Extended Essay Format
Crafting an essay on the "Extended Essay Format" can be quite challenging, requiring a
meticulous approach and a deep understanding of the subject matter. The task involves not only
presenting a coherent and well-structured argument but also adhering to the specific guidelines
and requirements of the extended essay format. This format typically demands a more extensive
exploration of a chosen topic, often exceeding the usual length of standard essays.
One of the difficulties lies in conducting thorough research to gather relevant information and
data to support the essay's claims. The extended essay format often requires in-depth analysis and
critical thinking, making it necessary for the writer to delve into various sources and perspectives.
Moreover, maintaining a cohesive and logical flow throughout the essay can be demanding.
Connecting ideas seamlessly and ensuring that each section contributes to the overall argument
while staying within the prescribed format can be a daunting task.
Another challenge is the need for a comprehensive understanding of the chosen topic. The
extended essay format encourages students to delve into complex subjects, requiring a nuanced
comprehension that goes beyond surface-level knowledge. This depth of understanding is crucial
for constructing a compelling and insightful essay.
Furthermore, time management is a significant factor. The extended essay format implies a more
extensive time commitment compared to standard essays, as the research and writing process
may span several weeks or even months. Balancing other academic and personal responsibilities
alongside this intensive writing project can be a demanding feat.

Three Things I Chosen For My Time Capsule
In 100 years from now, things will not be the same. They will probably have more
technology and better ways of doing things. Just think of how much has changed
since 1990, just twenty eight years ago, things were much different. As times
changes, things improve and get better. So imagine what cell phones will be like in
fifty years or computers, or what kind of resources they can use. Imagine how useful
google will be, people not even having to learn things, but look up anything and
everything they need to know. The three things I picked for my timecapsule is a cell
phone, a juul, and a Make America Great Again hat.
My first item in my time capsule would be a juul. The rise of the juul was so quick to
rise to popularity in such a short time

Comparing the Persuasive Techniques Used in Two Charity Fundraising
Advertisements
The hardest thing for any charity is to raise money. There is only one way to do
this, that is to persuade people to part with their money and donate it to a good
cause. The Bhopal Medical Appeal and Save The Children advertisements are two
examples of this.
Both of these advertisements come from The Observer a broadsheet newspaper.
Consequently it is assumed that the target audience is those of a higher education and
people who more likely to actually read the advertisement.
In both of the advertisements they use very different persuasive techniques. It is easy
to see how the two advertisements, both ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two advertisements also use strong adjectives to create an emotive impact on
the reader. The Bhopal Medical Appeal advertisement uses adjectives such as
Severe Filthy and New . Adjectives such as these tell the reader more about the
situation. It also adds to the emotion of the reader, making them think this is not just
pain ; it is severe pain . Again, the Save The Children advertisement shows a use of
adjectives, such as poorest, hardest, and generously make the reader ask themselves
if they gave generously to the poorest and hardest working people in this world,
maybe they could make a difference with their donation? Therefore adjectives tell the
reader more about the situation, help the reader picture an image in their minds, and
make the reader question themselves.
Questions are also used in both advertisements. Rhetorical questions make the reader
feel much more involved, as it is focused directly on the reader. Ten pence seems
such a tiny amount, doesn t it? This is a rhetorical question that the Save The
Children advertisement uses. This encourages the reader to believe that ten pence is a
tiny amount. The Bhopal advertisement also uses rhetorical questions as a persuasive
technique. After we are told how little the
Should Football Be Banned In Schools
With football being the most competitive sport in the nation, many people have
debated of whether this sport should be banned in high schools due to the major
injuries it may cause. Football is known to have the highest concussion rate, next to
boys ice hockey. However, the amount of money football makes for both high school
and colleges, (it may not be the best idea to completely ban this sport). High school
football should not be banned because if techniques were taught correctly many
injuries could be prevented, athletes can benefit from athletic scholarships, and the
money football raises benefits the schools. It may be true that the sport of football
can cause physical and psychological damage to high school athletes. Football is a

According to the National Collegiate Athletic Association, athletes looking to play
division one football at the collegiate level are all in competition for scholarships.
According to Average Athletic Scholarship per Varsity Athlete The NCAA can
award financial aid to as many as 85 players, with each player able to receive a full
scholarship . Scholarship and financial aid are ways for students attending colleges
and universities to earn money towards things such as tuition and fees they may
have to pay. The sport of football has the most scholarships available, especially for
incoming freshman s leaving the highschool level. According to Average Athletic
Scholarship per varsity player with the average cost of tuition being well over
$26,000 in the Central region of the United States athletic scholarships will still be
available as football continues to be a sport in high school. As we know, colleges
ia already expensive. This helps better the future of those who goes to college off an
Scholarship, maybe without that scholarship they may have not be able to get in
college. Keeping the sport of high school football will help a lot of athletes not only
reach the next level but also receive financial help when paying for
Persuasive Speech About Sports
As Kobe Bryant said; Sports are such a great teacher. I think of everything they
taught me: commodity, humility, and how to resolve differences . (Kobe Bryant).
Sports are all over the world and range from many activities such as hockey,
basketball, football, cricket, swimming, and bowling. I as a youth participated in
many different sports including volleyball, basketball, soccer, golf, tennis, and
gymnastics and with all of these sports I was able to grow my confidence,
determination, and leadership that I now carry with me through life. All children
benefit by being involved in a sportat some point in their life. Today I will discuss the
Health, social and psychological benefits and Educational benefits that come from
children participating in sports. Not every sport is for every childand not everyone is
amazing at sports, but all children should experience sports and find a sport they love.
With sports children can grow into healthy and athletic adults as well as successful
humans with high positivity in physical activity. Sports enhances the physical and
mental developments of children and aids their growth as they get older and become
adults
I. Children grow with the help of sports. Children s health, social, and psychological
benefits are adapted at higher rates with the participation of sports. Sports positively
affects aspects of children s development with themselves and their esteem, others
around them, the idea of working towards a goal and what it takes
Kamp Kason Karate Case Study
KAMP KASON KARATE is a summer youth Karate program that developed in 1991,
when the author decided to take inner city kids off the hot (crime infested) streets for
the summer and give them a chance to experience the Fun the Mental
(Fundamentals), that NYC could offer outside their Neighborhood. The Karate
program offered all the trimmings which are usually sponsored by big corporations,
which urban parents cannot afford. Kamp Kason Karate gave free trips, breakfast,
and lunch Monday through Friday and karate uniforms with limited to no funding at
all. The author also sponsored student s participation in tournaments. At times the
children s would parade the streets (in Karate uniform) and raise donations by giving

Strange Death of Silas Deane
The Strange Death of Silas Deane by James West Davison and Mark Hamilton Lytle
creates a new perspective on what people see history as. Although many people would
define history as something that happened in the past, through The Strange Death of
Silas Deane , the authors demonstrate that this everyday view on historycan be
profoundly misleading.
In the section, An Untimely Death , the author explains the key events of Deane s
life and his death. Silas Deane began his life as the son of a humble blacksmith in
Groton, Connecticut (16). He went from rags to riches as he graduated from Yale
College and opened up a practice. Deane married, divorced, and married again. He
wasn t happy being a businessman so he entered politics. He ... Show more content on

