Cancer Caregiver Support Groups
Caregiver support groups play a valuable role in assisting individuals with coping with a loved
one s disease, injury and/or disorder. In this paper, I will discuss the support group, topics
discussed and my personal feelings about the support group.
To begin, on March 19, 2016, I attended a cancer caregiver support group facilitated by Peggy
Morehouse, a social worker. The group began with each group member sharing, in a circle,
updates and challenges of the family members diagnosed with cancer in a circle. The group was
an informal model lead by group members. The informal model allowed members to offer
empathy, support, referrals and insight as needed, rather than be forced to cover specific topics.
Next, the group covered many different

Zoos Are Saving Endangered Animals From Extinction Many thought zoos were just for attraction,
but they are meant for more than just that.
Several zoos that we go to nowadays with our families are not only there for the sightseeing of
the animals, but they are they re for their safety. Endangered animals are now the priority of
practically every zoo in the world. There have already been six species around the world saved from
extinction by zoos. One may wonder, what do these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The caretakers of the zoos and the animal care staff always make sure that the animals are always
well looked after and feel as close to their natural habitat and home as possible. The safe
environment of the zoo increases life expectancy of endangered animals. As said by naturalist
Kate Sheridan from Quora.com that animals live longer in zoos because they are removed from
the food change and from natural hazards. The animals health and diet is monitored carefully so
if anything is wrong with the animals , the zoo veterinarians know what to do and how to heal
the animal. Several species have been protected and reintroduced by zoos. A study by Ariel
Woodruff on Uproxx.com lists many animals who were saved by zoos. Here are a few endangered
species who were protected by zoological parks; the Red Wolf was placed on the list of most
endangered animals in 1969. With fewer and fewer wolves left , The Point Defiance Zoo and
Aquarium and the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service took action by working on four of the Red
Wolves left in the world. By 1980 the scientists of the The Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium and
U.S Fish and Wildlife Service declared that the breed was extinct but then in 1987 the Red Wolf
was revived . Now there are more than 100 Red Wolves in the world. In the same study by Ariel
Woodruff , the California Condor was placed in the near to extinction list in the early 1980 s with
only 23 birds streaming in the skies.

The Benefits Of Antitrust Law
Telser has also suggested that when productions require each entrant to pay fixed costs that cannot
be fully recouped by most of the participants unless means can be found to restrict total output
(and hence fix prices) and then divide total sales. (Machovec, 1995) Some form of race to the
bottom will happen unless a form of horizontal price fixing takes place with social benefits. The
most common examples provided by the literature are related with transportation industry, such, as
airlines and shipping carriers. (Lester T. G., 1994)

Stretching Research Paper
While modern technology has made many tasks quicker and easier, it has also helped to create a
nation of desk bound office workers with a host of chronic aches and pains caused by too much
sitting. If you are one of the millions who suffer from pain in the hips and lower back, you may
be able to find relief with a few simple stretches. An easy five minute routine of stretching every
morning can help to loosen up tightness in the hip flexors and reduce pain in both the hips and
lower back. The stretches described below are so easy you can do them almost anywhere. If you
are ready to say good bye to hip and back pain, let s get started! Eye of the Needle (one minute)

The poem, God’s Grandeur by Gerard Manley Hopkins is an...
The poem, God s Grandeur by Gerard Manley Hopkins is an Italian sonnet, which closely follows
the traditional Italian rhyme of ABBAABBA, and then CDCDCD. (Shmoop) There are also several
words throughout the poem that rhyme within themselves. For example God, rod, trod, shod all
rhyme. Gerard Hopkins liked to use sprung rhythmin which the stressed and unstressed syllables
have a complicated relationship, and the message desired from the reader can change the rhythm.
(Shmoop) Sprung rhythm allows each person to read the poem differently and take away what
they wish. The speaker of this poem has lost faith in humanity and their treatment of the world
God had granted us. However, in the second half of the poem, the speaker shows his views of the
world and its connection to God.
In the first stanza of God s Grandeur, the speaker is amazed at the greatness of God. However, he
is dismayed by the way people treat God s creation. God himself directed humans to care for
their world. Genesis 2:15 says, The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden
to work it and take care of it. (Genesis) Mankind s treatment of the Earth obviously did not
measure up to the standard that the speaker has envisioned. This is clearly visible in lines four
through seven, Why do men then now not reck his rod? Generations have trod, have trod, have
trod; and all is seared with trade; bleared, smeared with toil; and wears man s smudge and shares
man s smell. (God s) The

The Impact Of Homelessness On Homeless Children
According to the Coalition of the Homeless in August 2016, there were 15,501 homeless families
with 23,929 homeless children sleeping in the NYC shelter system. There have been protests in
many of these communities where shelters have been emerging to cater to the needs of our
homelessness crisis, wanting the shelters out of their neighborhoods, as well as the children who
reside in these shelters who attend the schools in the community. These children face the struggle
and hardship of homelessnessin addition to the stigma of being outcasts in these schools and
communities. This has a traumatic impact on the child, affecting their self confidence and self
esteem. According to the Department of Education, 60% of students that live in the shelter

Trail Obstacles
The smell of oak and pine filled my nose, the sky was blue and all you can see was the mountains
and trees. It was my cousin, grandpa, uncle, my uncle s friend, then my dad and I. We were in
the High sierra Mountains in california. We did not expect the trail to be this difficult. We
overcame obstacles that seemed impossible. Once we arrived to the campsite we stayed their for a
few days. That hike made me realize what true success really feels like.
After a good night s rest, we headed off to the trail. We had to take frequent breaks, because the air
was super thin. The trail was rocky, uneven, and slippery. If I were to fall that would be very very
bad. I thought it was easy, but then the impossible happened.
No one in the group thought it was part of the trail. The rain has washed out the trail. All was left
was a one foot ledge. With our big boots it seemed impossible. We had to leap to the other side and

The Ledge and slide looking thing were not as hard like the first time. Since we were familiar with
the trail, all of it seemed normal to us. Even though the obstacles were behind us we still needed to
stay focused. Now it was just a test of endurance. The last mile was the hardest mile out of the
whole trip. My legs were sore, I had a headache, and I was very thirsty. However, when we saw the
trail head we were filled with joy. Once we stepped of the trail we felt like we succeeded.
I will always remember the smell of the wood and the beautiful scenery. We were not expecting
the trail to be washed out. The group overcame obstacles that seemed impossible. The trail head
seemed like a safe haven. I have never felt like that after we got back. I felt like I succeeded and
accomplished and proud. I would go on that trip again in a heartbeat. The trip taught me to work

Langston Hughes Guilt
Langston Hughes definitely wanted to get an extremely critical point across with this essay. That
point was about the amount of guilt a young teenager can experience when not reaching the
religious standards that were established by those around them. This also brings up many
questions similar to, Is a young teenager s brain capable of comprehending religious concepts?
and Does society pressure young people into being a certain way? I believe these are the types of
questions that the author truly wants readers to consider. These issues weren t difficult to capture
from the essay due to Mr. Hughes s clever cause and effect technique. For instance, we saw
Langston Hughess emotional reaction to the lie he had made about seeing Jesus.

