The Widespread Adoption Of Information Technology Essay
The widespread adoption of information technology (IT) has resulted in significant savings in health
care costs as well as improved patient health and safety. Today in healthcare facilities, databases store
records that can be accessed from anywhere in the world. This results in better data coordination and
management (Banova, 2013). The benefits of increased use of IT continues to grow as leaders in the
field of medicine create innovative ways to use IT to improve the business and health care side of
medicine. IT has increased the efficiency and decreased the cost of doing business. This leads to
dollars and an increase in overall patient quality which is critical with the changes in the
reimbursement models from CMS ( Benefits of Healthcare , 2015).
The city of San Diego as the need and push for IT implementation has grown made a large technology
investment and created a health information exchange (HIE). San Diego Health Connect began in
efforts to improve healthcare in the San Diego community spearheaded by the University of
California. In April 2010, UC San Diego received a grant from the Office of the National Coordinator
for Health Information Technology (ONC) on behalf of the community. They named this the Beacon
community. The HIE is a vast network of healthcare providers and social services ( San Diego Health
Connect , 2015).
The HIE quickly grew membership and the participation of the major health systems in San Diego and
members continue to grow today. In early

A Report On Uav Traffic Safety
Abstract The purpose of this paper is to review some UAV traffic concerns. UAV traffic is increasing
tremendously over the past decade. There have been a number of mid air collisions with UAVs
crashing into commercial aircraft or into each other. They are big enough to cause more engine foreign
object damage than a bird strike. This is because they are made of stronger material and plus they have
batteries on board that can cause severe damage to aircraft. Air traffic controllers need to know how
many UAVs are operating in their area of responsibility and know exactly where they are. The FAA
has adapted to the some of the new UAV laws, but this paper will show where they are lacking some
rules and regulations involving UAV traffic.
Introduction This paper is going to demonstrate the importance of UAV traffic control. It will review
some previous mid air collisions with both UAVs colliding with each other and with commercial
aircraft. It will include some of the causes like lack of technology to detect UAVs and other aircraft,
air traffic controller centers lacking technology, and the FAA lacking rules and regulations addressing
the UAV population increases. The technology has to communicate back and forth from the UAV to
the operator and back. This can become a problem because of hacking threats. The main concern of
this paper is to propose an efficient and secure air traffic control of UAVs.
In the article Secure routing in UAV , the three

A Short Note On Maximal Oxygen Consumption ( Vo2max )
Introduction Maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max), the highest recorded rate of oxygen
consumption during a graded and exhaustive exercise test, is a top indicator of cardio pulmonary
endurance in humans and is believed to correlate with overall health (Strijk, Proper, Klaver, Beek,
Mechelen, 2010). VO2max of an individual declines with age regardless of exercise status, but
exercise may lead to a significantly slower decline in VO2max during the aging process (Katzel,
Sorkin, Fleg, 2001) Many factors related to aging such as decrease of maximal heart rate, stroke
volume, the gain of body mass, decreased muscle mass, and decreased health status are thought to be
the primary contributing factors leading to a decline in VO2max (Grimsmo, Arnesen, Maehlum,
2010). Individuals that have decreased their physical activity levels or developed health problems had
a greater decline in VO2max values, over a longitudinal study, than their healthy counterparts
(Grimsmo et al., 2010). Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) affects individuals by causing
airflow restriction, impairing their exercise capacity (Ortega, Montemayor, Sanchez, Cabello, 1995). A
VO2max test has the ability to help identify COPD that may not have been apparent prior to this test
and can indicate the severity of the disease (Ortega et al, 1995). One metabolic equivalent of task
(MET) is the amount of energy used to sit in a chair for one minute which is equivalent to a VO2max
value of 3.5ml/kg/min

The Excitement of Gaming Turned into an Addiction
Change is the alteration which results in an important shift in the way we perceive and interact with
the world. It is the process of being reformed in appearance or turned into something or someone new.
The concept of change is very significant as it gives us new experiences whether positive or negative.
Being the best student was something I never had to worry or wish for due to my devotions towards
studies. It was the third time I got awarded as one of the best students in high school. My dad bought
me a brand new play station 3 as a gift of acknowledgment towards my good performance in school.
Video game became one of my favorite hobbies. I developed the interest in gaming and spent most of

to give me some opportunities to acknowledge my conduct, My room looked cleaned. Now was the
time to invite friends over to my house. My parents never wanted me to invite any friend to the house
because of how miserable the house always looked like. During my week of change, I was giving the
opportunity to invite friends over if I wish. On the 4th day, I invited my two best friends: Williams and
mike. For the past 2 week, we never heard from each other and never got worried about contacting.
Mike and William came over to my house and we all went to the recreational center to have fun. We
did a lot of exercise and played basketball. Since the day 4, we took it a practice to always visit the
recreational center. This also promoted my health and built my friendship.
As I carried on with the change, I never taught much about video games. I found more interest in
hanging out with my family all the time. I used to go to the cinema every Saturday with my family
until I had my play station. My family will go to the cinema whilst I also spend time with my play

cinema. That night was fun as I realized the ecstasy in hanging out with family.

Risks of PSA Testing Essay
PSA test results are interpreted as: 0 4 ng/mL is normal. Between 4 to 10 ng/ML is 25% of developing
cancer, and 10 ng/ml is a 50% risk of cancer. However, some men with normal PSA levels still have
prostate cancer, while other men with high PSA levels do not. PSA levels increase with age often due
to a higher prevalence of benign prostate hypertrophy (BPH). Therefore, no PSA cutoff can accurately
guarantee that a man does not have prostate cancer. PSA blood levels are used for several different
purposes such as to diagnose prostate cancer, evaluate treatment of prostate cancer, and to evaluate the
severity of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Currently there is no way to determine between
prostate cancers that is aggressive verse ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The ACS guidelines also recommend screening men who are at high risk as early as 40 years of age

USPSTF advises against PCa screening concluding there is moderate certainty that the benefits of
such screening do not outweigh the harms (Quaseem et al., 2013).
In the case for PSA screening, PCa is the leading internal malignancy in US men and the second
leading cause of cancer death in American men. Early detection of prostate cancers offers the best
chance of cure. The PSA blood test is the best chance of cure. Currently, the PSA blood test is the best
currently available way to detect PCa and it is easy, safe and inexpensive. PSA test results is a piece of
information, it is what doctors do with the information that becomes the issue. However, the great
majority of PSA detected tumors have the histologic characteristics of clinically important cancers.
Also, PSA detection has found tumors early advancing the diagnosis by Seeral years (5 13) and
prostate cancer mortality rates in U.S have decreased by 4% (patho book) since 1992, which is 5 years
after initiation of prostate screenings. The dilemma is over treating the clinically unimportant disease

Privacy Issues In Internet Of Things
The Internet of Things is one of the fastest growing parts of information technology. With the rapid
increase in Internet of Things device around the world it has become a problem with securing one s
privacy, Internet of things range from a typical smart phone to a smart air conditioner or a pacemaker.
Because of these simple devices one can overlook the security and vulnerability of these devices such
as their privacy concerns. You ever feel like you re being watch, or that your smart phone may know
you to well, or how your device apps seem to somehow know which ads to post of material items you
been searching. These are just a few privacy issues that still remain unresolved. With the growing
issue of privacy in Internet of Things there are methods and designs being developed to help ease one
s concerns, I will provide two methods to help resolve the privacy issue with the dummy location
generator, that is an algorithm developed that will help lower the user probability of having their
location revealed. Another method is the privacy by design which is the process of which it uses the
consideration the user s privacy issues that should be used from the beginning of the design
throughout the whole design process.
The Internet of Things is one of the fastest growing technologies in the world, there are an estimated
15.4 billion devices as of 2015 and that number is expected to double by 2020 to 30.7 billion devices
and grow to 75.4 billion in 2025. Internet of

