idolization has become a tradition handed down from one family member to the next. It is because
of this very reason the client has become a walking breathing stereotype. Client has became a

Currently Mr. L is enslaved by his rigged worldview and of the image he has of himself within

Economics of Information
Introduction
There have been discussions among scholars in developed countries regarding economics of
information. Developed countries includes Australia, New Zealand, United States, Ireland,
Germany, Japan, Canada and many more are countries that have a high level of development
according to some criteria. The criterion is income per capita; countries with high gross domestic
product (GDP) per capita would thus be described as developed countries. Another economic
criterion is industrialization; countries in which the tertiary and quaternary sectors of industry
dominate would thus be described as developed. More recently another measure, the Human
Development Index (HDI), which combines an economic measure, national income, with other ...

Information goods and services can be shared and consumed with other consumers at the same time,
cannot be easily returned, perhaps these properties make information economics different from
other forms of economics. For instance more than one person can enjoy a movie in a theatre
simultaneously, more than one person can read the same book, view the same television program,
and use the same web site. This property of information makes it a public or shared good. Usually
it will involve high fixed costs of production but the cost of reproduction is just at lower marginal.
As we know, information managers make economic decision every day for their organization
management. Each decision is a choice among competing alternatives, for example, a good
manager must be good at choosing how to allocate and make use a fixed budget among
employees, suppliers, computers, and many more expenditures. If a manager spends more money
in one expense category, it will result in less to spend in another for instance, a public library
director must choose whether to buy a new computer or a new photocopier. Besides, he or she
may decide to open the library on Sundays or the extra money spent on staff and utilities to keep
the library open could have been spent purchasing more books to support the library collections and
holdings.
Information has played an increasingly more important role in several economies, particularly in

Greed In The Fisherman And His Wife By The Grimm Brothers
Flaws such as greed become a sin when it starts to have an impact on others. Greed, rage, lust,
anger, sloth, pride, envy and gluttony are the 7 deadly sins and when taken to extremes, will
affect others making them a sin. Ever wonder when flaws such as greed become a sin? Greed can
be related to stealing, however these flaws are known as deadly sins when they start to affect
others. The Fairytale, The Fisherman and His Wife, by The Grimm Brothers that includes the
deadly sin, greed. The authors warn us that those who are greedy will never be satisfied. Seven
bloodied hopes meaning someone is always hoping for more and more, similarly to the
fisherman s wife, who always wanted a new house. The fisherman went finishing one day and
caught a magic fish who was once a prince. He could grant wishes if he was thrown back into the
ocean. The fisherman was happy to return it until he told his wife about the fish when he got
home. Since he and his wife lived in a small pig sty she was furious that he didn t ask for anything,

Government s Immense Control Over the American Population...
When a politician speaks does it cross the minds of others to truly believe and trust that they know
what they are talking about? What is politics? Politics is the art or science of government,
especially the governing of a political entity, such as a nation, and the administration and control of
its internal and external affairs (PoliticsDefinition). The government regulates or censors
everything from what we watch on TV to what the future of America (i.e. children) learns at
school. Is this type of control necessarily a good thing? Politics and politicians alike should not
have as much power in the control of the lives of people. Most laws have been passed for the
personal gain of those it is implied to help.
Laws are being passed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Congress passed the Alien and Sedition Acts in 1798 prohibiting false, scandalous and malicious
writing against the government which was repudiated by the Republicans in power in 1802. For the
next twenty five years, the only punishment was practiced by private citizens who attacked alleged
libelers.
Although censorship in some cases is a necessary thing, for example, children s programming,
kids do not need to be exposed to that sort of information. Adults need that information because,
they re the ones who are voting and taking a control of the nation. At the high school level the
students need to learn and be told what is going on. The only high school students that have any
inkling of what is going on would be the seniors in government. What about the freshman,
sophomores, and juniors who have an interest in the government. Those students are the future
politicians of our nation and will be having a say in how it is ran. It maybe, because the
government is afraid that the young people will develop the wrong ideas, that the Government has
no flaws. In reality they are correct in there thinking of this but, us as kids still want to know what
is happening. Not everything needs to be told to us but we at least want a summary of what is
going on.

Defense Of Mary Warren In The Crucible By Arthur Miller
Emma Harrison 10/24/17 Ms. Ruiz Period 6Defense of Mary Warren When it comes to Arthur
Miller s allegorical work, The Crucible, very few characters can be deemed completely innocent.
While just about every person in this story has a flaw of envy, pride, or selfishness, characters can
often be sorted into the accuser or accused categories. One exception to this is Mary Warren.
Throughout the story, her loyalties switch back and forth between these two sides. Due to this,
she may seem like a selfish and unsympathetic character; that is not the case, however. Mary
Warren is an abused and manipulated child, whose decisions in the story are certainly justified,
given her situation. The first we see of Mary is when Betty falls ill after the the girls are caught
congregating in the woods. Immediately, we see she is terrified, fully aware that them being
accused of witchcraft would be a hangin error (1268). Abigail responds to her fear with an order to
lie; she threatens them with violence should they not obey her. Abigail is one of Mary Warren s
main abusers in the story. John Proctor, Mary s employer, enters the scene next. When he sees her
away from his house, he scolds her in a humiliating fashion, even threatening to whip her. From the
stage directions, we see she tries to retain a shred of dignity (1269), when this happens, leading to
the belief that this reproach from Proctor is common in her life. We don t hear from Mary again
until the beginning of Act II. She

Chicano Park History
The most significant number of outdoor mural art in the United States is just minutes away from
downtown San Diego, but if you ve visited the city, you ve probably driven over it without even
knowing it. San Diego s Chicano Park is hidden below the San Diego Coronado Bridge. More than
70 vibrantly colored murals adorn the support pylons of the freeway overpass. The walls pay
tribute to the history of the surrounding Mexican American and immigrant community called Barrio
Logan. In the 1960s, the community was further separated by the formation of the 5 Freeway and
the high on ramps of the San Diego Coronado Bridge. City leaders didn t include tenants in the
preparation of these projects that destroyed more than 5,000 houses and local businesses.... Show

The park s story is worth retelling: The bisecting of the Barrio Logan community by I 5 and the
Coronado Bridge, ending in a concrete roof supported by large gray pillars, replaced at least 1,500
families. With a society of 20,000 in its heyday in the 1940s, the historic neighborhood was rezoned
as industrial in the 1950s, ushering in junkyards, auto wrecking operations, plating and chemical
companies, and now, a legacy of environmental and air condition issues.
In 1967, community leaders began demanding a neighborhood park under the bridge. When the
California Highway Patrol started building a substation there, hundreds of residents formed a
human shield to stop construction. They displayed signs in Spanish with statements like, More
houses, fewer junkyards, and they hoisted a Chicano flag from a telephone pole.
The use of murals as a tool of political resistance is a long Mexican tradition. Imagine the park
without murals, said Tommie Camarillo, chairwoman of the Chicano Park Steering Committee,
who has been volunteering at the park for 48

