Partisan Stratification
Partisan identification refers to the political party with which an individual identifies and political
socialization can be defined as the process by which people form their ideas about politics (Hershey
2016, pg. 127). Both of these terms are important for understanding how individuals identify with the
parties they do and how in doing so can affect both the perception of the candidate and the level of
participation. Political socialization often times begins during childhood; most parents do not
consciously indoctrinate their children into partisanship, but they are nevertheless the main teachers of
political attitudes. This early identification, according to Hershey, takes hold before children have
much information as to what the parties

Compare And Contrast Shanghai China
Shanghai, China blows away every other country throughout the world. The United States is seen as
pretty much average across the boards and frankly cannot even compare Shanghai. Shanghai, China
led the world as the highest scores in Math, Science, and Reading on the 2012 PISA test. Compared to
the United States is just under a 100 points from the U.S. in math, science, and reading. In math
Shanghai scored a 613, science score was 580, and lastly reading was a 570. The international average
in math is 494, reading is 496, and science is 501. As said in a previous paragraphs and seen in the
chart on page two the U.S. could learn a few things from a lot of other countries. Shanghai being at the

America on the other hand has a different curriculum in every state. Therefore in Canada students are
getting more of an equal education opportunity then students in America. An additional difference is
the training in teachers. The top 30% students are picked from each province. Then they are put into a
teaching program which is a challenging academic program. Teachers are very well trained in Canada
and held to higher expectation compared to the United States. Typically students must complete a
bachelor s of education degree or a bachelor s degree with an additional education certification in
order to teach at any level, (Canada 1). When it comes to the degree Americans need to get to become
a teacher Canada is pretty comparable. The starting salary for lower secondary school teachers in 2012
was $37,145; for upper secondary school teachers, it was $37,294. (Canada 1) People may think that
they do not make as much as other professions but within the first fifteen years of teaching they make

Executive Summary Established in 1892, Abercrombie amp; Fitch marketing strategy has always been
to target those between the ages of 18 and 22. A amp;F s gross sales have been $539 million in 2008;
however sales have dropped by 5% from the previous year due to the recession. In order for sales to
improve our marketing consulting team has developed an internal analysis, which identifies, assesses,

This accounts for an estimated 30% of total teen retail sales (Fayt, 2009).
Predict: Since consumers have less income due to the recession, and there is less demand, consumers
will look for discounts in order to continue to buy products. Since A amp;F has decided to keep its
prices steady, they may lose consumers and as result will have large financial losses.
Accommodate: A amp;F has lost too much in lost revenues due to its reluctance to give consumers
discounts so A amp;F will have to soon start giving small discounts to consumers if it wants to
maintain the amount of consumers it has and not have any large financial losses.
Human Resources
Identify: A amp;F tends to hire employees that fit its brand . These types of employees however, tend
to be college students who are young, attractive, white, male, and preppie (Avery, Crain, 2007).
Assess: A amp;F hires these employees since they feel they fit their brand image well and will help
sell the product better. However, those who apply and are of an ethnic minority or who are female may
be discriminated against.
Predict: This sort of discriminatory selection puts A amp;F at risk of a lawsuit for violating
antidiscrimination laws. If A amp;F does end up facing a lawsuit, it could hurt its reputation and cause
it to lose consumer support.

Desktop Hardware And The Computer
Desktop Hardware Would you know how to fix your computer if it crashed and started to
malfunction? What if some parts were not working? Knowing desktop hardware if you own a
computer is important. Say if one part of your computer is malfunctioning and you knew which part,
you could easily replace that part if it is able to be replaced. The parts of the computer could save you
money and time for yourself instead of purchasing a brand new computer.
Floppy disks store a small amount of information, less than a CD or DVD. One important detail about
them is that they are portable, meaning they are able to remove. Floppy disks are easily damaged
while they are also inexpensive and tend to have a more tendency to lag. Some computers still include
a floppy disk but they are not as popular as they once were around the mid 1970 s. (IBM) The sizes
are varied from as small as two inches to around 8 inches in size. Floppy disks were first developed in

My Goal For Both Immersion Activities
Immersion One
My goal for both immersion activities was to learn more about African American culture, experiences
and history. I hope that by educating myself that it will help to counteract the unintentional biases and
judgements that I have learned from breathing in the racist smog that prevails in our society. I chose to
watch Remember the Titans for my Immersion One activity. I thought this movie would accurately
show the experiences that African Americans have had with racism in the past in our country and that
they also still continue to struggle with today.
I have watched this movie countless times before but this time when I watched it was different than
before. I always knew it was obviously a movie about racism, but I never picked up on tiny parts of
the dialogue and certain scenes stood out as much more significant to me than they have in the past.
For example, at one point in the movie a brick is thrown through Coach Boone s window while his
daughter and Sheryl Yoast are playing in the living room. The next day, Coach Yoast is angry about
what happened. He accuses Coach Boone for it being his fault that the brick was thrown through his
window because of his sins . Coach Boone is very offended by this and points out that he did not do
anything to deserve it and also that maybe now Sheryl has an idea of what his daughters go through
every day of their lives.
This scene reminded me a lot of The Color of Fear and the conversation that Victor and David had

Comparing The Persistence Of Memory And The Great Day Of...
The Persistence of Memory, A Trip to the Moon, and The Great Day of His Wrath, all share scientific
context concerning theories that are still being debated today. In addition, each artist created an
interpretation of the scientific theories, whether they purposely made the work of art in the inspiration
of the scientific theories or it was suggested by a large number of viewers who saw the art. Each work
art demonstrates ideal and fantastical versions of these theories in dreamlike or nightmare ways. For
example, in all three artworks, the artists demonstrate the idealism of the parallel universes they create
while also creating the darker side of the fantasies. In The Great Day of His Wrath, Martin paints the
apocalypse. This is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They include fantasy properties by encompassing science with the improbable. For example in Dali s
The Persistence of Memory, he paints realistic, everyday objects in a strange pattern in an unusual
landscape, for example, it is improbable that clocks would be melting, and in a desert. But the idea of
time dilation is a probability, so Dali uses the improbable to explain the probable. This is the same for
A Trip to the Moon. Humans have always questioned the existence of extraterrestrial forms. In Méliès
film, it is improbable that the group of astronomers would be able to travel to space without the
consideration for the lack of oxygen in space. However, as scientists were focusing only on the
survival in space and the transportation there, Méliès focuses on the astronauts adventure on the moon.
He ignores the probable and approaches the existence of extraterrestrial life in a fantastical way by
interacting the astronauts and the moon dwellers. In Martin s painting, Martin envisions the
apocalypse straight out of the Bible. However, in the Book of Revelations, the only visual given is
through the text. It is most closely relatable to the text in Revelations 6. The text explores a few details
in the catastrophic sight, such as mountains falling. Martin takes this reference from the Bible and
combines it with his studies of dinosaur bones and fossils as a scientist. Martin could be combining
science with the improbable in this detail of the painting, but that depends on whether he believed God

