The Impact Of Tax Structure Of The United Arab Emirates
Currently, the United Arab Emirates does not have a federal corporate income tax (CIT) regime;
however, most of the Emirates introduced income tax decrees in the late 1960s, and taxation is
therefore determined on an Emirate by Emirate basis.
Under the Emirate based tax decrees, CIT may be imposed on all companies (including branches and
permanent establishments [PEs]) at rates of up to 55%. However, in practice, CIT is currently only
enforced in respect of corporate entities engaged in the production of oil and gas or extraction of other
natural resources in the United Arab Emirates.
In addition, some of the Emirates have their own specific banking tax decrees, which impose CIT on
branches of foreign banks at the rate of 20%

It is generally the tenants obligation to pay the tax. In some cases, separate fees are payable by both
tenants and property owners. For example, in the Emirate of Dubai, the municipality tax on property is
currently imposed at 5% of the annual rental value for tenants or at 5% of the specified rental index
for property owners.
Further, a registration fee may also be levied on transfer of ownership of land or property. For
example, a land registration fee is levied in the Emirate of Dubai at a rate of 4% of the sale value of
the property.
There is a social security regime in the United Arab Emirates that applies to UAE and GCC national
employees only. In most of the Emirates, and for a UAE national employee, social security
contributions are calculated at a rate of 17.5% of the employee s gross remuneration as stated in the
employment contract. Out of the 17.5%, 5% is payable by the employee and the remaining 12.5% is
payable by the employer. Dubai s enormous oil revenues mean that the government has no need to
raise income through direct taxation. Accordingly, Dubai is a no tax emirate characterized by an
almost complete absence of taxation. There are no withholding or capital taxes. Speaking in
November 2005, the late Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, then Crown Prince of Dubai
and the Defense Minister of the United Arab Emirates sought to quash speculation regarding the

The Importance Of Foreign Policy In The Asia-Pacific
Australia s position in the Asia pacific remains strategically important to our domestic and
international interests. Therefore, it is vital to maintain stability in this region for Australia s economic
prosperity and continued preservation of Australia s values of cooperation and freedom in
international territories.
Summary
Foreign policymakers within Australia face the challenge of establishing policy that retains American
engagement with Australia (based on our historic alliances), while acknowledging Americas recent
shift toward domestic priorities. Foreign policy will need to promote ongoing security, political and
economic stability within the APR, continuing to acknowledge the global shift of international trade
toward Asia. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
125). President Xi s rise and uncanny resemblance to authoritarianism of the past, alongside Chinas
growing military and GDP is a concern for the region. Though sea lanes are becoming more crowded
and contested with the balance of economic weight shifting, it is not wise to presume that military
engagement is inevitable. Rather it is important to align Australias interest with long term regional
security goals and continued skepticism of Chinese movement south and their defencive/offensive
effort to retain and increase access to energy and other resources. Though it is assured by Chinese
Premier Li Keqiang that China will never seek dominance (Roggeveen 2017), Australia should
proceed with caution and firmness. Our alliance with the US historically has been to continue support
of their presence in the APR though an increase of this could prove damaging based on what Levy
describes as military escalation due to organisational structures and implementation (Levy 1986 pg.

administrations domestic prioritisation. The outlook over the next decade requires Australian foreign
policy makers to consider the further growth of our economic relationship with our Asian neighbours,
the continued advancement of China and India, as well as the United States resolve to remain

The Second Amendment
To begin with, the Fourth Amendment was constituted to protect the people from unreasonable
searches and seizures. However, there are times and cases in which an investigation is started and
evidence is collected illegally. There are doctrines such as The Exclusionary Rule and Fruit of the
Poisonous Tree in place to eliminate any evidence to be used in court if obtained illegally. This paper
will differentiate the two doctrines as well explain how and why the two could possibly be
incorporated in the case of Who did it. We will also look into the immunity that government officials
may have pertaining to civil liability and see if officers affiliated with the Who did It case are
protected from their actions. First off, The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the original evidenced collected. The fruit of the poisonous tree doctrine is the aftermath of not

cellphone being seized and search. The exclusionary rule would apply to this. However, if there are
messages that lead to a drug bust or trafficking then this would be the fruit of the illegally seized
cellphone. At the end of the day, all evidence would be inadmissible in court. In continuation, let us

William Ellis to the scene of the crime. In the initial search of the home, a fingerprint was discovered
beside the light switch by using amino acid, photographs and a portable argon laser. This later lead to
other facts that could answer a lot of questions. This could be looked at in different directions. Some
may say that yes, Mrs. Ellis did give consent when she called 911. On the other hand, it could also be
looked as if permission was only given to EMS to try helping Clyde Stevens. In addition to, let

G-protein-coupled receptors, also called GPCRs, form the...
G protein coupled receptors, also called GPCRs, form the largest receptor family among cell surface
proteins 1. This receptor family is large in size and very diverse, especially in mammalian genomes 2.
In simple terms, GPCRs are used for cellular communication 1. These receptors still need extensive
research since they are such a large, diverse group. More so, continued research can benefit humans
when it comes to pharmaceuticals. GPCRs are key when it comes to cells converting external signals
into the correct intracellular signals 1. There is more than 800 GPCRs within the human genome. They
are responsible for many of our everyday experiences. For example: some our senses (taste, vision,
and smell), fight or flight responses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pheromones are molecules released to convey social or sexual cues, done through individuals of the
same species 5. A hormone is a chemical carried via blood to another part of the body (not where it
was synthesized) where it can affect cellular activity 3. With a wide range of ligands that can be used
in the initial step we can see why so many things in our everyday experiences are controlled by
GPCRs. There are hundreds of different GPCRs that control a range of functions within the body. An
example of a GPCR is rhodopsin and protease activated receptors (PARs). Rhodopsin, a 7
transmembrane (7TM), activates the retinol molecule that is covalently linked in the TM cavity 1.
Rhodopsin does this by changing the configuration to activate the receptor; it changes from cis to trans
1. PAR is a family of 4 GPCRs that activate important signaling pathways 7. PARs activate signaling
pathways that deal with the following: survival, morphology, release of neurotransmitters, and activity
of ion channels 7. GPCRs are essential in numerous processes through the body (i.e. immunological
function and normal cell growth) 1. Therefore, pharmaceutical drugs are known to target these G
protein coupled receptors and this is expected to increase with our knowledge of GPCRs. Cimetidine
is one GPCR drug that blocks the action of Beta adrenergic receptors (βARs) and H2 histamine

