The Gospel Of Judas, Tell Judas
A Gospel is a religious document that describes Jesus life from when he was born, until death and the
resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus, himself, had 12 disciples, whom advised him and later grew to the
name, The 12 Apostles . Those of whom Jesus call his Apostles (Students) were: Simon (Named
Peter), Andrew ( Peters brother), James (Son of Zamebee), John (James brother), Phillip,
Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew (The Tax Collector), James (Son of Alphaeus), Thaddaeus, Simon
(The Cananean) and lastly, Judas Iscariot. Of these Twelve Apostles, one presumably betrayed of lord.
His name, Judas Iscariot. The Gospel of Judas, tell Judas accounts of what is going on through his
point of view. It has been lost through time. But has been found. 1,600 years later in the caverns of
Egypt.
Gnostic Church s are the religious
Throughout all the other gospels, they claim that Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus Christ to the Romans
for a mass sum, of 30 pieces of silver. Now that may not sound like too much now, but back then in
33AD, it was a large amount. Judas was a politician. Who played both Jews and romans to use Jesus
as leader of the revolution against the roman empire, in which was doubled politic by Jews and the
Rabbi and they get rid of both Jesus and Judas in one place. Once they were united, Judas laid a kiss
upon Jesus , cheek, telling the Romans; whom were watching, that this is Jesus Christ. The Romans
didn t believe Jesus to be the man whom he d heard stories about.

The Great Gatsby Baz Luhrmann
The Great Luhrmann The Great Gatsby directed by Baz Luhrmann, takes a slight modern spin on the
original story written F. Scott Fitzgerald. Luhrmann captures the essence of the 1920 s phenomenally,
while adding current day characteristics. The Great Gatsby shows brilliance and self indulgence and
the movie truly illustrated those concepts. Unlike the original story, Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire)
tells the story of his adventures with Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio), from a mental asylum to his
psychiatrist. Gatsby was a very ambitious yet mysterious character and DiCaprio could not have been
more perfect for this role. DiCaprio was cast as the lead in Romeo and Juliet by Luhrmann years
before, as he always makes characters he plays dazzle,

The Importance Of Art In Schools
Bob Bryant the Executive Director of Fine Arts for Katy ISD in 2000, emphasises the importance of
utilizing art in schools curriculums: The arts are what make us most human, most complete as people.
The arts cannot be learned through occasional or random exposure any more than math or science can
(Bryant). Art is a way of expression and leads to acquiring a deeper understanding of the details ,
presented to us, in life. Why is that on the first day of preschool, teachers teach through the help of
art? The foundation of our learning is through art. Creativity is the most exuberant and imaginative as
our early stages of life. Creativity can neither be contained nor limited. Art is an outlet used for people
to show who they are. Not only does art the pivot of one s individualism, but it is also kindred with
intercultural relationships. Traditional pieces of art are passed down from each generation to carry out
a group s heritage. Since art is an essential, integral part in a student s academic learning, schools
should make art classes mandatory. Students should be engaged and willing to learn more about what
they are learning. With art there is no need for you to be good at it. Art is depended only on the artist
himself/herself. If students view art as just another subject then they are missing the academic value
art gives. Students have said that art should be viewed as an extracurricular activity or exploratory
classes. Art goes beyond having artistic value and surpasses the idea of one s own limits. Some people
see art as an elective class, or a hobby class. According to Allyono17, one of the authors of Teen Ink
magazine, explains the importance of the beneficiaries of the present by saying, First, art and music
classes don t seem to be used on an everyday basis. There is no point in learning and spending time on
a class that won t be needed in your future (Allyono17). Every class that a student takes, will benefit
them in some way or the other. When walking into a school, the first thing people will see are artwork
in the halls. When going to church, people see artwork of who and what they believe in. Art is
everywhere, and if students are required to take art classes then they will be able to

Essay on Federalist 10 Summary
Summary Analysis of Federalist #10 Summary:
Madison begins perhaps the most famous of the Federalist papers by stating that one of the strongest
arguments in favor of the Constitution is the fact that it establishes a government capable of
controlling the violence and damage caused by factions. Madison defines that factions are groups of
people who gather together to protect and promote their special economic interests and political
opinions. Although these factions are at odds with each other, they frequently work against the public
interests, and infringe upon the rights of others. Both supporters and opponents of the plan are
concerned with the political instability produced by rival factions. The state governments have ...

To Madison, there are only two ways to control a faction: one, to remove its causes and the second to
control its effects. The first is impossible. There are only two ways to remove the causes of a faction:
destroy liberty or give every citizen the same opinions, passions, and interests. Destroying liberty is a
cure worse then the disease itself, and the second is impracticable. The causes of factions are thus part
of the nature of man and we must deal with their effects and accept their existence. The government
created by the Constitution controls the damage caused by such factions. The framers established a
representative form of government, a government in which the many elect the few who govern. Pure
or direct democracies (countries in which all the citizens participate directly in making the laws)
cannot possibly control factious conflicts. This is
because the strongest and largest faction dominates, and there is no way to protect weak factions
against the actions of an obnoxious individual or a strong majority. Direct democracies cannot
effectively protect personal and property rights and have always been characterized by conflict. If the
new plan of government is adopted, Madison hopes that the men elected to office will be wise and
good men the best of America. Theoretically, those who govern should be the least likely to sacrifice
the public good to temporary condition, but the opposite might