Once The Wart Character Analysis
The Wart walked up to the great sword for the third time. He put out his right arm softly and drew it
out as gently from a scabbard. (198). The Wart, a nickname for soon to be King Arthur was a modest,
curious, young boy who was into adventure. Once the Wart was crowned king, he was named King
Arthur. King Arthur grew from a timid boy to become a strong ruler with the help of his tutor Merlyn.
The theme of might and right that recurred several times was based on Arthur. The Wart was always
good hearted both young and old, but when he pulled the sword from the stone he had to apply all his
lessons and morals to his rule. T.H. White uses might and right to prove that Arthur is exceptional for
his devotion and belief in Merlyn s ideas. Instead, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Arthur is a successful king, because he worked hard to understand Merlyn s morals and apply it to his
own system of governance. In order to obtain great power like Arthur did, you need might. Arthur
utters his explanation through a few words saying, Why can t you harness Might so that it works for
right? I know it sounds nonsense, but, I mean, you can t just say there is no such thing. The Might is
there, in the bad half of people, and you can t neglect it. You can t cut it out, but you might be able to
direct it, if you see what I mean, so that it was useful instead of bad. (241). This quote shows that T.H.
White proves force to equal justice and that Arthur can make a seperation between power and justice.
Arthur is remembered for his image of a civilized society, and not for his role on the battlefield. He
notices the good and bad of common people and allows them to equal each other out. For example,
under King Arthur s rule, Knights are allowed to fight for a reason, but not for pity fun. Arthur uses
Merlyn s knowledge from the lessons and turning into multiple creatures to maintain a just political
system with a progressive civilization. All of his encounters with the warlike ants and the wise badger
taught him to find might equals right. He grew to believe in doing what is right and that everything in
his society is considered right. His success

Game Theory as it Relates to Abortion in Canada
Flanagan s Status Quo
In 1988 abortion legislation was abolished by the supreme court of Canada (Flanagan 120). Current
law was deemed to violate a women s security of person under the Canadian Charter of Rights and
Freedoms (Wikipedia). Drafting and passing abortion legislation became the responsibility of the
current Prime Minister and the House of Commons (Flanagan 121). Attempts by Brian Mulroney to
introduce abortion legislation into the House of Commons and senate failed repeatedly (Flanagan
121). ) Despite public opinion favoring moderate legislation, abortion in Canada remains unlegislated
(Flanagan 121).Under the circumstances stated why does Canadian abortion law remain in a state of
limbo?

The Members of Parliament could now be categorized according to their opinions. Flanagan analyzed
this data by placing the MP s into seven groups:
1. 40 Resolute Pro choice who wanted to maintain the status quo
2. 12 Pro choice compromisers who voted for amendments one and five
3. 17 Pro choice leaning moderates who voted for amendments one, five and the government
resolution
4. 38 moderates who voted for the government resolution
5. 12 Pro life leaning moderates who supported the government resolution plus amendment two
6. 9 Pro life compromisers who voted for amendment three and the government resolution
7. 96 Resolute pro lifers who voted for amendment two and/or three and against the government
resolution. (Flanagan 127)
A strange phenomenon had occurred: the ninety six pro lifer s voted against the government resolution
in the final vote and by default supported the status quo a seemingly pro choice option. Flanagan
mentions that the expected outcome would be for the majority to coalesce around the position of the
median voter...as is predicted by elementary rational analysis of uni dimensional conflicts (Flanagan
127). He fails to explain this comment. What is a uni dimensional conflict and why does this situation
violate its expectations?
A uni dimensional conflict is a dispute involving a single issue, such as abortion, with gradated
strengths of opinion (Brams 28). It can be represented graphically with opinion along the x axis and

During my assessment I used the Seven principles of good prescribing to aid my decision making
(National Prescribing Centre (NPC) 1999). This structured framework allows the prescriber to assess
all appropriate factors and problems and make an informed decision whether to issue a prescription or
discuss other options with the patient Humphries (2002). Examples of these options would be offering
advice about their condition/problem or informing them that the treatment/items they require would be
cheaper over the counter, thus making optimum use of the NHS budget, Prescription Pricing Authority
(PPA) (2003). When making the decision to prescribe there are a number of influence you have to
consider. It is important to have an awareness of these influences and take them into consideration
when issuing a prescription. It is importance to have knowledge of the DOH (2006) Medicines

Compound Nouns Essay
Objective This year my third grade class began a lesson on compound nouns. We began by playing a
matching game. Each child picked a card with a word on it. They then had to try to find a partner who
had another word that would pair up with theirs to make a new word. The children were very excited,
but no one made the connection with compound words. Once they were paired up, each student said
their word and their new word. At this point, they started guessing that we ere going to talk about
compound nouns. I observed the children s excitement begin to diminish when they realized they were
not just playing but learning too. I heard one of my boys whisper to a friend, She tricked us again.
Yeah, she s always good for that, was the response. At this point, I asked the children if anyone could
guess my favorite compound noun. Since this seemed like another game, the energy level began to
rise. With no one guessing the correct answer, I told them my favorite compound noun was
grasshopper. They began to laugh and wanted to know why. I told them it was because I loved to eat
grasshopper pie. There were lots of laughs and kids shouting gross. I asked them if they had ever had
grasshopper pie and of course, no one had. Throughout many of my lessons I use a cross curricular
approach, so this lesson fit right in. To incorporate math, we made a chart that showed how many
students thought they would like grasshopper pie. Most of the boys were talking

cholesterol, ¼ less saturated fat, 2/3 more vitamin A, two times more omega 3 fatty acids, three times

Homeland Security Vs Homeland Security
Much has been discussed about homeland security and homeland defense regarding their differences
and similarities, but regardless of how the two are related, the fact remains that they both serve the
purpose of protecting and defending America, making our citizens safe, and to protect the integrity of
our infrastructure, rendering our nation a safe place to live and build family traditions. The ultimate
purpose of both Homeland Defense and Homeland Security is to protect, defend, and assist with the
safety and security of the citizens of the United States. One purpose specifically caters to the
protection of our citizens in land and the other focuses on the protection of citizens from overseas.
Homeland Defense operates within the United States and outside the United States to provide critical
protection to the country against terrorism. Homeland defense is the task the military is handed
outside of the United States. For the purpose of defending and protecting our nation, the reason why
military personnel are sent all over the world to fight radical extremists who pose a threat to our
nation. They also monitor any other entity who can potentially become a threat to our country.
Homeland defense represents the protection of our territory, population, and critical infrastructure by
deterring and defending against foreign and domestic threats, supporting civil authorities for crisis and
consequence management, and helping to ensure the continuance of critical national assets
(Department of the Army 1999, 1). (Noftsinger, 2007)
The Department of Defense main objective is to provide the military forces necessary to protect the
security of our country. To protect our natural resources, installations, and facilities by discouraging
and preventing acts of terror against the American public. To support the overall mission by fighting
radical extremist who plan and carry out attacks on American soil claiming the lives of innocent
citizens. Our military servicemembers operate from overseas and within our states protecting our
borders, skies, ports, and shores from terrorist who wish to plant fear and create chaos in our nation.

