Police Officer Requirements
Police officers have been in the news and spot light a lot lately for how they have had some sort of
misconduct on how they reacted in a certain situation. Which made me wonder if police officers go
through enough physical and educational training and if we need to raise the minimum requirements?
I think police officers go through a lot of educational training before they even get to be on duty.
Before even getting hired as a police officer you go through a lot of interviews that will get you kicked
out of the program if you answer wrong. Even though they would be more educated, could handle
situations better, and not be in the news so much for misconducted, police officers go through enough
training with their police academy we shouldn t change the requirements
The minimum education requirement to be a police officer is a high school diploma or a GED. Which

There would be a lot of police officers who would either be grandfathered into the new system if we
changed it or they would have to go back to school to get their degree. I think if we changed the
requirements to be a police officer it would turn away more people from the job and the job itself isn t
exactly a dream job in the first place. You don t get paid that well, and you are also in harms way all
the time. I am not sure why but there is a lot of hate for police officers so you have to walk around
knowing you are a target because you are in a police uniform. I had a conversation with Gus Wessel
NIC s school resource officer and he said his least favorite part about the job is walking around I try to
be as safe as I can be but no matter how safe I am I can never be safe enough. (Wessel) There is not
exactly a lot of people running up saying that they want to be a police officer so I think if the job
requirements changed there would be even less people that would want to be a

The Man Who Killed Hurting People By William Golding
William Golding was born on the nineteenth of September in 1911, in Cornwall, England. His mother
fought for women s right to vote and his father was a schoolmaster (Biography.com Editors). In his
early life he attended Marlborough Grammar School. Around the age of twelve he tried to write his
own book, but of course he did not succeed. William said that he often bullied his peers as an outlet
for his frustration; I enjoyed hurting people was his response when he was asked how he would
describe his younger self. After Marlborough Grammar School William went to Brasenose College at
Oxford University to study literature. His very first work, a book of poetry, was published one year
before his graduation from Brasenose College (Biography.com

Nazi Concentration Camp And Gulag Research Paper
Nazi concentration camps and Gulags brought together various connections of fellow prisoners, there
were men and women, Jews, Germans, Russians, and several other diverse groups of people
contained. I will be focusing on female prisoners in both Nazi concentration camps and in the Gulags,
identifying particular aspects of living situations in both camps and prisons, and also analyzing
women s perspectives of the circumstances they were forced upon. Women suffered from continuous
dehumanizing conditions, which included vicious rape, discriminatory murder, and endless
embarrassment. I will be exposing women s physical and biological concerns during their time in the
Nazi concentration camps. We can look at men and women sharing their tragedies ... Show more

There was nothing about the camps overall structure that would prevent interaction between men and
women. This meant that sex was inevitable in the Gulags, sex was a source of pleasure and resistance,
however, it was also exchange for protection, rations, and better food. Women used their sexuality to
better their living situations in the Gulags; they were able to have a sense of sexual autonomy. They
could choose to use relationships with men to negotiate power dynamics and limit the harshness and
isolation of daily life. With intimacy taking place in the Gulags there was often a chance of conceiving
a child, pregnant women in the prison were not often forced to have abortions but they were forced to
raise their child in a difficult environment. In Hava Volovich s memoir she describes the horrible
conditions her baby girl was delivered in, She was born in a remote camp barracks, not in the medical

Hyper Chaotic Systems
HYPER CHAOTIC SYSTEM: Nowadays the application of the hyper chaotic system is becoming a
hot topic in the field of chaos .The hyper chaos was first reported in Rossler 1949[].The dynamics of
the system expand in more than one direction and generate a much more complex attractor compared
with the chaotic system with only one positive Lyapunov exponent, which is observed in( Rech et
al).It is characterized as sensitive to initial condition and control variables, pseudo randomness and
ergodicity which meet the requirement of confusion and diffusion properties explained by
Shannon[].As the hyper chaos has two positive Lyapunov exponents, the prediction time of a hyper
chaotic system is shorter than that of a chaotic system[S. Yanchuk et al.,2001], as a result, it is safer
than chaos in security algorithm. As the hyper chaos has larger key spaces than chaos used in some
previous work such as Refs. [2,3,20], is more secure against brute force attack Image encryption
algorithm based on hyper chaos Focus on security issues: This section represents some of the previous
works based on hyperchaotic system. The image encryption algorithm based on hyper chaos proposed
by (Tiegang Gao et al.,2007) and image encryption based on improved hyper chaotic sequences
introduced by (Congxu Zhu.,2011). The core idea of this image encryption scheme (Tiegang Gao et
al.,2007) is based on total shuffling matrix using the Logistic map, and the substitution of the shuffled

Functions Of Currency Exchange Markets
1. Explain 4 functions of currency exchange markets. Provide a thorough example (real or
hypothetical) of each type of function in action in business.
a. Currency Conversion: is a way to execute a transaction by converting one currency into another.
This takes place when you/your company decides to invest in international affairs. When engaging in
a foreign investment you must convert your US dollars into the foreign currency when making a sales
and the opposite would happen if the country was buying a product from you.
i. For example, Sanofi Aventis, a French pharmaceutical company, wants to sell a new medication for
diabetes to the United States. The American customer wants to pay for the medication in dollars, the
American currency, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The payment date is shortly approaching and Toyota Motors is now concerned about the value of the
payment in Japanese yen a month from the payment date, they want to ensure against the possibility
that the pesos value will fall over that period and receive less money. On December 16th, Toyota
Motors establishes a contract with a local bank to exchange the payment in one month at an agreed
upon exchange rate specified on December 16th. Now Toyota Motors will know how many yen the
payment will be worth on January 16th.
c. Currency Arbitrage: is the instantaneous purchase and sale of a currency in different markets for
profit. This type of currency exchange market is frequently used by experienced traders in foreign
exchange markets, along with large investors. Using this type of exchange market maximizes oyur
profits and allows you to evaluate three currencies at a time and brings the market into an equilibrium.
i. For example, as you are investing in the New York Stock exchange you notice that the Malaysian
ringgit is lower in Greece than it is in New York. As a trader you can buy riggits in Greece, sell them
in New York, and earn a profit on the spread. Now the process of this trade is not worth making if the
spread between the value of the riggit, the value in Greece and the value in New York is not greater
than the cost of conducting the transaction. ii. Interest Arbitrage: is a profit motivated purchase and
sale of interest paying securities