Culture Is The Sum Total Of Ways Of Living Built Up By A...
What is culture? Culture has a very broad definition. But in terms of anthropology, culture is the sum
total of ways of living built up by a group of human beings and transmitted from one generation to
another (www.dictionary.com). Culture is learned, it is passed on from many generations. What is
gender? Gender is either the male or female division of a species, especially as differentiated by social
and cultural roles and behavior. However, gender plays a big role in culture all around the world. In
this analysis essay I will be analyzing how males and females are raised with differences in third
world countries compared to the western culture of the United States. What are the roles that males
and females have? In countries such as India, Pakistan, China, there is still a lot of controversy about
how a male and female should be treated. It has a lot to do with culture and tradition. Some of these
cultural traits have been passed down from generations and are still around which some people follow.
Some may consider it double standards and others may think that it is the norm. So how is gender
related to culture? In society it is expected that the women and men behave a certain way. The gender
disparities are shaped and formed by culture. It is better explained by Jyotirmaya Tripathy who wrote
the article How Gendered is Gendered Development? Culture, Masculinity, and Gender Differences ,
she explains that though there has been some modernity in third

Aerospace Engineering Research Papers
Ever since I was younger, I have always had an interest in the insides of pens and
I would take pens apart just to put them back together. When I recently found out that putting pens
back together was not the normal idea of fun for children, I realized that I am supposed to be an
engineer. In addition to this, I also have a love for math and science. The specific type of engineering
that I am currently interested in is aerospace engineering, which is because I have an interest in planes
and rockets, and because airports happen to be my favorite places.
Aerospace engineering has two different sections, or parts in which the two parts are aeronautical
engineering and astronautical engineering. The difference between the two is that aeronautical ...

The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner Essay
In Samuel Taylor Coleridge s poem The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, a wedding guest is cornered by
a sailor with a glittery eye and then proceeds to listen to the Mariner s story. In the story, the Mariner
is on a voyage and he make the rash decision to kill the albatross, which is a sign of luck. Initially the
act seemed to benefit the sailors. However, the weather change and the ship was sent into unstable
waters. During this time the sailors, except the Mariner, resorted to cannibalism and ended up dying.
The survivor encountered the supernatural world and spirit that helped him escape the jail he was
trapped in. When it was thought that death was the Mariner s only true escape, he happened upon a
coast where three men helped him to shore. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

poem, there is an apparition of a beautiful women who reflects the characteristics and desires of the

obsession to be reunited with her. As an example of his obsession, a caring and loving women tends to

reader is pulled through the winding and desperate journey of the Poet. Like the Mariner, the voyage

pushed into unforgiving waters, that plunge them closer to the supernatural world. As the Poet floats

his observation of the moon that gleamed through the darkness , he passively accepts the darkness.
But when heaven remained/ utterly black, the murky shades involved/ an image, silent, cold, and

Book Thief Summer Reading
The Book Thief Summer Reading Essay Over the summer of 2014 I read The Book Thief, a novel by
Markus Zusak. Prior to reading this book I honestly thought it was just going to be another
stereotypical WWII story that just revolves around a hidden Jew and the bland home life of a nervous
German family. I was proven wrong by the time I read the first chapter. The Book Thief turned out to
be so much more than I imagined it would be. The characters weren t the typical stock characters I had
predicted. They had their own personal struggles and lives outside of hiding a Jew. Everything in the
book had a story behind it, whether it be Max s accordion or how Liesel came to live with a new
family. There were almost no dull moments and I was able to ... Show more content on

From day one, Rudy was always determined to be Liesel s best friend. (Zusak 48) and that was how it
was with Georgie and I. Zusak says A snowball in the face is surely the perfect beginning to a lasting
friendship. (Zusak 48) My friendship with my neighbor also had a snowball to the face start. Shortly
after moving into his neighborhood, I was walking my dog Chloe but got distracted and dropped the
leash, and Chloe took off after a squirrel in Georgie s yard. I was too busy trying to chase her down to
watch where I was going and ended up running smack into Georgie who was getting the newspaper
from the end of his driveway. We began talking and everything went from there. Both boys also did
their share of eccentric acts, like Rudy s Jesse Owens incident where he covered himself in charcoal
and ran around the town s track, pretending to be the famous olympic sprinter, Jesse Owens. Coming
home one day and finding Georgie and my little sister dressed as wizards pushing each other up and
down the street in a wheelbarrow certainly competes with the peculiar acts of Rudy Steiner.

High School Government And Politics Class
I remember a mixture of enthusiasm and dread prior to a visit from a Pennsylvania state representative
to my high school government and politics class. We were discussing local educational funding and I
had many questions for him about the topic. But more than anything I did not want to embarrass
myself. I went to bed early the previous night, and before class I guzzled two cans of Monster energy
drink. There was a safety pin in my pocket just in case. The first few minutes of class I felt euphoric
and was enthralled with the discussion on the local political landscape. However, my energy quickly
began to drain. I tried to focus on my notes but after a half hour I was barely able to grip my pencil
and saw that much of what I had written was incoherent scribble. In desperation, I took the safety pin
out of my pocket and frantically began stabbing the palm of my hand. My efforts were for naught,
because at some point I completely fell asleep only to wake up five minutes before the lecture was
over. This was a common occurrence throughout my high school career but I was not correctly
diagnosed with narcolepsy until the spring of my senior year. As a result, much of my college
experience was spent adjusting to life with this diagnosis.
Under the care of Dr. Cantor at the Penn Sleep Center, I felt confident that I could finally be a normal
person. But I soon found that a medical diagnosis and treatment was not a literal cure all . Leaving the

Rome s Paramount Architectural Accomplishments Essay
Many of Rome s paramount architectural accomplishments can be found in, and around Italy. These
sites include the Pantheon, the Arch of Titus, the Mausoleum of Hadrian, the Roman Forum, and
Ancient Roman Aqueducts, along with the Colosseum. Many of these architectural feats have been
replicated throughout Roman territory. Their domain stretched all over Europe, Northern Africa, and
even into the Middle East. Today we are still able to enjoy much of Rome s artistry, which can be
linked to the how their engineers manufactured these monuments. Roman architects created
structurally sound buildings by making use of the vault, and the arch. These engineers also created
concrete, a binding agent holding the structures together. All of these forms were later replicated
throughout the empire (Lake Oswego School District, 2012:1). The remains of one such Roman
architectural achievement, was unearthed in Durrës, Albania in 1966 (Bowes and Mitchell, 2009:570;
Bowes et al., 2003:381; Ponce de Leon, 2013:3; UNESCO, 2004:34). The Roman amphitheater
happens to be the largest in the Balkans, and contains several frescos, which helped to track
Christianity as it spread throughout the region (Jacques, 1995:154; Ponce de Leon, 2013:3). Currently
this remarkable stadium is under consideration from UNESCO as a World Heritage site.