Examples Of Impact Essay
Impact Essay This year has impacted me in a tremendous way with many crazy, fun, sad, and
life changing events. A lot of these events happened outside of school, but there are many events
that still happened in school that changed me as well. A major, and still ongoing event, that is
happening is experiencing reality and how it can be great and harsh sometimes. The reason I
call this an event that is still ongoing is because realizing reality and all that it ahs to give is
seen through multiple personal events. One of those events that is ongoing for me is making
and meeting new friends. The way that this has changed me is that when you make new friends
you begin to develop a kind of sense where you know if the are a real friend or not, which can
change someone like it has to me, because if they are not a real friend and you rely on them just

Another event that has changed me that was in school is how you should stand up for yourself
whenever you feel like you are in the right or whenever you are in a situation that you need to. I
was changed by this through many events such as being made fun of. Whenever I was made fun
of by my friends or even my own family, every time that it would happen I would stand up for
myself more and more that it occurred which has really changed me and helped me in a way that
I am very thankful for. Another way that I have been changed by an event of standing up for
myself is by doing wrestling as a sport. Part taking in wrestling really helped me build up on my
confidence because know I have that confidence in myself that at one specific sport I am better
than most people who don t play that sport or even the confidence that I am better than some
people who do play that sport. Another event that has changed me in a tremendous way is family
events. Throughout this year a lot of stuff has happened, but just like every other year the family
events always change me in ways that I didn t think

Information literacy requires a learner to identify, understand, and evaluate the strengths and

student of higher education must be able to read through articles and papers and be able to see
the strength and weakness of a particular paper and be able to analyze the information to see how

Adolf Hitler
The one who does not remember history is bound to live through it again
George Santayana
Adolf Hitler is known for having the greatest impact on Europe in all of history, especially
Germany. Although the majority of people look down on him for his mass murder of about 6
million Jews in a short time period, his story of influence on a whole country is incredible. He
started out as a boy from a little town in Austria with nothing more than a paintbrush and a dream; a
dream to become an artist and study at the Vienna Academy of Art. Although this infamous man is
one of the most hated people in history, his story is one that must be told.

A FГјhrer is a German leader or guide, which is now related often to Hitler. Hitler s rise to power
was based on long term affects for Germany. The decade of depression left by the First World War,
which left Europe in great debt and starving. There was so much resentment in the Germans,
which they wanted a leader that could help them out of the state of depression that lasted so
long. Hitler s Nazi s, men who followed and helped Hitler to his rise of power, also had a reign of
terror that scared Europe and thus leading to Hitler s rise. Adolf Hitler was a very profound and
persuasive public speaker. He would make public speeches about how if he got into power, that
he would guarantee food and health for every person in Germany. One of his mottos was A
Chicken In Every Pot, A [Volkswagon] In Every Garage . This was a very promising statement for
Germany; after all they had been through.
The Holocaust is the most infamous mass murder throughout all of history. It went on from
January 30th, 1933 to May 8th, 1945 (V E Day). It was a plan to murder all people of the Jewish
religion in Europe. This was a very highly thought through plan created by Hitler to achieve his
perfect race . Hitler s anti Semitism acts were because he thought that it was a Jewish professor that
turned Hitler down from being able to study at the Academy in Vienna and also thought that it was

John Ernst Steinbeck was born in 1902 the third child of four to John and Olive Steinbeck. John
Sr. was an accountant that supported the family and Olive stayed home and took care of the
children. The Steinbeck Family lived in the Salinas Valley in Central California near the coast. We
can see throughout John s entire life the roots of his books and philosophy coming from the migrant
farming town on the coast of central California(BBC John). John s mother was very strict and
made sure that every kid in the household contributed and could keep the house in good
condition. John grew up in neither in wealth or poverty but his mother made sure the house was
always in tip top shape. In addition, every child was taught proper etiquette and the rules were
always strictly enforced(Snyder). John gained an interest in literature from a young age from his
parents always having in depth conversations that would stimulate deeper thought and having
discussions were all arguments would be dealt with lists of valid points and proof to back up. At
the table Olive would many times play the devil s advocate so everyone could divulge into what
they believed in from simple community issues to more philosophical thinking. At the age of 14,
John first decided that he would become an established author and he went after this goal for his
entire life. In school, John was not part of the popular cliche and was very stand offish(Harmon).

Abstract
In 2007, Apple and Starbucks became partners in the venture of iTunes store. Over time, another

The Influencing Machine Summary
Brooke Gladstone and Josh Neufeld are the authors of the article The Influencing Machines .
This article is about technology and is written through a comic style form. Gladstone s main idea
on this article is that we should not fear technology. Gladstone s and Neufeld s comic style
article about technology is the best way to convey her argument because it gives visuals to
express her argument, has a different form of arrangement of her details and thesis, and she
gives examples of modern technology that should not scare us. In her comic style article you
can see there is a lot of visuals as you go through the reading. The visuals throughout the article
helps the readers get her ideas more clearly than a regular article with no images. For example,
on the first page of the article she talks about homophily and even though she gives the definition
before the word, the picture of her in a flock of birds can help the reader understand and visually
see that homophily means the groups we associate ourselves that have similar views to us. Not

In the early 410 1066 there was a group of people named the Anglo Saxons they were a group

Questions On Issues Of Abortion

Issues of Abortion
Abortion has became a big issue in not just the US but in pretty much everywhere
else around the globe. To some people it is a sin to do but to others they might have a
good reason to go through it but it can be just an easy way out of going through
pregnancy and raising a child. Abortion should only be legal under certain circumstances
by applying equality amongst the fetus and the mother without giving more rights to
either for example if the mother was raped ,while possibly being underage as well, if
something is wrong with her like if she was in danger of dying , or if something is wrong
with the fetus like a sever disease then the mother should have a saying if she wants to
have an abortion but if none of those reasons apply then the woman should go through
the pregnancy if it doesn t harm her.
The main problem with abortion is the fact that it has to do with a person s life
being taken away. Also there is religious reasons and religious people that are concerned
with the issue because a lot of religions do not comply with abortion being legal.
sometimes women do not want to have a or the child because they just don t care or want
to deal with the pressure of taking care or going through the pregnancy and maybe being
an under aged teenager. pro life supporters always do have to question why is this legal
but there is of course the people who support

Andrew Marvell, “to His Coy Mistress”
Andrew Marvell, To His Coy Mistress In To His Coy Mistress the speaker carefully constructs a
subtle and logical argument as to why his addressee should sexually unite with him. The speaker
attempts this proposition through finesse in manipulating reason, form and imagery. The reasoning
employed would be familiar to a reader educated in Renaissance England, as it is reminiscent of
classical philosophical logic, entailing a statement, a counter statement and a resolution. In line with

