San Elizario
San Elizario is a beautiful small town, with a loving and united community. It has a historical
background in which it makes it even more special. We see many tourists hang at the Placita where the
chapel is located but I am sure the tourists are aware of the surroundings, like the houses, and the
streets, they are not pleasurable to watch. There is countless of trash around the streets, also including
the houses front yards. I come to propose if we put more trash cans all around town, there would be
less littering. To increase sanitation, we can set up community walks at least once a month, to clean
our yards and the streets around the area we live in. As a result, the entire community will benefit by
this cleanup project. For this to happen, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

children to throw trash in the trash can and not on the floor, but set the example first. It all starts at

Maus Essay On Human Nature
As time goes by one would think the world is evolving in a positive manner. With all the new
technology and new resources, we would assume to be better people than the generation before us.
Many would argue that we are better because we are always well informed by the tabloids and social
media of what is happening in the world. Unfortunately, we as humans are evolving in a negative
manner. Our human nature since generations before us show how cruel we are. In the book, Maus
written by Art Spiegelman shows us how malicious and inhuman people can treat each other. The
novel illuminates our understanding of human nature as being evil as well as deceiving individuals,
who do not act to better the world as time goes on. In the comic, Jews were sent to concentration
camps but before they left a riot downtown was described. Vladek said ...Everyone Yelling, Jews Out!
Jews out! ...even two people killed. The police just watched! (Spiegelman 37). The quote shows how
people are constantly being influenced when a higher authority figure has more power than them. In
this instance, Hitler had the authority and did not want the best for Jews. Police are to keep everyone
safe and control chaos. As we can see in the quote above, the ... Show more content on

Dress Code Essay
Let s be honest, there is a common problem throughout many high schools. What is it you say? The
answer is dress codes. A set of rules specifying the garb or type of clothing to be worn by a group or
by people under specific circumstances (Dictionary.com). School are failing to address equally among
women, but shame and sexualize their bodies. Social media post and news broadcast are storming the
nation as more and more situations with girls being called out for breaking the dress code. This is
something not just another problem the country should push aside, but to confront it and find a way to

1044). The author points out that women s body are objectified and with dress codes it enhances the
spotlight on parts of the females that would typically not be considered sexual shoulders. It has been
said over and over again that the way these girls are dressing is a cause for a distraction for the male
students (Zhou, 2015, para.11). In a way schools are allowing students to continue this behavior for
their future, making judgements on females based on what they are wearing. This is where rape
culture comes into play. Dress codes serve to normalize rape culture, as women are pushed to feel
ashamed of their body and what they show, as innocence as it may seem. Sarah Gordon, a Girl Up
Teen advisor, says rape culture, a building block of the patriarchy, says that men have the license to do
almost anything they want, that women are temptresses, and that if a woman is a victim to a man s
assault/harassment/rape, it is her fault (2016, para. 16). Putting dress codes into play allow to continue
the belief that women and girls are sexual objects and should be defined by that. Putting less stress on
what a woman is wearing will allow stronger, happier women.

Case Study On Cross Border Merger And Acquisition
Cross border merger and acquisition become a fundamental characteristic of the global business
landscape. With the increasing significance of globalization in business sector, it is one of the quickest
ways to achieve the objective. This phenomenon is not only noticeable in the developed country like
American, Europe and Japan but also in the developing market like India. Since, 1991 the period of
liberalization has influenced functioning of Indian corporate enterprise. This growing trend towards
cross border merger acquisition has raised new urgency to understand and manage the tax
consequences of international expansion.
The global market for these transactions has been expanded very firstly beyond the regulatory each of

Like-A-Girl Campaign
I am very familiar with P G s Always Like a Girl campaign. I remember watching that commercial
and acknowledging the greatness behind it. As a tomboy growing up, I was always at the receiving
end of jokes because I was not girly enough; this campaign s initial interpretation of stereotypical
responses regarding girls was eye opening. Seriously, when did being a girl become an insult? My
daughter was in high school when this campaign was published. Even my teenager, the star basketball
player, acknowledged the importance of this campaign because she worked with young girls in the
summer and always told them they could be anything they wanted to be because being a girl did not

Of course, the feminine care product brand is not without challenges. In an industry where there is

Concept Of Market Failure And Its Aspects On Allocation,...
The goal of this essay is to introduce the concept of market failure and what might happen if
government intervention is prosecuted. Also this essay will acknowledge the different aspects of one
of the major topics in economics the scarce of resources and it s aspects: allocation, production, and
distribution. Furthermore in this writing academic literature and articles would be used in order to
defend the outcome of the discussion about government intervention in the market.
Economics are a complex matter which alters in time. Economics can be also defined as the science
which studies human behavoir as a relation between ends and scarce means which have alternative
uses (L.Robbins,1935,p.495) In other words economics are a study of how to allocate, product, and
distribute goods among the people. Economics as any other science faces problems which need to be
viewed in depth in order to be resolved. Some of the main issues faced are the scarce of resources and
when is the government intervention required.
The issue of government interference in the economy is considered more than two centuries. One of
the main reasons for intervention are market failures, with manifest limitations of the market
mechanism, leading to inefficiency in allocation, production and distribution of resources.
In order to understand how the market failure accumulates and is government intervention the best
choice to deal with market crisis, specific attention should be given to the scarcity of

