Parathyroid Hormone
Parathyroid hormone (PTH) is the main modulator of calcium levels in the body. The minute to
minute regulation of calcium is maintained through PTH keeping the calcium concentration within a
narrow normal range. PTH stimulates renal tubular calcium reabsorption and bone resorption. It also
increases intestinal calcium absorption mediated by increased calcitriol production. Primary
hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) is an endocrine disorder characterized by autonomous production of
parathyroid hormone. The increase in PTH secretion in primary hyperparathyroidism is, in part, due to
an elevation in set point. The increase in the set point ranging between 15 to 30 percent above that of a
normal parathyroid gland is the major determinant of the severity

Prenatal Levels Of Cortisol And Placental Corticotropin...
During pregnancy, the positive feedback loop that plays a part in regulating products of the HPA axis
is altered. Prenatal levels of cortisol and placental corticotropin releasing hormone (pCRH) have been
shown to be elevated during pregnancy. Placental corticotropin releasing hormone is considered a
placental clock that changes the development of the onset of parturition (Glynn, Davis Sandman,
2013). According to Glynn et al., these elevations have been linked to changes in the sensitivity of
cortisol in the anterior pituitary and also to a decline in corticotropin releasing hormone secretion
centrally. Also, the HPA refractory period is shown to increase when additions of more extreme
adrenal insufficiencies occur. A longer refractory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is in contrast with the low levels of CRH immunoreactivity in plasma found in women who are
not pregnant. Women with higher levels of pCRH during pregnancy were more likely to display
symptoms of postpartum depression three months after giving birth (Glynn et al., 2013).
Also, the HPA axis experiences a diminished response across different stressors in pregnancy. Cortisol
levels have been found to decrease quickly after birth. Also, many areas of the body are dampened due
to the diminished response experienced. These include more areas than the HPA axis, including a
dampened blood pressure and a dampened heart rate (Glynn, Davis, Sandman, 2013). The Glynn et al.
study found that administration of CRH during the third trimester actually produced no response in the
women studied (2013). In addition to parts of the body being dampened, weakened psychological
responses to stress have been shown. It is believed that these act as an adaptive value that protects the
mother and benefits the child. One of the HPA axis alterations postpartum is hyporesponsivity. With
this hyporesponsivity in the HPA axis, two different causes have been proposed. One proposed cause
is that a mild adrenal suppression could be due to the sensitivity at the hypothalamus or its regulatory
inputs associated with a decrease in CRH secretion (Glynn Sandman, 2014). The second proposed
cause is that high levels of CRH in pregnancy may desensitize the anterior pituitary to

Nursing Diagnoses And Its Effects On The United States
Our client, Ertha Williams is a 99 year old female who lives alone in a low income apartment complex
on the second floor in Monroe, Michigan. Ertha suffers from chronic kidney disease and has a history
of hypertension and type one diabetes. Due to her chronic kidney disease Ertha has regular scheduled
dialysis appointments three times a week, but since the death of her son and husband and her inability
to drive it is difficult for Ertha to get to her dialysis appointments. She also has difficulties preparing
the multiple medication she is required to take to manage her hypertension and diabetes. After her last
dialysis appointment the nurse reported that Ertha appeared frail and emaciated. Ertha herself also
stated that she worries about financial issues frequently and has good and bad days occasionally.
Based on these findings Ertha is in need of some assistance to help alleviate some of the problems and
stresses she is undergoing. Several nursing diagnoses can be established based on Ertha s current
situation and through these diagnoses it will be easier to establish what kind of services Ertha will
need from the surrounding community of Monroe and what types of barriers she might encounter in
attempting to access these services.
Ertha s most prominent issues are her inability to get to her prescribed dialysis appointments three
times a week and the difficulties she has in preparing her medications. Based on this evidence a
nursing diagnosis of ineffective health

Arguments Against Net Neutrality
What is net neutrality you may ask? Well net neutrality or open internet is legal content and/or
applications that internet service providers give you on an equal basis. They cannot have any favorite
websites and block others. In my opinion in favor net neutrality. It makes sure every web site is treated
equally. This goes for all video, audio, etc. in my future I want to be a entrepreneur and net neutrality
helps people get access to broadband networks without any problems! Big companies like Apple,
Microsoft, google (and more) also go for net neutrality. As well as those companies there are some
that are against net neutrality. Companies such as AT T, comcast, cox, and verizon are against net
neutrality. They said The rules are too heavy handed and could stifle investment and innovation. Again
in my opinion i think net neutrality is a great thing because i think everyone should be treated equally
and should have the same chance and votes should have a fair play and have no cheating. Of course
pirating is extremely illegal and should be corrected, many web sites are being copyrighted and
stealing people s identities and these innosite people are getting banked ruped and losing there jobs for
using these websites. Net neutrality is basically the human rights but on computers people need and
deserve them. For the people that are against net neutrality, a new FCC chairman, ajit pai, worked as a
lawyer for verizon and plans to get rid of net neutrality which would be a big win for

Ethical Issues Essays
Ethical Issues
Autonomy The ideal of self determination is the basis for autonomy. It is important that a patient be
allowed to decide what should be done to his or her own body. In other words, nobody else has the
right to assert their power over another. Likewise, a physician should be allowed to decide not to
perform a procedure if doing so would conflict with his or her values. In the Cruzan case, Nancy s
autonomy by way of her parents substituted judgment was overridden in favor of the State of Missouri
s policy to preserve life. Although the Supreme Court did not deny that Nancy had the right to refuse
nutrition/hydration, there was not enough clear and convincing evidence to know that refusal was
what Nancy truly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The State did not actually contest Nancy s right to refuse treatment. The State wanted to make
absolutely certain that there was a standard of evidence available to protect the patient in the case that
the surrogates were not acting on behalf of the patient s wishes. Furthermore, disrespecting Nancy s
autonomy would have done more harm than good to the profession of medicine. Patients want
reassurance that the physician will not override their decisions in an act of paternalism (as well
intended as the physician may be). Lastly, the physician may have a conflict with withdrawing
treatment, but he or she must distinguish the difference between withholding a desired treatment
versus withdrawing a treatment that is unwanted.
Competency When discussing ethical issues concerning health care, competency refers not only to the
ability of a patient to make a decision, but also to the ability of the patient to understand that decision.
Included in comprehending the decision is also the patients understanding the consequences of his or
her decision on both oneself and others. The determination of patient competency is not measured on
any standard scale, but rather a common sense determination made by the physician. In order to make
that determination, the physician must realize that the patient need not understand necessarily how the
treatment works, but rather the consequences of accepting various treatments or refusing