The next section runs from lines 21 to 32, here the speaker moves away from the hypothetical to
reality but retains the melodramatic language used in the previous section to sustain the tenacity
of his points. Time here is portrayed as chasing the speaker as opposed to being something the
speaker is in control of as in the end of the last section. This is done using the image of a winged
chariot (l.22), this has classical associations with Greek mythology which relates to his form of
argument. The meter of the poem is restrictively regular, this structure emphasises the idea that
time is constantly progressing; reflecting the speaker s argument. Space is no longer inhabited by
images of movement and life like the rivers previously mentioned but instead: before us lie
/ Deserts of vast eternity (ll. 23 4). The desert has strong connotations with deathliness, an issue
that the speaker gruesomely develops upon and progresses within this section. The speaker implies
on lines 26 7 that the only exploration of the mistress s body that will be undertaken will be by the
worms that are decomposing her body if she remains in her coy state. This thought that her sexuality
should not be wasted is elaborated upon with a crude pun on line 29: And your quaint honor turn to
dust which, as the Norton Anthology of Poetry explains in the footnote, is a play on the Middle
English noun queynte which means female genitals. These images of

Literary Criticism Of Rusalka
A masterpiece of operatic literature, AntonГn DvoЕ™ГЎk s Rusalka steadily rises to international
recognition and popularity. With its lush melodies, beautiful orchestration, and poetic text, Rusalka
continues to transcend the idea that it exists strictly as a Czech opera unable to be understood by
foreign audiences. Though it remains the only of DvoЕ™ГЎk s operas to receive international
fame (and is arguably the greatest), the romanticism and universal appeal of the story aide in
securing a place for DvoЕ™ГЎk in history as not only a great orchestral composer, but also a
gifted composer of opera. Rusalka tells the story of a water nymph (Rusalka) who falls passionately
in lovewith a humanprince. She makes a deal with a witch to become a human herself, so that she
might experience love. However, this compromise comes at a price. First, Rusalka will not be
able to use her voice to communicate with humans. Second, if she fails to win the Prince s
affections, she will be pulled back by the water, forever cursed to exist as a bludiДЌka, or will o the
wisp, a soulless light moving erratically over the water and luring men to their deaths in the
swamps. Though Rusalka is initially successful in winning the Prince s love, he grows
increasingly frustrated with her inability to speak to him and is seduced by a foreign princess.
Rusalka, betrayed, returns to the water to accept her fate. As Rusalka laments her fate, the witch
returns with a knife to tell her she can avoid a soulless

Effect Of Advertising On Children Essay
Effect of Advertising on Children Advertising is something that everyone sees, whether that be
driving down the road, listening to the radio, or watching television everyone is bound to see
some. Children growing up today cannot go a day without checking Facebook, Twitter, or
Instagram. These children are always on their phones or watching television so they see these
advertisements hundreds of times a month. When watching television, it is impossible not to see
an advertisement about sugary or fast food, alcohol, or sexual advertisements which are all
affecting today s children and adolescents. Although most of these advertisements are focused
towards adults, they hit children and adolescents the hardest. In late April of 2011 the New York
times published a story about the use of cartoon characters in the commercials of cereal brands.
In this article, they speak about the Federal Trade Commission enacting new rules on big name
cereal brands such as Fruit Loops. The guidelines released by the Federal Trade Commission
included television and print ads, Web sites, online games disguised as camouflaged
advertisements, social media, product placement in movies, the use of movie characters in cross
promotions and fast food children s meals (Neuman). As this article was published in 2011 I
remember how many different cereal advertisements there were on television when I watched, but,
now a day I see much less advertisements about these overly sugary cereals in part due to

Mobile Communication Is Multi Hop Ad Hoc Systems
INTRODUCTION: The Latest advances in Wireless Communications have extended conceivable
applications from straightforward voice services in early cell systems to new incorporated
information applications. These days, numerous up to date cellular telephones are likewise
incorporated with functionalities including FM radio, advanced camera, and MP3 player. Hence,
the services upheld by mobile communications have extended from basic voice to sight and sound,
for example, video conferencing and portable gaming. These new services require a higher service
quality and also more prominent information rate. Moreover, with mobile access to the Internet, the
expanding development in information movement will further drive the requirement for higher data
transmission. Current foundations that bolster mostly voice activity are confronting an incredible
test in meeting both the transmission capacity and quality of service requests of future mobile
communication clients. For mobile communication, one concept with successful improvement is
customary single hop cell frameworks where a mobile station (MS) speaks specifically with a base
station (BS) [1]. Another idea of mobile communication is multi hop ad hoc systems, which are
infrastructure less, self sorting out and quickly deployable with no site arranging, dissimilar to
traditional cell systems. At the point when associations need to move between heterogeneous
systems for performance and high accessibility reasons, consistent

Foucault and Nietzsche on Knowledge
The concept of power should be considered with greater attention because it shows a path to
which Foucault adheres, to an extent, but not to the discharge of other pathways that contradict
it. In fact, productive power comes from Foucault s idea that contradictory vision disables power
against a self governing subject and does not understand the connection of power and its subject.
What is more important, is that Foucault makes a rational connection between knowledge and
power, stating that power relations are predicated on knowledge, but the latter does not imply
power relations. Nonetheless, the denial of independent knowledge is associated with the
independent individuality, which means that power and knowledge are combined to deliver a
form of subjectivity. A psychological identity relates to a persons self image and needs to be
revealed by delivering an idea that defines modern outlooks on individual. The human sciences
develop different aspects of individuality and identity and, therefore, they are based on the
assumption that science is a reflection of power relations leading to knowledge expansion.
According to John McGowan, in The Problem of Freedom in Postmodern Theory, knowledge,
power, and the subject are shown to be intimately related to one another within a single productive
process (p. 129). In this instance, it could be stated that power is considered to be the major source
of knowledge and subject. The connection between knowledge and power creates the

The Negative Analysis Of Uber Technologies
Presently, many companies are seemingly willing to practice corporate political activism. Uber
Technologies Former CEO Travis Kalanick had been very vocal about his political positions.
Unfortunately, the support faced harsh criticism from Uber s customer base over the support of
President Trump and his political decisions. Kalanick, as well as other technology CEO s, joined
Donald Trumps business advisory council as a way for their company to have a relationship with
the Republican Party as well as with the White House.
However, Kalanick defended his decision to show support for Donald Trump as well as ignoring
the taxi strike in saying, We ll partner with anyone in the world as long as they re about making
transportation in cities better, creating job opportunities, making it easier to get around, getting
pollution out of the air and traffic off the streets (Fiegerman, 2017). Many did not respect the
decision to ignore the taxi strike as customers believed that Uber should have shown their support.
Kalanick s decision to cross picket lines caused customers to protest by chaining themselves to the
main entrance of their office building. The internal and external pressures resulting from Kalanick s
decisions led to his resignation from the business advisory council, explaining that, joining the
group was not meant to be an endorsement of the President or his agenda but unfortunately it has
been misinterpreted to be exactly that (Romm, 2017). Since Uber is not