Only once in a lifetime is one blessed to witness legendary athletes perform and break records. I
was fortunate enough to witness the even during my generation when Michael Phelps smashed
world records in 1 sensational week that took the sporting world by storm. Phelps rose to stardom
and soon was minting millions through endorsement deals not only in the US but across the globe
as well. At a quick glance, one would assume that Phelps became a sensation overnight. But a
deeper research into the strategy that made Michael Phelps the sportsman he is, is astounding and
shows that a proper brand building, hard work and commitment towards the set targets and goals
can reap dividends. The following case study answers some of the questions asked in the book

Taco Day History
Just hearing the words National Taco Day makes me want to get out of bed in the morning and

in my life, National Taco Day is every day because I truly believe that tacos are absolutely
perfect for every occasion. Tacos are so important to people that a man named Jeffery M.
Pilcher, a professor of history at the University of Minnesota, traveled the world to eat tacos. For
over twenty years, Pilcher dove into the history and progression of Mexican food. He is the
author and editor of Planet Taco: A Global History of Mexican Food. Although tacos are so
popular nowadays, the history of tacos is still really quite unknown, but according to Pilcher s
research and study on the history of tacos and Mexican food, the word taco dates back to the 18th
century in the silver mines in Mexico. Back then, the word taco actually referred to a small type of
explosive that miners used to extract an ore. They would use... Show more content on

This organization will need to pre screen the individual to provide validation of financial need
for assistance through our program. Once a partnership has been established, the referral
process can proceed. The partnering organization will need to follow these steps: 1. A
representative from the partnering organization will need to contact one of our retail locations
such as LensCrafter, Sears Optical, Target Optical, or select Pearle Vision* to establish a
relationship. This is to ensure that the store knows the organization will be doing referrals and
that they have an adequate supply of vouchers to support the need. When an organization is
contacting our stores, they should speak to the OneSight Captain or store General Manager. 2.
The organization will need to write a letter of referral for the person in need on company letter
head and provide their tax ID #. This letter is to confirm the need for assistance. The tax ID #
ensures that the organization doing the referral is a non profit, charitable agency. 3. The referred
individual can then come to the designated store with their referral letter to utilize our OneSight
voucher program. Upon arrival, the recipient should notify a store associate that they would be
utilizing the voucher program. This helps to ensure that the associate directs the recipient to the
appropriate selection of frames. 4. If all necessary requirements are met and the above steps

The Miranda Warnings
Miranda Warnings The so called Miranda warnings were developed in response to the Supreme
Court s decision in Miranda v. Arizona, 384 U.S. 436 (1966). Many people believe that this
landmark decision invented the rights that are in the Miranda warning. It did not. The rights that
are included in the Miranda warning are guaranteed in the Constitution. Furthermore, the e
foundations for Miranda v. Arizona (1966) were laid in Malloy v. Hogan (1964) which applied the
privilege against self incrimination to state criminal proceedings and Escobedo v. Illinois (1964)
which allowed consultation with an attorney about the privilege against self incrimination
(Anonymous, 2004). However, prior to this decision, law enforcement officials did not have to
ensure that criminal suspects were aware of their rights prior to engaging in an interrogation. In the
underlying case, Ernesto Miranda was arrested for the kidnapping and rape of a woman. After two
hours of police interrogation, he signed a written confession. Miranda was never informed of his
right to council, his right to remain silent, or of the fact that statements he made could be used
against him. Miranda s attorney attempted to have his confession excluded at trial, but the trial
court allowed the confession and Miranda was subsequently convicted of rape and kidnapping.
Miranda appealed the decision to the Arizona Supreme Court, which affirmed, based on the notion
that Miranda had not sought out an attorney. The U.S.

A New Paradigm On The Open Market System Essay
Introduction
In this paper, we will analyze a new paradigm that is emerging recently around the religious
institutions, the whole crux of which lies in the fact that the organized religion thrives in the open
market system. The paper is further divided into six sections: literature, theory, hypothesis, method,
findings of the study, and the discussion.
Theory and Hypothesis
The sociology of the religion has been seen to be undergoing a period of change, or a paradigm
shift. Are the American kids growing up to have a different religious inclination than the kids a
generation or two ago? Religious inclination can include acknowledgement of belonging to a
certain religion, performing religious practices, attending the religious ceremonies and services,
spirituality, religious donations and charities, and approving of religious organizations
(Pargament, 1997). Although the religious affiliation for all is an important factor to be
considered, the affiliation among the adolescents particularly takes away a significant share of
importance. Religious affiliation among kids is believed to bring about a number of positive
outcomes including better physical health, less drug abuse, better social conditioning and
functioning, and fewer risk related behaviors. The kids who are more religiously inclined are
also believed to have less signs of anxiety and depression and display a strong character
(Markstorm, 1999). However, if not handled properly, religion can also drive in the feelings

A Hoc On Demand Distance Vector
CHAPTER 4
EXISTING PROTOCOL
4.1 A hoc On Demand Distance Vector (AODV)
Ad hoc On Demand Distance Vector (AODV) [1] Routing could be a routing protocol for
(MANETs) and all other wireless ad hoc networks. it s collectively developed in Nokia centre,
University of California, USA and University of cincinnati by C. Perkins, E. Belding Royer and S.
Das[16]. AODV is capable of each unicast and multicast routing. it s a reactive routing protocol,
that means that it establishes a route to a destination solely on demand. In distinction, the foremost
common routing protocols of the internet are proactive, that means they notice routing route
severally of the usage of the route. AODV is, because the name indicates, a distance vector routing
protocol. AODV avoids the counting to infinity weakness of different distance vector protocols by
use of sequence numbers on route updates.
4.2 Working
In AODV, the network is quiet until a connection is required. At that spot the network source that
needs a transmission, broadcasts a request for connection. Other AODV intermediate nodes forward
this message, and trace the node that they heard it from, create an detonation of temporary routes
back to the source node. When a intermediate node receives such a message and already has a route
to the target node, it sends a message backwards through a temporary route to the source node. The
deprived node then begins using the route that has the least number of hops through other nodes.

