A Short Note On The Air Leak Syndrome
Introduction
Air Leak Syndrome is a term used to describe a collection of similar pathologies related to air being in
pulmonary, pleural and interstitial spaces. The most common cause of air leak syndrome in neonates is
inadequate mechanical ventilation of their delicate lungs. The incidence of air leaks in newborns is
inversely related to the birth weight of the infants, especially in infants suffering from respiratory
distress syndrome and meconium aspiration (Walsh, 2015). Chest tube drainage and/or needle
aspiration are necessary in managing pneumopericardium with cardiac tamponade or tension
pneumothorax.
To prevent air leak syndrome, gentle ventilation with low pressure, low tidal volume, low inspiratory
time, high rate, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For pneumothorax, the incidence from 1990 2002 was 13% in babies weighing 1000 grams are at high
risk the first day or two after birth. Babies with pulmonary hypoplasia, meconium aspiration
syndrome, and respiratory distress syndrome are also at higher risk. Use of NIV/CPAP also increases
the risk. An article in the Pediatrics journal cited three cases where children of various ages developed
various air leaks from the use of high flow nasal cannula (HHNC) therapy. The author cited the urgent
need to conduct more studies on HHNC and that it should not be used for providing positive
distending pressure. Set flows should not exceed the patient s minute ventilation (Hegde, 2013).
Prevention
Sadly, it should be understood that most of pulmonary air leaks are iatrogenic. Healthcare workers
should not be overly aggressive when doing CPR and using the bag mask. Infants lungs are fragile and
cannot handle being over ventilated. When using mechanical ventilation, use low pressures low tidal
volumes and high respiratory rates. Risk of pneumothorax and pulmonary interstitial emphysema can
be reduced by using surfactant.
Pathophysiology
Air leaks are a result of overdistention of the lungs and can cause uneven alveolar ventilation and air
trapping. Increased pressures can rupture alveoli or other tissues, allowing air to escape into the
interstitial spaces. This air can then travel through perivascular adventitia, causing pulmonary
interstitial emphysema. If the air

Harvey s The Beautiful Bones And Profile A Serial Killer
In the sick minds of those who murder again and again, rape, pain and death are twisted into a passion
to kill. Otherwise known as an ordinary individual, serial killers turn to violence and death in search of
power over others, and to explore their fatal addiction to their immoral thrills. Even though these
horrific crimes of a serial killer repulse most individuals, there is still a strange fascination when it
comes to these deadly killers. I chose the movie The Lovely Bones to profile a serial killer. In the
movie we do not really get a background of Mr. Harvey childhood, but in the book we find out that
Mr. Harvey s mother was a desperate woman who taught Harvey to shoplift and even rob victims. His
father has an abusive personality ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Susie begins to walk home when she runs into Mr. Harvey. Mr. Harvey begins telling her that he has
built something and would like her opinion of this. She denies at first, he does not try and force her,

will show the other kids in the neighborhood what he had built and that they would be excited. Susie
then agrees to go with Mr. Harvey, he shows her the clubhouse that he built for the neighborhood kids

Sciencedaily Argument Analysis
Dogs were first thought to have a simple way of processing information and commands given by
humans. This simple process was done through the reward system of the brain; The dog hears or sees
the instruction, follows through, and is rewarded with a treat, however, now it has been proposed
through a series of experiments that there is a much more complicated pattern canines brains follow to
interpret the gestures and faces of their owners and others around them. This finding shows that dogs
have the ability to process and recognize faces of people and other canines through what they now call
the dog face area or DFA in the brain where the general area of the temporal lobe is. This disproves
the previous thought that dogs followed commands due ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Huffington Post article quotes the university s researchers only once. Dogs are able to see faces in
the images and they differentiate familiar and strange faces from each other, say the researchers. These
results indicate that dogs might have facial recognition skills, similar to humans (Becker, 2015). The
article does not provide the names of the researchers, past achievements, or their background
information that would provide a more reliable source. The commentary is also only a summarization
of the articles previous writing instead of more information to encourage a better understanding of the
experiment or results. The ScienceDaily quotes more than one source and gives further insight to the
experiment and how it can affect the future. Dogs have been cohabitating with humans for longer than
any other animal, Dilks says. They are incredibly social, not just with other members of their pack, but
across species. Understanding more about canine cognition and perception may tell us more about
social cognition and perception in general (Dilks, 2015). The article also states earlier who the person
is that was quoted as a professor of psychology at Emory University and the first author of the dog
study that is done described in the article. This Quote comes from a credible source as well as
describing even further the importance of this finding

2 Personal Goals
Introduction I will be exploring and distinguishing two personal goals and two professional goals in
relation to developing a strong and resilient mind. We will find methods that would help achieve these
goals. We will be creating scenarios that for each personal goal established and what method used to
achieve that goal.
First personal goal is to pay more attention and ask questions if I do not hear correctly. I may seem bit
off in my own world to say the least but it is nothing of the sort. I do listen; however, I do not always
hear them due to my bad hearing from military service. I do not like annoying people by asking them
to repeat themselves, so I try to simply wing it when possible.

I must be on my game in relation to the details of the project. There is one additional artist who fails to
meet the standards in place in relation to file formats and I get anxious for we are on a timeline.
Instead of being easily overwhelmed and anxious, I step back and reassess the situation. I breath,
smile, and simply correct the issue before the passing deadline comes. By doing this, I come across
grounded, professional, and dealt the situation in a positive manner.
Second professional goal would be more mindful and understanding to the client when trying the
understand there needs. Being a retired graphic shop team leader, I had to deal directly with clients
and try to understand their needs. At times this was no easy task, for a client may not always know
what he/she may want. This can be truly confusing and even annoying.
Methods would be to practice mindfulness, be positive, and gradually offer ideas to him/her to help
the process be easier for both parties (Mercola, 2013). It seems to be easier for the client to deal with a
more laid back, positive, and more mindful representative, for he/she may not know much of anything
with my trade. This would be more welcoming for the client room for ideas which both parties can