The Pros And Cons Of H-1B Visas
H 1B Visas In recent years, much has changed in the science, technology, engineering, and
mathematics (STEM) fields. Three sources entitled, Rising above the Gathering Storm,
Innovative America, and Tapping America s Potential argue that if Americans do not improve in
the STEM field our economy will suffer, so will our exports, and will heavily impact America. If
we do not improve then the standard of living may fall and so will our economy. The three
reports talk about using more innovation and technology, if we do this then our economy will be
stable. The proponents argue that we need to close achievement gaps, improve the quality of
teachers, increase labor supply, improve our international ranking, and issue more H 1B visas.
Workers in the STEM field think that their employers are replacing them because the H 1B foreign
workersare cheaper. Although, critics argue that the STEM movement is sabotaging other
countries so, America can be ahead. But, for the US to be ahead in innovation and STEM
education, we need to issue more H 1B visas. The H 1b program is for guest workers from
different countries.
The critics argue that these H 1B visas are popular because companies want to obtain workers at a
lower cost than American workers.. Ron HIra, the writer of The H 1B and L 1 Visa Programs: Out
of Control, writes about how H 1B workers are supposed to be helping, but instead they are making
things worse for American workers. The goals of the H 1B and L1 visa programs

Sex Workers and Violence Essay
It is self evident that financial reasons for sex work are most prominent. Surprisingly near to
40% indicate that they like this kind of work. About one third of the women are offering sex
services for altruistic reasons, as they want to help. Thus, sex work obviously also serves very
personal reasons; sex work can enhance self esteem, allow the person to be their own master give a
feeling of power (pg. 149).
In a study performed by Koken (2012), the researcher approaches prostitution as a form of paid
labor that women may choose to engage in under circumstances ranging from the luxurious to the
destitute. Results from the study showed that women articulated feelings of pride about their work,
their body, and their ability to use sex work ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of this stigmatization from the police, community and law system, sex workers know
they will receive no protection from the police and must therefore take their safety into their
own hands. Either by accepting the risks and going out on the streets anyway, or by carrying a
weapon, like mace or a knife, and possibly facing charges if the weapon were discovered by the
police. In other parts of the world, where prostitution is legal, sex workers face less violence and
therefore feel less fear about working in their industry. Apparently, there is evidence that some
systems of legalization provide a relatively safe working environment. Although no system is risk
free, women working in legal brothels and window units in the Netherlands experience very little
violence. Workers and managers have instituted elaborate procedures to respond to violent
customers quickly and effectively, in Nevada s legal brothels, the risk of violence is very low
(ProCon.org, 2013)
So, when prostitution is legalized, controlled and, more importantly, monitored, it becomes less of
a risk for workers in that industry. Managers and sex workers themselves are able to develop
security measures and systems, which allow them to receive help should a

Comparison Of The Catcher In The Rye By J. D. Salinger
On January 1, 1919, Jerome David Salinger the author of the iconic novel, The Catcher in the
Rye was born in Manhattan, New York. After receiving national attention for his masterpiece,
Salinger became somewhat of a hermit and led a reclusive life. For a reserved individual, such
as J.D. Salinger, what more suitable way is there to illustrate his own life experiences than a tale
of a teenager who entices the reader through his unique view of the world? Without a doubt,
there are multiple parallels that can be drawn between the lives of Holden and the author
himself. In his younger days, J.D. Salinger attended multiple public schools in Manhattan until
his parents decided to enroll him at the McBurney School, an exclusive private school for ninth
and tenth graders. J.D. would flunk out of this school just as Holden had flunked out of Pencey.
According to Holden, there were A million reasons why. It was one of the worst schools I ever
went to. It was full of phonies. And mean guys. You never saw so many mean guys in your life.
(167). Even though the circumstances of Holden s and Salinger s unceremonious exits from
Pencey and McBurney respectively, were eerily similar, the school that Salinger would be sent to
the next and eventually graduate from Valley Forge Military Academy would become the
blueprint for Pencey Prep as it appeared in The Catcher in the Rye. The arrangement of Pencey s
dormitories was derived from Valley Forge. There was even a boy named Ackley at Valley

Essay On Social Darwinism
Industrialism is one of those of concept that has its good and bad contributions to this nation that
people created and developed over time to survive. I believe if we are going to talk about
industrialization, we need to connect the concept to Social Darwinism. In A People and A Nation,
Norton and authors define Social Darwinism by Charles Darwins theory of survival of the fittest to
the free market system, arguing that competition would weed out weaker firms and allow stronger
fitter firms to thrive (466). If we look by human development, we can see that humans feed off of
progress and to create survival following the wars and great depression. Especially in the

The Effects Of Hellish Interpersonal Characters In No Exit...
Hellish Interpersonal Situations by Peng Su
Situations of unpleasant interactions between people are common even in our societies. At least
each person has at one time has experienced a terrible or unpleasant interaction with another
person. In the play No Exit by Sartre and the poems The Waste Land by Eliot, there are similar
unpleasant interactions depicted. No Exit is a play consisting of three characters Inez, Garcin, and
Estelle who are in hell damned in one room. The characters had thought hell was a place for
punishment but rather found themselves in a room well furnished. However, all the characters
refuse to admit to their damnation reasons. The Waste Land on the other hand is a collection of
poems that delve in war, disillusionment, death, and trauma themes to show the effects of World
War I. Therefore, the focus of this essay is to discuss unpleasant interpersonal situations depicted in
the two texts and that are similar.
In both texts, the characters were frightened by the interactions with the other people. In The Waste
Land in The Burial of the Dead , Marie was frightened when her cousin insisted on taking her on a
sled out in the snow and sliding down the hills (Elliot 5). In No Exit Garcin who was the first

Psychological Impact On Public Consciousness
INTRODUCTION
Psychological operations are successfully used to influence the public consciousness, the economy,
and the military operations.
THE PUBLIC CONSCIOUSNESS
Nowadays psychological operations are becoming an effective tool in both foreign and domestic
policy. They are widely used in the sphere of international relations to ensure the voluntary
submission of opponents, to promote the activities of supporters, and to maintain a high level of
motivation among allies. One of the most important elements of these actions is the informational
and psychological impact on public consciousness. During the Gulf WarPSYOPS effectively used
to influence on public consciousness of international community and local populations.
Before entering the war against Iraq in 1990, for multinational forces was necessary to explain the
causes of the war to the international community. Multinational forces had to clarify to the world
all reasons like: the restoration of Kuwait s lost independence (in August 1990, Iraqi troops
occupied Kuwait); Protection of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Oman against
possible aggression by Iraq; Protection of the freedom of global navigation in the Persian Gulf;
Protection of the trampled rights of Kurds and Shiites in Iraq. With using global information

against Iraq. At the same time attempts by Iraq to find the support of other countries have