Self-Change Project On The Effect Of Watching Tv
Scientist have been researching on the effect of watching television, but generally focused how
watching violence on television have correlation with real life violence. Psychologist and psychiatrist
defines the term TV addition as spending an unusually large amount of time using a substance
dependence as a disorder characterized by criteria that include spending a great deal of time using the
substance; using it more often than one intends; thinking about reducing use or making repeated
unsuccessful efforts to reduce use; giving up important social, family or occupational activities to use
it; and reporting withdrawal symptoms when one stops using it. Throughout my self change project
my intention was to stop watching television more than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

averaging daily failing the measurable goal. The second and third week I failed (see appendix A), but I
averaged two hours daily that was closer to my measured goal and better than first week average.
Engaging more in family conversations which include visiting cousins, family members. Over the
time, my cousins and I were spending time more often than usual weekend nights. Spending time
friends also meant meeting up with buddies and enjoying the day. For example, after the first week of
the project we went to play football in the park. Reading books was another way of coping with
craving TV addiction, I read mostly graphic books because it will keep me engaged longer than
novels. In addition, if I was successful in a day I treated myself with homemade yogurt parfaits and if
I was not successful I had donate a dollar to the youth group in my church. Experts say try cutting out
just one program, and use the time to take a walk or for physical activities, consider removing your
TV for a set period of time and you might find yourself talking to your family again instead of
watching the TV so much. The new remedies were a remarkable process for me as it enabled to gain a

Advent Of The Sasanian Period
1 At the advent of the Sasanian period, Opposition between Zoroastrianism, Sasanian official and
patronized religion, and Semitic religions, specifically Christianism, which traditionally rely on their
holy books, compelled the clergies to give up their mere reliance on oral tradition and commence
writing down the sacred book Avesta . This radical change very soon required them to generate
exposition and exegesis, namely, Zand and subsequently commentaries on both Avesta and Zand
which led to the prosperity of religious and juridical and consequently other types of Middle Persian
literature. Furthermore, Compiled Avesta in that time not only contained religious subjects but also
covered philosophy, logic, rhetoric, and even natural sciences such as medicine and astronomy which
shows that everything was interpreted in connection with religion and consequently required
explanatory treatises. Moreover, Sasanian kings exorbitant sponsorship of Zoroastrianism brought the
priesthood endless political and financial power which enabled them to sponsor religious schools and
consequently promoted composition of religious works more than before.
2 After the downfall of Sasanian dynasty, Zoroastrianism s deprivation of administrative power, the
threat of religious conversion, the decrease in the number of priesthood applicants and defect in the
body of the Zoroastrian clerical system not only led to the expedition of religious texts copying but
also compelled the prominent priests

The Little Bison River flows from small glaciers in the high cirques of the Rocky Mountains east to
the Great Plains of North America, where it ultimately joins the Missouri system. The valley through
the Rockies contains a few small towns which are supported by the ski industry and tourism. Recently,
extensive natural gas deposits have been discovered in the area, and salvage archaeology projects have
been funded to assess the nature of archaeological resources prior to the construction of pipelines,
access roads, and well heads. You have been asked to summarize the prehistory of the area for a book

grasslands of the Little Bison valley, two arbitrarily chosen tributary valleys (Cripple Creek and Silver

sites contain a wide range of artifact types and fire broken rock. Kill sites contain a restricted range of
artifacts (mainly projectile points) and large quantities of bone. Lithic scatters are small sites with no
diagnostic artifacts. Quarries have large quantities of debitage, usually associated with shallow pits
dug into bedrock. The distribution of sites and diagnostic artifacts is shown in Figure 8.1. Recently R.

Comparison Of Yes Man And American Beauty
Product placement is an advertising technique used by companies to promote their products through
appearances in film. Most movies have some product placement, two of these, Yes Man and American
Beauty do it sometimes subtly and other times so blatantly that they break the fictive stance pulling
the audience out of the story. Yes Man and American Beauty don t have much in common as far as
story, yet both films advertise a product within only the first few minutes of screen time. Yes Man
opens with the main character, Carl, renting a video in the recognizable blue and yellow interior of a
Blockbuster. Yes Man was released in 2008 when renting a video from Blockbuster was still
commonplace and the lack of an auditory mention of the company ... Show more content on

A slow pan just barely brings Carl into frame while the Dell monitor still dominates the screen, later
when the camera position changes to allow a new character into the frame Carl turns the monitor so
the Dell logo is still seen. Meanwhile in American Beauty Lester has bought a shiny red 1970 Pontiac
Firebird. Although both the make and model of a product are mentioned and seen, the imagery it
provides corresponds with the story. Red is a major motif in the film for sexuality and the fact that it s
a Firebird alludes to freedom; additionally it s from 1970 around the time Lester must have been a
teenager. The car represents everything Lester is desperately trying to get back. Although the Dell
monitor feels at home in Carl s office setting the way in which it was excessively covered breaks the
fictive stance while the product placement in American Beauty is in line with the film and its character
s motives successfully utilizing product placement while keeping the fictive stance. Annette, in
American Beauty, drives a Mercedes Benz. The garage scene, in which she scolds Lester for his
regression into a weight lifting, pot smoking teenager, keeps a very large Mercedes Benz car logo in
frame. Carl, on the other hand, drives a BMW. As he s pouring gas and speaking to Allison, who he
met by chance at a gas station, the rear end of the car takes up

Prosecution Intimidation And Witness Intimidation
There are many reasons victims do no want to testify in court. Legal cynicism and witness
intimidation are a couple of the top reasons. One reason I feel is overlooked is witness intimidation.
Witness Intimidation is when threats are made by defendants to discourage victims or witnesses of a
crime from reporting or testifying. (Connick and Davis 439) If a victim feels threatened, they often
become hesitant to testify sometimes even to report the crime. With the right incentives, victims and
witnesses would be more likely to participate in the process of testifying against a defendant.
Witness intimidation happens in many forms, such as: looks, threats of violence, physical violence,
property damage, etc. If you commit a crime, you will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These programs are still new in the eyes of the justice system. Victims and witnesses receiving help
were more likely to appear when summoned than those who had not been aided. (Neubauer and
Fradella 236) Victims who are testifying against a defendant are authorized to receive protection,
whether inside or outside of court.
There are services provided to protect the victims or witnesses. When waiting in the courtroom, they
are entitled to a special waiting room, away and out of sight from the defendant and the defendant s
friends and family. By separating the defendant from the victims and witnesses, it lessens the change
of intimidation within the courtroom. Even victims and witnesses that are incarcerated have the option
and availability to be separated from others to keep them safe. By separating from certain groups,
gangs are not able to finish hits on a victim or witness.
Another way to keep a victim or witness in testifying is ensuring that everyone coming in and out of
the courthouse will be on video surveillance. By taping everyone coming into the courthouse,
hopefully it would discourage any intimidation within the courthouse. Also by having surveillance, it
would give the victims and witnesses a sense of security, knowing that anybody coming near them in
the courthouse is on camera.
One program to motivate victims to participate in testifying helps with compensating the victims or
witnesses. During the process of the trial and even before when