Modern Architecture Essays
ESSAY 1
Le Corbusier and Mies van de Rohe were two architects influenced by the contemporary
movements of their time period. Le Corbusier s architectural ideology was derived from the
multiple techniques and styles he had previously encountered through study. His early designs were
expressive of the youth style which was introduced to him by his instructor, L Eplattenier. New
technologies, however, began to influence his philosophies. Le Corbusier saw potential in concrete
building systems and desired to experiment with its structural abilities through his designs. The
modern industry, as well as the political disorder which came about following the First World War,
motivated his innovative design philosophies which appeared in ... Show more content on

Style, he described, was defined by the time period in which architects practiced like building
techniques and philosophies. Michael Speaks would have attributed the lack of new in the
architecture of Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier s era to cohesion to general manifestoes
produce outside their time period. Architects from later time periods cannot pursue the same
manifesto because technological advances in design must be considered. His arguments reveal that
following a general manifesto from start to finish will produce an unchanging architecture.
Michael Speaks wrote, I do not believe we need another manifesto in architecture, even of the
incomplete, aborted or personal variety. Architecture, it seems has suffered enough from the
illusion that manifestoes matter (except insofar as they stifle creativity) and it is time we found
other ways of developing experimental practices ... Vanguards, with their five points, seven
principles and ten theses for a new architecture, draw a line that leads straight from the manifesto
to the new. And because the completion of this line is best that can be hoped for, there is nothing
new about the new. If architects followed the same lines to solve the same problems, a new
architecture could not be actualized. A separation from the lines between manifesto and solution
made way for discovery of design and methods of creating new architecture. Mies van der Rohe and

Multinational Corporations Vs. Small And Medium...
The fundamental goal of every company is to maximise profit to make money. That is the main
reason people create businesses whether it be the large corporations or the small and medium
enterprises (SMEs). Because of gloablisation, firms are competing in a highly competitive market
where there is increasing pressure to find ways to perform better to get that above average returns.
However, there is one thing other than economies of scale that greatly disadvantage the SMEs from
the large multinational corporations (MNCs) and that is profit shifting. First of all, MNCs are
organisations that operate in more than one country. Profit shifting is when MNCs utilise the
differences in taxlaws to shift income to low tax affiliates and... Show more content on

In a journal article by Bartelsman and Beetsma (2000), they looked at the presence of profit
shifting in response to the disparity of the corporate tax rates among several OECD countries. They
used sectoral data as a method for their analysis. They have found that the magniture of profit
shifting is sufficiently great and worthy of attention. They estimate that a one percent unilateral
increase in tax rate will result in a three percent decline in corporate tax revenues, where the
organisation s profit is unchanged. Moreover, the researchers found that having stricter enforcement
in an already high tax jurisdiction will have a negative impact on their tax revenues and that real
activity is transferred to countries with lower tax rates or more lenient enforcement.
As mentioned previously, increasing pressures of competition and the goal of making more
profits are the reasons why organisations try to find ways to minimise their costs. However, profit
shifting is done because they saw the substantial disparity of corporate tax rates among countries
and thus, an opportunity to minimise costs (Bartelsman Beetsma, 2000; Holtzblatt et al., 2015).
Exhibit 1 shows the corporate tax rates in developed countries (see Appendix). Australia s
corporate tax rate is 30%, which is the 4th highest (tied with Mexico) among OECD countries,
where it is topped by the US at 35%, France at 34.43%, and Belgium at 33%. Holtzblatt et

Illusion of Love in Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s...
Illusion of Love in Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream
The play A Midsummer Night s Dream is centered around themes that are seemingly apparent and
clear: those of true love, false love, love s blindness and the inconstancy of love. However, this
pattern of the themes of love dissipate to reveal that these themes are only apparent to the reader
who wants them to exist. We want Lysander and Hermiato be in love; we want Demetrius to love
Helena as she loves him, but the question arises as to whether these lovers are actually in love. Is
Shakespeare providing us with a wholesome tale of true love or is he conveying something more
raw, more provocative than that? When taking a closer look at this play, one sees a recurring pattern
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Appearance seems to be the basis of feeling for the entire play.
The title of the play itself indicates sexual connotation. The word midsummer indicates that the play
takes place during the summer equinox which was often celebrated and closely related to May
day. There are several references to May in the play, alluding to the celebration. In medieval
times, May day was a festival of spring, celebrating courtship and fertility, prohibited in 1644
because mating and merriment got too out of control (Benet). During the festival, escape with a
lover into the woods was not scorned as it normally would be, and sexual frivolity becomes
common place. Also, May day was centered around a large, phallic structure, the maypole, around
which the people would dance, holding onto ribbons attached to the pole (Benet). The play, being
set on a day when sexuality and courtship was favourable, lends itself to the theme of sexual love
and infatuation, rather than true or romantic love.
The physical setting of the play also has strong sexual implications. The play begins in Athens, a
city where societal barriers and codes regulate the behaviour of the characters. The play soon
moves from this stoic setting into one that is more mysterious the woods. This is the place where
the fairies and mythical creatures live. It is the domain of fantasy and illusion. With the change of

Costa Rica The Little Country
You could call Costa Rica the little country that could, at least in terms of health care. Over the past
seventy years the government has enacted reforms that have changed the face of both the health
care system and health of a country. The Costa Rica health system is dedicated to providing
equitable access to citizens, while protecting them from financial risk. The improvement this middle
income country has made over the past few decades rivals that of higher income countries.
However, while this system is fundamentally efficient and effective, it is not without problems.
Throughout the last seventy years Costa Rica s healthcare system has been going through a
transformation. As the nation has taken steps to improve the health care system, the health of the
country s population has also drastically improved. For instance, in 1950 the total population of
Costa Rica was approximately one million citizens (Vargas Muiser, 2013). The life expectancy
was fifty six years for both female and male citizens (Vargas Muiser, 2013). The fertility rate for
women at that time was 6.7 (Vargas Muiser, 2013). By the twentieth century the population has
reached close to four million citizens, and the life expectancy of both male and females has risen
to seventy eight years old (Vargas Muiser, 2013). This life expectancy rate placed Costa Rica
second in the Americas, behind Canada (Unger, Buitron, Soors, 2008). The fertility rate of women
also dropped to 2.4 (Vargas

Why Men Are More Talented At Design Than Women
There is no way to accurately measure the success rate of designers based on sex or sexual
orientation, or, somewhat speciously, to examine if men are more talented at design than women.
As Valerie Steele, the chief curator of the Museum of the Fashion Institute of Technology, said:
There is no gay gene for creativity.
But circumstantial evidence is making some designers wonder about the disparities. Of the
young American designers most embraced by retailers and celebrated in the fashion press in
recent years, the roll call is almost exclusively male: Zac Posen, Marc Jacobs, Narciso Rodriguez
and Mr. Som as well as Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler. Their female
contemporaries have had a harder time breaking through, among them Behnaz Sarafpour, Alice Roi
and Ms. Subkoff.
Gay men stick together like a band of brothers, Ms. Subkoff said in an interview. It s more
common for a man to bring up a younger assistant who is male and be proud of that, she added,
whereas a woman would be threatened to promote another woman.
The Council of Fashion Designers of America, a trade group that vets those who apply for
membership, is made up of 121 women and 156 men. Since 1986 its annual Perry Ellis awards for
young talent have been given to 8 women and 29 men (20 of them openly gay).

