Secondhand Smoking Should Be Illegal
In our generation smoking still exists even though there are some people who quit smoking and there
are some still smoke in ages, however the only problem in our society, people who smoke around
youngsters called as well as secondhand smoking is a detective around children and adults. It is
important that secondhand smoke shouldn t be smoking around their own children or underage due to
health. Secondhand smoking, tobacco smoke is exhaled by a second smoker or is given off by burning
tobacco and also is inhaled by someone nearby which it s called passive Smoke. It occurs when
tobacco smoke spread throughout any environment, which causes it s inhalation by people within that
particular environment. The state of being exposed to secondhand ... Show more content on

Children s lungs are still developing at young ages and adult s occurs harmful effects on the heart.
There are millions of children breathing smoke in their home with second hand smoke and second
hand smokers don t realize that their children are especially at more risk to their health than they are.
Smoking in vehicles with under age of 18 should ban the law and children whose parents smoke
around should also be illegal because in a small enclosed space such as a vehicle with a sunroof has
more toxic air which expose breathing more rapidly. According to the author Leada Grove, created an
article from AL.com wrote that 80 percent of smoke is invisivble and opening windows does not
remove its harmful effects. The level of toxic air in a vehicle where someone is smoking is up to 10
times worse than levels that is considered hazardous . Approximately 250,000 children and adults (non
smokers) have died from health problems that exposed to secondhand smoke. Some states in the U.S.
had established the secondhand smoke law that is illegal, however other states are still under
construction to establish this law. All states should make this law a new law for all second hand
smokers because as of right now our country have gained a major health issue and money wise for the
government.
From the other side of my argument, People who smoke argue that they have personal rights and the
right to burn their own cigarette any way they

Peter Stockman And A Villain
What is the difference between the hero in a story and the villain? The hero is supposed to do the good
and the villain is supposed to be against it. When it comes down to saving the day or ruining it, there
always has to be a strategic plan that tackles all the odds. If there isn t a realistic plan to accomplish a
goal then there might be risks and consequences in the process of trying to achieve the objective.
Although Peter Stockmann is not as charismatic a leader as his younger brother Tom, Ibsen seems to
support the mayor s view of how organization and political systems must work to control the
population and prevent chaos. He is much more effective and strategic in dealing with the press and in
conducting public meetings.

Stockman and his brother had some kind of rivalry. When Dr. Stockmann got feedback about his
investigation, he was eager to show off the news at the administration for not listening to him. He
thought the town was going to praise him for the discovery and think of him as a hero for saving the
town. He was not mindful of keeping quiet until he had all his fact right. Dr. Stockmann affirmed, Of
course I warned them. When they started the damn thing I told them not to build it down there! But
who am I, a mere scientist, to tell politicians where to build a health institute! Well, now they re going
to get it, both barrels! Dr. Stockmann couldn t wait to tell the people, so they could see how successful
of a scientist he was. He basically felt like rubbing his discovery on all the politicians faces for not
listening to him. He was blinded by all the praises he thought he was going to get and thought
everything would be so easy to do. Mr. Kiil claimed You admit there s some doubt in your mind about
the water, you admit there may be ways to disinfect it, and yet you went after your brother as though
these doubts didn t exist (Act III). Ibsen reveals that there might be other reasons for Mr. Stockmann
to act this way. Ibsen reveals some kind of rivalry of superiority between these two brothers. Tom did
try to negotiate asking his brother to not say something about the spring and they ll work on it later on.

Crime Of Organized Crime And Criminal Structures
The topic of this paper is gangsters in organized crime can either work alone or work with other
gangsters. When people commit crimes with other criminals, their personal ties to each other become
strong when there is especially trust or there could be no trust, however, those ties can become strong
at some point.
My paper will be about on the organized criminal structures that Frank Costello had. In the book, it
has a lot of personal ties telling the reader who ties personally that Costello had with people that is
what the paper will be about. In the illegal activities that Costello committed, what type of crimes has
he committed. All of the activities that Costello did during his life will be until his death. My paper
will be about criminal structures and the overall generalization about it. What will be described is
what type of criminal structures Costello had. Was it hierarchical and etc? What money ties or the
economically aspect are in criminal structures will be talked about. My paper will also be about how
law enforcement ties to criminal structures and networks to other people and getting the people doing
illegal business caught. The final paper will also talk about how important trust is in criminal
structures. What would be talked about is even if having ties to other ties regarding people will a
person reoffend. In one part of the paper, it will be about criminal networks.

Georgia Essay
Introduction Georgia, the Peach State, the Empire of the South, the 13th colony born to be a place of
refugee are all ways we can know the state of Georgia. Where Georgia and what is the state of
Georgia. These two questions can be easily answered by reading my essay about Georgia. So, let s go
into the land of free and the home of brave. History Georgia was the first of 10 states to vote against
ratification of the 19th Amendment, giving woman the right to vote. Even after it became a federal law
in August 26, 1920, Georgia women were prevented from voting until 1922. The state legislature did
not officially ratify the amendment until 1970. In 1957, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Senators, 14 U.S. Representatives, 56 State Senators, and 180 State Representatives. Georgia s rich
history spans nearly three centuries. From military conflicts to flourishing economic items, Georgia
has always been a state that knows how to make the most of any circumstances. Georgia was
primarily uninvolved with the Revolutionary War. However, then the state seceded from the Union. In
1861, it thrust itself into a war that would take a toll on its people and landscape. After the war,
Georgia was allowed to rejoin the Union in 1870, the last southern state to rejoin. Georgia regained its
footing as a functional state during its reconstruction period, which is 1865 1877. The early 20th
century showed Georgia no mercy as the Great Depression settled into the cities and countryside.
Farming suffered from the poor climate (drought) and boll weevil. As Georgia emerged from the Great
Depression, the state found a new area of economic development called aviation. Georgia became a
hub of activity for the airline industry, and by 1941, Atlanta s airport became home to Delta Air Lines
and Eastern Air Lines. The later part of the 20th century brought an eruption of business activity to
Georgia. As Georgia progresses through the 21st century, the spirit of resilience continues from the
Alabama border to the coast of Savannah. Residents of the historic Peach State are still making
economic and social progress as they add to the rich legacy of Georgia. The largest