America s Universal Healthcare Coverage
ca is able to find a political will to provide universal healthcare coverage, the rest of the world can
then show the way. This says to me that the United States must look within itself and make the moral
determination as to whether healthcare should be considered a fundamental right granted to all its
citizens as a theme of this book. Once addressed, the United States can join the other industrialized
countries who have long since implemented universal healthcare systems such as Germany, France,
United Kingdom, United Kingdom, Canada who have more cost effective systems which produce
better health outcomes than the US.1 Setting the focus outwards and learning from both the success

What seems to be the most consistent theme through this book is the authors approach in determining
the advantages and disadvantages within each system, which in itself creates a basis for comparison
for the US with each story relayed.6
Philosophy of the Book s Author The philosophy relayed by the book s author consistently leads back
to the moral question that must be asked in the initial design of the healthcare system. That
determination has to do as to whether the government has a duty to act when there are those within
their own country do not have equitable access to hospitals and doctors for the treatment of their
conditions.14 The most industrialized countries in the world have long since made the decision to
provide universal healthcare coverage, yet the United States still lags behind in this department. What
people of a country should expect and feel reassured of is that if and when they fall ill, they will
receive the proper care necessary to get better without the worry of being denied care or face
bankruptcy for doing receiving medical care.2 A country which does not make the moral
determination to provide universal healthcare coverage to its people such as the United States puts it

What Is The Theme Of The Ice Man By Haruki Mrakami
Essay on The Ice Man by Haruki Murakami Haruki Murakami was born in 1949 in Kyoto, a city in
Japan. He lived his life in a time and place, where traditions had absolute influence on people and
were very highly valued. This inspired him when he was writing his stories. For influence, he had to
read Western literature. In his works, Haruki Murakami shows that he supports the idea of more
freedom against traditions, but still presents the risks of choosing not to follow them.
Haruki Murakami supports freedom and this is shown in The Ice Man as when the woman decides to
marry the ice man, the idea that the love between them is important is more justified than the idea that
her family and she cannot explain the decision to others in an understandable way.
Haruki Murakami supports freedom, but still suggests that one should not go too much over the line.

There is a huge risk when rebelling. For sure, there will be a major change, but it is not certain in
which direction it will be.Traditions are valuable life, but this does not necessarily mean that they are
to be followed strictly, which is suggested in The Ice Man . Murakami has a background of living in a
time where traditions have taken control over thinking in Japan and he expresses his view in this story.
The Ice Man was as isolated and alone as an iceberg floating in the darkness. (Camus 212) is a quote
with very important meaning. First, all those ice metaphors are not so much about the iceman as a
being, but about how people see him and believe him to be. Secondly, darkness symbolizes his feeling
as icebergs usually do not float in darkness, but here, he feels lonely and even though he does not
show it, it is probably because he has developed to

Ginsberg And The Beat Generation
The Beat Generation was gleaned from the way we heard the world beat spoken on street corners on
Times Square and in other cities in the downtown city night of postwar America beat, meaning down
and out but full of conviction (qtd. in Beat) according to Jack Kerouac, a past American Beats
novelist. Kerouac expresses the aroma of melancholia that followed the end of World War II. In came
a sense of fear for the technological innovation made towards nuclear warfare. Because of this, the
years following became a time of conformity and artistic suppression. Poets like Allen Ginsberg
emerged from the shadows and started to shed a new light on the meaning of life and a free mind. This

Allen Ginsberg, one of the most innovative poets of the age, characterized his poetry as the desire to
be [...] in a time of apathy (Tytell, 313). Howl, Ginsberg s most esteemed piece of work, surprised the
majority of readers due to its vulgarity and explicit content. The urban settings across the United
States greatly influence beatniks in writing about the environment of post World War II. This new
mindset of free spirit allowed Ginsberg to explore new, but vulnerable subjects that may cause one to
cringe. The literary experience present in Howl allow[ed] an individual to discover his own
vulnerability, his humanness, without cowering (Tytell, 313). This was an important theme that
encourage artistic development in the midst of conformity and bleakness. In the first line of his poem,
he mentions how he saw the best minds of [his] generation destroyed by [the] madness (ln 1) of
materialism and pressure of technological advancement. The free spirited lifestyle that hipsters
promoted distracted many authors and writers into getting hooked on drugs, sex and alcohol, which
are main topics Ginsberg discusses throughout the poem. Through his writings, Ginsberg strives to
exorcise the shame, guilt and far that he [saw] as barriers to self realization and total being (Tytell

creative potency in an age of silence. For example, Howls presents a range of tones ranging from
severe anguish to uncontainable excitement. This literary aspect of his poems provided a way for
readers to retain the ability to feel in numbing times [...] in the face of materialistic culture (Tytell

The Importance Of Chlorinating Water For The Purpose...
Introduction:
The process of chlorinating water for the purpose purifying it, has only been around for just over a
hundred years. Although the process has been seen to have a great effect, in reducing the amount of
disease caught from drinking water (such as typhoid and cholera), it s been a heated debate for years.
The first case of water being disinfected on a mass scale, was done by a man named John L. Leal. Leal
was a physician by profession, but was thought by many to be a bit of a mad man at the time, because
of his idea that chlorine had the properties to disinfect water for drinking. It was thought at the time,
that if chlorine is poisonous when in a gaseous state, then what s to say that it s not poisonous when it
s added to water (creating calcium hydrochloride), which it was (reference 1).Leal spent years of his
life observing the effects were when very small amounts of chloride of lime was added to bacteria
filled water. He observed in more cases than not that the chlorine of lime in the water, ended up killing
almost all of the bacteria while leaving it at a similar PH level of water. During the year of 1908, soon
after Leal was given a job at the Jersey City Water Supply, and with the help of his friend George
Warren Fuller (an engineer). In complete secrecy they installed a chloride of lime feed facility at the
Boon Reservoir, which was the main reservoir for Jersey City (reference 1). Three months after he
committed this daring act, he was called to court

Raiders Of The Lost Ark Film Analysis Essay
Raiders of the Lost Ark The film Raiders of the Lost Ark was directed by Steven Spielberg in 1981. It
is the first film in a series of films that follow the adventures of archaeologist and professor Indiana
Jones. Some proclaim the Raiders of the Lost Ark is one of the best action/adventure movies of all
time. Since its release, the film has grossed $389 million worldwide and is ranked #40 on the top rated
movies list on IMDB.
Mise en Scene:
Raiders of the lost Ark takes place in 1936. When comes down to the settings, lighting, music,
costumes and the way everyone acts in this film, everything works together to get an overall feel that
the time really is the 1936. The costumes look like outfits people would really wear during that time
and the music sounds right for that era.
In the very beginning of the film, viewers see Indiana Jones walking through the jungle with some
men. Although his face is not shown for the first couple of minutes you can tell that the man in the
fedora is an important character. It s never specifically mentioned that it is a jungle but there are
animal noises and plants in the background. Also, the lighting looks natural almost as if the sun is
shining through a thick canopy of trees. All the men look a little tired and their faces and clothes look
dirty. From the way the music sounds and the way they all look you can tell that they are on some kind
of quest, searching for something for what seems like a while.

