City Demographics and Crime Profile of Chicago
Chicago is a big and beautiful city in the United States, this paper will discuss the cities demographics
and analyze a criminal profile. It will include the characterization of the city in terms of social and
intellectual context and identify social factors that contribute to crime. A description of beliefs people
living there would accept for explaining criminal behavior by linking of events or attitudes. It will
consider the changes in land use, property values, transportation, and retail as one moves away from
the city. If there are any changes, it will describe the distances between these ... Show more content on

Designing A Client Server Application
Abstract Distributed multiprocessor operating systems is a course that involves exploring new
concepts in the field of operating systems and its internals. This course clearly elaborates the concepts
of operating systems, distributed systems and internals and how are they utilized. It clearly explains
how multiprocessors in operating systems are used in today s world. The course also involves a four
phase project to create a client server application that demonstrates the usage and application of
various concepts like reentrancy, synchronization, etc. operating systems. The project clearly
introduces us to the concepts of distributed memories, remote procedure calls, shared memory,
concurrency, etc. thereby leveraging our knowledge and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
and how can they be applied. As we all know, semaphores can be defined as the variables whose
access are completely dependent on the wait and signal operations that are performed and are also
termed as P and V [1]. It clearly explained the concepts of producer consumer problems, reader writers
problems and also helped realizing the potential situations where the problem could actually arise and
also taught the ways in which we could solve these problems. Reentrancy is another key concept that
plays a key role in multiprocessor operating systems. It is under normal cases that multiple interrupts
do occur in a system sometimes. At this point of time, we face certain situations where some of the
functions need to be called back after the interrupt is handled, on the other hand similarly few of the
other functions can be left unhandled [2]. This however depends on the particular situation that we
need during the execution. Hence, calling a function back after the sudden interruption of its execution
is called reentrancy [2]. Similarly, if the function is said to have an undefined behavior when it is
called after an interrupt occurred, then it is said to be non reentrant function [2]. This project helped us
to implement functions which can be reentrant.
The project has been implemented in four different phases, where each phase acts as an input to the
others.

Just War and Pacifism Essay
The question Can war be justified? plagued mankind since the first war. The Just War Theory holds
that war can be just. The theory has evolved for thousands of years and modern theorists, such as
Michael Walzer, author of Just and Unjust Wars, puts forth criteria for a just war, such as jus ad bellum
and jus in bello. Jus ad bellum includes reasons for going to war, and jus in bello deals with the people
who wage war. The criteria in jus ad bellum include; just cause, declaration by a proper authority, right
intention, a reasonable chance of success, the end proportional to the means, and war as a last resort.
Jus in bello includes keeping innocents outside the field of war, and limiting the amount of force used.

In Locke s State of nature the government s primary objective is to protect individuals. For example, if
one was in a state of nature and a gang of savages attacked him or her, he or she would do anything
necessary to defend themselves. They would then form a group with a common objective of
protection. With life now insured, the group can pursue liberty, happiness and estate. Just War
Theorists claim the governments of today are essentially the same, only on a larger scale.
Walzer and other Just War Theorists hold that self defense justifies pre emptive strikes. If an outside
force is obviously endangering a state, it is then justifiable to stop the attack before it happens. Pre
emptive strikes can prevent a future war that has worse effects. Walzer has what he calls a general
formula for a just pre emptive strike, States may use military force in the face of threats of war,
wherever the failure to do so would seriously risk their territorial integrity and political independence
(87). Walzer uses an example to justify his general formula of a justifiable pre emptive strike. He
claims that the Six Day War in 1967 was indeed a just pre emptive attack on Egypt by Israel. Israel
was under real threat because Egyptian President Nasser massed an army and was positioning for
attack, while simultaneously closing the Straits of Tiran to Israel, and publicizing his goal to destroy
Israel. Israel went

Carpenter, and the Oysters. The Walrus and the Carpenter tricks the naive Oysters into attending a

other hand, Ruthie is a tall, skinny woman with red lipstick was also tricked into a relationship. She

Individuals start to enjoy the feelings brought up by the internet and fall into it deeply. When they
realize where they are and want to get their life back to the real life, usually they will find hard times

young generation, especially college students. The reason is young generations use internet more often
than the older generations do, especially for college students, their life are filled up with social media s

on several aspects such as online affairs, student internet abuse, and employee internet abuse. Online
chat rooms and other social medias might impact individuals in ways such as marriages, health