The Importance Of Choosing A Career
Choosing a career is an immense decision that not only impacts your life but also the lives of others.
When we consider job occupations, several things come promptly to mind. We think about job
description and duties, the training and education required, job outlook, and annual salaries. These are
just a few of the factors I considered when searching for a profession. Since I was a child, I always
knew that I wanted to be in the medical field. I wanted a profession in which I would be afforded the
opportunity to make a difference in someone else s life. So I started to examine my interests and skills,
how long I wanted to be in school, the type of salary I wanted to make and the potential for job growth
in the industry. After investigating potential careers, I figured out exactly what I wanted to be: a
Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. I chose a career in Diagnostic Medical Sonography because the job
outlook is bright, the pay is exceptional, I have most of the essential skills, and I can see myself
performing this job for years to come.
When it came to choosing a career, I wanted a profession where the pay is decent and there are
plentiful jobs in the workforce. Health careers are some of the fastest growing jobs in the U.S. and
Diagnostic Medical Sonography is no exception. Due to innovations in technology and the increased
dependence on diagnostic imaging for medical diagnosis, employment is projected to grow much
faster as more individuals are needed to fill

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Teleworking
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, teleworking opportunities, increased from 19% in 2003 to
24% in 2015 (Shin, 2017). For employees, the question becomes what are the advantages and
disadvantages of working remotely and how do they affect culture, and the successes for the
employee? While job satisfaction is the driving force for employee morale, teleworking still requires
performance and productivity to be successful.
In order to gain a competitive edge, the employee must understand the influences which have a direct
effect on their abilities to telework. These include autonomy, flexibility, minimal distractions, lack of
commute, and cost saving, allowing the employee to cover the distance by utilizing communication
(Schulte, 2015). With high speed internet communication available throughout the world, including
remote areas, it s easier for virtual face to face meetings to happen, eliminating the need for the
physical office meetings.
First, the autonomy advantage is for persons that are self motivated, which provides the freedom to
control the work environment while holding themselves accountable. However, for individuals that
need structure and direct guidance, teleworking may seem too broad for them to function
independently (Schulte, 2015). A good telecommuter has an insatiable appetite to compete while
achieving a high level with minimal supervision. They must be technologically savvy with above
average problem solving skills to achieve defined measurable

Christianity and Liberalism by Gresham Machen-Machen Essay
Biography of Gresham Machen

The core of Machen s argument was that liberalism is totally different from Christianity, for the
foundation is different. (PAGE 67)
Doctrine
The foundation of Christianity is doctrine. Machen described doctrine as the setting forth of the event
with the meaning of the event. (PAGE 25) Christianity is based on the truth of the Gospel of the life,
death, and resurrection of Christ as the only sacrifice for sin. On the other hand, liberalism does not
have doctrine and the foundation is on the individual experience and feelings. Liberalism is
independent from standard or historical foundation of Christianity. Thus, Christianity and liberalism
are totally different kinds of religions.
Machen stated that the New Testament books are regarded by all serious historians as genuine
products of the first Christian generation. (PAGE 18) The statement merely could be false without
Machen s willingness to terminate as un serious all historians who ignore the validity and authority of
the New Testament. The argument of the New Testament authenticity is still conflicted between in
liberalism and typical denominations. A weakness in Machen s argument on Doctrine was while
Machen indicates that the New testament could be understood through the perspective of the primitive
Jerusalem church (PAGE 22), no supportive agreement was found what the primitive church looked

Increase Of Regulation For Winter Road Maintenance
Increase in Regulation for Winter Road Maintenance Everyone has dealt with an experience where
they are driving down a cleaned road, and all of a sudden, they hit an ice patch. The winter road crews
have been over the roads, but nevertheless, the road is not safe. The lane will be clean. Then, a block
later, it will be covered in ice. In the city of Nampa, this situation tends to be encountered more than
necessary. When someone travels from Canyon County to Ada County, there is a clear distinction
between the levels of care. Roads in Boise are usually better taken care of compared to the morning
traffic in Nampa. The Treasure Valley needs to increase road maintenance in the winter creating more
mandates for care and researching for a better understanding and process for salting and clean up. For
Idaho, statistics show the negative repercussions and dangers of weather related accidents. One study

accident statistics (U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration). In the United
States yearly, about 22% of crashes and 16% of fatalities were based off weather related incidents
such as slick roads and bad conditions (U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway

represents the body s response to infection and involves systemic inflammatory and cellular events

Treatment of Sepsis
As stated in Rivers, Nguyed, Havstad, Ressler, Muzzin, Knolich et al. (2001):
Early hemodynamic assessment on the basis of physical findings, vital signs, central venous pressure,
and urinary output fails to detect persistent global tissue hypoxia. A more definitive resuscitation
strategy involves goal oriented manipulation of cardiac preload, afterload, and contractility to achieve
a balance between systemic oxygen delivery and oxygen demand. End points used to confirm the
achievement of such a balance (hereafter called resuscitation end points) include normalized values
for mixed venous oxygen saturation, arterial lactate concentration, base deficit, and pH. Mixed venous
oxygen saturation has been shown to be a surrogate for the cardiac index as a target for hemodynamic
therapy. In cases in which the insertion of a pulmonary artery catheter is impractical, venous oxygen
saturation can be measured in the central circulation (p. 1368).
The focus for the general care nurse outside of the ICU is to be able to recognize sepsis and to initiate
appropriate interventions in an appropriate amount of time. Nurses need to facilitate the transfer of the
patient to an ICU as urgently as possible. Once sepsis is suspected, it is important to closely monitor
patients for signs and symptoms of progression with increasing frequency of assessments. While

diagnosticians at a fictional hospital called Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in New Jersey. The
episode features House s attempts to diagnose a kindergarten teacher after she collapses in class.