His story reveals a lot about himself as well as Deane. The reason why Deane
contacted Bancroft when he was going to England was so Congress s Committee of
Secret Correspondence had a good source of information about British war plans (23).
As mentioned earlier, Arthur Lee did accuse Deane of using his position to make a
profit for himself, but that was just an accusation up until now. Apparently Deane was
Escapism s The Strawberry Battlefield
Escapism describes the desire to circumvent the circumstances of one s current
reality and is one of the major appeals of television in the modern age. Wilbur
Schramm, an scholar of mass communication, lists escape as one manifestation of the
entertainment function of (mass) communication (oxford). Escapism can be centered
around any number of fantasies, however each one caters to some desire or
shortcoming in our everyday lives. Escapism is directly tied to ideas of a paradiscal
existence through the Pollyanna principle, which is a behavioral theory that states
people seek out pleasant stimuli and avoid unpleasant ones (Matlin 1). The theory
applies itself to both memory, perception, and imagination all of which are crucial to

original gem colonizers made new gem soldiers (...). Gems are made by injecting a
combination of unknown ingredients into the earth. in the process, a portion of the
planetary life force is removed making the immediate surrounding completely
inhospitable to life. The location is shown as a deep canyon with humanoid shaped
holes lining every wall. The machines used to inject the gems into the earth cling to
the sides at all angles. Their design is distinctly reminiscent of bacteriophage virus,
with large red diamond heads and spider like appendages. This setting is darker in
tone than all others I ve encountered in the show. The Kindergarten is representational
of hell as it exhibits the danger that the balance may shift from a minimum of well
being and security to and a maximum of discomfort and tension..turning the
experience of paradise into that of hell (43). In superimposing the alien infrastructure
onto a shell of a natural environment, and thereby inverting the circumstance of the
Strawberry Battlefield, the tone of the landscape changes to one of panic. The viewer
is made to understand the threat of gem colonization through antagonistic imagery.
Here, familiarity is warped by mystic influences to a point of discomfort. Each

It is a well known fact that the government makes laws that benefit it, and
sometimes to the detriment of the average citizen. Take, for example, the tax laws.
You would be hard pressed to find a taxpayer who believes that paying taxes is fair.
In fact most people would complain that they pay taxes all year by having an
amount held out from their check, only to owe additional monies every April 15.
This form of governmental taking is probably the most popular, but there are other
actions that result in a private citizen losing their property to a governmental agency.
However not every instance of a taking leaves the average citizen without a remedy,
and in some instances not every instance of taken results in the person having less

It is the area of what amount of payment is adequate that is most frequently
contested in a condemnation matter. In order to show that the amount offered

way to show for what type of use the land is most suited. If the proposed use does not
make the most of the possibilities, the amount of compensation offered may not be

Modern Vampire Research Paper
People! Hey, people! People! Listen up, because this will blow your freakin minds.
Modern fantasy fiction? Totally based on a retro role playing tabletop game. For
real. I know, I know, I had trouble containing my amazement at this epic discovery I
just made today. I m probably like the first person ever to make this connection. In
all seriousness though, modern fantasy would not be what it is without the
influence of classic tabletop roleplaying games like the Dungeons Dragons and
World of Darkness series. I spent countless hours as teen and college student tossing
D20s and D6s, my mind drowned in The Forgotten Realms and the adventures of
Drizzt Dro Urden and Wulfgar son of Beorngar. To this day, I still see the influence of
D20 games... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
White Wolf Publishing s Vampire: The Masquerade and Ancient Blood are both the
source inspiration for the plethora of vampire fiction that spawned after the
publication of Stephenie Meyer. s Twilight saga. Indeed, Twilight itself owes a
tremendous amount to the world of V:TM. White Wolf s created world casts
players as vampires living, working, and hunting as part of a secret and ancient
vampire culture that exists in the shadows of the human world. This theme is
prevalent in every vampire fantasy fiction from The Vampire Diaries to my
personal favorite Buffy The Vampire Slayer. V:TM s creator Mark Rein Hagen
states that he did not read Anne Rice s The Vampire Chronicles novels while
working on the game, but admits it may have certain shared elements with the
world of LeStat and his vampire cronies. Even the plot and structure of Meyer s
Twilight universe show heavy influences of both Rice and and Rein Hagen, though
it is unknown if Meyer was familiar with either work. The fantasy of being a being
apart, yet part of a greater and secretive whole was what makes V:TM and fiction
similar to it such an engaging role playing game. Authors of modern vampire fiction
all seem to be creating worlds and characters that mimic role playing settings and
characters in their behavior and design. It is as if they are trying to offer readers what
they have experienced themselves from roleplaying games. While neither Joss

Since the company is considering a large technology upgrade, I have included two
possible laptop and phone options for my position. One option is Apple products, the
other is not, as the company is exploring the option of switching primarily to Apple
products. The first option (option A) is a combination of a Lenovo laptopand
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 mobile phone. The second option is a combination of the
iPad Pro and iPhone8. Either option would suit my needs well and could be chosen
based upon if the company switches to Apple or stays with the PC/Android based
products.

The chosen computer is the iPad Pro tablet. Functioning as such, the iPad Pro is
light, portable, and has a long lasting battery, suitable for longer trips required for
the position. It has a standard RAM of 256 GB and a quick processor at 2.4GHz
with a clear resolution screen that will make completing tasks easier and faster.
I have also chosen to complete the iPad Pro with the additional keyboard, as it is not
included with the machine (unlike the Lenovo IdeaPad Miix 510). This is an
additional cost, but necessary to complete the job.
In addition to the computer and keyboard for option B, I have chosen the iPhone 8.
The connectivity between two devices will make transferring information from one
to the other effortless and easy to manage. The iPhone 8 has a faster CPU, which is
nearly 70% faster than its predecessor and this difference means that I will be able to
have decision making information for our customers. While upfront costs are quite
substantial, the necessity of a phone is essential.
Above is the comparison table between the Lenovo IdeaPad Miix 510 and the
Apple iPad Pro. While both computers are impressive, upon further inspection, the
Lenovo has a larger screen and an impressive RAM capability, yet it does not have
the battery life of the iPad Pro. However, as noted before, there is an additional
processor. It also has Bluetooth capability that will allow communication between
phone and computer, quite similar to Apple/Mac s feature mentioned