Reflection Paper On Selfishness
ME ME ME How does this help me? Wait what do I get out of this Of course I deserve it I want it I
need it Just give it to me, said Erin Ronald. This quote describes selfishness because it is the contrary
of generosity and solidarity, and the excess of love to oneself and the lack of group values. Knowing
the world, is essential for a person s life. Many times, we do not understand how a society works, how
people work, how our life goes, how the present goes, etc. As a result of all of them, we can
experience certain anguish that appears when it wants but with relatively frequency, such as: Why do I
do what I do? Am I happy? Who I am? For all of these I have proposed to write this philosophical
paper about what I believe the causes are and what might help to accommodate the selfishness we are
facing now in New York City. Survival, cultural and parental influence, and manners are the causes
why people in this city are selfish. It would be difficult to change our society with this paper, but I
believe that this reflection is the best method to redirect a life from all areas and ages.
People are just not born being selfish, they become selfish by a factor. One of the factors can be when
people become selfish when they have to act fast in a life or death situation in order to survive.
Suppose we change the Kohlberg s example about Heinz, there is only one pill in the world that has
the potential to save your friend and yourself s life. Who do you think deserves the pill? According to
Aristotle, friendship is one of the virtues necessary for living well, and an essential aspect of a life of
happiness and morality, the friendship of good men is good, being augmented by their companionship;
and they are thought to become better by their activities and by improving each other (1172a). A good
man is interested in doing good to others and when it is about a friend could forget about himself. I
agree that Aristotle s theory about friendship could make satisfy the humanity s necessities, if all men
were virtuosos. Doing good is beneficial for both, the one who practices and who receives it. People
become selfish when they have to face the live or death situation because people have an instinct to

Using A Systems Theory Model
Open Systems A system interdependent on groups of people or items working together to complete a
specific goal is known as an open system (Cordan, 2013). Healthcare organizations are usually
designed around systems that interact with outside environments, indicating that they are open
systems (Cordan, 2013). The purpose of this paper is to use a systems theory model to examine a
workflow problem within an open system unit, in one organization, and design a solution to the
workflow issue.
Systems Theory Description
Cardiac and Vascular holding unit is an eight bed unit open system unit in that this unit regularly
exchanges feedback with the outside environment. The unit staff is responsible for providing care to
patients receiving invasive patient both inpatients and outpatients vascular or cardiac procedures.
Myers and O Brien Pallas, 2010, contend that an open system, Nursing Services Delivery Theory
(NSDT), certain concepts: input, output, throughput combine to influence work demands achieve
goals and complete daily workflow task
Input
In the CAV input is derived from: patients, staff, materials outside data sources, and funding. Input is
essentially the flow of energy exchange from outside sources that renews or sustains the system
(Meyer, O Brien Pallas, 2010). For this particular unit input can also be impacted by the particular
insurance standard indicting the medical necessity of certain procedures. When energies are
transformed within the system it then indicates

It is not our goal to trade members neither with other churches nor to increase our membership by
reaching disgruntled members of other churches. Our vision is to reach young people who may not
have a church background, teach and train them, equip them, and qualify them to go out and win
souls. We believe that by doing this, we will build a strong army who can take our community, state,
and the world for Christ. We want to reach young people ages 10 18 in our community. According to
Warren, If you want to build a healthy, strong, and growing church you must spend time laying a solid
foundation.
Values
Our values are Righteous living, as exemplified by a lifestyle congruent with biblical and moral
guidelines, spiritual enrichment, as exemplified through our School of Ministry, fortifying the family,
as exemplified by marriage, single, and youth ministries, economic support, as exemplified by our
contributions through tithe, offerings, and time, and alliance of believers, as exemplified through
prayer, worship, and servitude.
Within these values, there is the element of youth ministries. Several key verses are the basis of this
plan. Ecclesiastes 12:1 says that children that are

The Weaknesses Of The Greenhouse Gas Theory
The Weaknesses of the Greenhouse Gas Theory
Greenhouses are used to grow crops such as tomatoes and lettuce under controlled conditions.
Greenhouses consist of a framed building with transparent covering. Sunlight penetrates through the
transparent covering to get to the plants inside. The plants and the soil absorb the sunlight and radiate
some of the absorbed energy as heat.
Quite often, greenhouses ventilate either through controlled openings or by fanning air around. The
ventilation is necessary to avoid the build up of water vapor and to ensure that too much heat doesn t
too negatively affect the plants. The key elements of the greenhouse are the outer shell that traps the
air inside, the trapped air, and controlled ventilation.
A blanket on a bed works rather like the outer shell of the greenhouse. ... Show more content on

There are several weaknesses in the arguments supporting the greenhouse gas theory. These are
explained in the following sections.
Carbon dioxide is heavier than air. Carbon dioxide, deemed as the key offender in the greenhouse
theory, is heavier than air. This means that its highest concentrations are close to the ground in low
lying areas. Without the benefit of experiments to the prove the point, it can still be postulated that the
highest concentrations of carbon dioxide are within 1000 meters (3,500 feet) above sea level, and
concentrations will diminish as air climbs higher into the atmosphere. Incidentally, this is not unusual.
Oxygen is known to diminish with elevation as well.
Since carbon dioxide is most prevalent when close to ground level, it is unlikely that it would absorb
significant levels of outgoing, long wavelength radiation (heat) and hold enough of it to influence

Marcel Mauss s Indian Gift
Gift giving, particularly during the holidays, is regular facet of our daily lives. Whether or not all gifts
carry the obligation of reciprocity is characterized by the gift s cultural context. The Gift: The Form
and the Reason for Exchange in Archaic Societies, (1925) Marcel Mauss ethnographic book, presents
the necessity of reciprocation through analysing the gift giving practices of the Maori and the
Kwakiutl. Jonathan Parry revisits Mauss theory in his essay, The Gift, the Indian Gift and the Indian
Gift , (1986) addressing its connection as well as contradiction to the Hindu law of gift giving.
Ultimately, Mauss and Parry propose differing perspectives on the obligation to reciprocate when
given a gift. Their opposing conclusions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The obligation to reciprocate is based on the belief that the recipient receives and possesses something
that belongs to the donor (Mauss 1925: 17). In reciprocating a gift, Mauss explains that the receiver
balances and restores the hau of the first gift to its origin (Mauss 1925: 15 17). Moreover, the potlatch,
the North American Indian practice of exchanging gifts competitively, is characterized by themes of
rivalry and destruction, requiring one to reciprocate or risk losing authority (Mauss 1925: 11 12). In
Northeast Siberia and among the Eskimos of West Alaska, the exchange of gifts is imbued with
additional spiritual significance (Mauss 1925: 18 19). In destroying by sacrifice, as in the potlach, the
people are fulfilling their obligations to the gods, to whom they owe their use of the land (Mauss
1925: 20 21). Marcel Mauss asserts this exchange of gifts between the humans and the gods is a
necessary element of buying peace between them (Mauss 1925: 21). Mauss argues that reciprocation
is a mandatory element of gift giving because of the social contract that is formed by the first gift,
which contains in it the donor s spirit (Mauss 1925: 14 21). We can see Mauss theory at work today in
western society when we obligated to bring back gifts from a holiday for a friend who has already
done the same for us. This pressure is the result of the need to restore the balance in the social contract
that Mauss