men, and The Encyclopedia of Clothing and Fashion, published last year

The Meaning Of Gay And Homosexuality
Our world changes day by day. Humans grow, evolve, and adjust to the modern world. As our
world advances, our language and terminology progresses along with it. A word that has changed
completely in definition is gay , it has two completely different meanings. Today gay means, of,
relating to, or exhibiting sexual desire or behavior directed toward a person or persons of one s own
sex; homosexual (The Definition of Gay). and in the 12th century gay meant happy or carefree
(How Gay) How did the definition of this word change so greatly over the years?
Gay came about in the 12th century, with the meaning of carefree , joyful , or bright and showy
(How Gay). The word is first recorded in English c.1325, with the meaning of beautiful, in a
poem titled Blow, Northerne Wind, which appears in the manuscript British Library MS Harley
2253. The English word comes from the French gai, but where this French word comes from is
uncertain (Word Origins.org.). The first meaning of gay was once meant to have a meaning of
happiness. People woke up hoping to have a gay day.
By the 17th century gay started to change from meaning bright and showy to mean immorality .
By the mid 17th century, according to an Oxford dictionary definition at the time, the meaning of
the word had changed to mean addicted to pleasures and dissipations. Often euphemistically: Of
loose and immoral life (How Gay). In the span of five hundred years this word began to greatly

The Tales Of The Heike Analysis
Option 2
War has been a constant deterrent in humanities pursuit for peace. Many innocent people are
affected and persecuted in horrendous ways, and may even ask why is this happening to them.
However in The Tales of the Heike, the losers know exactly why they are losing and suffering.
This warrior tale tells the story of the Genji clan having the advantage over the Heike clan in war.
They believe it was all due to their leader, Chancellor Kiyomori, abusing his power and obtaining
bad karma not only for himself but also for his clan as well. But instead of the story showing how
triumphant and righteous the victors are, it instead written in a certain tone and has imagery that
invokes the reader to sympathize with the losing side. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example. as the Genji were getting closer to the capital the Heike had to leave their homes
which they have lived in for generations. The Heike leaders were able to flee the capital with all
of their family but for commoners they had to leave them behind. It is then described that, those
departing and those left behind alike should wet their sleeves with tears (1296). This personally
invokes an image of a child wiping his tears away with their sleeve, in both the young and old, as
they see their loved ones leaving for the last time. So you really have to sympathize with the
Heike because the innocent people are affected more than their leaders. Later on as the Heike
flee from their home and burned the imperial palace, it also described their surroundings as, the
dawn cries of deer... [and] the moon reflected in the tears on their sleeves (1297). The tone set can
be said that it is melancholic and it provides a clear image of how not only are they saddened by
this, but also

Ron Ventura Essay
RON VENTURA AT MITCHELL MEMORIAL HOSPITAL 1.What is your assessment of Ron
Ventura s performance over the term of his two year contract with the hospital? Should his contract
be renewed? I think Ron Ventura is excellent at his work and has made contribution to the
Cardiovascular Center and the entire hospital. He is really professional and technically skilled in his
field, which is recognized by most of his coworkers. He is responsible and works hard in the team.
He is willing to challenge himself and take toughest cases. He has seen more patients than any other

I think the ability to collaborate with other coworkers should be addressed in the contract. This is
related to this hospital s culture and guidance. Moreover, performance evaluation should be added
into contract renewal decision. If the opinions about an employee is tend to be negative, the
contract with this employee might need to be stopped. Some programs and trainings to address
teamwork could be used in Mitchell Memorial Hospital. 3.If you were Prescott, how would you
plan to conduct the contract renewal conversation. What would your goals be? What issues would
you raise, and why, and how would you raise them?
Firstly, I would admit that Ventura is a great surgeonand his technically skills are highly
recognized by all employees in cardiovascular center. Due to his hard and excellent work, the
vascular department had been improved. He had contribution to the entire Mitchell Memorial
Hospital. But I think his issues working with other coworkers become interference to the whole
cardiovascular team. The renewal of the contract with him needs to re considered. I would address
the issues that the residents taught by him leave the program or is lack of operation experience.
Some surgeons working with him could hardly con duct operation under his control and couldn t
feel the value being in the team. There is some boundary issues with nursing staff. OR is not a
place for himself to perform a surgery. If he doesn t show respect and patient to coworkers,

Critical Analysis of The Electronic Sweatshop by Barbara Garson *No Works Cited Summary In
her introduction, Barbara Garson gives the reader an idea of her personal work experience as a
clerk with automation. One can see that Garson is a strong critique of automation. In order to
convey how automation is affecting our society the author begins by analyzing and studying
various jobs from the bottom on up (i.e. starting with the most unskilled labor). Chapter one
examines the various occupations at McDonalds s. Barbara Garson finds that most workers here
tend to dislike their jobs. Due to the tremendous amount of stress created by automated systems

At first I tried to use my own conversational skills when dealing with customers, but it did not
take long until my supervisors started to discipline me about how important it supposedly is to
follow the given scripts. Hence, I used these scripts and my 5 hour work day seemed like an
eternity. I felt like a wind up doll and eventually quit the job although I was desperately in need
of money. The reason I am mentioning this is because I believe that in reality there is no
difference between the fast food employee and the reservation agent in terms of individuality.
Through automation, both professions have lost their personal touch to the public. In my case I
tried to solicit funds from individuals using my own ideas and creativity, yet was not allowed to
do so. Hence, my job became monotonous. Quite honestly I do not believe Kenny when he
states that he likes his work. He argues that he gets to deal with the public. But in order to do so
he follows an unoriginal set of scripts and phrases. Thus, does he really get to talk to the public
or is he merely a machine or parrot triggered by certain key words such as Yes, No, or Maybe.
Furthermore, Kenny was an actor. This profession also requires one to follow scripts, yet what sets
one actor apart from another is their individuality. When Kenny plays a role where he has to

the sides. The room is structured like a barrel vault with round arch windows symmetric to the
mirrors reflecting the garden. Golden sculptures of women are placed in between the mirrors
against the marble wall. The vaulted ceilings are covered with illustrations of the success of France
painted by Le Brun. He also decorated the roomsso his artistic vision can be seen everywhere. My

of the statement that Le Brun was trying to make is that he wanted to show that the king is very
successful during his reign because he defeated his enemies and that he was a very powerful man.
The room focuses on the French victories through illustrations on the ceilings. One painting that
caught my eyes were the one with the army floating on clouds showing their victory against their

Let s examine Naturalistic observation first. To start, what is naturalistic observation? This term is
defined as the inconspicuous (as much as possible) observation of an individual/group in their

contains hard to grasp concepts with underlying themes and ideas. Introduce formalism, the
formalist literary criticism acts as a way to simplify and convey the complex topics that are not
explained thoroughly in most literature. The Invisible Manby H.G. Wells, and The Giving Tree by
Shell Silverstein are two works of literature that convey important ideas that literature does,
without the complex layers most literature has. The Formalist or New literary criticism is
reflected in both of these books through their style, tone, and structure. The style in both novels is
simple first person and third person point of view. Though it may seem trivial, the point of view
helps the author effectively convey the message of their story without hidden messages, plots, and
themes to decipher. In The Invisible Man, Wells had to imagine how one might feel with no
physical appearance, full of shame for his experiments gone awry, and longing to regain what he
had and who he once was and put those thoughts and feelings into words. Shell Silverstein uses
dialogue between a boy and a tree to teach, and convey ideas of unconditional love, and selflessness
in The Giving Tree. Distinguishing between kinds of writing not according to their different forms
but according to their unequal