Mental Deterioration In Macbeth
Macbeth s Mental Deterioration
Mental deterioration is when one s mind begins to over analyse, breakdown, and start to do things a
healthy brain would not normally do. Symptoms may include memory loss, apathy, anxiety, inhibition,
and mood changes. Power goes to Macbeth s head, causing him to lose his sense of empathy, and
eventually his mentality. In Act I, scene 2 Macbeth is described as brave, relentless and savage. At first
glance, he appears to be a brave soldier. He is named Thane of Cawdor as a reward for his bravery .
After this, the witches predict wealth, estate, and that someday he will become king. This information
results in Macbeth having thoughts of murder (Act 1, scene 3 lns 130 142). After Duncan announced
that his son, Malcolm, will be heir to the throne Macbeth states that there is one more man in his way
of becoming king. In the article When Power Goes To Your Head, It May Shut Out Your Heart , a
neuroscientist named Sukhvinder Obhi says that power fundamentally changes how the brain operates.
The mirror system neurons become active when you or someone else squeezes a ball. Similar to when
you pick up a cup of coffee, hit a baseball, or fly a kite. Humans learn by observing and examining
other humans. Mirror neurons help humans understand how to imitate the learned trait. It somewhat
places you in another person s head. Feeling power causes a boost in the mirror system. When given
power, people have a harder time getting inside someone s head.

Comparing Johnson And Voltaire s Rasselas Prince Of Abissina
Authors Johnson and Voltaire were both novelists of the eighteenth century who took the surreal world
of utopia and used it to compare the world around them. Published within months of each other, both
novels are noticeably similar with their biblical references and final critiques of modern Europe.
Through these similarities two different stories unfold, both which involve the wonderous world of
utopia. These imagined places of perfection begin to ask the question of what a person needs to be
completely happy, and it is when both protagonists decide to leave these havens that the authors begin
to show their critiques of man and the society they live in.
While both authors approach their texts differently, one can see their comparable critiques of the
problems within society through the utopias they create and the unanimous conclusion for the
imperative need for every individual to discover their own happiness by having both of their
characters choosing to leave it.
Johnson and Voltaire both set their stories in the fantastical world of a utopia, but approach them very
differently. Through Rasselas, Prince of Abissina, Johnson uses realistic characters and stays level
with them throughout the text; describing where they are, what they are doing, and even providing
compassion towards them, thus encouraging the reader to identify with them. And it is through this
self identification from the reader that Johnson was able to make a more obvious commentary on
society through his

Because I could not stop for Death, and I heard a Fly buzz when I died, both written by Emily

The Legend Of The Chosen
Legend of the Chosen
Much of the Earth s landscape had been changed by The Great Wars, the war that caused the
holocaust, but some landmarks still remain. And these wars rearranged the planet s geographical
attributes and wiped out most human life on Earth. Each land was renamed after the compass point it
faced; the Northland, the Southland, the Eastland, and the Westland. Towers, buildings, homes,
Helicopters, towers, and buildings are in ruins, but have been in this state for quite some time, with
layers of moss and green vines covering them. Most advanced technologies had also been lost, but
magic had been discovered. During this time era, mankind mutated into several distinct races;
Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes, and Trolls.
The Elves, extremely long lived and possessing great magic, created the Elfstonts. As a necessary
balance to the light, darkness was also created in the beginning of time; from this darkness, the
Demons were born. After years of battle between the light and the dark, the Elves summoned their
greatest magic and created the Forbidding, a spell that imprisoned the Demons beyond the confines of
the world. They also created the Ellcrys, a beautiful silver elvish tree with crimson leaves to maintain
the Forbidding. Unfortunately, this drained nearly all the strength of the Elves, leaving them with very
little magic.
In time, Elves came to resemble more and more of the human race that had recently evolved, both in
strength and longevity. Afraid of the

Diction In Jabberwocky
Lewis Carroll was among the many authors who left behind many memorable pieces of artwork. He
was known for his pseudonym and for the way he connected with children. One of Carroll s most
famous published work was Alice Adventures in Wonderland. Along, with this recognizable novel by
Carroll there was also, Through the Looking Glass, The Hunting of the Snark, and A Tangled Tale.
These stories overlooked some of the fantastic poetry he created, such as the one he wrote in 1871,
which was titled Jabberwocky.
The purpose of this essay is to inspect Lewis Carroll s poem, Jabberwocky, therefore having a deeper
understanding of its meaning and style. The idea is to find the lifting rhythm behind this soul grabbing
poetry. The methodology of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While his famous novel is more in depth, with much more expanding action, it is equivalent to his
poem, Jabberwocky. To begin with, in Through the Looking Glass, is more of a whimsical type of
literature. While Jabberwocky, is primarily set to focus on the death of the vicious monster, Through
the Looking Glass, is focused on realizing the difference between dreams and reality. Not you!
Tweedledee retorted contemptuously. You d be nowhere. Why, you re only a sort of thing in his dream
(Tweedledee, 168). Here we have Alice trying to figure out whether she is real or just a pure figure
within someone s dream. If she is within a dream, then she knows her actions are being controlled by
dreamer. Just like in the poem, Carroll emphasizes on an idea, by adding it twice within a text. There s
no use trying, she said one can t believe impossible things (White Queen, 177). This quote is ironic
because in both the poem and novel, impossible things are occurring from side to side. Lewis Carroll
is known for making the impossible seem possible. It was a nice touch adding this quote to the novel
because this quote shows that sometimes it is okay to believe what the mind cannot comprehend. In
both works of Lewis Carroll, it is highly encouraged to let the imagination run lose and believe in the
impossible. In the novel we get Alice, who is a pure reflection

Essay On Determinism Vs Free Will
The Determined Will of Man Freedom and power are luxuries all humans desire. Since the dawn of
humanity, man struggled and persevered through nature s unforgiving vicissitudes, but emerged
fervently from them with the stern intent of actuating his ever evolving desires. The debate between
determinism and free will has raged since antiquity, and the main difference between them lies in an
element of control; the one outer and the other inner, respectively. Determinism is the philosophical
idea that every event or state of affairs, including every human decision and action, is the inevitable
and necessary consequence of antecedent states of affairs. Free will, on the other hand, is the power of
acting without the constraint of necessity or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Human desire can only be expressed effectively through the attainment of power, provided it is
desired; therefore, human action is determined by desire. Altruism is acting with an unselfish regard
for others. Cooperative behavior enabled our ancestors to further enhance their survivability under
harsh conditions, which clarifies the notion that when we make the effort to give without expectations
of reciprocity, we feel fulfilled and energized. The previous sentence hinges upon the illicit negative
fallacy, which is an argument whose conclusion of a standard form is affirmative, but at least one of
the premises is negative. If the effort to give without expectations of reciprocity is true, then the
expected feeling of fulfilment and energy mustn t be felt in order for the statement to be considered
cogent; however, it was maintained that it was felt; therefore, the statement is fallacious. Thence, from
the example provided, it can be concluded that altruism is nonexistent. Altruism and free will are
mutually inclusive; if altruism is nonexistent, then free will is also nonexistent. Actions which spring
from internal control are guided by free will; those which spring from external forces are guided by
determinism. Desire is a constituent part of human nature, which necessitates actions whose ends are
directed toward benefiting the director. Since our actions are determined by our desires in all cases,
free will cannot possibly exist, because if it were to exist, our actions could be directed toward ends