The separation of powers in the Constitution
Separation of powers is the division of political authority that gives a system of
checks and balances to make sure that no solitary branch turn out to be excessively
infringes or powerful on the rights of the citizens ( Gray, Kenneth, et.al 2005). The
term separation of powers or trias politica was formed by Charles Louis de
Secondat, baron de La BrГЁde et de Montesquieu, an 18th century French political
and social philosopher. Spirit of the Laws is one of his publications and considered
as one of the tremendous works in the history of and jurisprudence and, political
theory; it inspired the Declaration of the Rights of the Constitution and Man and of
the United States (Anderson, Gordon L.2004). Under his model, the political
authority of the state is separated into legislative, executive as well judicial powers.
He declared that, to most efficiently promote liberty, these three powers have to be
dividing and acting independently.
Therefore, separation of powers refers to the distribution of government tasks and
responsibilities into diverse branches to limit any one branch from exercising the
essential functions of another. The objective is to prevent the concentration of power
and give for checks and balances.
The usual characterizations of the powers of the branches are:
* The legislative branch is responsible for issuing the laws of the state and
Female Athletes As Role Models For The Sports Industry
Female athletes do not get paid as much as they deserve for the work they execute
for the sports industry. Female athletes do so much for the sports industry that is not
appreciated. They are good role models for adolescent girls to be confident in
themselves and to get involved in sports and activities outside or at school. Female
athletes also produce profit for the industry as well as earn money from endorsements
just as maleathletes do. Although people may state that female athletes lack in
many different factors, female athletes are good role models for their young
viewers, they are the driving force that generates most of the revenue for the teams
federation, and they portray the equal amount of work that the male athletes do
and therefore, should receive the same payment. Peer pressure and self esteem are
two things girls are struggling with in today s day and age, but female athletes
encourage girls to get involved in sports in order to clear up some stresses they
might be having. Female athletes promote confidence and strength which helps
adolescent girls understand that these things are key to being a successful person
in life. Experts state that by the age of 12, girls are 6 times more likely to drop out
of playing sports than boys because girls do not receive as many positive
reinforcements about their sports participation as boys. Female athletes can improve
and change the behavior of the girls so that they will have confidence and feel like
they want to
The Resilience Center Lists The Definition Of Resiliency
The Resiliency Center lists the definition of Resiliency as:
Able to recover quickly from misfortune; able to return to original form after being
bent, compressed, or stretched out of shape. A human ability to recover quickly from
disruptive change, or misfortune without being overwhelmed or acting in
dysfunctional or harmful ways. As in Our team showed great resilience, or Our team
had good resiliency. (n.d.)
There are numerous points of view on resiliency, as non‑governmental associations
(NGOs) perceive that individuals capacity to better withstand and recuperate from
calamities is basic to maintaining improvement. NGOs, contributors and worldwide
reaction groups are attempting to characterize resiliency in their terms. CRS
characterizes resiliency as the capacity of people, communities and institutions to
advance integral human development in the face of shocks, cycles and trends (2014,
p.2). The vulnerable individuals themselves best characterize strength and resiliency.
What vulnerable individuals accept helps most to their versatility limit is
discriminating to current dialogs on resiliency. Contributors and NGOs may have
their own meaning of the term; however, an understanding of what it really means to
individuals looking to make their community resilient is crucial to outlining
successful Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and recovery activities in development,
risk reaction and catastrophe recuperation programs (CRS, 2014). The danger of not

Franz Joseph Haydn s Music
Franz Joseph Haydn (1732 1809), is one of the eminent composers of the Classical
period. He is best known for his symphonies and string quartets, which established
standards of quality, style, content, form, and expressivity that other composers
emulated. Haydn spent most of his career serving the EsterhГЎzy family (1761 90),
which isolated him from the music world, but forced him to become original, as he
himself wrote. Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714 1788) greatly influenced Haydn.
He was fascinated by the expressive style of C. P. E. Bach, and adopted its
passionate quality. The majority of Haydn s keyboard compositions are sonatas. His
other keyboard works include piano trios, theme and variations, dances, fantasias, and

Many titles are representative of real life people. Chiarina is a portrait of Clara

Proper Strategy Implementation And Evaluation Of Dish
Network
This essay will react to the proper strategy implementation and evaluation that should
be adopted by Dish Network. Dish is an American based corporation that provides
broadcasting services to clients via television and the internet. A strategic
management plan such as that possessed by Dish can be successfully implemented
when a high focus is placed on measuring the level of performance and commitment
in the implementationand evaluation phases. The strategic plan should be evaluated
before, and after it is implemented. Some of Dish s past strategies have been
unsuccessful, while some were implemented successfully. Before a strategic plan is
implemented at Dish Network, the organization has always ensured that it has several
parameters in check. The delivery process that is to be utilized in the implementation
of the specific strategy is usually aligned to the vision of the corporation.
Dish Corporation s strategy has in the past been successfully achieved based on
correct timing in merging policies, operations, and incorporating the required changes
within the organization. In the past, the company has ensured that its financial and
administrative capabilities are matched to the tasks to be executed within specified
durations. The management also selects the projects that are most likely to be
achieved and contribute to the attaining of set goals and profits; in line with the
organization s short and long term strategies. All organizations have competing
projects since
Essay on Gender Studies in Emily Bronte s Wuthering
Heights
Gender Studies in Emily Bronte s Wuthering Heights
Gender played an important role in the style of writing known as Gothic . Traditional
stereotypes were often broken. Men were not always portrayed as dominant, strong,
rational or masculine. Likewise, women were not always portrayed as weak,
submissive, irrational, or feminine. This essay will take a look at the relationship
between Catherine and Edgar Linton in Emily Brönte s Wuthering Heights. We will
take a look at how their characters are portrayed, how this affected their marriage, and
how each character retained some of the traits attributed to their gender.
Catherine s character will be examined first, since she is one of the main characters
in the book. Catherine was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On our first glimpse of Edgar, we see him and his sister, Isabella, crying over some
ridiculous issue. Ellen describes him as a mama s boy and a wimp, but he is also
quite frank, as we see on page 45 when he buts in on someone else s conversation.
To get to the point, Edgar was a very sensitive, emotional, frail child, not at all
portrayed as masculine.
After Catherine and Edgar meet, it is obvious they will be married. One incident in
particular seemed to set the tone of their marriage. On page 55, we see an example
of Catherine s horrible temper and how it manifested itself through physical
violence. Edgar, shocked at seeing his idol (p.55) commit such a deed, became very
emotional and decided to leave. As we all know, he did not get very far before he
came back.
In this scene, Catherine became physically dominant, as shown by her use of force on
everyone around her. Her use of manipulation to get Edgar back showed a very
rational and intelligent mind at work, but the fact that she truly cried over the
situation shows emotion, even if it was embarrassment. While Edgar was emotional
during this scene, he was determined to leave, at first. He ultimately proved to be
submissive by coming back and giving in to her.
Catherine and Edgar s relationship mirrored the future relationship between
Heathcliff and Isabella. Catherine was no longer physically abusive to Edgar, but
emotionally and mentally abusive. We see a glimpse of this when she blackmailed
Money Matters Syllabus
The person I chose to write a profile on is my Money Matters course teacher, Brian
Bean. The thing is he is not just a phenomenal teacher, but I trust he has invented one
of the best math courses an educator could teach before students enter the real world.
The course he created and designed was meant to prepare high school students to
juggle the practical aspects of the real world in their daily after they graduate. Brian
created a unique problem solving model that trained students on how to breakdown a
decision, identify the resources at their disposal, generate appropriate solutions, and
when necessary communicate effectively their conclusions and understandings.
Ultimately, this course is about finding out who you are, what your challenges will
be, and what your path to success will look like.
The motivation for this course he created was an actual a real life experience he ran
into; he was a victim of one of the worst things that could happen to just about
anyone. Brian came upon a company that advertised it would double his money if he
invested money into their company. At the time this company seemed very legitimate