The Lion And The Wardrobe Christian Analysis
At the age of nine, Clive Staples Lewis experienced a tragic death which made him no longer believe
in God. For the next 24 years, he felt as if Christianity was a myth. After talking to J.R.R Tolkien and
Hugo Dyson at four in the morning, Lewis transformed back into a Christian because they persuaded
him it all was the truth. Soon after that conversation he became a children and Christian author. Lewis
created The Chronicles of Narnia to represent an allegory of multiple stories in the Bible. In his novel
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Lewis uses the archetype of the hero to represent Jesus, and
the symbol of the Stone Table to take place of the cross, which conveys Christianity in the novel.
Throughout the novel, the creatures of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After giving himself up to save others, Aslan was taken to the stone table to get muzzled, kicked, and
tortured; he was abused to his death. Gleghorn says, But that s not the end of the story. Early the next
morning, as the sun peers over the horizon, the Stone Table cracks in two and Aslan is raised from the
dead. He s conquered death through an even Deeper Magic, unknown to the Witch. Aslan came back
to life to save Narnia from the White Witch. Even though everyone thought he was dead, he came
back to life as Jesus rose from the dead in the Bible. As stated in the Bible ...Jesus cried out again in a
loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was town in two from top to
bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split (King James Version, Matthew 27.40 51). Lewis uses the
Stone Table to recreate the resurrection of Jesus after his death on the cross. Once the veil was torn
Jesus was resurrected and it created a gateway for all Christians to go to heaven after death. Lewis
puts Aslan on the Stone Table to take place of Jesus and his resurrection after being tortured on the
cross, then makes Aslan save Narnia as Jesus saved us by dying for all our

All Men Are Not Created Equal Summary
As a woman I have always thought that all men were superior to women in a society viewpoint. Black
men superior to black women, Hispanic men superior to Hispanic women, and of course, white men
superior to, well, all women, especially women of color, and men of color. However, when reading the
article All Men Are Not Created Equal I had realized that Asian men are significantly inferior to Asian
women in western society. I never really thought about the imbalance until just today, reading the
article despite having always seen it in my day to day life. I really enjoyed how the author, Yen Le
Espiritu, focused on the historical reason as to why Asian women are seen as more valuable in western
society than Asian men. I, of course, had learned about Chinese and Japanese immigration and the
Japanese internment in my high school history class, but I was never taught the societal and family
issues that these events had sparked. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet, Asian men had been stripped of their masculinity and power in the household, causing many of
them to become violent, depressed, or both. Not only was society working against Asian men in a
classist perspective, but it was/is also tearing them down in a sexist regard by not allowing them to be
the breadwinner of the household, like their white counterparts. It was especially interesting to me
how these two articles overlapped into a particularly engaging observation of not only the social issues
of men, but specifically the immense social issues of Asian men. However, one thing I would have
wanted the author of All Men Are Not Created Equal to elaborate on would be current Asian male
status and social

Creative Response To The Hindu Creation Myth
Creative Response to the Hindu Creation Myth
How were we created? How was the universe created? What happens after we die? These questions
are some of the most important questions that we still have yet to answer. Religion helps explain their
perspective about these questions and give elaborate stories to share amongst generations. These
stories are collectively known as myths. I have decided to choose the Hindu creation myth because I
thought it has a unique response to most of these questions compared to other religions. I chose to
make a sculpture because I thought it would be the most elaborate and picturesque way to explain this
complex myth. In this response, I will summarise the Hindu creation myth into a paragraph, then

A large serpent drifted across this ocean with Lord Vishnu sleeping within its endless coils. From
within the ocean, a sound began to quiver and began to fill all the empty space with throbbing energy
called Om . As the night drifted away, Vishnu awoke at the break of dawn and a lotus flower grew
from his navel. In the centre lied Vishnu s servant, Brahma. Vishnu commanded Brahma to create the
world. Brahma lifted his arms and calmly created the ocean and wind. He then splits his lotus flower
into three segments. One third was stretched to create the Heavens, the other two were formed into the
Earth and Sky. The Earth was then given grass, plants, flowers and trees and gave them a sense of
feeling. Shortly afterward, he created animals, fish, insects and birds. Brahma gave them the power to
see, hear and move. However, once the day has come, Lord Shiva will perform his sacred dance of
destruction and end all life and destroy absolutely everything except for Brahma. After this, Lord
Vishnu shall call upon Brahma to create the world again. This repeats itself over and over again. We

elusive concept that is gaining popularity amongst financial consumers. Over $5 billion in Bitcoin and
other decentralized currency are currently in circulation. However, how many people actually

Speechnow. Org V. Federal Election Commission Case Study
In a court case in 2010, Speechnow.org v. Federal Election Commission, the ability to spend virtually
limitless money on an election was given under first amendment protection. With this ruling, Political
Action Committees, or super PACs, have become tremendously influential when it comes to elections.
Unlike regular PACs, these super PACs cannot directly donate any raised money directly to this
political candidate. While these parties can not directly donate this raised money, and must be
independent of the candidate they support or oppose, there is a huge debate of the unclear line
involved with who can be a part of these super PACs. For example, Obama had his Republican
challenger and former aides of his office supporting his super PAC. ... Show more content on

Candidates such as Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are surrounded by money. This will allow for
easy unlimited funding from the citizens who agree with their views and will benefit from them

This will allow wealthy individuals to make a much more significant impact on elections. While old
PACs had a cap on how much could be donated by individuals, while prohibiting organizations and
companies from donating, these new isolates super PACs can receive unlimited donations. A major
company may decide to spend a few million dollars to support a specific candidate if it could return

importance on money in the election, and less on debates and views. This is shown in the current
election, with two of the candidates being some of the biggest financial influencers in the United

Biological And Environmental Causes Of Homosexuality Essay
According to the American Psychological Association (2013), science has shown that the causes of
homosexuality are generally related to the biological and environmental factors. There are a wide
range of environmental factors, such as sociological and psychological, and various genetic factors
that contribute to homosexuality, and though researchers agree that it is caused between a relatively
complex interchange between nature and nurture, they favor the biological models for its cause.
Biological models, such as theories and studies that explains sex linkages, chromosomal patterns and
genetics clearly explain such phenomenon.

