
but mainly on the documentary as this
was the main task. We included both
open and closed questions to get a range
of answers and to enable the audience to
give their own feedback on it.
We included a question at the end asking
the audience if they had any suggestions
regarding improvement of any of our
products. This will help us to realise
where we went wrong and what the
target audience would’ve preferred we’d
done. This will help us in any future
projects of this nature.

response to this, we remade the

ensure it would cater more to the
audience's preferences.

No with a further survey using the new

6. Conclusion
From our results, we can conclude that our
documentary was fairly well received. The
feedback helped us realise that there were
problems with the sound levels sometimes and
that we focused too much on one interview
throughout our piece. With this in mind, in
future we will spend more time checking sound
levels and use more of a variety of clips to keep
the audiences interest throughout.
