The Ethics Of Environmental Ethics
Environmental Ethics This research will be based on two types of theories. These theories will be the
guiding approaches that will be used in order to come up with the real issue at hand and also be able to
provide a solution for the same. The first of the two approaches will be deontological approach and the
other will be utilitarianism approach. Therefore, to better understand how to use these two approaches,
it is better to first discuss them briefly and have a better understanding of what they are. Deontological
Approach Deontological comes from two Greek word. The first word is deon which when interpreted
means duty or responsibility. This word is used to mean what one ought to do or is obligated to do.
The other word is logos which when interpreted means study. Therefore, this may be literally be
interpreted as the duty of study or the responsibility to study. Deontological is a normative theory
which examines the choices we make and regards which one are morally required or permitted or
which one are forbidden (Cohen,1997). Deontological theorists are those theorists who judge our
actions on what we are supposed or should do and not what we may do. They judge these actions of
what we ought to do regardless of the consequences of the action. These means that the actions are not
justified by the consequences but rather by themselves. One ought not to examine what they are
obligated to do on the basis of the results the action will bring but rather on the actions

Benjamin Franklin Biography
THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF BENJAMIN FRANKLIN
The autobiography of Benjamin franklin starts of by talking about his son William Franklin who at the
time was the royal governor of New Jersey. Franklin started to write his autobiography in the summer
of 1771 on holiday in London England. While only on holiday for a week, Franklin thought it would
be a good time to record his past because his son may wish to know about his life at later date.
Benjamin start saying that he had lived a good life and if he had the chance he would go back to erase
only the small errors he made in life. He feels by writing down his life, would be the next best things
to reliving it. He mentions a thank you to god for allowing him to live an enjoyable life. Franklin talks

The SCERTS Model To Successful ASD Practices
programs borrow too many ASD approaches and strategies, resulting in practices that are fragmented
and unsuccessful.
First, some programs continue to adhere to only 1 or 2 approaches, with little integration of practices
from different perspectives. In contrast, other programs use a patchwork quilt strategy borrowing from
different practices along the continuum even when such practices are not easily integrated, resulting in
a fragmented approach to programming, (SCERTS, 2016, p. 3).
To build an effective education program, including ASD practices and approaches most effective to
each individual, the SCERTS model utilizes information gathered from multiple sources. The
SCERTS model incorporates background information from parents, caregivers,

Roman Republic Democratic
The Roman constitution has three elements, but their share of power was so well regulated people are
still unsure whether the republic was a democracy (A democracy is a system of government in which
people have the right to empower rules, usually through representatives) or more of an aristocracy (a
form of government where the authority is held by the nobility) or a despotism (a form of government
where the ruler has absolute power). Rome s Republic lasted between 509 BC to 30 BC, which is 479
years. Rome had three divisions in their government that were the consul, senate, and the assembly.
Rome s Republic was not very democratic because they only elected prosperous, men, to hold high
spots in the office, voting rights were restricted to some individuals, and the magistrates were in
control of the military, but didn t actually fight in the military.
Indeed many of men in the Republic of Rome that voted were rich, lucrative men. How easily a small
number of urban residents registered in a rural tribe could determine the vote of that tribe is clear from
the small percentage of citizens who voted. This states that only a small number of urban residents
registered in a rural tribe could determine the vote because so few received the high spots in the office
which gave them the vote since they were near the area to vote. ... Show more content on

For example, all voting had to be done in Rome... it was mostly the well to do rural voters and their
clients who could afford the time and expenses to come to Rome to vote. In just the same way as
before this is highly unfair and unlike a democracy because it is Rome as Rome expanded it was
challenging for people to move to Rome due to the unpleasantness it takes to transport them there just
to vote. Voting for everyone is a truly important part of fair rights to all people and you can t have, this
is not a democracy all people can

My Dream Experience
The first day of class for a student is like drawing cards in a poker game. Just as the cards that one
receives determines their outcome in poker, the types of teachers a student gets on the first day will
determine the success of their year.
My stomach was tied in knots, and I could feel the sweat soaking through my shirt. My hands were
sweating as I spun the combination lock. I tried remembering the numbers but it just could not get to
my mind. I was thinking 1234 or 4321? The next thing I ever did know what I was doing was running
down the hallway screaming while other people were giggling and staring at me like I was doing
everything wrong. They were just ....laughing....laughing....laughing. Then the bell noise came it
sounded like the bell for my alarm clock. In fact I was in a nightmare all along! The alarm clock was
beeping and beeping. It was so loud that it woke my brother from the other side of the wall.
I was having the exact same dream with the exact same role in 5th grade summer. I was always
worrying about how it was going to be like because of my dwarfism, but today it seemed even scarier
since it was the first day school. It was like how the book Nightmares says that all dreams stay with
you unless you face them. Well today I was going to face that nightmare.
Though I knew that I was going not be able to face my fear always be the one that everybody laughs
at.

Low Volume-High Intensity Exercise Analysis
1. Wadley, Alex J., et al. Low volume high intensity interval exercise elicits antioxidant and anti
inflammatory effects in humans. Journal of sports sciences 34.1 (2016): 1 9. In this study, researchers
used untrained male subjects to compare the effect low volume high intensity exercise interval (LV
HIIE) and steady state exercise has on anti inflammatory (IL 6 IL 10) and antioxidant levels in the
blood during and afterwards. Cytokines are proteins, connected to the level of oxidative stress present
at that time. Steady state exercise, along with the magnitude of intensity, causes an increase in the
production of pro and anti inflammatory cytokines. A small sample (10) of untrained male subjects
completed 3 different exercise bouts. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

venous blood samples of the participants. Males were instructed to cycle for a total of 75 minutes at a
workload of 60% of VO2peak W, breaking at the 45 minute mark to collect venous and capillary
samples. Females cycled for 60 minutes of a workload 60% of their VO2peak. Sweat and venous
samples were collected at 20 minutes and the conclusion of exercise. The experimenters were hoping
that since HIIT has the ability to produce elevated amounts of IL 6 circulating in the blood, it would
be detectable in all 3 measurements. However, concentration of IL 6 were undetectable in the sweat
samples collected. Venous and capillary blood samples did show significant increases in their
concentrations. A higher level was noted before the start of exercise, but was linked to the under

conducted by males. The study did not specifically if there were any gender differences or if that

Abortion Medical Statistics
The medical statistics can be very supportive to the ban of the abortion. There are several researches
that have clearly shown that there is a close relationship between the breast cancers and the abortion.
The women, who have undergone the process of abortion, are highly viable for the breast cancers.
There is another issue for such mothers. Most of the mothers, who have gone the process of abortion,
are not in a position to have children in the rest of their life. This can be considered as a harmful
situation to the family as well as to the society. The society needs the people to maintain the process of
social; system but it is not possible when there is not enough people to carry out all these roles and
responsibilities of the society.