What Are The Jurors In 12 Angry Men
Twelve Angry Men is a very interesting film with the debate of twelve jurors in the jury room. They
debated about a teenage boy who has just been tried for the murder of his father. The case is if all
jurors vote guilty, the boy will die and if all jurors vote not guilty, the boy will be free. They started to
find their chairs in the jury room and they started to vote. The result was very funny when eleven
jurors voted guilty and only one against, not guilty. Juror number 8 was the only one against them. He
put more thought into the case than any of the other jurors. He tried to do his best even in the face of
seemingly impossible odds.
The problem process, first they debate about the knife. Some jurors believe a knife of murder ... Show

I like juror number 8 because if he votes guilty like everybody in the jury room a boy is dead, but he
votes not guilty and the result is changed. Juror number 8 was the only one stand up to against another
and defends a murderer when they had 11 ballot votes that is guilty and convicted to die. First thing he
convinces other jurors in the film we could see the murder weapon. Some people said that knife is the
only once they seen but juror number 8 get another knife with 6 dollars. When he got another knife
out, it makes them change their thoughts and think about another part of case. To continue they watch
juror 8 steps as Fonda imitates the shuffling step of the old man, a stroke victim, to see if he could
have gotten to the door in time to see the murderer fleeing. By that detail he makes juror 9 change his
mind.
Juror 9 is a wise old man with his great life experience. he has quite a unique way of looking at the
case. And I liked juror 9 because he is an elderly juror and the second person who changed his mind,
when he heard another juror s thought. Juror 9 is supporting with his experience life when he became
involved with the glass, he helped change the stubborn juror 3 s mind. Jurors 8 and 9 really convinced
11 jurors and the ballots increase vote to not guilty During the debate they voted again. Finally they

Relationship Between British And Native Americans
The seventeenth century was a prime era for early America, with many historic happenings. From the
first British settlers invading on pre claimed Native American land to continual friction between the
two, the relationship between the two groups was unstable and dangerous. The Native Americans
originally considered trying to become allies with the English, but as time went on, a war would
emerge between Natives and the English settlers as to control the land. The English and Native
American relationship changed drastically due to two main factors: English seeking religious freedom
and economic prosperity. First, English seeking religious freedom caused a shift in the English/Native
initial relationship, like the pilgrims did a whole century before. The English wanted to incorporate
their Christian relationship into the Natives religion, as said in Document 1. Be it enacted by this
present assembly that for laying a surer foundation of the conversion of the Indians to Christian
religion, each town, city, borough, and particularly plantation... The English wanted to put a vital part
of their everyday life into the lives of the Natives living and thriving around them. Another source,
Source 3, was Matthaes Merian, An Indian Massacre of 1622, which was initiated by religion. In
1622, it was apparent to the Indians that the colonists intended to expand their holdings in Virginia.
The Indians felt threatened by this physical expansion, but were even more concerned about the

Analysis Of Juggler By Richard Wilbur
The poem Juggler describes how the tricks the juggler acts out for the crowd amaze and intrigue them.
In the poem Juggler by Richard Wilbur, the author uses imagery, figurative language and tone to
describe the juggler as someone who brings happiness and fun to others. The use of imagery,
figurative language, and tone are used to describe the juggler and reveal the speaker s own views
about the world.
Throughout the poem the author uses imagery to describe the juggler s appearance and the tricks he is
accomplishing in his show. For example, Wilbur states, it takes a sky blue juggler with five red
balls...to shake our gravity up. (lines 6 7). The author s description of the juggler as someone who can
shake our gravity up (line 7) shows that the juggler is someone who has a tremendous impact on the
audience and the speaker because the audience is full of serious people and the juggler evokes
happiness and astonishment from the audience. Moreover, by saying this the audience is able to get an
insight into the life of the speaker; we are able to see that not a lot of things happen in the speaker s
life that make the speaker happy. Additionally, Wilbur shows the reader the the juggler is performing,
the author says, Oh, on his toe the table is turning, the broom s Balancing up on his nose, and the plate
whirls. On the tip of the broom! (lines 9 21). We can see the juggler as he is performing his great trick
and how the crowd is happy and amazed at what he is accomplishing through his performance when
the author says, Damn, what a show,we cry... ( line 21). Having the crowd cheer at the juggler as he
completes his trick of the balancing act showed that people are made happy with small things like the
juggling trick the juggler was performing for the crowd.
As the poem progresses, we can see how the juggler manipulates the five red balls he is using to move
around his body. Richard Wilbur uses figurative language like personification to show how the balls
move by the tricks the juggler does. Wilbur says, The balls roll around, wheel on his wheeling hand,
learning the ways of lightness, alter to spheres, grazing his finger ends, cling to their course there. (
lines 8 11). The author explains how the

The Politics Of The Media
News media Is the American news media being honest like it was to be back when our great nation
begin? Many American s don t believe the media today because of the views that the media takes. The
2016 election year was one of the ugliest presidential elections in the history of the United States
between Donald J. Trump and Hillary Clinton. The news media play a big role in the election as they
bring the news to the public about Clinton and Trump. The media is has changed the delivery form the
traditional news delivery, to the now comical delivery in shows like SNL. Because television stations
tend to be either liberal or conservative and craft stories to appeal subtle and unbiased political news
coverage and commentary is increasingly difficult to find. The media has always been under criticism
of being biased because of conservatives and liberals coming out and saying that the news is biased.
Mostly, if they news is not pretrain in their favor for one of the political parties, they tend to say that it
is biased. The part that these political parties are most concerned about is all the undecided voters out
in the United States. And each political party wants those votes because they tend to flip the election
either way. So, the news media has a huge influence in those undecided votes and if the media is not
favoring their party they tend to call the news biased. There are some very good points that come from
each side that need to be look at to determine if the news is

The Importance of Information Literacy Essay
Information literacy skills are used for academic purposes, such as research papers and group
presentations. They are used on the job the ability to find, evaluate, use and share information is an
essential skill. They are also used in consumer decisions, such as which car or vacuum cleaner to
purchase, are critical. Last but not least, they are used by informed citizens in participating fully in a
democratic society through voting (Kenney, 2007).
Information literacy is conceivably the foundation for learning in contemporary environment of
continuous technological change. As information and communication technologies develop rapidly,
and the information environment becomes increasingly complex, educators are recognizing the need

They know where to look for the answer to both the common everyday information needs and for the
answer to the more perplexing, less easily addressed, problems of life. They are familiar not just with
where to look but also with the tools and processes required to find those answers. Zabel (2007) points
out that efforts to train students to be adept at attaining information through a variety of mechanisms
must be integrated, relevant, ongoing, collaborative, and applied if they are to be successful in
preparing those students for success in their academic and professional careers (Zabel ,2007).
For students to be adequately informed about the value of the university library and resources such as
the Internet in information retrieval there must be a careful collaboration between teaching staff and
library staff (Kenney, 2007). The focus in this task, of course, is preparing students not just for the
immediate research project at hand but rather to prepare them to be life long learners, to prepare them
to be successful and productive once they leave the academic environment and take up their chosen
careers (Lauer Yodanis, 2012).
A search for information can take a variety of routes. It might entail a visit to the university library or
to some other organization that maintains information on a particular subject. Academic libraries are
indeed a critical tool in information

