This paper introduces a new hybrid multipath routing protocol for mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) called Hybrid Multipath Progressive Routing Protocol (HMPRP), which improves performance by optimizing bandwidth usage and extending battery life. HMPRP integrates features from existing protocols like AODV, OLSR, and ZRP, and is shown to outperform them in terms of packet delivery ratio, energy consumption, throughput, and end-to-end delay based on simulation results. The study leverages EXATA Cyber 1.1 for simulations to validate the effectiveness of HMPRP compared to traditional routing protocols.