Christian Mysticism In Canto 27 Of Dante s Purgatorio
In Canto 27 of Dante s Purgatorio, Dante travels through the terrace of lust along with his guide Virgil
and Statius, a poet newly released from Purgatory beginningand begins a transition from an epic mode
to a lyric one. Oddly, reparation for the sin of lust draws Dante back to his past as a lyric love poet,
although such a life is notorious for its connotations with sensuality. However, this placement
indicates a central theme of the Divine Comedy: to ascend to God, Dante must learn to love Him.
Although classic Christian mysticism, such as that of St. Augustine s Confessions, seeks union with
God through abandonment of earthly goods, Dante can only reach the Divine through the guidance of
his old love, the beautiful and saintly Beatrice. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dante exults: desire upon desire so seized me to ascend / that with every step / I felt that I was
growing wings for flight (27.121 123). Dante s excitement for ascent echoes and expounds upon St.
Augustine s ascent at Ostia. However, there is a crucial difference between the two, for Augustine
describes his ascent as the very soul [growing] silent to herself and...mounting beyond self
(Confessions, 9.10): leaving behind everything earthly to participate in eternal bliss. He says that
earthly things all grew silent, and in their silence He alone spoke to us, not by them but by Himself

UFO and Alien Sightings
UFO and Alien sightings One of the most interesting topics to think about is if we really alone in this
world. Many people believe that aliens do not exist, and many people believe that aliens do exist.
Some people claim to have been abducted, and some people believe it is crazy to say other life forms
may exist out there. Interesting enough, many signs do point to the existence of extraterrestrial life
forms. Many examples of Alien and UFO sightings include, such as spaceship wreckage, recorded
sightings in the sky, and Alien life forms found on Earth and other planets. To begin with, reported
Alien sightings continue to surface. The 1947 Roswell incident is a great example of a UFO sighting.
An unidentified flying object crashed on a ranch northwest of Roswell, New Mexico, sometime during
the first week of July 1947 ( 1947 Roswell UFO Incident ). Brazel said that as they rode along, he
began to notice unusual pieces of what seemed to be metal debris scattered over a large area. Upon
further inspection, he said, he noticed a shallow trench several hundred feet long gouged into the
ground ( 1947 Roswell UFO Incident ). And, according to Marcel, the debris was strewn over a wide
area, I guess maybe three quarters of a mile long and a few hundred feet wide. Scattered in the debris
were small bits of metal that Marcel held a cigarette lighter to, to see if it would burn ( 1947 Roswell
UFO Incident ). The Proctors told Brazel he might be holding wreckage from an alien

Transmission Of Human Immunodeficiency Virus ( Hiv )
Huge strides in the United States in controlling the rate of transmission of human immunodeficiency
virus (HIV) has been made resulting in a significant decrease of its incidence since the epidemic
advent. During the epidemic s height in the 1980s of the United States, the CDC estimated its
incidence at about 150,000 new infections per year. This figure plateaued and dropped significantly
during the 1990s due to introduction of highly effective antiviral treatments and due to a overall public
cultural shift with promotion of HIV education, HIV testing, and condom use, especially among the
LGBT community which was affected disproportionately by HIV infection. However, during the
2000s, a small, growing trend of incidence rates was seen, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was estimated that between the years of 2006 and 2009 alone, the number of new HIV infections
among all 13 to 24 year olds due to male to male sexual contact increased from 61% to 71%,
respectively. This has many implications for public health efforts because previously those most
affected by HIV infection were adult men who have sex with men (MSM). The current research and
work to reduce HIV is therefore mainly aimed at the MSM population, which may not translate to
curbing infection rates in YMSM. In fact, studies that have looked at individual risk factors (i.e.
unprotected anal intercourse, or UAI) seen in MSM populations as associated to increased risk of HIV
infection among YMSM have found large inconsistencies. Current theories in the literature suggest
that individual characteristics, social norms, and behavioral patterns within the YMSM population are
highly interrelated and evolving, and individually can not predict accurately who among the YMSM
population is at most risk. One particular compounding variable is the growing use of technology.
YMSM are using technology (i.e. GPS compatible smartphones) to seek sexual partners which is
largely changing their constructed social environment and relationship patterns. Therefore, there is a
call to use a more multivariate model of risks to better understand useful preventative strategies to

The objective of my research is to study the use of Information Technology and particularly ERP

IT and large Information Systems were used only by large organizations. That was the time when the
cost of technology was high and the mid size and large organizations were not able to afford the high
cost of ERP systems (Vieru, 2015). With time, the cost of computing has come down. Today, ERP
systems are also used as a service. With the penetration of Internet and cloud computing, small size

The primary research would mean the data collection and analysis directly from the individuals. The

that it would be slightly difficult to do the primary research as the responses of individuals could be
biased. To complete the primary research, I would form a small

Theory that D.B Cooper Died Before people can start developing different theories about D.B Cooper,
we first have to ask ourselves whether he survive the jump. As the FBI investigates this possibility,
they discover more and more about the mysterious D.B Cooper. We originally thought Cooper was an
experienced jumper, perhaps even a paratrooper, says Special Agent Carr. However, after a few years
of research and investigation, the FBI soon discovers that this could not true. According to the FBI,
there was no trained paratrooper who could have jumped in the rain, in complete darkness, with a 200
mph wind, and survive. Even if D.B Cooper somehow managed to survived the jump, there was no
way he could have survived in the middle of the forest without any supplies during the winter time.
The FBI is almost positive that he had no one waiting for him after the jump. One reason why they
believe this is that there would have been no way for anyone to track his location because no one
could have known exactly where he landed. According to Agent Carr, he jumped at a random location
with no ground visibility. Finally after many years of investigation, Special Agent Carr came to the
conclusion that D.B Cooper did not survive the