He talks about how they came together and helped each other as if they were family by providing

tend to need family to build on their strength, and without family you make new family. That is what
the Hiroshima people did. Who is better to build a bond with each other than people that are going
through the same turmoil? The Japanese people are stoic patriotic people. They did come together as a
community to assist each other but they suffered through their pain alone. They did not look for
sympathy or a shoulder to cry on. Mr. Tanimoto wrote in a letter describing how some Japanese died
without yelling out for help. He wrote, They died in silence with no grudge, setting their teeth to bear

Greed And Symbols In The Necklace By Guy De Maupassant
Although some people may think that material objects are essential in life, that s not always true.
When I was 12, I used to think that all I wanted was an iPhone because with it I would be able to play
games, but also call and text people in case of an emergency . I repeatedly asked my parents for a new
phone, but was always be turned down. It wasn t until my birthday I got one, but not longer after I
realized that it wasn t all that different from the phone I had before. Sometimes people think that they
want something because they will gain something or benefit from it, but they really just want it
because other people around them have it. Both greed and selfishness make people want material
items, while generosity can lead to just the opposite. Greed is one of the main reasons people feel the
need to have material objects, and The Necklace, by Guy de Maupassant is an example of just that.
Mathilde, the main character, valued luxurious items so that she could seem wealthy to others. When
her and her husband get invited to a formal event for work, she wishes to look as elegant as she can.
Although Mathilde didn t have a bad life, she still wanted more. She had no proper wardrobe, no
jewels, nothing. And those were the only things that she loved she felt she was made for them. She
would have so loved to charm, to be envied, to be admired and sought after (Maupassant 374). This
quote relates to how even though Mathilde probably did have a dress that would have been

The Campaign Of The Star Wars Expanded Universe Billboard...
Greetings everyone!
Talk about a busy week so far for the Star Wars Expanded Universe Billboard Project! We are thrilled

While I would love to stay on a positive note, as this campaign s administrator I feel obligated to
address some of the concerns and criticisms our campaign has received over the past three days. Those
being, that our efforts do not have the money nor the amount of people to cause the change we are

Next, consider that this campaign was run entirely by fans who, until this week, most of you have
never even heard of. Let s face it, most of you still don t know much about any one of the people
behind this campaign. So consider that, at the time of the fundraiser, people knew even less. What
guarantee was there that we would do what we claimed we would do? I know several within the
Expanded Universe Movement at varying levels of involvement were openly asking why they would
trust a crowdfunding effort headed by random people from within the movement. After all,
crowdfunding has had a rocky history at times. While our team did its best to reassure people that we
would install a billboard in San Francisco, we were unable to give the certainty that more well known
individuals would have been capable of giving. Too, we had our hands tied on even releasing the
location of the billboard during the fundraiser because of various threats and potential obstacles aimed
at our efforts.
Finally consider that our community on the internet is not all encompassing of every Expanded
Universe fan in the world. Someone had to purchase enough books to give all those legends stories
best seller status! So considering that, even our maximum reach, in the ideal time with everyone
having money to give and everyone believing we would do as we said, it still only represents a small

major tournament because it is the oldest championship, and it s the most prestigious event. Along
with its most talented golfers playing the highest ranked course contributes to the amazing history and
why this tournament is one of the greats.
What made golf so difficult back then was the poorly designed and constructed clubs and balls. The
balls were made of greatly compressed feathers wrapped with horse hide, which could only be hit
about ten times before tearing. Most of the club heads were from the wood of apple trees.Shafts were

The Core Beliefs Of The Anglo-Saxons In Beowulf
The core beliefs and the things the anglo saxons saw as important are clear throughout the story of
beowulf. The anglo saxons believed in strong loyalty to each other and to the leader. The anglo saxons
also had a pagan background and saw warriors as high members of society. All these beliefs and core
values are exhibited in beowulf.
Beowulf has a strong anglo saxon values sprinkled through it including a strong sense of loyalty. This
sense of loyalty shows up time and time again within beowulf. One of the most notable times loyalty
is brought up in beowulf is in The Last Battle. Wiglaf is the character used to show loyalty. Beowulf is
in a battle and his soldiers leave out of fear, Wiglaf decides that the most loyal and honorable thing to

The Cost Of Space Exploration In The United States
Space exploration negatively affects human society, and space in many more ways than it does
positively. The 15 U.S naval expeditions from 1840 1860 approached one quarter of the annual federal
budget, by far exceeding even the Apollo commitment. The U.S should not fond space exploration
because of the cost, the lives risked, and dangerous organisms coming to earth. There are many
contributing factors on why Space Exploration should no longer be legal. First of all, the cost of the
whole process is excessive. Although it is used on exploration, it can also be used to reduce the
amount of poverty in underdeveloped countries. Many countries are struggling severely with poverty,
and meanwhile there are chances that the exploration will fail. ... Show more content on

Germs can be three times more dangerous in space than on ground. It is quite possible that there
maybe harmful microorganisms in space which could be lethal to mankind. (Martin) This quote is
explaining that if dangerous organisms are visible on earth, it can be very contagious, and threatening.
Also on space.com, it states that astronauts have tested how dangerous organisms can be when the
author says, NASA s STS 115 space shuttle mission, launched in September 2006, carried Nickerson
and her colleague s Salmonella typhimurium bacterial experiment into space while her group
conducted an identical experiment on Earth.. Space exploration is not worth it if there is a possible
chance that dangerous organisms can be harmful, and infectious to humans. Space exploration should
not be fond of for many reasons. Despite the fact that you can explore, or gain technology, it s more
important to stay healthy, and minimize troubles in the world. The cost of exploration not only hurts
the world financially, but also emotionally and physically. The lives risked, and dangerous organisms