Jane Eyre By Charlotte Bronte
Following the experiences of Jane Eyre, Charlotte Bronte, expresses many elements of gothic
literature throughout her novel Jane Eyre. In her perfect understanding of gothic literature, she
expresses the three types of evil commonly found in gothic literature, including the evil of the
supernatural, the evil within or the instinctual evil motives of humans, and lastly, the evil because of
societal influence. Jane Eyre experiences all of these three evils with her aunt and three cousins with
her residency and return to Gateshead: Jane encounters the supernatural and the evil of societal
influence as a child and she fully encounters the evil within upon her return.
As a child at Gateshead, one discovers the first form of evil in the novel with the negative interactions
between Jane and her relatives, which sparks from both, physical inferiority, (Bronte 11) to her
cousins, and as Bronte eventually states, her lack of money. Doing rather short work, the reader
discovers Jane does not belong in Gateshead with her rich Aunt, Mrs. Reed, and her cousins, John,
Georgina, and Eliza. Jane s three cousins cluster, around their mamma, (Bronte 11) in the opening of
the novel, but Jane sits in solitary. She leaves to ask her aunt, What does Bessie say I have done?
(Bronte 11); her aunt responds she likes children, who do not take up their elders, and Bronte implies,
she likes good children, which becomes surprising with Jane s cousins later actions. As Mrs. Reed

Human Tooth, Tooth Decay

Human tooth
Teeth of humans are small, calcified, whitish structures found in the mouth that are used to break
down food. The roots of teeth are embedded in the maxilla (upper jaw) or the mandible (lower jaw)
and are covered by gums. Teeth are made of multiple tissues of varying density and hardness.
Teeth are among the most distinctive (and long lasting) features of mammal species. Humans, like
other mammals, are diphyodont, meaning that they develop two sets of teeth. The first set (also called
the baby , milk , primary , and deciduous set) normally starts to appear at about six months of age,
although some babies are born with one or more visible teeth, known as neonatal ... Show more

Depending on the extent of tooth destruction, various treatments can be used to restore teeth to proper
form, function, and aesthetics, but there is no known method to regenerate large amounts of tooth
structure. Instead, dental health organizations advocate preventive and prophylactic measures, such as
regular oral hygiene and dietary modifications, to avoid dental caries.
Causes
There are four main criteria required for caries formation: a tooth surface (enamel or dentin); caries
causing bacteria; fermentable carbohydrates (such as sucrose); and time. The caries process does not
have an inevitable outcome, and different individuals will be susceptible to different degrees
depending on the shape of their teeth, oral hygiene habits, and the buffering capacity of their saliva.
Dental caries can occur on any surface of a tooth that is exposed to the oral cavity, but not the
structures that are retained within the bone. All caries occurs from acid demineralization that exceeds
saliva and fluoride remineralization, and almost all acid demineralization occurs where food
(containing carbohydrate like sugar) is left on teeth. Though most trapped food is left between teeth,
over 80% of cavities occur inside pits and fissures on chewing surfaces where brushing, fluoride, and
saliva cannot reach to remineralize the tooth as they do on easy to reach surfaces that develop few
cavities.

Unnecessary Stigm Bdsm Relationships
Unnecessary Stigma: BDSM Relationships
With the rise of books like Fifty Shades of Grey, there are many questions being asked about what the
real effects of BDSM (bondage and discipline, dominance and submission, sadism and masochism
(sadomasochism)) relationships are on participants (Turley et al 123, McDonald). There s the question
of where the boundary between abuse and recreational play is drawn, where the psychological
implications of the relationship becomes too much for the individual, but all of that can be boiled
down to just a few points to explore. In order to really understand what all comes with these
relationships, we must look at the experiences of participants, seeking to understand what BDSM is,
and what it means. We must ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Black gives them to us: SSC, or Safe, Sane, Consensual, and RACK, or Risk Aware Consensual Kink.
The latter really becomes important when individuals engage in play that involves things like drugs,
where the risks can be considered no longer safe for SSC to apply (Black). Once the understanding of
limits, both soft and hard, has been reached, and the participants have given consent, play like that
between Tom and Joe can begin. As Stear points out, the scenes that are engaged in are a form of make
believe, one that gets very involved with the body, pleasure, and possibly even pain, but they are a
fantasy nonetheless (29). Tom isn t actually a puppy, but pretending to be, getting so lost in the
headspace that, for a time, he experiences the world as if he were a puppy, giving him a break from the
stresses of human life (Turley et al 130). It is with this understanding of what the scenes are made of,
along with what they are built upon, that we can begin to focus on what BDSM is for an individual.
These relationships go beyond many other types in requiring participants to trust each other enough to
give up or receive some kind of power in relation to the other. Even when the dominant/submissive
dynamic isn t as revalent, there is a level of trust and communication that is