started purchasing expensive material objects. He didn t think too much of it, well
when the company quit answering his calls things started getting weird. Brian
started getting calls and mail from banks stating he owed this much for these
things, but Brian didn t have that kind of money so he started to panic and things
started to unravel. As he started to figure what this company really was he
concluded that it was a Ponzi scheme, once Brian gathered all of the information the
guy that ran it was already down in South America, living life with all the money he
gained from the Ponzi scheme. By definition, a Ponzi scheme is intended to persuade
the public to place their money into a falsified stock or
Characteristics Of A Volleyball Player
Athletes; they are all talented, they all work hard, but to be a volleyball player it
takes much more than talent and hard work. Volleyball is the sport through which I
am able to express my God given talents of being an athlete. It is a sport which
involves relating, pushing, and encouraging your teammates. It has helped evolve me
into the person I am today (David Beard). Volleyballplayers put so much into the
game that they put in their heart and their soul. It becomes your life. A volleyball
playeris unified with her team, tenacious with the sport, and resilient throughout
every game and every season. These three characteristics are found in every great
player and are key to this sport. Unification, it is one of, if not the most important,
characteristics of a volleyball player. Volleyball is a sport that needs its team to be
unified. The goal on the court is to score a point, you get that by getting a pass, a
set, and then finally a kill. It takes three people to accomplish this. All the while,
the other three players are covering or expecting the unexpected. Together, that s
how you score a pint, that s how you win the game, that s how you play volleyball.
Being one as a team also takes trust. To play as a team you must trust each other. You
have to trust the girl beside you to get that dig. Without trust there is no way to be
banded together, and without unification a team will fail. I have seen (and been a part
of) multiple teams that have fallen apart

yourself with. This week we re talking about what s on the rugs: their designs! I
tend to be kind of an art geek. What can I say? I m drawn to interesting images, and
art has some of the most intriguing images to offer. Art galleries, museums, art
blogs; all of it! What I love most about art is the meaning behind the shapes and
colors chosen. Granted, not all art has a deeper meaning beyond whatever the artist
splattered onto a blank canvas. In that case, it s all in the eye of the beholder.
Oriental rugs feel like art to me, and I like to collect art which is why buying an

Infrastructure, Resources And Cost Analysis
4 INFRASTRUCTURE, RESOURCES AND COST ANALYSIS
4.1 Infrastructure Analysis
As mentioned in the comprehensive infrastructure analysis section above. The
planned smart phone application will be incorporated into the current three tier web
platform architecture. The smart phone application will be the new presentation tier
which hosts static contents and communicate with the logical tier through secured
https protocol. The logical tier then communicate with the date tier, processes the
request and response to the presentation tier. There is no need to make significant
change to the current IT infrastructure on the server level. However, some extra
desktop level hardware and software are required for implementing the smart phone
app pilot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They will take over the responsibilities of the smart phone app maintenance after the
project is completed. Table 2 shows the required internal and contractor resources and
the associated estimated start and finish date for the smart phone app pilot project.

Guatemal A Country And Poor Country
Guatemala is a beautiful, diverse yet small and poor country in Latin America.
Because of its ongoing economic crisis, the country has reached a reality where,
according to WFP (2016), Guatemala has not only the highest rate of malnutrition in
Latin America, but also is considered the country with the fourth biggest rate of
chronic malnutritionworldwide. This topic has an enormous relevance because as
WFP (2016) mentions, the chronic malnutrition that kids from this country go though
is what makes Guatemalabe one of the 36 countries in the world that form 90% of the
worlds stunting. According to Unicef (2016), the percentage of children of five years
or less that are considered to be underweight is for 4 in every 10. It is astonishing to
realize that it is nearly half of the infant population in the entire country of Guatemala
that is undernourished. In the following paragraphs it will be examined questions
involving the relation that mothers have with the under nutritionof the children and if
past generations can influence under nutrition. Furthermore, it will be examined what
is traditionally given to kids at a daycare.
Is there a correlation between the relationships that mothers have with their children s
under nutrition at an early age? Can the current situation of malnutrition have been
influenced by past generations?
Under nutrition is not only considered to begin at an advanced age (5 years or more).
It has been proven that infant malnutrition can begin even
Steam Car History
Beginning in the 1770 s many people tried to make cars run on steam. Some early
steam cars worked well, and and some did not. Some were fire pumpers that moved
by themselves, and other were small locomotives with road wheels. Beginning in the
1800Вґs, inventors tried very hard to make cars that would run enough to use every
day.
These experimental cars ran on steam, gasoline, or electricity. By the 1890 europeans
were buying and driving cars made by Duryea, Haynes Winton, and others. A steam
car burned fuel that heated water in a boiler.
By 1905 gasoline cars were made more popular than steam electric cars because they
were easier to use and could travel further without adding fuel . By 1910 gasoline
cars became larger and became larger and more powerful, and someland folding tops

The Enlightenment and the Great Awakening.
The Great Awakening and the Enlightenment were two historical events that shaped
the thoughts of people and religion in America. The most important factor in both of
these events is the common theme of reason behind the movements. The Great
Awakening began about the 1930 s and reached its climax ten years later in 1740.
What exactly was the Great Awakening? It was a wave of religion revivals sweeping
through New England that increased conversions and church membership. The
beginnings of the Great Awakening were in Pennsylvania and New Jersey among
Presbyterians and then spread to the Puritans and Baptists of New England. They
were encouraged to confess sins done freely to the church in order to receive
forgiveness. This whole movement was... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People started to look at religion differently. Puritan theology focused on what God
had done for the people. Now, people started to look at what man could do because of
the gifts God had bestowed on us. The responsibility for salvation is not God s but
man s himself. Now Enlightenment had the concepts of reasons but they didn t agree
with having to confess and humble themselves before the Almighty like the people of
the Great Awakening. People close to the Enlightenment celebrated the human race
and it s capacities, they had argued they were worshiping God more appropriately
than anyone else. They believed that some humans were like God, created not only in
his own imagine, but that humans also shared his same creative power and people
such as painters, musicians, and scholars, by these people practicing their intellectual
powers were fulfilling their divine purposes. So like the Great Awakening they did
look more at what them as humans could do for themselves, but in a much larger
degree. Developments in England, such as the Glorious Revolution, the scientific
methods and the rise of the parliamentary government made their way into the
colonies, at this time. The Enlightenment began though, in Europe and then came to
America around the early eighteenth century. The reason it mostly
Compare And Contrast Gattaca And Brave New World
Life extensions are critically dependent on futuristic medical advancements.
However, a strong noble compass is needed to ensure scientific advancements do not
cross moral ethics of life. Brave New World, written by Aldous Huxley, and the
movie Gattaca, directed by Andrew Niccol, propose technologically advanced
societies that challenge ethical and moral views. Although Brave New Worldand
Gattaca relate in genetic discrimination, they differ in technology s powers and
limits, as well as the resiliency of the human spirit. Both works emphasize genetic
discrimination as a major part of their society. Brave New World uses technology
to create a utopian society free from non conformity. Furthermore, it places
individuals into separate levels of social class based on the perceived needs of the
World State. These different classes provide a specific purpose. The protagonist,
John, lives in the Savage Reservation outside of the World State. The Reservation is a
dystopia, as it has a degenerated environment and individuals with no self control.
John is relegated to the bottom of the social class due to his genetic identity and
living style. If one s different, one s bound to be lonely (Huxley 145). Like John,
Vincent in Gattaca also receives prejudice from the utopian society for his genetic
composition. He is considered invalid due to his heart condition. Like Brave New
World, Gattaca is a utopian environment created by technological advancements to
limit possible error.
Science Behind Black Holes
all of you probably know what a black hole is, its a black thing in space that is like
a vacuum and sucks up anything in its way, this is pretty much what most people
think of when they think of a black hole. but today I m going to talk about the actual
science behind black holes, how are they made, whats inside of them, and what
would happen if you went inside of one?
How are black holes made?
in order to get into how black holes are mad you need to understand how stars work.
stars are massive collections of mainly hydrogen atoms, within a stars core, nuclear
fusion causes hydrogen atoms get crushed into helium atoms which releases a ton of
energy, this energy comes in the form of radiation, this radiation pushes against
gravity which makes a nice balance between the two.
Balance is key
For the star to maintain this balance it must maintain fusion within the core, however