brothers who identified as gay than did non lesbian females. This and subsequent additional findings
that women compared to men who identify as homosexual were more likely to have sisters as well as

can cause homosexuality in women than in men. Pillard pointed out that if genetic factors contributed
to the development of homosexuality, it must be more frequent than expected in members of the same
family. However, if this was found to be the case, it would not be enough proof that it was due to a
genetic factor, as it could result from other factors, such as different methods of families,
psychological, physiological, and psychological. This was that up to forty percent of men and women
who identified as gay or lesbian in a newspaper survey stated they had not revealed this identity to

What Is Foolishness In A Midsummer Night s Dream
Science has proven that emotions can make one behave foolishly. Emotions over power our senses
and cause the human brain to make irrational decisions. As seen in the play Mid Summer Night s

Dalton Conley Social Inequality
Social inequality can practically be made apparent at any moment of someone s life whether at work
or school amongst peers or simply watching the news in the morning. According to Dalton Conley,
social inequality is narrowly defined as a condition in which a difference in wealth, power, prestige, or
status based on nonnatural conventions exist (2017 p.241). Moreover, social inequality is a process
whereby society can determine how a class of people is expected to coexist within predetermined
social, political, and economic boundaries. The affected class will live within the predefined
constraints, and the affected class will then pass the predefined constraints on to future generations. It
is imperative to understand that social inequality is a result of social stratification, which according to

Although most people in the United States of America do not live in an upper class household, this
term is often correlated with income, wealth, power, and prestige. In fact, approximately one percent
of the U.S. population is considered to fall in this stratum (2017 p.260). Nevertheless, the middle class

Essay on Parkinson’s Disease and Action of Drugs on Movement
Parkinson s Disease and Action of Drugs on Movement
Introduction:
Parkinson s disease is a neurological disorder that seriously impairs motor function, with people
afflicted with this condition exhibiting akinesia, muscle rigidity and having a tremor at rest. It is
accepted that the loss of motor function is brought upon by the progressive degeneration of
nigrostriatal dopamine neurons, which leads to a corresponding loss of dopamine in the
caudate/putamen part of the basal ganglia, which is accepted as the main receiving area in motor
circuits. Information coming to it from the cortex and thalamus is processed and channeled to the

Aside from functioning as a neurotransmitter, dopamine is also the precursor to noradrenaline in all
central and peripheral noradrenergic neurons. Dopamine is made from the precursor Tyrosine which is
converted to DOPA by the enzyme tyrosine hydroxylase, and DOPA is then converted to dopamine by
the enzyme dopa decarboxylase. This enzyme has a much higher activity in comparison to tyrosine
hydroxylase so under normal conditions there is little or no endogenous DOPA found in most cells.
The first line of treatment for a patient is to replenish their dopamine stores, which have diminished
due to loss of dopaminergic neurones. As dopamine cannot cross the blood brain barrier it is of no use
to simply administer dopamine, instead its precursor L DOPA is given. This is able to cross the blood
brain barrier upon which it is then converted to dopamine by aromatic amino acid decarboxylase.
However L DOPA can also be converted to dopamine in the periphery, which can cause unwanted
effects and so to prevent this a decarboxylase inhibitor is given. Not only does this reduce adverse
effects but also lowers the effective dose.
Dopamine is rapidly taken up into storage vesicles by an energy dependent transporter mediated
process, achieving high local concentrations within the storage vesicles by complexing with

Symbolism In Alley By The Lake By Leonid Afremov
Differences Do Not Define Relationships
In Alley by The Lake by Leonid Afremov the most prominent technique that he uses is symbolism. He
uses this to help his viewers see the perspective that he sees. He uses different approaches that the
viewer sees subconsciously, one major approach is through his use of color. These properties procure
an attachment to the couple that is the focal point of the piece. In Alley by The Lake Leonid Afremov
depicts the harmony of a couple s relationship and personalities symbolically through well picked
objects specifically the couple, the trees, and the lights.
Avremov uses the cool colored man and the warm colored woman to grab and pull the corresponding
colors schemes together in the center through the couple. The settings on either side of the painting
stick to their specific color scheme. When Afremov swaps the trend in the center of the painting it
creates the focal point. The couple has a man depicting the dark color on the left side of the painting
instead of the right. This is where all the other dark blue colors are at in the painting. The same pattern
is followed for the woman, she finds herself on the cool side of the painting instead of the warm side
which corresponds with the color shown on her dress. This ties the people to their corresponding
colors. It also helps depict their personalities through the corresponding colors. Like the woman
having the orange red color and it being connected to the idea of her personality being outgoing and
friendly. This is proven by her connection with the abundant trees and lights. There is also a
connection with the dark colors on the man and the right side of the painting. This connection is that
the dark colors create an idea that he is sad and depressed. This is depicted through not only the colors
but also through the sole dying tree and the lights. It also gives the idea that even though these two
people are different in their personalities and lives, they somehow found a way to connect to each

Why did Canadian working class struggle between fascism and democracy, this left wing and right
wing ideology? The answer exist in the social and economic condition they had to face, the Canadian
working class, although Canada industrial sector and economy has had many time seen economic
depression. The economic depression, which started in 1929, ten years after the world war two ended.
What was different about the depression, which began in 1929, was more severe, larger in scale and

Canada reached 30% few years after 1929 economic depression started. This started to cluster more

Curcumin In Preventing Heart Disease
Heart Disease
Turmeric has two very distinct healing traits, the first is prevention by infusing the body s systems
with natural nourishments to thrive and the second it enforces and fights the infection and cause for
the heart abnormalities. Curcumin has the ability to reverse progressive heart disease by improving the
arterial endothelium or what we know as the inner lining of the blood vessels associated with the
heart. It helps to relax these vessels and acts as a blood thinner, so the blood flows easily through the
vessels normally, eliminating chest pains, and improving blood pressure, combined with exercise it
can be very effective in preventing heart attacks.