How Does Paton Use Metaphors In Cry The Beloved Country
In 1948, apartheid was enacted by the all white national party in South Africa. The purpose was to
separate whites from non whites, and to decrease the power and success of non whites. In the 20th
century novel Cry, The Beloved Country by Alan Paton, he uses metaphors to emphasize how the
suffering of tribal people have both positive and negative consequences on their moral character. Their
development of morality can create or mend a division in society. Possessing a strong moral
foundation provides the ability to face personal challenges. Cry, The Beloved Country chronicles the
emotional journey Stephen Kumalo takes to cope with the sin he faces, internally and externally. The
trial of his son, Absalom, for the murder of Arthur Jarvis, poses as a spiritual trial for Kumalo himself.

He goes so far as to abandon his people. Absalom represents Kumalo s fear of misguidance and

The Death Of Stalin Essay
Not all the filmmakers have the capacity of gathering sensitive political and historical material and
turn it into a pleasurable satirical parody that stirs our intellect in a totally different way. With just a
couple of feature length films, Italian born Armando Iannucci is surely one of them, asserting his gift
with comedies such as In The Loop , and now The Death of Stalin , a tongue in cheek caricature of the
post Stalinism struggle for power. Its conception was based on the French graphic novel of the same
name. In 1953, the paranoia related to Josef Stalin s dark list consumes the nerves of common
civilians, red army soldiers, and high ranked politicians in Moscow. There are numerous arrests,
tortures, and deaths, which become more and more exaggerated as they kept being ordered ... Show

How Diversity Has Changed My Life
I always marveled at how Joshua s Yakama managed to stay on. Sweat dripping and curls bouncing
with each exercise, Joshua listened for my instruction. I had to be very articulate and an extremely
good demonstrator when correcting Joshua with his exercises. A practicing Hasidic Jew, Joshua was
not allowed to touch or be touched by a female. Touch for Gary, however, was crucial. Legally blind
from the age of 6, Gary relied on his sense of touch, as well as my physical contact guiding him
through the proper motions of his exercise program. Qing Yuan barely needed any guidance through
her exercise program. Despite the significant language barrier that existed between her and everyone
at the clinic, she had a doting son with her who would translate between Chinese and English.
However, we later found out that her son would intentionally misinterpret certain medical information
to his mother, that was thought in Chinese culture to bring shame to her. ... Show more content on

Abstract
Purpose This study aims to explore the potential dimensions of service quality, and examine the
relationship among service quality, food quality, perceived value, customer satisfaction and behavioral
intentions in fast food restaurants (FFRs). Design/methodology/approach The construct reliability and
validity was assessed using exploratory factor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Specifically, another potential dimension, recovery, is incorporated into the SERVPERF instrument.
After establishing sufficient reliability and validity of this instrument, we proceed with the second
objective to examine the relationship among service quality, food quality, perceived value, customer
satisfaction, and behavioral intentions. The organization of this paper includes another five sections.
The theoretical foundation of perceived service quality and its dimensions are reviewed in the next
section, followed by the research methodology including the development of the instrument. Then, the
data analysis and findings of this study are presented, followed by the conclusions and managerial
implications. The paper concludes with a section on the limitations of this work and potential future
research. 2. Theoretical foundation The importance of service quality is substantially addressed in the
fast food management literature. Superior service leads to satisfied and loyal customers whose
continued patronage is essential to the success of FFRs. Conversely, poor service quality increases
customer dissatisfaction and the likelihood that customers dine at a competitor s FFR and/or become
an active champion in persuading others to go elsewhere (Gilbert et al., 2004). Hence, it is crucial for
service managers to understand how customers perceive the service they provide, and what
components might determine

Arm Wrestling With My Father By Brad Manner
The love this father has for his son is unique and unequivocally expressed, as one will discover in this
compassionate and heartwarming short essay Arm Wrestling with My Father, written by Brad Manner.
Brad Manner wrote this persuasive essay for his freshman composition course, where he shared his
unique relationship with his father, as the two bonded through ritualistic father son competitive arm
wrestling. His father s arm symbolizes the strength and love he has for his son. However, as the story
progresses into Manner s college years, the symbolical power and strength of his father begins to fade
as his father s unwavering strength weakens with the inevitable and unforgiving progression of ageing.
During an arm wrestling competition, for the first time Manner surprisingly takes his father s ... Show

Viewing the arm as he always had, strong and fast, Manner was prepared to lose. Manner realized that
this time was vastly different from all other arm wrestling matches. All aspiration to win had passed,
leaving Manner feeling empathetic towards his father. Manner compared this particular experience
arm wrestling with his father to that of a kid hooking the trophy fish, the old fish that Lake Ouachita
holds, but you can never catch, and when you finally think you ve got him, you want to let him go, cut
the line, keep the legend alive (Manner 170). Manner realized that the roles between he and his father
were beginning to change. His father s arms were once a symbol of his father s strength, love, and
security. Manner himself said, Whenever I am near him I am unafraid, knowing his arms are ready to
catch me and keep me safe , (170). Manner would prefer that this inevitable change does not occur,
and questioned if he could physically carry his father, as his father once did for him when he was ill