Introduction. The Forward Premium Puzzle Can Be Referred
Introduction The forward premium puzzle can be referred to as the forward premium anomaly in the
capital markets. A forward premium can be described as a situation where the future exchange or the
spot future exchange trades at higher spot exchange rate compared to the domestic currency. Using
descriptive measures, the forward premium can be measured as the difference between the forward
rates. The prevailing spot rate and which also includes the domestic currency is expected to increase
when the domestic interest rates (nominal) surpasses foreign interest rates (Lane, and Milesiā€Ferretti,
2011). The premium puzzle can be well seen because the theory explains that if all currencies possess

Individuals with relatively selective information about the quality of a product will selectively
participate in trades which benefit them the most, at the expense of the other trader. Forward contracts
cannot be traded in the exchange markets. Therefore, standard amounts of currency are not traded in
these forms of agreements. The only way they can be cancelled is when both parties collectively
agree. These parties involved in the contract are mostly interested in hedging a foreign exchange
position or even taking a speculative position. The parties with little the information are worried about

Dora Decided To Rescue The Homeless Child
1. The example of the Brazilian film helps Singer to explain his main argument because in the
Brazilian film Dora decided to rescue the homeless child. Dora sold a homeless child to organ
peddlers. However, when she found out that the child might be killed, she decides to rescue the boy
from the peddlers. Dora made a sacrifice in order to help a child to survive a negative circumstance.
2. The main idea of paragraph 9 is that people throughout the world are able to save a child s life, but
they are not willing to do it because they might not be personally connected to their situation or they
might want to buy more material objects for their personal use. Even when a person helps someone

result in the decrease of moral within the work environment. When the staff does not have a self worth

By 1944 World War II had lasted nearly four and a half years. The entire war now depended on the

Many of the British commanders in attendance had served in the first World War and were weary of
sending mass amounts of troops into a battle where the enemy may be laying and waiting for them.
The plan was complicated, precise and heavily relied on the element of surprise. Timing and
coordination were of great importance, a failure at one of the hundred points could send the whole
balanced plan in to chaos. The first assault wave would have eight division, close to
80,000 men. Three of the eight divisions, 1 of Britain and two of the United States, would be airborne
paratroopers and glider troops that would be dropped at night. The other five divisions would be
Infantry divisions and would land on five beaches at the crack of dawn. After the
Atlantic Wall had been broken by the first assault and a stable beachhead was obtained, more than
thirty nine divisions would rapidly pour in.
Capturing a strong hold of a beachhead was crucial to the success of the invasion. The beachhead
would need to be able to hold back the inevitable counterattack of strong German forces. A port would
have to be seized to be able to supply necessary supplies for land invasion.
A strategic drop was to be made at the Contentin Peninsula of Normandy because its North was

Football Corruption In The United States
In May 2015, U.S. federal prosecutors released cases of corruption by officials and associates
connected to FIFA, the governing body of all football. Nine current or former FIFA figures and five
involved in sports marketing, were connected to wire fraud, racketeering, and money laundering. They
were indicted on suspicion of receiving $150 million in bribes. The investigation focused on the
officials that were bribed for their vote on the host of the next two World Cups that landed in Russia
for 2018 and Qatar for 2022. Soccer federation officials were warned of the intense heat in Qatar

to do wrong, they will also try to hide it, (ESPN Staff, 2015). He went on to say Those who are
corrupt in football are in a minority, like in society and must be held responsible for their actions.
Football cannot be the exception to the rule. There can be no place for corruption of any kind (ESPN
Staff, 2015). Sepp Blatter also blamed the United States for the eight year ban awarded to him for
violating FIFA s ethics rules when he approved a $2 million payment to then FIFA Vice President and
President of the Union of European Football Associations, Michel Platini. Blatter stated in a news
conference If we had awarded the World Cup in 2022 to the USA, we would not be here. (Perez,
2015). Blatter opened the news conference by saying I regret I am a punching ball and for my
organization I have served with my heart and conscience for 41 years, Specifically I regret for all the
team members working in FIFA (Perez, 2015). There was no apology for the alleged improper
payment from Blatter. I am not ashamed, Blatter said. I regret, but I am not ashamed. I ashamed. The
information stated above shows how FIFA ineffectively managed this crisis by first, having the wrong
person speak for the company. Secondly, the President of FIFA refused responsibility for any of the
actions that occurred. Lastly, FIFA failed to repair the reputation loss by not taking action toward Sepp

In the world of professional sports, teams value youth, searching for the next super star. Whether it is
inking the highly coveted free agent, or rebuilding through drafts, General Managers have put a
premium on young athletes, hoping that these youngsters will become the face of the franchise.
Age and experience has seem to taken a back seat for teams. While it is important to develop young
prospects, veteran leadership is often hard to find during games, in the locker room, and particularly
during the playoffs. There are four current players in the National Hockey League who are still
excelling well into their 40 s, contributing on a nightly basis. They are Martin Brodeur, Teemu
Selanne, Jaromir Jagr, and Daniel Alfredsson.
Daniel Alfredsoon, the longtime captain of the Ottawa Senators, now plays for the Detroit Red Wings.
Alfredsson is 41 years old and is currently second on the team this season in goals, having lit the lamp
17 times. With injuries to stars Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg, Alfredsson has been able to step
up and provide the scoring that Detroit desperately sought when its two stars went down with injuries.
He also has 26 assists on the season and is helping the Red Wings make a late season push for the

What Is The Literary Criticism Of The Devil And Tom Walker

Literary Analysis: The Devil and Tom Walker
The Devil and Tom Walker is a short story written by Washington Irving. The story is about a legend
of a pirates treasure hidden in a swamp and how a miserly man named Tom Walker finds it on his way
home through a swamp. When Tom is in the swamp a dark tall man, Old Scratch, who Tom recognizes
as the Devil, offers Tom a deal for the treasure. Tom goes home and tells his wife about the deal the
Devil gave him, her greedy made her to take all their valuable possessions and go bargain with the
Devil for the treasure. When she didn t return Tom Walker decided to go look for his wife. When Tom
was looking for her, he found her apron, liver, and her heart tied up to a tree. After seeing this Tom
decided to make the deal with the Devil. The Devil tells Tom that he must do services to the devil for
the treasure. He first tells Tom to become a slaver trader; however Tom refuses to become one. Finally
the Devil tells Tom to become a corrupted money loaner, which he agrees to, so he moves to Boston
and becomes a moneylender. While at Boston Tom regrets doing the deal with the Devil and tries
going to zealous church in a hope to redeem his soul for what has he done; however it was too late for
Tom Walker. One afternoon while Tom s victims were begging him for a delay, Tom lost his patience
and his pity and yelled The Devil take me... if I have made a farthing! (Irving, The Devil and Tom
Walker). Immediately after this statement Tom hears three knocks on his door and the Devil comes for
Tom and rides away with him on his horse. The next day Tom s house and all his belongings are burnt
down, and Tom is never seen ever again.
In this story we can see many interesting facts about the main character Tom Walker such as his
relations with other characters and his own beliefs. In the story we can see how Tom doesn t accept the
deal with the Devil at first, but when his wife dies in hands of the Devil, Tom Walker now accepts to
do the deal; however he doesn t accept because he feels like he has lost everything but because now
his wife can t take away any part of the treasure and now he will do the things he wants for his own
good and not to please