Mamele Film Analysis
The 1938 film, Mamele, directed by Joseph Green and Konrad Tom is musical comedy drama that
portrays the life of Havche, a dutiful daughter who keeps her family intact after their mother s death.
Havche spends her day cleaning the house and providing food for her family members. She is so
caught up on doing household chores that she has little time for herself. More importantly, the film
emphasizes on Havche and her family, as she tries to be the mother and take care of her family.
Throughout the movie, we witness the struggles Havche overcomes by not being appreciated for the
sacrifices she makes. It isn t until she finds comfort from Schlesinger, a violinist who lives across her.
The film also embraces the entire gamut of interwar Jewish ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Tradition tells us who we are. Although traditions are customs or beliefs from generation to
generation, breaking a tradition can have a positive outcome. For instance, Havche leaving the family
was a symbolism of giving up tradition. Havche was able to burst out of her bubble by traveling the
country with Schlesingers and doing what she wants to do. Without Havche, the house is a mess: the
dishes aren t washed, the furniture is ruined and dirty, and her siblings are seen running around
everywhere. Berel is seen gambling in bed with his friends and not even taking care of his children.
The positive side of Havche leaving is that the family realizes that Havche plays an important role in
the house. They finally realized that they cannot do anything without the help of Havche. Although
Havche loves spending time with only Schlesingers, she can t help but worry about her family, which
leads her to coming back. As Carlos Fuentes quotes, There is no creation without tradition; the new is
an inflection on a preceding form, novelty is always a variation on the past. In conclusion, Havche
leaving the family was an important instrument in transforming and renewing the

The Mexican American Border And Its Effects On The United...
I am writing this letter to respectively bring your attention to the Mexican American border, its
damaging effect on the United States economy, and potential solutions to this specific situation which
has become known as the Border Crisis. As you may already know, the border runs from Tijuana, Baja
California to Tamaulipas and Texas. According to the International Boundary and Water Commission,
the border s length is 1,954 miles and is the most frequently crossed international border, mainly by
undocumented immigrants from Mexico and Central America. As an attempt to contain this influx of
illegal migration, former President George W. Bush signed the Secure Fence Act of 2006 stating, This
bill will help protect American people. This bill will make our borders more secure. It is an important
step toward immigration reform. While Mr. Bush may have had the United States safety at heart, one
must question if the border fence is actually helping the economy or hurting it? There are several
problems that have risen following the creation of the border fence; immigrants coming from The
Northern Triangle have actually increased, Texas has become the deadliest entry state, undocumented
and unaccompanied children are costing taxpayers even more, and simply maintaining the border
fence is a very high cost. To start with, when people hear the word immigration , many automatically
refer to Mexican immigrants. However, few tend to realize that the majority of immigrants are coming

Chg Dressings
Yet in another recent study by Duzkaya et al. (2016), the CHG dressings were compared with the
standard dressings using level II evidence in a RCT study. The study sample included 100 patients for
a total of 100 CVCs in one pediatric ICU of a university hospital in Istanbul, Turkey. The study
findings considered CHG dressings effective in prevention of CRBSIs where the rate of infection was
2% versus 10% in the standard dressings (Duzkaya et al., 2016). One study, however, did not find a
statistical significant difference while comparing the CHG dressings with gauze and tape dressings for
prevention of CRBSIs. Using level II evidence, Pedrolo et al. (2014) conducted a RCT study that

The evidence of the studies is very crucial and justifies the need to incorporate the proposed
intervention (using the CHG dressing) in the project. Purpose of the Study Extensive evidence based
research on interventions to reduce the risk of CLABSIs have shown a substantial decrease in the rate
of CLABSIs. One of the recommended guideline is the use of CHG dressings for coverage of the
CVC insertion site. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the CHG dressings
compared to the standard dressings in preventing the rate of CLABSIs. The CHG dressings will be the
study experimental intervention while the standard dressings will be in the control group. Theoretical
Framework Planning and implementing change can be challenging, however, utilizing a process and
change model such as the Stetler model (Stetler, 2001) can result in an achievement of the intended
change. The Stetler model, was first developed in 1976, refined in 1994, and last updated in 2001 and
it addresses five phases that are necessary for the change to be adopted in the system (Stetler, 2001).
The first phase is preparation and it involves isolating and affirming a need, identifying where the
need will be applied, and conducting a comprehensive search for evidence based research regarding
that need. The second phase is validation where the researched evidence is systematically critiqued
and a synthesis summary of the isolated need is

Waking up on the typical Monday morning, I feel groggy and confused. What day is today? I think it

The first type of authority is legal, or rational authority. Weber writes, It is concerned with how a
political order is regarded as legal in the eyes of the population...and the legitimacy is maintained by
reference to a legal code (13). Individuals or groups with legal rational authority are functional
superiors or bureaucratic officials. This type of authority rules through the law, the government, and
established norms. The reason their authority is accepted is that people generally believe rules and
regulations are necessary in order to maintain a functioning society. Examples of legal authority
figures are members of Congress, the President, the Queen of England, and average police officers.
These authority figures are able to maintain their dominance because it has been accepted as a norm
and necessity to follow the law. The second type of authority is traditional authority. Weber states, this
type of authority is: resting on an established belief in the sanctity of immemorial traditions and
legitimacy of those exercising authority under rule (12). Those with traditional authority inherit their
position from long established traditions and customs. Examples of traditional authority figures are the
Pope, doctors, and teachers. This tradition of obedience has been passed on from generation to
generation and it is seen as customary to obey those in charge of your faith, health, and education. We

Resentment towards God in the Religous Poem, Tenebrae
In Tenebrae, Paul Celan channels his resentment towards God through a methodical use of literary
techniques. Celan utilizes several motifs to express his bitterness throughout the religious poem that
allow his emotions to be portrayed in an understandable manner. One may identify death and a sense
of closeness as the major motifs along with drinking and prayer as minor motifs Celan used to portray
his dark emotions. With the use of effective motifs, the key element of role reversal, and an angered
tone, Celan gets his warning to God.
The poem is spoken through humans towards God, with an evident theme of death that is
demonstrated throughout the poem. Death is shown through the sense of slaughter; it is brought up in
the beginning of the poem with the use of words claw, and clawed. It is a possibility that these words
are the author s way of referencing the slaughter. In ritual slaughter animals were killed not by blunt
force, but by something sharp. Knifes or perhaps claws were used to cut the animal open such that
blood flowed freely out the animal1.Celan keeps up the motif of death with the following verses.
Askew we went there, (10)
went there to bend (11)
down to the trough, to the crater. (12)
To be watered we went there, Lord. (13)
Celan alludes to animals with the metaphor in lines 11 and 12 with the word trough . One may agree
with this idea considering the fact that cattle feed, and drink out of troughs. Crater and watered could
be seen as

Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky Essay
Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky is the author of six symphonies and the finest and
most popular operas in the Russian repertory. Tchaikovsky was also one of the founders of the school
of Russian music. He was a brilliant composer with a creative imagination that helped his career

The young Peter would enter a ministry of Justice as a clerk in 1859 (Mason 1). Tchaikovsky stayed
there four years despite the long journey to Western Europe and increasing involvement in music. In
1863 he entered the conservatory where he took private teachings and focused all his energy to his
music and compositions. Three years later in 1866 he and his family had moved to Moscow with a
professorship of harmony at a new conservatory. Even by this time very little of his music had pleased
the conservative musical establishment or the more nationalist group. It was not until 1868 when his
1st Symphony had a good public reception when heard in Moscow. Not even a year later Tchaikovsky
wrote his first opera the Voyevada. He later used this piece in his next opera the Oprichnik, which won
some success at St. Petersburg in 1874. It was then that a critic named Balakirev requested that he
write a work on Romeo and Juliet, which would later be known as the Fantasy Overture. This specific
work was rewritten many times until it met the requirements of Balakirev. This romantic piece is a
symphony where each theme stood for a character in the drama. It is these expressive themes that
make his first works well defined. The symphony Romeo and Juliet is a love song in sonata form. It is
a Fantasy Overture and not a symphonic poem, because Tchaikovsky makes no attempt to tell the
story in order or in detail (Hanson 118). The piece opens with

Hurricane Katrina Flood Risk Analysis
Article #1: Flood Risk Management in the United States and the Impact of Hurricane Katrina.
Article #1 Major points: The major points that the article focused on were that since people have first
stepped foot on this continent, flooding has always been present. This constant presence has required
the federal and local governments to help assist with the flood control, management, and the damages
that flooding causes. There have been many policies established to help with floodplain management,
but since the terrorist attack on September 11th, the risk analysis approach has taken precedent over
the other policies (Galloway 302). Different disasters in our history have encouraged a variety of
action from the government and other organizations. For instance, failing dams prompted a national
dam safety program and analyzed the risks of those living below dams (301). Also, after Hurricane
Katrina, levee maintenance importance was increased; as there were major levee malfunctions that
heightened the destruction. The integrity of these infrastructures (dams, bridges, levees) that protect
the population should be maintained and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, flood insurance was established in areas that are located within the floodplain (302), as
well as the relocation and removal of buildings in areas at risk of continual flooding. Furthermore,
after Hurricane Katrina, levee maintenance importance was increased. Hurricane Katrina also instilled
the importance of proper preparation before the disaster strikes. The government has actively helped
with the continual flood management in America; sharing the cost with local, state, and federal
governments (302). There are many factors and policies in the preparation and management for
flooding, but since the attacks on September 11th, the risk analysis approach has taken precedence