Clinical Trial Essay
Clinical trials are often designed to test new biomedical or behavioral interventions such as new
treatments/drugs, prevention strategies, screening programs, diagnostic tests, and educational
models. The rapid increase in the costs of conducting clinical trials has made the efficient design
of clinical trials more important in recent years. For example, a new report published by Tufts
Center for the Study of Drug Development (CSDD) expresses that the costs of new drug
development which is one of the wide applications of clinical trials have been pegged at $2.558
billion, with a 145% increase over an estimate made in 2003 [9].
2.Clinical trial classification
Clinical trials are divided into two main classes based on how participants are allocated to different
interventions: randomized and non randomized controlled trials [21]. Non randomized trials (also
called quasi experiment) assign participants to the treatments, procedures, or interventions by
methods that are not random. These trials are used when randomization is impractical and/or
unethical. They are typically easier to set up than randomized trials which need random assignment
of subjects. Lack of random assignment in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the simplest case, a 2x2 factorial trial design generates four sets of data to analyze based on
whether subjects receive interventions A only, B only, both A and B, or neither A or B. Thus, the
factorial designs can evaluate not only the effects of each intervention but also the interaction that
may exist between two interventions (or treatments). For this reason, this trial design can be
viewed as an efficient way to conduct two trials in one. However, it is not recommended when
comparing the two interventions to each other is considered as a primary purpose

The Inevitability Of Failure Summary
Summary of Article The Inevitability of Failure: The Flawed Assumption of
Security in Modern Computing Environments
The article, which addresses security loopholes in modern computing environments, by Loscocco et
al highlights what is and has been being done security wise in the past and how secure these
implementations were and going forward what should be done to ensure in depth security which
guarantees system wide security (1998). The article first explains features of secure operating
system and why current systems implemented under the notion of application space security
ultimately failed to safe guard the integrity and confidentiality of our assets. The article then
continued with general examples of access control and cryptography implemented in the
application space with no or little support from operating system and showed their vulnerabilities to
attacks such as tampering, bypassing and spoofing. The article supplied real life examples to
support the evidence that building security in the application space without secure operating system
is meaningless. The article raised concrete examples on mobile code security, Kerberos network
authentication service, IPSEC and SSL network security protocols and firewall. The paper finally
put an interesting remark that security implemented in application space without secure operating
system is like building a house in a pile of sand and it also emphasized that secure operating system
without better security on the

Difference Between Urban And Rural Life
COMPARISON OF RURAL AND URBAN WAY OF LIFE
Introduction:
There are two different ways of life in our society. Rural and urban society. Both ways of life are
opposite to each other. Rural society is a conservative society but urban society is an advanced
society. People living in backward areas make rural society and people living in advanced areas
make urban society.
RURAL SOCIETY:
Rural society is under developed and conservative society and different from urban society due to
many reasons:
EDUCATION:
People are not educated in rural areas. They are not aware about the importance of education in
life. They do not afford education for their children. Most of the people in rural areas are poor.
There are no education centers, colleges and authorized universities in rural areas. Everyone is
illiterate. There are small schools located in rural areas where children are not taught ... Show more

Education system is organized. There are high schools, colleges and highly authorized
universities. There are many job opportunities in urban areas. People are aware. People know the
importance of education in life. Parents send their children to high schools because they are
aware and they can afford their education expenses. People are broad minded. They have manners
how to sit and behave. They try to learn manners by copying their fellows. People are always in
competition in urban society and this is increasing day by day.
STRUCTURE OF SOCIETY:
Urban society is highly structured society. People are aware in urban society. Rules and
responsibilities are defined. Urban society is a fast pace of life. People know their rights, needs
and their problems. It is a developed society. People are social. They do not have time to sit
together and have a chit chat with each other. People even do not have time for their families. All
members of the family live in separate rooms and they do not have time for each other.

Child Corruption And Child Trafficking
With money running the world, it is not unexpected that corruption and child trafficking are
entwined at the most rudimentary level. Often, money is the driving factor of most forms of child
trafficking, whether it is a result of the victim desperately seeking out employment to support
themselves and their family or the perpetrator utilizes their financial control over the victimto retain
their product. Unfortunately, due to their very nature, children are considered some of the most
vulnerable and sought after targets for traffickers. In a 2005 International Labor Organization
report, there is an estimated that 980,000 to 1,225,000 children both boys and girls are in a forced
labor situation as a result of trafficking across the world. In response to this pandemic, actions have
been attempted by both international organizations ( IO ) (United Nations( U.N. ), Interpol, Non
Government Organizations ( NGO ), etc...) and state actors to reduce and prevent child trafficking.
Such actions included adopting international treaties, such as the Convention Against Corruption(
CAC ) and Convention of the Rights of the Child ( CRC ), to address the social, economic, and
cultural factors that contributed to corruption and child trafficking. From there, many nations states
established domestic legislation by either directly or indirectly adopting provisions in the
international treaties to provide a means to criminalize the immoral perpetrators and protect the
victims of

Age-Related Macular Degeneration Research Paper
Regenerative Medicine: Utilizing stem cells for the treatment of Age related Macular
Degeneration Age related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of blindness for
people 60 years of age and older in the developed world. Vision loss is caused by the destruction
of the cone photoreceptors, located in the macula, that are responsible for color/central vision.
The underlying cause of AMD is the loss of the monolayer of pigmented epithelial cells located
just below the photoreceptors, known as the retinal pigmentum epithelium (RPE). The main role
of the RPE is to maintain the function of the photoreceptor layer by secreting nutrients,
absorbing stray light, and recycling debris used during the visual cycle. As a person ages the
efficiency of the RPE layer is diminished causing a build up of toxic by products. These toxic
build ups, known as drusens, result in the separation and death of the photoreceptor and RPE
layers. AMD is speculated to result from as many as 20 different genetic mutations and as a result
there is no known cure for the disease (CITE), but recent advances in stem cell therapy is a hopeful
step in the right direction.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These capabilities make stem cells the precursor to all of the body tissues found in an organism.
There are many different stem cells found in humans. The biggest distinction between them is their
relative abilities to produce different tissues in the body, known as potency. For example,
embryonic stem cells (ESC) are pluripotent and capable of differentiating into all of the tissue of
the body, while hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) an adult stem cell are multipotent and only able to
differentiate into the lymphoid and myeloid blood