Pressure to Succeed Mentality in American Sports Essay
The Pressure to Succeed The Issue Show me a good loser and I ll show you a loser, Vince Lombardi
once said. This saying could be the unsung anthem of American sports for children and teenagers.
Everyone loves to win. In sports there is always competition. Is there too much emphasis on the win
for kids and teens? This issue is important because it essentially develops the way children and
teenagers think and react; it will affect them later on in life. Too much emphasis on winning is a
problem because there is extensive pressure from parents and coaches, and the consequences can be
severe. Some people, such as Vince Lombardi, argue that the win is all there is. They say it motivates
them to do well and will help them reach their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Winning gives you an incomparable feeling of joy and accomplishment; it is one of the best feelings
in the world (Winning Isn t Everything, It s the Only Thing). Winning does build confidence
especially when that winning represents a true accomplishment; (i.e., I ve beaten a worthy opponent),
says David A. Feigley (The Role of Winning in Youth Sports).
Pressure from parents In the early years of a child s life, almost every child is associated with some
type of organized sport. The main reason that kids grow into teenagers that have difficulty accepting
defeat begins at home. Parents are constantly pressuring their kids to do better, leading them to believe
that whatever they do will not suffice. Sports writer Wesley Remmer tells us in his article, Mickey
Mantle confessed on the Dick Cavett Show that he wet the bed up to the age of 16, stemming from the
pressure he felt from his father to become an élite player. Those close to Mantle suggested his father s
overbearing personality led to emotional problems and alcoholism later in Mantle s life. All most little
kids want to do is play a simple game, but five minutes into the game there is often a parent already
coming to the official screaming about whether the six year old was really struck out or not. There is a

Political Ideologies
Introduction
Ideology defined by Heywood would be: A set of more or less coherent ideas that provide bases for
organized political actions. Its central features are an account of existing power relationships, a model
of a desired future, and an outline of how political change can and should be brought about. (2007: 68)
This essays main focus will be discussing the main ideologies and focuses of the two leading political
parties of South Africa. The African National Congress or ANC and the Democratic Alliance also
known as DA. An important insight into both their ideology will be gained by analysing how both
parties political powers are reflected in the economic sector and society and to which extend their

Ensuring that every citizen has access to an affordable education system; to water and food and a safe
place to sleep. But because this system is still very new, and with limited amounts of money available
the development takes its time. So in summery a welfare state is a concept of government in which the
state plays a key role in the protection and promotion of the economic and social well being of its
citizens. It is based on the principles of equality of opportunity, equitable distribution of wealth, and
public responsibility for those unable to avail themselves of the minimal provisions for a good life. (4)
As we can see this explanation of a welfare state again reflects many of the ANCs key values and
mission statements.
Other Ideologies such as socialism also implementing their ideas into the current ANC principles and
the way the ANC interacts with the community. Ideas such as uniting people together through the
ANC Youth League, Sport Clubs, Holiday camps and many other community building elements.
Further on fraternity and social quality (as discussed above) feed into socialism and what comes with
it.
Another (from my point of view) big part in our current government system plays communism. Where
the large orientation seems to come from a mix of ideologies of orthodox Marxism infused with
Leninism. Which should not be mistaken for the old USSR government system, which was ruled by a
single dictator Joseph Stalin (1878 1953). In

Essay On Air Defense Artillery
Air defense artillery (ADA) units date back to the dawn of this country s history when the colonists
erected fortifications and emplaced artillery pieces to defend against attack from the sea. Little did
they know, this new innovative way of combat would evolve and change the front lines forever.
Through World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam, air defense artillery units served as an
indispensable part of the armed forces of the United States. It gave the Army a tactical advantage and
allowed ground troops to move more efficiently, by protecting them from above. The Air Defense
Artillery branch of the US Army specializes in anti aircraft weapons. In the Army, these groups are
composed of many air defense systems such as the Patriot Missile System, Terminal High Altitude
Area Defense (THAAD), and the Avenger Air Defense system.
Since 9/11, the 4th Battalion, 5th Air Defense Artillery, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas, has

Film Analysis Of Mr Burns
Mr. Burns, a Post Electric Play addresses the importance of storytelling and common memory as
unifying tools. From fireside tales to grand operas, stories symbolize the preservation and progression
of society. Sharing a cultural history establishes bonds that, in a post apocalyptic situation, could be
the difference between life and death. In translating the narrative of this production into a film, it is
imperative to retain these major themes. Manipulating mise en scene through setting, lighting, and
costuming can effectively direct the audience s attention in such a way as to communicate the
consolidating impact of entertainment in society. The first aspect of setting to be considered is the
choice between making use of existing locales as opposed to constructing settings of one s one,
digitally or manually. In Act I, the setting is predominantly tame and subdued. As the play progresses,
however, the sets become exponentially more complicated. Thus, the exposition of the film adaptation
should be set in an existing forest, particularly one that is expansive and contains towering trees. A
location such as this, alongside the proper manipulation of other variables, would portray the
emptiness of the world after experiencing a rapid decrease in population density. Additionally, the
towering trees and the frightened, lonely actors beneath would communicate the threat of nature
asserting its dominance over humankind. As the film changes settings, they should becoming
progressively more elaborate and manufactured in appearance. The stage on which the second act
takes place should be filmed in some sort of urban wasteland, such as a desolate parking lot or an
empty business office. The found nature of the location solidifies the main characters as a variety of
scavengers, and enables the inclusion of low level engineering employed in the play. The props in use
should appear as though they were reclaimed from the wreckage, and be slightly exaggerated in color.
Lastly, the final act should take place on a stage that is larger than life alongside fantastical
contraptions and outrageous colors. This cements not just the ability of the survivors to continue
surviving, but also reveals sophistication and the