Word Count 1157 David McCullough s novel 1776 is a compelling story of America s war for
independence. We have all read chapters and heard the related history of the war of 1776, but David
McCullough takes the epic story even further. The book covers the entire year of 1776 from the
beginning of the war until the end. The author provides an extremely detailed description of both sides
of the conflict both American and British. David McCullough is a renowned author and historian and

The King was content on defeating the American rebellion and because of his loyalty to Britain and
the crown; there was no one that would change his mind. Several people stood up for America and
warned of the consequences if Britain actually lost. The introduction of George Washington and the
explanation of how much of an unorganized, unruly bunch of soldiers he was stuck with in the
Continental Army was definitely one of the most interesting parts of the book. I realized in reading
this, how little I actually knew about Washington. The author describes him in such a way that gives
you the understanding of why people were drawn to follow him. Nathaniel Green and Henry Knox
were just as important as Washington throughout the war, Knox especially in the in the success of
removing the British from Boston. His heroic effort of bring cannons and munitions form Fort
Ticonderoga to Boston was a tremendous achievement. It s hard to imagine the difficulty in
successfully being able to achieve something like that. Both Knox and Greene were almost entirely
self educated. Knox owned a book store and was married to a woman named Lucy Flucker whose
father was royal secretary of the province and even arranged for Knox to be commissioned in the
British army, but he declined, which to me, showed how incredibly loyal he was to his country .

Seventh Heaven
Tips on how to make your girl reach the seventh heaven
There are many ways to please your woman, cuddle her, spoil her, use little gestures to make her feel
special but nothing comes close to making her reach orgasm. There are many ways other than sex that
you can use to masturbate a girl. Actually, the answer is right at your fingertips. I mean literally in
your fingers. With just your fingers you can perform magic and your girl will reach the seventh
heaven. Masturbation, in fact, is actually a healthy practice whether performed solo or on your partner.
Here we discuss three techniques to masturbate a girl so that she starts squirting.

After sliding off her pants start rubbing along the clitoris on top of her underwear. When you figure
out she is wet enough, slide off her underwear but do not start for the clitoris. Rub your fingers along
the lips and opening of the vagina to build up the tension and excitement. Listen for her soft moans
and then start rubbing her clitoris gently. Start slowly so that she does not get excited too quickly and
then increasing thereafter. Spread her legs and slowly insert your middle finger inside her. Use your
finger in a come here motion. Slowly but surely increasing the pressure while using your thumb to rub
the lips in a circular motion. Avoid thrusting your fingers in and out at first. Make sure she is enjoying
what you are doing.
3. The G Spot
This is the most important part which every guy fails to locate. It s like The Bermuda Triangle inside a
woman s body. Continue with your finger then slowly insert a second finger and continue as before.
Out of excitement do not try and insert all five fingers, this will only hurt her. Listen to what she is
saying. Whether she wants it more fast or slow. Finding the G Spot takes a bit time and pressure. You
will feel a bumpy kind of area inside and this is when her moans will be the loudest. Do not slow
down at this point. Continue with the motions and thrusts in a rhythmic pattern slowly building up the
pressure.
You will come to know when she has reached orgasm. Some women start to squirt when they reach
orgasm making it a more sensual feel. Slowly take out your fingers and let her relax and take a bit of

Gender Roles In King Lear
When observing gender in our society, women and men are stereotyped with specific roles. Men have
always been seen as the family s main source of income whereas the women take care of their home
and children. However, Shakespeare challenges these gender roles in his play with the three female
characters Goneril, Regan, and Cordelia. While all three are independent, powerful women and even
lead their armies into battle, the men seem to be foolish and weak such as King Lear and Albany.
Furthermore, Mira cel Batran makes a point in her essay, Feminist Reading of William Shakespeare s
King Lear , that although women are regarded as dependent on men, Shakespeare explains that it can
be the exact opposite. The men seem to depend on the women such as King Lear depending on
Cordelia and Albany depending on Goneril. Shakespeare, in his play, King Lear, portrays women who
are strong and intelligent and men who are weak or overpowered by female characters, challenging
the societal belief that women are inherently less than or dependent on men. Firstly, the entire play is
structured around the women and what they do. If Shakespeare was not trying to make a claim on
gender roles then he would not have added merely three women. Right from the beginning, King Lear
is foolish enough to think that giving his kingdom away would be wise. The play from then on
revolves around Cordelia s defiance and Regan and Goneril s hypocritic actions towards their father.
In other words, Shakespeare

of the criminal justice system. First, there was an investigation, an arrest, and booking. If the suspect
was a juvenile, they would go into the juvenile justice system. Next is the prosecution; charging,
initial appearance, preliminary hearing, and indictment or information. During charging, the
prosecution attorneys are the link between police and the court; they must decide if there is reasonable

the initial appearance, they are brought before a judge, given a formal notice of charges, advised of