Community Emergency Response Team ( Cert )
Introduction
When a disaster has taken place, first responders who provide fire and medical services will not be
equipped to meet the demands for many services. Several issues such as the number of victims,
communication failures and road blockages will stop people from accessing emergency services they
have come to expect at a moment s notice through 911 emergency services. Individuals will have to
rely on others for help in order to meet their immediate lifesaving and life sustaining needs. If access
is blocked or the agency s capacity is exceeded, it may be hours or days before trained help arrives.
There is a four phase model that organizes the events of emergency managers. This model is known as
the life cycle which includes dour ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the text, disasters are more than common emergencies such as those of traffic accidents,
personal injuries, or house fires general in communities (Disaster Recovery; 19). Other events can
result in a disaster requiring this Disaster Recovery Plan to be activated:
Fire
Flash flood
Pandemic
Power Outage
Theft
Terrorist Attack
Purpose
The purpose for this Disaster Recovery Plan is to primarily maintain all of the information and
material appropriate to the initiative s ability to survive a disaster, and to document all the phases that
the initiative will take if a disaster does occur. The first priority of the TC MACT if a disaster does
occur is to prevent the loss of lives. In order to move to the second step, we must guarantee all
personnel and other members on the premises are safe and secure. Once we can guarantee the safety
of individuals, the next objective of the TC MACT will be to ratify the steps outlined in this DRP to
bring all of the agencies, groups and departments back to business as usual as quickly as possible.
Although CERT programs vary in some ways, they all share the potential to offer significant benefits
to their sponsoring organizations, their communities and their citizens. As with any activity, there is
risk.

The Community Emergency Response Team notion was established and implemented by the Los
Angeles City Fire Department in 1985. The Whittier Narrows earthquake

Arguments Against The Drug War
Each day it seems America slips further away from the true meaning of individual liberty. I m sure you
have been raised to think that you grew up in the land of the free, but I question what the true
definition of freedom is. Now don t get me wrong, I agree that other countries may not have as much
freedom as we do in America but that s not my argument. The problem is that The land of the free isn t
so free anymore. It seems we go against the constitution more often every year. The drug war is a
great example of us loosening our grips on the constitution because of the precise fact that it takes
away individual liberty. Using drugs is most certainly not anything I would advise, but if it was my
choice to make for you then you wouldn t truly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They believe that law enforcement using their powers is making America more drug free. The facts
prove this to be incorrect though, because it is doing everything except for what it was created to do.
Since the day that the drug war began drug use has expanded steadily, which is the complete opposite
of its purpose. What people fail to realize is that others will use drugs regardless of if it is legal or not.
During the 1920 s the alcohol prohibition brought similar outcomes as the drug war is. It s causing
violence, lawlessness, gangs, brutality and corruption. The reasoning for the violence was not that
selling or making alcohol was unsafe, but was ultimately caused by the brutal black market, which
sent profits through the roof. As Congressmen Ron Paul once stated The only beneficiaries are the
drug barons, smugglers and dealers who enjoy exorbitant profits, and those dark forces in government
who try to further suppress our freedoms under the excuse of fighting the war against drugs. Pablo
Escobar s son stated that the United States Government used to work with Pablo. They worked with
him by smuggling more drugs into America and buying or selling drugs to and from Pablo himself.
That is just one man s word but there have been multiple times when the CIA has been called out in
making or selling cocaine. If the drug war were working there wouldn t be a large amount of people
using drugs and there wouldn t be people committing crimes to get the drugs, because if it were
working then the country would be drug free. I iterate that people still use drugs and the drug war has
done nothing but create violence, send people to jail and ruin opportunities for the person. According
to Mona Chalabi, in a study published in the British Medical Journal in 2013 found that despite efforts
to limit the supply of drugs, since the

Fishing in the North Atlantic Essay example
Fishing in the North Atlantic
Abstract Ocean fishes have been consumed by humans beyond their maximum sustainable yields for
years and the Atlantic cod and squid are two examples. Cods were primarily overfished to commercial
extinction. Other variables were also examined to see if they contribute to the declining population.
Water temperature was the natural phenomenon that may be responsible for poor egg hatching.
Human causes such as increased UV radiation from depleted ozone and bottom trawling disturbance
were considered. Trawling disturbance had the worst effect while the other factors were questionable.
As the cod vanished, the commercial fisher turned to squid to continue their way of life. Government

As a first world country, we consume a first class quantity of seafood as well. Overfishing of marine
resources jeopardizes not just our existence, but they are also vital in supporting various ecosystems.
In this paper, a number of research articles and other review articles were examined to compose a
picture of the overfishing crisis. The recent developments of Atlantic cod and squid are discussed in
more detail to provide a pattern that may lead to empty oceans in the future.
Accounting for fish in the ocean.
There are many methods to account for the number of fish in the ocean. However, there are many
uncertainties within any models of assessment. The reliability of instruments and the weather
condition during survey have great influence over the results (Smith and Gavaris, 1993). The
mathematics involved and the interpretation of the numbers is very difficult to comprehend and are
beyond the scope of this paper. However, in one 1997 journal article, C. J. Corkett criticized the
commonly used Graham Schaeder model of fish accounting. In general, he discredited the
interpretation of the data because of the instrumentalist approach used by many fishery managements.
Instrumentalism is defined in the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language as a
pragmatic theory that ideas are instruments that function as guides of action, their validity being
determined by the success of the action. The raw data that

2008.....
It was third grade gym class, and my group was out playing soccer on a rainy day, why? It was
drizzling, but it had rained hard the night before so the field was muddy. We did small laps around the
goal posts, stretched and then we picked teams.
It was all good until I was picked to be a goalkeeper. I hated being goalkeeper because being goal
keeper means one literally keeps the team s score, like you re the one responsible for your wins, if you
mess up the whole team is screwed. Compare it to an ancient war and someone is in charge of keeping

That s how nervous I was because I knew if I mess up, then that s it, and the team wins.
How I missed the first goal was well, not as important but I ll tell you how I missed the second goal.
So there I was the goalkeeper, or goalie as we called it back in the day, and my team was all the way
on the other side, I was chilling and relaxing in my goal, talking to my friends on defence, and all of a
sudden, all we heard was:
Oh no.......Defence, DEFENCE!!! .That s when I got alerted, and I even specifically told the defence
in front of me,
Yo watch him, watch him!!
The striker cruised through the defence, crossed them over like it was nothing, and then he came next
to the goal, my heart was in my throat, my palms were sweaty, knees weak arms heavy(literally), and
it felt like the whole thing was in slow motion after that. This is the part where it gets confusing: he
kicked, and I saw the ball come straight at me, and I saw it in complete slow motion to the point where
it was like I could see the words on the ball and then it curved....I was confused, the ball came straight
and curved before I could save it. I tried jumping, and it brushed through the tip of my fingers, hit the