Psychological Aspects Of Sexually Abused Women And The...
Introduction The topic of this article will focus on psychological aspects of sexually abused
women and the trauma recovery and empowerment. Sexual abuse can be well defined as sexual
assaults and sexual exploitation of the individual, which include the following: Rape, Incest,
Molestation and Voyeurism. An assortment of 15 empirical studies will compare and contrast
their findings of psychological sexual abuse and trauma recovery. Individuals that are victims of
sexual abuse can undergo many issues for the victim to inflict upon. Despite the fact that sexual
abuse does mark males, women are at a higher rate to be sexually abused. In fact, one out of three
females is a victim of sexual abuse (SA) or sexual violence (SV). 13% of women and 6% of men
have reported they experienced sexual cohesion in their lifetime (Sexual Violence, 2014). Sexual
abuse not merely leaves a victim with lengthily problems but also a lifetime of psychological
difficulties when treatment is not sought after. Research further suggests that certain characteristics
of the abusive experience father daughter incest, physical force and level of sexual activity tend to
be associated with a more negative long term outcome in women (Coffey, 1996). Sexual abuse may
stint from early childhood that has continued to surface in adulthood or a specific incident that
occurred in adulthood. Either way the psychological aspect of abuse can be a vast amount of
emotional and mental disorders. For example, the

decades. As mentioned earlier, the study conducted by Tavakoli and Riachi (1990) results from

planning and scheduling projects. The first steps in building the CPM technique is the activity list.
Activity is defined as task that consumes time and other resources (******) and contributes to the

the size of the project. Example of activity is ****** Activity is shown by arrow to a node (figure

Why Great Men Do Not Become President Essay
Why Great Men Do Not Become President
Over the course of history America has been electing the most popular not necessarily the best
qualified men as president. The office has become a strategic component vital to each political
party. Parties sacrifice a great leader for the man that will win the most votes. History is a record of
how we have always had had this practice. The office is full of corruption because money and
influence run the presidency. The political leaders lie to the people that he is intended to serve.
There are many overwhelming reasons that the best man is not always chosen for the job. They all
inevitably stem down to the simple fact that a political party in order for its survival must have their

Towards the end of an election, presidential candidates become more of a brand name then a person.

a HBO documentary I was able to get a glimpse that majority of Americans never get to see. It was
the truth behind the man that is the president. The independent documentary shows Bush running
down the street choreographed with news crews to run at the right pace, then turns the corner and
gets into a waiting Lincoln navigator. This is to help his image. People do not want to elect an out
of shape president. Physical ability is something on the minds of all
Americans. Seeing the candidate take a jog down the street helps them secure the image of fitness
with the candidate making it more likely people with the same views will vote for him.

Everything Teams need a LEADER, our perspective is that this is THE chief part of the one
ordinarily alluded to as the Venture Manager . We should on the other hand, keep on alluding to
the primary task administration part as the Project Manager. Many organizations and sponsors set
their activities up to fizzle on the grounds that they don t completely perceive how imperative the
task administration part is, to effectively deal with an undertaking through its life cycle. It is still
basic that venture directors are delegated on low maintenance premise, the suspicion being they
can deal with the undertaking on low maintenance premise as a stretch to their other regular
obligations and obligations. Differences between both views Firstly, there is no difference between

A Separate Peace Analysis
A Separate Peace by John Knowles follow the late high school experience of two high school
boys, Gene Forrester and his best friend Phineas, in the midst of WWII. This coming of age
novel explores the impact of WWII on those who were aware of the war, yet not fully involved
in it. While the war affects all those in the school, its effects are most visible in the mind of
Gene. Much of the actions of the main characters can be described in a quote by Eric Burdon, that
Inside each of us, there is a seed of both good and evil. It s a constant struggle as to which one will
win. And one cannot exist without the other . Gene s fluctuations between friend and foe, as well
as Phineas disposition and untimely death both reflect the ideas of the quote, and while the actions
of other main characters do not necessarily conform to the same standards, the quote accurately
reflects the novel.
In A Separate Peacenowhere is the struggle between good and evil more obvious than it is in Gene
Forrester, as he switches between antagonism and friendliness throughout the novel. This conflict
within is displayed when Gene visits Finny to admit his guilt, telling him I jounced the limb. I
caused it.... I deliberately jounced the limb so that you would fall off (70). This display of honesty
and friendship is tainted by the realization that Gene tried, and succeeded, in harming his friend.
While Gene at some points wants to hate Finny, he likes him too much to ever truly give up on him,

Corpse Bride Symbolism
The character that really caught my attention was Emily. Considering the fact she has been dead
for year now Burton did a splendid job creating a mysteriously alluring corpse bride. Relating
death to the color blue because blue is the coldest color, Emily is blue from head to toe except
for her subtle but sweet pink lips. Corpse Bride had me at the maggot. In multiple scenes the
corpse bride s eye falls out and a maggot comes from inside her head and gives her advice. I feel
the eye falling out is to symbolize Emily being half blind to what s going on around her. The fact
that Burton can use stop motion and have an eyeball fall from Emily s face is pure magic. Based
on true events dating back to the 19th century about gangs that would snag

NRVNA Essay
Review 20 NRVNA Review About NRVNA NRVNA is one of the latest online slots released by
NetEnt, and it certainly looks to foot the bill for anyone after something different. NRVNA
pronounced Nirvana comes with an uplifting theme players are sure to love. With 5 reels and 30
adjustable paylines, NRVNA offers something unique that could very well be another flagship
for the NetEnt brand. The reality is that every big time developer needs to keep making high end
slot games to remain atop the pile as it were. This is because if they don t other industry names
can make up ground and really pull away the punters. For this very reason, flagship games are
absolutely crucial to a developer s success story. NetEnt has put plenty of stock... Show more

The biggest and best special feature is no doubt the NRVNA Wheel. When you reach the end of
your free spins, the wheel appears and starts to spin. The NRVNA Wheel has two main
components; the inner wheel filled with multipliers, and the outer reel that determines the
number of free slots. Betting and Wagering Limits NRVNA comes with a jackpot of 2,000
coins; which is yours if you can land five of the cherry symbols on an active payline. With the
help of some free spins and multipliers, you can make the most out of the game and win a
potential mega jackpot of 966,000 coins. That s one impressive jackpot to say the least, with
this going a long way to blow away what all competing online slots game has to offer. How to
Play NRVNA If you want to know how to play NRVNA then you have to start by choosing the
size of your bet in coins. There is a minimum of 0.01 and a maximum of 0.50. Players can choose
how many paylines they want to bet on from just a single payline up to all 30. This gives you a
total maximum bet of 150. After placing your bet, just press the spin button and watch as the
reels turn. There is also an autoplay feature for those who want the reels to spin themselves.
When you look at the betting options within this game, NetEnt have worked really hard to make
sure every base is covered. Those who want to bet small and take it easy can do, but those that want
to bet big and hit the reels hard can do so as well. NRVNA Final Verdict Flagship games are a