Millerite Movement in the Second Great Awakening of...
The Millerite Movement happened in the context of this nation s Second Great Awakening: a religious
revival that carried the country into reform movements. The Second Great Awakening had its start in
Connecticut in the 1790s and grew to its height in the 1830s to 1840s.[1] During this time in the
United States history, churches experienced a more complete freedom from governmental control
which opened the doors of opportunity to a great spiritual awakening in the American people.[2] This
awakening focused on areas of both religious and social issues of that era which were important to the
religious movements and the nation as a whole. The Second Great Awakening was driven by these
issues which included an increase in the evils ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Millerite Movement is best known for its prediction of Christ s coming to be 1843 and later
revised to October 22, 1844. The very core of this movement was the anticipation for the soon coming
of Christ. They were not the only group to look forward to this event but it became of paramount
interest to the Millerites, as they had a set date for Christ s second return.[8] As the Second Great
Awakening grew more mindful of Christ s second coming, so did the Millerite Movement. The story
of William Miller is one which climaxes in his desire to share about Christ s immediate return and the
Great Disappointment. The result is the Adventist church we have today. The Seventh day Adventist
Church today still reflects the roots it had in the Second Great Awakening. The founding principles
that the Millerites discovered as they broke away from the mainstream Christianity of their time, are
still a part of what we believe today. The Adventist faith holds that anyone who comes to Christ is a
new creation and can find salvation.[9] There is no predestination and once saved does not assure that
we are always saved. But no matter what, anyone can come to God for His gift of salvation.[10] Just
like the second coming of Christ was an important part of the Second Great Awakening and a key
foundation of the Millerite Movement, Adventists have in their name the hope of His

release bottled up emotions like saying they were afraid or cold (Chang, 2013). After they expressed
their emotions, they laughed for two to three minutes. It was seen that after this experiment, the
experimental group had lowered their levels of cortisol, the stress hormone, while the control group s
cortisol levels had stayed the same. (Chang, 2013). This is wonderful because according to the Mayo

Williamson is an example of genus deliberativum. Deliberative genre is used in forum or speech to
persuade the audience to do something or believe in something in future. Williamson s speech is a
typical deliberative genre. He makes the speech on a public forum to persuade voters to agree the
marriage bill amendment, and his telos is to take advantage of this to persuade more people support
his policy. The content is an uncertain decision about future. He provides several reasons to support
his idea so his activity is basically exhortation and persuasion. 2. The telos in Williamson is the
advantages that he gets more voters supporting his policy after his speech. The telos in SAIH is about
the honorable. SAIH clip is a genus demonstrativum. It makes a sarcastic retort to reflect the present
situation that some western people who called themselves volunteer are not really helping Africa.

for music and sometime the Oklahoma City Zoo s animal cameras where the teachers teach about the

technology is used everywhere and it is better to learn early on in life.
Next, the facility has immense safety precautions including locked doors, security cameras, good

precaution is providing a security camera in every room that includes a built in microphone.Between
this and the student to teacher ratio the children are watched continually. The teacher to student ratio is

Rothko was well accepted in the New York art community, but experienced limited success during this
time. Needing to add to his income he took a position at the Center Academy instructing sculpture and
painting and maintained this position from 1929 to 1952. As Rothko advanced in his painting style he
began to metamorphose from using imagery and symbolism to using colour fields. Typically his
paintings feature large rectangular expanses of colour arranged parallel to each other, usually in a
vertical arrangement. The edges of these shapes are softly uneven, giving them a hazy, pulsating
quality, and they seem to gently hover or float over the canvas. The paintings are often very large and
the effect they produce is generally one of calmness and contemplation, but in spite of their tranquility,
they cost Rothko enormous emotional effort: I m not an abstract artist...I m not interested in the
relationship of colour or form or anything else. I m interested only in expressing basic human

confronted with my pictures show that I can communicate these basic human emotions...The people
who weep before my pictures are having the same religious experience as I had when I painted them (

The Rights Of Gays And The Homosexual Agenda
In March of 2009, at the Hotel Triangle in Kampala, Uganda, Scott Lively, an American attorney and
activist and the president of Abiding Truth Ministries, a conservative Christian organization, delivered
a speech that was to have a drastic effect on the human rights of gays and lesbians in Uganda. The
speech, given at an anti gay conference titled Exposing the Truth behind Homosexuality and the
Homosexual Agenda , linked homosexuality with child molestation and the destruction of African
families and laid the foundation for what was to become a virulently homophobic movement in
Uganda. This religious crusade against the rights of gays and lesbians culminated in an oppressive
law, passed in 2014 and recently struck down on a technicality by a Ugandan court that, in its original
form, made homosexual acts punishable by death. This paper examines the roots and language of the
law and the connection between its passage and American evangelical efforts in Uganda, as well as the
distorting influence of Scott Lively and a lawsuit brought against him for human rights violations.
Lively is an attorney, activist, and candidate for the 2014 Massachusetts governorship, as well as a
published author (most notably of The Pink Swastika, a thoroughly discredited history that argues that
homosexuality was the root cause of the Holocaust). He is the pastor and president of Abiding Truth

The Army Of The United States
The movement from a drafted to an all volunteer force has proven to provide the Army of the United
States with some of its most impressive Soldiers. Whether Soldiers desire to join the military for the
pay, job security or answering the call to serve their country, these desires have become increasingly
obsolete in today s Army because of budget cuts. The Army will begin to lose quality Soldiers due to
continued pay cuts to military pay, basic allowance for housing and changes to retirement plans. On
March 2014, presented to Congress was a 495.6 billion dollar budget for the Department of Defense
(DOD). This newly presented budget is a 400 million dollar cut from the previous fiscal year (FY)
(October 1, 2014). This budget will create a smaller; yet, agile force that can still rapidly support the
United States of America at any time. The budget will stand for continued advancements in protection
and applied research to help ensure future competitive advantages for the United States of America.
With that said, where would the 400 million dollar DOD budget cuts be made? According to the
United States Department of Defense Budget Request of Fiscal Year 2015 (DOD BR15) (2014), in
order to continue to build a readily available force to support the country s needs, budget cuts are
needed and will be made at the expense of the Soldiers. Military Soldiers and families are set to suffer
additional pay decreases due to the ongoing budget cuts from Capital Hill. First