Descriptive Essay About The Doll
Victim 1
Do you ever wonder what it was like in a horror movie? Nothing like a cliche, more like It and maybe
a couple others. What a doll that was cursed, able to move on her own and be insane? A doll that can
smell a sin miles to acres away and track it down like a hungry bloodhound in the cold winter willing
to eat any meat. That s what happened years ago, I thought it was a legend, but never make a sin in
front of the doll. You ll wake her from her sleep and she ll take revenge on all humanity to make the
world pure.
************************************************
I was five when I got the doll, not giving a care in the world to my surroundings. The doll was weird
looking, almost terrifying to look at, but the doll looked to me interestingly enough to keep it and play
with. She had a red top hot with a blue ribbon wrapped around it with midnight blue hair by the looks
of it with light blue for her bangs, her hair in two ponytails in the upper back part of her head. Her left
eye was stitched up and the right though liked like the kind that can be used for any emotion to speak
of with the color of ice blue. She had a dress that covered her neck, her upper body and leggings for
pants, on the feeling of the material. Her shoulders, forearm, and her nails painted black. Her shoes,
just plain black with flat boots, able to take off and put back on. Doll also had pink spider earrings that
was very detailed to the very inch.
Years later to age ten, was the when it all started. We lived in a quiet town and no need for police
officers, but we still had them anyway. The first murder happened when my family went to the movies
to see Black Moon. It was such a good movie, when it came out on VHS, I watched and watched that
movie, stuck in a time lope and never leaving it. Getting up a few times to use the bathroom, eat and
drink. When the movie ended, and left the building, police lights were on and flashing. We thought it
was all a prank or to scare us, and it scared us to the point of nightmares. I still do up to it, but rarely
now.
The details that I wish to never had seen, or to even talk about it. It was a disconnected corpse. Blood
leaked out of the head which was torn off it s body, along with it s

Essay on Tacitus The Agricola and The Germania
Imperial Rome, during the first century A.D. was expanding it s boundaries by adding new territories.
They expanded into northern Europe and Britain and conquered or attempted to conquer various types
of people. Based on my reading of Tacitus The Agricola and The Germania, I have knowledge of the
life and customs of the Britons, subject of the Agricola, and the Germans, subject of the Germania.
This of course being the Romans, and more specifically Tacitus, observation and view of these groups
of people. The customs of the Britons differed from that of the Romans. Britain was the largest of the
islands known to the Romans, who thought of Britons as barbarians. The physical characteristics of
the Britons varied, suggesting that they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Romans viewed the Britons as spiritless cowards because instead of dying for their cause and
families wives and children at home, they would run away and therefore be captured in stead of dying
for the cause. The customs of the Germans also differed from those of the Romans. Germany
contained various people and was thought of by Tacitus as indigenous with little foreign blood. Their
physical characteristics are all the same, they cannot endure hard work and tiring chores as the
Romans can. Their only form of wealth was in numbered livestock, because their lands didn t have a
lot of silver or gold. But after being exposed to the Romans, they began to value gold and silver.
Unlike the weapons of swords and lances, the Germans use spears with short and narrow blades,
javelins and shields. They don t train their horses like the Romans, for speed. Their strength is in their
infantry, not their cavalry. Their system of power and authority is quite different. For instance, the
power of the kings is not absolute, the commanders lead by example not authority, and the priests
inflict punishments. The chiefs fight for victory on the battlefield, and the followers fight for their
chiefs not themselves. Tacitus views the Germans as having a need for violence. The women in
Germania stay close their men. The men go to their mothers and wives to be treated, encouraged and
supplied with food. The

The Effect Of Heat Capacity Of Water
Introduction
The aim of the experiment is measure the specific heat capacity of water and two metals, aluminum
and copper respectively of different conductivity to heat. Heat is a form of energy associated with the
motion of atoms or molecules and is capable of being transmitted through solid and fluid media by
conduction, through fluid media by convection, and through empty space by radiation. It could also be
defined as the transfer of energy from one body to another as a result of the difference in temperature
or the change in phase.
The specific heat could be defined as the amount of heat energy per one kilogram required to raise the
temperature by a degree kelvin. In this experiment the, there is heating of water and the metals by,
electrical energy been converted into heat energy. A certain voltage is required to give rise to the
temperatures for according to Charles law, voltage is directly proportional to temperature provided
that pressure is constant.
Theory
Supplying a thousand grams of energy to water is not the same as supplying a thousand grams of
energy to a metal for they will not rise the same when it all comes down to temperature. What the
difference is between water and a metal is that they are both of different materials, which is they both
would have different boiling and melting point, conductivity and varied structures of and
intermolecular bonds of the substances. To calculate the amount of heat energy require for a
compound or mixture, the mass of the

Factors Affecting Virgin Atlantic
Several factors as it relates to the Macro Environment can impact and influence Virgin Atlantic and its

understand the impact of the external factors on the organisation and is used as strategic analytical
technique. The term PESTLE is an acronym for: P Political E Economic S Social T Technological E

government within a country interferes within their economy. Virgin Atlantics can be affected by
policies of the government, political stability, labour law, tax policy, overseas market etc. However,
Virgins Atlantics as a part of the airline industry, political factors that are relevant are most times
regarding fear of terrorism attack. Terrorism is a serious matter, because of political or ideology that is

The Nazi Regime
The rise of the Nazi regime in Germany in the early part of the 20th century was an impressive, and
nearly unforeseen incident that had long lasting implications on the rest of the Western world. While
the Nazi party was extreme in their ideologies, the circumstances in which they came to power were
dire; Germany had been crippled by a massive depression and was being forced to pay reparations

At the time that Hitler was appointed Chancellor, Alfred Hugenburg said I ve just committed the
greatest stupidity of my life; I have allied myself with the greatest demagogue in world history (Briggs

and how influential he would be as a leader to the German people. After the Nazi party gained control
of the government, there was no way to make them give up this power. The people were at the mercy
of the fascist government, and Hitler had no intention of returning to democracy. Hitler believed that
[Germany s] constitution only marks out the arena of battle, not the goal... once we possess the
constitutional power, we will mould the state into the shape we hold suitable (Briggs Clavin, 255). If
anyone should shoulder the blame for the rise of this extremist party, it should be the failed League of

Running Head: MEDICAL BILLING AND CODING Medical Billing and Coding as a Career
Abstract: Since I became a mother, I have always wanted a job that would allow me to work at home.
I have an associate in accounting and tried doing bookkeeping from home but that did not really work
out. I did some research and found that being an insurance medical biller and coder is one of the best
jobs to have for working at home. Top Medical Billers can earn over $40,000 a year either at home or

Understanding Thermal or Solar Heat Gain Coefficients
In order to understand the word thermal within a building, then SHGC which is solar heat gain
coefficients had to be known to known the property of thermal insulation and conductivity in a whole
manner. Solar heat gain coefficient is widely use in the United State in designing building. SHGC may
refer to the transmittance of solar energy of windows or even walls, every object can be evaluate by
using solar heat gain coefficient method by knowing the properties of each material. If a material have
high solar heat gain coefficient, then the material is a good absorbent of solar heat. For material that is
black in colour, inevitably it absorb heat faster because of the colour doesn t reflect the wavelength
that comes directly from the source of light. So, low e components of a building that comes with low
solar heat gain coefficient will reflect and keep heat source that came from sun away from the house
and that will probably makes a house cooler. Solar heat gain coefficient usually dealt with windows
that possess a low e property. Low e may regard to the emissivity of one s material. Nowadays
window mostly is transparent, and that makes it vulnerable for sunlight to penetrate easily into a house
without any reflection. We have to be notice that if a window is place facing the unsuitable direction
such as west or east, it will have an adverse effect towards the thermal comfort of a house especially
terraced house in Malaysia that cant undergoes renovation due to the