Clark Accomplishments
Beginning on February 9, 1779, Clark and his men embarked for Vincennes 240 miles away through
the now flooded region. The major faced a test of morality as the company trudged through frozen dirt
and in freezing waters. In the rain, the troops sung to keep high hopes and when they were close
enough to the village, Clark had to post a riflemen at the rear to encourage the tired individuals (Davis
98). Their ambitions rose when they captured an Indian hunting canoe carrying buffalo meat, corn,
tallow, and kettles. After devouring their finds, the unit made it the final miles within eyesight of Fort
Sackville on February 23(Davis 99). The Kentuckian Major promptly entered the village and took the

If financial institutions are to obtain significant yields, then foreign markets can be a valuable remedy

be selected from five suitable countries, then analysed regarding prospects that can enable the

Lastly, the national taxation rules do not discriminate against foreign firms. Government tax
authorities also comb tax declarations that operate within the country with the intentions of controlling
the offshore shell corporations to shelter assets and profits from taxation. I am of the opinion that this
candidate country is efficient for BFSI since it can be among the first Foreign Developing Investors

prospects, yet it lacks adequate FDI s. The second country that the BFSI should prefer is Qatar. Even

Walt Disney Impact
Walt Disney, and his company s, history with urban planning had an unexpected start. Disneyland s
Main Street, U.S.A., among one of the amusement park s more ambitious lands (and one close to Walt
Disney s heart), inadvertently acted as a model for urban planning at the time of its opening and for
years to come. While Tomorrowland was actually set in the future, it was Main Street, U.S.A. that first
served as the model for real cities in designing their downtown and entertainment areas. The land
successfully blended a small town like setting with amenities often found in large cities, even in its
small scale, and became a basis for the most exhaustive park at Walt Disney World: EPCOT Center
(and later, simply Epcot). The impact of urban planning at Epcot is seen immediately, as unlike the
lands and other theme parks at Disney World, there is no entrance. This seems like a minor detail, but
it has the effect of a record scratch, in that it breaks away from the ... Show more content on

quite figure out how to let go of his old ideals and move completely into the future, with his initial

The Pros And Cons Of Human Reproduction
Reproduction is an important function for the survival of all living things. Some species reproduce
asexually and other species reproduce sexually. Human reproduction, however, involves sexual
intercourse between a man and a woman. For many years humans were only able to procreate through
sexual intercourse; although with the recent advancements in medicine and technology, humans are
now able to conceive a child in other ways. Those who cannot or who do not want to conceive through
sexual intercourse have options to conceive a child through IVF (In vitro fertilization) or AI/ IUI
(artificial/intrauterine insemination). IVF is a procedure in which a female s eggs are extracted and
fertilized with sperm in a lab. When the fertilized eggs have developed into embryos, it is implanted in
the uterus. AI/IUI is a procedure in which sperm from a donor or partner is directly inserted into the
uterus through a catheter. These alternatives to become pregnant were considered unnatural and
outlandish , because of the engagement of the newly assisted technology and the lack of human
intimacy. Today the methods are widely accepted by most of society and are commonly used. Yet,
questions were raised when Dolly the Sheep became the first mammal to be cloned. It begged the
question whether if it was possible to clone humans, and if be morally right to have human cloning as
another means of reproduction. We will explore the complexity of human cloning in the case of a 34

Is there a better sight in sport than an underdog summoning the form of his life against all odds to

Pakistan Super League (PSL) pitting the Peshawar Zalmi against Quetta Gladiators on February 19
was so satisfying. It had enough drama and plot twists to appease the most demanding punters. The
PSL is a resounding success for a whole range of reasons, but to me, the last 20 minutes of this game
encapsulated what is means to be a cricket fan in Pakistan and how international fixtures are poorer
for not playing to packed stadiums in Karachi, Lahore or Rawalpindi. As fortunes seesawed in the
homestretch, unsurprising since both Zalmi and Gladiators were easily the best teams through the
tournament, cameras cut to rapt audience members revealing why the PSL is here to stay. In a Dubai
Cricket Stadium heaving with emotion, a sizable number of patrons had their hands clasped in earnest
prayer as both teams duked it out in the middle. You would be forgiven for thinking this was an India
Pakistan contest given the enthusiasm! The Gladiators eventually pipped Zalmi by a single run and
their success came courtesy of right arm quick Aizaz Cheema s brisk jog up redemption road. Leading
up to that magic final over, Cheema had dished out a series of indifferent half trackers and low full

Sir Isaac Newton s Laws Of Motion
Introduction
Sir Isaac Newton s laws of motion are three laws which provide relationships between the forces
acting on a physical body and the motion of the body. They were first compiled by Sir Isaac Newton
in his work Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica, published on July 5th, 1687. These laws of
motion are composed of three laws: Inertia, F=ma, and equal and opposite forces. These laws explain
and give reasons for the motion of all objects. In everyday life friction is all around us. In this
experiment the effects of friction will be studied, and friction is the resistance that one surface or
object encounters when moving over another. Friction is caused in part by Newton s First Law of
Motion: Inertia. The law of inertia states that an object at rest will stay at rest unless acted upon by a
force. It also states that an object in motion will continue to travel at the same speed and in the same
direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.
1.1 Balanced and Unbalanced Forces
A balanced force is when forces cause no loss of speed on an object, for example a car encountering
the same force of wind resistance as its force of acceleration will continue to travel at the same speed.
If a force is unbalanced, the car would either slow down if wind resistance increased or acceleration
decreased and it would speed up if wind resistance decreased or acceleration increased.
1.2 Gravity
Gravity is another factor affecting friction. Gravity, Newton said, is a force

Toxic Leadership in Law Enforcement Essay
Abstract Toxic leadership, likely found in all agencies at some point, and the general awareness of
toxic leaders with whom individual officers have worked, makes this a real problem for law
enforcement agencies. Knowing the root and cause of this type of leadership helps develop
understanding on the part of those that can effect a change in leadership within an agency.
Comprehending the methods by which such environments develop and their negative impact on the
agency as a whole via individual officers experiences, opens the doors on hidden collusion that

issues (Wilson Starks, 2003, p. 3). While the toxic leader may, at first glance, appear to be a
productive member of the agency, due to his/her own self promotion, the agency and subordinate
officers lose ground through the toxic leader s efforts to control.
Turf Building Turf building is the act of creating an area within the assigned work profile viewed as
belonging to the toxic leader. By controlling access to information and tools, by selected subordinates
and other supervisors, the toxic leader creates an area where only he/she can succeed. Such actions are
undertaken for the sole purpose of self aggrandizement on the part of the person in charge; with the
desired result that they are seen as the keeper of the knowledge or the solver of the problem.
Consequently, this often creates an impression with the leader s supervisors that he/she is the
irreplaceable element, or the go to guy and can be justifiably depended upon to handle this area, thus
creating an agency sponsored sense of expertise. Furthermore, this confirms to the toxic leader that the
path they have chosen, and the method they have employed is the best choice; thus, actions taken in
self interest are now perceived by the toxic leader as serving the interest of the agency.