Borderline Personality Disorder And Mental Health Disorder
Borderline Personality Disorder There are many disorders in our world that affect us every day. Some
of these disorders can be manageable by simple changes in daily activates and others need extensive
treatments and yet will never be cured . Borderline personality disorder is one that affects a person so
radically that the person may consider suicide or even commit it. Extensive therapy and even
sometimes drugs are needed to lead a healthy life. BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER
(BPD) is a mental health disorder that affects how a person processes information and his or her
ability to understand and cope with different social situations. (Dolecki, 2012) People who suffer from
BPD don t really understand the ways of relationships (friends, family, intimate). They see concrete
ways and barely see the abstract of society. They are not very reliable or dependable and have
problems keeping jobs, friends and even paying bills. People with this disorder are usually impulsive
and do not always make thoughtful decisions . (Dolecki, 2012) Emotions can rage through the person
which can confuse them to think that they possibly are Bipolar. There are many symptoms that can be
expressed in a person who has borderline personality disorder. The symptoms can be general with
things such as mood and emotion swings, impulsive acting, low self esteem, and outbursts. Many of
these are common signs of teens going through puberty, but if they are the signs of a person with

Creating a Selfless Society
In the children s novels, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe written by C.S. Lewis, Harry Potter
and the Philosopher s Stone by J.K. Rowling, and Charlotte s Web by E.B. White we see that the
purpose of children s literature to teach selflessness. This quality will initially develop others loyalty if
it is continuously given to one another. Once loyalty is established, then a sense of responsibility for
protecting each other becomes natural. These traits demonstrate that the purpose of children s
literature is to teach children to be selfless through showing them ... Show more content on

These companions face many challenges from trying to win the house cup, to saving the Philosopher s
Stone. On this journey, the three children come across a chess game to which one of them has to
sacrifice their life to allow the others to progress in trying to save the stone. When Ron and Harry get
on top of the giant chess piece and play the magic game, Ron contemplates their final move. He looks
to the white queen chess piece and says softly, it s the only way... I ve got to be taken. NO! Harry and
Hermione [shout]. That s chess! [snaps] Ron, You ve got to make some sacrifices! (Rowling, 283).
Ron thinks that in order for his friends to move on, he must willingly sacrifice his life out of loyalty to
his friends. This shows the small group s growing sense of loyalty for one another through all the
challenges each of them face together. Hermione stays behind with Ron to take care of him, while
Harry continues on to save the stone with a new cause because of that sacrifice. Again we see that,
when selflessness is shared with people, loyalty will soon follow. This shows that when a person is
selfless their acts will be reciprocated and this will lead to helping one another in a time of need.
Only after a person has established loyalty, a sense of responsibility towards one another becomes
natural. The author, C.S. Lewis, demonstrates this in The Lion, BOBECHKO 3

Happiness In Brave New World
The Brave New World depicts a society where happiness is completely necessary, and any other
feelings are against the social norms. People take a drug called soma to stabilize a constant mood of
happiness. Soma allows the people to feel nothing but the feeling of happiness at all times. In this
society, human beings are factory made and mass produced. The human beings are produced just as
society wants them to, to conform to the views of this utopia. Brave New World by Aldous Huxley is
based in a perfect futuristic society and stems from a theme of technological happiness.
In today s society, people result to the consumption of drugs to cope with their realistic feelings. They
force themselves to cover up the pains they feel. In comparison,

Why Is Okonkwo So Cruel
Okonkwo was well known throughout his village and beyond for his fame which rested on personal
achievements. He was a tempered man and couldn t get his words out quick enough, and so, he would
use his fists. His wives, especially the youngest, lived in fear of his fiery temper, and sometimes he
would beat them. Why was Okonkwo so violent and cruel? This was because of his lazy, craven
father, who wasted his life away, and died a failure. Okonkwo however, was clearly cut out for great
things. He had fame for being the greatest wrestler in the nine villages, was a wealthy farmer, and had
already married his third wife. However, Okonkwo s life was dominated by the fear of failure and
weakness, and it caused him to make drastic and heartbreaking decisions.

This filled Okonkwo with fury and he claimed that Nwoye was no longer his son. Now he was driven
to destroy these white men who took his son from him as well as many other people from his village.
After a while, some of the villagers attacked the church the white men had built and burnt it to the
ground. This made Okonkwo almost happy again, even though he had suggested to kill them.
Two days went by and nothing else had happened. Okonkwo and some men went to the commissioner
to discuss the situation, and instead, they were handcuffed and put into prison. This puts even more
fury and hate into Okonkwo and he thirsts for blood. He wanted to kill every white man in his village,
because they have taken everything away from him.
Once they paid the fine and were released from the prison, Okonkwo s fury leads him to behead an
innocent villager, and he then headed home, still filled with hate. He felt like he had lost everything,
his village, success, sons. He felt out of control and weak, like a failure. What he feared that he would
be. He couldn t handle it any more and so, Okonkwo made the decision to hang

it. This is how to put a saddle on a horse. First, before they can do anything else is to go and catch the

have to go to the horse stall and tie him up. Finally they are able to start the saddling process. First
they will need to get a brush and brush all the dirt of him. The reason they need to brush him off is
because if they saddle him with dirt still on him it will make the saddle uncomfortable, and this will

Herbicide Roundup Research Paper
How Long Does it Take Roundup to Work?
Weeds the cause of misery and a curse to gardeners everywhere, and the sooner they are gone the
better. Fortunately, the herbicide Roundup takes on their robust and bothersome growth and quickly
decimates their population, which allows more time for outdoor enjoyment than warring with weeds.
Wherever you have unwanted growth, Roundup makes a product to tackle the crisis and with most,
visible results are obvious in just a few hours after applying.

Before using, always read and familiarize yourself with the specific Roundup s instructions on the
label. In addition, always wear protective clothing like a long sleeved shirt and goggles to keep the
herbicide off your skin and out of your eyes. Always wash your hands immediately after using and
wash your clothes. Always allow the product to completely dry before permitting children or pets into
the treated area.
For the best results, always apply any Roundup product on a windless and sunny day when
temperatures are above 60 degrees Fahrenheit and no rain is in the forecast. If you accidentally spray a
plant, quickly rinse the herbicide off with water. To keep the environment safe, don t apply any
herbicide close to a body of water, storm drain, and ditch or gutter where runoff occurs.
If using a tank sprayer to apply any Roundup herbicides, make sure to use one made out of fiberglass,
plastic, stainless steel or plastic lined steel, and don t use a sprayer made out of unlined or galvanized
steel. Always follow each herbicide s mixing instructions on amounts and application instructions so
you don t injure desirable plants. In addition, testing the spray pattern on a concrete driveway before
heading into the garden assures you have the correct nozzle adjustment and you don t end up spraying
non targeted plants.

