The Discovery Of Gold And Australia
The discovery of gold in Australia dramatically changed the course of our steadily developing country.
The gold rush massively impacted every aspect of the nation, although not all these changes were
positive. With the gold rush came the introduction of more diverse culture, increased population and
infrastructure. Before the 1850 s, Australia was a prison colony meant as a punishment for convicts of
the British. However, in just the fifty years after the beginning of the Australian gold rush, Australia
became an independent country. From a wilderness inhabited by convicts to a free and federated
nation in less than half a century. Without the gold rush, our society wouldn t be what it is today. The
discovery of gold sparked a massive influx of immigration to the still forming country of Australia.
During the very early years of the gold rush, NSW and Victoria were the centre for gold mining and
attracted thousands of hopeful diggers. This rapid introduction of new people had many impacts on
Australian society. People came from different points of the world to mine on Australia s gold rich
fields. The majority of were British but many others came from Germany, Italy, France, China and
even America. This created a rich multicultural melting pot that would forever forge a highly diverse
population. A repercussion of a sudden influx of multiculturalism was the targeting of a group of
foreigners that attracted particular attention. These were the Chinese; as their numbers began

An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge Literary Analysis
Romanticized stories are those that show an idyllic yet unrealistic view of reality. It s the picturesque
quality of romance that draws the reader in. One example of this is in An Occurence at Owl Creek
Bridge by Ambrose Bierce. In An Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge, Bierce increases the impact of the
story s ending by romantically depicting Farquhar s escape and following the romantic portrayal with
a sudden snap back to reality. An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge follows a man named Peyton
Farquhar before, during, and after his execution. The ending of the story is told to seem like Farquhar
heroically escapes the execution and makes it back to his loving wife, however, in the last paragraph it
is made clear that the romantically described escape was just what flashed before his eyes during his
death. The romantic depiction of his imagined escape is what makes the ending so powerful. It brings
the reader on a happy journey before harshly turning back to reality. ... Show more content on

The 1947 Roswell Crash Essay
In 1947, an unidentified flying object crashed into the small town of Roswell, New Mexico. The
United States Air Force published a report in 1994. So why do conspiracists still believe an alien
crashed into Roswell? After a hot humid day in July 1947, severe and violent thunderstorms filled the
night sky. Long time farmer, Mac Brazel was used to thunder, and storms out in the country. Although
something about this night was different. He heard an extremely loud crash, though didn t think much
of it. The next morning however, Brazel stumbled upon the debris of a strange object on his farm.
Brazel brought some of the material to a nearby neighbor who urged him to report his find in hopes of
getting a reward. Brazel informed the sheriff ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A nurse friend of Dennis confides in him that she was called by doctors to assist in an alien autopsy.
Even though she is sworn to secrecy, she must confide in someone. She meets Dennis and draws him a
sketch of what she observed during the alien autopsy . Strangely enough, she was transferred from the
funeral home shortly after and never heard from again. The news of the crash soon starts to fade away,
and within the end of the year disappears from the news altogether. Nearly 30 years later, in 1978,
Stanton Friedman was prompted to revisit the crash. Stanton Friedman was an unemployed scientist,
and a part time UFO lecturer. On February 12, 1978 Friedman interviewed a man over the phone who
said he handled the wreckage of a crashed spaceship, but the man, Major Jesse Marcel, couldn t
remember the month or even the year of the event. Marcel expressed that he believed the military had
covered up the recovery of an alien spacecraft. Approximately one year later, William Moore, a
colleague of Friedman, found newspaper clippings of the even that Marcel referred to. The research
that Friedman and Moore uncovered has made the Roswell crash the most celebrated case in the
literature of UFOs. In February of 1980, the National Inquirer ran the interview of Marcel and
Friedman bringing in national and worldwide attention

Safer Gun Legislation Essay
Safer Gun Legislation
The United States ranked #1 highest country to have 88.8 guns per 100 people an average of
270,000,000 ( Should More Gun Control Laws Be Enacted? ). On Feb. 14, 2018, the lives of students,
teachers, and parents at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL would forever be
changed. A former student Nicholas Cruz engaged in a mass shooting taking away 17 innocent lives:
14 students and 3 staff members, traumatizing the lives of fellow students. The Parkland, FL massacre
is the most recent school shooting as students take immediate action in support of a stricter gun
legislation, to prevent the endorsement of lives lost due to fatal school shootings. Firearm regulations

The Entrepreneurial Root Of A Venture Like Makerbot Or Tesla
Assignment 1 Makerbot case study MSCI 602 Spring 2015 Nissrine Nadmi to Mina Allarkhia
Question 1 The entrepreneurial root of a venture like MakerBot or Tesla is pivotal in innovative
strategies required by any venture to enter a new market, become viable and eventually leading the
market. To break into a new market, it is inevitable that entrepreneurs would be faced with extreme
competition from other minor and major market players and other unknown threats. To prepare for
these eventualities, it is essentially that the entrepreneurs should have in depth knowledge of the
existing market, the customerbase within the market, understand the customers needs and how best to