Statement of Purpose: The purpose of this analysis is to determine if Reynolds Metals ( Reynolds )
should accept Nestlé s offer of $61 million for its holdings of Eskimo Pie. The crux of the issue is
whether or not the projected income from a proposed Initial Public Offering ( IPO ) by Wheat First
Securities ( Wheat First ) is reasonable and will actually result in proceeds between $61 and $68
million to Reynolds, the Reynolds family and the Reynolds foundation, as projected. To get at this
question, this paper will seek to value Eskimo Pie as a stand alone company, if the IPO option is
selected.
Discount Rate: The first task is to estimate the discount rate, or the rate that investors will require on
this type of investment. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As previously mentioned, net sales will be estimated beginning with the $61 million in net sales
projected for 1991, then relying on Goldman Sach s projected growth rate for 1992 and 1993, and
using a 5% growth rate from that point forward. Net income is estimated for 1992 and 1993 using
Goldman Sach s estimate of the margin.
Free cash flow is then estimated from the net income by subtracting capital expenditures, which are
estimated to be less than $1 million for 1992. Additionally, there are several additional expenses for
1991 that I believe are ignored by Goldman Sach s estimate. The first is the potential clean up costs
from the spill in the New Jersey plant, estimated at $300,000. However, weighing other possible
outcomes, I estimate the cost to be $374,000, occurring by the end of 1991.
Further, even in the pre Sarbanes Oxley era, the cost of an IPO, and the subsequent filing documents
required by the SEC, is significant. I estimate the cost of the IPO to be $1 million in 1992, and
$500,000 each year after for the filing requirements (or the cost of being public). These amounts are
subtracted from the free cash flows in the appropriate years.
Thus, I estimate the value of Eskimo Pie, as a stand alone company, to be $31,770,219. This is
significantly lower than the $61,412,000 or $68,044,000 that Wheat First predicts the IPO will
generate.

The Signalman by Charles Dickens and The Darkness Out...
The Signalman by Charles Dickens and The Darkness Out There by Penelope Lively Comparing The
Signalman by Charles Dickens and The Darkness Out There by Penelope Lively is an ideal way of
looking at two authors from different times and backgrounds. Dickens, writing in the nineteenth
century, would have had a very different audience to write for from Lively, writing in the twentieth
century. Therefore, each author uses different techniques to create tension in the two pieces. During
the nineteenth century there was a strong belief in ghosts and the spiritual world; telling ghost stories
around the fireplace is often seen as a typical form of Victorian entertainment. Dickens draws on this
tradition to create a short ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unlike The Signalman, this setting is not a main focus of the story, instead it just lurks in the
background until the climax of the story. This is symbolical of the way the unknown is explored in
Mrs Rutter s life as well. Before the climax of the story events are just hinted at but they are just
rumours, the real story is unknown. The contrast in this approach is shown in the language used. For
example, in The Darkness Out There, Lively writes: And, somewhere, presumably, the crumbling
rusty scraps of metal and cloth and ... bones? The ellipses and the question mark highlight the
uncertainty that is present throughout this story and show the implicit nature of The Darkness Out
There. In contrast, Dickens use of language shows the explicit nature of The Signalman. When he
mentions the figure, he speaks of it directly as the spectre, and the ghost, thus showing how openly the
unknown is explored. In The Darkness Out There, Lively uses the characters ages to explore the
unknown. Sandra and Kerry are adolescents on the brink of being plunged into the adult world of
work. Sandra is shown to be full of dreams such as: One day she would have a place in the country,
but not like this. However, she does not know for sure what will happen to her. Kerry is shown to be
more certain about what he is going to do but the

Myiasis from Larvae and Pubic Lice
Myiasis (from the Greek myi , fly) is defined as the invasion of living tissue by dipterous larvae.
Several fly species such as Oestrus ovis have been reported to cause myiasis, affecting humans either
directly, when the female fly deposits the larvae on the conjunctiva or eyelids of a human host rather
than a sheep or a goat, or indirectly, through dirty hands. Ocular myiasis presentations include external
ophthalmomyiasis, when the larvae is found in the external ocular tissues, leading to ocular surface
disorders (conjunctivitis, punctuate keratitis) or pseudoorbital cellulitis, and internal
ophthalmomyiasis, a rare condition with a clinical course ranging from asymptomatic to severe
uveitis, retinal detachment and optic atrophy. Several methods of treatment have been reported
depending on the location of the larva. Management of external myiasis includes the mechanical
removal of the larvae in association with topical administration of steroids to reduce conjunctival
inflammation.(1) This may be a challenging maneuver, as the larva tends to firmly attach to the ocular
surface. Some authors recommend the use of topical anesthetic to loosen the larval attachment.(2)
Double eversion of the eyelids is mandatory to ensure that larvae have been completely removed.
Early removal decreases the potential of vision loss and larvae dissemination. For subretinal larvae,
argon laser photocoagulation has been used with successful results. Vitrectomy and retinotomy is
recommended if

What Are The Similarities Between The Julius Caesar And...
The last century of the Roman Republic holds two of greatest political alliances in history, the First
Triumvirate, created in 60 BC, and the Second Triumvirate, created in 43 BC. While the circumstances
and actions of these two unions are very different, they tend to have vey similar trends. Three men
come together to increase their political power, take control of the Republic, and fight against a
particular group that opposes them. First, we shall look at the creations of these two alliances, as they
seem to have distinct similarities. The characters that fill these two coalitions, a brilliant politician, a
military commander, and a successful senator, share similar qualities in themselves. Finally, they both
end in a similar fashion, as the two more successful men fight for control of the Roman State. In 60
BC Gaius Julius Caesar returned to Rome from his governorship of Hispania Ulterior. There he has
successfully campaigned against local tribes and given a triumph. Roman law stated that generals
given a triumph had to stay outside the city until the triumph commenced, but Caesar also wanted to
run for the consulship of 59 BC, which he had to be in the city to declare. The Senate, led by Cato,
denied his request to run in absentia, so Caesar gave up his triumph to become a candidate. Caesar had
a lot of opposition against him in the senate, especially from the optimates. The greatest Roman
general in 60 BC is Gneaus Pompeius, a man given the title Magnus (The Great)