Interpersonal Conflict Paper
1) Interpersonal conflict can be defined as the interaction of interdependent people who perceive
incompatible goals and interference from each other in achieving those goals . Reese and her mother
have an interdependent relationship, meaning that the people involved in conflict rely on or need each
other in some way and have an actual relationship with each other. They are also interacting, which
means that conflicts are created and sustained through verbal and nonverbal communication. Even
though Reese and her mother are not as close as other members of the family, they still would have to
communicate in some way to realize that Reese s goal to travel over two hours away for college is
farther than her mother is comfortable with. These incompatible goals of distance become the root
cause of their interpersonal conflict.
2) This scenario between Reese and her mother would be considered content conflict within
interpersonal conflict. Content conflict is also considered substantive conflict and is defined as a
conflict that revolves around a specific issue. This disagreement falls within the scope of content
conflict as the two are arguing about the specific issue of exactly how far away Reese should be
allowed to travel for school.
3) Power, or the ability to control the behavior of another, plays a large role in this situation as Reese s
mother probably is feeling some sort of entitlement to make this decision for her daughter. At this

In Our Time by Ernest Hemingway
In Our Time, written by Ernest Hemingway, is a collection of short stories that were published in 1925
and defined Hemingway s writing style from there on. As a symbolic image of Hemingway himself,
Nick Adams is faced with troubling relationships that ultimately define who he is. Life experiences
from young to old define show how Nick lives his love before, during, and after World War One.
These experiences strengthen his relationships, maturity, and masculinity. One of the most important
themes, masculinity, is portrayed directly at the start of Hemingway s short story collection starting
with Indian Camp. In the first short story the reader sees the novels protagonist, Nick Adams ,
response to violence and suffering inflicted on others will ultimately define his own sense of
masculinity (Frazier). Witnessing this dramatic event at such a young age will define Nick s life and
change the way he views certain aspects of life just from watching a woman give birth. Nick s
maturity and responsibility are also themes that are greatly exploited just as well as his masculinity.
The reader first learns about Nick and his relationships with his girlfriend Marjorie in the short story
titled The End of Something. The title of this section symbolically relates to what is happening
because Nick and Marjorie get into an argument which seems to end their relationship. Lisa Tyler
states what Hemingway seems to be suggesting in In Our Time is that men s characters are

The central role of enzymes is to function as biological catalysts. Since the fundamental tasks of a
protein is to act as an enzyme, catalysts increase the rate of the activation energy within a cell. Cell
contain thousands of different enzymes, and their activities determine what chemical reaction will take
place within the cell. The enzyme and the activation energy function as a process within the cell,
chemical reactions do not just occur spontaneously or sporadically. Enzymes control the productivity
and speed of chemical reactions within our body, it s important to understand how they catalyze and

Economics of the Financial System
Show how transactions in derivatives can be used to either hedge risk or to open speculative positions.
Derivatives have become popular in response to the increasing volatility and complexity of financial
markets. A diverse range of new financial products have been created to enable market participants to
handle the risks arising from trade in securities and to speculate on future expected movements in
securities prices, without direct trade in the assets themselves. Derivative contract creates a promise to

After a month, the stock market falls as anticipated, and the futures price of the DJIA is at an index

Analysis Of Gaius Valerius Catullus s The Iliad
The one main difference between the gods and mortals is that mortals can die, making it difficult for a
man to become truly god like. Homer makes no mention of the afterlife in The Iliad, meaning that the
only true way for a mortal to live on is through the remembrance of their life on earth. Many strive for
immortality, but to achieve it, one must obtain Kleos, the glory a man receives in war. If a hero like
Achilles or Hector were mentioned to someone today, chances are, the person would know who the
hero was. This is how immortality through Kleos works. When the poet Gaius Valerius Catullus
describes how he wishes for his poems to last for many generations, even when he has long since
passed, he is explaining that, through his poetry, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of the promise of Kleos, a warrior is willing to risk everything he has, including his life, to
fight in battle. When Hector makes a visit to Troy, he visits his wife and son. His wife tries to
convince him to stay behind and not return, because if he does, he will die in battle. Hector knows
this, but says he is willing to risk his life to obtain the glory he and the rest of Troy deserve (Fagles, 6.
510 555.) There are 255 named deaths in The Iliad (Laura Jenkinson.) This statistic shows the
extremity of the fighting. Achilles, Diomedes, Hector, and Patroclus are the top killers in the epic.
These are, furthermore, four of the more commonly recognized names when someone mentions The
Iliad today. This correlates with the idea that those who kill more people are more likely to achieve
Kleos and be remembered. As a quantitative way of tracking how many people a warrior killed on the
battle field, he can take the armor from the man he killed and use it as a trophy. After Patroclus death,
an argument arises about who gets his armor, which is actually Achilles armor. Euphorbus claimed he
was the one who actually killed Patroclus so he deserves the prize, but Menelaus would not have it.
Menelaus killed Euphorbus, which resulted in all the Trojans being scared of facing Menelaus to fight
for the armor, with the exception of Hector. Hector succeeded in getting Patroclus armor, by showing
fearlessness and willingness to fight for it (Fagles, 17.1 140).