Analysis Of Second Sex By Simone De Beauvoir
In Simone De Beauvoir Second Sex, the author aims to define what it is be a woman. It is difficult to
pin down the definition of something that has a multitude of meanings to different people. The author
makes the claim that although someone is female they may not identify as a woman. In an effort to
define women, men have made the comparison against themselves. The essence of woman through the
eyes of men is purely a sexual being. The Man views himself as the superior being while only viewing
women in terms of personal benefit. De Beauvoir goes on to state a man can imagine himself without
a woman yet, a woman cannot imagine herself without man. Not much has changed when it comes to
the core argument that on a subconscious level men view ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Weinstein would frequently tell the women that all actresses would partake in those type of behaviors
therefore, they should as well. Men who sexually harass women choose to prioritize their desires over
the potential long term trauma the victim will most likely endure. It also brought to light another
abuser, the bystander. Men of all ages stand by as inappropriate jokes are made at woman s behalf. In
the Weinstein scandal, numerous celebrities came forward stating they heard about rumors involving
weinstein but never the full extent. Too often people, men in particular, are willing to protect the
abuser because it is easier to ignore the situation altogether. Harvey Weinstein had female assistants
who would bring actresses to the disgraced producer knowing he would put the young actress in an
uncomfortable position. Downplaying the oppression of women will only make it more difficult for
there to be true gender equality. Gender equality can also be expanded to the many genders that people
choose to identify with today. All genders other than the Man are currently seen as second class
citizens. Once the subconscious gender oppression ceases to play a role in our work and social
environments, genders can finally be equal. That means jokes are not made based on gender, pursuit of
happiness should not be dictated by gender, sexual desires will not influence political or

The Aztecs
The Aztecs Were Ahead Of Their Time
The Aztecs, though considered by the Spanish to be uncivilized, are now considered to be one of the
most advanced civilizations of their time. They have made advancements in many different fields and
their comparison to the modern day world is unbelievable. In their short span of existence, they were
able to create a prosperous empire that was both structured and creative. They have risen above other
nations in their time, including those in Europe, in many different ways. The Aztecs were ahead of

While Europe ran on a monarchy, the Aztecs went a step beyond. They took an idea that we have been
using now, dividing their land into different sections and appointing a local government for that
specific region. ( Aztec History ) Although they referred to it as tribute at the time, their form of
payment to their government was one that greatly resembles today s income taxes. Because they did
not have a form of currency, they paid tribute in supplies, such as cloth and food. This kept the power
in the government, a skill necessary in a rising empire. ( Aztec History ) These people also had an
extremely structured court system, which is almost identical to the one we have now. This system
consisted of three levels, the trial courts, appellate courts, and the supreme court. When a case is
brought to one of the appellate courts, their emperor reviews it. If he finds that the issue is too
important for the court to handle, he rules the final decision. ( Tarlton Law Aztec and Maya Law) The
Aztecs were very concerned with the safety of the people, which is why they have laws for both

Introduction
The term veteran can refer to somebody who has had a great deal of experience with a trade, but for

military, naval, or air service (What is a Veteran, n.d.). Often when returning home veterans need
additional resources to help themselves adapt to their new life outside of the armed forces. Their new
lives might bring struggles such as, new health conditions they ve acquired from being in service, or
even transitioning back to civilian life. Discussing the struggles veterans face will bring light to the

Led Night Light Research Paper
Options In Emergency Lighting During A Power Outage
When your power goes out at night, it can be a dangerous situation if you have to stumble around in
the dark to find a flashlight or candle. If you ve not used a flashlight in a long time, you may not even
know where it is. This makes it difficult to get to your kids in a hurry when they might be afraid or
roaming around the house looking for you. A solution is to install lights that automatically come on
when the power goes out. Here are some options to consider.
LED Night Lights With Battery Power
LED bulbs are ideal in battery powered lights because they last a long time and don t use much
energy. You can buy lights that plug into an outlet and come on automatically when the power shuts
off. While these lights don t light up the entire room, they illuminate the floor area like a traditional
night light or lamp does so you can walk around your home safely. Some of these night lights double
as a remote control that will turn on other lights not plugged into a socket.
You may want to mount a battery powered LED light to the ceiling so it will cast light downward on a
table or kitchen counter. It s a good idea to have an emergency light near each ... Show more content

dead before the power comes on, then you won t have any lights. Battery powered lights could be a

Germany for him was hard because he was Jewish. When Levi was sixteen, his father passed away

How Did George Jefferson Influence Pop Culture
George Jefferson is a late 90 s television icon, brought to life by Sherman Hemsley. A husband, father,

black man and the black family, in ways that did not require them to lose their black identity. Jefferson
s importance goes beyond the existence of his fictional depiction. He played a role in branding a social

Times Data Desk, 2017). We can compare this data neighboring Long Beach just a few miles to the
east of the peninsula. The median income there is $50,985 about 40% of the Rancho Palos Verdes
median. Similarly to the racial makeup within its schools, the percentages of Asian and white people
are high for the county overall, in relation to others nearby (L.A. Times Data Desk, 2017).
Historically, the United States has directly tied its public education system to income because a
substantial portion of school funding is raised through local tax revenue (Owens, Reardon, Jencks,
2016, p. 1161). Some states can help offset discrepancies, but others are completely dependent on the
value of local property and income levels. Thus we find situations like Rancho Palos Verdes, where
wealth is necessary to afford homes and the cost of living, and nearby Long Beach, where families are
far more likely to be able to live within their means. Often, affluent counties claim that affordable
housing brings no net benefits to the community and hurts property values (Mueller, 2007, p. 1). The
benefits, however, are often overlooked and can be particularly impactful in educational spaces
without which would be severely lacking in an income segregated system. Richards (2014) finds that

(PTAs), of which bilateral and regional trade agreements are a part. Of the 162 member countries,
Mongolia was the only WTO member without PFA by 2005 (WTO, 2016). There are several
motivations behind bilateral trade negotiations, originating from the state of the economic and
political situation of participating nations (McMahon, 2006). In the absence of broader trade
agreements, bilateral trade agreements accomplish the objectives of market expansion and trade
liberalisation of nations. Such agreements also affect the domestic front positively by decreasing cost

The recently signed Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) (signed on 4th February, 2016) by US and 12
Pacific Rim nations has be seen as one such agreement (Feldman, 2015). The intent of TTP, according
to Feldman (2015), is to pursue the strategy of competitive liberalisation, it was first pursued by the
US President Bush in 2003, in which bilateral, regional and global trade negotiations would
complement and reinstate each another (Sbragia, 2010). The US strategy aimed to create a competition
for liberalisation among its trading partners so that trade reforms in one market led to similar reforms
and tariff reduction in other markets (Chan, 2005). The period witnessed many trading partners re
negotiate their trade pacts with the US, thereby fulfilling the US objective to increase its sphere of
influence and hegemony (Sbargia, 2010). Through TTP, the US now seeks to increase its sphere of
influence in the Pacific Rim along with gaining economic benefits. Since the participating nations
account for 40% of the world s GDP, any rules set by these will have global repercussions (Cao,
2015). The estimates of economic gains from the treaty, however, currently account for only 0.5% of
US GDP (Rines, 2015). This strengthens the argument that the TTP is less about economic benefits

Free Motifs In The Film Mr. Orange
A free motif found in this film, while subtle, is the idea of detachment. The motifs purpose is to
display how each character is somehow disconnected from one another, and while they are a part of a
team they are also individuals. Throughout the film we discover that each member of the heist team, in
one form or another, expresses this theme. For example, Mr. Orange shows his disconnection and
detachment from everyone else when we find out he is an undercover cop trying to undermine the