Female Characters In And Then There Were None
Women. They are a complete mystery, said the revolutionary physicist Stephen Hawking. In the novel
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie, it is apparent that the female characters are portrayed
in a manner that is both derogatory and stereotypical. Whether the incidents include a fellow character
or the author directly using offensive insults, portrayals of hysteria or weakness compared to the
males, or downright treating the female protagonists like objects or things, they are sometimes cruel
and unnecessary. Throughout And Then There Were None, the female characters are described through
hurtful stereotypes, objectification, and psychotic behaviors that may not be appropriate for
impressionable young minds to be reading about, despite others suggesting otherwise. One of the
largest problems with And Then There Were None is the use of offensive and hurtful stereotypes while
referring to the women in the novel, as well as indirectly stating that all women should be
homemakers who cook and clean. With a pioneering female writer such as Agatha Christie, you would
not necessarily expect such blaring misogyny, but it remains all the same. On a broader note, the three
main female characters are each stereotypes of the crazy woman one following under her husband
even for cruelty, one being bible crazy, and one being so in love she is willing to literally kill anyone
who stands in her way. More specifically, when William Blore is analyzing the death of Mrs. Rogers,

Epistemology Vs Social Contract Theory
It would appear that the TF article is seeking an ideal theory that aligns with their staunch ideology.
The ontological depth of this ideology holds an interesting component grounded within an
epistemology of ignorance. For example, imagine the tax code as being a contract with signatories and
non signatories. This contract, similar to social contract theory, is a binding agreement that attempts to
maintain the status quo of the agreements made within the contract. However, I want to pose
something entirely different with this contract. I believe this contract has written itself out of formal
existence, but continues to have stark ideological/educational effects upon every level of the socio
economic classes. The signatories are conveyed as being consensual and rightly so due to this flipped
epistemology. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Likewise, the beneficiaries give the contract flexibility by adapting the way in which it can continue
the unequal system of burden and benefit for other socio economic classes. I believe this is
unintentional as it would follow the epistemology of ignorance that constructs an illusion of reaching
equality by taxing the one percent, but similarly allows furthering the inequalities by establishing
loopholes and policies aimed at maintaining equilibrium. Starting from moral ground zero in the
complexity of this issue appears impossible, but I agree with you that this issue has enormous
ontological depth that seems impossible to penetrate. Implementing a Rawlsian notion of distributive
justice is opaque and obscure as it doesn t necessarily follow the concrete evidence presented by NYT.
However, I believe the TF article perpetuates this example of an invisible formal contract with
agreements that allow for the replication of this issue among socio economic

Consequently, the musical helped change how others saw me. Suddenly, people realized I was more

8. Differentiate between the glucocorticoid and mineralocorticoid effects of prednisone.
Mineralocorticoids= The name mineralocorticoid derives from early observations that these hormones
were involved in the retention of sodium, a mineral. The primary endogenous mineralocorticoid is
aldosterone, although a number of other endogenous hormones (including progesterone and
deoxycorticosterone) have mineralocorticoid function. Aldosterone acts on the kidneys to provide
active reabsorption of sodium and an associated passive reabsorption of water, as well as the active
secretion of potassium in the principal cells of the cortical collecting tubule and active secretion of
protons via proton ATPases in the lumenal membrane of the intercalated cells of the collecting tubule.
This in turn results in an increase of blood pressure and blood volume.
Glucocortiocoids= Glucocorticoids (GC) are a class of steroid hormones that bind to the
glucocorticoid receptor, which is present in almost every vertebrate animal cell. GCs are part of the
feedback mechanism in the immune system that turns immune activity (inflammation) down. They are
therefore used in medicine to treat diseases that are caused by an overactive immune system, such as
allergies, asthma, autoimmune diseases and sepsis. GCs have