Comedy Of Errors Film Analysis
Hopeless and helpless doth Egeon wend. But to procrastinate his lifeless end. The Comedy of Errors is
one of Shakespeare s earliest and comedic creations, with inspiration drawn from the Roman comedy
Menaechmi. The Royal Shakespeare Company was founded in 1961 with the goal to entertain and
educate audiences on Shakespeare s works, by putting a modern twist on the performances. Their
version of The Comedy of Errors, co produced with Told by an Idiot, manipulates the actor s
movements, language and dramatic tension as well as the elements of theatre in order to convey the
comedy and irony of the play to a young audience.
The play follows the story of two sets of twins, Antipholus and their servants, Dromio, as they
desperately search for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The costumes lacked a time period, making them look very messy and mismatched, with people
wearing leg warmers while others wore bright blue mesh singlets. This mishmash of clothes created a
focus issue as the audience s concentration was turned towards the costumes rather than the acting and
dialogue. It is clear that the creatives were trying to the engage the younger, upper primary audience
with the crazy costumes, but they failed to do so and created confusion over their impact to the
dramatic meaning.
Director Paul Hunter used many of the stylistic elements often seen in Commedia Del Arte
performances. Similar to commedia performance, The Comedy of Errors was designed to be a
travelling show, going from school to school to share their creation and educate students. Due to this,
the set had to be simple and transportable and Vale achieves this successfully by using a simple square
stage but managing to maintain many levels with seats behind the raised stage. Other commedia
elements, such as mask work, is also used in the production to some extent, with both Antipoli
wearing glasses that act as masks. The play also uses the idea of Master and Servants, a noticeable
feature of commedia performances. The creatives also used audience participation to tell the story, by
spraying water on them, getting them to direct actors to hidden

Baseball Is The Most Popular Sports Essay
It is 2011, bottom of the 9th inning with 1 ball and 2 strikes, 2 outs and the Rangers are 1 strike, 1 out,
and just 1 win from a World Series Championship, but then out of nowhere, TRIPLE, TRIPLE. David
Freese had that triple and it scored 2 runs and then he actually 2 innings later won the game with a
walk off home run. That is just one thing that just makes baseball noticed and so popular. It just shows
anything can happen at any time. Everyone deserves to know how popular the sport of baseball is and
that if they ever need to do or watch something, baseball is always right there and the way to go since
it s season is almost year round. Baseball is the most popular sport because it is extremely watched
with all of the people that watch every season, fans just love to talk about it and don t ever stop, and it
has some of the biggest events of the year.
Baseball is extremely watched with all of the people that come to games each season and rightfully so.

The Muscular And Nervous Systems Of Our Body
The Muscular and Nervous Systems of our body are two of eight major body functional systems that
help us maintain homeostasis or in a chemical balance within our bodies. When the body cannot
maintain homeostasis there is usually some sort of sickness or disease that is targeting one of our
major body functions. An example of two diseases that could affect our homeostasis within our
Muscular and Nervous System are Hydrocephalus and Dystonia.
The Nervous System is the system of our body that deal with the many nerves in our body that help us
respond and react to things outside of our body that could or could not be conscious to us. The disease
Hydrocephalus is a disease that affects the Nervous System through the brain. Hydrocephalus is when
fluid that normally would help cushion our brain becomes excessive. This fluid is called cerebrospinal
fluid. By this fluid becoming excessive it puts harmful pressure on the brain. Hydrocephalus can be
categorized into two types. Congenital Hydrocephalus and Acquired Hydrocephalus. Congenital
Hydrocephalus is present at birth. The causes could be genetic or inherited through the parent s genes
or problems during fetus development. Acquired Hydrocephalus is happens after birth and at any age.
Several causes such as head injuries, strokes, infections, tumors, and bleeding in the brain are ways
that can lead a person s diagnoses of Acquired Hydrocephalus. Symptoms patients should look for
after experiencing one of these causes are:

Analysis Of I Am A Farmer By Aika Yamashiro
Aiko Yamashiro is a poet, English major, and the author of Values of Hawai i 2: Ancestral Roots,
Oceanic Views which she published on May 10th, 2017. She compiled stories relating to the values of
Hawaii, including the poem I am a Farmer by U ilani Hideko Kalawe O Kou Ola Ana Kokaua Pulama
Arasato. Arasato writes I am a farmer in the first person perspective; You should stop and listen, the
aina is trying to speak. Reinforces that Arasato is explaining a situation to everyone about the lands of
Hawaii. Arasato s purpose in I am a Farmer is to illustrate events that influenced Hawai i land. From
ancient Hawaiian times, during the time the Ali i ruled, to modern day Hawaii, the land in which
generations were promised, slowly disappeared as hungry real estate people bought it up. Infuriating,
feeling betrayed, and being voided of their land brings darkness to the farmers and the reason why
Arasato creates this poem to explain the history of farmers suffering. I agree with Arasato s claim that
the farming land was wrongfully taken and deserves to be given back to those who rightfully own
them because Hawaii is a place of fertility and where farmers thrive to grow food for its people. It s
been a heritage for generations and if people take care of the land, the land will surely provide back.
Therefore, the poem I am a Farmer explains the history of farming in Hawaii by relating to the past,
explaining the challenges faced, and what the future of farming can be if the

Christmas, Hanukkah, Easter, And Halloween
Christmas, Hanukkah, Easter, and Halloween. All these holidays are associated with sugary treats, but
which one counts on those the most? Recently, the holiday that relies most on candy has become a
highly controversial issue in our community. It can be statistically proven that Easter, in fact, is