so once your inside what happens? there are a lot of theories to what happens,I m
going to talk about to of them, one theory is the following, black holes curve space
so much that once you get inside there is only one way to go, kind of like a very
tight alleyway, as you would go down the alley way, the mass of the black hole
would get so concentrated that gravity would become millions time stronger,
ripping your cells apart until you are no more then a stream of atoms. another
theory states that when you enter the black hole you would quickly be introduced
into a massive firewall and be burned to death instantly. as far as how long you
would survive either of these options would depend on the size of the black hole. a
smaller black hole would kill you almost instantly while a massive black hole you
could probably survive in for a while. how long? nobody

Evolution Of The Modern Era Of Skateboarding
Prior to the days of Dogtown, skateboarding was dead. However, as soon as the
Dogtown culture came alive, so did the modern era of skateboarding. As a result of
surfing, the California drought of the 1970s, and the film work and photography of
Craig Stecyk, this once dead sport has risen from the dead for good. It all began in
the early 1970s when Dogtown, located in Venice Beach, California was home to a
secret surfingcove. This area was constantly populated by pyromaniacs, drug addicts,
artists, and of course surfers , but most importantly the Zephyr surf team. This team
was known as The mafia of the waves (Peralta, 2002). While surfing on the coast, this
team relentlessly practiced new and unique moves on the beachfront. Little did they...

Each one helped to expand growth for the extreme sport already growing in
popularity.
First off, the accident of architecture was inevitable. As years went on, the minds
and creativity of skaters was bound to evolve. The boys from Dogtown did just that.
With reference to my second point, these skaters took advantage of Mother Nature.
When the California drought of the 1970s occurred, they made use of the
architecture that was not being used. Seaside pools became more than just an empty
unusable piece of land built underground, but a bowl for skaters to develop their
innovation for the future of the sport (Hayes, 2005).
The availability of television time also had an impact on the rise of skate. While
the status of skateboarding was taking off, so was television and sport. The 1980s
marked the introduction of innumerable network options (Cable s Story, 2015). Not
long after in the mid 1990s, the X Games kicked off and included skateboarding as
one of its activities. From that point on the skateboarding market continued to
flourish as more and more television shows came out about skating, along with the
creation of video game such as Tony Hawk s Pro
Steganography Is The Most Effective And Fastest Media
For...
In this modern era, the computer and internet have becomes the most effective and
fastest media for communication that connect different parts of the global world. As
a result, people can easily exchange information and share information with the others
via the internet. However, the information security requires the confidential data that
needs to be protected from the unauthorized users. Steganography is one of the
methods used for the secure transmission of confidential information. It can provide a
high level of security to secure the important data during combined with encryption.
Steganography is a Greek origin word that means stegos meaning cover and grafia to
which classified as cover writing. Steganography is hiding a secret message into other
information such as sound, image and video. It is also known as invisible
communication. In addition, steganography is related to two technologies which are
watermarking and fingerprinting. Both these technologies provide the same goals
which are mainly used for intellectual property protection. Thus, both are different in
algorithm requirements. Watermarking provides a hidden copyright protection by
owner whereas the fingerprinting used a copy of the carrier object and make it as
unique to the different customer. Besides, image steganography is a collection of
numbers that hide information or message inside the image. In this image hidden
method, the pixels of the image are changed to hide the secret data and invisible to
Cultural Retention During The Middle Passage

Cultural Retention in Jamaica
Transport through the Middle Passage was a time of immense misery, suffering, and
death for the millions of Africans who experienced it between the 1600s and 1800s.
After arriving to Africa from Europe, slave traders violently kidnapped or bought
African men, women, and children, for iron, cloths, and firearms. The Africans, most
of whom were taken from Upper Guinea, Sierra Leone, Angola, the Gold Coast,
which is now the nation of Ghana, and other West African countries knew nothing of
their fate, leading some to commit suicide and starve themselves on the slave ships.
Though there was a heavy loss of life during transport and upon arrival to the
Americas and the Caribbean, at least 12 million Africans endured deadly conditions
and began what is now called the African Diaspora. The Middle Passage had a great
influence on many aspects of African culture due to the shared sense of pain and
struggle that united the slaves and due to the ways they responded to oppression in
the New World. Conditions of the Middle Passage contributed to the carving out of
new cultural systems in New World slave plantation societies and resistance to slavery
led to a retention of African cultures in many Caribbean countries that is still evident
today. In this paper, I wish to argue that cultural and linguistic similarities between the
people of Ghana and the people of Jamaica can be attributed

Stephen King: On Writing
Stephen King is a man of many talents and personalities; not only is he able to
scare his readers immensely, he is also able to make them laugh. I chose a passage
from Stephen King s On Writing for this assignment; the passage stuck in my mind
for a long time after I finished the book. His writing style is unique compared to the
other autobiographies I have read over the years. Everything that a person writes
has a meaning or purpose whether it s a letter or an essay and voice, tone, and style
play a very important part in how the reader views the piece of writing. King
manipulates the rules of writing in order to emphasize the meaning of the passage,
which is to describe an early childhood experience, so the ... Show more content on