Athletic Performance Research Paper
In the research paper, ACTN3 Genotype Is Associated with Human Elite Athletic Performance by Nan
Yang and his colleagues, the idea of athleticism is inheritable is explored. Nan Yang first explains that
there are a plethora of studies and evidence that illustrates that athletic performance is highly
influenced by the genetics of an individual. Also apparently studies have shown that there is some sort
of evolutionary trade off between traits that encode for speed and endurance. Now looking at the
genome of a human, studies have discovered that the actin binding protein alpha actinin 3 is absent in
the majority of the general population due to a stop codon in ACTN3. Alpha actinins are a family of
proteins that encode for two types of skeletal muscle proteins: ACTN2 (in fibers) and ACTN3 (in fast
fibers). Over the years evidence has elucidated that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to find out of the hypothesis was correct, Yang and her colleagues partnered with the
Australian Institute of Sport to study the ACTN3 gene frequencies in elite athletes. Nan yang and her
colleagues genotyped 436 white controls from different sources (150 blood donors, 71 healthy
children, and 215 healthy adults). Within their control group, there were 292 females and 134 males.
In the experimental group, there were 429 elite white athletes (50 participates in the Olympics) from
14 different sports. In part two of their experiment, Nan Yang and her colleagues hypothesized that
due to the localization of ACTN3 in fast muscle fibers, the deficiency would reduce the performance
in sprint/power events which would mean that the ACTN3 gene would be less frequent within the elite
sprint athletes genes. In order to test this hypothesis out, Yang analyzed genotypes from 107 elite
athletes (72 male and 35 female) in a cohort blind study in which the athletes participated in

Essay On Modern English
Anglo Saxon period, from 5th century to 1066, became the ancestor of our modern literature. There is
a big difference from then and now including our language and culture.
First is the difference between their language and the language now which is modern English. Anglo
Saxon language is the oldest known form of English language and is also called as Old English. Even
though it is referred as old English, their language is far different from modern English and is closer to
modern German. The distinction can be seen, for example, on the old English word haftling, to the
modern English word prisoner. The similarities to modern German can be seen from the old English
haftling, not changing and still being haftling now. Their rich language was used on their great works
such as the four manuscripts and, of course, the majestic Beowullf. Old English influenced modern
English in some little ways. Old English, as the ancestor, evolved and modified making it less
noticeable now but it is actually used in our everyday lives.

becoming a nutritionist is not without its drawbacks, here are a few cons to consider before pursuing

little less than an average work week for others. Dietitians/Nutritionists have a very busy and lengthy

Summary Of Jumping Mouse
The myth of Jumping Mouse has been heard by many people of all different ages and backgrounds.
However, the story originated from an Aboriginal Religious background. The myth holds several
themes within it. The story begins with the mouse living an ordinary busy life, which every other
mouse seems to be content with. However, Jumping Mouse was so curious to find out more about life,
and the strange sounds he was hearing. When he asked his fellow mice about it they quickly dismissed
Jumping Mouse and continued about their routines. However, Jumping Mouse ventured out to explore
the unknown. During his venture, he came across several different guides such as: The racoon, frog,
old mouse, buffalo, and wolf. At the end of the story we see Jumping Mouse transform from a mouse
to an Eagle. I believe that the myth is a representation of our human struggle with being open minded/
taking risks. We are so caught up in our busy everyday lives that we forget to truly live our lives, and
realize our true potential. At the beginning of the story we have an ordinary mouse, but by the end of
the story our mouse transforms into an eagle. The buildup to the mouse s ... Show more content on

It is able to encourage discipline. Wearing school uniform that decided day by day in a week creates
spirit discipline towards students. Uniform schedules are given to the students for what kind of
uniform that they will wear that day indirectly, increase discipline. Students would feel must wear
uniform to school due to the schedules. By wearing uniform both students and parents do not have to
worry about time they spend for searching a match outfit to school. It also decreases morning debate
between parents and students. Everyone knows exactly what the kids need to wear based on the
schedule.
In addition, it also increases student s self confidence. Uniform makes no difference between students
and their environment in school. Students would feel more confident because everyone wears the
same outfit. It can make students keep focused on their education, not their clothes. When all students
are wearing the same outfit, they are less concerned about how they look or how they friends look so
they can concentrate on their school work. By wearing school uniform, students are given a freedom
to conceal their social s status. There would no annoying conversation due to students look like if they

How To Solve The Cuban Missile Crisis
In 1959, Cuban nationalist, Fidel Castro, sent his army into Havana and usurped General Batista, the
American supported President. The U.S. State Department and CIA, launched a full out invasion of
Cuba. Unfortunately, the invasion failed, greatly outnumbered by Castro s troops, the invaders
surrendered after less than a day of fighting. This failed invasion on Cuba to seize the Castro regime,
is called the Bay of Pigs invasion. In July of 1962, Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev made a secret
deal with Cuba to handle any future invasions. The benefit to the Soviet s was to place their nuclear
missiles on Cuban soil which was just 90 miles from American shores.
Evidence of the missiles location and its owners being Soviet was quickly discovered by the U.S..
President Kennedy released a public announcement warning the American nation about the dangerous
weapons in Cuba. On the 14th of October, a U.S. U 2 aircraft captured photographs of the sites for
medium and intermediate range of nuclear missiles. The pictures were shown to the White House soon
after and the Cuban Missile Crisis earned its name. The President called for his advisors to help weigh