Essay on Faith in Fear and Trembling by Kierkegaard
Kierkegaard believes that true faith can only be attained through a double movement of giving up
rationality or logic, while at the same time believing one can understand logically. In Fear and
Trembling Kierkegaard relates true faith to the Knight of infinite resignation and the Knight of faith;
in this paper, I will examine this claim and show why Kierkegaard s analogy is an excellent metaphor
for the double movement which is required in one s quest to attain faith and why. Kierkegaard s
position on faith is represented with the Knight of infinite resignation and the Knight of faith. The
Knight of faith is regarded as the one who believes in that which is absurd. For, he is the knight that is
able to believe in the things that are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So now, not only is Abraham faced with killing his own son, he is also supposed to still be considered
in a religious context to be sacrificing his son. The Knight of infinite resignation sees this
contradiction, this logical impossibility, and is aware of how this command defies rationality. This
knight accepts that, in this life, his beloved son is going to die and that his hand will be the one to
deliver this task. The main point Kierkegaard makes is when he goes on to say that to have faith, one
must have experienced both of these stages. One must experience the stage of infinite resignation
before being able to attain faith. Infinite resignation is the last stage before faith, so that anyone who
has not made this movement does not have faith (Kierkegaard 75). Kierkegaard goes even further on
to explain why, for only in infinite resignation does my eternal validity become transparent to me, and
only then can there be talk of grasping existence on the strength of faith (75). Kierkegaard s position is
made clear, only after one has had to make a decision from a place contradiction, can one truly have
faith. Faith is not just blindly going along and believing against rationale just because that is what you
have been raised or told to do. He addresses this by describing a young girl, Thus that of a young girl
in the face of all difficulties rests assure that her desire will be

Running Back And Delight End Case Study
Positional Scarcity: The Running Back and Tight End positions suffer from the highest degrees of
variance between the top 5 players and the remaining players at their respective positions. The drop
off in fantasy point production between the top and middle tier Running Backs and Tight Ends is
dramatic and securing one player Running Back and Tight End in the first few rounds is imperative.
Once the Rob Gronkowski s, Jimmy Grahams and the Eddie Lacy s are all off the board you will be
acquiring players that will not close to the same point production during most weeks. Therefore,
productive players at Running Back and Tight End are the most sought after early in the draft. While

Women Of The Civil Rights Act Of 1964
During the 1960s, living off one income had become increasingly more difficult to continue living a

In Nielsen s Music 360 study in 2014, 93% of the country s population listens to music with 75% of

The number of people that prefer to listen to music can be considered enormous and as the population

such that most U.S. residents listen to roughly four hours and five minutes of audio each day (Stutz).

On October 29, 1929, later to be known as the notorious Black Tuesday, the stock market crashed, and
the United States was thrust into the Great Depression. Companies became bankrupt one after another,
resulting in more and more Americans being laid off. Soon, it became a common sight to see large
crowds of homeless people waiting outside of soup kitchens and bread lines, no matter what city or

Jennifer Turner DSTL3 TDA 3.1 Communication and Professional relationships with children, young
people amp; adults 1 Explain why effective communication is important in developing positive
relationships with children, young people and adults. 1.1 It is important to adapt communication to
include all children. In my class the children are always greeted with a smile, good morning and how
are you today. Some of the children have news to tell you. I get down to their level and have eye
contact and listen to what they have to say. I always show interest in what they are saying as it boosts
their confidence and shows that you care. When talking to the children I use ... Show more content on

In my class we have a visual time table which lets the children know what they will be doing though
the day. That we go through it in the morning and after lunchtime to reinforce. Some children have
help me signs as they find it hard to ask for help. So they come to us with the sign and will know they
need help. We also use sign language like thumbs up for good work, have you been good, facial
expression like smiling or sad face let children know that they may not be making the right choices.
The children in my class find it very difficult either to sit still or do work or both so they have charts
that have faces on green happy, yellow need to try harder and red sad. The children in my class need
close contact due to their ages or they need more help than other children because of their special
needs. I always give eye contact when working with the children and show that I m interested in what
they are saying. I bend down to their level or sit on a chair and speak to them at the level they can
understand. I m always approachable and friendly and willing to listen or if they just need a hug. 2.2

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), or other wise known as Lou Gehrig s Disease, is a disease that
attacks muscles and brain cells. ALS was first found in 1869 by French neurologist Jean Martin
Charcot, but it wasn t until 1939 that Lou Gehrig brought national and international attention to the
disease (About). The disease got its name from the famous baseball player, Lou Gehrig. He was an all
star first baseman and a king of home runs. His professional baseball career with the New York
Yankees was cut short due to this horrible disease in 1939. He died from it in 1941, at the age of thirty

Music Education Essay
Education is the foundation that our entire society is built on. Without education, society could not
grow and prosper. Without education, we wouldn t have things like electricity, plumbing, or any other
common amenities that is present in our society today. Education is important to not only the children
receiving it, but to their parents and members of the community as a whole. Education is offered to
many in U.S. thanks to public education, and laws that say children must be in school until they are
six teen. Education incorporates not only the four main subjects people usually know, which are
science and math, english, and social studies, but music education as well. Music Education is

( Why Teach Music).
The fact that music incorporates all these different subject areas is just one reason why it helps in other
subjects. Music affects children in many ways. Children who study music have a larger vocabulary
and better reading skills than students who do not study music. This helps them improve their essay
writing, which is an important skill to have in high school and college. Studying music also helps the
brain comprehend speech when there is noise or other distractions going on. This means that there is
an even greater benefit to music education for kids with learning disabilities or children who lose
focus easily. Music education also affects the way a persons brain comprehends the human language.
This allows students to have an easier time learning a second language, which is now a very important
skill to have when applying for jobs. Another benefit is that students who study music have a higher
level of self esteem, and are therefore more confident around others and more willing to express
themselves personality wise and they are more willing to express ideas they have. They are also then
more willing to work as a team. Schools with music programs have, about, a twenty seven percent
higher graduation rate and a nine percent attendance rate than schools without a music program (11

There is no exact age that is best to start learning a musical instrument. There are many stories of