WASP Stereotypes Of Southern Italian Immigrants
The United States was and is widely known as a melting pot . Common belief holds
that America welcomed hopeful immigrants from overseas, and provided them with
opportunities that would give them better lives for themselves and their families.
While such a statement is technically true in general, the issues in regards to
prejudice and racism, is where the metaphor weakens for America as a beacon of
hope for immigrants. Many people today believe that Americans have always
embraced and encouraged the melting potconcept. However, WASP stereotypes of
immigrants were the driving force behind the quality of treatment received by
immigrant groups. It was the group they hated, which made it difficult for immigrants
to be seen as individuals, let... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They even created shrines within their homes for particular Saints, so they could pray
properly in absence of a church. The church and government gave the Southern
Italians deep trust issues when it comes to institutions and people outside of their
family and village. The family became the most important institution in Southern
Italy, and this belief carried over with them to The United States. The WASPs viewed
the Southern Italians opposition to religious institutions as disrespectful and anti
religious. In the eyes of WASPs, the Southern Italians antagonistic attitude towards
church was worse than the fact that they were Catholics. A difference in religion was
cause for dislike, but an absence of religious practices, or so they thought, was
immoral.
One of the biggest stereotypes depicting Southern Italians as immoral is the idea
that they are all affiliated with the Mafia. This WASP belief was formed based on a
.0025% of truth. An extremely small population of the Southern Italians engaged in
organized crime. However, WASPs believed that all organized crime was run by
Italians, and that all Southern Italians were involved or connected with the crimes in
some way. The Italian way of closeness of family and exclusiveness of anyone who
was not family, helped confirm the WASPs theory of intertwined

the thermometer to stabalize. Using a 10 mL pipet and bulb pipet, one should pipet
exactly 10mL of distilled water into a pre weighed 50mL beaker. Measure and
record the water s mass. One will use the same balance forthe rest of the experiment.

Emotional Intelligence And Effective Leadership
Emotional Intelligence and Effective Leadership
What is emotional intelligence?
Emotional intelligence is the ability to perceive emotions, to access and generate
emotions, to access and generate emotions so as to assist thought, to understand
emotions and emotional knowledge, and to reflectively regulate emotions so as to
promote emotional and intellectual growth. Mayer Salovery, 1997
Emotionally intelligent leaders are somewhat manipulative. Emotionally intelligent
leaders are able to achieve success in the work place because they are capable of
persuading employees to comply with requests, acclimate to change, or work together
collaboratively in a manner that is beneficial to the company without causing harm.
Batool (2013) argues unlike intelligence quotient; emotional intelligence does not
involve mathematical or logical adept. Emotional Intelligence requires the ability to
perceive, understand, manage, and use emotions (Batool, 2013, p. 85).

Behavior Plan for Violence in a 1st Grade Class
Through the last two weeks I noticed some behavioral changes in my first grade
class; to be more specific I noticed increased rate of violence, increased rate of
conflicts, increased rate of complains from two students, increased rate of bulling and
increased rate of crying and screaming.
So, I decided to schedule a set of observations for the whole class and other specific
observations for the 2 students from which I received most of the complains to go
deeper in to details and know the reason behind these symptoms to be able to solve
the situation, as one of my roles is to maintain the emotional health of the students
and create an emotionally balanced environment to go through learning process
smoothly.
I noticed that most of these behaviors are during recess time or PE session so I
decided to attend all the recesses and the PE sessions to observe the two students.

I have a relativity small class with almost balanced ratio of girls and boys as I have 9
students (5 girls and 4 boys) with narrow age range 6 7 years old .They are all

As I mentioned before I will observe the students in both the recess and PE
sessions. Both take place in the play ground; it is divided into three areas: green area,
shaded area and sand pit. Play ground description as follows:
Green area: It is a trapezoid area surrounded by low height plastic fence from three

The Trials From World War II, South Africa
No one possesses a magic wand which the architects of the new dispensation could
wave and, Hey presto! things will be transformed overnight into a promised land
flowing with milk and honey (Tutu 3). After the apartheid, South Africa needed a
way to reconcile the wrong that had taken place throughout the country. Instead of
modeling the Nuremberg Trials from World War II, South Africa
implemented Truth
and Reconciliation Commissions (TRC). This process guarantees pardon for any
confess crime associated with a political objective (Ruden 2). Desmond Tutu, the
archbishop of the Anglican Church in South Africa, praises and advocates the TRC;
whereas, Sarah Ruden, an American living in South Africa, criticizes the RTC
process based on two main objective points. Ruden sees the RTC process as not
enforcing the laws as well as not giving victims enough reparations. While Ruden
does present logistical evidence in her negative assessment of the TRC process, Tutu
presents a more convincing assessment of the TRC process since he disputes using a
trial system, while also explaining why economically and socially the TRC process
was a successful solution to the post apartheid society in South Africa.
Initially, Tutu begins his assessment by effectively dismantling the idea that putting
perpetrators from the apartheid area on trial would have been a viable solution. Tutu
theorizes that the security forces of the apartheid regime would not have supported

Daemon s Personality And Identity In The Golden Compass
In The Golden Compass, daemons act as an extension or real life manifestation of
someone s consciousness or soul. They take physical form as animals, revealing
information about the character s personality and identity. Daemons are always by
your side, basically like wearing your heart on your sleeve. It is more than just a
soul however, a daemon is also like a friend/extension of yourself that you can talk
to as a friend wherever you go. You can talk to your own daemon like you talk to
yourself, so daemons have a very close connection with its owner . Everyone has one,
but children s daemons tend to switch around as they go through puberty, which is a
pretty good representation of how the teenage/child soul can fluctuate wildly at the
age period.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Daemons can tell us a lot about someone s personality similar people have similar
daemons. For example, servants have dog daemons, which denotes loyalty. Witches
all have bird daemons, probably because they both fly. We can decipher some
underlying information about a character by examining their daemon, because they
are all representative of the consciousness and feelings of its owner. For example,
Mrs. Coulter has a golden monkey for a daemon, which denotes beauty from the
gold, but potentially mischievous intentions from the monkey. Lord Asriel has a
snow leopard for a daemon, which reflects his power, coldness, and potential
aggressiveness. The interaction between two character s daemons can be
representative of how those two characters will interact
My Decision For My Masters
There comes a juncture in life when one is forced to stop and take stock of the
situation. In a world that is changing almost as fast as it is ageing, the confusion
that pervaded my teenage years seemed all the more confusing. I realized if one
were to be caught unawares by change one would always be one of the teeming
millions swept up with the tide of the situation. I realized that I did not wish to lead
a life secure in the conformity. I, as Robert frost would put it, always believed in
Taking the path less traveled . Contradictory as it might sound; my decision to do my
masters is a direct consequence of this non conformist nature. I realized during my
Bachelors degree that to change the rules I have to first master them, to think
differently one has to understand the conformist s stance. So to venture into
uncharted waters one needs to understand the ground laws of navigation. My
decision to pursue my masters is but a step towards give form to the vision I had in
mind for myself. I have completed my Bachelor s Degree in Electronics and
Communications Engineering for undergraduate study as my area of interest from
University of Rajasthan, one of the most prestigious universities in India. I was

and circuits, Control systems, Microcontrollers, Computer Architecture, Network

Physical Health involves getting adequate sleep and rest, eating nutritious meals,
drinking enough water, and being physically active on a regular basis. I put a bed

