1. When we showcased our documentary to the
rest of our media class we asked them to fill
out a questionnaire to gain feedback on
whether our documentary was effective or not.
We asked a series of mostly closed questions
with sometimes a extension of their response.
As our classmates are in the margin of our
target audience their responses were valid.

We asked if they would consider watching our documentary outside of
college and 90% which is a majority of the class said they would which
was a good sign however 2 members of the class said they would not
have considered watching it. This shows our topic doesent interest
everyone and this could be due to them not being interested in higher
education.
5. Does Our Documentary Relate To You?

We also asked if our documentary related to them and 65% said it did which
we expected as a media is a creative subject many of the students in our class
would consider themselves as creative however the other students may not
really find the perception of creative and academia as current issue but
definitely understood the meaning of our documentary.

We asked if the combination of audio and visuals worked together effectively
100% of the class said yes and this was definitely a strong point in our
documentary as we ensured the background music went with our theme and
suited the mood with whatever is on screen.

We also asked if the documentary was informative 12 students said it did inform
them of something new which included the statistics and views of the students
however 8 said it did not inform them so I personally think this may have been an
area where we could improve on this could have been by putting statistics up on
screen so maybe the audience could’ve absorbed the information a little more.

as a majority found that it did have typical charactersitics such as the timing.

We also asked if our radio trailer was attention grabbing and 95%
said yes and 1 student disagreed. In my opinion this small
percentafe that dissagreed was due to preference but as a large
amount of the class found it attention grabbing there was very
little more we could do to improve as I tried to make it to the best
of my ability.

We asked if they sound levels were consistant. 3 students said no
however 17 said yes therefore a majority found that the sound levels
were consistent. This was quite a hard job and there is always room for
improvement as all the clips used were recorded in different
environments and some had hiss whereas others had very little or none
at all. Also the sound of the radio trailer may have sounded different in
speakers compared to the sound of it in headphones. But with the sound
levels I think we did a good job.
12. Are the Effects Used Appropriate For The Radio?

No
17, 85%
We used one effect on the voice at the end of the radio trailer which was
called radio effect as we wanted it to portray the sounds of the radio and
an effect at the start which was the start of a radio channel. 85% liked the
effect and thought it was appropriate some found it to abrupt. In the
future we could have turned it down or reduced the pass filter on the
radio effect.

disagreed however 19/20 student said it does look
professional. We looked at professional articles of this genre
and found a similar layout with a plain white background so it
didn’t look to amateur but looked very realistic and clean.
15. Is The Style Of The Double Page Spread Appropriate To It's Genre?
5%
yes
no
95%
95% of students in our class thought the double page spread was appropriate
to its genre. This was because we looked at professional double page articles
in the tv times and radio times magazines therefore we was able to make our
documentary similar and realistic.
16. Would Seeing/Reading this Encourage You To
Watch The Documentary?
20%
yes
no
80%
80% said reading our Double page spread would give them a sense of
encouragement towards watching our documentary. However 20% said it
wouldn’t we could have improved this by maybe making the pictures
brighter and more eye-catching or use of a brighter colour scheme.
