Male gametes are pollen and female gametes are eggs or ovules. Complete flowers have pistils, stamens, sepals and petals, while incomplete flowers are missing parts. Pollination is the transfer of pollen to the stigma by bees, wind or other vectors, and can be cross-pollination between plants or self-pollination within a plant. Seeds contain a radicle, epicotyl, hypocotyl, cotyledon and endosperm, and fruits protect and disperse seeds. Germination ends dormancy as seeds absorb water, activate enzymes and use stored energy.