The Necessary And Proper Clause And Its Effect On History
The Necessary and Proper Clause and Its Effect on History The Constitution was written in order to
replace the Articles of Confederation and create a centralized government. Times continue to change,
and therefore laws must be altered such to keep up with those changes. This was the sole purpose of
the amending process of the Constitution. The purpose of the very first amendment was to allow
Congress the authority to get involved with state powers that was not allowed at first. This article,
Article 1, has been very controversial and confusing at times. It has been a part of our judicial system
in judgment of laws and their necessity and still affects us today. Article I, Section 8 states The
Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and
provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United states, but all duties, imposts and
excises should be uniform throughout the United States. Overall, to make all laws which shall be
necessary and proper for carrying into execution the foreign powers, and all other powers vested by
this Constitution in the government of the United states, or in any department or office thereof
(law.cornell.edu). What exactly does this mean? The Framers of the Constitution were trying to protect
the states from foreign military warfare and commercial warfare against one another. This article gives

Designing A Client Server Application Abstract Distributed multiprocessor operating systems is a course that involves exploring new concepts in the field of operating systems and its internals. This course clearly elaborates the concepts of operating systems, distributed systems and internals and how are they utilized. It clearly explains how multiprocessors in operating systems are used in today s world. The course also involves a four phase project to create a client server application that demonstrates the usage and application of various concepts like reentrancy, synchronization, etc. operating systems. The project clearly introduces us to the concepts of distributed memories, remote procedure calls, shared memory, concurrency, etc. thereby leveraging our knowledge and ... As we all know, semaphores can be defined as the variables whose access are completely dependent on the wait and signal operations that are performed and are also termed as P and V [1]. It clearly explained the concepts of producer consumer problems, reader writers problems and also helped realizing the potential situations where the problem could actually arise and also taught the ways in which we could solve these problems. Reentrancy is another key concept that plays a key role in multiprocessor operating systems. It is under normal cases that multiple interrupts do occur in a system sometimes. At this point of time, we face certain situations where some of the functions need to be called back after the interrupt is handled, on the other hand similarly few of the other functions can be left unhandled [2]. This however depends on the particular situation that we need during the execution. Hence, calling a function back after the sudden interruption of its execution is called reentrancy [2]. Similarly, if the function is said to have an undefined behavior when it is called after an interrupt occurred, then it is said to be non reentrant function [2]. This project helped us to implement functions which can be reentrant. The project has been implemented in four different phases, where each phase acts as an input to the others. This indicates, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The theory has evolved for thousands of years and modern theorists, such as Michael Walzer, author of Just and Unjust Wars, puts forth criteria for a just war, such as jus ad bellum and jus in bello. Jus ad bellum includes reasons for going to war, and jus in bello deals with the people who wage war. The criteria in jus ad bellum include; just cause, declaration by a proper authority, right intention, a reasonable chance of success, the end proportional to the means, and war as a last resort. Jus in bello includes keeping innocents outside the field of war, and limiting the amount of force used. Just War Theorists ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Locke s State of nature the government s primary objective is to protect individuals. For example, if one was in a state of nature and a gang of savages attacked him or her, he or she would do anything necessary to defend themselves. They would then form a group with a common objective of protection. With life now insured, the group can pursue liberty, happiness and estate. Just War Theorists claim the governments of today are essentially the same, only on a larger scale. Walzer and other Just War Theorists hold that self defense justifies pre emptive strikes. If an outside force is obviously endangering a state, it is then justifiable to stop the attack before it happens. Pre emptive strikes can prevent a future war that has worse effects. Walzer has what he calls a general formula for a just pre emptive strike, States may use military force in the face of threats of war, wherever the failure to do so would seriously risk their territorial integrity and political independence (87). Walzer uses an example to justify his general formula of a justifiable pre emptive strike. He claims that the Six Day War in 1967 was indeed a just pre emptive attack on Egypt by Israel. Israel was under real threat because Egyptian President Nasser massed an army and was positioning for attack, while simultaneously closing the Straits of Tiran to Israel, and publicizing his goal to destroy Israel. • 7. Jane Eyre By Charlotte Bronte Following the experiences of Jane