The Pros And Cons Of Child Pornography
In most states, teenagers who send or receive sexually explicit photographs via cell
phone, known as sexting , risk felony child pornography charges and the stigma of being listed
on the sex offender registry for life. The fact that sexting can fall under child pornography laws
has created some heated conversations and understandably so. There are numerous thoughts and
opinions on the matter. The majority of the time, sexting in teenagers isn t meant to be
malicious, isn t child pornography therefore shouldn t carry such a like punishment.
Teenagers sending a sext to another teenager isn t meant as a malicious act but rather a
way of flirting and letting the other person know they are interested in them in most cases.
While this behavior may cross moral lines it should not ruin their lives as a blatant crossing of
legal lines. If messages containing sexually explicit pictures, or videos are sent between teens
are meant to hurt someones reputation then that is a different story. Many states today are
struggling to write laws that create clear lines regarding this problem. Sexting can be very
serious and certainly needs to be addressed however, in the meantime, we cannot be putting
children behinds bars or labeling them as sex offenders.
Typical teenage sexting is not child pornography. Child pornography is a criminal
offense and is defined by HG.org as any visual depiction involving the use of a minor, or one
appearing to be a minor, engaging in sexually explicit conduct. Visual depictions include
photographs, film, video, pictures or computer generated images or pictures, whether made or
produced by electronic, mechanical, or other means. This is a clear definition of an act. Sexting
with teenagers today is more of a flirtatious way to start a relationship or to maintain a
3
relationship with another teenager. Most sext messages contain images meant to entice the other
person into wanting to spend more time with the sending individual. They are desires to
attract another, not images of sexual acts and therefore should not be considered child
pornography.
Sexting laws are very new and are not clearly defined yet, therefore should not

Federalist 10 Summary
In Federalist 10 , James Madison explains and protects the checks and balances system in the
Constitution of the United States. He says how each branch of our government is outlined so that its
power checks the powers of the two other branches. He explains this by stating that there are factions,
a majority faction and a minority faction. These factions are unified by a common belief or interest,
and aim to protect the rights or interests of their community. If the power of the majority went
unchecked, then the power they received could then be used to oppress the unpopular, or minority,
views. The majority could also use their new power to take away the rights given to the minority. It is
stated in Federalist 51 that ... all authority in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In many cases, there seems to be a biased when it comes to the rights of minorities when being
accused of crimes. Some believe minorities or people of color are pulled over or suspected more often
than whites, and others believe jurors can be biased when a minority person is being charged with a
crime. Either way, minorities seem to not be given the same fair treatment and rights when accused as
whites, or majorities, are given. For example, in Illinois v. Caballes 2005 the court ruled that the
Constitution did not require police to have reasonable suspicion to use a drug detection dog on a car
during a legal traffic stop. This may leave room for preferential treatment towards whites (majority)
who are seen making a traffic violation, and minorities who are seen making a traffic violation. A
police officer may see two cars speeding, one car with a white male driving and another car with a
Hispanic man driving, if he were to choose to pull over the Hispanic male and not pull over the while
male, then this can be seen as protecting the rights of the majorities over the minorities. (Illinois v.

Copyright Law
Copyright and Copywrong
This essay will first examine how copyright law has attempted to be strengthened in New Zealand,
and whether that has succeeded in preventing piracy. Next, how New Zealand s current copyright law
stifles creativity will be examined, with comparison to the United States jurisdiction. Lastly, the
benefits of reform regarding fair use will be discussed. Due to word constraints, examples of creativity
will be limited to parody within Pop Art.
Recent copyright reforms in New Zealand suggest a shift towards strengthening copyright protection,
favoured by copyright holders. For example, a three strikes regime acts against internet account

However, as technologies that foster copying have developed, as have Art movements that rely on
parody. The prime example is Pop Art which recontextualises existing works and items to comment on
society. This plays a key role in the digital age by allowing creative expression through original work.
For example, pop artist Jeff Koons appropriated Silk Sandals, a magazine photograph of shoes, in his
painting Niagara, depicting numerous consumer goods. When sued for copyright infringement, the
Court accepted fair use under its Copyright Act 1976, that Niagara was a criticism of consumerist
desires and the bombardment of advertising. This was considered a transformative use of the original
photograph to create new creative objectives and insights. Interestingly, this suggests that copyright is
protecting the idea of the work, as well as expression.
If the same case occurred in New Zealand, copyright would be infringed as Niagara reproduces Silk
Sandals substantially. Arguably, fair dealing for criticism might apply. Yet, this is untenable as an
incredibly high threshold of criticism would need to be shown. Thus, New Zealand s copyright law
regarding use is restricted for failure to align with technological changes. Society values remixed
innovation in parodies such as Pop Art. The law must be able to recognise this. New Zealand may
favour a fair dealing for parody exception as an expansion of our criticism exception. This is