Religious Thinkers In Moliere s Tartuffe
The Enlightenment period was a revolutionary time in history. Countless thinkers during this time
challenged the traditional ideologies in an effort to bring in a new way of thinking that embraced logic

not show very high regard to these thinkers, most were censored. imprisoned, tortured and/or exiled

actually uses his insatiable lust against him in act 3.3 in order to expose Tartuffe for who he was to
Orgon. Lastly, wrath and greed are seen shortly after this. When Orgon jumps out from under the table
where he was listening in to the whole affair, he tries to banish Tartuffe out of the house, however,
Tartuffe is greatly angered by this and blackmails Orgon with letter that were given to him allowing
him to inherit Orgon s house and fortune. This also reveals that this was another one of Tartuffe s
intentions all along, and he used his façade to manipulate Orgon throughout this entire affair to get his
fortune.
Lastly, Moliere depicts Tartuffe as sort of a pest or a nuisance. Tartuffe ...is even the canonic example
and the excellent model of the parasite. What is astonishing is that he had come to be the
personification of a hypocrite.

The Costs of Marijuana Prohibition Essay
The Costs of Marijuana Prohibition
The nation that we live in today proudly proclaims its perpetuation of freedom and democracy, and
with these qualities it conveys supreme justice. The United States government and its constitution are
regarded by many as the pinnacle of civil government, as the ultimate projection of civil justice.
However, no government is perfect, for man himself is inherently imperfect. For over two centuries
since its birth, The U.S. constitution, which many hold in such high esteem, has been continuously
molded to fit our ever changing society. Many of these changes have been good and necessary, while
others have caused unforeseen problems. Even in light of harm to society, however, the constitution

government and condoned by law officials and citizens alike.
Throughout this argument for marijuana legalization, the notion of justice will be repeatedly called
upon, and the justice of the current system and policy will be analyzed and disputed. In order for this
analysis to happen, justice itself must first be defined thoroughly and given precise parameters.
According to Webster s Dictionary, justice is the quality of being just, impartial, or fair, and
conformity to truth, fact, or reason. Justice from this point on will include the following: the logical
execution of law or standard based solely on proven facts or truth, and the existence of fairness and
equality throughout these actions.
The drug war that the U.S. government is waging is not limited to law enforcement crackdowns and
mandatory prison sentences. According to the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, declines in teen
drug use are preceded by a generally higher awareness of the harms of drugs (Torr 39). Obviously, the
perpetrators of the national anti drug campaign are alert to this fact, and they have put it to their use.
Recently the Office of National Drug Control Policy, or the ONDCP, has used the media, specifically
television, as a tool to flaunt anti drug propaganda to the American public. Television commercials
about the dangers of marijuana use have flooded T.V. networks. In fact, the ONDCP actually spent

She was forty when SeaWorld killed her. Dawn Brancheau took blunt force trauma to the head, neck,
and torso before drowning. The SeaWorld trainer died doing what she loved, which was interacting
with orcas. The killer whale, Tilikum, attacked her.
Opening in 1964, theme park and entertainment company Seaworld has three locations: Orlando,
Florida; San Diego, California; San Antonio, Texas. SeaWorld s most popular attractions include their
orca shows, including One Ocean and Blue Horizons. Once an orca belongs to SeaWorld, it stays there
for the rest of its life.
SeaWorld should be shut down for its mistreatment of orcas.

Then, SeaWorld transports baby orcas to other parks, often too soon for it to be away from its mother.
Born September 25th, 1985 at SeaWorld Orlando, Kalina was the original baby Shamu. According to
British Divers Marine Life Rescue, Kalina was moved in 1990 to SeaWorld Ohio for 10 months,
SeaWorld San Diego for 8 months, then SeaWorld San Antonio. Kalina s mom, Katina, was never a
very vocal whale according to former SeaWorld trainer, Samantha Berg. After Kalina was taken away,
Katina stayed in the corner of a pool, shaking, screeching, and crying. There was nothing that you
could call that, watching it, besides grief, said Berg. In 1994, Kalina returned to SeaWorld Orlando.
Due to such a long absence, her mother ignored her for the rest of her life.
Captivity is detrimental to orcas health. According to PETA, less than 1% of orcas in the wild have
collapsed dorsal fins. A collapsed dorsal fin is a sign of depression, illness, injury, or dehydration. In
SeaWorld, 100% of captive male Orcas have a collapsed dorsal fin. Orcas are captured from the
oceans and thrown together in a pool. Though all have that signature black and white pattern, they are
not all the same. Neuroscientist Lori Marino discovered that orcas are highly emotional due to an extra
part of their brain that even humans do not have. An orca s sense of self is distributed among the

The Transition of an Offender from Jail into the Community...
Many would say that offenders are hopeless and if one looks at the rate of recidivism, one would
definitely think that our nation s offenders are indeed hopeless. However, what if there was a way to
reduce the rate of recidivism and at the same time rehabilitate offenders in order to make them
functioning members of the community? Reentry programs that are implemented correctly cannot
only reduce the rate of recidivism but at the same time help to rehabilitate an offender through
education, treatment, and therapy. The Second Chance At is a law that went into effect April 29, 2008

One of the main barriers that inmates face when they are released from prison is limited cognitive
skills, limited education and work experience, and substance abuse or other mental health problems.
Substance abuse and other mental health problems limit employability because it limits the job
readiness that is required for employment (Holzer, Raphael Stoll, 2003). Another issue that is faced
when inmates are released into society is that any skills that they did have prior to conviction has
diminished greatly and they face lower pay due to their diminished or lack of skills, and the attitudes
that have been developed during their time in prison deeply affects their attitude during their search
for employment. Offenders also face another barrier when searching for employment. Many
businesses can be held legally liable for any criminal action that their employees may cause (Holzer,
Raphael Stoll, 2003). These barriers that offenders face upon release is why solid solutions and
planning must be implemented when considering the integration of ex felons into society and
preparation for reentry must begin well before the scheduled release date in order to successfully
reintegrate an inmate into society and reduce the rate of recidivism. Many offenders will be released
from prison and yet approximately 60% will return for violating the law (Beard, Johnson, Kemp,
2003). An inmate that has an education equivalent to a