Observing Brigadoon Literary Analysis
Brigadoon is a musical book and lyrics written by Alan Jay Lerner. Observing Brigadoon through a
utopian lens paints a better picture of the world during the 1940s and gives a great example to the
unifying impact love has in utopian literature. Through examining three main utopian concepts, both
Brigadoon is proved to be utopian, and love is shown to be the driving utopian connection that draws
the play together. Following the story of two young travelers, Brigadoon tells the tale of a small
Scottish highland village. This village, as the explorers discover, lays under a spell which allows it to
only surfaces once every hundred years. To the villagers, this voyage happens during the night and

Examples Of Logical Fallacies
The vast majority of people would not like to admit that they use many different forms of logical
fallacies on a day to day basis. To better explain, fallacies as a definition are faulty arguments, which
at first glance appear to be correct (Boss, 137). It troubles me to say, that some days I perform more
than one fallacy in an attempt to try and get my points across. That being said, the three that stood out
to me the most were Ad Hominem Fallacy, Popular Appeal, and Appeal to Pity (Boss, 141 146).
People carry out an ad hominem fallacy when they attack the moral nature or characteristics of a
person instead of the argument itself (Boss, 141). I saw this a great deal throughout the presidential
debates between Hillary Clinton and the President elect Donald Trump. ... Show more content on

To better explain, sometimes when I am out with friends and a topic is brought up that I do not like, I
tend to start verbally attacking my friend s moral values instead of developing a logical argument
against the topic that is being discussed. Moving on, another fallacy that is commonly executed is the
popular appeal. Popular appeal is used in an argument when someone reaches a conclusion because it
is the popular opinion (Boss, 146). Finally, the last fallacy that is commonly used is the appeal to pity
fallacy. An example of this fallacy is when an individual uses a sob story in an attempt to get out of
trouble. For example, when a person arrives late to work he or she could state that they were late in
light of the fact that they were up all night with a sick

Mendacity In Cat On A Hot Tin Roof
Mendacity is an extreme impulse to be untruthful. It is to obfuscate the reality from fantasy. People
often come in contact with people who can never be trusted because of their untruthfulness. These are
the ones who practice mendacity to perfection. Many people change the truth in various ways in order
to fit in with the social construction of reality. Deceit is an art that can be mastered through practice,
but unfortunately many people are already well versed in this art form. It leads to destroyed
friendships, destroyed relationships, and destroyed careers. It is something that resides within us all,
but some choose to practice it regularly while others have suppressed its usage to a minimum.
Whatever the case maybe, we can all tap into our bizarre quality of being able to trick people.

How Were Women Portrayed
How often are women portrayed like the bad guys or not good people in books? In King Arthur and
His Knights of the Round Table by Roger Lancelyn Green it shows that it is very often, Morgana Le
Fay throws the Scabbard into a deep lake in the forest, she also tries to murder her husband, Guinevere
cheats on Arthur with his best friend and that is what destroys all of Camelot , and then the Lady of
the Lake told Arthur to kill Balyn with the cursed sword.
First of all Morgana Le Fay tried to kill her husband and that she is evil and does many evil deeds. Go
fetch me my lords sword, for I have never saw a better moment than this were to slay him Morgana Le
Fay (page 74). She is shown as evil for trying to betray the kingdom and murder her own husband for
power, she hated her husband so that was used to make it so she could kill her husband. Morgana Le
Fay also throws the Scabbard into a deep lake within the forest.
She found Arthur lying asleep with the sword Excalibur naked in his right hand: but the scabbard leant
against a chair at his bedside. At Least I can steal this from him she thought, and hiding it beneath her
cloak, she went quietly out of the abbey, mounted her horse, and rode away. Then she rode to a deep

Age Of Exploration Christopher Columbus
The Age of Exploration was a period of time from the 15th to 17th centuries where explorers started to
explore new lands and territories in order to find new trade routes. Europeans went west to explore
and claim the new world for their countries. The renaissance influenced these explorers to find new
lands and the reformation also influenced European explorers to spread their religion and try to
convert others to Christianity. Some of the most influential and key explores in this time period where
Christopher Columbus, Henry Hudson and Hernan Cortes.
Christopher Columbus was the one of the most influential explorers in the Age of Exploration. He was
the first European to explore the Americas. Columbus set off on his journey south from Palos Spain
with 3 ships. He believed that he would reach the edge of Japan in 10 days if he sailed west to
uncharted territory. Instead of being on the water for 10 days, he was on the water for about 30 days
and he found the americas. He landed in the bahamas and then claimed it for Spain. Christopher
Columbus should be viewed as a villain in history because he killed millions of the native Americans
with disease and overworking them. He captured thousands of natives and made them into slaves. He
also set in motion the Africans being put in the slavery. Even though he discovered the Americas he
murdered many lives. Christopher Columbus be a villain in history because of his horrible actions
towards the native people.

Condom Distribution Essay
Condom Distribution
Condom distribution to adolescents has always been a very controversial subject. Margaret Pruitt
Clark display s her views on this issue in her short essay entitled, Condom Availability Promotes
Health, Saves Lives. Clark has many good points about distributing condoms to adolescents and the
reasons that these types of measures should be taken. I agree with many of her proposals but do not
believe that the school environment is the right place to do this.
The threat of HIV, pregnancy, and sexually transmitted diseases (STD) among adolescents, has
become a life threatening issue and measures should be taken. The Center for Disease Control issued a
survey stating that, 31.9 percent of ninth grade girls and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In her essay she states that, teens who are exposed to risks need and deserve the best means possible
for protecting themselves: knowledge, skills, and access to latex condoms (Clark 117). I strongly
agree with her point that something must be done, and that teens deserve the best possible protection.
Condoms should be made readily available to adolescents, but schools are not the place to distribute
them. School is a place for education; students should be taught about the dangers of sex, and be
informed about where they can receive condoms. There are numerous free health clinics and similar
places that readily provide free condoms to adolescents. If condoms were provided in the schools, I
think that it would be made as more of a joke than a serious issue. Distributing condoms in schools
makes it seem like sex is OK, which is not the message we want to convey to our youth.
Another point that Clark addresses is changing the culture of our youth. In order to accomplish this,
she believes that the school should be a place where students can openly talk about sex, and also
receive information on the subject. I agree with this point, but I also believe that changing the culture
of our youth involves a lot more. If we are going to change adolescent culture we need to teach them
responsibility. In the instance that a student decides to engage in sexual activity, it needs to be

King Henry V Character Analysis
Throughout history, it has been difficult to have a dynastic succession produce good leaders. However,
in William Shakespeare s Henry V, King Henry V is acclaimed as the dynastic successor to England.
Henry has a valid claim to the French throne, but France already has a successor, the Dauphin. With
some convincing and financing from the clergy, Henry decides to fight for his place as the French heir.
In the Battle of Agincourt, Henry demonstrates strong leadership at a young age. As previously
explained in Act I, Henry s father died when he was young, and Henry V gained a new demeanor and
changed his wild ways into proper ethics for royalty. Henry s personality change leads to his noble
leadership, and he seems to lead by example and in words even as a young king. King Henry s
conduct causes him to be a just ruler. King Henry s morality, impartiality, and authority cause him to
be a just ruler. King Henry s morality causes him to be a just ruler. When Henry rises to the throne, he
sheds his reckless personality as much as possible, and he even distances himself from an old friend,
John Falstaff. King Henry becomes a morally and mentally sound king for England. Henry gains
important morals for a ruler such as humility, grace, piety, and wisdom even at his young age. Henry
shows a glimpse of his humility when he addresses the soldiers before the siege of Harfleur to inspire
them for battle. Henry says that they all must go Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once / more
(3.1.1 2). By addressing the soldiers as dear friends, Henry acknowledges them as equals and even
goes as far as saying that they are his comrades. His humility is loved by his people, so they respond
as motivated and united front for England. A good leader must never hold his/her head higher than
his/her subjects because this makes the ruler more popular when he/she considers all people equally.
Also, Henry is loved by the Church for his piety and other morals. As the Bishop of Canterbury and
the Bishop of Ely discuss the bill about to be passed which would tax the church, the Bishops mention
that Henry V is full of grace and fair reward. / And a true lover of the Church (1.1.24 25Whn Henry

Benefits Of Using Abdominal Subcutaneous Tissue And...
Ideally biopsies of abdominal subcutaneous tissue and salivary glands should be used for the Congo
red staining test, and it is positive if the sample has apple green birefringence in appearance under
polarized light. If the sample was inconclusive or negative, then the provider should have the affected
organ biopsied to ensure an accurate diagnosis. The reason one should investigate for amyloid
deposits via more invasive biopsy techniques is due to the higher risk of mortality associated with
misdiagnosis and delayed or lack of treatment. If renal biopsies are warranted, sufficient amounts of
amyloid deposits can be found around the glomerular basement membranes. Urine testing for
paraprotein is not specific enough for the diagnosis of AL, for many gammopathies present with this
in the urine. Once biopsies are positive, then the amyloid deposits should be tested via
immunofluorescence microscopy to obtain valuable information regarding its makeup.
Immunohistochemistry can be used as well, but it is not as successful in providing compositional
information for AL as immunofluorescence. AL should be differentiated from the other forms of
amyloidosis, such as hereditary amyloidosis, inflammatory amyloidosis, and hemodialysis related
amyloidosis. Randall type light chain deposition disease (LCDD) should also be included in the
differential (Desport et al., 2012).