Frida Calderon Biography
Frida Kahlo at birth was named, Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo Calderon and she was born on July
6, 1907 in Coyoacán, Mexico City, Mexico. She was an extraordinary woman and artist whose life
was marked by tragedies which were forever present in her paintings. She portrays her life
experiences, Mexican culture and folklore, political views and autobiographical life in her paintings.
Frida s father was Wilhelm Kahlo born on October 26, 1871 in Pforzheim, Germany, a German Jew of
Hungarian Descent and Frida s mother was Matilde Calderon, born on July 5, 1874 in Mexico City,
Mexico of Spanish Indian descent and a devout Catholic.
Frida Kahlo contracted Polio at a very young age; she was 6 years old and this would be the beginning
event of her experience with pain. She was restricted to bed for a period of 9 months. Her right leg
was deformed and remained thinner than her left leg so she decided to cover her withered leg by
wearing long skirts for the rest of her life. At this young age she experienced pain, isolation and
loneliness since her classmates would tease her and call her names as a result of her right leg
deformity. She found that her imagination was a safe haven to retreat to so no one would know she
was feeling hurt. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Classes such as AP, honors, and advanced are usually based on preparing you for college, getting you
to college and getting you through college. Katy Hopkins says, Kids [who take AP courses] usually
are able to think outside the box; they re better prepared; they have stronger study skills; and the bar is
held up for them at a level where they reach that bar themselves. They already know, This is what my
teacher is going to expect of me or this is what I expect of myself, As you can you tell, kids who take
specifically AP classes, or generally higher level classes, are prepared with many great skills that are
useful in college or even getting through college. Higher level courses may even help students beyond
college and into the work world. High school students must prepare for college if they hope to have a
middle class income...The best standard for preparation for college is a good working knowledge of
the subject matter earned in challenging courses during high school. For further definition, one of the
tools recommended for college preparation is the Advanced Placement Program, administered by the
nonprofit College Board, which also administers the Scholastic Aptitude Test. (reviewjournal.com).
Apparently, Ap courses can be life changing. These courses can help students through high school,
college, and the rest of their lives. Ap classes can even have the same amount of work as an actual
college student. The bottom line is that college is probably the same amount of work as a high school
schedule full of AP classes. (scholarships.com) All in all Ap and higher level classes are to help to not
break you. The classes prepare you not only for college but for life. If these classes are this important

Fructose Intolerance And The Aldolase B Gene And Fructose
Fructose Intolerance is caused by mutations in the aldolase B gene and Fructose 1, 6 biphosphate
aldolase. Both are important because it is responsible for gluconeogenesis and fructose metabolism.
Gluconeogenesis is the metabolic pathway that results in the production of glucose from non
carbohydrate carbon substrates or the opposite of Glycolysis (Figure 1). In simple terms, a mutation
on Fructose 1, 6 biphosphate would both hinder the production of pyruvate and the production of
glucose. Fructose Intolerance is also referred to as Fructose 1 Phosphate Aldolase Deficiency. The
modified enzyme varies in its original function and structure that derived from a restricted genetic
mutation (Cox, O Donnell, Camilleri, and Burghes).
Aldolase B is classified as a Lyase, or an enzyme that catalyzes the breaking of various bonds means
other than hydrolysis and oxidation. Lyase often forms a double bond or a new ring structure. Fructose
Intolerance is caused by mutations in the aldolase B gene which is expressed in the liver (Malay,
Allen, and Tolan). Its molecular compound is shown in Figure 2 and has two active site residues,
Lysine and Glutamate, as well as several charged residues. The functional assignment is complex
because of the proximity of the many charged amino acids found at the active site. Figure 3 shows
where the substitution of Proline for Alanine occur at position 149 (Malay, Allen, and Tolan). The
A149P substitution is known as AP aldolase (Malay, Procious, and

Niels Bohr Accomplishments
Niels Bohr has proven to be one of the most successful chemists throughout history; furthermore,
Bohr has many awards as well as accommodations to the world of chemistry. Bohr, along with his
younger brother, grew up in a genius environment due to his father s profession in physics. While
growing up in a education packed home, his father s profession awakens a potential career ideal for
Bohr. Soon after graduating from Gammelholm Grammar School in 1903, he enrolls at Copenhagen
University. While attending Copenhagen, he earns a degree in Physics under Professor C. Christiansen
in 1909, as well as obtains his doctorate two years later. Not only does Bohr try to follow in his father

Bohr s model, sometimes referred to as the planetary model, was able to provide explanation for
concepts that were previously indescribable. Working off Rutherford s previous work, Bohr was able
to successfully explain the spectrum of the hydrogen atom. While Rutherford s model focused mainly
on the nucleus, Bohr paid greater attention to electrons. The previous model of the atom stated an
electron was an orbiting planet. The problem in this flawed model was that the electron, moving in a
circular path, would be accelerating. Acceleration would create a change in magnetic field, which
would in turn carry energy away from the nucleus. The electron would eventually slow and be
captured by the nucleus. Bohr s model expanded upon Rutherford s and solved many flaws of the
previous model The Bohr Diagram, ). Bohr discovered that the atom consisted of a small, positive
nucleus, with negatively charged electrons traveling around it due to the electrostatic force of coulomb
s law. (Matthews 2010). Bohr stated that electrons travel only in successively larger orbits. The outer
orbits hold more electrons that the inner ones and it s the outer orbits that determine the atom s
chemical properties. Although Bohr s model eliminated many problems of earlier renderings, it was
not without its own flaws. Bohr s model violated the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle because it
states that electrons have both a known orbit

Historical Anatomy And Scientific Anatomy
The history of anatomical illustration attracts the interest of both medical and art historians. Ludwig
Choulant published one of the earliest catalogues of anatomical illustrations in 1852. The Geschichte
und Bibliographie der Anatomischen Abbildung continued to attract attention as Mortimer Frank
revised and translated the catalogue in 1920 and in 1945 an expanded version was published which
remains a useful resource of early anatomical illustration. The 1852 edition included 43 woodcuts and
three chromolithographs to illustrate the entries which range from the earliest Arabic manuscript
illuminations to anatomical atlases published in Choulant s time. Choulant understands the history of
anatomic illustration to allow for an easy distinction between artistic and scientific anatomy. Artistic
anatomy according to Choulant idealises anatomical beauty and overlooks particulars for the sake of
perfection. Scientific anatomy and illustration has a didactic purpose, while artistic anatomy is not
intended to instruct anyone with the exception of other artists. Without doubt, scientific anatomy must
also generalise in order to teach anatomy, though it would be better at displaying the functions and
relative positions of organs than artistic anatomy, where the primary concern lies in musculature.
Choulant dedicates a large section of his study not the social history of medical illustration, which is
also included, but to specific examples from artists books and medical textbooks.