Red Cabbage Ph Lab
Red Cabbage pH Mark Lab Work
The Goal of the investigation was to look for and understand the different chemicals (Acids, alkalis
and neutral) work and see a change in color.
Introduction:
The red cabbage mark shows how simple household product such as red cabbage can make a suitable
mark and be able find out if a chemical is either an Neutral, alkali or acid. Chemicals that are acid
reacts with an alkali neutralizing it making water and a salt. Acids commonly are sour tasting. Acids
change with metals, releasing hydrogen gas and leaving behind a salt. Acids conduct electricity. Acids
also readily give off hydrogen ions and have a pH level lower than 7. Simple common acids are
sulphuric, Nitric. The acid commonl used in car batteries are sulphoric acid with electrolyte. ... Show

Romanov Family Essay
No matter what age I am, history has always been my favorite subject. It s a story that I can immerse

back, it s no surprise to me how my deep fascination with the ill fated Romanov family of Russia

taught me that if something piques your interest, you should dig deeper and dedicate time to quench

Descriptive Essay On Earth Shot On Apple
Nothing is quite beautiful alone; nothing but is beautiful in the whole. A single object is only so far
beautiful as it suggests this universal grace. written by Ralph Waldo Emerson in Nature highlights the
difference in perspective viewing Earth from an external perspective versus our own perspective.
Stuck in our own world only we see what is in front of us restricting us from seeing the larger whole
of our real home. Captured on apple devices and compiled in an advertisement, Earth Shot on iPhone
exhibits locations from all across the world reminding viewers of what we as humans have forgotten
and how mankind has treated its only home for countless generations. The remaining art of nature
which exists to satisfy the desire of beauty calls to action that we are the ones responsible to maintain
our planet and it is crucial to protect the environment from our own doing. Narrated by Carl Sagan,
Earth Shot on iPhone presents viewers with a slow paced, thought provoking advertisement that
stresses the beauty and significance our planet. Opening with a shot of a shore looking out the the
ocean, the sunset sets a calm tone while a human figure walks slowly across the shore giving a sense
of loneliness in such a vast landscape. Warm colors such as orange, and yellow peek the horizon while
cool blue dominates the sky and reflects off the soaked, smooth sand. In another shot captured on the

Hip Flexor Activity
During mid stance the peak height of the hip is seen to be higher on the prosthetic limb than in a non
amputee. This is a result of the reduced flexion of the prosthetic knee. Also the characteristic of the
prosthetic foot influences the peak height too. After contralateral foot contact an abrupt transition from
hip extension to flexion is seen. In the late stance, an eccentric hip flexor activity is seen as compared
to normal. This inturn generates higher hip flexor moment. This greater moment further decelerates
the extending hip and ensures that the HAT segment does not lag behind as the amputee pulls
themselves over the prosthesis.

Jay Gatsby and the American Dream
Jay Gatsby and the American Dream The Great Gatsby is a very famous novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald
that goes back to the 1920 s. The book is narrated by a man who actually witnessed the events and
took part in these events, and his name is Nick Carraway. Through his narration, we learn about a man
whose real man is James Gatz, but he goes by the name Jay Gatsby. He continuously calls people old
sport. (Fitzgerald, 161) He lives in a mansion on West Egg near where Nick lives. He was raised on a
farm with a poor family in North Dakota. This makes us wonder how he rose to having such fortune.
Well he did do it illegally, as in this time period; it was one way people made money if they could not
do it any other way. As his life progressed, he became interested in other women; we find out later that
he really loved Daisy Buchanan for a while. Daisy is a sweet beautiful young lady that Tom married
when Jay was looking to get an education. He would throw parties all the time to achieve one ultimate
goal and that was to get Daisy to fall in love with him, and achieving his version of the American
Dream with Daisy is a goal that Jay wanted to achieve but there were a couple of obstacles in the way.
Gatsby s small goal in order to achieve his ultimate goal was to become wealthy, and he did with bad
intentions. When Tom had already been married to Daisy, it increased the determination of Jay to get
her. It does not make a lot of sense, but this is what he wanted to do in order to

Theme Of A Hunger Artist
Kafka s Hunger Art: A Study of Fictional Autobiography in A Hunger Artist In A Hunger Artist , Franz
Kafka utilizes his skill as a writer and a poet to allegorically tell the reader of his own suffering
through a tale of an artist s slavery to his craft. Kafka s own life parallels the plot and characters of
this short story in elements such as starvation, obsession, and loss of will as they are explored in the
plot of this work. Whether intentional or not, his comments on isolation, suffering, and art become a
mirror to his own psyche and allow the reader a look into the mind of the genius who penned the
work. The deteriortation of the title character in A Hunger Artist highlighted by autobiographical
elements in the work exemplifies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

of the artist. Explained by Fitcher in The Anorexia Nervosa of Franz Kafka, the mental issues
portrayed by Kafka throughout out his life often spilled over into his works and are a result of his
slavery to writing. Writing became his vice for the world around him as he struggled to cope with
realties beyond his understanding: much like hunger as a vice for the artist s distaste for food. As the
story draws to a close, mind begins to entertain the idea that Kafka himself was in fact a hunger

Historically, nursing has been an honorable profession; Nurses are advocates for people in their most
helpless state. When Florence Nightingale was assigned to care for wounded soldiers, she did
everything she could to make sure the soldiers healed well, even if it meant losing sleep to tend to her
patients. The same is true for nurses today, especially in reflection of recent disasters. Pictures of the
bombing of hospitals in Aleppo, Syria, depict medical professionals carrying wounded children piled
up on gurneys out of the site of attack. Hurricane Harvey and Irma relief calls for recruits of nurses

strategic tactic to connect with people and make them comfortable in a time of destress when

comical to imagine that such an absurd task would be possible! Personally, I love it when a

Emile Durkheim s The Elementary Forms of Religious Life
The crux of Emile Durkheim s The Elementary Forms of Religious Life lies in the concept of
collective effervescence, or the feelings of mutually shared emotions. Through a hermeneutical
approach, Durkheim investigates the reflexiveness of social organization, the balance between form
and content, and the immense cooperation in collective representations. In his work, society is the
framework of humanity and gives it meaning, whereas religion acts as the tool to explain it. Since
society existed prior to the individual, the collective mind must be understood before the concept of
the individual can be grasped. However, one component seems missing from his social theory what
underlies society in terms of rituals and rites? Only when this ... Show more content on

By identifying with a group, collective emotions can be experienced even in solitude, as evidenced by
the existence of two separate worlds. The use of incommensurable points to the dichotomy of society
and the individual and highlights the fact that the social construct consists of individual components
rather than a single entity. This is evidenced when a man speaks to the crowd and His language
becomes high flown...the feelings he arouses return to him enlarged and amplified, reinforcing his
own to the same degree (212). The speaker expresses the collective sentiment and, much like a
biological positive feedback loop, the emotions of the crowd resonate back to the speaker. Thus the
speaker transcends his own identity as simply an individual and becomes an incarnate of the group.
When emotions trickle down from society to the individual, they loop back and beget society. By
investigating the piacular rites of the Australian aborigines, Durkheim suggests that social rituals
create both a sense of grief and group duty. Primitive forms of mourning consist of beating, bruising,
lacerating, and burning oneself...sometimes [to the extent that] they do not survive their wounds (402).
Through these acts of self inflicted pain and torment, members of society partake in a form of re
presenting the dichotomy of life and death. The emotional rites seem to stem from society itself, for
the rites embody the rites of