Shoul Coding In Health Care
Health care is a very complicated topic, when discussing the coding system used to reimburse
physicians for their health services to the needs of the patients, especially those who are discussed in
Rebecca s talk. In the world we live in today, not many people have full health care coverage, let alone
affording the medicine that may be needed and food or rent for their homes. Health Leads is a simple
model where doctors and nurse can prescribes nutritious food, heat in the winter and other basic
resources for their patients the same way they would prescribe medicine. (Rebecca). With Health
Leads, the patients are able to take their prescriptions to their desk in the clinic, where the workers
work side by side with the patient to give the best services possible and to keep patients healthy. There
is a three step process in Medicare for physician reimbursement. 1). Appropriate coding of the service
provided by utilizing current procedural terminology; 2). Appropriate coding of the diagnosis using
ICD 9 code; and 3). The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services determination of the appropriate
fee based on the resources based relative value scale. (Ochsner). Based on the way that Rebecca

COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS OF MEDICAL LABORATORY TESTS
Introduction:Management in clinical diagnostic fields are frequently involved in cost analysis of new

Essay On George Pullman
When you consider the contributions made toward the labor relations process, you should allude to
who made a commitment to ensure that opportunities were not only accessible, but also achievable
and goal oriented. One individual who made a tremendous commitment to the labor relations process
was George Mortimer Pullman. George Pullman was an entrepreneur who invented the sleeping car,
an invention that provided railroad cars with beds for passengers. These sleeping cars accommodated
passengers by allowing them to relax during times of travel. Even though sleeping cars were advanced
and innovative, they played a role in both the rise and fall of George Pullman.
Born March 3, 1831, George Pullman became the third child, and third son, of James and Emily
Pullman. He had nine brothers and sister; however, many of them died during infancy (CITATION

store. He worked there until 1848, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Palace Car Company. In 1867, Pullman was elected president and general manager of the company by
the board of directors (CITATION HERE). Within the company, Pullman constructed five different
classes of sleeping cars. The different sleeping cars include diners, hotel cars, parlor cars, reclining
room cars, and sleepers (CITATION HERE). One way Pullman administered business was by creating
his own town. Founded in 1880, Pullman, Illinois was designed to house employees of the Pullman

The Benefits Of Cheating Professional Hearthstone
Hearthstone, by it s very nature, is a game of random chance. From the mulligan phase, to the

players stand out from the rest of us, is that they are able to maximize their chances of coming out on

of their hands due to the card the Random Number Generator (RNG) decides to bestow upon either
the player, or their opponent. Join me, as we take a look at a possible solution to this problem that can

Female Roles Of Female Mobile Dj Essay
Female what? That s right, DJs. Women are beginning to blossom in an industry highly saturated and
associated with men, proving they can rise to the occasion. Female mobile DJ s, why aren t there
more? I Chose this question because I myself have been wanting to start DJ ing for a while now and
when people think of DJ s I assume they only think of males. This question is a hot topic and also very
interesting to me because I will be soon DJ ing and would like to know why men dominate this field.
As I started conducting research on this question I started to find answers for my question right away.
I also looked up gender diversity which means how different genders are represented in a relevant
setting. Though I am not a DJ yet it seems as if female DJ s have felt like it s close to an impossible
task in front of them. That despite pumping out great mixes and working as hard as you can, the
recognition from booking agents and promoters and the subsequent gigs and success remain elusive.
Why? Why do female DJ s get the short end? Why do many female artists fail to break the top 10 lists
of any kind? Or why can t some female DJ s build brands that help them to achieve huge DJ ing
success? As I stumble across potential answers for my question the only thing that comes to mind is
that females don t think they are good enough because of what society says. And not just in DJ ing
but, beyond in many other fields. Women consistently underestimate their own talents and

point of being independent is learning about personality, potential and how people can improve their
behaviors. It also helps them to modify themselves to new environment. Furthermore, when people
decide to go abroad, it helps them to learn about new culture and history. They discover innovative
lifestyle, and behaviors. Also, if language is different and foreigners don t know how they can speak,
then they have a superior reason for learning a new linguistic communication. As Seltzer (2009) said,

Rhetorical Analysis Of Henry s Speech
Paragraph One
In the beginning of the speech, Henry uses a cautious but also assertive tone.
In delivering this speech, Henry intended to highlight the problems caused by Britain, and convince
the American people to fight back against British rule.
Phrases such as the majesty of heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings and nothing less then a
question of freedom or slavery showcase usage of antithesis in the speech.
Henry is appealing to the patriotism and emotions of his audience by mentioning things such as a
question of freedom or slavery , the great responsibility which we hold to God and our country , and
the very worth gentlemen who have just addressed the House .
By comparing the majesty of heaven to earthly kings , Henry is appealing to ethos, or the audience s
concept of ethics.
The phrase freely, and without reserve is an example of parallelism. References to God are an example
of allusion, as most of Henry s audience practiced Christianity. Paragraph Two
The purpose of this section of the talk is to show people s desire to ignore the truth about the state of
their country, and to warn against doing so.
Henry is trying to show how one s default or natural response to the hardships they were facing at the
hands of British rule might be to turn their head the other way.
Henry s reference to Ezekiel 12:2 ( having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not ) was a way to
draw attention to injustices that he saw among the American people. Because most

which is often used is discounted cash flow method(DCF). This method is for valuation of the

Companies should keep in mind that after the merge there will be some synergy between companies
and there will be growth for the after the merger because of the companies will continue to work. Also
the market power will increase and the big company after the merger will have easy access to
resources. There are also some cross border advantages for mergers too.
The market imprefections will be exploited, government adverse policies will be adverted, there will
be technology transfer and product differentiation. Finally, both of the companies clients will follow
the merger and will start to work the company after the merger. There will also be some bad side of
merger too. Diversification can be huge problem for the companies as in today s world highly diversed
companies become more successful. If there is conflict of interest between the managers of the two

The Typical Asian Diet Essay example
The Asian food diet is among one of the healthiest cultural diets in the world. A majority of their
meals consist of fresh fruits, vegetables, and rice. As far as meats go, people of the Asian culture do
not typically eat as much as other cultures, however when they do eat meat it is usually fish. Food is
prepared stir fried, deep fried, steamed, or just plain raw. Meats are rarely the main dish in any of their
meals and are more of a side dish. In most of the Asian cultures there diet revolves around there
religion. (Asi1) If eating a certain food stands against the religious practices of a person then they will
not eat that certain food, much in the same way as Jewish persons will not eat pork due to religion.

deficiency, persons of the Asian culture partake in lifting heavy objects and manual labor which helps
to strengthen bones. These individuals must be very careful with their calcium levels because a diet to

Short term Memory Affects Color Perception in Context The purpose of the experiment was to study
the effects of short term memory on perceptual observations, determine whether there is actually an
independence between color memory and surface color assessment, and to discuss the differences
between perception and memory characteristics. Another goal of this study was to estimate surface
reflectance of an object from a general measurement of incoming light signals and figure out how it
affects memory with realistic scenes and tasks. Perception is defined as the ability to see, hear, or

Our brain relies on spatial frequency, bistable figures, motion direction, and structure from motion to
help aid in the determination of surface color, scene complexity, and context color. All of those plus
previous knowledge about encounters can affect how the brain stores the information. The interaction
implies that during information processing, memory and perception must be studied jointly. There are
three steps that our brains take in order for us to make a decision based on the task given to us. Step
one consists of a person observing both surface reflectance and illumination. Step two happens when
the background color dominates the observes illumination based on spatial length. Step three, the
person will use prior experiences of reflectance and illumination. Step four takes step three, but
compares and updates the observation based on whats being displayed in the trials. This allows the
observer to make a precise conclusion. One major issue that arose during this study was bias.