Gender Trouble By Judith Butler
INTRO
Judith Butler, the author of Gender Trouble (1990), is an American philosopher who was born in
Cleveland, Ohio, in 1956.
A feminist (that is, a participant in the cultural, political, and theoretical currents surrounding the
advocacy of the rights of women), she has published more than a dozen books and has been active
in debates ranging from lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transsexual rights to Middle Eastern politics.
She works on identity issues and prejudice against minorities, having personal experience of both.
Her mother lost her Hungarian family in the Nazi Holocaust during World War II, and, as a lesbian,
Butler has herself experienced discrimination. She has spoken about the difficulty of coming out as
a teenager and about the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Butler intervened in these debates by questioning the very idea of stable gender identity.
THE ANSWER
No political revolution is possible without a radical shift in one s notion of the possible and the real.
Judith Butler, Gender Trouble: Feminism and the Subversion of Identity
Judith Butler argues that gender becomes ВґrealВґ by a person unconsciously acting in ways that
are accepted to be masculine or feminine and that even biological sex is a product of culture.
Gender is imposed through patterns of thought in the society, but history shows that identities have
changed over time, then it is impossible to say that they are fixed and eternal.
Gender Trouble is an original and radical text that employs for political ends the analytical methods
of poststructuralist theory (and its challenge to categories and ideas of objective truth).
IDEAS
Because there is neither an essence that gender expresses or externalizes nor an objective ideal to
which gender aspires, and because gender is not a fact, the various acts of gender create the idea of
gender, and without those acts, there would be no gender at

2011). At the same time, companies are seeking to better understand the extent to which social
media can and should play a role in customer engagement (Parent, Plangger, and Bal 2011).
Our knowledge regarding social media driven brand consumer engagement and what constitutes
effective social media strategy is only now developing. Although both industry and academic
research has begun to examine the role of social media within firm customer interactions, there is
a continued need for empirical investigation of usage characteristics and behaviors with respect to
social media and online brand engagement, particularly among younger consumers. Accordingly,
our study investigates the role of social media among younger consumers as they actively engage
online with brands spanning the product, service, and media sectors. We administered a written
diary to fifty eight individuals over a one week period in late Fall 2011. Diary data captured
background information on social media usage and recorded 406 discrete company respondent
interactions across two primary social media platforms Facebook and Twitter as well as email.
Email interactions were included in the study because this form of contact is part of the electronic
ecosystem connecting consumers and businesses and is complementary to social media usage.
Our study makes two contributions to the growing body of social media marketing research. First,
we uncover several themes characterizing online brand consumer

  • 2. Cancer Caregiver Support Groups Caregiver support groups play a valuable role in assisting individuals with coping with a loved one s disease, injury and/or disorder. In this paper, I will discuss the support group, topics discussed and my personal feelings about the support group. To begin, on March 19, 2016, I attended a cancer caregiver support group facilitated by Peggy Morehouse, a social worker. The group began with each group member sharing, in a circle, updates and challenges of the family members diagnosed with cancer in a circle. The group was an informal model lead by group members. The informal model allowed members to offer empathy, support, referrals and insight as needed, rather than be forced to cover specific topics. Next, the group covered many different ... Several zoos that we go to nowadays with our families are not only there for the sightseeing of the animals, but they are they re for their safety. The caretakers of the zoos and the animal care staff always make sure that the animals are always well looked after and feel as close to their natural habitat and home as possible. The safe environment of the zoo increases life expectancy of endangered animals. As said by naturalist Kate Sheridan from Quora.com that animals live longer in zoos because they are removed from the food change and from natural hazards. The animals health and diet is monitored carefully so if anything is wrong with the animals , the zoo veterinarians know what to do and how to heal the animal. Several species have been protected and reintroduced by zoos. A study by Ariel Woodruff on Uproxx.com lists many animals who were saved by zoos. Here are a few endangered species who were protected by zoological parks; the Red Wolf was placed on the list of most endangered animals in 1969. With fewer and fewer wolves left , The Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium and the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service took action by working on four of the Red Wolves left in the world. By 1980 the scientists of the The Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium and U.S Fish and Wildlife Service declared that the breed was extinct but then in 1987 the Red Wolf was revived . Now there are more than 100 Red Wolves in the world. In the same study by Ariel Woodruff , the California Condor was placed in the near to extinction list in the early 1980 s with only 23 birds streaming in the skies. ... The poem, God s Grandeur by Gerard Manley Hopkins is an Italian sonnet, which closely follows the traditional Italian rhyme of ABBAABBA, and then CDCDCD. (Shmoop) There are also several words throughout the poem that rhyme within themselves. For example God, rod, trod, shod all rhyme. Gerard Hopkins liked to use sprung rhythmin which the stressed and unstressed syllables have a complicated relationship, and the message desired from the reader can change the rhythm. (Shmoop) Sprung rhythm allows each person to read the poem differently and take away what they wish. The speaker of this poem has lost faith in humanity and their treatment of the world God had granted us. However, in the second half of the poem, the speaker shows his views of the world and its connection to God. In the first stanza of God s Grandeur, the speaker is amazed at the greatness of God. However, he is dismayed by the way people treat God s creation. God himself directed humans to care for their world. Genesis 2:15 says, The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. (Genesis) Mankind s treatment of the Earth obviously did not measure up to the standard that the speaker has envisioned. This is clearly visible in lines four through seven, Why do men then now not reck his rod? Generations have trod, have trod, have trod; and all is seared with trade; bleared, smeared with toil; and wears man s smudge and shares man s smell. (God s) The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A lot of these events happened outside of school, but there are many events that still happened in school that changed me as well. The reason I call this an event that is still ongoing is because realizing reality and all that it ahs to give is seen through multiple personal events. One of those events that is ongoing for me is making and meeting new friends. The way that this has changed me is that when you make new friends you begin to develop a kind of sense where you know if the are a real friend or not, which can change someone like it has to me, because if they are not a real friend and you rely on them just for them to let you down it can... • 21. Questions On Issues Of Abortion Wallace 1 Blayk Wallace Ms Blevins Period 3 English 12 Issues of Abortion Abortion has became a big issue in not just the US but in pretty much everywhere else around the globe. To some people it is a sin to do but to others they might have a good reason to go through it but it can be just an easy way out of going through pregnancy and raising a child. Abortion should only be legal under certain circumstances by applying equality amongst the fetus and the mother without giving more rights to either for example if the mother was raped ,while possibly being underage as well, if something is wrong with her like if she was in danger of dying , or if something is wrong with the fetus like a sever disease then the mother should have a saying if she wants to have an abortion but if none of those reasons apply then the woman should go through the pregnancy if it doesn t harm her. The main problem with abortion is the fact that it has to do with a person s life being taken away. Also there is religious reasons and religious people that are concerned with the issue because a lot of religions do not comply with abortion being legal. sometimes women do not want to have a or the child because they just don t care or want to deal with the pressure of taking care or going through the pregnancy and maybe being