The Effects Of Disordered Eating Behavior On College...
The Impact of Disordered Eating Behavior on College Relationships: A Qualitative Study Research on
eating disorders has historically focused on experiences of those suffering from the disorders;
however, the National Institutes of Health warns that these disorders can also impact suffers families
(Chavez amp; Insel, 2007). The DSM 5 characterizes eating disorders as persistent disturbances in
eating behavior resulting in (a) abnormalities in food consumption or absorption and (b) impairment
of physical health or psychosocial functioning (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Recently
researchers have extended their eating disorder investigations to explore effects of these disorders on
families, finding that a child s eating disorder can cause clinically significant distress in parents and
lead to disruptions in family dynamics (Hillege, Beale, amp; McMaster, 2006; Keitel, Parisi, amp;
Whitney, 2010; Leonidas amp; Santos, 2014). Forty percent of parents who have a child with an eating
disorder experience distress (Whitney, Haigh, Weinman, amp; Treasure, 2007). Family fracturing,
decreased coping ability, sibling distress, personal sacrifice, and social isolation contribute to families
distress (Hillege, Beale, amp; McMaster, 2006; Keitel et al., 2010). Additionally, across the majority
(58%) of studies reviewed, researchers found that feelings of conflict, loss, guilt, and sacrifice were
characteristic of relationships within families whose child is

David Ogilvy s Confessions Of An Ad Man
Advertising drives today s modern world. Mostly every company advertises their products, whether it
s for food, clothing, housewares, you name it. An ad can make a consumer feel like they not only want
a product, but need a product. The product can become so enticing to the consumer when the ad
describes its many features, or its great qualities, that consumers will proceed to buy the product. This
is how an ad works; the advertising agency wants you to buy the company s product. Without ads, you
would just buy what you believed was best without any influence. Advertising has been around for
ages, however the beginning of what we know as advertising today started with David Ogilvy. Ogilvy

Confessions of an Ad Man is considered one of the best pieces of advice one can get when entering
into advertising, or really business for that matter. The book is divided into chapters: How to Get
Clients, How to Keep Clients, and a controversial chapter, Should
Advertising Be Abolished? In the book, Ogilvy states, I finally became an advertising agent on
Madison Avenue; the revenues of my nineteen clients are now greater than the revenue of Her
Majesty s Government (2). Ogilvy was a master at advertising, and his wealth proved it. Ogilvy
attributes his success of running an ad agency to the same principles that apply to running a kitchen.
Combining these two practices puts into perspective how Ogilvy s past really did help and shape him
into the advertising professional he became. Ogilvy gave numerous pieces of advice and insight of
how to run his agency, for example advice on work ethics. I admire

The Importance Of Violent Crime
The last distinction between Saratoga County and Bronx County is violent crime. The measuring for
the violent crimes is through the amount of reported violent crimes such as homicide, rape, robbery in
100,000 people. Violent crime can cause people afraid to exercise outside, elevate the stress level in
daily activities, and increase the prevalence of other related diseases ( Violent Crime Description ,
2017). The data from the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute ( Compare Counties ,
2017) addressed that, the amount of violent crime in New York City is 394, in the Bronx is 621 and in
Saratoga is 80. From the interpretation of these data, the information can be understood that the
amount of violent crime in Bronx County is higher than Saratoga County and overall New York City.
Saratoga County is even much lower than the overall New York City. When it is applied to knowledge,
a lower number of violent crime in a population, the healthier they will be. Consequently, Saratoga
County is healthier than Bronx County.
Where does the data come from and how fair are the measures in county health rankings? I will
review the measures of adult obesity, injury death, and adult smoking to answer these questions.
The first measure is adult obesity, which use BRFSS method. It is a continuing state level telephone
survey to the population who older than eighteen years old ( Adult Obesity , 2017). The BRFSS
method has a high quality of reliability and validity. Nevertheless,

Malaria As A Vector Borne Disease
Malaria
Introduction
Malaria is a Vector borne disease that affects millions of people every year. It is responsible for over
600,000 deaths yearly. It has the highest infection rate in countries in Africa, this is due to the climate
and health practices. It is carried to humans primarily through mosquitos who transfer between people
when they bite them. In this way, the mosquito is the transport between two humans for the disease.
The disease is transferred through blood and continues to the liver where it enters liver cells. From
there it is put back into the blood in larger numbers and is carried around the body to hijack and shut
down many different systems and functions. In this way it involves almost every system in the body.

Since Smallpox is no longer a danger people are no longer immune to it so if it did get out then it
would cause a pandemic. Malaria has less of a chance of that because it requires mosquitos for rapid
spreading, but there is still a danger of that. I have twice traveled to a country that is at risk for
malaria. If I had contracted it there I could easily have returned to America with it inside me without
being aware of it. This is the only known way that the disease still enters the country.
Malaria s age speaks of an adaptability to it, when comparing a sample from ancient China to one
today there are huge differences to be seen. This indicates that Malaria has a large past that there is
very little known about. Possibly the answer to the ideal treatment lives in its past. By looking at the
past it is possible to see how to form the future.
Anatomy Physiology
Malaria enters the bloodstream with the bite of an infected mosquito it is called a sporocyte. It then
travels to the liver where it rapidly multiplies which is called exo erythrocytic replication
(malaria.com). From there it travels again into the bloodstream. Merozoites infect red blood cells and
continue to replicate there, this bursts the cell. The bursting of the cell spreads the infection and causes
many of the symptoms of Malaria. The infected blood cells also stick to the walls of small blood

Parker s Back by Flannery O Connor
To the uninitiated, the significance of Flannery O Connor s Parker s Back can seem at once cold and
dispassionate, as well as almost absurdly stark and violent. Her short stories routinely end in
horrendous, freak fatalities or, at the very least, a character s emotional devastation. Flannery O
Connor is a Christian writer, and her work is message oriented, yet she is far too brilliant a stylist to
tip her hand; like all good writers, crass didacticism is abhorrent to her. Unlike some more cryptic
writers, O Connor was happy to discuss the conceptual and philosophical underpinnings of her stories,
and this candor is a godsend for the researcher that seeks to know what makes the writer tick.