Conclusion
In conclusion, our current resource allocation does not meet the deadlines of June 30, 2012 and we
have offered a few of our own solutions to alleviating these drawbacks. We have established that the
facility specialist rang up approximately 662hrs in our initial number crunching diagnosis, and were
able to balance that out with a secondary facility specialist. As we have pointed out before, we will
increase costs by doing this, but the costs outweigh the potential for not meeting our primary
deadlines. Attached is a list of the tasks that would be associated with the Facility Specialist which
would have him completely over allocated, from helping to select an architect, to installing equipment,
we do need the expertise but as a manager we have to mitigate the risk involved with over extending
someone s human capabilities. As we continue to plan this endeavor, we will uncover many things that
may need to change and hopefully with this pre planning we were able to reduce the amount of
changes we will make later. Thank you.

Summary Of Harm De Blij s Why Geography Matters
Harm de Blij s book, Why Geography Matters poses a central theme, which I have heard discussed
multiple times. Blij argues that the American public is the most geographically illiterate society in the
world. Blij blames this decline with the poorly formulated curricula in the American school systems,
which ultimately originates from Washington D.C. and the people that run this country. If I had never
seen this central theme in action in a classroom I would have been dumbfounded. In one short
paragraph Blij summarized how America s illiteracy began, which this then becomes the central theme
of his book that relates to the educational field. Blij writes that professional educators took control of
the system and combined the subjects of history, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As every day passes China grows stronger in every aspect and eventually they will be knocking on
America s doorstep in each of those categories. Economically, China is closing rapidly, but even the
sleeping giant as Napoleon Bonaparte called it, has its limits. To be blunt, China is resource hungry
and who knows what their country will do next. With the level of nationalism that their people have,
China could go in multiple directions. For example, let us look at both China attempting to exert
control over the South China Sea and also with the Senkaku Islands. Both of these areas are becoming
more and more hostile, which ultimately could lead to deadly military engagements. With that being
said, Blij also proposes an argument that I have been pondering for a while and that is a potential cold
war between the U.S.A. and China. On the outside it seems as if there is a potential collision course to
that conclusion. However, Blij does offer an interesting solution to this possibility and it is one that I
believe should be the strongest takeaway. Blij suggests that trade, scientific, cultural and educational
links and exchanges can be the solution to this issue. After all, China is responsible for many of the
essential aspects to our life. Therefore, the least we as Americans can do is learn the various
geographical aspects that encircle

A paper studied the effect of Msx1, Msx2, and Dlx5 (Distal Less Homeobox 5) overexpression on

Lying Is Unneccessary and It Can Hurt You
Lying that you didn t eat the last cookie from the jar can t compare to the lies that some important
people have told. Lying is a crime. Time, money and care are stolen because liars were able to fill
people s heads with false information. It is not fair to the people who believe these unpleasant lies.
Yes, it is but a lie can be disrespectful, hurtful and dangerous. However, what happens when a lie is
told and revealed? It is too late to actually tell the truth. By the time you are about to explain it,
everyone is already mad and disappointed at you. What if we turn it all around? What if the superhero
is already there to the save day? No one needs to signal them or cry to let them know that there is a

Analysis Of Randy Maddox s Visit The Poor
Randy Maddox s article in Transformation 18:1, Visit the Poor , explores social ministry in John

The Great Artists Of The Conceptual Art Movement
When one thinks of Art the most popular image is of great works, famous for their visually pleasing
and intellectually rousing qualities. These works, aside from being visually and intellectually
stimulating, have been used to challenge and encourage an audience to think about what it s
representing in flexible and open minded ways, this is usually done by shocking the audience out of
their complacency when viewing artworks. The great artists of the Conceptual Art movement
especially emphasised this by focusing more on the concept behind a piece than the art itself. Three
particular artists that are famous for challenging audiences with their work include Marcel Duchamp
(1887 1968), Jenny Holzer (1950 present) and Ai WeiWei (1957 present). Even though these three
artists are part of different times, countries, political and cultural movements, they all use their works
to confront and challenge every part of their audience including critics, the media and the general
public.
Marcel Duchamp is widely considered as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, his
early works saw him in the Post Impressionist movement however his want for art to be in the service
of the mind saw his move away from that style of art. He was a French, sculptor, painter and writer
whose work is associated Dada and with being the precursor to conceptual art. Duchamp spent nearly
his whole art career challenging his audiences to think about what art really is. His critical

Dependent Personality Disorder ( Dpd )

Dependent Personality Disorder (DPD) according to the The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of
Mental Disorders (5th ed.; DSM 5; American Psychiatric Association, 2013) is categorized under
cluster C in personality disorders exhibiting traits of anxiety and fearfulness. Criteria specifies that an
individual demonstrates significant deviation in behavior and life experience according to a person s
cultural norms in at least two of the following areas: impulse control, interpersonal functioning,
affectivity, and cognition. Moreover, the disturbance must originate from at least adolescence,
exhibiting a prolonged history of consistent indicators across a variety of life circumstances. This