In fact, at least 50% or more of the movie consists of flashbacks. For example, one of the biggest
problems for our protagonist is finding out who the rat is. As everyone is pointing their guns and
accusing one another, we go into a flashback of Mr. Orange where we find out he is actually an
undercover cop. This flashbacks serves two purposes, much like all the flashbacks in the film. Its main
use is a tool for character development, but it is also very important for creating conflict and moving
the film forward, albeit in a non linear fashion common in Tarantino films. Here we learn that Mr.
Orange is a good guy who really enjoys his job as a cop, but what his flashback also does is escalate
the conflict. In it we see a strong bond grow between Mr. White and Mr. Orange, and it causes Mr.
White to clash with the rest of his team when defending Mr. Orange, who he wholeheartedly believes
is a thief like the rest of them. In the end this causes the death of three main characters. Each flashback
in the film serves this multi pronged purpose of telling us exactly who each of the protagonists are,
and then using these newly learned attributes to stir up trouble in the films plot. Basically, these
flashbacks acts as delays for the more intense moments of the film setting up an even larger delay for

Darkness And Darkness In John Milton s Relation To Darkness
Perhaps, within one line, Milton describes the nature of all emitted light; that it must, if we are to call
it light, be considered in relation to darkness and that darkness must be considered in relation to light;
that a thing cannot be without its opposite, since any one member of an antithesis cannot exist without
a counter member, or an anti member; as a white horse cannot be compared to a black one without the
black one being present; A cannot be compared to B unless B is present; by extension, an antithesis
works by expressing two extremities of any one quality, the antithesis of white is black, since, if we
were to evaluate colour, white suggests the prescience of white and the absence of black, and vice
versa. But, to what degree is blackness said to exist in whiteness? Are they two separate qualities? Is
one merely the absence of the other? Is so, the true nature of the antithesis is of one existent thing to a
non existent thing. Suppose we are to compare lightness to darkness: if light is said to exist, as an
emission which illuminates darkness, then light can only be considered as something which
illuminates darkness, and thus can only be considered in relation to darkness; likewise, if we are to
call darkness that thing which covers light, it must be considered in relation to its opposite, which
supposes that both exist; but, if we suppose that both exist, than darkness cannot be the absence of
light but must rather be covering of it. We run into problems,

Characteristics And Weaknesses Of An Enterprise...
1. Given our studies of EA frameworks you are to identify five different criteria by which you can
assess the strengths and weaknesses of the: TOGAF, FEA, LightWeight and Zachman framework. (50
points)
Enterprise Architecture is an all inclusive approach to managing the complexity of IT from a business
viewpoint. A framework is used to help describe how to create and use an EA, in a manner that
delivers business benefit in a cost effective way. Each framework has a different approach to adding
value to the business. These criteria will identify the ways an enterprise architecture framework adds
business value, how adaptability and flexibility effect the overall adoption of an enterprise architecture
framework, how the deliverables contribute to the success of an enterprise architecture, how does each
framework take a strategic approach to reduce complexity of enterprise architecture, and how the
framework encompasses the Software Development Lifecycle.
The Zachman Framework considers that there may be different perspectives, however, each
perspective considers the requirements of the other and the restraints those may impose. It also allows
for different levels of complexity, depth, and breadth of details for each cell of the matrix based upon
the importance to a given organization. The Zachman Framework can be used to set standards and is
also easy to use with other tools and methodologies. TOGAF offers flexibility and is easily adaptable
for any organization. It

Samuel R Delaney Babel 17
The Importance of Babel 17: The Role of Communication Author Samuel R. Delaney, in his novel
Babel 17, is able to suggest that a more critical and creative way of thinking is best developed by a
well rounded mind. It is from a mind that is able to become engaged in a non linear method of
thinking, that Delany infers, is one open to communication that allows for personal and cultural
integration. Moreover, Rydra Wong and the language of Babel 17 both throw communication on its
head as each uses the power of language in order to achieve differing results. Conversely, a holistic
method of thinking displays the potential that exists for being able to manipulate how others think. An
example of this is seen with Babel 17 and the Butcher. The end

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Political...
Webster s New World Dictionary defines the term political party as, an organization of people who
share the same views about the way power should be used in a country or society. A plain and simple
definition for a very complex part of America s political system. The main goal of a political party is
to get people elected from their particular party. When people who one sees eye to eye with are in
office, there is a greater chance that the policies that one cares about will be addressed. Each party has
a platform , or positions on policies and issues that they find to be important, and they have functions.
Each party works to recruit candidates, organize elections, unite people, hold conventions to choose
the party s presidential and vice presidential nominees, and much more. However, in recent years
America has been suffering from party dealignment with an increasing number of young independents
or people who do not associate with a particular party. Many questions arise from political parties:
Why does America have them? Are they needed? How many are there? One thing is for sure, political
parties continue to influence American ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Starting with the disadvantages, voters tend to have a lack of choice when voting for political
positions. Both parties are very similar and tend to not take drastic stances on issues which makes
making a choice very hard for voters. Also, many people complain that tho system makes the U.S.
political system less democratic. Some advantages of the system are that it is easier for people to vote
since their are really only two choices and with only two parties, there tends to be more stability than
several parties all fighting for power at once. In truth, most Americans do favor this system because it
has dominated American politics since the very beginning. How could a person choose steak if they

Assignment 3: Advertising and Marketing Research and Essay

Topic: PowerAde
PowerAde was presented to the public in 1988 as a fountain beverage by researchers at the Coca Cola
Company. However, it wasn t until 1992 when it was suggested that the product be released as a ready
to drink thirst quencher or better known as a sport drink. This idea was the spark that ignited a
competitive sports drink market. Before PowerAde s launch in 1992, the sports drink market was
solely monopolized by Gatorade. Nevertheless, PowerAde extricated itself from Gatorade by adding
vitamins B3, B6, and B12, which were said to enhance the metabolism of carbohydrate energy. At this
time, PowerAde took 36% of the market share in the Fitness ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The judge concluded that there was no value to Gatorade s grievance that PowerAde s marketing
slogan inferred that PowerAde Ion4 was more complete than Gatorade. The ruling may have seemed
like a win for PowerAde, but the damage was already done due to the lawsuit s pessimistic publicity.
PowerAde has grown successfully over the past years by globally employing principle marketing
strategies that adhere to several facets of sport drink consumers. First, PowerAde increased its
association with developed high profile international sporting events such as the Olympics, NASCAR,
PGA tour, NHRA, NCAA, AFL, and FIFA World Cup. Second, PowerAde has levied global
communications to speak to consumers by upholding a hospitable appearance through the use of
global media outlets. Both marketing strategies have highly influenced adolescents which helped
PowerAde achieve its high ranked status in the sport drink industry. The sport drink industry spends
almost one billion dollars on endorsements each year. Furthermore, celebrities are featured in
endorsements campaigns such as TV commercials, billboard campaigns, print advertising, and website
ads that reinforce an affable marketing strategy. Both methods of advertisement are appealing to
adolescents because they dream to be like these celebrities. Furthermore, the mode of advertisement
caters to the desired physical attributes that adolescents desire to possess.