Background
There were more than 1,000,000 total hip and knee replacements in the United States in 2010.1
Prosthetic joint infections (PJIs) are a rare complication of joint replacements, estimated to be less
than 2% of cases, but result in significant morbidity and increased healthcare costs.2 Frequently, PJI
requires removal of the prosthesis and a prolonged course of IV antibiotics. It has been estimated that
the cost of one PJI is approximately $100,000 after a hip arthroplasty and $60,000 after a knee
arthroplasty.2 Perioperative prophylactic antibiotics for total joint replacements have been proven to
reduce rates of surgical site infections.2 3 It is recommended that prophylactic antibiotics are
administered within one hour prior to surgical incision and are discontinued within 24 hours following
the end of surgery.4 First generation cephalosporins, such as cefazolin, are the agents most commonly
utilized for antimicrobial prophylaxis in joint replacement procedures.2,5 Vancomycin may be used in
addition to a first generation cephalosporin in institutions considered to have a high rate of methicillin
resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) surgical site infections. 2 If there is local data to suggest
gram negative pathogens as a cause of PJI then it is recommended to consider the addition

Essay about The Theme of Coming of Age in Literature
The Theme of Coming of Age in Literature
There comes a time is each person s life when they reach the point where they are no longer children,
but adults. The transition from a child into a young adult is often referred to as the coming of age, or
growing up. The time when this transition occurs is different in everyone, since everyone is an
individual and no two people are alike. Certain children reach this stage through a tragic, painful event
which affects them to such extent that they are completely changed. Other children reach this time by
simply growing older and having a better understanding of the world around them. The coming of age
really is indefinite and cannot be marked in general overview. This stage in
life ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition to the different ways that culture celebrates the coming of age it is also one of the worlds
most popular and beloved themes in literature.
The Circus is a touching story about a man s kindness and how the realization of this played an
important part of his son s coming age. In Dan Clark s The
Circus , it is obvious how this young man realizes what being kind really means. Clark states that We
didn t go to the Circus that night but we didn t go without. (1995, pg. 4) quote demonstrates that the
young man realizes that it is more important to be generous than it was to go to the circus. This was
the first step of this young man s transition into the adult life. More often than not, the plot, characters,
theme and conflicts in literature deal with the theme coming of age, are very realistic.
Yet another story is Gary Paulsen s Hatchet which is a story about one boy who must survive in the
wilderness, with only a hatchet as a weapon. This is a story of courage about how one child was
forced to transform into an adult in order to endure the circumstances surrounding him. Brian Robeson
was stranded on an island, after his plane crashed down while traveling to see his father. He had no
food, now way of communication and only a small hatchet to save his life. Through terrifying events,
Hatchet is the story of one man s struggle to survive. It is obvious how Brian Robeson was forced to