I Will Revisit Russon s Definition Of Memory, And Three...
In this paper I will revisit Russon s definition of memory, and three of the aspects that he presents as
important in the memory process. I will also argue that our body play an important role for our
remembering, as does the objects we interact with. As well as present my position on Russon
description of memory demonstrating that Russon s description is indeed relatable to the actual human
experience. Russon s definition of memory is not subjected to one main idea, but rather an
intertwining of related ideas pertaining to experience. He views memory as, What we experience as
the determinateness of objects that communicates to us what we can and cannot do, (Russon 41). To
emphasize, we experience our world through interactions with the world s objects. The contact made
with these objects provides an identity for them that later communicates to us about ourselves. Russon
present this idea of memory based on two types of memory, implicit and explicit. Implicit memory are
memories that we remember in part, while explicit memory are those that we remember completely.
An example that Russon gives in another instance that connects to this is the idea of him terminating
his lease and having a few weeks remaining is inscribed in everything within his apartment. Each
object represents the identity of the future commitment of moving whether pervasively or
occasionally. However Russon thinks that for us to remember there are certain aspects that needs to be

When one thinks about the quality of life in China, people assume that they are thriving due to the
booming markets in their big cities. However, most of China is considered rural and conditions are not
like that of those in the city. Over the past decade, China has invested time and money into developing
their power grids and the development of roads and highways, amongst other things. Their increase in
infrastructure has increased the quality of life for everybody involved. Because they are able to hire
cheap labor, they have been able to employ hundreds, if not thousands, in order to continue their
growth, which makes way for quality of life improvements. According to the Federal Reserve Bank of

Portrait Of An Elephant Descriptive Essay
On the upper left side of the picture frame, the words Maesa Elephant Camp, Chiangmai Thailand are
written in both English and Thai. Across from the words a small elephant, hand carved from wood,
has been attached to the corner. Its trunk is raised above its head, with the mouth open in a soundless
trumpet. Across the bottom of the picture frame We love elephants has been printed. The frame is
made from a rough, dried paper with bits of grass, and is broken into two colors. The top half is sandy
colored, while the bottom is a light chocolate brown.
In the picture are two white girls. Best friends. One, Australian, is blond with blue eyes. The other,
American, is a brunette with brown eyes. And across their sunburnt faces, a smile reaches from ear to
ear. They sit together in a wooden bench that s laced onto an elephant s back. It s a small elephant. A
female just under 8ft. If you were to stand up, you would just reach the tip of its ear. The elephant s
body is a light grey with splotches of tan on the trunk and ears, creating a bleached look. A Thai man,
one of the elephant guides, sits perched on top of the elephant s neck, his skin contrasting with the rich
cobalt blue shirt he s wearing. Upon his head is a woven reed, safari like, hat, and he grips tightly to a
long bamboo cane. Behind us, a rising hill sits, covered with vegetation so lush, the humidity seems to
radiate off the picture.
I run my fingertips over the rough edges of the frame and smile at the picture of my friend Hannah
and I. It had been photographed in Thailand when our youth conference group had taken a trip down
to an Asian elephant sanctuary camp. And this leads me to a realization. The photographer of the
photo had shot it only moments before I found out where the line between exciting and dangerous
really stood.
The ride down to the elephant camp couldn t have been worse. Eight of us had each been packed into
a songthaew a very small bus like vehicle facing each other. Humid air clung to my body like wet
clothes; the pungent odor of body sweat clogging my lungs. Outside, the scenery rushed past me in a
blur of color. By the time we flew around a curve so sharp it almost caused me to project my morning

Essay on Impact of the Industrial Revolution on History
Evolution is life, as life is constantly changing. During Histories most important periods the world
changes drastically. According to historians, two of these periods have taken place, and one of them
was the Industrial Revolution (Miller, 492). Like its name suggests the Industrial Revolution had to do
with the evolving Industry. It was a period during the 18th and 19th centuries marked by social and
technological change in which manufacturing began to rely (INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION, Timeline

They are Romanticism, or the Romantic Movement and Realism, including regionalism and
naturalists (Miller, 534 38). The Romantic Movement, also known as romanticism, took place in the
early 1800 s. Rather than write about the lives of ordinary people, romantics dealt with the romance of
life. They appealed to sentiment and imagination rather than reality (Miller, 534). The essence of
Romanticism is a belief in the power and validity of human emotions as a means of knowing and a
guide to life. Instead of following the previous periods belief in a ruling class as the center of power,
romantics believed that power existed among all people. This was due to every humans capability to
learn through emotional experiences, regardless of stature (Roberts, 1032). Romantic writers not only
glorified these beliefs but the past as well, so it made sense that the Romantic Movement was partly a
reaction to the Enlightenment Movement of the 1700 s. The people of the Enlightenment emphasized
reason and progresses the way romantics lived off of emotion and instinct (Miller, 534). In addition to
reacting to the past, Romanticism undoubtedly reflected many ideas of the, then, present (Roberts,
1032). The American and French Revolutions, with their emphases on the common man and
representative government, influenced the Romantic Movement (Roberts, 1032). Just as France had

The Black And White By Bill Cosby
As a young multiracial girl, I remember watching the Cosby Show trying to understand the black
community. I grew up with my white mother and siblings, so I had no real experiences with how
blacks act in their own society. I only knew what little interaction I had at school and in my
neighborhood, which is not much because I was a scared child. I did not go outside too often without
my siblings, and for how I look, going outside with your white siblings and going outside alone are
two very different experiences. (1) This article s basic point was the realization of how American s,
both black and white, have ignored the crimes Bill Cosby has committed over the years simply
because he made them feel good about themselves and their country. Bill Cosby has been accused of
drugging and rapping over a dozen women, and he constantly accuses the black community of causing
their own dismay. In the Cosby Show, he gave no blame to whites for how they have mistreated blacks
over the last five or six decades. He tried to say racist and prejudice people were no more, and it was
up to blacks to fix their own problems. The author not only thinks this is absurd, but the author also
cannot see how an entire country can be alright with what this man has done and continue to consider
him the best man or the greatest comedian that ever lived. (2) I completely agree with this articles
point. Bill Cosby is a menace, and he will never fully understand what blacks went through back then
or what

Growing Up In Poverty Research Paper

Growing Up in Poverty
It can be argued that an individual s economic status is one of the most important aspects of a person s
place in society, almost more than race, gender, or religion. Poverty can be defined as a state of being
extremely poor. In the United States and many other areas throughout the world there are many
individuals who lack enough money to provide the basic necessities of life. Poverty is a chronic
condition and so many children who grow up in it will face the effects over their lifetime. I see the
main effects of growing up in poverty being poor health, a high risk for teen pregnancy, and the lack
of education.
Poor health is a direct effect of growing up in poverty because children in low economic families may
not have access to adequate medical coverage. If a child doesn t have health insurance or if the family
doesn t have money to see a physician, the child will not have the recommended checkups or
immunizations that help ensure a child is healthy. When a child grows up in poverty the child is more
likely to be underdeveloped. Some studies show that poor nutrition and higher stress levels can ...