Our group has had many fights but in the end we managed to complete our work very well. It was
difficult to cope with having a new member join our group and one of our members was put into
another group, but we still managed to do very well in the end and had a lot of fun doing the project.

Plato s Apology And The Apology
In this paper I will discuss how Plato s Apology and Phaedo have difference ideas of what it means to
be a philosopher. I will explain how in the Apology, the philosopher is wise in how he/she understand
that they are wise because they know that they don t know, and in Phadeo the philosopher
knowledgable and are concern in gaining more knowledge.
In Plato s Apology we learn about Socrates life and who he really is. In platos Apology a philosopher
is a wise person because he understands that being wise is understanding that they know they don t
know. Is something difficult to understand but I will break it down as simple as I can. Socrates was a
citizen that knew that he did not know and also knew that everyone else also did not ... Show more

Someone that would call themselves wise, Socrates would question him or her until they did not had
an answer to Socrates questions, and that would demonstrate that in reality those people where not
wise as they would call themselves, even though himself would not had an answer either. Although,
Socrates did not claimed to have knowledge of what he did not know and not claimed to have wisdom
when he believed he did not, Socrates understood that those who claimed to have knowledge did not
really know about what they claimed to know as well as wisdom and thats what made Socrates more
wise. Therefore, In the Apology Socrates was wise because he believed that he was not wise.
In the Apology the Oracle believed that there was no other person wiser that Socrates because
Socrates believed that he was not wise. It its crazy to believe that a person is wise because that person
believes he or she is not wise but if you put some thought into it it makes total sense. How can
someone in this earth call themselves wise when in reality they do not have every answer. Socrates in
the Apology would totally agree that it is wiser for someone to believe that being wise is to not call
themselves wise but to know that they don t know and that is because thats what Socrates did
throughout his life in the Apology until his sentenced.
In the other hand in Plato s Phaedo the philosopher

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, on free will and comfort, offers the dogs to serve as a
companion to the PTSD victims. The department allows the dogs to serve the purpose of the grooming
and training. According to Shubert (2012), the dogs initially did not receive any special training, and
there existed no program concerning the dogs care. People used dogs as a source of fun helping
individuals to reduce stress. The dogs also assist in executing and taking orders after a period of

Differences Between Holes Movie And Movie
The film Holes is a well known Disney movie based on Louis Sachar s 1998 children novel of the
same title. Although, it is often the case that books are better than its film counterpart, the movie
adaptation by Disney, actually received positive reviews from critics and stayed true to the original
story as much as possible. However, changes were still made by director Andrew Davis when it comes
to the portrayal of characters, plots, and emphasis of theme based on his own interpretation of the
literature. Some of these changes positively worked for the film, while the others are cumbrous and
unnecessary. First, let s look at the characters. By comparing the original text and film, we can easily

friendship that people can forgive others when they are friends. In conclusion, Holes the novel and the
film both have their own merits. Andrew Davis did make this story more romantic and dramatic in the
film through his trivial yet effective plot changes. Moreover, he also altered his focus on the theme to
eliminate heavy racial topic and put more scenes about friendship, which is closer to children s daily
life. Nevertheless, Andrew s alteration on characters can easily rob the audience from seeing some
brilliant points in the main character s life that only readers of the novel know

Research Paper On Sandra Day O Connor
Kaylee Mackey 10/1/17 Liebrecht p. 5 Sandra Day O Connor I think that Sandra Day O Connor was a
big part of history and feminism. She is one of the biggest female figures ever. Without her, a lot of
women wouldn t have the inspiration to be as great as they can and do whatever they want in life. She
inspired so many people to get where they are. Sandra Day O Connor was the first woman to join the
supreme court. She was born in El Piso, Texas on March 26th, 1930. She grew up in Arizona on the
family s ranch and wrote a memoir about her childhood called Lazy B: Growing up on a Cattle Ranch
in the American SouthWest in 2002 when she was still working for the Supreme court. When she was
old enough to go to school, she moved in with her grandmother in El Paso, where she was born, to go
to a private school. She went to Stanford University and was on the Stanford Law review then
graduated, third in her class in 1950 with a bachelor s degree in economics. She got her law degree
two years later, in 1952. Sandra Day O Connor obviously worked really hard to get where she got and
she was very smart because she was in near the top of her class at Stanford where everyone is very
serious and competitive. She was above most boys which proves that a girl can be just as smart as a
boy. A long time ago women weren t even allowed to go to school and here she is graduating at
Stanford at the top of her class. This shows people that girls can be just as smart or even smarter than
men which I