Newell And Rubbermaid Case Study
At first glance, the merger of Newell and Rubbermaid seems very attractive. Newell had a proven
track record of acquiring companies and turning them around to deliver shareholder value. Since the
1960s, Newell had made over 35 strategic acquisitions of commodity producing manufacturing firms
with low operating margins. Acquisitions usually added to shelf space, increase supplier power and
rounded out Newell s good, better, best multiproduct offering. Also, acquired companies were
typically market leaders.
Rubbermaid was one of the most recognized brands in the world, known for its innovative products
and marketing. It also seemed that there was potential for synergies, especially if one looked at the
customer base and distribution channels of the two firms. But the $5B acquisition of Rubbermaid
would be their largest till date, and question to ask would be can Newell turn the company around to
ensure higher margins and ROI within a targeted period of time?
We can analyse the various synergies that could be achieved from this merger using the Eccles Lane
Wilson Framework in Exhibit 1.
No doubt the aim of the acquisition would be to Newellize Rubbermaid If we were to assume that
Newell would expect to make major changes in the first two years to achieve cost savings and increase
revenues, we would have to assume that Newell would achieve synergies across cost and revenues
right from the get go. Given that revenues of $2.4B and net income of $142M, and administrative

The Keynesian Fiscal Policy Solution Aggregate Demand
The Keynesian Fiscal Policy Solution Aggregate Demand Problems
The 1920 s witnessed a rise of a new economic policy which had not yet been seen prior to the great
depression. Before the great depression, the widely accepted economic policy which was implemented
and practiced around the world was called Natural Economics. Natural Economics was a fiscal policy
that embodied the idea that the economy would eventually take care of itself and run freely without
the government s influence. However, the duration of the Great Depression was so substantial that it
exposed natural economics to be ineffective. This lead British economist John Maynard Keynes to
invent his own economic policy that he introduced to economist around the world with the ... Show

In circumstances; such as war, Keynesians economic policy provides a near perfect solution for
boosting an economy. However, without a war to force an increase in demand, an increase in
government spending would snowball into a business cycle of aggregate demand problems. Aggregate
Demand is the total demand for goods and services within a market and consists of four main
components; investment, consumption, government spending and net exports. These coincide directly
with Keynesian s economic fiscal policy. For boosting aggregate demand is the primary focus and
supposed key to Keynesians fiscal policy solution. Since aggregate demand coincides directly with
Keynesian s economic policy, all of the policy s long term problems become aggregate demand
problems. With Keynes policy s increase in government spending comes an initial boost in consumer
spending which then boosts aggregate demand. Businesses increase supply and expand to meet this
boosted demand. However once the fiscal stimulus package runs out, the once increased aggregate
demand begins to decrease. The federal reserve begins to then print more money in order to
compensate for the recently depleted fiscal package in order to maintain the aggregate demand levels.
Additional printing of money lowers the value of the dollar thus causing inflation. As inflation rates
rise in the economy consumers purchasing power decreases. With consumers purchasing power
shrinking the

Pros And Cons Of Bruichladdich
Bruichladdich is no stranger to No Age Statement whisky. In fact over the past ten or twelve years
they ve probably been one of the most visible proponents of the concept. I think this approach was
first viewed by the distillery as a necessary maneuver in order to get whisky on the shelves throughout
the first decade of production after their 2001 reopening.
Considering how fundamentally opposed I am to the idea of opaque marketing with whisky, I imagine
it s somewhat surprising (even to myself, if I m to be honest) how much I adore and support
Bruichladdich.
Let s face it...no other distillery has done as much to reinvigorate the whisky world over the last few
years as Bruichladdich. They ve pushed hard for higher bottling strengths first 46% as a standard, and
now 50%. They ve foregone artificial colouring. They ve made a mockery of the concept of chill
filtration. Their employment of local labour is staggering, especially viewed in contrast to the two man
crews running some of Diageo s multi million litre producers. Their innovative cask play, phenol
manipulation (and exploitation!), terroir first approach, experiments with organic barley,
unprecedented guerrilla marketing, over the top bottle designs and simply unparalleled passion are ...

the sources I ve culled are correct, Bruichladdich simply couldn t keep production at a level that
would support an ongoing 10 year old at this time. That particular malt was met with such positive
acclaim and widespread demand that the distillery finally had to step away from the idea of the Laddie
10 as their core expression and back up a few steps into the NAS territory again to give themselves
some breathing room. The Laddie 10 is still available at the distillery, from what I