When teenage girls grow up in poverty, they may end up pregnant and flee a poor household.
Furthermore, teenagers who grow up in poverty have less access to sex education classes, birth
control, and condoms, which can increase the chances of having a baby at a young age. Girls that
grow up in an impoverished household can become pregnant at an early age, and without the financial
means to support the child, the girl will continue to live in poverty as an adult trying to make ends
meet and take care of a child. A lack of money and health care coverage will prevent the child from
receiving treatment and prevention for medical conditions. This is a vicious cycle that can carry from
generation to

St Valentine s Day Massacre Research Paper
Crime, murder, and gangs were taking a hold of Chicago and one defining moment shocked everyone.
Two gangs, the Italian Sicilian mob and the Irish Jewish crew, had high tensions leading to many
confrontations. But the problems between the two seemed to stop after the St. Valentine s Day
Massacre on February 14, 1929. Then, the hunt for those responsible started. The crime itself involved
many people, killed many people, and even had effects after the crime. There were many well known
people of Chicago in the two groups and high tensions between gangs that would eventually lead up to
the St. Valentine s Day Massacre. The two gangs, the Italian Sicilian mob and the Irish Jewish crew,
had many confrontations but one stood out. Dion O´Banion, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Moran and his gang after the attack, had been able to hold their territory for some time, but never
really came back from the massacre ( Feb. 2). Moran s gang had also lost a lot of strength and power
in Chicago in a short time (Benson, 1). One of the surviving victims, Frank Gusenberg, could have put
the case to rest, serving those responsible, but when asked who shot him, he said, No one shot me ,
and the case was left unsolved when Gusenberg later died from his wounds ( Saint 1). The two leaders
of the attack, were the ones with the strongest alibis. Al Capone and McGurn were not charged for the
crime and seemed to be free, but one gunman, Fred Burke, was arrested for the murder of a police
officer and not for the crime (Rosenberg, 3). Although Capone was not arrested for the crime, it did
put him on the federal government s radar and they had him arrested in 1931 for tax evasion
(Rosenberg, 4). McGurn did not fare well either. One day, after the seventh anniversary of the
massacre, he was gunned down in a bowling alley, ending his career (Rosenberg, 4). The massacre
was however, the last time Capone and Moran interfered with each other. This was because Bugs was
arrested in 1946 for small time robberies and later died in jail from lung cancer. Furthermore, Capone
was arrested in 1931 ( Valentine s 2). Even though many thought they knew who ordered the attack,

Inchoate Crime Research Paper

Inchoate Crimes: A closer look at criminal attempt
The criminal justice system is continually looking for ways to take preventative measures to halt crime
before it happens however when faced with defining attempted crimes the courts have found it
difficult to determine when an action should be punished the same or lesser than a completed crime.
However, there are three types of inchoate crimes that can be punishable by law as these crimes are
the beginning steps of the crime. The three types of offenses include solicitation defined as persuading
or encouraging one to commit a crime, conspiracy which is the agreement to commit crime and
possibly act on agreement and attempt is the unsuccessful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, attempt has two different subcategories of attempt that are punishable by law. Complete
attempt also known as imperfect attempt is when the individual covers all steps to commit crime but
fails to follow through, an example of a complete attempt is if a shooter misses his target in a drive by
attempt. An incomplete attempt is if the individual is forced to abandon the attempted crime due to
reasons beyond one s control, an example of an incomplete attempt is if the shooter had to abandon
location because of known whereabouts by the police. Although, there is a third type of attempt
known as the impossible attempt in which the attempt could have been completed had the scenario
played out correctly such as if the shooter shot at the targets location and target is not present however
this attempt is not a defense in an attempt to commit a crime.
Impossible attempts otherwise known as factual impossibility cannot be used as a defense for criminal
attempt and is not recognized by the Moral Penal Code. Another type of impossibility is inherent
possibility in which the act could never be achieved. However, factual impossibility and inherent
impossibility should not be confused with legal impossibility. The term legal impossibility refers to
when an individual commits an act that they believe is illegal however the act is not although type of
impossibility can be used as a

Firework Show Response
As the firework show came to an end, the mass exodus of people of all ages, exhausted from their
busy day. headed towards the gates of Epcot. The swarm of people walked in the dark lit up by the
light post scattered throughout the park, following the tall signs pointing to what winding path to take.
Chatter between people about the show and their day at the park filled the night air. As I was heading
for the gates, I saw a group of people to my left circled under a roof light up by bright lights. Over the
conversations among people saying My favorite ride was the Test Track , and My favorite country was
Maraco , I heard their tour guide in the middle shouting to them in another language tuviste un buen