Political Change In Syria
In 2011, a few years prior to the bombing of the Temple of Baalshamin, Syria officially became a
country plagued by continuous conflict. A civil uprising began against the government of the country
and started what is now known as the Syrian Civil War. Mass numbers of Syrian individuals were
displeased with what they felt was a corrupt political regime ruling their country and sought to create a
better way of life through their pro democracy protest. Unfortunately, as the government fought back
and Syrian citizens continued to protest, shots were fired and the country collectively spiraled out of

Without knowing this, conflict and destruction will continue to occur in Syria, and for that matter the
rest of the world.
What then is currently being done to stop such atrocities from occurring? Specifically in the case of
the Temple of Baalshamin, many if not all of the preventative and preservation systems set in place to
save remnants of human history only look at solving the problem at a surface level. For example, the
Million Image Database Project and the New Palmyra Project both focus on preserving the Temple of
Baalshamin through the collection of pictures and using digital computer renderings, in hopes that one
day this site and potentially other sites could be rebuilt or forever preserved through the internet.
While important as a step towards reducing loss, neither of these specific preservation examples seek
to prevent such destruction from occurring in the first place. Be that as it may, even if there were a
hundred systems in place that specifically attempt to prevent such instances of destruction from
happening, it is highly likely they would focus only on alleviating issues that are at the surface layer of
the underlying issues in a society, such as relieving hunger, poverty, and other forms of human
distress. In order to truly prevent violent, heinous, and hateful acts of destruction from happening, one
must look at preventing the issue by resolving

The Crucible And 12 Angry Men Analysis
The Crucible and Twelve Angry Men (1957 film) share many similarities between them, particularly
in the themes they convey throughout the texts. Justice and prejudice are the main ideas presented in
both texts, however the setting and outcomes differ significantly between the two, providing a
different insight in each text. Both authors, Miller and Lumet, present relevant issues in the context of
the 1950s that both texts were written. The similar social condition of America that the two texts were
published in is a likely factor as to why the two texts have similar motifs presented throughout. Both
The Crucible and Twelve Angry Men (1957 film) are about justice. The two texts feature important
scenes involving a trial where the fate of a character s life rests in the hands of other people. However,
the two texts have very different final outcomes. In both texts, the main protagonists argue against the
majority, despite the backlash that they receive. Proctor speaks out in The Crucible after learning
about the lies that Abigail and her friends are telling that have caused the imprisonment of members of
the town and are even threatening their lives. Proctor takes a considerable risk by arguing against the
witchcraft, especially in the Puritan society where religion is how the town is governed. His decision
inevitably backfires on him and begins the series of events that lead to his execution. On the other
hand, Juror #8 in Twelve Angry Men goes against the majority as he sees the boys poor upbringing,
his less than fair state appointed defence attorney and the jury s almost immediate unanimous decision
to convict him, unjust and believes he deserves a better chance. Unlike Proctor, Juror #8 speaking out
against the other men results in justice for the accused who walks away with his life. Justice in the two
texts is represented considerably differently to each other. In The Crucible it is evident that Abigail
and her friends are in the wrong, condemning people to be death by lying and accusing the town
members of Witchcraft, and therefore Proctor attempting to expose them for their dishonesty and bring
justice to those who had been wrongfully accused, which included his wife, was a brave and noble

Short Stories About Failure And Help, Perseverance, And Faith
I am honored to be speaking here today. Eighth grade was a fun, but tough year. At the beginning of
eighth grade I was excited and worried for the year to come. Now I think of this year and I think of
how fast it went, the fun I had, and the troubles I had. I think of how I am going into high school. It s

stories about failure and help, perseverance, and faith. The first story is about failure. Failure is
something I was afraid of, especially in math. I never wanted to fail. I wanted to try my best and do
amazing on everything. Sadly, being perfect isn t how the world works. In math, at the end of the year,
I was really worried about a unit we were doing. At first I thought I knew what I was doing. I had a

When I saw the score on the computer screen I almost burst into tears. I was harder on myself than
anyone was on me. I knew I tried my best, but I didn t feel like it. I had never failed before. The
teacher came around the next day and asked if I needed any extra help. At first I was thinking, no. I do
not need help. Later that night I changed my mind. I went to her class during my lunch and she

The Nearly Fatal Snow Caving Trip
Sharp pains shooting through muscles, trying to avoid sleep, hypothermia set in on an Antarctic ice

my winter backcountry skills and anticipated a memorable trip. I did not know what I was getting into.
Growing colder day by day, winter became more dominant. Deep snow made travel difficult. To
navigate through this terrain, I would have to wear special equipment. There are a few ways to travel

I recommended to my brother that he should put his snowshoes on before his pack. Climbing over the
hardened, plowed up wall of snow, we began our journey.
Beginning at a popular cross country ski trail, the traveling was enjoyably easy. Crunching the
hardened snow with each step and occasionally meandering off the trail and atop the soft snow, my
confidence towered. Distancing ourselves from the car, we passed many pine trees, whose branches
and needles would sway in the wind like bowing Chinese men. I sensed the wind whistling through
the trees, carrying the light, dry snow across my rosy, wind blown cheeks and burrowing between my
neck and shirt collar. In addition, the wind would create beautiful structures of snow, snowdrifts of
every size and shape. Remarkable curves and textures created a landscape like a foreign frozen world.
At this point, the ski trail dwindled to nothing, so we began to break our own trail. After several
demanding hours of trail breaking, we were sweating heavily. The once bone chilling wind had
become a blessing with our now unzipped parkas. We questioned the validity of traveling further.
We had passed many gigantic snowdrifts and possible campsites, but now tired and anxious we began
searching for the ultimate site for our snow cave. Finally, siding a cliff the snow looked deep with easy
access. The evergreen trees, with low lying branches created bowls around their bases. This area of

Panspermia And The Demise Of Humanity
The possibility of the world ending is something that is in the back of many people s minds. It is the
ultimate death. It is the end of not only yourself, but the end of humanity as a whole. There are many
ways that this could happen, ranging from Asteroids colliding with our planet, to alien invasion, and
even self annihilation via war. I am focusing on something that is very improbable, but just might lead
to the demise of humanity. Alien invasion. Most people think of alien invasions as a giant war with
another spacefaring, sentient race, however, it can come as a more subtle, possibly even more deadly
way. An alien pandemic has multiple ways of killing our race, from the infection itself, to self
annihilation. The possibility of the world ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is entirely possible for a microorganism to be made up without amino acids, or DNA, and still be
deadly to humans. It can have a different chemical backbone, it can be extremely heat or cold
resistant, resistant to radiation, UV light, and in the case of an intentional invasion, and it could be
made so that all modern treatments are ineffective. The possibility of the world ending due to
spacefaring, or alien bacteria entering our atmosphere and destroying the human race is a great
possibility. Death by pandemic is scary, as is every apocalypse theory. Though Death by a spacefaring
race of bacteria is entirely possible and might lead to humanities demise it is statistically improbable,
and is something that should not be thought of on a daily

  • 2. The Ethics Of Environmental Ethics Environmental Ethics This research will be based on two types of theories. These theories will be the guiding approaches that will be used in order to come up with the real issue at hand and also be able to provide a solution for the same. The first of the two approaches will be deontological approach and the other will be utilitarianism approach. Therefore, to better understand how to use these two approaches, it is better to first discuss them briefly and have a better understanding of what they are. Deontological Approach Deontological comes from two Greek word. The first word is deon which when interpreted means duty or responsibility. This word is used to mean what one ought to do or is obligated to do. The other word is logos which when interpreted means study. Therefore, this may be literally be interpreted as the duty of study or the responsibility to study. Deontological is a normative theory which examines the choices we make and regards which one are morally required or permitted or which one are forbidden (Cohen,1997). Deontological theorists are those theorists who judge our actions on what we are supposed or should do and not what we may do. They judge these actions of what we ought to do regardless of the consequences of the action. These means that the actions are not justified by the consequences but rather by themselves. One ought not to examine what they are obligated to do on the basis of the results the action will bring but rather on the actions ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