Arnold Schwarzenenegger As A Hero
Not everyone is privileged with a god given talent, intelligence, or strength. In fact, many successful
people who achieve amazing dreams start from nearly nothing and depend solely on their
determination to reach their goals. Those people are outliers. Arnold Schwarzenegger is one such
person because he was born unquestionably small and was rejected as a child by his family, yet he
earned incredible achievements. Arnold Schwarzenegger s unending desire and tireless determination
allowed him to find a way to America and become an actor. Arnold reached his dream through
bodybuilding, becoming one of the most famous bodybuilders to ever compete and the reason
bodybuilding became so popular in the United States. Once he conquered the bodybuilding arena, he
was able to break into acting. Arnold s imposing and muscular stature meant he was the perfect
candidate for roles in action movies and he became one of the the most well known and popular action

Arnold Schwarzenegger was born in Thal, Styria, Austria on July 30th, 1947. He lived with his

to trim the bottom branches. With the earsplitting shriek of the chainsaw, and a few tense moments
later, the tree plummeted gracefully to the ground, and my father hoisted it up onto his shoulders,
propping it on the van before giving it a final shove onto the roof. I retrieved the string to tie it up
from the back seat. The bulky twine was surprisingly smooth to the touch, gliding comfortably
between my fingers as the ball unwound. Amazed by this, I promptly called out Daddy! Can I have a
piece?
The reply was of course a short laugh and an, Of course, pumpkin, from my father, as we finished
securing the tree and prepared to go home. The little coconut cream colored rope, now filled with the
dizzying aroma of pine, twirled smoothly between my fingers as I toyed with it dreamily, leaning
myself against the window and gazing at the immaculate, snow draped scenery sweeping by. A small
yawn escaped as the day came to its close, my eyes fluttering shut, and hands stopping their
movements. Sleep took me just as softly as it had let me go, an old friend leading me back to my
dreams aided by the subtle, thumping lullaby of returning

of Jews. They burned them, poisoned them, starved them and even shot them. While in Farewell to
Manzanar the United States put the Japanese Americans in internment camps, because they believed
that they could in some way contribute to Japan winning the war. Another difference is that The U.S.

How Is Estella A Dynamic Character
In Great Expectations, a novel written by Charles Dickens, the well portrayed characters play a big
role in conveying the story s message. One of them is Estella, a girl adopted by Miss Havisham, a rich,

very complex and dynamic character that has a tremendous impact on Pip s life Estella is very well
aware of her high social status, which is very evident from the way she speaks. Her first encounter

The Farmers Revolt Essay
DBQ 13: The Farmer s Revolt
Farmers were once known for being able to do everything themselves. They grew their own food and
sewed their own clothes. People often yearn for the old days and complain about so many people
living in cities. Many farmers had to give up their farms and move to the cities, because of something
that happened in the late nineteenth century.
High prices forced farmers to concentrate on one crop. The large scale farmers bought expensive
machines, increasing their crop yield. This caused the smaller farmers to be left behind. The small
farmers could no longer compete and were forced give up their farms and look for jobs in the cities.
The smaller farmers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1890 clergyman Washington Gladden wrote an article called The Embattled Farmers . In it he
blamed the ruin of the farmers on protective tariffs, trusts...speculation in farm products, over greedy
middlemen, and exorbitant transportation rates.
James Laurence Laughlin wrote an article Causes of Agricultural Unrest that was published in the
Atlantic Monthly. He wrote, the farmers, in all honesty, have attributed their misfortunes to the
constriction in prices , caused by lack of gold, not overproduction of their crops. He then went on to
explain how that could not be possible, and we simply have produced too much wheat. Poet Vachel
Lindsay wrote a poem concerning the subject, entitled, BRYAN, BRYAN, BRYAN, BRYAN: The
campaign of 1896 as viewed at the Time by a Sixteen Year Old, etc. In it he mentioned the Election at
midnight; Boy Bryan s defeat which was when the Populists lost the election. He then wrote Defeat of
the wheat; victory of the letterfiles and Defeat...[of] the blue bells of the Rockies, and the blue bonnets
of Texas, by the Pittsburgh alleys He was simply saying that the city people had defeated them and
would therefore get their way.
As the amount of crops produced increased, the prices paid for them decreased. This is shown by the
graphs, Production and Prices, 1860 1895 In 1860, only 1000 million bushels of corn was produced,
and the price per bushel was about $.65. By 1895 over 2500 million bushels

Symbols Of Kwanzaa Informative Speech
Kwanzaa is a unique African American celebration created by Dr. Maulana Karenga, professor at
California State University, Long Beach of Black Studies in 1966. Karenga was born in 1941 on a
farm in Parsonsburg, Maryland with his birth name Ronald McKinley Everett. Eventually, he changed
his name while teaching African culture classes to Maulana Karenga; Maulana (Swahili Arabic for
master teacher ) and Karenga (Swahili for keeper of tradition. In the 1960s, he urged an African