More significantly, eighty one percent of women experiencing multiple abusive relationships
demonstrated PTSD and higher psychopathology compared to women experiencing a single abusive
relationship.
Personality disorder symptoms are higher among violent women and female offenders arrested for
domestic violence continue to rise in number (Goldenson, Geffner, Foster, Clipson, 2007). Male
offenders were found to have history of attachment, trauma, and features of personality disorders.
Bornstein (2012) found negative consequences of dependency in incarcerated men with charges of
child abuse into the following categories: (a) nonsexual offending psychopaths; (b) sexual homicide
perpetrators; and (c) nonviolent pedophiles.
Although many dependent clients prefer to use passive, submissive social strategies, most dependent
clients are capable of using more assertive, outward expressions of anger, and destructive strategies
when key relationships are at risk (Bornstein, 2012). Moreover, DPD has been linked with increased
risk of self harming behaviors such as suicidal gestures causing harm to themselves and others
(Bornstein, 2012). More women made previous suicide attempts than the men, and women were more
likely to have used or to be using psychotropic medication (Goldenson, Geffner,

A Metaphor for the Dimensional Concept of Home Essay
Movement is only as good as the stillness you can bring to it to put it into perspective. Leslie T. Chang
s travel narrative Factory Girls not only: exonifies the discussion, but is also a metaphor for the
multidimensional concept of home. Chang considers many perspectives but chooses to only focus on a
select few all of which bring contrasting and often immiscible arguments only to initiate an vision
inward of Chang s own development and ultimately an emulsified concept her readers can resonate
with. Chang s writing speaks a lot of the contrast between the village immigrating girls leave from and
the city they arrive in. She defines them as two separate an immensely different places before we can

At one point in the narrative, a girl is quoted as having had 6 hours of sleep and only wishing she
could use less [citation needed] that she should fill her days not only with the work that so often went
into overtime but that every waking moment should be spent improving herself, moving forward not
spent in retrospect or thinking in hindsight. Their home is constantly improving, each piece being
assembled as they move forward. Furthermore, newer migrants have looser ties to their villages [105]
when Qianqian s story is told within the confines of the super factory Yue Yuen people seemingly

Yuen was a good place to work but it took all [the girls] strength to break free. [107]. Those who
worked in the super factory either redefined their sense of home or grew accustomed to never seeing it
again. Department of English and Humanities Asst. Professor G Serwani Venkata Swamy writes that
home is in a sense, a place of no return in the sense of a geographical location but also a livid

Measuring The Ability Of Correctly Recall Different...
The primary outcome in the current study was measuring the ability to correctly recall different
character sets that included similar or dissimilar distractor tasks. To test this hypothesis, the number of
correctly recalled character sets were analyzed by a 2 (character set: consonants vs. digits) X 2
(distractor task: word based vs. number based) between subjects ANOVA. The main effect for
character sets was not statistically significant, F(1, 106) = 1.16, p = .284, ηp² = .01. The main effect
for distractor tasks also produced non statistically significant results, F(1, 106) = 1.0, p = .758, ηp² =
.001 . Lastly the interaction effect showed a non statistically significant result F(1, 106) = 1.22, p =
.271, ηp² = .011. Descriptive statistics for these data can be found in Table 1. The secondary outcome
in the current study was measuring the perceived difficulty of learning the character sets, and having
to recall them with a similar or dissimilar distractor task. Using a 2 (character set: consonants vs.
digits) X 2 (distractor task: word based vs. number based) between subjects ANOVA to analyze the
perceived difficulty of the character sets and distractor tasks. The main effect for character set
difficulty also showed a non statistically significant main effect F(1, 106) = .000. As for the main
effect for distractor type, a non statistically significant result was reported F(1, 106) = 3.06 p = .337,

James Hurst s Short Story The Scarlet Ibis
Imagine having a brother who is incapable of doing anything for himself. James Hurst s short story
tells the tale of a young boy in this position and the way his mindset is. In the short story The Scarlet
Ibis, James Hurst uses imagery, setting, and motif to convey Brother s feelings of guilt. By using these
literary elements, Hurst allows the readers to take a deeper look into Brother s perception towards
Doodle at the time.
Hurst uses imagery to show how Brother feels guilt for causing Doodle to die. I ran as fast as I could,
leaving him far behind with a wall of rain dividing us. Brother remembers when Doodle says Brother,
Brother, Don t leave me! Don t leave me! Brother feels guilt for leaving Doodle once before. When
Brother runs away from Doodle, he is not actually running away from him, he is running away from
the guilt which Doodle causes him to feel. Brother looks at Doodle and feels guilty for leaving him at
a time of trouble before. Hurst uses the rain as a way to symbolize guilt and sorrow. What are you
crying for They did not know that I did it for myself, that pride, whose slave I was, spoke to me louder
than all their voices. In this scene, Hurst shows the guilt in this scene using imagery by showing us
Brother crying. This is Hurst s way of showing us guilt. When Brother cries, it is because he feels
guilty of his motivation. His only reason for helping Doodle was because he was ashamed of having a
crippled brother .

Service autonomy is the term used to describe a service which is sel sufficient in terms of managing
all the necessary logic, resources and environment and which is independent of external devices.
 Business Driven Infrastructure on demand
Using service orientation for the infrastructure provides a way to define dependencies of higher level
business services on the lower level infrastructure services, dow to the actual physical resources, such
as network appliances, storage, and servers.
 Service Management
Service orientation defines service level objectives as well as the measurement of the delivery of those
objectives.
CONCLUSION: Service Oriented Architectures are rapidly being accepted by the IT world as a
sound, modularized approach for building and deploying services across the extended enterprise.
Practical extension of these architectures requires careful planning. The SOA is mainly implemented
with web services. In this paper I have tried to explain the so many things about service oriented