First, some programs continue to adhere to only 1 or 2 approaches, with little integration of practices from different perspectives. In contrast, other programs use a patchwork quilt strategy borrowing from different practices along the continuum even when such practices are not easily integrated, resulting in a fragmented approach to programming, (SCERTS, 2016, p. 3). • 5. Roman Republic Democratic The Roman constitution has three elements, but their share of power was so well regulated people are still unsure whether the republic was a democracy (A democracy is a system of government in which people have the right to empower rules, usually through representatives) or more of an aristocracy (a form of government where the authority is held by the nobility) or a despotism (a form of government where the ruler has absolute power). Rome s Republic lasted between 509 BC to 30 BC, which is 479 years. Rome had three divisions in their government that were the consul, senate, and the assembly. Rome s Republic was not very democratic because they only elected prosperous, men, to hold high spots in the office, voting rights were restricted to some individuals, and the magistrates were in control of the military, but didn t actually fight in the military. Indeed many of men in the Republic of Rome that voted were rich, lucrative men. How easily a small number of urban residents registered in a rural tribe could determine the vote of that tribe is clear from the small percentage of citizens who voted. This states that only a small number of urban residents registered in a rural tribe could determine the vote because so few received the high spots in the office which gave them the vote since they were near the area to vote. ... Just as the cards that one receives determines their outcome in poker, the types of teachers a student gets on the first day will determine the success of their year. My stomach was tied in knots, and I could feel the sweat soaking through my shirt. My hands were sweating as I spun the combination lock. I tried remembering the numbers but it just could not get to my mind. I was thinking 1234 or 4321? The next thing I ever did know what I was doing was running down the hallway screaming while other people were giggling and staring at me like I was doing everything wrong. They were just ....laughing....laughing....laughing. Then the bell noise came it sounded like the bell for my alarm clock. In fact I was in a nightmare all along! The alarm clock was beeping and beeping. It was so loud that it woke my brother from the other side of the wall. I was having the exact same dream with the exact same role in 5th grade summer. I was always worrying about how it was going to be like because of my dwarfism, but today it seemed even scarier since it was the first day school. It was like how the book Nightmares says that all dreams stay with you unless you face them. Well today I was going to face that nightmare. In this study, researchers used untrained male subjects to compare the effect low volume high intensity exercise interval (LV HIIE) and steady state exercise has on anti inflammatory (IL 6 IL 10) and antioxidant levels in the blood during and afterwards. Cytokines are proteins, connected to the level of oxidative stress present at that time. Females cycled for 60 minutes of a workload 60% of their VO2peak. Sweat and venous samples were collected at 20 minutes and the conclusion of exercise. The experimenters were hoping that since HIIT has the ability to produce elevated amounts of IL 6 circulating in the blood, it would be detectable in all 3 measurements. Tradition tells us who we are. Although traditions are customs or beliefs from generation to generation, breaking a tradition can have a positive outcome. For instance, Havche leaving the family was a symbolism of giving up tradition. Havche was able to burst out of her bubble by traveling the country with Schlesingers and doing what she wants to do. Without Havche, the house is a mess: the dishes aren t washed, the furniture is ruined and dirty, and her siblings are seen running around everywhere. Berel is seen gambling in bed with his friends and not even taking care of his children. The positive side of Havche leaving is that the family realizes that Havche plays an important role in the house. They finally realized that they cannot do anything without the help of Havche. Although Havche loves spending time with only Schlesingers, she can t help but worry about her family, which leads her to coming back. • 10. The Mexican American Border And Its Effects On The United... I am writing this letter to respectively bring your attention to the Mexican American border, its damaging effect on the United States economy, and potential solutions to this specific situation which has become known as the Border Crisis. As you may already know, the border runs from Tijuana, Baja California to Tamaulipas and Texas. According to the International Boundary and Water Commission, the border s length is 1,954 miles and is the most frequently crossed international border, mainly by undocumented immigrants from Mexico and Central America. As an attempt to contain this influx of illegal migration, former President George W. Bush signed the Secure Fence Act of 2006 stating, This bill will help protect American people. This bill will make our borders more secure. It is an important step toward immigration reform. While Mr. Bush may have had the United States safety at heart, one must question if the border fence is actually helping the economy or hurting it? There are several problems that have risen following the creation of the border fence; immigrants coming from The Northern Triangle have actually increased, Texas has become the deadliest entry state, undocumented and unaccompanied children are costing taxpayers even more, and simply maintaining the border fence is a very high cost. To start with, when people hear the word immigration , many automatically refer to Mexican immigrants. However, few tend to realize that the majority of immigrants are coming ... The study findings considered CHG dressings effective in prevention of CRBSIs where the rate of infection was 2% versus 10% in the standard dressings (Duzkaya et al., 2016). One study, however, did not find a statistical significant difference while comparing the CHG dressings with gauze and tape dressings for prevention of CRBSIs. Using level II evidence, Pedrolo et al. One of the recommended guideline is the use of CHG dressings for coverage of the CVC insertion site. The Stetler model, was first developed in 1976, refined in 1994, and last updated in 2001 and it addresses five phases that are necessary for the change to be adopted in the system (Stetler, 2001). The first phase is preparation and it involves isolating and affirming a need, identifying where the need will be applied, and conducting a comprehensive search for evidence based research regarding that need. Weber writes, It is concerned with how a political order is regarded as legal in the eyes of the population...and the legitimacy is maintained by reference to a legal code (13). Individuals or groups with legal rational authority are functional superiors or bureaucratic officials. This type of authority rules through the law, the government, and established norms. The reason their authority is accepted is that people generally believe rules and regulations are necessary in order to maintain a functioning society. Examples of legal authority figures are members of Congress, the President, the Queen of England, and average police officers. Celan utilizes several motifs to express his bitterness throughout the religious poem that allow his emotions to be portrayed in an understandable manner. One may identify death and a sense of closeness as the major motifs along with drinking and prayer as minor motifs Celan used to portray his dark emotions. With the use of effective motifs, the key element of role reversal, and an angered tone, Celan gets his warning to God. The poem is spoken through humans towards God, with an evident theme of death that is demonstrated throughout the poem. Death is shown through the sense of slaughter; it is brought up in the beginning of the poem with the use of words claw, and clawed. It is a possibility that these words are the author s way of referencing the slaughter. In ritual slaughter animals were killed not by blunt force, but by something sharp. Knifes or perhaps claws were used to cut the animal open such that blood flowed freely out the animal1.Celan keeps up the motif of death with the following verses. Askew we went there, (10) went there to bend (11) down to the trough, to the crater. (12) To be watered we went there, Lord. (13) Celan alludes to animals with the metaphor in lines 11 and 12 with the word trough . One may agree with this idea considering the fact that cattle feed, and drink out of troughs. Crater and watered could be seen as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The young Peter would enter a ministry of Justice as a clerk in 1859 (Mason 1). Tchaikovsky stayed there four years despite the long journey to Western Europe and increasing involvement in music. In 1863 he entered the conservatory where he took private teachings and focused all his energy to his music and compositions. Three years later in 1866 he and his family had moved to Moscow with a professorship of harmony at a new conservatory. Even by this time very little of his music had pleased the conservative musical establishment or the more nationalist group. It was not until 1868 when his 1st Symphony had a good public reception when heard in Moscow. Not even a year later Tchaikovsky wrote his first opera the Voyevada. He later used this piece in his next opera the Oprichnik, which won some success at St. Petersburg in 1874. It was then that a critic named Balakirev requested that he write a work on Romeo and Juliet, which would later be known as the Fantasy Overture. This specific work was rewritten many times until it met the requirements of Balakirev. This romantic piece is a symphony where each theme stood for a character in the drama. It is these expressive themes that make his first works well defined. The symphony Romeo and Juliet is a love song in sonata form. It is a Fantasy Overture and not a symphonic