Eyre, Charlotte Bronte, expresses many elements of gothic literature throughout her novel Jane Eyre. In her perfect understanding of gothic literature, she expresses the three types of evil commonly found in gothic literature, including the evil of the supernatural, the evil within or the instinctual evil motives of humans, and lastly, the evil because of societal influence. Jane Eyre experiences all of these three evils with her aunt and three cousins with her residency and return to Gateshead: Jane encounters the supernatural and the evil of societal influence as a child and she fully encounters the evil within upon her return. As a child at Gateshead, one discovers the first form of evil in the novel with the negative interactions between Jane and her relatives, which sparks from both, physical inferiority, (Bronte 11) to her cousins, and as Bronte eventually states, her lack of money. Doing rather short work, the reader discovers Jane does not belong in Gateshead with her rich Aunt, Mrs. Reed, and her cousins, John, Georgina, and Eliza. Jane s three cousins cluster, around their mamma, (Bronte 11) in the opening of the novel, but Jane sits in solitary. She leaves to ask her aunt, What does Bessie say I have done? (Bronte 11); her aunt responds she likes children, who do not take up their elders, and Bronte implies, she likes good children, which becomes surprising with Jane s cousins later actions. The roots of teeth are embedded in the maxilla (upper jaw) or the mandible (lower jaw) and are covered by gums. Teeth are made of multiple tissues of varying density and hardness. Teeth are among the most distinctive (and long lasting) features of mammal species. Humans, like other mammals, are diphyodont, meaning that they develop two sets of teeth. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Depending on the extent of tooth destruction, various treatments can be used to restore teeth to proper form, function, and aesthetics, but there is no known method to regenerate large amounts of tooth structure. Instead, dental health organizations advocate preventive and prophylactic measures, such as regular oral hygiene and dietary modifications, to avoid dental caries. Causes There are four main criteria required for caries formation: a tooth surface (enamel or dentin); caries causing bacteria; fermentable carbohydrates (such as sucrose); and time. The caries process does not have an inevitable outcome, and different individuals will be susceptible to different degrees depending on the shape of their teeth, oral hygiene habits, and the buffering capacity of their saliva. Dental caries can occur on any surface of a tooth that is exposed to the oral cavity, but not the structures that are retained within the bone. All caries occurs from acid demineralization that exceeds saliva and fluoride remineralization, and almost all acid demineralization occurs where food (containing carbohydrate like sugar) is left on teeth. Though most trapped food is left between teeth, over 80% of cavities occur inside pits and fissures on chewing surfaces where brushing, fluoride, and saliva cannot reach to remineralize the tooth as they do on easy to reach surfaces that develop few cavities. There s the question of where the boundary between abuse and recreational play is drawn, where the psychological implications of the relationship becomes too much for the individual, but all of that can be boiled down to just a few points to explore. Once the understanding of limits, both soft and hard, has been reached, and the participants have given consent, play like that between Tom and Joe can begin. As Stear points out, the scenes that are engaged in are a form of make believe, one that gets very involved with the body, pleasure, and possibly even pain, but they are a fantasy nonetheless (29). I realized in reading this, how little I actually knew about Washington. The author describes him in such a way that gives you the understanding of why people were drawn to follow him. Nathaniel Green and Henry Knox were just as important as Washington throughout the war, Knox especially in the in the success of removing the British from Boston. • 16. Gender Roles In King Lear When observing gender in our society, women and men are stereotyped with specific roles. Men have always been seen as the family s main source of income whereas the women take care of their home and children. However, Shakespeare challenges these gender roles in his play with the three female characters Goneril, Regan, and Cordelia. While all three are independent, powerful women and even lead their armies into battle, the men seem to be foolish and weak such as King Lear and Albany. Furthermore, Mira cel Batran makes a point in her essay, Feminist Reading of William Shakespeare s King Lear , that although women are regarded as dependent on men, Shakespeare explains that it can be the exact opposite. The men seem to depend on the women such as King Lear depending on Cordelia and Albany depending on Goneril. Shakespeare, in his play, King Lear, portrays women who are strong and intelligent and men who are weak or overpowered by female characters, challenging the societal belief that women are inherently less than or dependent on men. Firstly, the entire play is structured around the women and what they do. If Shakespeare was not trying to make a claim on gender roles then he would not have added merely three women. Right from the beginning, King Lear is foolish enough to think that giving his kingdom away would be wise. The play from then on revolves around Cordelia s defiance and Regan and Goneril s hypocritic actions towards their father. In other words, Shakespeare ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