  • 2. The Impact Of Tax Structure Of The United Arab Emirates Currently, the United Arab Emirates does not have a federal corporate income tax (CIT) regime; however, most of the Emirates introduced income tax decrees in the late 1960s, and taxation is therefore determined on an Emirate by Emirate basis. Under the Emirate based tax decrees, CIT may be imposed on all companies (including branches and permanent establishments [PEs]) at rates of up to 55%. However, in practice, CIT is currently only enforced in respect of corporate entities engaged in the production of oil and gas or extraction of other natural resources in the United Arab Emirates. In addition, some of the Emirates have their own specific banking tax decrees, which impose CIT on branches of foreign banks at the rate of 20% After the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is generally the tenants obligation to pay the tax. In some cases, separate fees are payable by both tenants and property owners. For example, in the Emirate of Dubai, the municipality tax on property is currently imposed at 5% of the annual rental value for tenants or at 5% of the specified rental index for property owners. Further, a registration fee may also be levied on transfer of ownership of land or property. For example, a land registration fee is levied in the Emirate of Dubai at a rate of 4% of the sale value of the property. There is a social security regime in the United Arab Emirates that applies to UAE and GCC national employees only. In most of the Emirates, and for a UAE national employee, social security contributions are calculated at a rate of 17.5% of the employee s gross remuneration as stated in the employment contract. Out of the 17.5%, 5% is payable by the employee and the remaining 12.5% is payable by the employer. Dubai s enormous oil revenues mean that the government has no need to raise income through direct taxation. Accordingly, Dubai is a no tax emirate characterized by an almost complete absence of taxation. There are no withholding or capital taxes. Speaking in November 2005, the late Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, then Crown Prince of Dubai and the Defense Minister of the United Arab Emirates sought to quash speculation regarding the possible introduction ... • 4. The Importance Of Foreign Policy In The Asia-Pacific Australia s position in the Asia pacific remains strategically important to our domestic and international interests. Therefore, it is vital to maintain stability in this region for Australia s economic prosperity and continued preservation of Australia s values of cooperation and freedom in international territories. Summary Foreign policymakers within Australia face the challenge of establishing policy that retains American engagement with Australia (based on our historic alliances), while acknowledging Americas recent shift toward domestic priorities. Foreign policy will need to promote ongoing security, political and economic stability within the APR, continuing to acknowledge the global shift of international trade toward Asia. ... Though sea lanes are becoming more crowded and contested with the balance of economic weight shifting, it is not wise to presume that military engagement is inevitable. Rather it is important to align Australias interest with long term regional security goals and continued skepticism of Chinese movement south and their defencive/offensive effort to retain and increase access to energy and other resources. Though it is assured by Chinese Premier Li Keqiang that China will never seek dominance (Roggeveen 2017), Australia should proceed with caution and firmness. Our alliance with the US historically has been to continue support of their presence in the APR though an increase of this could prove damaging based on what Levy describes as military escalation due to organisational structures and implementation (Levy 1986 pg. 193). Consideration is also needed in regard to America s foreign policy outlook and the Trump administrations domestic prioritisation. The outlook over the next decade requires Australian foreign policy makers to consider the further growth of our economic relationship with our Asian neighbours, the continued advancement of China and India, as well as the United States resolve to remain ... However, there are times and cases in which an investigation is started and evidence is collected illegally. There are doctrines such as The Exclusionary Rule and Fruit of the Poisonous Tree in place to eliminate any evidence to be used in court if obtained illegally. This paper will differentiate the two doctrines as well explain how and why the two could possibly be incorporated in the case of Who did it. We will also look into the immunity that government officials may have pertaining to civil liability and see if officers affiliated with the Who did It case are protected from their actions. The fruit of the poisonous tree doctrine is the aftermath of not catching the mistake of the investigating officers. To better understand the two, an example would be a cellphone being seized and search. The exclusionary rule would apply to this. However, if there are messages that lead to a drug bust or trafficking then this would be the fruit of the illegally seized cellphone. At the end of the day, all evidence would be inadmissible in court. In continuation, let us take look at would either the exclusionary rule or the fruit of the poisonous tree doctrine apply to the Who did it case. There was vital evidence discovered in the search of Mrs. Ellis s home that pointed William Ellis to the scene of the crime. In the initial search of the home, a fingerprint was discovered beside the light switch by using amino acid, photographs and a portable argon laser. This later lead to other facts that could answer a lot of questions. This could be looked at in different directions. Some may say that yes, Mrs. Ellis did give consent when she called 911. • 6. G-protein-coupled receptors, also called GPCRs, form the... G protein coupled receptors, also called GPCRs, form the largest receptor family among cell surface proteins 1. This receptor family is large in size and very diverse, especially in mammalian genomes 2. In simple terms, GPCRs are used for cellular communication 1. These receptors still need extensive research since they are such a large, diverse group. More so, continued research can benefit humans when it comes to pharmaceuticals. GPCRs are key when it comes to cells converting external signals into the correct intracellular signals 1. There is more than 800 GPCRs within the human genome. They are responsible for many of our everyday experiences. For example: some our senses (taste, vision, and smell), fight or flight responses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pheromones are molecules released to convey social or sexual cues, done through individuals of the same species 5. A hormone is a chemical carried via blood to another part of the body (not where it was synthesized) where it can affect cellular activity 3. With a wide range of ligands that can be used in the initial step we can see why so many things in our everyday experiences are controlled by GPCRs. There are hundreds of different GPCRs that control a range of functions within the body. An example of a GPCR is rhodopsin and protease activated receptors (PARs). Rhodopsin, a 7 transmembrane (7TM), activates the retinol molecule that is covalently linked in the TM cavity 1. Rhodopsin does this by changing the configuration to activate the receptor; it changes from cis to trans 1. PAR is a family of 4 GPCRs that activate important signaling pathways 7. PARs activate signaling pathways that deal with the following: survival, morphology, release of neurotransmitters, and activity of ion channels 7. GPCRs are essential in numerous processes through the body (i.e. immunological function and normal cell growth) 1. But in terms of anthropology, culture is the sum total of ways of living built up by a group of human beings and transmitted from one generation to another (www.dictionary.com). Culture is learned, it is passed on from many generations. What is gender? Gender is either the male or female division of a species, especially as differentiated by social and cultural roles and behavior. However, gender plays a big role in culture all around the world. In this analysis essay I will be analyzing how males and females are raised with differences in third world countries compared to the western culture of the United States. What are the roles that males and females have? In countries such as India, Pakistan, China, there is still a lot of controversy about how a male and female should be treated. It has a lot to do with culture and tradition. Some of these cultural traits have been passed down from generations and are still around which some people follow. Some may consider it double standards and others may think that it is the norm. So how is gender related to culture? In society it is expected that the women and men behave a certain way. We were discussing local educational funding and I had many questions for him about the topic. But more than anything I did not want to embarrass myself. I went to bed early the previous night, and before class I guzzled two cans of Monster energy drink. There was a safety pin in my pocket just in case. The first few minutes of class I felt euphoric and was enthralled with the discussion on the local political landscape. However, my energy quickly began to drain. These sites include the Pantheon, the Arch of Titus, the Mausoleum of Hadrian, the Roman Forum, and Ancient Roman Aqueducts, along with the Colosseum. Many of these architectural feats have been replicated throughout Roman territory. Their domain stretched all over Europe, Northern Africa, and even into the Middle East. Today we are still able to enjoy much of Rome s artistry, which can be linked to the how their engineers manufactured these monuments. Roman architects created structurally sound buildings by making use of the vault, and the arch. These engineers also created concrete, a binding agent holding the structures together. All of these forms were later replicated throughout the empire (Lake Oswego School District, 2012:1). The remains of one such Roman architectural achievement, was unearthed in Durrës, Albania in 1966 (Bowes and Mitchell, 2009:570; Bowes et al., 2003:381; Ponce de Leon, 2013:3; UNESCO, 2004:34). While job satisfaction is the driving force for employee morale, teleworking still requires performance and productivity to be successful. (2001): Early hemodynamic assessment on the basis of physical findings, vital signs, central venous