Beatles Thesis
The Beatles Music has impacted human lives all throughout history, whether it has been a simple thing
like someone playing their guitar in the streets or an overcrowded performance by an artist. The
reason behind this is because music has been able to express emotions that many can t express into
words and it has grown so much throughout the years that it has exponentially become a statement for
those trying to impact others. A great example of a group, who was able to influence not only lives,
but some say even generations, is The Beatles. Before learning about their fame and success it is
important to understand where it all began and how it all unfolded for these four artists. According to
author Womack Kenneth, who wrote The Beatles Encyclopedia: Everything Fab Four Ringo Starr was
born on July 7 1940, on October 9 John Winston Lennon is born, June 8 1942 James Paul McCartney
is born and lastly in February 25 1943 George Harrison is born and all four were born in Liverpool,
England . Before becoming The Beatles they were once known as The Quarry Men (Womack). Their
encounter occurred on the year 1957 McCarthy first met Lennon and decided to join the Quarry Men
after performing at the Woolton Parish Church Garden Fête in Liverpool and a year after that Harrison
joins the Quarry Men (Womack). Following their partnership that same year in June they record their
first professional tape with songs such as That ll Be the Day and In Spite of All the Danger

Common Toad Behavior
Seismic events, if strong enough, are extremely random earthquakes felt in various parts of the Earth.
As astronomer Seth Shostak once said, We still have no way to eliminate earthquakes, wildfires,
hurricanes, floods or droughts (Seth Shostak). Humans cannot stop earthquakes but they can predict
them using modern technology, geo mapping, and by studying behaviours in animals. In this article
we examine how the Common toad (Bufo bufo) behaves before, during, and after an earthquake and
how this can help humans in understanding the early signs of an earthquake.
Before observing the Common toads behaviour, we must explain what goes on during an earthquake
to fully understand the behavioural changes these toads undergo. Through common knowledge, ...

This is why an internal process that may help toads predict earthquakes can be linked to their olfactory
senses and their epidermis. Toads are amphibians making them sensitive to changes in water
chemistry, since they breed and live a majority of their lives in damp habitats. Grant and colleagues
further study the changes in water chemistry with respect to the effect on toads. When an earthquake
occurs it releases positive hole charge carriers, and are equivalent to *O radicals. This makes them
extremely reactive and highly oxidizing, letting them execute various reactions once they reach the
surface. One of the reactions is oxidizing H2O (water) into H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide). The
oxidization of H2O coupled with the fact that toads live mainly in damp areas gives sufficient
evidence to the change in toad behaviour. Since H2O2 has active electrolytes and toad s skins are
permeable to electrolytes, toads begin to perceive the feeling of H2O2 to the presence of an
earthquake in the near future. So the smell of hydrogen peroxide and the feeling of skin being
permeated is a cue for toads becoming aware of a future earthquake (Rachel A. Grant et al.,