Patriarchy In The Canterbury Tales
Chaucer has mastered the techniques required to skilfully put his points across and subtle irony and
satire is particularly effective in making a point, (Sheppard). As written by this college professor,
Chaucer is very effective in using comedy, and satire, to casually attack sacred ideals of his time.
Chaucer carefully uses his characters to battle common ideals, such as his use of the Wife of Bath to
pick on patriarchy. In his Canterbury Tales, Chaucer begins with a general prologue where all
characters are introduced, including a few who don t quite fit the mold of holy . In the Pardoner s Tale,
Chaucer speaks through him and brings the hypocrisy of the church into the light. Chaucer uses his
writing of Canterbury Tales to attack two major idea s of his time, including the idea of men being
superior to women and the purity of the church. In Chaucer s day society was built on patriarchy, but
Chaucer uses Canterbury Tales to voice his radical ideals. A few of these radical ideas come to the
surface in the Wife of Bath s prologue. When the woman stands before the group and speaks about
herself, she reveals a side of Chaucer that is a threat to society. As the Wife speaks she tells the
pilgrims how she believes that women run the world, and how men are the inferior sex. The Wife tells
her audience in her prologue, And when I d mastered him, and out of deadlock secured myself the
sovereignty in wedlock, (p.129 lines 517 518). This line tells her listeners that she mastered her
husband and gained control of the household. The idea of a woman having control of anything in that
time was extremely radical. Bon Jovi once said, Women rule the world. It s not really worth fighting
because they know what they re doing. Ask Napoleon. Ask Adam. Ask Richard Burton or Richie
Sambora. Many a man has crumbled, (Article by Fern). Once a man is willing to admit to what the
Wife is saying, there is little room to argue. Of course the common people were able to swallow this
pill with Chaucer s unlimited satire and humor. Chaucer says plainly, don t be offended at my views;
they re really only offered to amuse , (p. 123, line 85). Later on, in the Wife of Bath s Tale, she

Essay on Canadian Firearms Program

Case Title: Canadian Firearms Program
Introduction
Gun violence is serious social problem and Canada has a long history of firearms control. However,
increasing costs to the Canadian Firearms Program (CFP) has made it a lightning rod for criticism
from both pro and anti gun advocates. Reports out of the media and Auditor General Sheila Fraser
paint a picture of inefficiency, incompetence and mismanagement.
This paper looks at the main issues faced by decision makers, analyses them, presents alternatives and
makes recommendations based on the analysis.

The first and most important issue to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Analysis (10 marks)
In dealing with the first issue, there are two distinct schools of thought. One led by gun advocates
stating the irrelevance of gun control in reducing crimes while the other claiming its importance.
The main argument against is the notion that no would be criminal would ever comply with it thereby
diminishing, if not eliminating its effectiveness. Opponents also point to the steadily declining gun
related deaths as evidence against any control. Proponents on the other hand point out that this
reduction is due to fewer suicides rather than homicides. Opponents also argue that controlling gun
access will only create a thriving black market for firearms.
Proponents of the program state that the registry system is an invaluable tool for law enforcement

abiding citizens to own guns.
Judging by the figures presented (exhibit 2) in the case, the sheer volume of queries appear to indicate
that the registry indeed is an essential tool for police. In fact, law enforcement officers who are a key
stakeholder in this program are in favor of it. The argument of a thriving black market can be
reasonable disregarded, as there is no data to support it.
Now, even if there is a necessity for a registry program, it still has to be efficient.

Gregor Johann Mendel was a scientist and botanist born on July 22, 1822. At birth he was given the
name Johann Mendel. He grew up on a family owned farm in Heinzendorf, Austria. In early years,
young Mendel showed signs of being very intelligent. One of his teachers recommended he be sent to
another school to further his learning. His parents, not having much money, decided to send him.
Despite some struggles throughout school, Mendel knew he had to make his parents proud and
graduated with honors. He then attended the University of Olmütz where he found his love for Physics

No one really understood the genetic principles of these plants and animals so the experiments were
sometimes dangerous and costly. In the 1890 s better microscopes were introduced into the scientific
world and allowed scientist to further their study and knowledge in cell division. This was a key
component in the study of genetics. Mendel is commonly known at the father of modern genetics .
While being a teacher Mendel had time to have experiments of his own. Most of his time was spent on
the testing of pea plants. He tried to use regular garden pea plants because they were easily accessible,
grown in large numbers in the monastery gardens, and they were extremely easy to reproduce while
not having to wait a long period of time before receiving results. Common pea plants have both male
and female reproductive organs which gives them the ability to either self pollinate or cross pollinate.
The experiments were to study their genetic makeup and test them over generations and generations of
other pea plants. He would study a parent plants and when their offspring appeared he noticed that
only certain characteristics would show up in their offspring. For instance, the pea flowers are either
purple or white intermediate colors do not appear in the offspring of cross pollinated pea plants.
Mendel observed seven traits that are easily recognized and apparently only occur in one of two
forms. 1. Flower color is purple or white. 2. Flower position is axil or

Summary Of The Mcdonaldization Of Society
As to perfectly punctuate the paper The McDonaldization of Society by George Ritzer, I got tired of
reading it and made my computer read it to me while I listened, which although efficient added an
emphasis on all the topics Ritzer discussed in his writing. McDonaldization is the sociological term
used to describe the wide spread affects of fast food restaurants on society, whose affects can be seen
in almost all aspects of todays society. The first aspect of McDonaldization as highlighted in the
article is the assembly line structure, as used by fast food restaurants; it provides an efficient way for
food to be prepared, served, eaten and disposed of as fast as possible. It utilizes multiple employs at

William Shakespeare Research Paper
William Shakespeare was a renowned playwright and sonneteer, who s writing displayed vast
knowledge, wisdom, and creativity. Shakespeare wrote a grand total of 37 plays and 154 sonnets, the
number alone bringing into question whether or not the Stratford upon Avon man could have truly
created these works. There are vast volumes of theories regarding the true authorship of Shakespeare s
many works. However, most of these theories are circumstantial and fail to prove that anyone other

However, there are many issues regarding this theory. Sir Francis Bacon s life is more fully
documented and detailed than William Shakespeare, including his deep involvement in politics and
successful positions as both an attorney general and lord chancellor under King James ( Francis Bacon

Furthermore, the claim that Bacon authored Shakespeare s poetry suffers from the fact that Bacon s

Howard Gardner s Multiple Intelligence Theory Paper
Gardner s Multiple Intelligences Theory in the Classroom In this paper, I will first describe Howard
Gardner s Multiple Intelligences Theory (MI) in detail, then I will explain my reasoning as to why I

suitable methods and strategies for incorporating MI theory into everyday classroom use. The
pedagogical approaches listed will contain several procedures that are specific to my future high

The ninth (and most recently discovered by Gardner) intelligence is Existential intelligence: the ability
to construct and analyze questions about human existence, such as the meaning of life (McFarlane,
2011). Because the ninth intelligence is new, there has not been much evidential research on it
(Ormrod, 2014, p.121) and therefore, I will not mention it in my examples of ways to incorporate
Gardner s Multiple Intelligences into the classroom. Gardner proposes that because these eight types
of intelligences are biologically based, they are malleable and therefore capable of evolving (Aborn,
2006). Aborn points out that Gardner s theory is drastically different from many previous widely
accepted intelligence philosophies, such as the Stanford Binet IQ Test, which is based on...one type of
[genetic] intelligence...and [remains] fixed throughout life (2006, p. 83). Furthermore, it must be noted
that the Multiple Intelligences theory suggests that each individual person is born with capabilities in
all eight intelligences. According to Thomas Armstrong, in his book, Multiple Intelligences in the
Classroom, 3rd Edition (2009): Some people appear to possess extremely high levels of functioning in
all or most of the eight intelligences... Other people, such as...severely