The Evolution Of Afric Evolution And Human Evolution
Human evolution is the gradual process in which people, or Homo sapiens, originated from apelike
ancestors. Scientific evidence, particularly in the form of fossils and secondary remains, show that the
physical and behavioral traits shared by all people evolved over a period of approximately six million
years. Humans are primates. Both genetic and physical similarities show that humans and the great
apes (large apes) of Africa, chimpanzees (including bonobos, or so called pygmy chimpanzees ) and
gorillas share a common ancestor that lived between 8 and 6 million years ago. The volume of fossils
found in Africa suggests that most evolution occurred there and is likely the place of origin for early
humans. This brings to fruition the out of Africa theory, also called the single origin hypothesis.
The out of Africa theory implies that Anatomically modern humans evolved in East Africa between
400,000 and 200,000 years ago and began to disperse throughout the world roughly 70,000 to 135,000
years ago. In 2011, scientists came to the conclusion there were likely two major waves of migration
out of Africa the Early northern Africa dispersal and Southern Route dispersal.
The early northern Africa dispersal occurred 130,000 115,000 years ago, as a result of tropical Africa
experiencing megadroughts, forcing humans towards the seashores for food and water. Certain groups
attempted to cross over to other continents in search for viable living conditions, but many retreated or

You Have Seen Their Faces By Margaret Bourke White And...
You Have Seen Their Faces by Margaret Bourke White and Erskine Caldwell is a photo documentary
of life in the South during the Great Depression. After reading You Have Seen Their Faces along with
critiques of it by Rabinowitz and Snyder, I found myself more interested in the topic of how
motherhood was depicted in the book. Rabinowitz brought up that middle class women felt the need to
regulate the poor women because they weren t feminine enough or motherly enough which is the main
attitude involved in slumming. By observing Margaret Bourke White s photos I found two distinct
classes of these types of images: positive and negative. I was curious as to the deeper meanings behind
these two classes of photos and what this meant about Bourke White s perspective of her subjects.
Another point of interest is how and if the captions of these photos of mothers cause the images to be
interpreted differently. While many photos in You Have Seen Their Faces depict life in the south in
negative light, there are a few photos that contradict this sentiment. While reading the book I found
many photos that placed their subjects in a positive light and most of them happened to center around
motherhood. These images portrayed the mothers as strong and determined in the face of adversity.
The first image I came across that demonstrated these characteristics was the photo from Ringgold,
Georgia. It is the second image in a set of two that depict a family traveling from Florida to look for

Network Visibility And Its Effect On The Environment Essay
5. Expectations for a complete suit network visibility network visibility is critical in taming breaches
of security in businesses and organizations. Breaches such as those witnessed in leading retail brands
such as Target and Staples are happening because most network security designs in use today have not
adapted to the more forceful dynamic access and threat environment. In addition, the reduction in
network visibility is what has curtailed the ability of retail brands to fully secure their network assets.
The shift to complete network visibility will benefit networking vendors who are keen on providing
complete network visibility requirements and high compute capacity solutions. Viable Solutions to
Networking Challenges Cloud Cloud computing is already at the center of new data center evolution
because large amounts of information can be stored in cloud. It is actually estimated that 1/3 of all
data will go through cloud by 2020. This will lead to a rise in global cloud revenues as well as the
amount of money firms spend on cloud computing and innovation. The development will also see
many organizations come up with ways to enhance cloud infrastructure to enhance compute density,
ultra low latency and power density. The most common networking attributes of cloud include; low
latency, programmable management, scalable, Open APIs and Self healing resilience. Cloud

Homosexuality In Dracula
The sexuality downplayed in the Victorian culture is able to be exploited in Stoker s writing because
of the social norm to express sexuality through literature. The cultural (literary and aesthetic) was
consumed with images of mystical, deadly and sexually enticing female subjects to exemplify what a
fallen woman is (Moore). A painting by E.C. Barnes made in the 1860 s shows the moral downfalls of
a woman working in a city. The insinuations of the painting direct the viewer into seeing the darkness
and negative connotations of a working woman. There are implications to what may happen to the
woman if she lets her guard down. Woman of the Victorian era are able to relate to these paintings and
pieces of literature. They are warned of the dangers of displaying sexuality and intelligence. Aside
from warning culture of the dangers of immorality, authors and artists are able to give pleasure to the
culture through their pieces. Because of the conservative society, being sexually immoral is forbidden.

friend go through trial must have caused many of the internally conflicting emotions which led Stoker
to personally view (and portray) any sexuality as a vile and painful source of evil and despair

hate towards the homosexuality in himself. Now that we know Stoker s experience with
homosexuality, we can see how he places it in such a bad light throughout

Symbiosis And Eukaryotes
Symbioses have played an important role in the origins and evolution of cells and organisms with
novel properties. One of the most significant outcomes of symbiosis, is the formation of eukaryotes
through either primary or secondary endosymbiosis which allowed for the development of many
unique organelles present today in eukaryotes, notably chloroplasts and mitochondria. Primary
endosymbiosis is the engulfment of a prokaryote by a eukaryote forming a plastid, compared to
secondary endosymbiosis: a eukaryote engulfs another eukaryote to form a plastid (Archibald et al,
2002). Through endosymbiosis, the endosymbionts are able to bring in unique metabolic and
signalling capabilities beneficial to the host (Lake, 2009). However, mutually dependent ... Show

Both chloroplasts and mitochondria contain circular DNA knowns as chloroplast DNA and
mitochondrial DNA respectively, signifying that both organelles have prokaryotic origins. The
presence of mitochondria in eukaryotes allows for ATP synthesis through the electron transport chain
and oxidative phosphorylation (Chinney et al, 2003), thus enabling eukaryotes to satisfy their high
metabolic requirements, particularly in animals. The production of large amounts of ATP energy
allows for the sustenance of life in a wide variety of environmental conditions as they are able to
produce the energy required. The unique double membrane of the mitochondria suggest that it was
formed as a result of primary symbiosis, and are homologous to plastids. Similarly chloroplasts enable
eukaryotes to take advantage of sunlight as a natural resource, which allows the process of
photosynthesis, where the reaction of carbon dioxide and water is converted to glucose and oxygen
gas (Cogdell, 2013), using light energy produced by the sun with the aid of chlorophyll. This
conversion of light energy into chemical energy forms the primary source of all energy accessible by
the animal consumers on land, through the producers the plants. At the cellular level, protists are the
most simple examples of endosymbiosis. In the amoeba Paulinella chromatophora it contains two
chromatophores, derived from once free living cyanobacteria (Wernegreen,