It represents the foundation of people gathering for African harvest festivals by placing nuts, fruit, and
vegetables, representing work, on the mkeka for unity and thanksgiving. The Mkeka, which is a place
mat made from straw or cloth, symbolizes the traditional foundation to stand on and build a better life.
People tend to reflect on history and what role to play as a legacy to the future. Also, the other six
symbols are placed directly on the mkeka during the celebration. The Vibunzi, which means the ear of
corn represents and symbolizes the reproduction of children and the future hopes of a family. Each ear
symbolizes a child in the family. Children are essential to Kwanzaa because they are the future to the
next generation. The Mishumaa Saba represents the seven candles that recreate the sun s power and to
provide light. The candles are distributed by one black, three red, and three green. The black candle
symbolizes Umoja and the three green candles symbolizes the Nia, Ujima, and Imani and are placed to
the right of the Umoja candle, while the three red candles, symbolizes Kujichagulia, Ujamaa, and
Kuumba, and are placed to the left of it. One candle lit represents the principle that is being
celebrated. The colors of the candles also have their own significant meaning. Red represents the
struggle for freedom for colored people. Black represents hope, creativity, and faith and denoting
messages and the opening and closing of doors. Green represents the earth that provides hope,
divination, employment, and the fruits of the harvest. The kinara, or the candleholder represents our
ancestry. It symbolizes the ancestors of our people and understand the problems of human life. The

Climate Condition:
Amazon rainforest has a tropical climate or also know as the equatorial climate. It is humid throughout
the year and has an average temperature of 28 degree celsius. We can not really divide the climate
between summer and winter as it has a annual temperature range of 2 degree celsius. The temperature
difference between day and night is about 2 to 5 degree celsius. The climate is not as hot as we may
except it rarely goes above 30 degree celsius. but the only trouble in the rainforest is the humidity
which causes a feeling of lack of air. Due to the humidity we can not really see a dry season in the
amazon as it rains thought out the year. We can divide rainfall in Amazon into into two parts rainy and
not so rainy.
If we look at the above climate table of the amazon basin we can find that the temperature is almost
constant throughout the year. But we can kind of divide rainfall in Amazon into rainy and not so rainy
. If we have a look at the above table between the months June to September we can call it not so rainy
and the rest of the months we can call it rainy. This is between October to May.
Flora and Fauna:
There are around 40,000 plants species, 427 mammals, 1,300 birds , 378 reptiles and 400 amphibians
and 3000 freshwater fishes. These are just the number of some big animals. But in fact if we count the
number of smaller life forms it will be way more the above number. There are more that 100,000

Psychology At The University Of Southern Mississippi
While studying psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi, I developed an interest in youth
psychological health and social well being. As an avid learner, I subsequently became interested in
clinical child research and joined Dr. Christopher T. Barry s Youth Personality and Behavior (YPB)
laboratory as a volunteer research assistant during my sophomore year of college. After learning the
dynamics of working in a research laboratory, and taking courses such as adolescent, social,
developmental, and personality psychology, my interest in interpersonal relationships, personality, and
mental health solidified. From then on, I sought to expand my experiences in undergraduate research.
For example, I participated in my first independent research experience at the University of Illinois at
Urbana Champaign through the Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP). I conducted
research in the clinical/community division of the psychology department, and my research focused
on how juvenile delinquency, ADHD, and perceptions of youth s control in choosing their own mental
health service impacted the magnitude of caregiver(s) strain. From my SROP experience, I learned a
wealth of information about tabulating data, from coding variables to running statistical analyses in
the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). SROP was a wonderful experience, and it
catalyzed my progress as an undergraduate researcher.
Shortly after my SROP experience, I began simultaneously

Ideally, CSR policy would function as a built in, self regulating mechanism whereby business would
monitor and ensure its support to law, ethical standards, and international norms. Consequently,
business would embrace responsibility for the impact of its activities on the environment, consumers,
employees, communities, stakeholders and all other members of the public sphere. Furthermore, CSR
focused businesses would proactively promote the public interest by encouraging community growth
and development, and voluntarily eliminating practices that harm the public sphere, regardless of
legality. Essentially, CSR is the deliberate inclusion of public interest into corporate decision making,
and the honoring of a triple bottom line: people, planet, profit.
Stakeholders are taking an increasing interest in the activity of the company. Most look to the outer
circle, that is, what the company has actually done, good or bad, in terms of its products and services,
in terms of its impact on the environment and on local communities, or in how it treats and develops

Summary Of Plutarch s Death Of Cleopatra
The extract from Plutarch s Life of Antony concentrates on Cleopatra s seduction of Antony. It
presents Cleopatra and her retinue as manipulative, Her [Cleopatra s] flatterers also worked hard upon
Antony at this time. They told him that he must be an insensitive brute with a heart of stone, for here
was a mistress who was utterly devoted to him alone . Plutarch: Makers of Rome also references

Plutarch opines that Cleopatra s ignominy of being Antony s concubine is tolerable if, [She] could see
him and spend her life with him.... if he drove her away it would be the death of her . Consequently,
melted and unmanned Antony returns to Alexandria fearing Cleopatra s suicide. In doing so, Antony
neglects his duties at Parthia, [With] Cleopatra s alarms, and arts upon the occasion. He puts off his