The Flea By John Donne Essay
Poems are very interesting pieces of literature, and can sometimes be hard to understand. To be able to
understand poems, it is important to look at the physical parts, the intellectual parts, and how they
shape the poem. The author John Donne has written many poems that could be interpreted in many
ways, and are analyzed by many people in the United States and around the world. John Donne s The
Flea is a good example of a poem that can be analyzed for its physical and intellectual parts, and how
they work together to make the poem what it is because it is descriptive, and can be interpreted in
many ways. First, it is important to look at the physical parts of a poem. Donne s The Flea is
comprised of three stanzas, and twenty seven lines total. The poem talks about a lover and a beloved,
and how the love that the lover feels is requited by the beloved. This poem differs from sonnets in the
way that the love in a sonnet is unrequited, but the love in this poem is requited, as was talked about in
class. In the first stanza, there are nine lines, and each line rhymes with the line after it. For example,
line three rhymes with line four at the end with the words thee and be. This continues for the rest of
the stanza the last three lines of the stanza in which all three rhyme with the words woo, two, and do.
This rhyme scheme is also shown throughout the rest of the poem. In each stanza, the last three line
are indented to show that they are a little more

The Gestalt Principles Of Visual Perception
The perceptual process enables us to perceive the world through our senses of sight, smell, sound,
taste, and touch. In particular, our visual system processes vast amounts of information in its
environment. Rather than perceiving elements separately, our brain organizes patterns, objects, and
shapes into whole forms that we can understand. The gestalt grouping principles of visual perception
describe this organization as a set of principles that explain how we perceive and organize visual
stimuli.
The gestalt principles similarity, proximity, closure, figure ground, continuance, and common fate
were introduced by gestalt psychologist Max Werthimer in his seminal paper Laws of Organization in
Perceptual Forms and are a popular tool used by designers for visually organizing information. In this
series of articles, we will learn how these principles can be used to improve the usability of designs.
Proper use can affect efficiency, learnability, and memorability, and also reduce errors, contributing to
the overall satisfaction of a website.
The gestalt principles are foundational and hidden behind the structure of a design, making it difficult
to understand the concepts visually. Therefore, I first introduce them as simple line and shape
examples, to build a foundation for understanding, and then present real world examples to illustrate
the principles in use. Through deconstruction of real world examples, I hope to show how the gestalt
principles form relationships between

The following offers an analysis of both sides of this subject as well as an analysis of how this issue
affects Brazilian society. Cannabis legalization is a subject of strong debate in the United States.
Marijuana use for medical, industrial, and recreational purposes has existed for thousands of years in
many countries worldwide and is documented as far back as 2700 BC (Time Magazine, April 2009;
Why Legalizing Marijuana Makes Sense). Marijuana should be legalized for several reasons. The
government could save money and earn additional revenue from taxes on its sale. Tobacco sales
generate strong sources of Federal revenue because of taxation. As a popular and well marketed
product, the sales taxes would amass a savings that could be allotted toward promoting infrastructures,
public education and other public utilities for the general welfare of citizens. As a cash crop, like corn,
wheat, or alfalfa, marijuana futures could also be bought and traded by investors. Tobacco futures
have been a consistently strong way of bolstering and diversifying a discriminating investor s
portfolio. The increase in futures investment would help American farmers build much needed
revenues that would allow agrarian operations to expand and become more sophisticated. In the
United States,

Picture Of The Indian Culture And Society
Picture of the Indian Culture and Society : Malgudi Days R.K Narayan Chapter 1 Malgudi Days is a
gathering of short stories composed by R.K.Narayan and likely the most renowned title connected
with R.K.Narayan with the special case of Swami and Friends. So what is so unique about
R.K.Narayan s exposition that earned him so much honors? That is only the catch. There is nothing
unique and that is the place the claim to fame lies. The composition is disarmingly basic, the dialect is
not adapted or even colloquial(slang). It is basically English, yet the complete self, the accent and
society is unashamedly Indian. Furthermore, that is the thing that made Narayan acclaimed. That
unmistakable Indian touch in a period when it was stylish for Indian creators to gorilla the West.
Instead of calling them short stories, it would be ideal to call them a gathering of accounts or even

a percentage of the stories are humorous, some gently fabulous, some sad, some comic, however a
large portion of them mirroring the cross area of social life in India in Narayan s period. This is

one of the pieces together. As it were you may say that these stories have no starting or end. They re

rocks, gravel, tools, and an endless number of other things could prove to be a serious danger to
someone rolling around on the ground during a fight.
More situational awareness:
A stand up focused approach to fighting allows one to keep good situational awareness. Being aware
of one s surroundings is always important, in any given situation in life, but that is especially true
during a self defense event. For example, it is far easier to quickly notice a drawn weapon while
standing up on your feet.
If you go to the ground, it may provide an easy opportunity for others to join the fight...on the other
side. For instance, you may be on the ground and even in full guard, but that will leave your back and
the back of your head exposed as an easy target. One can always be attacked by multiple opponents
(regardless of posture), but one will usually fare better in such an occasion while standing running is
often the best option here anyway.
More distance when needed:
With proper training, one can keep the fight at a longer range with powerful kicks, and an unskilled
opponent may not know how to respond to skilled kicks.

The Impact of Globalisation on the Australian Economy
The Impact of Globalisation on the Australian Economy Globalisation is not new. Australia has been
involved in trade, investment, financial flows, technology transfers and the migration of labour since
its foundation as a colony. What has changed is the size, direction and influence of these transfers,
especially since 1980. There are a number of factors that have aided this transformation. They include:
• The expansion of new markets – foreign exchange and capital markets are linked globally. They
operate 24 hours a day with dealings any where in the world possible in real time. Financial
deregulation and the floating of the Australian dollar since 1983 intensified the impact of globalisation
on the Australian economy. • New ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Table 1: The Effects of Cutting Protection in Manufacturing in Australia Source: Productivity
Commission The impact of globalisation has also changed the structure of Australia s trade. There has
been considerable growth in manufacturing and service industries with limited growth in the rural
sector (Table 2). This reflects a combination of changes in world demand and domestic structural
reforms. Table 2: Annual Growth in Exports, by Sector, 1985 86 to 1995 96. Source: Australian
Bureau of Statistics, 5368.0 Globalisation and Financial Markets The spread of globalisation
especially since 1990 has introduced many new elements into the financial markets and what
determines the value of a nation s exchange rate. This does not just apply to Australia, but as we saw
in the later half of the 1990 s, to many other nations in the world. Firstly, trade in goods and services
makes up a much smaller proportion of the demand and supply for currency. In the world economy,
payments for international trade only account for about 1% of foreign exchange transactions. The total
foreign exchange requirements for exporting and importing of goods and services in Australia is less
than 3% of the total use of the foreign exchange turnover in Australian dollars (Reserve Bank Bulletin,
Table F7 and Australian National Accounts, 5206.0). The main purpose for foreign exchange trading is
international financial transfers of