  • 3. Economics of Information Introduction There have been discussions among scholars in developed countries regarding economics of information. Developed countries includes Australia, New Zealand, United States, Ireland, Germany, Japan, Canada and many more are countries that have a high level of development according to some criteria. The criterion is income per capita; countries with high gross domestic product (GDP) per capita would thus be described as developed countries. Another economic criterion is industrialization; countries in which the tertiary and quaternary sectors of industry dominate would thus be described as developed. Information goods and services can be shared and consumed with other consumers at the same time, cannot be easily returned, perhaps these properties make information economics different from other forms of economics. For instance more than one person can enjoy a movie in a theatre simultaneously, more than one person can read the same book, view the same television program, and use the same web site. This property of information makes it a public or shared good. Usually it will involve high fixed costs of production but the cost of reproduction is just at lower marginal. As we know, information managers make economic decision every day for their organization management. Each decision is a choice among competing alternatives, for example, a good manager must be good at choosing how to allocate and make use a fixed budget among employees, suppliers, computers, and many more expenditures. If a manager spends more money in one expense category, it will result in less to spend in another for instance, a public library director must choose whether to buy a new computer or a new photocopier. Besides, he or she may decide to open the library on Sundays or the extra money spent on staff and utilities to keep the library open could have been spent purchasing more books to support the library collections and holdings. What is politics? Politics is the art or science of government, especially the governing of a political entity, such as a nation, and the administration and control of its internal and external affairs (PoliticsDefinition). The government regulates or censors everything from what we watch on TV to what the future of America (i.e. children) learns at school. Is this type of control necessarily a good thing? Although censorship in some cases is a necessary thing, for example, children s programming, kids do not need to be exposed to that sort of information. Adults need that information because, they re the ones who are voting and taking a control of the nation. At the high school level the students need to learn and be told what is going on. The only high school students that have any inkling of what is going on would be the seniors in government. What about the freshman, sophomores, and juniors who have an interest in the government. Those students are the future politicians of our nation and will be having a say in how it is ran. It maybe, because the government is afraid that the young people will develop the wrong ideas, that the Government has no flaws. In reality they are correct in there thinking of this but, us as kids still want to know what is happening. Not everything needs to be told to us but we at least want a summary of what is going on. • 6. Defense Of Mary Warren In The Crucible By Arthur Miller Emma Harrison 10/24/17 Ms. Ruiz Period 6Defense of Mary Warren When it comes to Arthur Miller s allegorical work, The Crucible, very few characters can be deemed completely innocent. While just about every person in this story has a flaw of envy, pride, or selfishness, characters can often be sorted into the accuser or accused categories. One exception to this is Mary Warren. Throughout the story, her loyalties switch back and forth between these two sides. Due to this, she may seem like a selfish and unsympathetic character; that is not the case, however. Mary Warren is an abused and manipulated child, whose decisions in the story are certainly justified, given her situation. The first we see of Mary is when Betty falls ill after the the girls are caught congregating in the woods. Immediately, we see she is terrified, fully aware that them being accused of witchcraft would be a hangin error (1268). Abigail responds to her fear with an order to lie; she threatens them with violence should they not obey her. Abigail is one of Mary Warren s main abusers in the story. John Proctor, Mary s employer, enters the scene next. When he sees her away from his house, he scolds her in a humiliating fashion, even threatening to whip her. From the stage directions, we see she tries to retain a shred of dignity (1269), when this happens, leading to the belief that this reproach from Proctor is common in her life. We don t hear from Mary again until the beginning of Act II. She ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 1967, community leaders began demanding a neighborhood park under the bridge. When the California Highway Patrol started building a substation there, hundreds of residents formed a human shield to stop construction. • 11. The Miranda Warnings Miranda Warnings The so called Miranda warnings were developed in response to the Supreme Court s decision in Miranda v. Arizona, 384 U.S. 436 (1966). Many people believe that this landmark decision invented the rights that are in the Miranda warning. It did not. The rights that are included in the Miranda warning are guaranteed in the Constitution. Furthermore, the e foundations for Miranda v. Arizona (1966) were laid in Malloy v. Hogan (1964) which applied the privilege against self incrimination to state criminal proceedings and Escobedo v. Illinois (1964) which allowed consultation with an attorney about the privilege against self incrimination (Anonymous, 2004). However, prior to this decision, law enforcement officials did not have to ensure that criminal suspects were aware of their rights prior to engaging in an interrogation. In the underlying case, Ernesto Miranda was arrested for the kidnapping and rape of a woman. After two hours of police interrogation, he signed a written confession. Miranda was never informed of his right to council, his right to remain silent, or of the fact that statements he made could be used against him. Miranda s attorney attempted to have his confession excluded at trial, but the trial court allowed the confession and Miranda was subsequently convicted of rape and kidnapping. Miranda appealed the decision to the Arizona Supreme Court, which affirmed, based on the notion that Miranda had not sought out an attorney. The U.S. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. A New Paradigm On The Open Market System Essay Introduction In this paper, we will analyze a new paradigm that is emerging recently around the religious institutions, the whole crux of which lies in the fact that the organized religion thrives in the open market system. The paper is further divided into six sections: literature, theory, hypothesis, method, findings of the study, and the discussion. Theory and Hypothesis The sociology of the religion has been seen to be undergoing a period of change, or a paradigm shift. Are the American kids growing up to have a different religious inclination than the kids a generation or two ago? Religious inclination can include acknowledgement of belonging to a certain religion, performing religious practices, attending the religious ceremonies and services, spirituality, religious donations and charities, and approving of religious organizations (Pargament, 1997). Although the religious affiliation for all is an important factor to be considered, the affiliation among the adolescents particularly takes away a significant share of importance. Religious affiliation among kids is believed to bring about a number of positive outcomes including better physical health, less drug abuse, better social conditioning and functioning, and fewer risk related behaviors. The kids who are more religiously inclined are also believed to have less signs of anxiety and depression and display a strong character (Markstorm, 1999). Perkins, E. Belding Royer and S. Das[16]. AODV is capable of each unicast and multicast routing. it s a reactive routing protocol, that means that it establishes a route to a destination solely on demand. In distinction, the foremost common routing protocols of the internet are proactive, that means they notice routing route severally of the usage of the route. AODV is, because the name indicates, a distance vector routing protocol. AODV avoids the counting to infinity weakness of different distance vector protocols by use of sequence numbers on route updates. 