If the suspect was a juvenile, they would go into the juvenile justice system. Next is the prosecution; charging, initial appearance, preliminary hearing, and indictment or information. • 18. Female Characters In And Then There Were None Women. They are a complete mystery, said the revolutionary physicist Stephen Hawking. In the novel And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie, it is apparent that the female characters are portrayed in a manner that is both derogatory and stereotypical. Whether the incidents include a fellow character or the author directly using offensive insults, portrayals of hysteria or weakness compared to the males, or downright treating the female protagonists like objects or things, they are sometimes cruel and unnecessary. Throughout And Then There Were None, the female characters are described through hurtful stereotypes, objectification, and psychotic behaviors that may not be appropriate for impressionable young minds to be reading about, despite others suggesting otherwise. One of the largest problems with And Then There Were None is the use of offensive and hurtful stereotypes while referring to the women in the novel, as well as indirectly stating that all women should be homemakers who cook and clean. With a pioneering female writer such as Agatha Christie, you would not necessarily expect such blaring misogyny, but it remains all the same. On a broader note, the three main female characters are each stereotypes of the crazy woman one following under her husband even for cruelty, one being bible crazy, and one being so in love she is willing to literally kill anyone who stands in her way. More specifically, when William Blore is analyzing the death of Mrs. Rogers, he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 20. Epistemology Vs Social Contract Theory It would appear that the TF article is seeking an ideal theory that aligns with their staunch ideology. The ontological depth of this ideology holds an interesting component grounded within an epistemology of ignorance. For example, imagine the tax code as being a contract with signatories and non signatories. This contract, similar to social contract theory, is a binding agreement that attempts to maintain the status quo of the agreements made within the contract. However, I want to pose something entirely different with this contract. I believe this contract has written itself out of formal existence, but continues to have stark ideological/educational effects upon every level of the socio economic classes. The signatories are conveyed as being consensual and rightly so due to this flipped epistemology. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Likewise, the beneficiaries give the contract flexibility by adapting the way in which it can continue the unequal system of burden and benefit for other socio economic classes. I believe this is unintentional as it would follow the epistemology of ignorance that constructs an illusion of reaching equality by taxing the one percent, but similarly allows furthering the inequalities by establishing loopholes and policies aimed at maintaining equilibrium. Starting from moral ground zero in the complexity of this issue appears impossible, but I agree with you that this issue has enormous ontological depth that seems impossible to penetrate. Implementing a Rawlsian notion of distributive justice is opaque and obscure as it doesn t necessarily follow the concrete evidence presented by NYT. Mineralocorticoids= The name mineralocorticoid derives from early observations that these hormones were involved in the retention of sodium, a mineral. The primary endogenous mineralocorticoid is aldosterone, although a number of other endogenous hormones (including progesterone and deoxycorticosterone) have mineralocorticoid function. Aldosterone acts on the kidneys to provide active reabsorption of sodium and an associated passive reabsorption of water, as well as the active secretion of potassium in the principal cells of the cortical collecting tubule and active secretion of protons via proton ATPases in the lumenal membrane of the intercalated cells of the collecting tubule. This in turn results in an increase of blood pressure and blood volume. Glucocortiocoids= Glucocorticoids (GC) are a class of steroid hormones that bind to the glucocorticoid receptor, which is present in almost every vertebrate animal cell. GCs are part of the feedback mechanism in the immune system that turns immune activity (inflammation) down. Athletic Performance Research Paper In the research paper, ACTN3 Genotype Is Associated with Human Elite Athletic Performance by Nan Yang and his colleagues, the idea of athleticism is inheritable is explored. Nan Yang first explains that there are a plethora of studies and evidence that illustrates that athletic performance is highly influenced by the genetics of an individual. Also apparently studies have shown that there is some sort of evolutionary trade off between traits that encode for speed and endurance. Now looking at the genome of a human, studies have discovered that the actin binding protein alpha actinin 3 is absent in the majority of the general population due to a stop codon in ACTN3. Alpha actinins are a family of proteins that encode for two types of skeletal muscle proteins: ACTN2 (in fibers) and ACTN3 (in fast fibers). Over the years evidence has elucidated that ... There is a big difference from then and now including our language and culture. First is the difference between their language and the language now which is modern English. Anglo Saxon language is the oldest known form of English language and is also called as Old English. Even though it is referred as old English, their language is far different from modern English and is closer to modern German. The distinction can be seen, for example, on the old English word haftling, to the modern English word prisoner. The similarities to modern German can be seen from the old English haftling, not changing and still being haftling now. Their rich language was used on their great works such as the four manuscripts and, of course, the majestic Beowullf. Old English influenced modern English in some little ways.