Final Fantasy 14 Research Paper
While playing Final Fantasy 14, it can sometimes be easy to get caught up in the grind of the game,
but we implore you to just take a breather and enjoy the scenery. You have one of the most beautifully
created masterpieces in gaming history. The environment design is incredible, and it is a shame when
games bulldoze through it without a second thought. For the first month, you will not need your FF 14
time card because it starts out as free to play.
What Class to Choose?
Sometimes players will worry about finding the best class, but an MMO is the type of game where
you do not have to be stuck with a certain gaming style. If you do not like a certain class, a Realm
Reborn has a multi class system that lets you change as you need. After you have hit level 10, you will
have the option of talking with the guild leader NPC to decide on whether you want to start with a
new class. In Final Fantasy 14, you have the option to stack your ... Show more content on

With each of the aetherytes, you can attune yourself to them, and that will link you up with the
location so that you can cast a teleport spell. That means that you will not have to spend as much time
traveling from one location to the next. It saves you a lot of time.
In the major cities, you have a smaller version of the aetheryte. These stones let you tap into a swifter
travel system. If you are trying to find a well hidden guild, these travel stones serve as a lifesaver for
finding hidden guilds.

John Christopher Dep Essay
As we have discussed in class, star persona is when an actor or actress have been categorized into
specific roles because of previous similar characters they chose to perform as in multiple movies,
skits, and or television series. Obviously, as a new comer into the Hollywood acting business coming
from Kentucky with his wife, John Christopher Depp had the power to become anyone he wanted to
be, and even now he has the power to try to be the person he might not want to be, but need to be for
the better sake of his career. Starting off his career with such a strong force really allowed Depp to be
launched further into the television and film industry. As stated in IMDb, Depp starred in a low budget
horror film, The Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), roughly around $1,800,000. And in 1987, Depp
went onto the hit television show 21 Jump Street to replace Jeff Yagher. Depp at first, you could argue,
started off well with a mixture of genres in various movies and television series but after the 21 Jump
Street series had ended, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was a dramatic break out in his earlier films such as The Astronaut s Wife, Pirates of the Caribbean:
The Curse of the Black Pearl, Secret Window, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and many others;
these characters gripped the audience, the critics. Yet after watching several of Depp s movies, people
noticed he always had this dark aura towards him, and if not, he was too immature and uncontrollable.
Depp says in an article by Elizabeth Wagele called Johnny Depp, Enneagram Romantic Type, If the
choice is to be gawked at constantly or to sit in a dark room, I d choose the dark room. I felt as if I had
been turned into a novelty, and it was mortifying. When I was in a social situation, I was nervous and