poem, because Tchaikovsky makes no attempt to tell the story in order or in detail (Hanson 118). The piece opens with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 15. Hurricane Katrina Flood Risk Analysis Article #1: Flood Risk Management in the United States and the Impact of Hurricane Katrina. Article #1 Major points: The major points that the article focused on were that since people have first stepped foot on this continent, flooding has always been present. This constant presence has required the federal and local governments to help assist with the flood control, management, and the damages that flooding causes. There have been many policies established to help with floodplain management, but since the terrorist attack on September 11th, the risk analysis approach has taken precedent over the other policies (Galloway 302). Different disasters in our history have encouraged a variety of action from the government and other organizations. For instance, failing dams prompted a national dam safety program and analyzed the risks of those living below dams (301). What a doll that was cursed, able to move on her own and be insane? A doll that can smell a sin miles to acres away and track it down like a hungry bloodhound in the cold winter willing to eat any meat. That s what happened years ago, I thought it was a legend, but never make a sin in front of the doll. You ll wake her from her sleep and she ll take revenge on all humanity to make the world pure. ************************************************ I was five when I got the doll, not giving a care in the world to my surroundings. The doll was weird looking, almost terrifying to look at, but the doll looked to me interestingly enough to keep it and play with. She had a red top hot with a blue ribbon wrapped around it with midnight blue hair by the looks of it with light blue for her bangs, her hair in two ponytails in the upper back part of her head. Her left eye was stitched up and the right though liked like the kind that can be used for any emotion to speak of with the color of ice blue. She had a dress that covered her neck, her upper body and leggings for pants, on the feeling of the material. Her shoulders, forearm, and her nails painted black. Her shoes, just plain black with flat boots, able to take off and put back on. Doll also had pink spider earrings that was very detailed to the very inch. They expanded into northern Europe and Britain and conquered or attempted to conquer various types of people. Based on my reading of Tacitus The Agricola and The Germania, I have knowledge of the life and customs of the Britons, subject of the Agricola, and the Germans, subject of the Germania. This of course being the Romans, and more specifically Tacitus, observation and view of these groups of people. The customs of the Britons differed from that of the Romans. The customs of the Germans also differed from those of the Romans. Germany contained various people and was thought of by Tacitus as indigenous with little foreign blood. Their physical characteristics are all the same, they cannot endure hard work and tiring chores as the Romans can. Their only form of wealth was in numbered livestock, because their lands didn t have a lot of silver or gold. But after being exposed to the Romans, they began to value gold and silver. Unlike the weapons of swords and lances, the Germans use spears with short and narrow blades, javelins and shields. They don t train their horses like the Romans, for speed. Their strength is in their infantry, not their cavalry. Their system of power and authority is quite different. For instance, the power of the kings is not absolute, the commanders lead by example not authority, and the priests inflict punishments. The chiefs fight for victory on the battlefield, and the followers fight for their chiefs not themselves. Tacitus views the Germans as having a need for violence. The Effect Of Heat Capacity Of Water Introduction The aim of the experiment is measure the specific heat capacity of water and two metals, aluminum and copper respectively of different conductivity to heat. Heat is a form of energy associated with the motion of atoms or molecules and is capable of being transmitted through solid and fluid media by conduction, through fluid media by convection, and through empty space by radiation. It could also be defined as the transfer of energy from one body to another as a result of the difference in temperature or the change in phase. The specific heat could be defined as the amount of heat energy per one kilogram required to raise the temperature by a degree kelvin. In this experiment the, there is heating of water and the metals by, electrical energy been converted into heat energy. A certain voltage is required to give rise to the temperatures for according to Charles law, voltage is directly proportional to temperature provided that pressure is constant. Theory Supplying a thousand grams of energy to water is not the same as supplying a thousand grams of energy to a metal for they will not rise the same when it all comes down to temperature. What the difference is between water and a metal is that they are both of different materials, which is they both would have different boiling and melting point, conductivity and varied structures of and intermolecular bonds of the substances. Understanding Thermal or Solar Heat Gain Coefficients In order to understand the word thermal within a building, then SHGC which is solar heat gain coefficients had to be known to known the property of thermal insulation and conductivity in a whole manner. Solar heat gain coefficient is widely use in the United State in designing building. SHGC may refer to the transmittance of solar energy of windows or even walls, every object can be evaluate by using solar heat gain coefficient method by knowing the properties of each material. If a material have high solar heat gain coefficient, then the material is a good absorbent of solar heat. For material that is black in colour, inevitably it absorb heat faster because of the colour doesn t reflect the wavelength that comes directly from the source of light. So, low e components of a building that comes with low solar heat gain coefficient will reflect and keep heat source that came from sun away from the house and that will probably makes a house cooler. Solar heat gain coefficient usually dealt with windows that possess a low e property. Low e may regard to the emissivity of one s material. Nowadays window mostly is transparent, and that makes it vulnerable for sunlight to penetrate easily into a house without any reflection. This is evidenced when a man speaks to the crowd and His language becomes high flown...the feelings he arouses return to him enlarged and amplified, reinforcing his own to the same degree (212). The speaker expresses the collective sentiment and, much like a biological positive feedback loop, the emotions of the crowd resonate back to the speaker. Thus the speaker transcends his own identity as simply an individual and becomes an incarnate of the group. When emotions trickle down from society to the individual, they loop back and beget society. By investigating the piacular rites of the Australian aborigines, Durkheim suggests that social rituals create both a sense of grief and group duty. Primitive forms of mourning consist of beating, bruising, lacerating, and burning oneself...sometimes [to the extent that] they do not survive their wounds (402). Through these acts of self inflicted pain and torment, members of society partake in a form of re presenting the dichotomy of life and death. The emotional rites seem to stem from society itself, for the rites embody the rites of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Marvin Gaye s Song Inner City Blues Inner City Blues Inner City Blues, short for Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler) is a song written by, the pop/R B classic, Marvin Gaye and James Nyx Jr. This song was released as the third and final single from the compelling song of his 1971 milestone album, What s Going On. In this song, Gaye talks about poverty and hopelessness in the ghetto urban places of the 1960 s. Many of Gaye s songs contain political and social issues; Inner City Blues is great melody that depicts the political injustice seen during the Vietnam War. Inner City Blues, inspired by political unrest over the Vietnam War and Marvin Gaye s brother experiences from the war, helped Gaye become one of many artists who have had three or more songs on the ... • 35. Political Change In Syria In 2011, a few years prior to the bombing of the Temple of Baalshamin, Syria officially became a country plagued by continuous conflict. A civil uprising began against the government of the country and started what is now known as the Syrian Civil War. Mass numbers of Syrian individuals were displeased with what they felt was a corrupt political regime ruling their country and sought to create a better way of life through their pro democracy protest. Unfortunately, as the government fought back and Syrian citizens continued to protest, shots were fired and the country collectively spiraled out of control leaving around eighty percent of the population in poverty by 2015. In an attempt to establish order amidst all the social turmoil, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Without knowing this, conflict and destruction will continue to occur in Syria, and for that matter the rest of the world. What then is currently being done to stop such atrocities from occurring? Specifically in the case of the Temple of Baalshamin, many if not all of the preventative and preservation systems set in place to save remnants of human history only look at solving the problem at a surface level. For example, the Million Image Database Project and the New Palmyra Project both focus on preserving the Temple of Baalshamin through the collection of pictures and using digital computer renderings, in hopes that one day this site and potentially other sites could be rebuilt or forever preserved through the internet. While important as a step towards reducing loss, neither of these specific preservation examples seek to prevent such destruction from occurring in the first place. Be that as it may, even if there were a hundred systems