Essay on Social Polarisation
With reference to specific examples, critically discuss the contention that cities are becoming
increasingly polarised in the contemporary world.
Polarisation is a term that usually refers to extreme of two extreme situations . In this context, social
polarisation is examined in detail. Social polarisation is an expression associated with the segregation
within a society that may emerge from income inequality, real estate fluctuations, economic
displacements etc. and result in such differentiation that would consist of various social groups, from
high income to low income (Moulaert, F. et al. (2003)). This essay will outline the two contrasting

In addition, there was a decline in middle income, blue collar jobs of the manufacturing sector. It can
be argued that however, the growth of employment in the clerks and service workers and shop and
market sales workers (see table 1) contradicts the theory. This occupational group mainly consists of
middle income occupation and their growth made up for the loss of those in the middle income
manufacturing sector. It can be concluded that although Cape Town has seen a marginally polarizing
employment growth (Borel Saladin, Crankshaw, 2009; 658) in the past twenty years, it has not seen an
absolute decline in middle income employment and therefore does not agree with the social polarizing
thesis.

Sydney, Australia is the second case study this essay will discuss, many of the scholars who analysed
the social polarization thesis only looked at cities within the US or Europe, although helpful it can
limit empirical discussion (Baum, 1997; 1882). Therefore looking at a global city out of this zone that
also has strong economic links with Hong Kong and Singapore will allow the reader to understand the
contention of polarisation in the contemporary world. It can be argued that professionalization is

Structure, Sign And Play On The Discourse Of Human Sciences
Derrida: Structure, sign and play in the discourse of human sciences.
While understanding Derrida, many scholars consider early life of Derrida as a marginalized European
and being a Jew has special significance1. He later theorized that marginalization in terms of absence ,
a loaded term in Derrida s works which we will visit later in this chapter. It was a high time for
existentialism, phenomenology and structuralism represented many renowned thinkers like Husserl,
Sartre, Strauss, and others. While the concern of structural linguistics was to formulate scientific
understanding of language as structured expression/entity, others were skeptic about fundamental
presuppositions of neutral binaries, the virtuality of the center and who rejected subjective humanism
of existentialists.
Deconstruction is literary technique derived by Derrida to show that there are many unquestioned
metaphysical notions that we use in structured language, and arbitrary hierarchy is maintained
between various binaries. Speaking in terms of linguistics, relation between signified and signifier is
anything but neutral, as it privileges one constituent of binary over other. For example, privilege of
speaking voice over written text, privilege of presence over absence, privilege of masculine over
feminine and so on. Thus for Derrida logocentrism is invariably present in the history of western
metaphysics which somewhere privileges author over his text.
Derrida s method is to look for

grimaced. Is there a threat against earth? Jim knew what standards you held on your vacation day, and

English Language By Chinua Ngugi
II: In this section Ngugi speaks about how the English an imperialistic language that belongs to
Europe dominates the local languages in the post colonial Africa. He asks to the reader that how did
people become to be so feeble towards the claims of their languages on them and so aggressive in
their claims on other languages, particularly the languages of their colonization. It is worth mentioning
the words spoken by Chinua Achebe, is it right that a man should abandon his mother language for
some one else s? It looks like a dreadful betrayal and produces a guilty feeling . Ngugi refers to the
1962 African writer s conference at Makerere University College in Kampala, Uganda: A Conference
of African Writers of English Expression. Excluding writers who wrote in African tongues, it
proceeded to discuss questions of what African literature is or could be, while accepting that it must be
in English. This cruel poisonous paradox is summed up this way: The bullet was the means of the
physical subjugation and language was the means of the spiritual subjugation (9). ... Show more

Paul s Discourse Against Slavery
Interestingly, Paul does not deliver a discourse against slavery but instead teaches on how we are to
relate to each other in Christ. Eventually, Paul was prepared to write to Philemon to explain what they
needed to do to have an exceptional relationship with Onesimus. However, Onesimus conversion had
made a genuine difference in his life that made him consider himself and others differently, including
Philemon. Paul knew by having a different concept of slavery and how to treat others who are in
authority is truly a blessing to for Onesimus and Philemon to know. As a result, all such authority
begins with God, for there is no authority except from God (Rom 13:1).

partners from any kind of personal bankruptcy unless the partners were responsible personally in any
kind of faulty opinion in terms of audit. Nonetheless, firms in the UK have continued to choose

The Dangers Of Corporal Punishment In Schools
If you re over 30 and ever got in trouble in school, you ll be familiar with corporal punishment.
Corporal punishment is a way of dealing with a crime or misdemeanor and it has been around for so
many years even centuries. Back then it was only used in prisons or correctional facilities but in the
late 1800s schools started using it as a way of making the students behave. Not only did it make the
schools reputation look decent but also made the grades a whole lot better than they are now. With this
claim I believe that corporal punishment be reintroduced (Reason 1) This has been occurring in
schools for years, ever since the 2000s, and its only gradually been getting worse. Back then we never
had this problem because of corporal punishment. Having the paddle there indicates the instinct in the
human mind to compel to the rules instead of getting hurt were as without the paddle they always
think that if they get in trouble nothing will happen. This instinct is designed to limit the amount of
pain we will receive so immediately after seeing the paddle it will trigger this response and make them
behave, to take the path of least resistance. It fixes school disciplinary problems and has proven that
the school will have better grades because one of the most times people got paddled was because of
not doing homework. Homework although tedious and hated by most children, the children that do
their homework show better understanding of the topic and are more likely to