Internal Lobe Research Paper
There are four lobes that make up the complex organ that we call the brain. Each of these parts or
lobes have different functions that range from reasoning to auditory perception and make that
particular person so unique. Some people have stronger and well more developed lobes in which is
why not everyone is the same and could mean one section is inferior to the rest. To begin with, the
frontal lob, which is located in the front of the human head, is associated with reasoning, higher level
cognition, language, and motor skills. Behind the frontal lobe lies the motor cortex in which is the part
where the brain receives an ample amount of information. The information that was mentioned are
from various lobes of the brain and helps the body with movements. Another section of the brain,
located in the middle is called the parietal lobe. This lobe, is in charge of processing tactile sensory
information. Touch, pain, and pressure are essential to a persons everyday life and without it could
lead to naturalistic numbness. A portion of the brain, known as the somatosensory cortex, is located in

headquarters, but on the other side of the James River in Gloucester there were only 1,000 British
troops to protect the fort against 3,000 French, and troops from the continental army. The Patriots set
up a hospital 2 miles southeast from British lines, this is convenient because they didn t have to go a
long way for a medic.
The British soldiers were cornered because the Continental Army attacked from all sides. The
Continental Army did what was the worst that could happen to the British during the Revolutionary
War.On September 20th the Continental Army reached Yorktown and started to attack. The
Continental Army set up a camp far outside the lines of the British Headquarters so the continental
army could get new supplies so just in case of an attack from the land they would be able to access
goods from water. The French army also had flooded the James river with their naval boats
surrounding the British army from all sides. These boats played a key role in the battle of Yorktown not
only because they were bombarding the Yorktown