pressure, and urinary output fails to detect persistent global tissue hypoxia. A more definitive resuscitation strategy involves goal oriented manipulation of cardiac preload, afterload, and contractility to achieve a balance between systemic oxygen delivery and oxygen demand. End points used to confirm the achievement of such a balance (hereafter called resuscitation end points) include normalized values for mixed venous oxygen saturation, arterial lactate concentration, base deficit, and pH. Mixed venous oxygen saturation has been shown to be a surrogate for the cardiac index as a target for hemodynamic therapy. In cases in which the insertion of a pulmonary artery catheter is impractical, venous oxygen saturation can be measured in the central circulation (p. 1368). • 25. Film Analysis Of Mr Burns Mr. Burns, a Post Electric Play addresses the importance of storytelling and common memory as unifying tools. From fireside tales to grand operas, stories symbolize the preservation and progression of society. Sharing a cultural history establishes bonds that, in a post apocalyptic situation, could be the difference between life and death. In translating the narrative of this production into a film, it is imperative to retain these major themes. Manipulating mise en scene through setting, lighting, and costuming can effectively direct the audience s attention in such a way as to communicate the consolidating impact of entertainment in society. The first aspect of setting to be considered is the choice between making use of existing locales as opposed to constructing settings of one s one, digitally or manually. In Act I, the setting is predominantly tame and subdued. As the play progresses, however, the sets become exponentially more complicated. Thus, the exposition of the film adaptation should be set in an existing forest, particularly one that is expansive and contains towering trees. A location such as this, alongside the proper manipulation of other variables, would portray the emptiness of the world after experiencing a rapid decrease in population density. Additionally, the towering trees and the frightened, lonely actors beneath would communicate the threat of nature asserting its dominance over humankind. As the film changes settings, they should becoming progressively more elaborate and manufactured in appearance. The stage on which the second act takes place should be filmed in some sort of urban wasteland, such as a desolate parking lot or an empty business office. The found nature of the location solidifies the main characters as a variety of scavengers, and enables the inclusion of low level engineering employed in the play. The props in use should appear as though they were reclaimed from the wreckage, and be slightly exaggerated in color. Lastly, the final act should take place on a stage that is larger than life alongside fantastical contraptions and outrageous colors. He used his own regimen of swimming to help regain strength in his arms following the accident. Doctors wanted to amputate his arm, however Cousteau unwaveringly refused. Jacques Cousteau later went on to describe his experience in his book, The Silent World: One Sunday morning...I waded into the Mediterranean and looked into it through Fernez goggles...I was astonished by what I saw in the shallow shingle at Le Mourillon, rocks covered with green, brown and silver forests of algae and fishes unknown to me, swimming in crystalline water...Sometimes we are lucky enough to know that our lives have been changed, to discard the old, embrace the new, and run headlong down an immutable course. But some parents have regards with SMART boards being used in their child s room. For example, in the one year old rooms parents sometimes do not want their children being introduced to technology at that early of an age. Which is not a good idea at this time, technology is used everywhere and it is better to learn early on in life. Next, the facility has immense safety precautions including locked doors, security cameras, good teacher to student ratio, sign in and sign out sheets, and accident forms. In the Center every door must be locked at all times. This prevents strangers from walking into the building and taking a child, as well as allowing the teachers inside to see the person before they come into the room. Another safety precaution is providing a security camera in every room that includes a built in microphone.Between this and the student to teacher ratio the children are watched continually. Needing to add to his income he took a position at the Center Academy instructing sculpture and painting and maintained this position from 1929 to 1952. As Rothko advanced in his painting style he began to metamorphose from using imagery and symbolism to using colour fields. Typically his paintings feature large rectangular expanses of colour arranged parallel to each other, usually in a vertical arrangement. The edges of these shapes are softly uneven, giving them a hazy, pulsating quality, and they seem to gently hover or float over the canvas. The paintings are often very large and the effect they produce is generally one of calmness and contemplation, but in spite of their tranquility, they cost Rothko enormous emotional effort: I m not an abstract artist...I m not interested in the relationship of colour or form or anything else. • 32. The Rights Of Gays And The Homosexual Agenda In March of 2009, at the Hotel Triangle in Kampala, Uganda, Scott Lively, an American attorney and activist and the president of Abiding Truth Ministries, a conservative Christian organization, delivered a speech that was to have a drastic effect on the human rights of gays and lesbians in Uganda. The speech, given at an anti gay conference titled Exposing the Truth behind Homosexuality and the Homosexual Agenda , linked homosexuality with child molestation and the destruction of African families and laid the foundation for what was to become a virulently homophobic movement in Uganda. This religious crusade against the rights of gays and lesbians culminated in an oppressive law, passed in 2014 and recently struck down on a technicality by a Ugandan court that, in its original form, made homosexual acts punishable by death. This paper examines the roots and language of the law and the connection between its passage and American evangelical efforts in Uganda, as well as the distorting influence of Scott Lively and a lawsuit brought against him for human rights violations. Lively is an attorney, activist, and candidate for the 2014 Massachusetts governorship, as well as a published author (most notably of The Pink Swastika, a thoroughly discredited history that argues that homosexuality was the root cause of the Holocaust). He is the pastor and president of Abiding Truth Ministries, a church based in Springfield, Massachusetts, and a former director of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There was no significant difference in rates of PJI, CDAD, length of stay, need for acute hemodialysis, or readmission related to AKI. Background There were more than 1,000,000 total hip and knee replacements in the United States in 2010.1 Prosthetic joint infections (PJIs) are a rare complication of joint replacements, estimated to be less than 2% of cases, but result in significant morbidity and increased healthcare costs.2 Frequently, PJI requires removal of the prosthesis and a prolonged course of IV antibiotics. It has been estimated that the cost of one PJI is approximately $100,000 after a hip arthroplasty and $60,000 after a knee arthroplasty.2 Perioperative prophylactic antibiotics for total joint replacements have been proven to reduce rates of surgical site infections.2 3 It is recommended that prophylactic antibiotics are administered within one hour prior to surgical incision and are discontinued within 24 hours following the end of surgery.4 First generation cephalosporins, such as cefazolin, are the agents most commonly utilized for antimicrobial prophylaxis in joint replacement procedures.2,5 Vancomycin may be used in addition to a first generation cephalosporin in institutions considered to have a high rate of methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) surgical site infections. 2 If there is local data to suggest gram negative pathogens as a cause of PJI then it is recommended to consider the addition ... • 35. Essay about The Theme of Coming of Age in Literature The Theme of Coming of Age in Literature There comes a time is each person s life when they reach the point where they are no longer children, but adults. The transition from a child into a young adult is often referred to as the coming of age, or growing up. The time when this transition occurs is different in everyone, since everyone is an individual and no two people are alike. Certain children reach this stage through a tragic, painful event which affects them to such extent that they are completely changed. Other children reach this time by simply growing older and having a better understanding of the world around them. The coming of age really is indefinite and cannot be marked in general overview. This stage in life ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition to the different ways that culture celebrates the coming of age it is also one of the worlds most popular and beloved themes in literature. The Circus is a touching story about a man s kindness and how the realization of this played an important part of his son s coming age. In Dan Clark s The Circus , it is obvious how this young man realizes what being kind really means. Clark states that We didn t go to the Circus that night but we didn t go without. (1995, pg. 4) quote demonstrates that the young man realizes that it is more important to be generous than it was to go to the circus. This was the first step of this young man s transition into the adult life. More often than not, the plot, characters, theme and conflicts in literature deal with the theme coming of age, are very realistic. Yet another story is Gary Paulsen s Hatchet which is a story about one boy who must survive in the wilderness, with only a hatchet as a weapon. This is a story of courage about how one child was forced to transform into an adult in order to endure the circumstances surrounding him. Brian Robeson was stranded on an island, after his plane crashed down while traveling to see his father. He had no food, now way of communication and only a small hatchet to save his life. Through terrifying events, Hatchet is the story of one man s struggle to survive. It is obvious how Brian Robeson was forced to come of age or grow ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