How Does Rick Deckard Create Identity In The Blade Runner
The book Do Androids Dream of Sheep and the movie Blade Runner both focus on the protagonist
Rick Deckard who is assigned to hunt down Androids and retire them. Throughout the book and
movie, he is faced with issues such as questioning his own identity and that of others. Although the
movie adaption did change some of the characters and most of the plot, it still managed to keep some
things similar; most importantly the themes. One of those themes is the difficulty of correctly
assigning an identity to someone, as a person can never be certain of another person s true self. This
can be seen when the androids are given the Voigt Kampff test, how the specials/chicken heads are
classified, and even in Rick Deckard s identity crisis. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the beginning of the book, Deckard was confident about his profession and what identified him as a
human. For example, he knew he was human because of his desire of having a living animal. After all,
his neighbor Barbour even says that every one of us has an animal of some sort (9). Almost every
character in the book who turned out to be human had some type of animal even if it was fake because
it was one of the only ways other people could identify if they were human or an android. Although
this changed in Deckard when he encountered Luba. When he saw her opera performance he
wondered if his life was just a cycle were he killed machines that were going to be reconstructed again
(92). Later on, when she was killed by the mercilessness Phil Resch, Deckard questioned why he felt
empathy towards her. Resch advised him to sleep with the androids to get rid of those emotions, but
when Deckard did so it did not work. Even at the end after killing all the androids and having a
spiritual encounter with Mercer he is left confused about what his true identity was. However in the
movie Blade Runner it was not him who was going through this crisis but it was Roy. This android
wanted to expand his life because he wanted to be similar to a human. In the beginning, he went as far
as killing people, something that an android would do without hesitation. Although at the end he