For me, the most chilling aspect of the story is the description of a prophetic water stain above Asbury

Thematic Elements
This concept of displacement runs throughout O Connor s work, and it is essentially a displacement
from the world of the one true God, a theological displacement, although within the context of the
story it is more social, based on the nature of the freak s position in the society. Very often, the
grotesque elements of O Connor s stories are balanced out by anagogical ones. Again, the latter are not
specifically symbols, for symbols work contextually to represent interactive story elements, whereas
O Connor s anagogical elements are just there, they wander in and out of the action; they may have
symbolic significance, but it never comes directly into play as a plot element. Facing death is another
thematic element that recurs often in O Connor, for obvious reasons, both personal and religious. 23 O
Connor admits as much herself, in an essay in which she discusses A Good Man is Hard to Find : The
heroine of the story, the Grandmother, is in the most significant position life offers the Christian.
She is facing death. 24 This last quote speaks volumes; it is probably the single most significant and
telling remark the student of Flannery O Connor can have in his attempt to understand her work.
Clearly facing death as a Christian was the motivational engine that

Luther was adamant that the church must begin and end with the Word of God and that Jesus was the
Word made flesh.2 Luther believed that Jesus Christ created the Bible and the church and therefore it
was impossible for the church to create the Bible because it was the inspired Word of God.3 The Bible
was the one and only authority of the Church and nothing else compared. His beliefs lead him into
conflict with the Catholics who believed that they had the authority over the church. Out of this belief
in the Word of God came all of His other theological teachings such as salvation by grace, the
sacraments of the church, the law and the gospel, and the cross.4 His belief that he did not have to
work for God s approval but that it was given to him freely by grace and this was a starting point for
all of his other views to really take shape. In so doing this he found a boldness to stand up for his
beliefs and went down in history when he nailed the Ninety Five Thesis to the door of the Church at

Why Was Ancient Greek Culture Important
The Importance of Ancient Greek Culture
The ancient Greeks were unquestionably a gargantuan reason that today s civilizations are remarkably
developed. Their ideas have affected multiple generations. In many ways too. For example their
political, religious, and economic structures have all altered the United States and even the world.
These three aspects are just a few instances of the importance of Ancient Greece. These, however, are
the main reasons that Ancient Greece was so esteemed.
One aspect of culture that was essential in ancient Greece was politics. Before most of ancient Greece
had a democratic or oligarchical type of government, most of them were monarchies; in other words,
they were governments controlled by kings. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is displayed in Sophocles s play where the text reads: You know your orders: take her to the vault
and leave her alone there. And if she lives or dies, that s her affair, not ours: our hands are clean .
Creon had enough trust in the gods that he decided to basically force Antigone to pray to the gods to
let her live. She was left in a vault where she had no contact with anybody. While some Greeks did
believe in the gods to a great extent, there is also evidence that most of them did not. Many of Greeks
did not regularly pray to the gods. This is proven in the quote: ...it is easy to overlook the fact that
most Greeks believed in their gods in roughly the modern sense of the term and that they prayed in a
time of crisis not merely to the relevant deity... . This evinces that it was only crucial to pray when
there was a crisis or vital problem. Obviously, it is clear to see that religion was important to the
Greeks, but another aspect that was important was the economy.
Finally, the economic aspect of ancient Greece was important to the Greek culture. If a Greek had
more wealth, it would display that they had more authority and power than other poorer citizens.
Sophocles 441 B.C. play Antigone explains, however, in the quote, ...the wisest have sometimes been
known to count a few coins too many. Creon contrastingly expresses his idea of wealth. He clarifies
that the economic system is imperfect and should be improved. He basically explains that

