This proposal is for a magazine called "Boy" targeted towards young women ages 15-25 who identify as "tomboys". The magazine would feature articles about why the target audience dresses in a stereotypically masculine way and include fashion items they enjoy wearing. Photographs of the author in different outfits would be used on the cover and interior pages. The author has skills in photography, Photoshop, and InDesign which would be used to design, layout, and produce the magazine. It would have a cohesive color scheme and feature the author's personal style and opinions to appeal to other "tomboys". Evaluations of the work would provide lessons for future media projects.

Book Formatting: Quality Control Checks for DesignersConfidence Ago
This presentation was made to help designers who work in publishing houses or format books for printing ensure quality.
Quality control is vital to every industry. This is why every department in a company need create a method they use in ensuring quality. This, perhaps, will not only improve the quality of products and bring errors to the barest minimum, but take it to a near perfect finish.
It is beyond a moot point that a good book will somewhat be judged by its cover, but the content of the book remains king. No matter how beautiful the cover, if the quality of writing or presentation is off, that will be a reason for readers not to come back to the book or recommend it.
So, this presentation points designers to some important things that may be missed by an editor that they could eventually discover and call the attention of the editor.

7 Alternatives to Bullet Points in PowerPointAlvis Oh
So you tried all the ways to beautify your bullet points on your pitch deck but it just got way uglier. These points are supposed to be memorable and leave a lasting impression on your audience. With these tips, you'll no longer have to spend so much time thinking how you should present your pointers.
1. Proposal
1
Working Title:
Boy
Audience:
My audience would consist mainly women, who are young adults, who dress themselves as
“tomboys”. These are not stereotypical women in dresses! These people are between the ages of
15 to 25.
This magazine would appeal to my audience as they may want to hear from other people who
dress themselves stereotypically masculine. E.g. they would like to hear why they dress like they
do and what other people think. I would also include clothing like a catalogue style.
I think this product would most likely attract age 15 – 25 because it is most likely between those
ages that you find your style and this magazine is perfect for people who like dressing themselves
in this way. It would definitely be aimed at women as the term “tomboy” is used to describe women
who stereotypically dress more masculine.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
This year, I have learned lots of skills. For example, I have learned to use a Canon 600D camera. I
could use this skill for taking pictures for my magazine. Another skill that I know how to work
Photoshop. This skill is a work in progress, but I can definitely use this for editing photographs that
I have taken, making logos/barcodes and other creative media used in my project. Finally, I will be
using the skill of knowing how to use InDesign. This skill is new to me as I have recently used this
program, but I know how it works. I will use this skill to layout, design and potentially make my
project.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
The concept of my magazine is mainly to share my looks of a ‘Tomboy’ style dress sense. It will,
also, share my opinions on how I dress. However, I will include some of my favourite fashion items
that I wear every day.
For the front cover, someone will be taking a photograph of me, waring my favourite outfit and this
will be main image focus of the front cover. Then I will put in large text the title and this will sit on
the top of the page. Around the main image of myself, I will be placing subtitles to show the
audience what is in my magazine. This might persuade them to read it as it is cleverly organized.
For the double page spread, like the front cover, someone will be taking photographs of myself in
various outfits to put around the pages. These will not be as big as the main image on the front
cover. For my 750-word count, I will be writing about how and why I dress myself in this way, what
was my inspiration and what other people think about me. This will give an insight to the audience
of my opinion.
I will be design this with a colour scheme in mind so that the audience will be wowed by the
aesthetically pleasing qualities of my magazine.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I plan to evaluate my work in a way that I can easily go back and read the evaluations that I have
completed. From this I will learn to do things differently or the same considering the effect it has on
the work. From learning, it will have the effect towards the future media projects.