  • 3. San Elizario San Elizario is a beautiful small town, with a loving and united community. It has a historical background in which it makes it even more special. We see many tourists hang at the Placita where the chapel is located but I am sure the tourists are aware of the surroundings, like the houses, and the streets, they are not pleasurable to watch. There is countless of trash around the streets, also including the houses front yards. I come to propose if we put more trash cans all around town, there would be less littering. To increase sanitation, we can set up community walks at least once a month, to clean our yards and the streets around the area we live in. As a result, the entire community will benefit by this cleanup project. For this to happen, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Encourage your children to throw trash in the trash can and not on the floor, but set the example first. It all starts at home; I encourage for you to clean your yard, like picking up trash and cutting weeds. As a result, I guarantee your kids will watch and will get motivated to do it too, and who knows your actions can even motivate a neighbor. • 4. Maus Essay On Human Nature As time goes by one would think the world is evolving in a positive manner. With all the new technology and new resources, we would assume to be better people than the generation before us. Many would argue that we are better because we are always well informed by the tabloids and social media of what is happening in the world. Unfortunately, we as humans are evolving in a negative manner. Our human nature since generations before us show how cruel we are. In the book, Maus written by Art Spiegelman shows us how malicious and inhuman people can treat each other. The novel illuminates our understanding of human nature as being evil as well as deceiving individuals, who do not act to better the world as time goes on. In the comic, Jews were sent to concentration camps but before they left a riot downtown was described. Vladek said ...Everyone Yelling, Jews Out! Jews out! ...even two people killed. The police just watched! (Spiegelman 37). The quote shows how people are constantly being influenced when a higher authority figure has more power than them. In this instance, Hitler had the authority and did not want the best for Jews. Police are to keep everyone safe and control chaos. As we can see in the quote above, the ... School are failing to address equally among women, but shame and sexualize their bodies. Social media post and news broadcast are storming the nation as more and more situations with girls being called out for breaking the dress code. The author points out that women s body are objectified and with dress codes it enhances the spotlight on parts of the females that would typically not be considered sexual shoulders. It has been said over and over again that the way these girls are dressing is a cause for a distraction for the male students (Zhou, 2015, para.11). In a way schools are allowing students to continue this behavior for their future, making judgements on females based on what they are wearing. This is where rape culture comes into play. Dress codes serve to normalize rape culture, as women are pushed to feel ashamed of their body and what they show, as innocence as it may seem. Sarah Gordon, a Girl Up Teen advisor, says rape culture, a building block of the patriarchy, says that men have the license to do almost anything they want, that women are temptresses, and that if a woman is a victim to a man s assault/harassment/rape, it is her fault (2016, para. 16). Putting dress codes into play allow to continue the belief that women and girls are sexual objects and should be defined by that. Putting less stress on what a woman is wearing will allow stronger, happier women. I believe that my demographics have an influence on my opinions, specially on this topic. Being a ... As a tomboy growing up, I was always at the receiving end of jokes because I was not girly enough; this campaign s initial interpretation of stereotypical responses regarding girls was eye opening. Seriously, when did being a girl become an insult? My daughter was in high school when this campaign was published. • 8. Concept Of Market Failure And Its Aspects On Allocation,... The goal of this essay is to introduce the concept of market failure and what might happen if government intervention is prosecuted. Also this essay will acknowledge the different aspects of one of the major topics in economics the scarce of resources and it s aspects: allocation, production, and distribution. Furthermore in this writing academic literature and articles would be used in order to defend the outcome of the discussion about government intervention in the market. Economics are a complex matter which alters in time. Economics can be also defined as the science which studies human behavoir as a relation between ends and scarce means which have alternative uses (L.Robbins,1935,p.495) In other words economics are a study of how to allocate, product, and distribute goods among the people. Economics as any other science faces problems which need to be viewed in depth in order to be resolved. Some of the main issues faced are the scarce of resources and when is the government intervention required. The issue of government interference in the economy is considered more than two centuries. One of the main reasons for intervention are market failures, with manifest limitations of the market mechanism, leading to inefficiency in allocation, production and distribution of resources. In order to understand how the market failure accumulates and is government intervention the best choice to deal with market crisis, specific attention should be given to the scarcity of ... Christian Mysticism In Canto 27 Of Dante s Purgatorio In Canto 27 of Dante s Purgatorio, Dante travels through the terrace of lust along with his guide Virgil and Statius, a poet newly released from Purgatory beginningand begins a transition from an epic mode to a lyric one. Oddly, reparation for the sin of lust draws Dante back to his past as a lyric love poet, although such a life is notorious for its connotations with sensuality. However, this placement indicates a central theme of the Divine Comedy: to ascend to God, Dante must learn to love Him. Although classic Christian mysticism, such as that of St. Augustine s Confessions, seeks union with God through abandonment of earthly goods, Dante can only reach the Divine through the guidance of his old love, the beautiful and saintly Beatrice. ... • 10. UFO and Alien Sightings UFO and Alien sightings One of the most interesting topics to think about is if we really alone in this world. Many people believe that aliens do not exist, and many people believe that aliens do exist. Some people claim to have been abducted, and some people believe it is crazy to say other life forms may exist out there. Interesting enough, many signs do point to the existence of extraterrestrial life forms. Many examples of Alien and UFO sightings include, such as spaceship wreckage, recorded sightings in the sky, and Alien life forms found on Earth and other planets. To begin with, reported Alien sightings continue to surface. The 1947 Roswell incident is a great example of a UFO sighting. An unidentified flying object crashed on a ranch northwest of Roswell, New Mexico, sometime during the first week of July 1947 ( 1947 Roswell UFO Incident ). Brazel said that as they rode along, he began to notice unusual pieces of what seemed to be metal debris scattered over a large area. Upon further inspection, he said, he noticed a shallow trench several hundred feet long gouged into the ground ( 1947 Roswell UFO Incident ). And, according to Marcel, the debris was strewn over a wide area, I guess maybe three quarters of a mile long and a few hundred feet wide. Scattered in the debris were small bits of metal that Marcel held a cigarette lighter to, to see if it would burn ( 1947 Roswell UFO Incident ). • 11. Transmission Of Human Immunodeficiency Virus ( Hiv ) Huge strides in the United States in controlling the rate of transmission of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) has been made resulting in a significant decrease of its incidence since the epidemic advent. During the epidemic s height in the 1980s of the United States, the CDC estimated its incidence at about 150,000 new infections per year. This figure plateaued and dropped significantly during the 1990s due to introduction of highly effective antiviral treatments and due to a overall public cultural shift with promotion of HIV education, HIV testing, and condom use, especially among the LGBT community which was affected disproportionately by HIV infection. However, during the 2000s, a small, growing trend of incidence rates was seen, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was estimated that between the years of 2006 and 2009 alone, the number of new HIV infections among all 13 to 24 year olds due to male to male sexual contact increased from 61% to 71%, respectively. This has many implications for public health efforts because previously those most affected by HIV infection were adult men who have sex with men (MSM). The current research and work to reduce HIV is therefore mainly aimed at the MSM population, which may not translate to curbing infection rates in YMSM. In fact, studies that have looked at individual risk factors (i.e. unprotected anal intercourse, or UAI) seen in MSM populations as associated to increased risk of HIV infection among YMSM have found large inconsistencies. Current theories in the literature suggest that individual characteristics, social norms, and behavioral patterns within the YMSM population are highly interrelated and evolving, and individually can not predict accurately who among the YMSM population is at most risk. One particular compounding variable is the growing use of technology. YMSM are using technology (i.e. GPS compatible smartphones) to seek sexual partners which is largely changing their constructed social environment and relationship patterns. Therefore, there is a call to use a more multivariate model of risks to better understand useful preventative strategies to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We originally thought Cooper was an experienced jumper, perhaps even a paratrooper, says Special Agent Carr. However, after a few years of research and investigation, the FBI soon discovers that this could not true. According to the FBI, there was no trained paratrooper who could have jumped in the rain, in complete darkness, with a 200 mph wind, and survive. Even if D.B Cooper somehow managed to survived the jump, there was no way he could have survived in the middle of the forest without any supplies during the winter time. The FBI is almost positive that he had no one waiting for him after the jump. One reason why they believe this is that there would have been no way for anyone to track his location because no one could have known exactly where he landed. According to Agent Carr, he jumped at a random location with no ground visibility. Finally after many years of investigation, Special Agent Carr came to the conclusion that D.B Cooper did not survive the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. The Pros And Cons Of Child Pornography In most states, teenagers who send or receive sexually explicit photographs via cell phone, known as sexting , risk felony child pornography charges and the stigma of being listed on the sex offender registry for life. The fact that sexting can fall under child pornography laws has created some heated conversations and understandably so. There are numerous thoughts and opinions on the matter. The majority of the time, sexting in teenagers isn t meant to be malicious, isn t child pornography therefore shouldn t carry such a like punishment. Teenagers sending a sext to another teenager isn t meant as a malicious act but rather a way of flirting and letting the other person know they are interested in them in most cases. While this behavior may cross moral lines it should not ruin their lives as a blatant crossing of legal lines. If messages containing sexually explicit pictures, or videos are sent between teens are meant to hurt someones reputation then that is a different story. Many states today are struggling to write laws that create clear lines regarding this problem. Sexting can be very serious and certainly needs to be addressed however, in the meantime, we cannot be putting children behinds bars or labeling them as sex offenders. Typical teenage sexting is not child pornography. Child pornography is a criminal offense and is defined by HG.org as any visual depiction involving the use of a minor, or one appearing to be a minor, engaging in sexually explicit conduct. Visual depictions include photographs, film, video, pictures or computer generated images or pictures, whether made or produced by electronic, mechanical, or other means. This is a clear definition of an act. Sexting with teenagers today is more of a flirtatious way to start a relationship or to maintain a