  • 2. Police Officer Requirements Police officers have been in the news and spot light a lot lately for how they have had some sort of misconduct on how they reacted in a certain situation. Which made me wonder if police officers go through enough physical and educational training and if we need to raise the minimum requirements? I think police officers go through a lot of educational training before they even get to be on duty. Before even getting hired as a police officer you go through a lot of interviews that will get you kicked out of the program if you answer wrong. Even though they would be more educated, could handle situations better, and not be in the news so much for misconducted, police officers go through enough training with their police academy we shouldn t change the requirements The minimum education requirement to be a police officer is a high school diploma or a GED. Which I think ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There would be a lot of police officers who would either be grandfathered into the new system if we changed it or they would have to go back to school to get their degree. I think if we changed the requirements to be a police officer it would turn away more people from the job and the job itself isn t exactly a dream job in the first place. You don t get paid that well, and you are also in harms way all the time. I am not sure why but there is a lot of hate for police officers so you have to walk around knowing you are a target because you are in a police uniform. I had a conversation with Gus Wessel NIC s school resource officer and he said his least favorite part about the job is walking around I try to be as safe as I can be but no matter how safe I am I can never be safe enough. Hyper Chaotic Systems HYPER CHAOTIC SYSTEM: Nowadays the application of the hyper chaotic system is becoming a hot topic in the field of chaos .The hyper chaos was first reported in Rossler 1949[].The dynamics of the system expand in more than one direction and generate a much more complex attractor compared with the chaotic system with only one positive Lyapunov exponent, which is observed in( Rech et al).It is characterized as sensitive to initial condition and control variables, pseudo randomness and ergodicity which meet the requirement of confusion and diffusion properties explained by Shannon[].As the hyper chaos has two positive Lyapunov exponents, the prediction time of a hyper chaotic system is shorter than that of a chaotic system[S. Currency Conversion: is a way to execute a transaction by converting one currency into another. This takes place when you/your company decides to invest in international affairs. When engaging in a foreign investment you must convert your US dollars into the foreign currency when making a sales and the opposite would happen if the country was buying a product from you. i. Now Toyota Motors will know how many yen the payment will be worth on January 16th. c. Currency Arbitrage: is the instantaneous purchase and sale of a currency in different markets for profit. This type of currency exchange market is frequently used by experienced traders in foreign exchange markets, along with large investors. Using this type of exchange market maximizes oyur profits and allows you to evaluate three currencies at a time and brings the market into an equilibrium. i. For example, as you are investing in the New York Stock exchange you notice that the Malaysian ringgit is lower in Greece than it is in New York. As a trader you can buy riggits in Greece, sell them in New York, and earn a profit on the spread. Now the process of this trade is not worth making if the spread between the value of the riggit, the value in Greece and the value in New York is not greater than the cost of conducting the transaction. ii. • 7. The Lion And The Wardrobe Christian Analysis At the age of nine, Clive Staples Lewis experienced a tragic death which made him no longer believe in God. For the next 24 years, he felt as if Christianity was a myth. After talking to J.R.R Tolkien and Hugo Dyson at four in the morning, Lewis transformed back into a Christian because they persuaded him it all was the truth. Soon after that conversation he became a children and Christian author. Lewis created The Chronicles of Narnia to represent an allegory of multiple stories in the Bible. In his novel The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Lewis uses the archetype of the hero to represent Jesus, and the symbol of the Stone Table to take place of the cross, which conveys Christianity in the novel. As stated in the Bible ...Jesus cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was town in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split (King James Version, Matthew 27.40 51). Lewis uses the Stone Table to recreate the resurrection of Jesus after his death on the cross. Once the veil was torn Jesus was resurrected and it created a gateway for all Christians to go to heaven after death. Black men superior to black women, Hispanic men superior to Hispanic women, and of course, white men superior to, well, all women, especially women of color, and men of color. However, when reading the article All Men Are Not Created Equal I had realized that Asian men are significantly inferior to Asian women in western society. I never really thought about the imbalance until just today, reading the article despite having always seen it in my day to day life. I really enjoyed how the author, Yen Le Espiritu, focused on the historical reason as to why Asian women are seen as more valuable in western society than Asian men. Aside from functioning as a neurotransmitter, dopamine is also the precursor to noradrenaline in all central and peripheral noradrenergic neurons. Dopamine is made from the precursor Tyrosine which is converted to DOPA by the enzyme tyrosine hydroxylase, and DOPA is then converted to dopamine by the enzyme dopa decarboxylase. This enzyme has a much higher activity in comparison to tyrosine hydroxylase so under normal conditions there is little or no endogenous DOPA found in most cells. The first line of treatment for a patient is to replenish their dopamine stores, which have diminished due to loss of dopaminergic neurones. As dopamine cannot cross the blood brain barrier it is of no use to simply administer dopamine, instead its precursor L DOPA is given. This is able to cross the blood brain barrier upon which it is then converted to dopamine by aromatic amino acid decarboxylase. However L DOPA can also be converted to dopamine in the periphery, which can cause unwanted effects and so to prevent this a decarboxylase inhibitor is given. Not only does this reduce adverse effects but also lowers the effective dose. In Alley by The Lake Leonid Afremov depicts the harmony of a couple s relationship and personalities symbolically through well picked objects specifically the couple, the trees, and the lights. Avremov uses the cool colored man and the warm colored woman to grab and pull the corresponding colors schemes together in the center through the couple. The settings on either side of the painting stick to their specific color scheme. When Afremov swaps the trend in the center of the painting it creates the focal point. The couple has a man depicting the dark color on the left side of the painting instead of the right. This is where all the other dark blue colors are at in the painting. The same pattern is followed for the woman, she finds herself on the cool side of the painting instead of the warm side which corresponds with the color shown on her dress. This ties the people to their corresponding colors. It also helps depict their personalities through the corresponding colors. Like the woman having the orange red color and it being connected to the idea of her personality being outgoing and friendly. This is proven by her connection with the abundant trees and lights. There is also a connection with the dark colors on the man and the right side of the painting. This connection is that the dark colors create an idea that he is sad and depressed. This is depicted through not only the colors but also through the sole dying tree and the lights. It also gives the idea that even though these two people are different in their personalities and lives, they somehow found a way to connect to each other. These connections are seen in the actions they display towards one another. They are close together as well as linking arms. This gives the viewer a picture of how close they are because of their physical positions. They are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Disneyland s Main Street, U.S.A., among one of the amusement park s more ambitious lands (and one close to Walt Disney s heart), inadvertently acted as a model for urban planning at the time of its opening and for years to come. While Tomorrowland was actually set in the future, it was Main Street, U.S.A. that first served as the model for real cities in designing their downtown and entertainment areas. The land successfully blended a small town like setting with amenities often found in large cities, even in its small scale, and became a basis for the most exhaustive park at Walt Disney World: EPCOT Center (and later, simply Epcot). Human reproduction, however, involves sexual intercourse between a man and a woman. For many years humans were only able to procreate through sexual intercourse; although with the recent advancements in medicine and technology, humans are now able to conceive a child in other ways. Those who cannot or who do not want to conceive through sexual intercourse have options to conceive a child through IVF (In vitro fertilization) or AI/ IUI (artificial/intrauterine insemination). IVF is a procedure in which a female s eggs are extracted and fertilized with sperm in a lab. When the fertilized eggs have developed into embryos, it is implanted in the uterus. AI/IUI is a procedure in which sperm from a donor or partner is directly inserted into the uterus through a catheter. It had enough drama and plot twists to appease the most demanding punters. The PSL is a resounding success for a whole range of reasons, but to me, the last 20 minutes of this game encapsulated what is means to be a cricket fan in Pakistan and how international fixtures are poorer for not playing to packed stadiums in Karachi, Lahore or Rawalpindi. • 29. Sir Isaac Newton s Laws Of Motion Introduction Sir Isaac Newton s laws of motion are three laws which provide relationships between the forces acting on a physical body and the motion of the body. They were first compiled by Sir Isaac Newton in his work Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica, published on July 5th, 1687. These laws of motion are composed of three laws: Inertia, F=ma, and equal and opposite forces. These laws explain and give reasons for the motion of all objects. In everyday life friction is all around us. In this experiment the effects of friction will be studied, and friction is the resistance that one surface or object encounters when moving over another. Friction is caused in part by Newton s First Law of Motion: Inertia. The law of inertia states that an object at rest will stay at rest unless acted upon by a force. It also states that an object in motion will continue to travel at the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. 1.1 Balanced and Unbalanced Forces A balanced force is when forces cause no loss of speed on an object, for example a car encountering the same force of wind resistance as its force of acceleration will continue to travel at the same speed. If a force is unbalanced, the car would either slow down if wind resistance increased or acceleration decreased and it would speed up if wind resistance decreased or acceleration increased. 1.2 Gravity Gravity is another factor affecting friction. Turf Building Turf building is the act of creating an area within the assigned work profile viewed as belonging to the toxic leader. By controlling access to information and tools, by selected subordinates and other supervisors, the toxic leader creates an area where only he/she can succeed. Such actions are undertaken for the sole purpose of self aggrandizement on the part of the person in charge; with the desired result that they are seen as the keeper of the knowledge or the solver of the problem. These works, aside from being visually and intellectually stimulating, have been used to challenge and encourage an audience to think about what it s representing in flexible and open minded ways, this is usually done by shocking the audience out of their complacency when viewing artworks. The great artists of the Conceptual Art movement especially emphasised this by focusing more on the concept behind a piece than the art itself. Three particular artists that are famous for challenging audiences with their work include Marcel Duchamp (1887 1968), Jenny Holzer (1950 present) and Ai WeiWei (1957 present). Even though these three artists are part of different times, countries, political and cultural movements, they all use their works to confront and challenge every part of their audience including critics, the media and the general public. Marcel Duchamp is widely considered as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, his early works saw him in the Post Impressionist movement however his want for art to be in the service of the mind saw his move away from that style of art. He was a French, sculptor, painter and writer whose work is associated Dada and with being the precursor to conceptual art. Personality disorder symptoms are higher among violent women and female offenders arrested for domestic violence continue to rise in number (Goldenson, Geffner, Foster, Clipson, 2007). Male offenders were found to have history of attachment, trauma, and features of personality disorders. Bornstein (2012) found negative consequences of dependency in incarcerated men with charges of child abuse into the following categories: (a) nonsexual offending psychopaths; (b) sexual homicide perpetrators; and (c) nonviolent pedophiles. Although many dependent clients prefer to use passive, submissive social strategies, most dependent clients are capable of using more assertive, outward expressions of anger, and destructive strategies when key relationships are at risk (Bornstein, 2012). Moreover, DPD has been linked with increased risk of self harming behaviors such as suicidal gestures causing harm to themselves and others (Bornstein, 2012). • 46. Measuring The Ability Of Correctly Recall Different... The primary outcome in the current study was measuring the ability to correctly recall different character sets that included similar or dissimilar distractor tasks. To test this hypothesis, the number of correctly recalled character sets were analyzed by a 2 (character set: consonants vs. digits) X 2 (distractor task: word based vs. number based) between subjects ANOVA. The main effect for character sets was not statistically significant, F(1, 106) = 1.16, p = .284, ηp² = .01. The main effect for distractor tasks also produced non statistically significant results, F(1, 106) = 1.0, p = .758, ηp² = .001 . Lastly the interaction effect showed a non statistically significant result F(1, 106) = 1.22, p = .271, ηp² = .011. Descriptive statistics for these data can be found in Table 1. The secondary outcome in the current study was measuring the perceived difficulty of learning the character sets, and having to recall them with a similar or dissimilar distractor task. Using a 2 (character set: consonants vs. digits) X 2 (distractor task: word based vs. number based) between subjects ANOVA to analyze the perceived difficulty of the character sets and distractor tasks. The main effect for character set difficulty also showed a non statistically significant main effect F(1, 106) = .000. • 47. James Hurst s Short Story The Scarlet Ibis Imagine having a brother who is incapable of doing anything for himself. James Hurst s short story tells the tale of a young boy in this position and the way his mindset is. In the short story The Scarlet Ibis, James Hurst uses imagery, setting, and motif to convey Brother s feelings of guilt. By using these literary elements, Hurst allows the readers to take a deeper look into Brother s perception towards Doodle at the time. Hurst uses imagery to show how Brother feels guilt for causing Doodle to die. I ran as fast as I could, leaving him far behind with a wall of rain dividing us. Brother remembers when Doodle says Brother, Brother, Don t leave me! Don t leave me! Brother feels guilt for leaving Doodle once before. When Brother runs away from Doodle, he is not actually running away from him, he is running away from the guilt which Doodle causes him to feel. Brother looks at Doodle and feels guilty for leaving him at a time of trouble before. Hurst uses the rain as a way to symbolize guilt and sorrow. What are you crying for They did not know that I did it for myself, that pride, whose slave I was, spoke to me louder than all their voices. In this scene, Hurst shows the guilt in this scene using imagery by showing us Brother crying. This is Hurst s way of showing us guilt. When Brother cries, it is because he feels guilty of his motivation. His only reason for helping Doodle was because he was ashamed of having a crippled brother . ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