  • 2. The Discovery Of Gold And Australia The discovery of gold in Australia dramatically changed the course of our steadily developing country. The gold rush massively impacted every aspect of the nation, although not all these changes were positive. With the gold rush came the introduction of more diverse culture, increased population and infrastructure. Before the 1850 s, Australia was a prison colony meant as a punishment for convicts of the British. However, in just the fifty years after the beginning of the Australian gold rush, Australia became an independent country. From a wilderness inhabited by convicts to a free and federated nation in less than half a century. Without the gold rush, our society wouldn t be what it is today. The discovery of gold sparked a massive influx of immigration to the still forming country of Australia. During the very early years of the gold rush, NSW and Victoria were the centre for gold mining and attracted thousands of hopeful diggers. This rapid introduction of new people had many impacts on Australian society. People came from different points of the world to mine on Australia s gold rich fields. The majority of were British but many others came from Germany, Italy, France, China and even America. This created a rich multicultural melting pot that would forever forge a highly diverse population. A repercussion of a sudden influx of multiculturalism was the targeting of a group of foreigners that attracted particular attention. These were the Chinese; as their numbers began ... • 3. An Occurrence At Owl Creek Bridge Literary Analysis Romanticized stories are those that show an idyllic yet unrealistic view of reality. It s the picturesque quality of romance that draws the reader in. One example of this is in An Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge by Ambrose Bierce. In An Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge, Bierce increases the impact of the story s ending by romantically depicting Farquhar s escape and following the romantic portrayal with a sudden snap back to reality. An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge follows a man named Peyton Farquhar before, during, and after his execution. The ending of the story is told to seem like Farquhar heroically escapes the execution and makes it back to his loving wife, however, in the last paragraph it is made clear that the romantically described escape was just what flashed before his eyes during his death. The romantic depiction of his imagined escape is what makes the ending so powerful. It brings the reader on a happy journey before harshly turning back to reality. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example of these powers is his newfound strength. He watched [his hands] with a new interest as first one and then the other pounced upon the noose at his neck. They tore it away and thrust it fiercely aside, its undulations resembling those of a water snake (2). He s able to easily tear away the noose from his neck while underwater, which normally would be an impossible feat. Along with exceptional strength, Farquhar also seems to gain immunity to death during his escape. When fired at after escaping the noose, some of [the bullets] touched him on the face and hands, then fell away, continuing their descent (2). Instead of killing him, bullets just fall away from him in a romantically ideal manner. Portraying Farquhar as having superhuman powers is one of many romantic characteristics of his ... So why do conspiracists still believe an alien crashed into Roswell? After a hot humid day in July 1947, severe and violent thunderstorms filled the night sky. Long time farmer, Mac Brazel was used to thunder, and storms out in the country. Although something about this night was different. He heard an extremely loud crash, though didn t think much of it. The next morning however, Brazel stumbled upon the debris of a strange object on his farm. Brazel brought some of the material to a nearby neighbor who urged him to report his find in hopes of getting a reward. Brazel informed the sheriff ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A nurse friend of Dennis confides in him that she was called by doctors to assist in an alien autopsy. Even though she is sworn to secrecy, she must confide in someone. She meets Dennis and draws him a sketch of what she observed during the alien autopsy . Strangely enough, she was transferred from the funeral home shortly after and never heard from again. The news of the crash soon starts to fade away, and within the end of the year disappears from the news altogether. Nearly 30 years later, in 1978, Stanton Friedman was prompted to revisit the crash. Stanton Friedman was an unemployed scientist, and a part time UFO lecturer. On February 12, 1978 Friedman interviewed a man over the phone who said he handled the wreckage of a crashed spaceship, but the man, Major Jesse Marcel, couldn t remember the month or even the year of the event. Marcel expressed that he believed the military had covered up the recovery of an alien spacecraft. Approximately one year later, William Moore, a colleague of Friedman, found newspaper clippings of the even that Marcel referred to. The research that Friedman and Moore uncovered has made the Roswell crash the most celebrated case in the literature of UFOs. In February of 1980, the National Inquirer ran the interview of Marcel and Friedman bringing in national and worldwide attention ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Comedy of Errors is one of Shakespeare s earliest and comedic creations, with inspiration drawn from the Roman comedy Menaechmi. The Royal Shakespeare Company was founded in 1961 with the goal to entertain and educate audiences on Shakespeare s works, by putting a modern twist on the performances. Their version of The Comedy of Errors, co produced with Told by an Idiot, manipulates the actor s movements, language and dramatic tension as well as the elements of theatre in order to convey the comedy and irony of the play to a young audience. The costumes lacked a time period, making them look very messy and mismatched, with people wearing leg warmers while others wore bright blue mesh singlets. This mishmash of clothes created a focus issue as the audience s concentration was turned towards the costumes rather than the acting and dialogue. It is clear that the creatives were trying to the engage the younger, upper primary audience with the crazy costumes, but they failed to do so and created confusion over their impact to the dramatic meaning. Director Paul Hunter used many of the stylistic elements often seen in Commedia Del Arte performances. Similar to commedia performance, The Comedy of Errors was designed to be a travelling show, going from school to school to share their creation and educate students. Due to this, the set had to be simple and transportable and Vale achieves this successfully by using a simple square stage but managing to maintain many levels with seats behind the raised stage. Other commedia elements, such as mask work, is also used in the production to some extent, with both Antipoli wearing glasses that act as masks. The play also uses the idea of Master and Servants, a noticeable feature of commedia performances. The creatives also used audience participation to tell the story, by spraying water on them, getting them to direct actors to hidden ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Arasato writes I am a farmer in the first person perspective; You should stop and listen, the aina is trying to speak. Reinforces that Arasato is explaining a situation to everyone about the lands of Hawaii. Arasato s purpose in I am a Farmer is to illustrate events that influenced Hawai i land. From ancient Hawaiian times, during the time the Ali i ruled, to modern day Hawaii, the land in which generations were promised, slowly disappeared as hungry real estate people bought it up. Infuriating, feeling betrayed, and being voided of their land brings darkness to the farmers and the reason why Arasato creates this poem to explain the history of farmers suffering. I agree with Arasato s claim that the farming land was wrongfully taken and deserves to be given back to those who rightfully own them because Hawaii is a place of fertility and where farmers thrive to grow food for its people. It s been a heritage for generations and if people take care of the land, the land will surely provide back. Therefore, the poem I am a Farmer explains the history of farming in Hawaii by relating to the past, explaining the challenges faced, and what the future of farming can be if the ... • 12. Essay on Faith in Fear and Trembling by Kierkegaard Kierkegaard believes that true faith can only be attained through a double movement of giving up rationality or logic, while at the same time believing one can understand logically. In Fear and Trembling Kierkegaard relates true faith to the Knight of infinite resignation and the Knight of faith; in this paper, I will examine this claim and show why Kierkegaard s analogy is an excellent metaphor for the double movement which is required in one s quest to attain faith and why. Kierkegaard s position on faith is represented with the Knight of infinite resignation and the Knight of faith. The Knight of faith is regarded as the one who believes in that which is absurd. So now, not only is Abraham faced with killing his own son, he is also supposed to still be considered in a religious context to be sacrificing his son. The Knight of infinite resignation sees this contradiction, this logical impossibility, and is aware of how this command defies rationality. This knight accepts that, in this life, his