  • 2. The Widespread Adoption Of Information Technology Essay The widespread adoption of information technology (IT) has resulted in significant savings in health care costs as well as improved patient health and safety. Today in healthcare facilities, databases store records that can be accessed from anywhere in the world. This results in better data coordination and management (Banova, 2013). The benefits of increased use of IT continues to grow as leaders in the field of medicine create innovative ways to use IT to improve the business and health care side of medicine. IT has increased the efficiency and decreased the cost of doing business. This leads to dollars and an increase in overall patient quality which is critical with the changes in the reimbursement models from CMS ( Benefits of Healthcare , 2015). The city of San Diego as the need and push for IT implementation has grown made a large technology investment and created a health information exchange (HIE). San Diego Health Connect began in efforts to improve healthcare in the San Diego community spearheaded by the University of California. In April 2010, UC San Diego received a grant from the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) on behalf of the community. They named this the Beacon community. The HIE is a vast network of healthcare providers and social services ( San Diego Health Connect , 2015). The HIE quickly grew membership and the participation of the major health systems in San Diego and members continue to grow today. In early ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. A Report On Uav Traffic Safety Abstract The purpose of this paper is to review some UAV traffic concerns. UAV traffic is increasing tremendously over the past decade. There have been a number of mid air collisions with UAVs crashing into commercial aircraft or into each other. They are big enough to cause more engine foreign object damage than a bird strike. This is because they are made of stronger material and plus they have batteries on board that can cause severe damage to aircraft. Air traffic controllers need to know how many UAVs are operating in their area of responsibility and know exactly where they are. The FAA has adapted to the some of the new UAV laws, but this paper will show where they are lacking some rules and regulations involving UAV traffic. Introduction This paper is going to demonstrate the importance of UAV traffic control. It will review some previous mid air collisions with both UAVs colliding with each other and with commercial aircraft. It will include some of the causes like lack of technology to detect UAVs and other aircraft, air traffic controller centers lacking technology, and the FAA lacking rules and regulations addressing the UAV population increases. The technology has to communicate back and forth from the UAV to the operator and back. This can become a problem because of hacking threats. The main concern of this paper is to propose an efficient and secure air traffic control of UAVs. In the article Secure routing in UAV , the three ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. A Short Note On Maximal Oxygen Consumption ( Vo2max ) Introduction Maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max), the highest recorded rate of oxygen consumption during a graded and exhaustive exercise test, is a top indicator of cardio pulmonary endurance in humans and is believed to correlate with overall health (Strijk, Proper, Klaver, Beek, Mechelen, 2010). VO2max of an individual declines with age regardless of exercise status, but exercise may lead to a significantly slower decline in VO2max during the aging process (Katzel, Sorkin, Fleg, 2001) Many factors related to aging such as decrease of maximal heart rate, stroke volume, the gain of body mass, decreased muscle mass, and decreased health status are thought to be the primary contributing factors leading to a decline in VO2max (Grimsmo, Arnesen, Maehlum, 2010). Individuals that have decreased their physical activity levels or developed health problems had a greater decline in VO2max values, over a longitudinal study, than their healthy counterparts (Grimsmo et al., 2010). Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) affects individuals by causing airflow restriction, impairing their exercise capacity (Ortega, Montemayor, Sanchez, Cabello, 1995). A VO2max test has the ability to help identify COPD that may not have been apparent prior to this test and can indicate the severity of the disease (Ortega et al, 1995). One metabolic equivalent of task (MET) is the amount of energy used to sit in a chair for one minute which is equivalent to a VO2max value of 3.5ml/kg/min ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Excitement of Gaming Turned into an Addiction Change is the alteration which results in an important shift in the way we perceive and interact with the world. It is the process of being reformed in appearance or turned into something or someone new. The concept of change is very significant as it gives us new experiences whether positive or negative. Being the best student was something I never had to worry or wish for due to my devotions towards studies. It was the third time I got awarded as one of the best students in high school. My dad bought me a brand new play station 3 as a gift of acknowledgment towards my good performance in school. Video game became one of my favorite hobbies. I developed the interest in gaming and spent most of my time on it. It taught me some driving ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They acclaimed me over my sisters which encouraged me to stick to this practice. My parents decided to give me some opportunities to acknowledge my conduct, My room looked cleaned. Now was the time to invite friends over to my house. My parents never wanted me to invite any friend to the house because of how miserable the house always looked like. During my week of change, I was giving the opportunity to invite friends over if I wish. On the 4th day, I invited my two best friends: Williams and mike. For the past 2 week, we never heard from each other and never got worried about contacting. Mike and William came over to my house and we all went to the recreational center to have fun. We did a lot of exercise and played basketball. Since the day 4, we took it a practice to always visit the recreational center. This also promoted my health and built my friendship. As I carried on with the change, I never taught much about video games. I found more interest in hanging out with my family all the time. I used to go to the cinema every Saturday with my family until I had my play station. My family will go to the cinema whilst I also spend time with my play station. On Saturday, the 7th day, I felt very bored and had no option than to join my family to the cinema. That night was fun as I realized the ecstasy in hanging out with family. • 6. Risks of PSA Testing Essay PSA test results are interpreted as: 0 4 ng/mL is normal. Between 4 to 10 ng/ML is 25% of developing cancer, and 10 ng/ml is a 50% risk of cancer. However, some men with normal PSA levels still have prostate cancer, while other men with high PSA levels do not. PSA levels increase with age often due to a higher prevalence of benign prostate hypertrophy (BPH). Therefore, no PSA cutoff can accurately guarantee that a man does not have prostate cancer. PSA blood levels are used for several different purposes such as to diagnose prostate cancer, evaluate treatment of prostate cancer, and to evaluate the severity of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Currently there is no way to determine between prostate cancers that is aggressive verse ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The ACS guidelines also recommend screening men who are at high risk as early as 40 years of age (black, relative that was diagnosed young, Braca 1 (breast cancer) 1 or Braca 2. In the case for PSA screening, PCa is the leading internal malignancy in US men and the second leading cause of cancer death in American men. With the rapid increase in Internet of Things device around the world it has become a problem with securing one s privacy, Internet of things range from a typical smart phone to a smart air conditioner or a pacemaker. Because of these simple devices one can overlook the security and vulnerability of these devices such as their privacy concerns. You ever feel like you re being watch, or that your smart phone may know you to well, or how your device apps seem to somehow know which ads to post of material items you been searching. These are just a few privacy issues that still remain unresolved. With the growing issue of privacy in Internet of Things there are methods and designs being developed to help ease one s concerns, I will provide two methods to help resolve the privacy issue with the dummy location generator, that is an algorithm developed that will help lower the user probability of having their location revealed. Another method is the privacy by design which is the process of which it uses the consideration the user s privacy issues that should be used from the beginning of the design throughout the whole design process. • 8. Once The Wart Character Analysis The Wart walked up to the great sword for the third time. He put out his right arm softly and drew it out as gently from a scabbard. (198). The Wart, a nickname for soon to be King Arthur was a modest, curious, young boy who was into adventure. Once the Wart was crowned king, he was named King Arthur. King Arthur grew from a timid boy to become a strong ruler with the help of his tutor Merlyn. The theme of might and right that recurred several times was based on Arthur. The Wart was always good hearted both young and old, but when he pulled the sword from the stone he had to apply all his lessons and morals to his rule. T.H. Arthur is a successful king, because he worked hard to understand Merlyn s morals and apply it to his own system of governance. In order to obtain great power like Arthur did, you need might. Arthur utters his explanation through a few words saying, Why can t you harness Might so that it works for right? I know it sounds nonsense, but, I mean, you can t just say there is no such thing. The Might is there, in the bad half of people, and you can t neglect it. You can t cut it out, but you might be able to direct it, if you see what I mean, so that it was useful instead of bad. (241). This quote shows that T.H. White proves force to equal justice and that Arthur can make a seperation between power and justice. Arthur is remembered for his image of a civilized society, and not for his role on the battlefield. He notices the good and bad of common people and allows them to equal each other out. For example, under King Arthur s rule, Knights are allowed to fight for a reason, but not for pity fun. Arthur uses Merlyn s knowledge from the lessons and turning into multiple creatures to maintain a just political system with a progressive civilization. They then had to try to find a partner who had another word that would pair up with theirs to make a new word. The children were very excited, but no one made the connection with compound words. Once they were paired up, each student said their word and their new word. At this point, they started guessing that we ere going to talk about compound nouns. I observed the children s excitement begin to diminish when they realized they were not just playing but learning too. I heard one of my boys whisper to a friend, She tricked us again. Yeah, she s always good for that, was the response. At this point, I asked the children if anyone could guess my favorite compound noun. Since this seemed like another game, the energy level began to rise. With no one guessing the correct answer, I told them my favorite compound noun was grasshopper. They began to laugh and wanted to know why. I told them it was because I loved to eat grasshopper pie. There were lots of laughs and kids shouting gross. I asked them if they had ever had grasshopper pie and of course, no one had. Throughout many of my lessons I use a cross curricular approach, so this lesson fit right in. In her essay she states that, teens who are exposed to risks need and deserve the best means possible for protecting themselves: knowledge, skills, and access to latex condoms (Clark 117). I strongly agree with her point that something must be done, and that teens deserve the best possible protection. Condoms should be made readily available to adolescents, but schools are not the place to distribute them. School is a place for education; students should be taught about the dangers of sex, and be informed about where they can receive condoms. There are numerous free health clinics and similar places that readily provide free condoms to adolescents. If condoms were provided in the schools, I think that it would be made as more of a joke than a serious issue. Distributing condoms in schools makes it seem like sex is OK, which is not the message we want to convey to our youth. Another point that Clark addresses is changing the culture of our youth. In order to accomplish this, she believes that the school should be a place where students can openly talk about sex, and also receive information on the subject. Henry has a valid claim to the French throne, but France already has a successor, the Dauphin. With some convincing and financing from the clergy, Henry decides to fight for his place as the French heir. In the Battle of Agincourt, Henry demonstrates strong leadership at a young age. As previously explained in Act I, Henry s father died when he was young, and Henry V gained a new demeanor and changed his wild ways into proper ethics for royalty. Henry shows a glimpse of his humility when he addresses the soldiers before the siege of Harfleur to inspire them for battle. Ideally biopsies of abdominal subcutaneous tissue and salivary glands should be used for the Congo red staining test, and it is positive if the sample has apple green birefringence in appearance under polarized light. If the sample was inconclusive or negative, then the provider should have the affected organ biopsied to ensure an accurate diagnosis. The reason one should investigate for amyloid deposits via more invasive biopsy techniques is due to the higher risk of mortality associated with misdiagnosis and delayed or lack of treatment. If renal biopsies are warranted, sufficient amounts of amyloid deposits can be found around the glomerular basement membranes. Urine testing for paraprotein is not specific enough for the diagnosis of AL, for many gammopathies present with this in the urine. Once biopsies are positive, then the amyloid deposits