Though fries make me happy, they are bad for my physical healthbecause they are

health. I put music on my poster because music is a big part of my life. It helps me
get through things like breakups and schoolwork. Listening to music helps me get
in touch with my feelings and deal with daily frustrations. I put art on my poster
because I have always been a good artist. Art is a form of therapy for many people.
Its is a enjoyable challenge and something that I can create to get my mind off of
hectic things. Lastly, I put a bath on my poster. I have always taken a lot of baths.
Relaxing warm baths help me destress and get away from daily demands. A major
strength that I have for mental health would be my coping skills with stress. I
always try to cope with stress in a positive way, pushing away negative thoughts. I
attempt to use positive thoughts and actions to mover forward in life. A weakness
that I have for mental health would be that I sometimes get overstressed and yell,
taking my anger out on my parents. Overall, my mental health is good but I need to

Invicta Soil Patterns
Introduction
The accidental introduction of the red imported fire ant Solenopsis invicta Buren
(Hymenoptera: Formicidae: Myrmicinae) to Alabama between 1933 and 1945 led to
the eventual invasion of all of the southeastern US. Once established, the species
quickly developed a reputation for both its sting and its ability to rapidly invade new
habitats. As S. invicta expanded its range out of urban centers and into various other
habitats, concerns arose about the ability of the species to invade pristine systems and
displace native ant species. Yet, research has found that S. invicta is less of a
superior competitor and more of an opportunistic, disturbance specialist. For example,
a study in southeast Texas by LeBrun et al. (2012) compared the... Show more

invicta (Stiles and Jones 1998, Forys et al. 2002). In the Florida Keys in the late 80
s, the density of S. invicta was relatively low, as invasion had not yet occurred on
every island (Porter 1992). By 2002 a study by Forys et al. found high densities
primarily concentrated along roadways and in edge habitats in every Key.
Furthermore, undisturbed sites were more likely to be occupied if they were within
50m of a road and within 150m of high densities of urban development. This indicates
that the conditions within these sites of localized disturbance allow for persistence
and eventual dispersal into undisturbed sites (Forys et al.
The Issue of Transnational Aid Intervention
The issue of transnational aid intervention has become a worldwide topic for debate
regarding its role in ethics and legitimacy in international relations. Historically,
international aid had been provided by developed worlds governments. However, aid
provided by the developed world became problematic because of international treaties,
violation of state sovereignty, and the spread of capitalist enterprises (Willetts). In
addition to, many of the developing world leaders, consider the concept of aid
intervention to be potentially threatening and an excuse for more powerful nations to
undermine and threaten their state sovereignty through a change in the nations
economic and social discourses (Willetts). In an attempt to counterbalance this
predicament, institutions known as Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) were
formed to emphasize humanitarian issues, developmental aid and sustainable
development (Willetts). An NGO is defined as a citizen based association that
operates independently of government, usually to deliver resources or serve some
social or political purpose (Willetts 1). Currently, NGOs play a crucial role in
providing mechanisms which enhance global human progress. To understand the
work of NGOs one must know the history of humanitarian aid and developmental
assistance. History of Humanitarian Aid and Developmental Assistance Humanitarian
aid is defined as physical resources and or logistical assistance intended to save lives,
alleviate suffering, and
Helmet Persuasive Essay
Introduction
Over the years, many motorcycle accidents have led to death. Some of these
accidents could have been prevented with the protection of a helmet in which many
lives could have been saved. This document proposes a review of how a helmet can
help a motorcyclist or passenger in an accident and why all states should require
motorcyclists and passengers to wear helmets. The proposed review will discuss the
physical and mental principles behind the causes of wearing and not wearing the
helmet and what will change if the law is passed.
Justification of Proposed Review
Per mile driven, a motorcyclist is 16 times more likely to die in a crash than an
automobile driver. Wearing a motorcycle helmetreduces that risk by almost one third

How The Blade Is Made Up Of Curved Watered Steel
The Freer Dagger, called such because it resides in the collection of the Freer
Gallery, is 38.0 cm long, and weighs approximately 500 gm with sheath. The blade
is made up of curved watered steel that has been ribbed. The handle and sheath are
similarly made of watered steel, that is applied to a wooden core. The watered
steel has been chased and inlaid with gold. The handle and sheath are decorated
with both raised and inlayed floral motifs, vegetal scrolls and calligraphy, precisely
rendered, as if it were a page in an illuminated manuscript. The pommel of the
handle has a seetting for a stone, which is now broken, though x ray diffraction
analysis has identified the stone as having been a garnet.1 (DOES THIS PLAY A
SIGNIFICANT ROLE?). The handles contains six cartouches with inscriptions in
nastaliq script (three on each side). The first and second cartouches on each side
consist of persian inscriptions against a floral/vegetal ground, while the center
contains Koranic inscriptions in Arabic on a plain background. The sheath has a
similar decorative layout to the handle. At the opening for the blade, there is an oval
cartouche, with inscriptions. Along the length of the sheath are six cartouches, linked
together, alternatiting between being filled with scrolls and inscriptions. The
remaining areas are filled with gold inlaid vegetal and floral scrolls, with deer and
birds. The center cartouche is now empty, having been scraped, and probably

Pluto Shits On The Universe
In the poem Pluto Shits on the Universe, the speaker is rebelling against society s
set of mandates, and she is asserting her independence and autonomy. On the first
and last line, Asghar uses the same sentence, Today, I broke your solar system.
Oops. My bad. Repeating the first line at the ending shows that the statement is
important; it sets the tone or theme. As I interpreted the line, I notice that Asghar is
being sarcastic about feeling bad for breaking your solar system. Yet, she doesn t
care, she s tired of society s set of rules, just as Pluto doesn t care about ruining the
solar system. Having this repeated at the intro and at the ending is a way for her to
make sure that we understand this rebellious tone. As we continue
Feed Machine Advantages And Disadvantages
There are advantages and disadvantages that will be exist if we using the feed
machine instead of not using any machines. The advantages that we can observe is
save time and energy. This is because every machine that had been invented is high
technology and can do a various function for a long period of time. Since that the
machine can do a various function, we can say that we can save a lot of time
because the machine can produce a lot of feed in a short period of time and the
feed also can be produced fast and in economic way. In the aspect of energy, we can
also save the energy since that there are reduction of workers that will be used
because of the machine can do their activities by their own without any disturbance

The animal performance also can be improved when the feed are more uniformed in
size and shape compared to powder diet, so they can be taken easily by the animals
due to their high density. The feed also become more compact of the nutrients and
energy that will make the size of the animals become increased rapidly. The size of
the pellet become uniform in size and shape is due to the feed pellet mill that
functions as to make the ingredients to become a pellet. The feed machine also
function to decreased feed wastage because of the pelleting process prevents the
segregation of ingredients in a mixing, handling or feeding process, so animals can
take in all the nutrition contained in the feed. Other than that, the heat generated from
the pelleting process in conditioning and pelleting make the feedstuffs more
digestible by breaking down the starches. From this situation, the pellet will become
more palatable to the animals. After that, feed machine also can reduce the selective
feeding among the animals because of most of the ingredients of the formulation had