beloved son is going to die and that his hand will be the one to deliver this task. The main point Kierkegaard makes is when he goes on to say that to have faith, one must have experienced both of these stages. One must experience the stage of infinite resignation before being able to attain faith. Infinite resignation is the last stage before faith, so that anyone who has not made this movement does not have faith (Kierkegaard 75). Kierkegaard goes even further on to explain why, for only in infinite resignation does my eternal validity become transparent to me, and only then can there be talk of grasping existence on the strength of faith (75). Kierkegaard s position is made clear, only after one has had to make a decision from a place contradiction, can one truly have faith. Faith is not just blindly going along and believing against rationale just because that is what you have been raised or told to do. Both are important because it is responsible for gluconeogenesis and fructose metabolism. Gluconeogenesis is the metabolic pathway that results in the production of glucose from non carbohydrate carbon substrates or the opposite of Glycolysis (Figure 1). In simple terms, a mutation on Fructose 1, 6 biphosphate would both hinder the production of pyruvate and the production of glucose. The problem in this flawed model was that the electron, moving in a circular path, would be accelerating. Acceleration would create a change in magnetic field, which would in turn carry energy away from the nucleus. The electron would eventually slow and be captured by the nucleus. The Geschichte und Bibliographie der Anatomischen Abbildung continued to attract attention as Mortimer Frank revised and translated the catalogue in 1920 and in 1945 an expanded version was published which remains a useful resource of early anatomical illustration. The 1852 edition included 43 woodcuts and three chromolithographs to illustrate the entries which range from the earliest Arabic manuscript illuminations to anatomical atlases published in Choulant s time. Choulant understands the history of anatomic illustration to allow for an easy distinction between artistic and scientific anatomy. Artistic anatomy according to Choulant idealises anatomical beauty and overlooks particulars for the sake of perfection. Scientific anatomy and illustration has a didactic purpose, while artistic anatomy is not intended to instruct anyone with the exception of other artists. Without doubt, scientific anatomy must also generalise in order to teach anatomy, though it would be better at displaying the functions and relative positions of organs than artistic anatomy, where the primary concern lies in musculature. In circumstances; such as war, Keynesians economic policy provides a near perfect solution for boosting an economy. However, without a war to force an increase in demand, an increase in government spending would snowball into a business cycle of aggregate demand problems. Aggregate Demand is the total demand for goods and services within a market and consists of four main components; investment, consumption, government spending and net exports. These coincide directly with Keynesian s economic fiscal policy. For boosting aggregate demand is the primary focus and supposed key to Keynesians fiscal policy solution. Since aggregate demand coincides directly with Keynesian s economic policy, all of the policy s long term problems become aggregate demand problems. With Keynes policy s increase in government spending comes an initial boost in consumer spending which then boosts aggregate demand. Businesses increase supply and expand to meet this boosted demand. However once the fiscal stimulus package runs out, the once increased aggregate demand begins to decrease. The federal reserve begins to then print more money in order to compensate for the recently depleted fiscal package in order to maintain the aggregate demand levels. Additional printing of money lowers the value of the dollar thus causing inflation. As inflation rates rise in the economy consumers purchasing power decreases. With consumers purchasing power shrinking the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. Pros And Cons Of Bruichladdich Bruichladdich is no stranger to No Age Statement whisky. In fact over the past ten or twelve years they ve probably been one of the most visible proponents of the concept. I think this approach was first viewed by the distillery as a necessary maneuver in order to get whisky on the shelves throughout the first decade of production after their 2001 reopening. Considering how fundamentally opposed I am to the idea of opaque marketing with whisky, I imagine it s somewhat surprising (even to myself, if I m to be honest) how much I adore and support Bruichladdich. Let s face it...no other distillery has done as much to reinvigorate the whisky world over the last few years as Bruichladdich. They ve pushed hard for higher bottling strengths first 46% as a standard, and now 50%. They ve foregone artificial colouring. They ve made a mockery of the concept of chill filtration. Their employment of local labour is staggering, especially viewed in contrast to the two man crews running some of Diageo s multi million litre producers. Their innovative cask play, phenol manipulation (and exploitation!), terroir first approach, experiments with organic barley, unprecedented guerrilla marketing, over the top bottle designs and simply unparalleled passion are ... This malt supercedes 2011 s Laddie 10, the distillery s first proper 10 year old under the new regime. Unfortunately, if all the sources I ve culled are correct, Bruichladdich simply couldn t keep production at a level that would support an ongoing 10 year old at this time. That particular malt was met with such positive acclaim and widespread demand that the distillery finally had to step away from the idea of the Laddie 10 as their core expression and back up a few steps into the NAS territory again to give themselves some breathing room. The Laddie 10 is still available at the distillery, from what I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Beatles Thesis The Beatles Music has impacted human lives all throughout history, whether it has been a simple thing like someone playing their guitar in the streets or an overcrowded performance by an artist. The reason behind this is because music has been able to express emotions that many can t express into words and it has grown so much throughout the years that it has exponentially become a statement for those trying to impact others. A great example of a group, who was able to influence not only lives, but some say even generations, is The Beatles. Before learning about their fame and success it is important to understand where it all began and how it all unfolded for these four artists. According to author Womack Kenneth, who wrote The Beatles Encyclopedia: Everything Fab Four Ringo Starr was born on July 7 1940, on October 9 John Winston Lennon is born, June 8 1942 James Paul McCartney is born and lastly in February 25 1943 George Harrison is born and all four were born in Liverpool, England . Before becoming The Beatles they were once known as The Quarry Men (Womack). Their encounter occurred on the year 1957 McCarthy first met Lennon and decided to join the Quarry Men after performing at the Woolton Parish Church Garden Fête in Liverpool and a year after that Harrison joins the Quarry Men (Womack). Following their partnership that same year in June they record their first professional tape with songs such as That ll Be the Day and In Spite of All the Danger ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Common Toad Behavior Seismic events, if strong enough, are extremely random earthquakes felt in various parts of the Earth. As astronomer Seth Shostak once said, We still have no way to eliminate earthquakes, wildfires, hurricanes, floods or droughts (Seth Shostak). Humans cannot stop earthquakes but they can predict them using modern technology, geo mapping, and by studying behaviours in animals. In this article we examine how the Common toad (Bufo bufo) behaves before, during, and after an earthquake and how this can help humans in understanding the early signs of an earthquake. Before observing the Common toads behaviour, we must explain what goes on during an earthquake to fully understand the behavioural changes these toads undergo. Through common knowledge, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is why an internal process that may help toads predict earthquakes can be linked to their olfactory senses and their epidermis. Toads are amphibians making them sensitive to changes in water chemistry, since they breed and live a majority of their lives in damp habitats. Grant and colleagues further study the changes in water chemistry with respect to the effect on toads. When an earthquake occurs it releases positive hole charge carriers, and are equivalent to *O radicals. This makes them extremely reactive and highly oxidizing, letting them execute various reactions once they reach the surface. One of the reactions is oxidizing H2O (water) into H2O2 (hydrogen peroxide). The oxidization of H2O coupled with the fact that toads live mainly in damp areas gives sufficient evidence to the change in toad behaviour. Since H2O2 has active electrolytes and toad s skins are permeable to electrolytes, toads begin to perceive the feeling of H2O2 to the presence of an earthquake in the near future. So the smell of hydrogen peroxide and the feeling of skin being permeated is a cue for toads becoming aware of a future earthquake (Rachel A. Grant et al., ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