  • 2. Partisan Stratification Partisan identification refers to the political party with which an individual identifies and political socialization can be defined as the process by which people form their ideas about politics (Hershey 2016, pg. 127). Both of these terms are important for understanding how individuals identify with the parties they do and how in doing so can affect both the perception of the candidate and the level of participation. Political socialization often times begins during childhood; most parents do not consciously indoctrinate their children into partisanship, but they are nevertheless the main teachers of political attitudes. This early identification, according to Hershey, takes hold before children have much information as to what the parties ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Knowing desktop hardware if you own a computer is important. Say if one part of your computer is malfunctioning and you knew which part, you could easily replace that part if it is able to be replaced. The parts of the computer could save you money and time for yourself instead of purchasing a brand new computer. Floppy disks store a small amount of information, less than a CD or DVD. One important detail about them is that they are portable, meaning they are able to remove. Floppy disks are easily damaged while they are also inexpensive and tend to have a more tendency to lag. Some computers still include a floppy disk but they are not as popular as they once were around the mid 1970 s. (IBM) The sizes are varied from as small as two inches to around 8 inches in size. Floppy disks were first developed in the early 1960 s but were not available to the public until the 1970 s. Early computers did not have a CD ROM drives and floppy disks were the only current way to install a new problem. • 6. My Goal For Both Immersion Activities Immersion One My goal for both immersion activities was to learn more about African American culture, experiences and history. I hope that by educating myself that it will help to counteract the unintentional biases and judgements that I have learned from breathing in the racist smog that prevails in our society. I chose to watch Remember the Titans for my Immersion One activity. I thought this movie would accurately show the experiences that African Americans have had with racism in the past in our country and that they also still continue to struggle with today. I have watched this movie countless times before but this time when I watched it was different than before. I always knew it was obviously a movie about racism, but I never picked up on tiny parts of the dialogue and certain scenes stood out as much more significant to me than they have in the past. For example, at one point in the movie a brick is thrown through Coach Boone s window while his daughter and Sheryl Yoast are playing in the living room. The next day, Coach Yoast is angry about what happened. He accuses Coach Boone for it being his fault that the brick was thrown through his window because of his sins . Coach Boone is very offended by this and points out that he did not do anything to deserve it and also that maybe now Sheryl has an idea of what his daughters go through every day of their lives. The Persistence of Memory, A Trip to the Moon, and The Great Day of His Wrath, all share scientific context concerning theories that are still being debated today. In addition, each artist created an interpretation of the scientific theories, whether they purposely made the work of art in the inspiration of the scientific theories or it was suggested by a large number of viewers who saw the art. Each work art demonstrates ideal and fantastical versions of these theories in dreamlike or nightmare ways. For example in Dali s The Persistence of Memory, he paints realistic, everyday objects in a strange pattern in an unusual landscape, for example, it is improbable that clocks would be melting, and in a desert. But the idea of time dilation is a probability, so Dali uses the improbable to explain the probable. This is the same for A Trip to the Moon. Humans have always questioned the existence of extraterrestrial forms. In Méliès film, it is improbable that the group of astronomers would be able to travel to space without the consideration for the lack of oxygen in space. However, as scientists were focusing only on the survival in space and the transportation there, Méliès focuses on the astronauts adventure on the moon. He ignores the probable and approaches the existence of extraterrestrial life in a fantastical way by interacting the astronauts and the moon dwellers. In Martin s painting, Martin envisions the apocalypse straight out of the Bible. However, in the Book of Revelations, the only visual given is through the text. It is most closely relatable to the text in Revelations 6. The text explores a few details in the catastrophic sight, such as mountains falling. Martin takes this reference from the Bible and combines it with his studies of dinosaur bones and fossils as a scientist. Martin could be combining science with the improbable in this detail of the painting, but that depends on whether he believed God ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Once addressed, the United States can join the other industrialized countries who have long since implemented universal healthcare systems such as Germany, France, United Kingdom, United Kingdom, Canada who have more cost effective systems which produce better health outcomes than the US.1 Setting the focus outwards and learning from both the success stories and the growing pains as would be beneficial in ... What seems to be the most consistent theme through this book is the authors approach in determining the advantages and disadvantages within each system, which in itself creates a basis for comparison for the US with each story relayed.6 Philosophy of the Book s Author The philosophy relayed by the book s author consistently leads back to the moral question that must be asked in the initial design of the healthcare system. That determination has to do as to whether the government has a duty to act when there are those within their own country do not have equitable access to hospitals and doctors for the treatment of their conditions.14 The most industrialized countries in the world have long since made the decision to provide universal healthcare coverage, yet the United States still lags behind in this department. • 9. What Is The Theme Of The Ice Man By Haruki Mrakami Essay on The Ice Man by Haruki Murakami Haruki Murakami was born in 1949 in Kyoto, a city in Japan. He lived his life in a time and place, where traditions had absolute influence on people and were very highly valued. This inspired him when he was writing his stories. For influence, he had to read Western literature. In his works, Haruki Murakami shows that he supports the idea of more freedom against traditions, but still presents the risks of choosing not to follow them. Haruki Murakami supports freedom and this is shown in The Ice Man as when the woman decides to marry the ice man, the idea that the love between them is important is more justified than the idea that her family and she cannot explain the decision to others in an understandable way. Murakami has a background of living in a time where traditions have taken control over thinking in Japan and he expresses his view in this story. The Ice Man was as isolated and alone as an iceberg floating in the darkness. (Camus 212) is a quote with very important meaning. First, all those ice metaphors are not so much about the iceman as a being, but about how people see him and believe him to be. Kerouac expresses the aroma of melancholia that followed the end of World War II. In came a sense of fear for the technological innovation made towards nuclear warfare. The urban settings across the United States greatly influence beatniks in writing about the environment of post World War II. This new mindset of free spirit allowed Ginsberg to explore new, but vulnerable subjects that may cause one to cringe. The literary experience present in Howl allow[ed] an individual to discover his own vulnerability, his humanness, without cowering (Tytell, 313). • 12. The Importance Of Chlorinating Water For The Purpose... Introduction: The process of chlorinating water for the purpose purifying it, has only been around for just over a hundred years. Although the process has been seen to have a great effect, in reducing the amount of disease caught from drinking water (such as typhoid and cholera), it s been a heated debate for years. The first case of water being disinfected on a mass scale, was done by a man named John L. Leal. Leal was a physician by profession, but was thought by many to be a bit of a mad man at the time, because of his idea that chlorine had the properties to disinfect water for drinking. It was thought at the time, that if chlorine is poisonous when in a gaseous state, then what s to say that it s not poisonous when it s added to water (creating calcium hydrochloride), which it was (reference 1).Leal spent years of his life observing the effects were when very small amounts of chloride of lime was added to bacteria filled water. He observed in more cases than not that the chlorine of lime in the water, ended up killing almost all of the bacteria while leaving it at a similar PH level of water. During the year of 1908, soon after Leal was given a job at the Jersey City Water Supply, and with the help of his friend George Warren Fuller (an engineer). It is the first film in a series of films that follow the adventures of archaeologist and professor Indiana Jones. Some proclaim the Raiders of the Lost Ark is one of the best action/adventure movies of all time. Since its release, the film has grossed $389 million worldwide and is ranked #40 on the top rated movies list on IMDB. Mise en Scene: Raiders of the lost Ark takes place in 1936. When comes down to the settings, lighting, music, costumes and the way everyone acts in this film, everything works together to get an overall feel that the time really is the 1936. The costumes look like outfits people would really wear during that time and the music sounds right for that era. In the very beginning of the film, viewers see Indiana Jones walking through the jungle with some men. Although his face is not shown for the first couple of minutes you can tell that the man in the fedora is an important character. It s never specifically mentioned that it is a jungle but there are animal