• Oscar Wiseman – ‘hi Oscar, would you be able to model for
a photo-shoot of mine for my media studies magazine? I
will let you know what dates when it is nearer the time.’
• George Redrup - ‘George, I need a model for my photo-
shoot for my media studies magazine and I was wondering
whether you would want to model for it? If you do, I will let
you know what dates the photo-shoot will be nearer the
time.’
• Lucy Morris – Hi Lucy, I need to female model for my music
magazine for media studies. I was wondering if you would
like to model with a few guys joining you. If you are willing
to model for me, I will let you know the dates of the photo-
shoot at a later date.’
3. Props list for Photo-shoot for Male
Models.
I want to have my models looking smart but also to look casual. I want the clothing to match the models personality and I want them to show to the audience that this magazine is an alternative
magazine. I want my audience to relate to the models on the front cover. I don’t want the clothing to be to far away from what the models already where, as it want the whole image to fit. Also, if
I decide to use a band on my front cover I do not want them all looking exactly the same, I want some diversity in my images, and I want each model to be individual, like many alternative bands
are. However, I also like the idea of having a band and having one of the band mates very smart and the others in more causal clothing, this could show the main singer etc.
• Boots. (ankle boots, or smart riding boots).
I have chosen these shoes, as they are quite a popular shoe wear for band/solo artists in this genre. I think these shoes really go with my idea of the smart and casual look. They do not look
‘scruffy’ but not too smart. They look like the type of shoes the models would wear out.
From some of my research of band such as Imagine dragons/alt-j etc. I have seen that a lot of them wear these type of boots. I think it will fit very well with my genre if I use these shoes.
• Denim Jackets/ Leather Jacket.
I think that these options of jackets are a good idea for my models, as through my research I have seen that these jackets are a popular choice between the bands. I think, especially the denim
jacket, have a very chilled and relaxed look to them, as this is what I want to show. I want my audience to be able to relate to them and if they are dressed in clothes which maybe the audience
wont understand, or be able to afford ( imagining my models are famous) and by having these it will do this.
• T-shirts and shirts/ polo shirts.
I think t-shirts and shirts are a good idea to use, as they are very popular with my target audience. I shows a stylish but also casual and everyday look. I think a plain tshirt with a denim or leather
jacket over the top will look very good, and from my research of alternative bands/solo artists it is the style which they seem to wear. So, to show the alternative aspect of my magazine I think
these t-shirts/shirts will work really well.
• Jeans.
I like the idea of jeans as they can relate to anyone, females/males etc. From my research I can see that plain jeans are a popular choice, and quite often skinny jeans. I want to use this idea as
from my target audience it will be similar trousers in which they would wear, so it will be a good way for my audience to be able to relate to the magazine. It keeps the clothing smart but casual
which is the look I am going for. And I think it will finish the clothing off well.

Models continued.
• Guitar.
By researching other alternative music artists I have seen that the majority of them use electric guitars, and this is the look I am
going for. I want my audience to be able to relate to the images on the magazine, and if they are dressed and have similar objects
to my audience they will feel this magazine will be something to interest them.
• Microphone and stand.
For a few of my images I want it to look as if my music artist/band are at a concert. Typically they often have standing
microphones, so I would need to have this. I want to look like a typical concert for my audience to see what they are like when
playing.
5. Props list for Photo-shoot for Female
Models.
• I want my models to look casual but stylish. By doing some research I have noticed that the female
singers especially take a lot of pride in what they wear. I like the slightly more vintage look, and I think
this will look really effective in my magazine.
• I think dungarees really go with my idea of stylish but pretty idea. I want my models to attract the attention
of my audience. So I am trying to think of what my target audience would wear to draw them in and I think
dungarees would really work.
• I think even an oversized shirt with leggings
would be really effective. As this would really
appeal to all audiences. As it is something in
which they can afford and would wear too.