  • 4. Peter Stockman And A Villain What is the difference between the hero in a story and the villain? The hero is supposed to do the good and the villain is supposed to be against it. When it comes down to saving the day or ruining it, there always has to be a strategic plan that tackles all the odds. If there isn t a realistic plan to accomplish a goal then there might be risks and consequences in the process of trying to achieve the objective. Although Peter Stockmann is not as charismatic a leader as his younger brother Tom, Ibsen seems to support the mayor s view of how organization and political systems must work to control the population and prevent chaos. Dr. Stockmann affirmed, Of course I warned them. When they started the damn thing I told them not to build it down there! But who am I, a mere scientist, to tell politicians where to build a health institute! Well, now they re going to get it, both barrels! Dr. Stockmann couldn t wait to tell the people, so they could see how successful of a scientist he was. He basically felt like rubbing his discovery on all the politicians faces for not listening to him. He was blinded by all the praises he thought he was going to get and thought everything would be so easy to do. Mr. Kiil claimed You admit there s some doubt in your mind about the water, you admit there may be ways to disinfect it, and yet you went after your brother as though these doubts didn t exist (Act III). • 9. Reflection Paper On Selfishness ME ME ME How does this help me? Wait what do I get out of this Of course I deserve it I want it I need it Just give it to me, said Erin Ronald. This quote describes selfishness because it is the contrary of generosity and solidarity, and the excess of love to oneself and the lack of group values. Knowing the world, is essential for a person s life. Many times, we do not understand how a society works, how people work, how our life goes, how the present goes, etc. As a result of all of them, we can experience certain anguish that appears when it wants but with relatively frequency, such as: Why do I do what I do? Am I happy? Who I am? For all of these I have proposed to write this philosophical paper about what I believe the causes are and what might help to accommodate the selfishness we are facing now in New York City. Survival, cultural and parental influence, and manners are the causes why people in this city are selfish. It would be difficult to change our society with this paper, but I believe that this reflection is the best method to redirect a life from all areas and ages. People are just not born being selfish, they become selfish by a factor. One of the factors can be when people become selfish when they have to act fast in a life or death situation in order to survive. Suppose we change the Kohlberg s example about Heinz, there is only one pill in the world that has the potential to save your friend and yourself s life. Who do you think deserves the pill? According to Aristotle, friendship is one of the virtues necessary for living well, and an essential aspect of a life of happiness and morality, the friendship of good men is good, being augmented by their companionship; and they are thought to become better by their activities and by improving each other (1172a). A good man is interested in doing good to others and when it is about a friend could forget about himself. I agree that Aristotle s theory about friendship could make satisfy the humanity s necessities, if all men were virtuosos. Doing good is beneficial for both, the one who practices and who receives it. People become selfish when they have to face the live or death situation because people have an instinct to ... Healthcare organizations are usually designed around systems that interact with outside environments, indicating that they are open systems (Cordan, 2013). The purpose of this paper is to use a systems theory model to examine a workflow problem within an open system unit, in one organization, and design a solution to the workflow issue. Systems Theory Description Cardiac and Vascular holding unit is an eight bed unit open system unit in that this unit regularly exchanges feedback with the outside environment. The unit staff is responsible for providing care to patients receiving invasive patient both inpatients and outpatients vascular or cardiac procedures. Input is essentially the flow of energy exchange from outside sources that renews or sustains the system (Meyer, O Brien Pallas, 2010). • 13. The Weaknesses Of The Greenhouse Gas Theory The Weaknesses of the Greenhouse Gas Theory Greenhouses are used to grow crops such as tomatoes and lettuce under controlled conditions. Greenhouses consist of a framed building with transparent covering. Sunlight penetrates through the transparent covering to get to the plants inside. The plants and the soil absorb the sunlight and radiate some of the absorbed energy as heat. Quite often, greenhouses ventilate either through controlled openings or by fanning air around. The ventilation is necessary to avoid the build up of water vapor and to ensure that too much heat doesn t too negatively affect the plants. The key elements of the greenhouse are the outer shell that traps the air inside, the trapped air, and controlled ventilation. There are several weaknesses in the arguments supporting the greenhouse gas theory. These are explained in the following sections. Carbon dioxide is heavier than air. Carbon dioxide, deemed as the key offender in the greenhouse theory, is heavier than air. This means that its highest concentrations are close to the ground in low lying areas. Without the benefit of experiments to the prove the point, it can still be postulated that the highest concentrations of carbon dioxide are within 1000 meters (3,500 feet) above sea level, and concentrations will diminish as air climbs higher into the atmosphere. Incidentally, this is not unusual. Oxygen is known to diminish with elevation as well. Since carbon dioxide is most prevalent when close to ground level, it is unlikely that it would absorb significant levels of outgoing, long wavelength radiation (heat) and hold enough of it to influence global ... • 14. Marcel Mauss s Indian Gift Gift giving, particularly during the holidays, is regular facet of our daily lives. Whether or not all gifts carry the obligation of reciprocity is characterized by the gift s cultural context. The Gift: The Form and the Reason for Exchange in Archaic Societies, (1925) Marcel Mauss ethnographic book, presents the necessity of reciprocation through analysing the gift giving practices of the Maori and the Kwakiutl. Jonathan Parry revisits Mauss theory in his essay, The Gift, the Indian Gift and the Indian Gift , (1986) addressing its connection as well as contradiction to the Hindu law of gift giving. Ultimately, Mauss and Parry propose differing perspectives on the obligation to reciprocate when given a gift. Their opposing conclusions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The obligation to reciprocate is based on the belief that the recipient receives and possesses something that belongs to the donor (Mauss 1925: 17). In reciprocating a gift, Mauss explains that the receiver balances and restores the hau of the first gift to its origin (Mauss 1925: 15 17). Moreover, the potlatch, the North American Indian practice of exchanging gifts competitively, is characterized by themes of rivalry and destruction, requiring one to reciprocate or risk losing authority (Mauss 1925: 11 12). In Northeast Siberia and among the Eskimos of West Alaska, the exchange of gifts is imbued with additional spiritual significance (Mauss 1925: 18 19). In destroying by sacrifice, as in the potlach, the people are fulfilling their obligations to the gods, to whom they owe their use of the land (Mauss 1925: 20 21). Marcel Mauss asserts this exchange of gifts between the humans and the gods is a necessary element of buying peace between them (Mauss 1925: 21). Mauss argues that reciprocation is a mandatory element of gift giving because of the social contract that is formed by the first gift, which contains in it the donor s spirit (Mauss 1925: 14 21). We can see Mauss theory at work today in western society when we obligated to bring back gifts from a holiday for a friend who has already done the same for us. This pressure is the result of the need to restore the balance in the social contract that Mauss ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As previously mentioned, net sales will be estimated beginning with the $61 million in net sales projected for 1991, then relying on Goldman Sach s projected growth rate for 1992 and 1993, and using a 5% growth rate from that point forward. Net income is estimated for 1992 and 1993 using Goldman Sach s estimate of the margin. Free cash flow is then estimated from the net income by subtracting capital expenditures, which are estimated to be less than $1 million for 1992. Additionally, there are several additional expenses for 1991 that I believe are ignored by Goldman Sach s estimate. The first is the potential clean up costs from the spill in the New Jersey plant, estimated at $300,000. However, weighing other possible outcomes, I estimate the cost to be $374,000, occurring by the end of 1991. Further, even in the pre Sarbanes Oxley era, the cost of an IPO, and the subsequent filing documents required by the SEC, is significant. I estimate the cost of the IPO to be $1 million in 1992, and $500,000 each year after for the filing requirements (or the cost of being public). These amounts are subtracted from the free cash flows in the appropriate years. Thus, I estimate the value of Eskimo Pie, as a stand alone company, to be $31,770,219. This is significantly lower than the $61,412,000 or $68,044,000 that Wheat First predicts the IPO will generate. Further Analysis: This of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Signalman by Charles Dickens and The Darkness Out There by Penelope Lively Comparing The Signalman by Charles Dickens and The Darkness Out There by Penelope Lively is an ideal way of looking at two authors from different times and backgrounds. Dickens, writing in the nineteenth century, would have had a very different audience to write for from Lively, writing in the twentieth century. Therefore, each author uses different techniques to create tension in the two pieces. During the nineteenth century there was a strong belief in ghosts and the spiritual world; telling ghost stories around the fireplace is often seen as a typical form of Victorian entertainment. Dickens draws on this tradition to create a short ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unlike The Signalman, this setting is not a main focus of the story, instead it just lurks in the background until the climax of the story. This is symbolical of the way the unknown is explored in Mrs Rutter s life as well. Before the climax of the story events are just hinted at but they are just rumours, the real story is unknown. The contrast in this approach is shown in the language used. For example, in The Darkness Out There, Lively writes: And, somewhere, presumably, the crumbling rusty scraps of metal and cloth and ... bones? The ellipses and the question mark highlight the uncertainty that is present throughout this story and show the implicit nature of The Darkness Out There. In contrast, Dickens use of language shows the explicit nature of The Signalman. When he mentions the figure, he speaks of it directly as the spectre, and the ghost, thus showing how openly the unknown is explored. In The Darkness Out There, Lively uses the characters ages to explore the unknown. Sandra and Kerry are adolescents on the brink of being plunged into the adult world of work. • 17. Myiasis from Larvae and Pubic Lice Myiasis (from the Greek myi , fly) is defined as the invasion of living tissue by dipterous larvae. Several fly species such as Oestrus ovis have been reported to cause myiasis, affecting humans either directly, when the female fly deposits the larvae on the conjunctiva or eyelids of a human host rather than a sheep or a goat, or indirectly, through dirty hands. Ocular myiasis presentations include external ophthalmomyiasis, when the larvae is found in the external ocular tissues, leading to ocular surface disorders (conjunctivitis, punctuate keratitis) or pseudoorbital cellulitis, and internal ophthalmomyiasis, a rare condition with a clinical course ranging from asymptomatic to severe uveitis, retinal detachment and optic atrophy. Several methods of treatment have been reported depending on the location of the larva. Management of external myiasis includes the mechanical removal of the larvae in association with topical administration of steroids to reduce conjunctival inflammation.