noises and plants in the background. Also, the lighting looks natural almost as if the sun is shining through a thick canopy of trees. All the men look a little tired and their faces and clothes look dirty. Who is better to build a bond with each other than people that are going through the same turmoil? The Japanese people are stoic patriotic people. They did come together as a community to assist each other but they suffered through their pain alone. They did not look for sympathy or a shoulder to cry on. Mr. Tanimoto wrote in a letter describing how some Japanese died without yelling out for help. He wrote, They died in silence with no grudge, setting their teeth to bear it. All for the country (Hersey, p. 69)! They were proud people for their country and didn t want to appear weak. • 15. Greed And Symbols In The Necklace By Guy De Maupassant Although some people may think that material objects are essential in life, that s not always true. When I was 12, I used to think that all I wanted was an iPhone because with it I would be able to play games, but also call and text people in case of an emergency . I repeatedly asked my parents for a new phone, but was always be turned down. It wasn t until my birthday I got one, but not longer after I realized that it wasn t all that different from the phone I had before. Sometimes people think that they want something because they will gain something or benefit from it, but they really just want it because other people around them have it. Both greed and selfishness make people want material items, while generosity can lead to just the opposite. Greed is one of the main reasons people feel the need to have material objects, and The Necklace, by Guy de Maupassant is an example of just that. Mathilde, the main character, valued luxurious items so that she could seem wealthy to others. When her and her husband get invited to a formal event for work, she wishes to look as elegant as she can. Although Mathilde didn t have a bad life, she still wanted more. She had no proper wardrobe, no jewels, nothing. And those were the only things that she loved she felt she was made for them. She would have so loved to charm, to be envied, to be admired and sought after (Maupassant 374). This quote relates to how even though Mathilde probably did have a dress that would have been ... While I would love to stay on a positive note, as this campaign s administrator I feel obligated to address some of the concerns and criticisms our campaign has received over the past three days. Those being, that our efforts do not have the money nor the amount of people to cause the change we are after to occur, that the money we raised should have all gone to charity and finally that we need to get our house in order. Let s face it, most of you still don t know much about any one of the people behind this campaign. So consider that, at the time of the fundraiser, people knew even less. What guarantee was there that we would do what we claimed we would do? I know several within the Expanded Universe Movement at varying levels of involvement were openly asking why they would trust a crowdfunding effort headed by random people from within the movement. After all, crowdfunding has had a rocky history at times. While our team did its best to reassure people that we would install a billboard in San Francisco, we were unable to give the certainty that more well known individuals would have been capable of giving. Too, we had our hands tied on even releasing the location of the billboard during the fundraiser because of various threats and potential obstacles aimed at our efforts. Finally consider that our community on the internet is not all encompassing of every Expanded Universe fan in the world. Someone had to purchase enough books to give all those legends stories best seller status! Similarly to the racial makeup within its schools, the percentages of Asian and white people are high for the county overall, in relation to others nearby (L.A. Times Data Desk, 2017). Historically, the United States has directly tied its public education system to income because a substantial portion of school funding is raised through local tax revenue (Owens, Reardon, Jencks, 2016, p. 1161). Some states can help offset discrepancies, but others are completely dependent on the value of local property and income levels. Thus we find situations like Rancho Palos Verdes, where wealth is necessary to afford homes and the cost of living, and nearby Long Beach, where families are far more likely to be able to live within their means. Often, affluent counties claim that affordable housing brings no net benefits to the community and hurts property values (Mueller, 2007, p. 1). The benefits, however, are often overlooked and can be particularly impactful in educational spaces without which would be severely lacking in an income segregated system. • 33. U.s. Bilateral Trade Agreements As discussed before, the recent decades has seen proliferation of Preferential Trade Agreements (PTAs), of which bilateral and regional trade agreements are a part. Of the 162 member countries, Mongolia was the only WTO member without PFA by 2005 (WTO, 2016). There are several motivations behind bilateral trade negotiations, originating from the state of the economic and political situation of participating nations (McMahon, 2006). In the absence of broader trade agreements, bilateral trade agreements accomplish the objectives of market expansion and trade liberalisation of nations. Such agreements also affect the domestic front positively by decreasing cost of imported goods, resulting in lower prices of consumer goods and spurring ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The recently signed Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) (signed on 4th February, 2016) by US and 12 Pacific Rim nations has be seen as one such agreement (Feldman, 2015). The intent of TTP, according to Feldman (2015), is to pursue the strategy of competitive liberalisation, it was first pursued by the US President Bush in 2003, in which bilateral, regional and global trade negotiations would complement and reinstate each another (Sbragia, 2010). The US strategy aimed to create a competition for liberalisation among its trading partners so that trade reforms in one market led to similar reforms and tariff reduction in other markets (Chan, 2005). The period witnessed many trading partners re negotiate their trade pacts with the US, thereby fulfilling the US objective to increase its sphere of influence and hegemony (Sbargia, 2010). Through TTP, the US now seeks to increase its sphere of influence in the Pacific Rim along with gaining economic benefits. Since the participating nations account for 40% of the world s GDP, any rules set by these will have global repercussions (Cao, 2015). The estimates of economic gains from the treaty, however, currently account for only 0.5% of US GDP (Rines, 2015). This strengthens the argument that the TTP is less about economic benefits and more about putting down a legal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The motifs purpose is to display how each character is somehow disconnected from one another, and while they are a part of a team they are also individuals. Throughout the film we discover that each member of the heist team, in one form or another, expresses this theme. For example, Mr. Orange shows his disconnection and detachment from everyone else when we find out he is an undercover cop trying to undermine the heist. With Mr. Blonde we find out he is a psychopath and likes to do his own thing, which ends up causing a lot of conflict with the other members. In fact, at least 50% or more of the movie consists of flashbacks. For example, one of the biggest problems for our protagonist is finding out who the rat is. As everyone is pointing their guns and accusing one another, we go into a flashback of Mr. Orange where we find out he is actually an undercover cop. This flashbacks serves two purposes, much like all the flashbacks in the film. Its main use is a tool for character development, but it is also very important for creating conflict and moving the film forward, albeit in a non linear fashion common in Tarantino films. Here we learn that Mr. Orange is a good guy who really enjoys his job as a cop, but what his flashback also does is escalate the conflict. In it we see a strong bond grow between Mr. White and Mr. Orange, and it causes Mr. White to clash with the rest of his team when defending Mr. Orange, who he wholeheartedly believes is a thief like the rest of them. In the end this causes the death of three main characters. Each flashback in the film serves this multi pronged purpose of telling us exactly who each of the protagonists are, and then using these newly learned attributes to stir up trouble in the films plot. Basically, these flashbacks acts as delays for the more intense moments of the film setting up an even larger delay for the films ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Darkness And Darkness In John Milton s Relation To Darkness Perhaps, within one line, Milton describes the nature of all emitted light; that it must, if we are to call it light, be considered in relation to darkness and that darkness must be considered in relation to light; that a thing cannot be without its opposite, since any one member of an antithesis cannot exist without a counter member, or an anti member; as a white horse cannot be compared to a black one without the black one being present; A cannot be compared to B unless B is present; by extension, an antithesis works by expressing two extremities of any one quality, the antithesis of white is black, since, if we were to evaluate colour, white suggests the prescience of white and the absence of black, and vice versa. But, to what degree is blackness said to exist in whiteness? Are they two separate qualities? Is one merely the absence of the other? Is so, the true nature of the antithesis is of one existent thing to a non existent thing. Suppose we are to compare lightness to darkness: if light is said to exist, as an emission which illuminates darkness, then light can only be considered as something which illuminates darkness, and thus can only be considered in relation to darkness; likewise, if we are to call darkness that thing which covers light, it must be considered in relation to its opposite, which supposes that both exist; but, if we suppose that both exist, than darkness cannot be the absence of light but must rather be covering of it.