4.2 Working In AODV, the network is quiet until a connection is required. At that spot the network source that needs a transmission, broadcasts a request for connection. Other AODV intermediate nodes forward this message, and trace the node that they heard it from, create an detonation of temporary routes back to the source node. When a intermediate node receives such a message and already has a route to the target node, it sends a message backwards through a temporary route to the source node. Le Corbusier s architectural ideology was derived from the multiple techniques and styles he had previously encountered through study. His early designs were expressive of the youth style which was introduced to him by his instructor, L Eplattenier. New technologies, however, began to influence his philosophies. Le Corbusier saw potential in concrete building systems and desired to experiment with its structural abilities through his designs. Architects from later time periods cannot pursue the same manifesto because technological advances in design must be considered. His arguments reveal that following a general manifesto from start to finish will produce an unchanging architecture. Michael Speaks wrote, I do not believe we need another manifesto in architecture, even of the incomplete, aborted or personal variety. Architecture, it seems has suffered enough from the illusion that manifestoes matter (except insofar as they stifle creativity) and it is time we found other ways of developing experimental practices ... Vanguards, with their five points, seven principles and ten theses for a new architecture, draw a line that leads straight from the manifesto to the new. And because the completion of this line is best that can be hoped for, there is nothing new about the new. If architects followed the same lines to solve the same problems, a new architecture could not be actualized. That is the main reason people create businesses whether it be the large corporations or the small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Because of gloablisation, firms are competing in a highly competitive market where there is increasing pressure to find ways to perform better to get that above average returns. However, there is one thing other than economies of scale that greatly disadvantage the SMEs from the large multinational corporations (MNCs) and that is profit shifting. First of all, MNCs are organisations that operate in more than one country. Profit shifting is when MNCs utilise the differences in taxlaws to shift income to low tax affiliates and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In a journal article by Bartelsman and Beetsma (2000), they looked at the presence of profit shifting in response to the disparity of the corporate tax rates among several OECD countries. They used sectoral data as a method for their analysis. They have found that the magniture of profit shifting is sufficiently great and worthy of attention. They estimate that a one percent unilateral increase in tax rate will result in a three percent decline in corporate tax revenues, where the organisation s profit is unchanged. Moreover, the researchers found that having stricter enforcement in an already high tax jurisdiction will have a negative impact on their tax revenues and that real activity is transferred to countries with lower tax rates or more lenient enforcement. As mentioned previously, increasing pressures of competition and the goal of making more profits are the reasons why organisations try to find ways to minimise their costs. However, profit shifting is done because they saw the substantial disparity of corporate tax rates among countries and thus, an opportunity to minimise costs (Bartelsman Beetsma, 2000; Holtzblatt et al., 2015). Exhibit 1 shows the corporate tax rates in developed countries (see Appendix). Illusion of Love in Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream The play A Midsummer Night s Dream is centered around themes that are seemingly apparent and clear: those of true love, false love, love s blindness and the inconstancy of love. However, this pattern of the themes of love dissipate to reveal that these themes are only apparent to the reader who wants them to exist. We want Lysander and Hermiato be in love; we want Demetrius to love Helena as she loves him, but the question arises as to whether these lovers are actually in love. Is Shakespeare providing us with a wholesome tale of true love or is he conveying something more raw, more provocative than that? The title of the play itself indicates sexual connotation. The word midsummer indicates that the play takes place during the summer equinox which was often celebrated and closely related to May day. There are several references to May in the play, alluding to the celebration. In medieval times, May day was a festival of spring, celebrating courtship and fertility, prohibited in 1644 because mating and merriment got too out of control (Benet). During the festival, escape with a lover into the woods was not scorned as it normally would be, and sexual frivolity becomes common place. Also, May day was centered around a large, phallic structure, the maypole, around which the people would dance, holding onto ribbons attached to the pole (Benet). The play, being set on a day when sexuality and courtship was favourable, lends itself to the theme of sexual love and infatuation, rather than true or romantic love. The physical setting of the play also has strong sexual implications. The play begins in Athens, a city where societal barriers and codes regulate the behaviour of the characters. The play soon moves from this stoic setting into one that is more mysterious the woods. This is the place where the fairies and mythical creatures live. It is the domain of fantasy and illusion. • 17. Costa Rica The Little Country You could call Costa Rica the little country that could, at least in terms of health care. Over the past seventy years the government has enacted reforms that have changed the face of both the health care system and health of a country. The Costa Rica health system is dedicated to providing equitable access to citizens, while protecting them from financial risk. The improvement this middle income country has made over the past few decades rivals that of higher income countries. However, while this system is fundamentally efficient and effective, it is not without problems. Throughout the last seventy years Costa Rica s healthcare system has been going through a transformation. As the nation has taken steps to improve the health care system, the health of the country s population has also drastically improved. For instance, in 1950 the total population of Costa Rica was approximately one million citizens (Vargas Muiser, 2013). The life expectancy was fifty six years for both female and male citizens (Vargas Muiser, 2013). The fertility rate for women at that time was 6.7 (Vargas Muiser, 2013). By the twentieth century the population has reached close to four million citizens, and the life expectancy of both male and females has risen to seventy eight years old (Vargas Muiser, 2013). • 18. Why Men Are More Talented At Design Than Women There is no way to accurately measure the success rate of designers based on sex or sexual orientation, or, somewhat speciously, to examine if men are more talented at design than women. As Valerie Steele, the chief curator of the Museum of the Fashion Institute of Technology, said: There is no gay gene for creativity. But circumstantial evidence is making some designers wonder about the disparities. Of the young American designers most embraced by retailers and celebrated in the fashion press in recent years, the roll call is almost exclusively male: Zac Posen, Marc Jacobs, Narciso Rodriguez and Mr. Som as well as Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler. Their female contemporaries have had a harder time breaking through, among them Behnaz Sarafpour, Alice Roi and Ms. Subkoff. Gay men stick together like a band of brothers, Ms. Subkoff said in an interview. It s more common for a man to bring up a younger assistant who is male and be proud of that, she added, whereas a woman would be threatened to promote another woman. The Council of Fashion Designers of America, a trade group that vets those who apply for membership, is made up of 121 women and 156 men. Since 1986 its annual Perry Ellis awards for young talent have been given to 8 women and 29 men (20 of them openly gay). As our world advances, our language and terminology progresses along with it. A word that has changed completely in definition is gay , it has two completely different meanings. Today gay means, of, relating to, or exhibiting sexual desire or behavior directed toward a person or persons of one s own sex; homosexual (The Definition of Gay). and in the 12th century gay meant happy or carefree (How Gay) How did the definition of this word change so greatly over the years? Gay came about in the 12th century, with the meaning of carefree , joyful , or bright and showy (How Gay). The word is first recorded in English c.1325, with the meaning of beautiful, in a poem titled Blow, Northerne Wind, which appears in the manuscript British Library MS Harley 2253. • 21. The Tales Of The Heike Analysis Option 2 War has been a constant deterrent in humanities pursuit for peace. Many innocent people are affected and persecuted in horrendous ways, and may even ask why is this happening to them. However in The Tales of the Heike, the losers know exactly why they are losing and suffering. This warrior tale tells the story of the Genji clan having the advantage over the Heike clan in war. They believe it was all due to their leader, Chancellor Kiyomori, abusing his power and obtaining bad karma not only for himself but also for his clan as well. But instead of the story showing how triumphant and righteous the victors are, it instead written in a certain tone and has imagery that invokes the reader to sympathize with the losing side. ... The Heike leaders were able to flee the capital with all of their family but for commoners they had to leave them behind. It is then described that, those departing and those left behind alike should wet their sleeves with tears (1296). This personally invokes an image of a child wiping his tears away with their sleeve, in both the young and old, as they see their loved ones leaving for the last time. So you really have to sympathize with the Heike because the innocent people are affected more than their leaders. Later on as the Heike flee from their home and burned the imperial palace, it also described their surroundings as, the dawn cries of deer... The reason I am mentioning this is because I believe that