  • 2. A Short Note On The Air Leak Syndrome Introduction Air Leak Syndrome is a term used to describe a collection of similar pathologies related to air being in pulmonary, pleural and interstitial spaces. The most common cause of air leak syndrome in neonates is inadequate mechanical ventilation of their delicate lungs. The incidence of air leaks in newborns is inversely related to the birth weight of the infants, especially in infants suffering from respiratory distress syndrome and meconium aspiration (Walsh, 2015). Chest tube drainage and/or needle aspiration are necessary in managing pneumopericardium with cardiac tamponade or tension pneumothorax. To prevent air leak syndrome, gentle ventilation with low pressure, low tidal volume, low inspiratory time, high rate, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For pneumothorax, the incidence from 1990 2002 was 13% in babies weighing 1000 grams are at high risk the first day or two after birth. Babies with pulmonary hypoplasia, meconium aspiration syndrome, and respiratory distress syndrome are also at higher risk. Use of NIV/CPAP also increases the risk. An article in the Pediatrics journal cited three cases where children of various ages developed various air leaks from the use of high flow nasal cannula (HHNC) therapy. The author cited the urgent need to conduct more studies on HHNC and that it should not be used for providing positive distending pressure. Set flows should not exceed the patient s minute ventilation (Hegde, 2013). Prevention Sadly, it should be understood that most of pulmonary air leaks are iatrogenic. Healthcare workers should not be overly aggressive when doing CPR and using the bag mask. Infants lungs are fragile and cannot handle being over ventilated. When using mechanical ventilation, use low pressures low tidal volumes and high respiratory rates. Risk of pneumothorax and pulmonary interstitial emphysema can be reduced by using surfactant. Pathophysiology Air leaks are a result of overdistention of the lungs and can cause uneven alveolar ventilation and air trapping. Increased pressures can rupture alveoli or other tissues, allowing air to escape into the interstitial spaces. This air can then travel through perivascular adventitia, causing pulmonary interstitial emphysema. If the air ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This simple process was done through the reward system of the brain; The dog hears or sees the instruction, follows through, and is rewarded with a treat, however, now it has been proposed through a series of experiments that there is a much more complicated pattern canines brains follow to interpret the gestures and faces of their owners and others around them. Mental Deterioration In Macbeth Macbeth s Mental Deterioration Mental deterioration is when one s mind begins to over analyse, breakdown, and start to do things a healthy brain would not normally do. Symptoms may include memory loss, apathy, anxiety, inhibition, and mood changes. Power goes to Macbeth s head, causing him to lose his sense of empathy, and eventually his mentality. In Act I, scene 2 Macbeth is described as brave, relentless and savage. At first glance, he appears to be a brave soldier. He is named Thane of Cawdor as a reward for his bravery . After this, the witches predict wealth, estate, and that someday he will become king. This information results in Macbeth having thoughts of murder (Act 1, scene 3 lns 130 142). After Duncan announced that his son, Malcolm, will be heir to the throne Macbeth states that there is one more man in his way of becoming king. Comparing Johnson And Voltaire s Rasselas Prince Of Abissina Authors Johnson and Voltaire were both novelists of the eighteenth century who took the surreal world of utopia and used it to compare the world around them. Published within months of each other, both novels are noticeably similar with their biblical references and final critiques of modern Europe. Through these similarities two different stories unfold, both which involve the wonderous world of utopia. These imagined places of perfection begin to ask the question of what a person needs to be completely happy, and it is when both protagonists decide to leave these havens that the authors begin to show their critiques of man and the society they live in. While both authors approach their texts differently, one can see their comparable critiques of the problems within society through the utopias they create and the unanimous conclusion for the imperative need for every individual to discover their own happiness by having both of their characters choosing to leave it. Johnson and Voltaire both set their stories in the fantastical world of a utopia, but approach them very differently. Through Rasselas, Prince of Abissina, Johnson uses realistic characters and stays level with them throughout the text; describing where they are, what they are doing, and even providing compassion towards them, thus encouraging the reader to identify with them. Since the dawn of humanity, man struggled and persevered through nature s unforgiving vicissitudes, but emerged fervently from them with the stern intent of actuating his ever evolving desires. The debate between determinism and free will has raged since antiquity, and the main difference between them lies in an element of control; the one outer and the other inner, respectively. Determinism is the philosophical idea that every event or state of affairs, including every human decision and action, is the inevitable and necessary consequence of antecedent states of affairs. Human desire can only be expressed effectively through the attainment of power, provided it is desired; therefore, human action is determined by desire. Altruism is acting with an unselfish regard for others. Cooperative behavior enabled our ancestors to further enhance their survivability under harsh conditions, which clarifies the notion that when we make the effort to give without expectations of reciprocity, we feel fulfilled and energized. The previous sentence hinges upon the illicit negative fallacy, which is an argument whose conclusion of a standard form is affirmative, but at least one of the premises is negative. If the effort to give without expectations of reciprocity is true, then the expected feeling of fulfilment and energy mustn t be felt in order for the statement to be considered cogent; however, it was maintained that it was felt; therefore, the statement is fallacious. Thence, from the example provided, it can be concluded that altruism is nonexistent. Altruism and free will are mutually inclusive; if altruism is nonexistent, then free will is also nonexistent. Actions which spring from internal control are guided by free will; those which spring from external forces are guided by determinism. • 26. Arguments Against The Drug War Each day it seems America slips further away from the true meaning of individual liberty. I m sure you have been raised to think that you grew up in the land of the free, but I question what the true definition of freedom is. Now don t get me wrong, I agree that other countries may not have as much freedom as we do in America but that s not my argument. The problem is that The land of the free isn t so free anymore. It seems we go against the constitution more often every year. The drug war is a great example of us loosening our grips on the constitution because of the precise fact that it takes away individual liberty. They believe that law enforcement using their powers is making America more drug free. The facts prove this to be incorrect though, because it is doing everything except for what it was created to do. Since the day that the drug war began drug use has expanded steadily, which is the complete opposite of its purpose. What people fail to realize is that others will use drugs regardless of if it is legal or not. During the 1920 s the alcohol prohibition brought similar outcomes as the drug war is. It s causing violence, lawlessness, gangs, brutality and corruption. The reasoning for the violence was not that selling or making alcohol was unsafe, but was ultimately caused by the brutal black market, which sent profits through the roof. As Congressmen Ron Paul once stated The only beneficiaries are the drug barons, smugglers and dealers who enjoy exorbitant profits, and those dark forces in government who try to further suppress our freedoms under the excuse of fighting the war against drugs. Pablo Escobar s son stated that the United States Government used to work with Pablo. They worked with him by smuggling more drugs into America and buying or selling drugs to and from Pablo himself. That is just one man s word but there have been multiple times when the CIA has been called out in making or selling cocaine. If the drug war were working there wouldn t be a large amount of people using drugs and there wouldn t be people committing crimes to get the drugs, because if it were working then the country would be drug free. I iterate that people still use drugs and the drug war