  • 23. Andrew Marvell, “to His Coy Mistress” Andrew Marvell, To His Coy Mistress In To His Coy Mistress the speaker carefully constructs a subtle and logical argument as to why his addressee should sexually unite with him. The speaker attempts this proposition through finesse in manipulating reason, form and imagery. The reasoning employed would be familiar to a reader educated in Renaissance England, as it is reminiscent of classical philosophical logic, entailing a statement, a counter statement and a resolution. In line with this method Marvell s speaker codes his argument in classical imagery. To understand this argument I will be approaching the poem in three clearly defined sections, which are denoted in the poem with indented lines. The first of these section... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The next section runs from lines 21 to 32, here the speaker moves away from the hypothetical to reality but retains the melodramatic language used in the previous section to sustain the tenacity of his points. Time here is portrayed as chasing the speaker as opposed to being something the speaker is in control of as in the end of the last section. This is done using the image of a winged chariot (l.22), this has classical associations with Greek mythology which relates to his form of argument. The meter of the poem is restrictively regular, this structure emphasises the idea that time is constantly progressing; reflecting the speaker s argument. Space is no longer inhabited by images of movement and life like the rivers previously mentioned but instead: before us lie / Deserts of vast eternity (ll. 23 4). The desert has strong connotations with deathliness, an issue that the speaker gruesomely develops upon and progresses within this section. The speaker implies on lines 26 7 that the only exploration of the mistress s body that will be undertaken will be by the worms that are decomposing her body if she remains in her coy state. This thought that her sexuality should not be wasted is elaborated upon with a crude pun on line 29: And your quaint honor turn to dust which, as the Norton Anthology of Poetry explains in the footnote, is a play on the Middle English noun queynte which means female genitals. • 24. Literary Criticism Of Rusalka A masterpiece of operatic literature, AntonГn DvoЕ™ГЎk s Rusalka steadily rises to international recognition and popularity. With its lush melodies, beautiful orchestration, and poetic text, Rusalka continues to transcend the idea that it exists strictly as a Czech opera unable to be understood by foreign audiences. Though it remains the only of DvoЕ™ГЎk s operas to receive international fame (and is arguably the greatest), the romanticism and universal appeal of the story aide in securing a place for DvoЕ™ГЎk in history as not only a great orchestral composer, but also a gifted composer of opera. Rusalka tells the story of a water nymph (Rusalka) who falls passionately in lovewith a humanprince. She makes a deal with a witch to become a human herself, so that she might experience love. However, this compromise comes at a price. First, Rusalka will not be able to use her voice to communicate with humans. Second, if she fails to win the Prince s affections, she will be pulled back by the water, forever cursed to exist as a bludiДЌka, or will o the wisp, a soulless light moving erratically over the water and luring men to their deaths in the swamps. Though Rusalka is initially successful in winning the Prince s love, he grows increasingly frustrated with her inability to speak to him and is seduced by a foreign princess. Rusalka, betrayed, returns to the water to accept her fate. As Rusalka laments her fate, the witch returns with a knife to tell her she can avoid a soulless ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 26. Effect Of Advertising On Children Essay Effect of Advertising on Children Advertising is something that everyone sees, whether that be driving down the road, listening to the radio, or watching television everyone is bound to see some. Children growing up today cannot go a day without checking Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. These children are always on their phones or watching television so they see these advertisements hundreds of times a month. When watching television, it is impossible not to see an advertisement about sugary or fast food, alcohol, or sexual advertisements which are all affecting today s children and adolescents. Although most of these advertisements are focused towards adults, they hit children and adolescents the hardest. In late April of 2011 the New York times published a story about the use of cartoon characters in the commercials of cereal brands. In this article, they speak about the Federal Trade Commission enacting new rules on big name cereal brands such as Fruit Loops. The guidelines released by the Federal Trade Commission included television and print ads, Web sites, online games disguised as camouflaged advertisements, social media, product placement in movies, the use of movie characters in cross promotions and fast food children s meals (Neuman). • 27. Mobile Communication Is Multi Hop Ad Hoc Systems INTRODUCTION: The Latest advances in Wireless Communications have extended conceivable applications from straightforward voice services in early cell systems to new incorporated information applications. These days, numerous up to date cellular telephones are likewise incorporated with functionalities including FM radio, advanced camera, and MP3 player. Hence, the services upheld by mobile communications have extended from basic voice to sight and sound, for example, video conferencing and portable gaming. These new services require a higher service quality and also more prominent information rate. Moreover, with mobile access to the Internet, the expanding development in information movement will further drive the requirement for higher data transmission. Current foundations that bolster mostly voice activity are confronting an incredible test in meeting both the transmission capacity and quality of service requests of future mobile communication clients. For mobile communication, one concept with successful improvement is customary single hop cell frameworks where a mobile station (MS) speaks specifically with a base station (BS) [1]. Another idea of mobile communication is multi hop ad hoc systems, which are infrastructure less, self sorting out and quickly deployable with no site arranging, dissimilar to traditional cell systems. • 28. Foucault and Nietzsche on Knowledge The concept of power should be considered with greater attention because it shows a path to which Foucault adheres, to an extent, but not to the discharge of other pathways that contradict it. In fact, productive power comes from Foucault s idea that contradictory vision disables power against a self governing subject and does not understand the connection of power and its subject. What is more important, is that Foucault makes a rational connection between knowledge and power, stating that power relations are predicated on knowledge, but the latter does not imply power relations. Nonetheless, the denial of independent knowledge is associated with the independent individuality, which means that power and knowledge are combined to deliver a form of subjectivity. A psychological identity relates to a persons self image and needs to be revealed by delivering an idea that defines modern outlooks on individual. The human sciences develop different aspects of individuality and identity and, therefore, they are based on the assumption that science is a reflection of power relations leading to knowledge expansion. According to John McGowan, in The Problem of Freedom in Postmodern Theory, knowledge, power, and the subject are shown to be intimately related to one another within a single productive process (p. 129). In this instance, it could be stated that power is considered to be the major source of knowledge and subject. The connection between knowledge and power creates the ... Uber Technologies Former CEO Travis Kalanick had been very vocal about his political positions. Kalanick, as well as other technology CEO s, joined Donald Trumps business advisory council as a way for their company to have a relationship with the Republican Party as well as with the White House. However, Kalanick defended his decision to show support for Donald Trump as well as ignoring the taxi strike in saying, We ll partner with anyone in the world as long as they re about making transportation in cities better, creating job opportunities, making it easier to get around, getting pollution out of the air and traffic off the streets (Fiegerman, 2017). Many did not respect the decision to ignore the taxi strike as customers believed that Uber should have shown their support. Kalanick s decision to cross picket lines caused customers to protest by chaining themselves to the main entrance of their office building. The internal and external pressures resulting from Kalanick s decisions led to his resignation from the business advisory council, explaining that, joining the group was not meant to be an endorsement of the President or his agenda but unfortunately it has been misinterpreted to be exactly that (Romm, 2017). Three sources entitled, Rising above the Gathering Storm, Innovative America, and Tapping America s Potential argue that if Americans do not improve in the STEM field our economy will suffer, so will our exports, and will heavily impact America. If we do not improve then the standard of living may fall and so will our economy. The three reports talk about using more innovation and technology, if we do this then our economy will be stable. The proponents argue that we need to close achievement gaps, improve the quality of teachers, increase labor