in reality there is no difference between the fast food employee and the reservation agent in terms of individuality. Through automation, both professions have lost their personal touch to the public. In my case I tried to solicit funds from individuals using my own ideas and creativity, yet was not allowed to do so. Hence, my job became monotonous. Quite honestly I do not believe Kenny when he states that he likes his work. He argues that he gets to deal with the public. But in order to do so he follows an unoriginal set of scripts and phrases. Thus, does he really get to talk to the public or is he merely a machine or parrot triggered by certain key words such as Yes, No, or Maybe. Furthermore, Kenny was an actor. The Formalist or New literary criticism is reflected in both of these books through their style, tone, and structure. The style in both novels is simple first person and third person point of view. • 42. Clinical Trial Essay Clinical trials are often designed to test new biomedical or behavioral interventions such as new treatments/drugs, prevention strategies, screening programs, diagnostic tests, and educational models. The rapid increase in the costs of conducting clinical trials has made the efficient design of clinical trials more important in recent years. For example, a new report published by Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development (CSDD) expresses that the costs of new drug development which is one of the wide applications of clinical trials have been pegged at $2.558 billion, with a 145% increase over an estimate made in 2003 [9]. 2.Clinical trial classification Clinical trials are divided into two main classes based on how participants are allocated to different interventions: randomized and non randomized controlled trials [21]. Non randomized trials (also called quasi experiment) assign participants to the treatments, procedures, or interventions by methods that are not random. These trials are used when randomization is impractical and/or unethical. They are typically easier to set up than randomized trials which need random assignment of subjects. Lack of random assignment in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the simplest case, a 2x2 factorial trial design generates four sets of data to analyze based on whether subjects receive interventions A only, B only, both A and B, or neither A or B. Thus, the factorial designs can evaluate not only the effects of each intervention but also the interaction that may exist between two interventions (or treatments). For this reason, this trial design can be viewed as an efficient way to conduct two trials in one. However, it is not recommended when comparing the two interventions to each other is considered as a primary purpose ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. The Inevitability Of Failure Summary Summary of Article The Inevitability of Failure: The Flawed Assumption of Security in Modern Computing Environments The article, which addresses security loopholes in modern computing environments, by Loscocco et al highlights what is and has been being done security wise in the past and how secure these implementations were and going forward what should be done to ensure in depth security which guarantees system wide security (1998). The article first explains features of secure operating system and why current systems implemented under the notion of application space security ultimately failed to safe guard the integrity and confidentiality of our assets. The article then continued with general examples of access control and cryptography implemented in the application space with no or little support from operating system and showed their vulnerabilities to attacks such as tampering, bypassing and spoofing. The article supplied real life examples to support the evidence that building security in the application space without secure operating system is meaningless. The article raised concrete examples on mobile code security, Kerberos network authentication service, IPSEC and SSL network security protocols and firewall. The paper finally put an interesting remark that security implemented in application space without secure operating system is like building a house in a pile of sand and it also emphasized that secure operating system without better security on the ... • 44. Difference Between Urban And Rural Life COMPARISON OF RURAL AND URBAN WAY OF LIFE Introduction: There are two different ways of life in our society. Rural and urban society. Both ways of life are opposite to each other. Rural society is a conservative society but urban society is an advanced society. People living in backward areas make rural society and people living in advanced areas make urban society. RURAL SOCIETY: Rural society is under developed and conservative society and different from urban society due to many reasons: EDUCATION: People are not educated in rural areas. They are not aware about the importance of education in life. They do not afford education for their children. Most of the people in rural areas are poor. There are no education centers, colleges and authorized universities in rural areas. Everyone is illiterate. There are small schools located in rural areas where children are not taught ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Education system is organized. There are high schools, colleges and highly authorized universities. There are many job opportunities in urban areas. People are aware. People know the importance of education in life. Parents send their children to high schools because they are aware and they can afford their education expenses. People are broad minded. They have manners how to sit and behave. They try to learn manners by copying their fellows. People are always in competition in urban society and this is increasing day by day. STRUCTURE OF SOCIETY: Urban society is highly structured society. People are aware in urban society. Rules and responsibilities are defined. Urban society is a fast pace of life. People know their rights, needs and their problems. It is a developed society. People are social. They do not have time to sit together and have a chit chat with each other. People even do not have time for their families. All members of the family live in separate rooms and they do not have time for each other. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Child Corruption And Child Trafficking With money running the world, it is not unexpected that corruption and child trafficking are entwined at the most rudimentary level. Often, money is the driving factor of most forms of child trafficking, whether it is a result of the victim desperately seeking out employment to support themselves and their family or the perpetrator utilizes their financial control over the victimto retain their product. Unfortunately, due to their very nature, children are considered some of the most vulnerable and sought after targets for traffickers. In a 2005 International Labor Organization report, there is an estimated that 980,000 to 1,225,000 children both boys and girls are in a forced labor situation as a result of trafficking across the world. In response to this pandemic, actions have been attempted by both international organizations ( IO ) (United Nations( U.N. ), Interpol, Non Government Organizations ( NGO ), etc...) and state actors to reduce and prevent child trafficking. Such actions included adopting international treaties, such as the Convention Against Corruption( CAC ) and Convention of the Rights of the Child ( CRC ), to address the social, economic, and cultural factors that contributed to corruption and child trafficking. From there, many nations states established domestic legislation by either directly or indirectly adopting provisions in the international treaties to provide a means to criminalize the immoral perpetrators and protect the victims of ... • 46. Age-Related Macular Degeneration Research Paper Regenerative Medicine: Utilizing stem cells for the treatment of Age related Macular Degeneration Age related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of blindness for people 60 years of age and older in the developed world. Vision loss is caused by the destruction of the cone photoreceptors, located in the macula, that are responsible for color/central vision. The underlying cause of AMD is the loss of the monolayer of pigmented epithelial cells located just below the photoreceptors, known as the retinal pigmentum epithelium (RPE). The main role of the RPE is to maintain the function of the photoreceptor layer by secreting nutrients, absorbing stray light, and recycling debris used during the visual cycle. As a person ages the efficiency of the RPE layer is diminished causing a build up of toxic by products. These toxic build ups, known as drusens, result in the separation and death of the photoreceptor and RPE layers. AMD is speculated to result from as many as 20 different genetic mutations and as a result there is no known cure for the disease (CITE), but recent advances in stem cell therapy is a hopeful step in the right direction.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These capabilities make stem cells the precursor to all of the body tissues found in an organism. There are many different stem cells found in humans. The biggest distinction between them is their relative abilities to produce different tissues in the body, known as potency. For example, embryonic stem cells (ESC) are pluripotent and capable of differentiating into all of the tissue of the body, while hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) an adult stem cell are multipotent and only able to differentiate into the lymphoid and myeloid blood ...