Pros And Cons Of Birth Control
traception
Contraception is used to prevent pregnancy. The use of condoms can prevent pregnancy and protect
against STDs. Other protective barriers, such as dental dams, are recommended for oral sex and
analingus. Some sexually transmitted infections, such as genital warts and genital herpes can be
spread through skin to skin contact, not just penetrative sex. For those in committed relationships who
seek only to prevent pregnancy, there are many forms of birth control, and a healthcare provider can
discuss options and detail what is the ideal form of birth control. There is no single universal method
that works for everyone.
According to Michael McGee, MEd, a certified sexual health educator and adjunct professor at
Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey, sexual health is intimately related to
reproduction. Birth control choices to prevent pregnancy and the steps couples need to take to have a
healthy pregnancy are all aspects of sexual health.
Some factors a qualified physician will take into consideration when discussing options are:
Patient s sexual activity
Previously used birth control methods
Existing medical conditions
Lifestyle and likelihood of taking a daily pill on schedule
Use of tobacco products
Existence of menstrual migraines
Menstrual flow
Personal and family history of blood clots
Existence or history of breast cancer

A Brief Biography of Nathaniel Hawthorne
Nathaniel Hawthorne once said, I do not want to be a doctor and live by men s diseases, nor minister
to live by their sins, nor a lawyer and live by men s quarrels. So, I don t see that there is anything left
for me but to be an author (Nathaniel). This statement describes Hawthorne s personality and life in a
way that no other quote could. Nathaniel Hawthorne was an Anti Transcendentalist writer meaning
that he had a negative view of all humans. The Anti Transcendentalist movement was a pessimistic
branch of Romanticism and it began in mid 1800s and lasted until late 1800s. Nathaniel Hawthorne
was influenced greatly by his childhood, which is what caused him to be an anti transcendentalist, yet
in his novel The Scarlet Letter there was a bridge created between anti transcendentalism and utopian
transcendentalism.
The devastation of losing a parent at a young age can cause long term effects that last into adulthood.
When Hawthorne was four, his father died of yellow fever and this caused problems for him. His
mother became very overly protective and pushed him toward isolated pursuits (Biography). His
childhood left him shy and bookish, which molded his life as a writer. He also was not a very social
person, had few close friends, and had little engagement with others (Biography). If Hawthorne s life
had not started the way it did, he would have never been the person he was as an adult, and society
would have never been able to see the writing he could create. Nathaniel

Why Is Mommy Important To Me
Jeremy In the song Jeremy we read, listened, and watched a song about a kid. The 3 tones were all

more depressing then the other 3. So I will explain to you why these are now. The first tone is us
reading the lyrics simply. The lyrics tone was sad because when you read the song, some of it says I
remember picking on the boy and Daddy didn t give attention to the fact mommy didn t care. These
are only 2 of the several song quotes that make it sad. As in 2 problems are the parents are neglecting
their child, and he is being bullied by reading it. So the mood is sad for this. Now the second one is
listening to the music, when the singer says the lyrics he makes it sound exciting. As he is saying it
with excitement, making us all excited as well. So this Defeats the point of the sad tone in reading it.