The minute to minute regulation of calcium is maintained through PTH keeping the calcium concentration within a narrow normal range. PTH stimulates renal tubular calcium reabsorption and bone resorption. It also increases intestinal calcium absorption mediated by increased calcitriol production. Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) is an endocrine disorder characterized by autonomous production of parathyroid hormone. The increase in PTH secretion in primary hyperparathyroidism is, in part, due to an elevation in set point. The increase in the set point ranging between 15 to 30 percent above that of a normal parathyroid gland is the major determinant of the severity ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Prenatal Levels Of Cortisol And Placental Corticotropin... During pregnancy, the positive feedback loop that plays a part in regulating products of the HPA axis is altered. Prenatal levels of cortisol and placental corticotropin releasing hormone (pCRH) have been shown to be elevated during pregnancy. Placental corticotropin releasing hormone is considered a placental clock that changes the development of the onset of parturition (Glynn, Davis Sandman, 2013). According to Glynn et al., these elevations have been linked to changes in the sensitivity of cortisol in the anterior pituitary and also to a decline in corticotropin releasing hormone secretion centrally. Also, the HPA refractory period is shown to increase when additions of more extreme adrenal insufficiencies occur. A longer refractory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is in contrast with the low levels of CRH immunoreactivity in plasma found in women who are not pregnant. Women with higher levels of pCRH during pregnancy were more likely to display symptoms of postpartum depression three months after giving birth (Glynn et al., 2013). Also, the HPA axis experiences a diminished response across different stressors in pregnancy. Cortisol levels have been found to decrease quickly after birth. Also, many areas of the body are dampened due to the diminished response experienced. These include more areas than the HPA axis, including a dampened blood pressure and a dampened heart rate (Glynn, Davis, Sandman, 2013). The Glynn et al. study found that administration of CRH during the third trimester actually produced no response in the women studied (2013). In addition to parts of the body being dampened, weakened psychological responses to stress have been shown. It is believed that these act as an adaptive value that protects the mother and benefits the child. One of the HPA axis alterations postpartum is hyporesponsivity. With this hyporesponsivity in the HPA axis, two different causes have been proposed. One proposed cause is that a mild adrenal suppression could be due to the sensitivity at the hypothalamus or its regulatory inputs associated with a decrease in CRH secretion (Glynn Sandman, 2014). Nursing Diagnoses And Its Effects On The United States Our client, Ertha Williams is a 99 year old female who lives alone in a low income apartment complex on the second floor in Monroe, Michigan. Ertha suffers from chronic kidney disease and has a history of hypertension and type one diabetes. Due to her chronic kidney disease Ertha has regular scheduled dialysis appointments three times a week, but since the death of her son and husband and her inability to drive it is difficult for Ertha to get to her dialysis appointments. She also has difficulties preparing the multiple medication she is required to take to manage her hypertension and diabetes. After her last dialysis appointment the nurse reported that Ertha appeared frail and emaciated. Ertha herself also stated that she worries about financial issues frequently and has good and bad days occasionally. Based on these findings Ertha is in need of some assistance to help alleviate some of the problems and stresses she is undergoing. Several nursing diagnoses can be established based on Ertha s current situation and through these diagnoses it will be easier to establish what kind of services Ertha will need from the surrounding community of Monroe and what types of barriers she might encounter in attempting to access these services. Ertha s most prominent issues are her inability to get to her prescribed dialysis appointments three times a week and the difficulties she has in preparing her medications. Well net neutrality or open internet is legal content and/or applications that internet service providers give you on an equal basis. They cannot have any favorite websites and block others. In my opinion in favor net neutrality. It makes sure every web site is treated equally. This goes for all video, audio, etc. in my future I want to be a entrepreneur and net neutrality helps people get access to broadband networks without any problems! Big companies like Apple, Microsoft, google (and more) also go for net neutrality. As well as those companies there are some that are against net neutrality. Companies such as AT T, comcast, cox, and verizon are against net neutrality. They said The rules are too heavy handed and could stifle investment and innovation. Again in my opinion i think net neutrality is a great thing because i think everyone should be treated equally and should have the same chance and votes should have a fair play and have no cheating. Of course pirating is extremely illegal and should be corrected, many web sites are being copyrighted and stealing people s identities and these innosite people are getting banked ruped and losing there jobs for using these websites. It is important that a patient be allowed to decide what should be done to his or her own body. In other words, nobody else has the right to assert their power over another. In the Cruzan case, Nancy s autonomy by way of her parents substituted judgment was overridden in favor of the State of Missouri s policy to preserve life. Patients want reassurance that the physician will not override their decisions in an act of paternalism (as well intended as the physician may be). Lastly, the physician may have a conflict with withdrawing treatment, but he or she must distinguish the difference between withholding a desired treatment versus withdrawing a treatment that is unwanted. Competency When discussing ethical issues concerning health care, competency refers not only to the ability of a patient to make a decision, but also to the ability of the patient to understand that decision. Included in comprehending the decision is also the patients understanding the consequences of his or her decision on both oneself and others. The determination of patient competency is not measured on any standard scale, but rather a common sense determination made by the physician. Advent Of The Sasanian Period 1 At the advent of the Sasanian period, Opposition between Zoroastrianism, Sasanian official and patronized religion, and Semitic religions, specifically Christianism, which traditionally rely on their holy books, compelled the clergies to give up their mere reliance on oral tradition and commence writing down the sacred book Avesta . This radical change very soon required them to generate exposition and exegesis, namely, Zand and subsequently commentaries on both Avesta and Zand which led to the prosperity of religious and juridical and consequently other types of Middle Persian literature. Furthermore, Compiled Avesta in that time not only contained religious subjects but also covered philosophy, logic, rhetoric, and even natural sciences such as medicine and astronomy which shows that everything was interpreted in connection with religion and consequently required explanatory treatises. In the poem Juggler by Richard Wilbur, the author uses imagery, figurative language and tone to describe the juggler as someone who brings happiness and fun to others. The use of imagery, figurative language, and tone are used to describe the juggler and reveal the speaker s own views about the world. Throughout the poem the author uses imagery to describe the juggler s appearance and the tricks he is accomplishing in his show. For example, Wilbur states, it takes a sky blue juggler with five red balls...to shake our gravity up. (lines 6 7). The author s description of the juggler as someone who can shake our gravity up (line 7) shows that the juggler is someone who has a tremendous impact on the audience and the speaker because the audience is full of serious people and the juggler evokes happiness and astonishment from the audience. Moreover, by saying this the audience is able to get an insight into the life of the speaker; we are able to see that not a lot of things happen in the speaker s life that make the speaker happy. Additionally, Wilbur shows the reader the the juggler is performing, the author says, Oh, on his toe the table is turning, the broom s Balancing up on his nose, and the plate whirls. We can see the juggler as he is performing his great trick and how the crowd is happy and amazed at what he is accomplishing through his performance when the author says, Damn, what a show,we cry... ( line 21). Having the crowd cheer at the juggler as he completes his trick of the balancing act showed that people are made happy with small things like the juggling trick the juggler was performing for the crowd. As the poem progresses, we can see how the juggler manipulates the five red balls he is using to move around his body. Richard Wilbur uses figurative language like personification to show how the balls move by the tricks the juggler does. • 28. Professional Hockey Players In the world of professional sports, teams value youth, searching for the next super star. Whether it is inking the highly coveted free agent, or rebuilding through drafts, General Managers have put a premium on young athletes, hoping that these youngsters will become the face of the franchise. Age and experience has seem to taken a back seat for teams. While it is important to develop young prospects, veteran leadership is often hard to find during games, in the locker room, and particularly during the playoffs. There are four current players in the National Hockey League who are still excelling well into their 40 s, contributing on a nightly basis. They are Martin Brodeur, Teemu Selanne, Jaromir Jagr, and Daniel Alfredsson. Daniel Alfredsoon, the longtime captain of the Ottawa Senators, now plays for the Detroit Red Wings. Alfredsson is 41 years old and is currently second on the team this season in goals, having lit the lamp 17 times. With injuries to stars Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg, Alfredsson has been able to step up and provide the scoring that Detroit desperately sought when its two stars went down with injuries. He also has 26 assists on the season and is helping the Red Wings make a late season push for the playoffs. Alfredsson participated in his 5th Olympic games this February as a member of Sweden s team. He had four points in five games, registering two goals and two assists to help his country earn a silver medal after falling to Canada. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 30. The Effects Of Disordered Eating Behavior On College... The Impact of Disordered Eating Behavior on College Relationships: A Qualitative Study Research on eating disorders has historically focused on experiences of those suffering from the disorders; however, the National Institutes of Health warns that these disorders can also impact suffers families (Chavez amp; Insel, 2007). The DSM 5 characterizes eating disorders as persistent disturbances in eating behavior resulting in (a) abnormalities in food consumption or absorption and (b) impairment of physical health or psychosocial functioning (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Recently researchers have extended their eating disorder investigations to explore effects of these disorders on families, finding that a child s eating disorder can cause clinically significant distress in parents and lead to disruptions in family dynamics (Hillege, Beale, amp; McMaster, 2006; Keitel, Parisi, amp; Whitney, 2010; Leonidas amp; Santos, 2014). Forty percent of parents who have a child with an eating disorder experience distress (Whitney, Haigh, Weinman, amp; Treasure, 2007). Family fracturing, decreased coping ability, sibling distress, personal sacrifice, and social isolation contribute to families distress (Hillege, Beale, amp; McMaster, 2006; Keitel et al., 2010). Additionally, across the majority (58%) of studies reviewed, researchers found that feelings of conflict, loss, guilt, and sacrifice were characteristic of relationships within families whose child is ... • 31. David Ogilvy s Confessions Of An Ad Man Advertising drives today s modern world. Mostly every company advertises their products, whether it s for food, clothing, housewares, you name it. An ad can make a consumer feel like they not only want a product, but need a product. The product can become so enticing to the consumer when the ad describes its many features, or its great qualities, that consumers will proceed to buy the product. This is how an ad works; the advertising agency wants you to buy the company s product. Without ads, you would just buy what you believed was best without any influence. Advertising has been around for ages, however the beginning of what we know as advertising today started with David Ogilvy. Ogilvy was an advertising professional who some call The Father ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ogilvy wrote a book called Confessions of an Ad Man which reflected on his experiences of entering the advertising business and how he became successful, as well as how to navigate in the advertising world. Confessions of an Ad Man is considered one of the best pieces of advice one can get when entering into advertising, or really business for that matter. The book is divided into chapters: How to Get Clients, How to Keep Clients, and a controversial chapter, Should Advertising Be Abolished? In the book, Ogilvy states, I finally became an advertising agent on Madison Avenue; the revenues of my nineteen clients are now greater than the revenue of Her Majesty s Government (2). Ogilvy was a master at advertising, and his wealth proved it. Ogilvy attributes his success of running an ad agency to the same principles that apply to running a kitchen. Combining these two practices puts into perspective how Ogilvy s past really did help and shape him into the advertising professional he became. Ogilvy gave numerous pieces of advice and insight of how to run his agency, for example advice on work ethics. I admire ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. The Importance Of Violent Crime The last distinction between Saratoga County and Bronx County is violent crime. The measuring for the violent crimes is through the amount of reported violent crimes such as homicide, rape, robbery in 100,000 people. Violent crime can cause people afraid to exercise outside, elevate the stress level in daily activities, and increase the prevalence of other related diseases ( Violent Crime Description , 2017). The data from the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute ( Compare Counties , 2017) addressed that, the amount of violent crime in New York City is 394, in the Bronx is 621 and in Saratoga is 80. From the interpretation of these data, the information can be understood that the amount of violent crime in Bronx County is higher than Saratoga County and overall New York City. Saratoga County is even much lower than the overall New York City. When it is applied to knowledge, a lower number of violent crime in a population, the healthier they will be. Consequently, Saratoga County is healthier than Bronx County. Where does the data come from and how fair are the measures in county health rankings? I will review the measures of adult obesity, injury death, and adult smoking to answer these questions. The first measure is adult obesity, which use BRFSS method. It is a continuing state level telephone survey to the population who older than eighteen years old ( Adult Obesity , 2017). The BRFSS method has a high quality of reliability and validity. It has the highest infection rate in countries in Africa, this is due to the climate and health practices. It is carried to humans primarily through mosquitos who transfer between people when they bite them. In this way, the mosquito is the transport between two humans for the disease. The disease is transferred through blood and continues to the liver where it enters liver cells. From there it is put back into the blood in larger numbers and is carried around the body to hijack and shut down many different systems and functions. Since Smallpox is no longer a danger people are no longer immune to it so if it did get out then it would cause a pandemic. Malaria has less of a chance of that because it requires mosquitos for rapid spreading, but there is still a danger of that. I have twice traveled to a country that is at risk for malaria. If I had contracted it there I could easily have returned to America with it inside me without being aware of it. This is the only known way that the disease still enters the country. Malaria s age speaks of an adaptability to it, when comparing a sample from ancient China to one today there are huge differences to be seen. This indicates that Malaria has a large past that there is very little known about. Possibly the answer to the ideal treatment lives in its past. By looking at the past it is possible to see how to form the future. Anatomy Physiology Malaria enters the bloodstream with the bite of an infected mosquito it is called a sporocyte. It then travels to the liver where it rapidly multiplies which is called exo erythrocytic replication (malaria.com). From there it travels again into the bloodstream. Merozoites infect red blood cells and continue to replicate there, this bursts the cell. The bursting of the cell spreads the infection and causes many of the symptoms of Malaria. • 34. Parker s Back by Flannery O Connor To the uninitiated, the significance of Flannery O Connor s Parker s Back can seem at once cold and dispassionate, as well as almost absurdly stark and violent. Her short stories routinely end in horrendous, freak fatalities or, at the very least, a character s emotional devastation. Flannery O Connor is a Christian writer, and her work is message oriented, yet she is far too brilliant a stylist to tip her hand; like all good writers, crass didacticism is abhorrent to her. Unlike some more cryptic writers, O Connor was happy to discuss the conceptual and philosophical underpinnings of her stories, and this candor is a godsend for the researcher that seeks to know what makes the writer tick. For me, the most chilling aspect of the story is the description of a prophetic water stain above Asbury s bed: Thematic Elements This concept of displacement runs throughout O Connor s work, and it is essentially a displacement from the world of the one true God, a theological displacement, although within the context of the story it is more social, based on the nature of the freak s position in the society. Very often, the grotesque elements of O Connor s stories are balanced out by anagogical ones. Again, the latter are not specifically symbols, for symbols work contextually to represent interactive story elements, whereas O Connor s anagogical elements are just there, they wander in and out of the action; they may have symbolic significance, but it never comes directly into play as a plot element. Facing death is another thematic element that recurs often in O Connor, for obvious reasons, both personal and religious. 23 O Connor admits as much herself, in an essay in which she discusses A Good Man is Hard to Find : The heroine of the story, the Grandmother, is in the most significant position life offers the Christian. She is facing death. 24 This last quote speaks volumes; it is probably the single most significant and telling remark the student of Flannery O Connor can have in his attempt to understand her work. Clearly facing death as a Christian was the motivational engine that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Luther was adamant that the church must begin and end with the Word of God and that Jesus was the Word made flesh.2 Luther believed that Jesus Christ created the Bible and the church and therefore it was impossible for the church to create the Bible because it was the inspired Word of God.3 The Bible was the one and only authority of the Church and nothing else compared. His beliefs lead him into conflict with the Catholics who believed that they had the authority over the church. Out of this belief in the Word of God came all of His other theological teachings such as salvation by grace, the sacraments of the church, the law and the gospel, and the cross.4 His belief that he did not have to work for God s approval but that it was given to him freely by grace and this was a starting point for all of his other views to really take shape. In so doing this he found a boldness to stand up for his beliefs and went down in history when he nailed the Ninety Five Thesis to the door of the Church at Wittenburg.5 There was new technology taking place namely the invention of the printing press and the world was growing and moving forward.6

Their ideas have affected multiple generations. In many ways too. For example their political, religious, and economic structures have all altered the United States and even the world. These three aspects are just a few instances of the importance of Ancient Greece. These, however, are the main reasons that Ancient Greece was so esteemed. She was left in a vault where she had no contact with anybody. While some Greeks did believe in the gods to a great extent, there is also evidence that most of them did not. Many of Greeks did not regularly pray to the gods. This is proven in the quote: ...it is easy to overlook the fact that most Greeks believed in their gods in roughly the modern sense of the term and that they prayed in a time of crisis not merely to the relevant deity... .