supply, improve our international ranking, and issue more H 1B visas. Workers in the STEM field think that their employers are replacing them because the H 1B foreign workersare cheaper. Although, critics argue that the STEM movement is sabotaging other countries so, America can be ahead. But, for the US to be ahead in innovation and STEM education, we need to issue more H 1B visas. The H 1b program is for guest workers from different countries. The critics argue that these H 1B visas are popular because companies want to obtain workers at a lower cost than American workers.. In other parts of the world, where prostitution is legal, sex workers face less violence and therefore feel less fear about working in their industry. After receiving national attention for his masterpiece, Salinger became somewhat of a hermit and led a reclusive life. For a reserved individual, such as J.D. Salinger, what more suitable way is there to illustrate his own life experiences than a tale of a teenager who entices the reader through his unique view of the world? Without a doubt, there are multiple parallels that can be drawn between the lives of Holden and the author himself. In his younger days, J.D. Salinger attended multiple public schools in Manhattan until his parents decided to enroll him at the McBurney School, an exclusive private school for ninth and tenth graders. J.D. would flunk out of this school just as Holden had flunked out of Pencey. According to Holden, there were A million reasons why. It was one of the worst schools I ever went to. It was full of phonies. And mean guys. You never saw so many mean guys in your life. (167). Even though the circumstances of Holden s and Salinger s unceremonious exits from Pencey and McBurney respectively, were eerily similar, the school that Salinger would be sent to the next and eventually graduate from Valley Forge Military Academy would become the blueprint for Pencey Prep as it appeared in The Catcher in the Rye. The office has become a strategic component vital to each political party. Parties sacrifice a great leader for the man that will win the most votes. History is a record of how we have always had had this practice. The office is full of corruption because money and influence run the presidency. The political leaders lie to the people that he is intended to serve. There are many overwhelming reasons that the best man is not always chosen for the job. They all inevitably stem down to the simple fact that a political party in order for its survival must have their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Location, religion, and political goals for the people are the most common deciding factors. Some of the other techniques were more obvious in an example of serving in the Union Army greatly increased your chances at becoming president. Simply being a Union soldier should not be a major factor in determining a great leader but in the court of public opinion it is kind of prerequisite in the elections after the Civil War. The term giving for this was Waving the bloody shirt. Grant was elected after Civil War because of his role as the leading general of Union forces. Towards the end of an election, presidential candidates become more of a brand name then a person. In the most recent election, Bush and Gore both put on equally entertaining shows. While watching a HBO documentary I was able to get a glimpse that majority of Americans never get to see. It was the truth behind the man that is the president. The independent documentary shows Bush running down the street choreographed with news crews to run at the right pace, then turns the corner and gets into a waiting Lincoln navigator. This is to help his image. People do not want to elect an out of shape president. Physical ability is something on the minds of all Americans. Seeing the candidate take a jog down the street helps them secure the image of fitness with the candidate making it more likely people with the same views will vote for him. The colorful posters sporting the slogan like Vote ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. A Separate Peace Analysis A Separate Peace by John Knowles follow the late high school experience of two high school boys, Gene Forrester and his best friend Phineas, in the midst of WWII. This coming of age novel explores the impact of WWII on those who were aware of the war, yet not fully involved in it. While the war affects all those in the school, its effects are most visible in the mind of Gene. Much of the actions of the main characters can be described in a quote by Eric Burdon, that Inside each of us, there is a seed of both good and evil. It s a constant struggle as to which one will win. And one cannot exist without the other . Gene s fluctuations between friend and foe, as well as Phineas disposition and untimely death both reflect the ideas of the quote, and while the actions of other main characters do not necessarily conform to the same standards, the quote accurately reflects the novel. In A Separate Peacenowhere is the struggle between good and evil more obvious than it is in Gene Forrester, as he switches between antagonism and friendliness throughout the novel. This conflict within is displayed when Gene visits Finny to admit his guilt, telling him I jounced the limb. I caused it.... I deliberately jounced the limb so that you would fall off (70). This display of honesty and friendship is tainted by the realization that Gene tried, and succeeded, in harming his friend. While Gene at some points wants to hate Finny, he likes him too much to ever truly give up on him, showing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 48. Corpse Bride Symbolism The character that really caught my attention was Emily. Considering the fact she has been dead for year now Burton did a splendid job creating a mysteriously alluring corpse bride. Relating death to the color blue because blue is the coldest color, Emily is blue from head to toe except for her subtle but sweet pink lips. Corpse Bride had me at the maggot. In multiple scenes the corpse bride s eye falls out and a maggot comes from inside her head and gives her advice. I feel the eye falling out is to symbolize Emily being half blind to what s going on around her. The fact that Burton can use stop motion and have an eyeball fall from Emily s face is pure magic. • 50. Gender Trouble By Judith Butler INTRO Judith Butler, the author of Gender Trouble (1990), is an American philosopher who was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1956. A feminist (that is, a participant in the cultural, political, and theoretical currents surrounding the advocacy of the rights of women), she has published more than a dozen books and has been active in debates ranging from lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transsexual rights to Middle Eastern politics. She works on identity issues and prejudice against minorities, having personal experience of both. Her mother lost her Hungarian family in the Nazi Holocaust during World War II, and, as a lesbian, Butler has herself experienced discrimination. She has spoken about the difficulty of coming out as a teenager and about the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Butler intervened in these debates by questioning the very idea of stable gender identity. THE ANSWER No political revolution is possible without a radical shift in one s notion of the possible and the real. Judith Butler, Gender Trouble: Feminism and the Subversion of Identity Judith Butler argues that gender becomes ВґrealВґ by a person unconsciously acting in ways that are accepted to be masculine or feminine and that even biological sex is a product of culture. Gender is imposed through patterns of thought in the society, but history shows that identities have changed over time, then it is impossible to say that they are fixed and eternal. Gender Trouble is an original and radical text that employs for political ends the analytical methods of poststructuralist theory (and its challenge to categories and ideas of objective truth). IDEAS Because there is neither an essence that gender expresses or externalizes nor an objective ideal to which gender aspires, and because gender is not a fact, the various acts of gender create the idea of gender, and without those acts, there would be no gender at ... At the same time, companies are seeking to better understand the extent to which social media can and should play a role in customer engagement (Parent, Plangger, and Bal 2011). Our knowledge regarding social media driven brand consumer engagement and what constitutes effective social media strategy is only now developing. Although both industry and academic research has begun to examine the role of social media within firm customer interactions, there is a continued need for empirical investigation of usage characteristics and behaviors with respect to social media and online brand engagement, particularly among younger consumers. Accordingly, our study investigates the role of social media among younger consumers as they actively engage online with brands spanning the product, service, and media sectors. We administered a written diary to fifty eight individuals over a one week period in late Fall 2011. Diary data captured background information on social media usage and recorded 406 discrete company respondent interactions across two primary social media platforms Facebook and Twitter as well as email. Email interactions were included in the study because this form of contact is part of the electronic ecosystem connecting consumers and businesses and is complementary to social media usage. Our study makes two contributions to the growing body of social media marketing research. First, we uncover several themes characterizing online brand consumer ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