Luhrmann captures the essence of the 1920 s phenomenally, while adding current day characteristics. The Great Gatsby shows brilliance and self indulgence and the movie truly illustrated those concepts. Unlike the original story, Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) tells the story of his adventures with Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio), from a mental asylum to his psychiatrist. Gatsby was a very ambitious yet mysterious character and DiCaprio could not have been more perfect for this role. DiCaprio was cast as the lead in Romeo and Juliet by Luhrmann years before, as he always makes characters he plays dazzle, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Importance Of Art In Schools Bob Bryant the Executive Director of Fine Arts for Katy ISD in 2000, emphasises the importance of utilizing art in schools curriculums: The arts are what make us most human, most complete as people. The arts cannot be learned through occasional or random exposure any more than math or science can (Bryant). Art is a way of expression and leads to acquiring a deeper understanding of the details , presented to us, in life. Why is that on the first day of preschool, teachers teach through the help of art? The foundation of our learning is through art. Creativity is the most exuberant and imaginative as our early stages of life. Creativity can neither be contained nor limited. Art is an outlet used for people to show who they are. Not only does art the pivot of one s individualism, but it is also kindred with intercultural relationships. Traditional pieces of art are passed down from each generation to carry out a group s heritage. Since art is an essential, integral part in a student s academic learning, schools should make art classes mandatory. Students should be engaged and willing to learn more about what they are learning. With art there is no need for you to be good at it. Art is depended only on the artist himself/herself. If students view art as just another subject then they are missing the academic value art gives. Students have said that art should be viewed as an extracurricular activity or exploratory classes. Art goes beyond having artistic value and surpasses the idea of one s own limits. Some people see art as an elective class, or a hobby class. According to Allyono17, one of the authors of Teen Ink magazine, explains the importance of the beneficiaries of the present by saying, First, art and music classes don t seem to be used on an everyday basis. There is no point in learning and spending time on a class that won t be needed in your future (Allyono17). Every class that a student takes, will benefit them in some way or the other. When walking into a school, the first thing people will see are artwork in the halls. When going to church, people see artwork of who and what they believe in. Art is everywhere, and if students are required to take art classes then they will be able to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Essay on Federalist 10 Summary Summary Analysis of Federalist #10 Summary: Madison begins perhaps the most famous of the Federalist papers by stating that one of the strongest arguments in favor of the Constitution is the fact that it establishes a government capable of controlling the violence and damage caused by factions. Madison defines that factions are groups of people who gather together to protect and promote their special economic interests and political opinions. Although these factions are at odds with each other, they frequently work against the public interests, and infringe upon the rights of others. Both supporters and opponents of the plan are concerned with the political instability produced by rival factions. The state governments have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To Madison, there are only two ways to control a faction: one, to remove its causes and the second to control its effects. The first is impossible. There are only two ways to remove the causes of a faction: destroy liberty or give every citizen the same opinions, passions, and interests. Destroying liberty is a cure worse then the disease itself, and the second is impracticable. The causes of factions are thus part of the nature of man and we must deal with their effects and accept their existence. The government created by the Constitution controls the damage caused by such factions. The framers established a representative form of government, a government in which the many elect the few who govern. Pure or direct democracies (countries in which all the citizens participate directly in making the laws) cannot possibly control factious conflicts. This is because the strongest and largest faction dominates, and there is no way to protect weak factions against the actions of an obnoxious individual or a strong majority. Direct democracies cannot effectively protect personal and property rights and have always been characterized by conflict. If the new plan of government is adopted, Madison hopes that the men elected to office will be wise and good men the best of America. Theoretically, those who govern should be the least likely to sacrifice the public good to temporary condition, but the opposite might ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Borderline personality disorder is one that affects a person so radically that the person may consider suicide or even commit it. They are not very reliable or dependable and have problems keeping jobs, friends and even paying bills. People with this disorder are usually impulsive and do not always make thoughtful decisions . There are many symptoms that can be expressed in a person who has borderline personality disorder. Purpose of Children s Liturature Essay PuMarshal Thomas Bobechko BOBECHKO 1 ENG 4U1 Mr. Danckert Monday, October 8th, 2012 Creating a Selfless Society In the children s novels, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe written by C.S. Lewis, Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone by J.K. Rowling, and Charlotte s Web by E.B. White we see that the purpose of children s literature to teach selflessness. These companions face many challenges from trying to win the house cup, to saving the Philosopher s Stone. On this journey, the three children come across a chess game to which one of them has to sacrifice their life to allow the others to progress in trying to save the stone. When Ron and Harry get on top of the giant chess piece and play the magic game, Ron contemplates their final move. He looks to the white queen chess piece and says softly, it s the only way... I ve got to be taken. NO! Harry and Hermione [shout]. That s chess! [snaps] Ron, You ve got to make some sacrifices! (Rowling, 283). Ron thinks that in order for his friends to move on, he must willingly sacrifice his life out of loyalty to his friends. This shows the small group s growing sense of loyalty for one another through all the challenges each of them face together. Hermione stays behind with Ron to take care of him, while Harry continues on to save the stone with a new cause because of that sacrifice. Again we see that, when selflessness is shared with people, loyalty will soon follow. This shows that when a person is selfless their acts will be reciprocated and this will lead to helping one another in a time of need. Only after a person has established loyalty, a sense of responsibility towards one another becomes natural. The author, C.S. Lewis, demonstrates this in The Lion, BOBECHKO 3 The Witch and the Wardrobe after Aslan comes back from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Two days went by and nothing else had happened. Okonkwo and some men went to the commissioner to discuss the situation, and instead, they were handcuffed and put into prison. This puts even more fury and hate into Okonkwo and he thirsts for blood. He wanted to kill every white man in his village, because they have taken everything away from him. Once they paid the fine and were released from the prison, Okonkwo s fury leads him to behead an innocent villager, and he then headed home, still filled with hate. Interpersonal Conflict Paper 1) Interpersonal conflict can be defined as the interaction of interdependent people who perceive incompatible goals and interference from each other in achieving those goals . Reese and her mother have an interdependent relationship, meaning that the people involved in conflict rely on or need each other in some way and have an actual relationship with each other. They are also interacting, which means that conflicts are created and sustained through verbal and nonverbal communication. Even though Reese and her mother are not as close as other members of the family, they still would have to communicate in some way to realize that Reese s goal to travel over two hours away for college is farther than her mother is comfortable with. These incompatible goals of distance become the root cause of their interpersonal conflict. 