in place that specifically attempt to prevent such instances of destruction from happening, it is highly likely they would focus only on alleviating issues that are at the surface layer of the underlying issues in a society, such as relieving hunger, poverty, and other forms of human distress. In order to truly prevent violent, heinous, and hateful acts of destruction from happening, one must look at preventing the issue by resolving ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. The Crucible And 12 Angry Men Analysis The Crucible and Twelve Angry Men (1957 film) share many similarities between them, particularly in the themes they convey throughout the texts. Justice and prejudice are the main ideas presented in both texts, however the setting and outcomes differ significantly between the two, providing a different insight in each text. Both authors, Miller and Lumet, present relevant issues in the context of the 1950s that both texts were written. The similar social condition of America that the two texts were published in is a likely factor as to why the two texts have similar motifs presented throughout. Both The Crucible and Twelve Angry Men (1957 film) are about justice. The two texts feature important scenes involving a trial where the fate of a character s life rests in the hands of other people. However, the two texts have very different final outcomes. In both texts, the main protagonists argue against the majority, despite the backlash that they receive. Proctor speaks out in The Crucible after learning about the lies that Abigail and her friends are telling that have caused the imprisonment of members of the town and are even threatening their lives. Proctor takes a considerable risk by arguing against the witchcraft, especially in the Puritan society where religion is how the town is governed. His decision inevitably backfires on him and begins the series of events that lead to his execution. On the other hand, Juror #8 in Twelve Angry Men goes against the majority as he sees the boys poor upbringing, his less than fair state appointed defence attorney and the jury s almost immediate unanimous decision to convict him, unjust and believes he deserves a better chance. Unlike Proctor, Juror #8 speaking out against the other men results in justice for the accused who walks away with his life. Justice in the two texts is represented considerably differently to each other. In The Crucible it is evident that Abigail and her friends are in the wrong, condemning people to be death by lying and accusing the town members of Witchcraft, and therefore Proctor attempting to expose them for their dishonesty and bring justice to those who had been wrongfully accused, which included his wife, was a brave and noble thing to ... • 37. Short Stories About Failure And Help, Perseverance, And Faith I am honored to be speaking here today. Eighth grade was a fun, but tough year. At the beginning of eighth grade I was excited and worried for the year to come. Now I think of this year and I think of how fast it went, the fun I had, and the troubles I had. I think of how I am going into high school. It s hard to believe. I am not here to talk to you about freaking out about high school. I want to tell you about eighth grade and what you will experience. I have three stories to tell you. Only three. Three stories about failure and help, perseverance, and faith. The first story is about failure. Failure is something I was afraid of, especially in math. I never wanted to fail. I wanted to try my best and do amazing on everything. Sadly, being perfect isn t how the world works. In math, at the end of the year, I was really worried about a unit we were doing. At first I thought I knew what I was doing. I had a good handle on the problems in class and on the homework. When it came to the first quiz, I failed it. When I saw the score on the computer screen I almost burst into tears. I was harder on myself than anyone was on me. I knew I tried my best, but I didn t feel like it. I had never failed before. The teacher came around the next day and asked if I needed any extra help. At first I was thinking, no. I do not need help. Later that night I changed my mind. I went to her class during my lunch and she answered my questions and helped me on some practice problems. • 38. The Nearly Fatal Snow Caving Trip Essay The Nearly Fatal Snow Caving Trip Sharp pains shooting through muscles, trying to avoid sleep, hypothermia set in on an Antarctic ice crevasse researcher. I had the opportunity to go snow caving with my brother, Josh. I was confident in my winter backcountry skills and anticipated a memorable trip. I did not know what I was getting into. Growing colder day by day, winter became more dominant. Deep snow made travel difficult. To navigate through this terrain, I would have to wear special equipment. There are a few ways to travel over snow: snowmobiles, cross country skis, and snowshoes. The uneven terrain and fresh powder called for snowshoes. Along with shoes, winter camping requires many other types of gear. To cope with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I recommended to my brother that he should put his snowshoes on before his pack. Climbing over the hardened, plowed up wall of snow, we began our journey. Beginning at a popular cross country ski trail, the traveling was enjoyably easy. Crunching the hardened snow with each step and occasionally meandering off the trail and atop the soft snow, my confidence towered. Distancing ourselves from the car, we passed many pine trees, whose branches and needles would sway in the wind like bowing Chinese men. I sensed the wind whistling through the trees, carrying the light, dry snow across my rosy, wind blown cheeks and burrowing between my neck and shirt collar. In addition, the wind would create beautiful structures of snow, snowdrifts of every size and shape. Remarkable curves and textures created a landscape like a foreign frozen world. At this point, the ski trail dwindled to nothing, so we began to break our own trail. After several demanding hours of trail breaking, we were sweating heavily. The once bone chilling wind had become a blessing with our now unzipped parkas. We questioned the validity of traveling further. We had passed many gigantic snowdrifts and possible campsites, but now tired and anxious we began searching for the ultimate site for our snow cave. Finally, siding a cliff the snow looked deep with easy access. The evergreen trees, with low lying branches created bowls around their bases. This area of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Production Assistant Job Analysis I had worked as a production assistant before during the summer, however I had never worked in fabrication for pre production. For my work as a production assistant on set for the senior thesis film, Duet, directed by Lucas Bugbee and produced by Daniel Debach. My first job on set was helping set up furniture and tables out in the backyard for crew stations such as craft services, camera, and makeup. One we began setting up lights in the house we were filming, I assisted in laying down ram board for the grip and electric so that they could place lights down without damaging the old floors. Another job we had was making sure people outside the house were quiet since we were rolling sound. Member of production stood in the front and back of house to maintain quiet ... After that point, production was much harder on the cast and crew about keeping the door closed. I assisted art department in moving furniture in the house for what was needed by the crew. I later assisted the UPM pick up and set up lunch for actors and crew. Another job the production team manage was bringing food to cast and crew, having a child on set we had to more on top of making sure water and food were easily available to them. One small issue was occasionally grip and electric were not available to grab small items such as apple boxes and sandbags, so production would fly those in. Although aware this is not how professional shoots work, the production crew went along due to how light the crew was. One thing I got to learn about while the shoot was seeing the producer and UPM assemble top sheets. The producer programmed the spreadsheet to read green when actual costs were under the predicted costs and red for if the actual costs were higher than the predicted costs. This experience allowed me to learn more about production management and cost management during this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Mammoth Hot Springs Research Paper NORTH MAMMOTH / LAMAR Mammoth Hot Springs is the park headquarters and holds more history than any place in the park. It is home to some of the oldest buildings in the Park, including structures from the when the U.S. Army managed the Yellowstone area. If you re interested in Yellowstone s history, be sure to visit the newly remodeled Albright Visitor Center Museum. The primary feature of this area are the terraced style hot springs. These features are quite different from thermal areas elsewhere in the park, due to the softer limestone, these formations grow rapidly. The location of the springs can change almost daily, but the overall volume of water discharged remains constant. Serious photographers should not miss an opportunity ... • 41. Panspermia And The Demise Of Humanity The possibility of the world ending is something that is in the back of many people s minds. It is the ultimate death. It is the end of not only yourself, but the end of humanity as a whole. There are many ways that this could happen, ranging from Asteroids colliding with our planet, to alien invasion, and even self annihilation via war. I am focusing on something that is very improbable, but just might lead to the demise of humanity. Alien invasion. Most people think of alien invasions as a giant war with another spacefaring, sentient race, however, it can come as a more subtle, possibly even more deadly way. An alien pandemic has multiple ways of killing our race, from the infection itself, to self annihilation. The possibility of the world ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The possibility of the world ending due to spacefaring, or alien bacteria entering our atmosphere and destroying the human race is a great possibility.