should be tested via immunofluorescence microscopy to obtain valuable information regarding its makeup. Immunohistochemistry can be used as well, but it is not as successful in providing compositional information for AL as immunofluorescence. The synthesis occurs due to a reaction between salicylic acid and acetic anhydride. Once the aspirin was prepared, it was isolated from the reaction solution and purified. The aspirin is insoluble in cold water, and was isolated by filtering the crystallized reaction solution. Purification was necessary to remove any of the unreacted salicylic acid and acetic anhydride. During the experiment, a total of two beakers were used: one that contained the hot water bath and one that held the ice water for the ice bath. Ford said she had been traversing Europe solo and was responsible for her own basic survival and safety (P.1). Moreover, foreigners become more self reliant because they don t have their parents to support and take care of them. They have to be responsible for their own choices and behaviors. The point of being independent is learning about personality, potential and how people can improve their behaviors. It also helps them to modify themselves to new environment. Furthermore, when people decide to go abroad, it helps them to learn about new culture and history. They discover innovative lifestyle, and behaviors. Also, if language is different and foreigners don t know how they can speak, then they have a superior reason for learning a new linguistic communication. As Seltzer (2009) said, when she moved to another state, she found out how life style and culture can be different. Gabi didn t make herself ready for this big change but at the end she learned a lot of things about other people and how they live. One thing that can be useful is Reading a book which is help to access all of the accumulated knowledge from the past and the present and also to enhance vocabulary. Beside negative effects of culture shock, it can be helpful for people. When people go abroad for living or saying there for long time, they can learn a lot about new place which is excellent. • 29. Rhetorical Analysis Of Henry s Speech Paragraph One In the beginning of the speech, Henry uses a cautious but also assertive tone. In delivering this speech, Henry intended to highlight the problems caused by Britain, and convince the American people to fight back against British rule. Phrases such as the majesty of heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings and nothing less then a question of freedom or slavery showcase usage of antithesis in the speech. Henry is appealing to the patriotism and emotions of his audience by mentioning things such as a question of freedom or slavery , the great responsibility which we hold to God and our country , and the very worth gentlemen who have just addressed the House . By comparing the majesty of heaven to earthly kings , Henry is appealing to ethos, or the audience s concept of ethics. The phrase freely, and without reserve is an example of parallelism. References to God are an example of allusion, as most of Henry s audience practiced Christianity. Paragraph Two The purpose of this section of the talk is to show people s desire to ignore the truth about the state of their country, and to warn against doing so. Henry is trying to show how one s default or natural response to the hardships they were facing at the hands of British rule might be to turn their head the other way. Henry s reference to Ezekiel 12:2 ( having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not ) was a way to draw attention to injustices that he saw among the American people. Because most ... Short term Memory Affects Color Perception in Context The purpose of the experiment was to study the effects of short term memory on perceptual observations, determine whether there is actually an independence between color memory and surface color assessment, and to discuss the differences between perception and memory characteristics. Another goal of this study was to estimate surface reflectance of an object from a general measurement of incoming light signals and figure out how it affects memory with realistic scenes and tasks. Perception is defined as the ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through senses and memory is defined as the faculty by which the mind stores and remembers information. Both of these are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Our brain relies on spatial frequency, bistable figures, motion direction, and structure from motion to help aid in the determination of surface color, scene complexity, and context color. All of those plus previous knowledge about encounters can affect how the brain stores the information. The interaction implies that during information processing, memory and perception must be studied jointly. There are three steps that our brains take in order for us to make a decision based on the task given to us. Step one consists of a person observing both surface reflectance and illumination. Step two happens when the background color dominates the observes illumination based on spatial length. Step three, the person will use prior experiences of reflectance and illumination. Step four takes step three, but compares and updates the observation based on whats being displayed in the trials. This allows the observer to make a precise conclusion. One major issue that arose during this study was bias. However, in this case, more bias indicates better consistency. Bias was defined as PSEcondition PSEbaseline. • 34. The Evolution Of Afric Evolution And Human Evolution Human evolution is the gradual process in which people, or Homo sapiens, originated from apelike ancestors. Scientific evidence, particularly in the form of fossils and secondary remains, show that the physical and behavioral traits shared by all people evolved over a period of approximately six million years. Humans are primates. Both genetic and physical similarities show that humans and the great apes (large apes) of Africa, chimpanzees (including bonobos, or so called pygmy chimpanzees ) and gorillas share a common ancestor that lived between 8 and 6 million years ago. The volume of fossils found in Africa suggests that most evolution occurred there and is likely the place of origin for early humans. This brings to fruition the out of Africa theory, also called the single origin hypothesis. The out of Africa theory implies that Anatomically modern humans evolved in East Africa between 400,000 and 200,000 years ago and began to disperse throughout the world roughly 70,000 to 135,000 years ago. In 2011, scientists came to the conclusion there were likely two major waves of migration out of Africa the Early northern Africa dispersal and Southern Route dispersal. The early northern Africa dispersal occurred 130,000 115,000 years ago, as a result of tropical Africa experiencing megadroughts, forcing humans towards the seashores for food and water. • 35. You Have Seen Their Faces By Margaret Bourke White And... You Have Seen Their Faces by Margaret Bourke White and Erskine Caldwell is a photo documentary of life in the South during the Great Depression. After reading You Have Seen Their Faces along with critiques of it by Rabinowitz and Snyder, I found myself more interested in the topic of how motherhood was depicted in the book. Rabinowitz brought up that middle class women felt the need to regulate the poor women because they weren t feminine enough or motherly enough which is the main attitude involved in slumming. By observing Margaret Bourke White s photos I found two distinct classes of these types of images: positive and negative. I was curious as to the deeper meanings behind these two classes of photos and what this meant about Bourke White s perspective of her subjects. Another point of interest is how and if the captions of these photos of mothers cause the images to be interpreted differently. While many photos in You Have Seen Their Faces depict life in the south in negative light, there are a few photos that contradict this sentiment. While reading the book I found many photos that placed their subjects in a positive light and most of them happened to center around motherhood. These images portrayed the mothers as strong and determined in the face of adversity. The first image I came across that demonstrated these characteristics was the photo from Ringgold, Georgia. It is the second image in a set of two that depict a family traveling from Florida to look for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 36. Network Visibility And Its Effect On The Environment Essay 5. Expectations for a complete suit network visibility network visibility is critical in taming breaches of security in businesses and organizations. Breaches such as those witnessed in leading retail brands such as Target and Staples are happening because most network security designs in use today have not adapted to the more forceful dynamic access and threat environment. In addition, the reduction in network visibility is what has curtailed the ability of retail brands to fully secure their network assets. The shift to complete network visibility will benefit networking vendors who are keen on providing complete network visibility requirements and high compute capacity solutions. Viable Solutions to Networking Challenges Cloud Cloud computing is already at the center of new data center evolution because large amounts of information can be stored in cloud. It is actually estimated that 1/3 of all data will go through cloud by 2020. This will lead to a rise in global cloud revenues as well as the amount of money firms spend on cloud computing and innovation. The development will also see many organizations come up with ways to enhance cloud infrastructure to enhance compute density, ultra low latency and power density. The most common networking attributes of cloud include; low latency, programmable management, scalable, Open APIs and Self healing resilience. • 37. Homosexuality In Dracula The sexuality downplayed in the Victorian culture is able to be exploited in Stoker s writing because of the social norm to express sexuality through literature. The cultural (literary and aesthetic) was consumed with images of mystical, deadly and sexually enticing female subjects to exemplify what a fallen woman is (Moore). A painting by E.C. Barnes made in the 1860 s shows the moral downfalls of a woman working in a city. The insinuations of the painting direct the viewer into seeing the darkness and negative connotations of a working woman. There are implications to what may happen to the woman if she lets her guard down. Woman of the Victorian era are able to relate to these paintings and pieces of literature. They are warned of the dangers of displaying sexuality and intelligence. • 38. Symbiosis And Eukaryotes Symbioses have played an important role in the origins and evolution of cells and organisms with novel properties. One of the most significant outcomes of symbiosis, is the formation of eukaryotes through either primary or secondary endosymbiosis which allowed for the development of many unique organelles present today in eukaryotes, notably chloroplasts and mitochondria. Primary endosymbiosis is the engulfment of a prokaryote by a eukaryote forming a plastid, compared to secondary endosymbiosis: a eukaryote engulfs another eukaryote to form a plastid (Archibald et al, 2002). Through endosymbiosis, the endosymbionts are able to bring in unique metabolic and signalling capabilities beneficial to the host (Lake, 2009). However, mutually dependent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both chloroplasts and mitochondria contain circular DNA knowns as chloroplast DNA and mitochondrial DNA respectively, signifying that both organelles have prokaryotic origins. The presence of mitochondria in eukaryotes allows for ATP synthesis through the electron transport chain and oxidative phosphorylation (Chinney et al, 2003), thus enabling eukaryotes to satisfy their high metabolic requirements, particularly in animals. The production of large amounts of ATP energy allows for the sustenance of life in a wide variety of environmental conditions as they are able to produce the energy required. The unique double membrane of the mitochondria suggest that it was formed as a result of primary symbiosis, and are homologous to plastids. Similarly chloroplasts enable eukaryotes to take advantage of sunlight as a natural resource, which allows the process of photosynthesis, where the reaction of carbon dioxide and water is converted to glucose and oxygen gas (Cogdell, 2013), using light energy produced by the sun with the aid of chlorophyll. This conversion of light energy into chemical energy forms the primary source of all energy accessible by the animal consumers on land, through the producers the plants. At the cellular level, protists are the most simple examples of endosymbiosis. How Does Rick Deckard Create Identity In The Blade Runner The book Do Androids Dream of Sheep and the movie Blade Runner both focus on the protagonist Rick Deckard who is assigned to hunt down Androids and retire them. Throughout the book and movie, he is faced with issues such as questioning his own identity and that of others. Although the movie adaption did change some of the characters and most of the plot, it still managed to keep some things similar; most importantly the themes. One of those themes is the difficulty of correctly assigning an identity to someone, as a person can never be certain of another person s true self. This can be seen when the androids are given the Voigt Kampff test, how the specials/chicken heads are classified, and even in Rick Deckard s identity crisis. ... For example, he knew he was human because of his desire of having a living animal. After all, his neighbor Barbour even says that every one of us has an animal of some sort (9). Almost every character in the book who turned out to be human had some type of animal even if it was fake because it was one of the only ways other people could identify if they were human or an android. Although this changed in Deckard when he encountered Luba. When he saw her opera performance he wondered if his life was just a cycle were he killed machines that were going to be reconstructed again (92). Later on, when she was killed by the mercilessness Phil Resch, Deckard questioned why he felt empathy towards her. Resch advised him to sleep with the androids to get rid of those emotions, but when Deckard did so it did not work. Even at the end after killing all the androids and having a spiritual encounter with Mercer he is left confused about what his true identity was.