has done nothing but create violence, send people to jail and ruin opportunities for the person. Fishing in the North Atlantic Essay example Fishing in the North Atlantic Abstract Ocean fishes have been consumed by humans beyond their maximum sustainable yields for years and the Atlantic cod and squid are two examples. Cods were primarily overfished to commercial extinction. Other variables were also examined to see if they contribute to the declining population. Water temperature was the natural phenomenon that may be responsible for poor egg hatching. Human causes such as increased UV radiation from depleted ozone and bottom trawling disturbance were considered. Trawling disturbance had the worst effect while the other factors were questionable. As the cod vanished, the commercial fisher turned to squid to continue their way of life. Government policy and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a first world country, we consume a first class quantity of seafood as well. Overfishing of marine resources jeopardizes not just our existence, but they are also vital in supporting various ecosystems. In this paper, a number of research articles and other review articles were examined to compose a picture of the overfishing crisis. The recent developments of Atlantic cod and squid are discussed in more detail to provide a pattern that may lead to empty oceans in the future. Accounting for fish in the ocean. There are many methods to account for the number of fish in the ocean. However, there are many uncertainties within any models of assessment. The reliability of instruments and the weather condition during survey have great influence over the results (Smith and Gavaris, 1993). The mathematics involved and the interpretation of the numbers is very difficult to comprehend and are beyond the scope of this paper. However, in one 1997 journal article, C. J. Corkett criticized the commonly used Graham Schaeder model of fish accounting. In general, he discredited the interpretation of the data because of the instrumentalist approach used by many fishery managements. Instrumentalism is defined in the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language as a pragmatic theory that ideas are instruments that function as guides of action, their validity being determined by the success of the action. We did small laps around the goal posts, stretched and then we picked teams. It was all good until I was picked to be a goalkeeper. I hated being goalkeeper because being goal keeper means one literally keeps the team s score, like you re the one responsible for your wins, if you mess up the whole team is screwed. • 30. I Will Revisit Russon s Definition Of Memory, And Three... In this paper I will revisit Russon s definition of memory, and three of the aspects that he presents as important in the memory process. I will also argue that our body play an important role for our remembering, as does the objects we interact with. As well as present my position on Russon description of memory demonstrating that Russon s description is indeed relatable to the actual human experience. Russon s definition of memory is not subjected to one main idea, but rather an intertwining of related ideas pertaining to experience. He views memory as, What we experience as the determinateness of objects that communicates to us what we can and cannot do, (Russon 41). To emphasize, we experience our world through interactions with the world s objects. The contact made with these objects provides an identity for them that later communicates to us about ourselves. Russon present this idea of memory based on two types of memory, implicit and explicit. Implicit memory are memories that we remember in part, while explicit memory are those that we remember completely. An example that Russon gives in another instance that connects to this is the idea of him terminating his lease and having a few weeks remaining is inscribed in everything within his apartment. Each object represents the identity of the future commitment of moving whether pervasively or occasionally. However Russon thinks that for us to remember there are certain aspects that needs to be involve. First is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Across from the words a small elephant, hand carved from wood, has been attached to the corner. Its trunk is raised above its head, with the mouth open in a soundless trumpet. Across the bottom of the picture frame We love elephants has been printed. The frame is made from a rough, dried paper with bits of grass, and is broken into two colors. The top half is sandy colored, while the bottom is a light chocolate brown. In the picture are two white girls. Best friends. One, Australian, is blond with blue eyes. The other, American, is a brunette with brown eyes. And across their sunburnt faces, a smile reaches from ear to ear. They sit together in a wooden bench that s laced onto an elephant s back. It s a small elephant. A female just under 8ft. If you were to stand up, you would just reach the tip of its ear. The elephant s body is a light grey with splotches of tan on the trunk and ears, creating a bleached look. A Thai man, one of the elephant guides, sits perched on top of the elephant s neck, his skin contrasting with the rich cobalt blue shirt he s wearing. Upon his head is a woven reed, safari like, hat, and he grips tightly to a long bamboo cane. The photographer of the photo had shot it only moments before I found out where the line between exciting and dangerous really stood. The ride down to the elephant camp couldn t have been worse. Eight of us had each been packed into a songthaew a very small bus like vehicle facing each other. Humid air clung to my body like wet clothes; the pungent odor of body sweat clogging my lungs. According to historians, two of these periods have taken place, and one of them was the Industrial Revolution (Miller, 492). It was a period during the 18th and 19th centuries marked by social and technological change in which manufacturing began to rely (INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION, Timeline Index). Rather than write about the lives of ordinary people, romantics dealt with the romance of life. They appealed to sentiment and imagination rather than reality (Miller, 534). The essence of Romanticism is a belief in the power and validity of human emotions as a means of knowing and a guide to life. Instead of following the previous periods belief in a ruling class as the center of power, romantics believed that power existed among all people. This was due to every humans capability to learn through emotional experiences, regardless of stature (Roberts, 1032). Romantic writers not only glorified these beliefs but the past as well, so it made sense that the Romantic Movement was partly a reaction to the Enlightenment Movement of the 1700 s. The people of the Enlightenment emphasized reason and progresses the way romantics lived off of emotion and instinct (Miller, 534). In addition to reacting to the past, Romanticism undoubtedly reflected many ideas of the, then, present (Roberts, 1032). The American and French Revolutions, with their emphases on the common man and representative government, influenced the Romantic Movement (Roberts, 1032). I did not go outside too often without my siblings, and for how I look, going outside with your white siblings and going outside alone are two very different experiences. (1) This article s basic point was the realization of how American s, both black and white, have ignored the crimes Bill Cosby has committed over the years simply because he made them feel good about themselves and their country. Bill Cosby has been accused of drugging and rapping over a dozen women, and he constantly accuses the black community of causing their own dismay. In the Cosby Show, he gave no blame to whites for how they have mistreated blacks over the last five or six decades. He tried to say racist and prejudice people were no more, and it was up to blacks to fix their own problems. The author not only thinks this is absurd, but the author also cannot see how an entire country can be alright with what this man has done and continue to consider him the best man or the greatest comedian that ever lived. Poverty can be defined as a state of being extremely poor. In the United States and many other areas throughout the world there are many individuals who lack enough money to provide the basic necessities of life. Poverty is a chronic condition and so many children who grow up in it will face the effects over their lifetime. I see the main effects of growing up in poverty being poor health, a high risk for teen pregnancy, and the lack of education. Poor health is a direct effect of growing up in poverty because children in low economic families may not have access to adequate medical coverage. If a child doesn t have health insurance or if the family doesn t have money to see a physician, the child will not have the recommended checkups or immunizations that help ensure a child is healthy.