2) This scenario between Reese and her mother would be considered content conflict within interpersonal conflict. Content conflict is also considered substantive conflict and is defined as a conflict that revolves around a specific issue. • 16. In Our Time by Ernest Hemingway In Our Time, written by Ernest Hemingway, is a collection of short stories that were published in 1925 and defined Hemingway s writing style from there on. As a symbolic image of Hemingway himself, Nick Adams is faced with troubling relationships that ultimately define who he is. Life experiences from young to old define show how Nick lives his love before, during, and after World War One. These experiences strengthen his relationships, maturity, and masculinity. One of the most important themes, masculinity, is portrayed directly at the start of Hemingway s short story collection starting with Indian Camp. In the first short story the reader sees the novels protagonist, Nick Adams , response to violence and suffering inflicted on others will ultimately define his own sense of masculinity (Frazier). Witnessing this dramatic event at such a young age will define Nick s life and change the way he views certain aspects of life just from watching a woman give birth. Nick s maturity and responsibility are also themes that are greatly exploited just as well as his masculinity. The reader first learns about Nick and his relationships with his girlfriend Marjorie in the short story titled The End of Something. The title of this section symbolically relates to what is happening because Nick and Marjorie get into an argument which seems to end their relationship. It was a cold night in the middle of October, I was leaving the hospital with my father that night, asking about my new brother and hoping he would be able to come home soon. I recall vividly looking up and wanting to ask the gods and the stars themselves to look after my new little brother and make him well enough, and noticed this beautiful, bright group of stars and asking my father what it was.he said it was Orion,a great hunter and if i wanted to know more about it he could help ... Economics of the Financial System Show how transactions in derivatives can be used to either hedge risk or to open speculative positions. Derivatives have become popular in response to the increasing volatility and complexity of financial markets. • 20. Analysis Of Gaius Valerius Catullus s The Iliad The one main difference between the gods and mortals is that mortals can die, making it difficult for a man to become truly god like. Homer makes no mention of the afterlife in The Iliad, meaning that the only true way for a mortal to live on is through the remembrance of their life on earth. Many strive for immortality, but to achieve it, one must obtain Kleos, the glory a man receives in war. If a hero like Achilles or Hector were mentioned to someone today, chances are, the person would know who the hero was. This is how immortality through Kleos works. When the poet Gaius Valerius Catullus describes how he wishes for his poems to last for many generations, even when he has long since passed, he is explaining that, through his poetry, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because of the promise of Kleos, a warrior is willing to risk everything he has, including his life, to fight in battle. When Hector makes a visit to Troy, he visits his wife and son. His wife tries to convince him to stay behind and not return, because if he does, he will die in battle. Hector knows this, but says he is willing to risk his life to obtain the glory he and the rest of Troy deserve (Fagles, 6. 510 555.) There are 255 named deaths in The Iliad (Laura Jenkinson.) This statistic shows the extremity of the fighting. Achilles, Diomedes, Hector, and Patroclus are the top killers in the epic. These are, furthermore, four of the more commonly recognized names when someone mentions The Iliad today. This correlates with the idea that those who kill more people are more likely to achieve Kleos and be remembered. As a quantitative way of tracking how many people a warrior killed on the battle field, he can take the armor from the man he killed and use it as a trophy. After Patroclus death, an argument arises about who gets his armor, which is actually Achilles armor. Euphorbus claimed he was the one who actually killed Patroclus so he deserves the prize, but Menelaus would not have it. Menelaus killed Euphorbus, which resulted in all the Trojans being scared of facing Menelaus to fight for the armor, with the exception of Hector. Hector succeeded in getting Patroclus armor, by showing fearlessness and willingness to fight for it (Fagles, 17.1 140). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Substance abuse and other mental health problems limit employability because it limits the job readiness that is required for employment (Holzer, Raphael Stoll, 2003). Another issue that is faced when inmates are released into society is that any skills that they did have prior to conviction has diminished greatly and they face lower pay due to their diminished or lack of skills, and the attitudes that have been developed during their time in prison deeply affects their attitude during their search for employment. Offenders also face another barrier when searching for employment. Many businesses can be held legally liable for any criminal action that their employees may cause (Holzer, Raphael Stoll, 2003). These barriers that offenders face upon release is why solid solutions and planning must be implemented when considering the integration of ex felons into society and preparation for reentry must begin well before the scheduled release date in order to successfully reintegrate an inmate into society and reduce the rate of recidivism. While understanding Derrida, many scholars consider early life of Derrida as a marginalized European and being a Jew has special significance1. He later theorized that marginalization in terms of absence , a loaded term in Derrida s works which we will visit later in this chapter. It was a high time for existentialism, phenomenology and structuralism represented many renowned thinkers like Husserl, Sartre, Strauss, and others. While the concern of structural linguistics was to formulate scientific understanding of language as structured expression/entity, others were skeptic about fundamental presuppositions of neutral binaries, the virtuality of the center and who rejected subjective humanism of existentialists. Deconstruction is literary technique derived by Derrida to show that there are many unquestioned metaphysical notions that we use in structured language, and arbitrary hierarchy is maintained between various binaries. Speaking in terms of linguistics, relation between signified and signifier is anything but neutral, as it privileges one constituent of binary over other. For example, privilege of speaking voice over written text, privilege of presence over absence, privilege of masculine over feminine and so on. It looks like a dreadful betrayal and produces a guilty feeling . Excluding writers who wrote in African tongues, it proceeded to discuss questions of what African literature is or could be, while accepting that it must be in English. Corporal punishment is a way of dealing with a crime or misdemeanor and it has been around for so many years even centuries. Back then it was only used in prisons or correctional facilities but in the late 1800s schools started using it as a way of making the students behave. Not only did it make the schools reputation look decent but also made the grades a whole lot better than they are now. With this claim I believe that corporal punishment be reintroduced (Reason 1) This has been occurring in schools for years, ever since the 2000s, and its only gradually been getting worse. Back then we never had this problem because of corporal punishment. Having the paddle there indicates the instinct in the human mind to compel to the rules instead of getting hurt were as without the paddle they always think that if they get in trouble nothing will happen. This instinct is designed to limit the amount of pain we will receive so immediately after seeing the paddle it will trigger this response and make them behave, to take the path of least resistance. Other protective barriers, such as dental dams, are recommended for oral sex and analingus. Some sexually transmitted infections, such as genital warts and genital herpes can be spread through skin to skin contact, not just penetrative sex. For those in committed relationships who seek only to prevent pregnancy, there are many forms of birth control, and a healthcare provider can discuss options and detail what is the ideal form of birth control. There is no single universal method that works for everyone. According to Michael McGee, MEd, a certified sexual health educator and adjunct professor at Montclair State University in Montclair, New Jersey, sexual health is intimately related to reproduction. • 36. A Brief Biography of Nathaniel Hawthorne Nathaniel Hawthorne once said, I do not want to be a doctor and live by men s diseases, nor minister to live by their sins, nor a lawyer and live by men s quarrels. So, I don t see that there is anything left for me but to be an author (Nathaniel). This statement describes Hawthorne s personality and life in a way that no other quote could. Nathaniel Hawthorne was an Anti Transcendentalist writer meaning that he had a negative view of all humans. The Anti Transcendentalist movement was a pessimistic branch of Romanticism and it began in mid 1800s and lasted until late 1800s. Nathaniel Hawthorne was influenced greatly by his childhood, which is what caused him to be an anti transcendentalist, yet in his novel The Scarlet Letter there was a bridge created between anti transcendentalism and utopian transcendentalism. The devastation of losing a parent at a young age can cause long term effects that last into adulthood. When Hawthorne was four, his father died of yellow fever and this caused problems for him. His mother became very overly protective and pushed him toward isolated pursuits (Biography). His childhood left him shy and bookish, which molded his life as a writer. He also was not a very social person, had few close friends, and had little engagement with others (Biography). If Hawthorne s life had not started the way it did, he would have never been the person he was as an adult, and society would have never been able to see the writing he could create. Nathaniel ... The other one is exciting. The last one is even more depressing then the other 3. So I will explain to you why these are now. The first tone is us reading the lyrics simply. The lyrics tone was sad because when you read the song, some of it says I remember picking on the boy and Daddy didn t give attention to the fact mommy didn t care. These are only 2 of the several song quotes that make it sad. As in 2 problems are the parents are neglecting their child, and he is being bullied by reading it. So the mood is sad for this.