(1) This may be a challenging maneuver, as the larva tends to firmly attach to the ocular surface. Some authors recommend the use of topical anesthetic to loosen the larval attachment.(2) Double eversion of the eyelids is mandatory to ensure that larvae have been completely removed. Early removal decreases the potential of vision loss and larvae dissemination. For subretinal larvae, argon laser photocoagulation has been used with successful results. The last century of the Roman Republic holds two of greatest political alliances in history, the First Triumvirate, created in 60 BC, and the Second Triumvirate, created in 43 BC. While the circumstances and actions of these two unions are very different, they tend to have vey similar trends. Three men come together to increase their political power, take control of the Republic, and fight against a particular group that opposes them. First, we shall look at the creations of these two alliances, as they seem to have distinct similarities. The characters that fill these two coalitions, a brilliant politician, a military commander, and a successful senator, share similar qualities in themselves. Finally, they both end in a similar fashion, as the two more successful men fight for control of the Roman State. In 60 BC Gaius Julius Caesar returned to Rome from his governorship of Hispania Ulterior. There he has successfully campaigned against local tribes and given a triumph. Roman law stated that generals given a triumph had to stay outside the city until the triumph commenced, but Caesar also wanted to run for the consulship of 59 BC, which he had to be in the city to declare. The Senate, led by Cato, denied his request to run in absentia, so Caesar gave up his triumph to become a candidate. Caesar had a lot of opposition against him in the senate, especially from the optimates. The greatest Roman general in 60 BC is Gneaus Pompeius, a man given the title Magnus (The Great) ... • 19. Patriarchy In The Canterbury Tales Chaucer has mastered the techniques required to skilfully put his points across and subtle irony and satire is particularly effective in making a point, (Sheppard). As written by this college professor, Chaucer is very effective in using comedy, and satire, to casually attack sacred ideals of his time. Chaucer carefully uses his characters to battle common ideals, such as his use of the Wife of Bath to pick on patriarchy. In his Canterbury Tales, Chaucer begins with a general prologue where all characters are introduced, including a few who don t quite fit the mold of holy . In the Pardoner s Tale, Chaucer speaks through him and brings the hypocrisy of the church into the light. Chaucer uses his writing of Canterbury Tales to attack two major idea s of his time, including the idea of men being superior to women and the purity of the church. In Chaucer s day society was built on patriarchy, but Chaucer uses Canterbury Tales to voice his radical ideals. A few of these radical ideas come to the surface in the Wife of Bath s prologue. When the woman stands before the group and speaks about herself, she reveals a side of Chaucer that is a threat to society. As the Wife speaks she tells the pilgrims how she believes that women run the world, and how men are the inferior sex. The Wife tells her audience in her prologue, And when I d mastered him, and out of deadlock secured myself the sovereignty in wedlock, (p.129 lines 517 518). This line tells her listeners that she mastered her husband and gained control of the household. The idea of a woman having control of anything in that time was extremely radical. Bon Jovi once said, Women rule the world. It s not really worth fighting because they know what they re doing. Ask Napoleon. Ask Adam. Ask Richard Burton or Richie Sambora. Many a man has crumbled, (Article by Fern). Once a man is willing to admit to what the Wife is saying, there is little room to argue. Of course the common people were able to swallow this pill with Chaucer s unlimited satire and humor. Opponents also point to the steadily declining gun related deaths as evidence against any control. Proponents on the other hand point out that this reduction is due to fewer suicides rather than homicides. Opponents also argue that controlling gun access will only create a thriving black market for firearms. Proponents of the program state that the registry system is an invaluable tool for law enforcement officials. It helps to track firearms and assist in solving cases, while respecting the rights of law abiding citizens to own guns. Judging by the figures presented (exhibit 2) in the case, the sheer volume of queries appear to indicate that the registry indeed is an essential tool for police. Most of his time was spent on the testing of pea plants. He tried to use regular garden pea plants because they were easily accessible, grown in large numbers in the monastery gardens, and they were extremely easy to reproduce while not having to wait a long period of time before receiving results. Common pea plants have both male and female reproductive organs which gives them the ability to either self pollinate or cross pollinate. The experiments were to study their genetic makeup and test them over generations and generations of other pea plants. He would study a parent plants and when their offspring appeared he noticed that only certain characteristics would show up in their offspring. For instance, the pea flowers are either purple or white intermediate colors do not appear in the offspring of cross pollinated pea plants. Mendel observed seven traits that are easily recognized and apparently only occur in one of two forms. 1. Flower color is purple or white. 2. Flower position is axil or ... The pedagogical approaches listed will contain several procedures that are specific to my future high school history class, and a few general strategies that can be implemented by any educator who chooses to utilize them. Because the ninth intelligence is new, there has not been much evidential research on it (Ormrod, 2014, p.121) and therefore, I will not mention it in my examples of ways to incorporate Gardner s Multiple Intelligences into the classroom. Gardner proposes that because these eight types of intelligences are biologically based, they are malleable and therefore capable of evolving (Aborn, 2006). Aborn points out that Gardner s theory is drastically different from many previous widely accepted intelligence philosophies, such as the Stanford Binet IQ Test, which is based on...one type of [genetic] intelligence...and [remains] fixed throughout life (2006, p. 83). Furthermore, it must be noted that the Multiple Intelligences theory suggests that each individual person is born with capabilities in all eight intelligences. To be able to understand poems, it is important to look at the physical parts, the intellectual parts, and how they shape the poem. The author John Donne has written many poems that could be interpreted in many ways, and are analyzed by many people in the United States and around the world. John Donne s The Flea is a good example of a poem that can be analyzed for its physical and intellectual parts, and how they work together to make the poem what it is because it is descriptive, and can be interpreted in many ways. First, it is important to look at the physical parts of a poem. Donne s The Flea is comprised of three stanzas, and twenty seven lines total. The poem talks about a lover and a beloved, and how the love that the lover feels is requited by the beloved. This poem differs from sonnets in the way that the love in a sonnet is unrequited, but the love in this poem is requited, as was talked about in class. In the first stanza, there are nine lines, and each line rhymes with the line after it. For example, line three rhymes with line four at the end with the words thee and be. This continues for the rest of the stanza the last three lines of the stanza in which all three rhyme with the words woo, two, and do. This rhyme scheme is also shown throughout the rest of the poem. • 34. The Gestalt Principles Of Visual Perception The perceptual process enables us to perceive the world through our senses of sight, smell, sound, taste, and touch. In particular, our visual system processes vast amounts of information in its environment. Rather than perceiving elements separately, our brain organizes patterns, objects, and shapes into whole forms that we can understand. The gestalt grouping principles of visual perception describe this organization as a set of principles that explain how we perceive and organize visual stimuli. The gestalt principles similarity, proximity, closure, figure ground, continuance, and common fate were introduced by gestalt psychologist Max Werthimer in his seminal paper Laws of Organization in Perceptual Forms and are a popular tool used by designers for visually organizing information. In this series of articles, we will learn how these principles can be used to improve the usability of designs. Proper use can affect efficiency, learnability, and memorability, and also reduce errors, contributing to the overall satisfaction of a website. The gestalt principles are foundational and hidden behind the structure of a design, making it difficult to understand the concepts visually. Therefore, I first introduce them as simple line and shape examples, to build a foundation for understanding, and then present real world examples to illustrate the principles in use. Through deconstruction of real world examples, I hope to show how the gestalt principles form relationships between ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Marijuana should be legalized for several reasons. The government could save money and earn additional revenue from taxes on its sale. Tobacco sales generate strong sources of Federal revenue because of taxation. As a popular and well marketed product, the sales taxes would amass a savings that could be allotted toward promoting infrastructures, public education and other public utilities for the general welfare of citizens.