  • 16. Federalist 10 Summary In Federalist 10 , James Madison explains and protects the checks and balances system in the Constitution of the United States. He says how each branch of our government is outlined so that its power checks the powers of the two other branches. He explains this by stating that there are factions, a majority faction and a minority faction. These factions are unified by a common belief or interest, and aim to protect the rights or interests of their community. If the power of the majority went unchecked, then the power they received could then be used to oppress the unpopular, or minority, views. The majority could also use their new power to take away the rights given to the minority. It is stated in Federalist 51 that ... all authority in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In many cases, there seems to be a biased when it comes to the rights of minorities when being accused of crimes. Some believe minorities or people of color are pulled over or suspected more often than whites, and others believe jurors can be biased when a minority person is being charged with a crime. Either way, minorities seem to not be given the same fair treatment and rights when accused as whites, or majorities, are given. For example, in Illinois v. Caballes 2005 the court ruled that the Constitution did not require police to have reasonable suspicion to use a drug detection dog on a car during a legal traffic stop. This may leave room for preferential treatment towards whites (majority) who are seen making a traffic violation, and minorities who are seen making a traffic violation. A police officer may see two cars speeding, one car with a white male driving and another car with a Hispanic man driving, if he were to choose to pull over the Hispanic male and not pull over the while male, then this can be seen as protecting the rights of the majorities over the minorities. Next, how New Zealand s current copyright law stifles creativity will be examined, with comparison to the United States jurisdiction. Lastly, the benefits of reform regarding fair use will be discussed. Due to word constraints, examples of creativity will be limited to parody within Pop Art. Recent copyright reforms in New Zealand suggest a shift towards strengthening copyright protection, favoured by copyright holders. For example, a three strikes regime acts against internet account holders who either upload or download copyrighted content. Prosecution has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, as technologies that foster copying have developed, as have Art movements that rely on parody. The prime example is Pop Art which recontextualises existing works and items to comment on society. This plays a key role in the digital age by allowing creative expression through original work. For example, pop artist Jeff Koons appropriated Silk Sandals, a magazine photograph of shoes, in his painting Niagara, depicting numerous consumer goods. When sued for copyright infringement, the Court accepted fair use under its Copyright Act 1976, that Niagara was a criticism of consumerist desires and the bombardment of advertising. This was considered a transformative use of the original photograph to create new creative objectives and insights. Interestingly, this suggests that copyright is protecting the idea of the work, as well as expression. If the same case occurred in New Zealand, copyright would be infringed as Niagara reproduces Silk Sandals substantially. Arguably, fair dealing for criticism might apply. Yet, this is untenable as an incredibly high threshold of criticism would need to be shown. Thus, New Zealand s copyright law regarding use is restricted for failure to align with technological changes. Society values remixed innovation in parodies such as Pop Art. The law must be able to recognise this. New Zealand may favour a fair dealing for parody exception as an expansion of our criticism exception. This is supported by a ... Barry s Youth Personality and Behavior (YPB) laboratory as a volunteer research assistant during my sophomore year of college. After learning the dynamics of working in a research laboratory, and taking courses such as adolescent, social, developmental, and personality psychology, my interest in interpersonal relationships, personality, and mental health solidified. From then on, I sought to expand my experiences in undergraduate research. For example, I participated in my first independent research experience at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign through the Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP). I conducted research in the clinical/community division of the psychology department, and my research focused on how juvenile delinquency, ADHD, and perceptions of youth s control in choosing their own mental health service impacted the magnitude of caregiver(s) strain. From my SROP experience, I learned a wealth of information about tabulating data, from coding variables to running statistical analyses in the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). SROP was a wonderful experience, and it catalyzed my progress as an undergraduate researcher. Shortly after my SROP experience, I began simultaneously ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Furthermore, CSR focused businesses would proactively promote the public interest by encouraging community growth and development, and voluntarily eliminating practices that harm the public sphere, regardless of legality. Essentially, CSR is the deliberate inclusion of public interest into corporate decision making, and the honoring of a triple bottom line: people, planet, profit. Stakeholders are taking an increasing interest in the activity of the company. Most look to the outer circle, that is, what the company has actually done, good or bad, in terms of its products and services, in terms of its impact on the environment and on local communities, or in how it treats and develops its workforce. Out of the various stakeholders, it is financial analysts who are predominantly focused as well as past financial performance on quality of management as an indicator of likely future performance. • 41. Internal Lobe Research Paper There are four lobes that make up the complex organ that we call the brain. Each of these parts or lobes have different functions that range from reasoning to auditory perception and make that particular person so unique. Some people have stronger and well more developed lobes in which is why not everyone is the same and could mean one section is inferior to the rest. To begin with, the frontal lob, which is located in the front of the human head, is associated with reasoning, higher level cognition, language, and motor skills. Behind the frontal lobe lies the motor cortex in which is the part where the brain receives an ample amount of information. The information that was mentioned are from various lobes of the brain and helps the body with movements. Another section of the brain, located in the middle is called the parietal lobe. This lobe, is in charge of processing tactile sensory information. Touch, pain, and pressure are essential to a persons everyday life and without it could lead to naturalistic numbness. A portion of the brain, known as the somatosensory cortex, is located in this major lobe and helps to the stages of processing body senses.