Censorship In School Libraries
Censorship is a strong topic now days in the school libraries. Some people think
that we should have censorship in the school libraries and other people would
disagree with that and say that we don t need censorship in the school libraries. For
all you that don t know what censorship is, it is the suppression or prohibition of any
parts of books, films, news, etc. that are considered obscene, politically unacceptable,
or a threat to security. Some people would say that we need censorshipbecause we
need to limit what our children can read about in our school. They say that if the
children read these things that are too graphic for them that this could lead to them
either being scared away from books or their minds might think differently in
Creation Mythology Research Paper
The world and all the complex creations that live upon it have always been a
mystery to man. Questions of creation have been posed by man since the earliest
times. How are we here upon this land? Is the world flat or round? How did this
world get here, hanging in this vast open space? Man has always yearned to know
all, to make sense of everything around us, and every culture has created their own
creation mythology to explain the unknown. Christianity. One of the most well
known creation stories in the world. The bible, set down approximately 3500 years
ago, sells about 100 million copies a year. Christian bible states that the creator of
the world was God, and God alone, through the book Genesis, in chapters 1 through
3. God was said in the bible to have created the Earth, animals, and man in 7 days. In
the first days, God was said to have created the heavens and the Earth. By speaking
unto the immeasurable nothing covering his creation, let there be light, light was
separated into darkness, thus creating the days. The second day he created the skies
to separate it from the water on earth. Next, he created the land and the seas. The next
day he made the land fruitful and filled it with vegetation. On the fourth, he made the
seasons, the stars, the moon, and the sun. The fifth day, he created great creatures of
the sea and winged ones to fly in the sky. On the sixth, he created wild animals and
livestock according to their kinds. On that same day, he created

We re the only burger chain that doesn t have milkshakes. But we couldn t possibly
have a milkshake that comes of out of the machine Jerry says (Roger, Y, 2009).
Second factor quality of food is the heart core factor that contributed to the success
of Five Guys burger. Five Guys burger is better than McDonald s, says Tristano.
Americans have always fallen in love with a better product (Burke M, 2012).
Speaking about quality food that offers Five Guys includes superior quality of
meat, eighty percent lean, always fresh, never frozen at all. Potatoes always come
from northern Idaho, because of weather condition they grow more slowly, solid and
tasty in comparison to the potatoes grown in California or Florida, grow faster and
are cheaper used by other fast food chains. Five Guys use anything but the best.
Five Guys first soak fries in water so when the fries are per fried, the water boils,
forcing steam out of the fry. This forma a seal so that when they get fried a second
time, the fries don t absorb any oil and so are never oily. Fries are much harder
than burgers says Murrell. We work day and night on them, all the damn time.
(Burke M, 2012). Five Guys menu allows the chain to focus all its energy on
executing its burger perfectly (Licata, E., 2009). Five Guys burger decided they
would cook only in peanut oil, which cost five times as much as the oil, other burger
restaurants were using (Lottie L., 2012).

The Theme Of Identity In Mean Girls By Cady Heron
Identity was a common theme among the two short stories and Mean Girls as,
Cady Heron slowly changed her attitude as the film progressed due to being
identified as a Plastic , Andy was refused help even though he was stabbed because
he identified as a Royal and Mary Maloney assumed the identity of a caring wife
after just killing her husband. Firstly, Cady Heron at the begin of the movie was
shown to be innocent and clueless as she has homeschooled in Africa her whole
life but, as soon as she was accepted by Regina George to become a Plastic she
drastically changed her attitude towards her peers. Cady gets confronted by Janis a
close friend of hers and one of the main reasons she became a plastic, where she is

You act like you re so innocent. . This anger stemmed from the fact that Cady didn t
invite Janis to her party and had started to become like a plastic by cutting ties with
people that didn t have a high social standard at her high school because she was a

which is what he is identified as and it affects him greatly. After Andy gets stabbed
he is refused help from the boy and Angela who were nearby, Angela said If we get
a cop, the Guardians ll find out who which implied that the Royals and Guardians
had a feud thus, he was denied help and they both ran. This shows how much affect
his identification as a Royal had and it literally cost him his life. Thirdly, Mary
Maloney assumed the identity of a caring wife even though, she had just killed her
husband which proved to be very advantageous for her. After Mary smashed the
back of his head with a leg of lamb she sat down and began perfecting her act of
being completely oblivious of the incident and to come back home from the market
a grieving wife. She then called the cops and told them that she had just got home
from the market and found her husband dead, she made her identity a grieving wife
and made it as realistic as possible to get away with the

Compass Records
COMPASS RECORDS
BACKGROUND
Compass records is a small, independent music recording company and co founded
in 1994 by musicians Alison Brown and Garry West. Compass is a new breed of
roots music label: eclectic, sophisticated, and artist friendly. It is called one of the
greatest independent labels of the last decade by Billboard Magazine, Compass
Records has provided a thriving haven of creativity for artists and a reliable beacon
of quality for music fans. Its 2006 acquisition of the Green Linnet catalog and the
2008 acquisition of the seminal Mulligan Records label has made Compass the place
to go for Celtic and roots music.

The record label did not pay any recording artist royalties until certain cost incurred
in making and promoting the album had been recouped.
Compass Record for instance often negotiated a 10 song per CD maximum for
mechanicals which capped the mechanical expense at $0.85 per sold CD.
Recording artist royalties were not determined statutorily but were negotiated
between the artist and the record label and it based on the type of contract. At
Compass Record, the average recording artist royalty for an owned master
recording was $1.45 per unit sold whereas the royalty for a licensed recording was
around $1.75 per sold unit. Recording royalties were generally lower for produce and
own contacts because the record label was underwriting the expense of album
production.
Production and Manufacturing
The cost of producing the recording would depend on the size of the project, the
complexity of the recording and the label of perfection desired. Compass Records
incurred production cost that were significantly lower than the major labels and
even had an advantage over some other indie labels because Brown and West had
acquired a recording studio in May 2004. Compass Records might spend between
$15,000 and $25,000 to produce an album.
The manufacturing cost with included pressing the CD, Purchasing the standard
jewel case and others was about $0.70 per unit and $0.20 as an
Monetary Policy Essay
Monetary Policy
Monetary policy has some basic goals: to promote quot;maximum quot; sustainable
output and employment and to promote quot;stable quot; prices. The term
quot;monetary policy quot; refers to the actions undertaken by a central bank, such
as the Federal Reserve, to influence the availability and cost of money and credit to
help promote national economic goals. The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 gave the
Federal Reserve responsibility for setting monetary policy.
The Fed can not control inflation or influence output and employment directly;
instead, it affects them indirectly, mainly by raising or lowering a short term interest
rate called the quot;federal funds quot; rate. The Federal Reserve has certain tools at
its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using these tools, the Federal Reserve influences the demand for, and supply of,
balances that depository institutions hold at Federal Reserve Banks and in this way
alters the federal funds rate. The federal funds rate is the interest rate at which
depository institutions lend balances at the Federal Reserve to other depository
institutions overnight. The point of implementing policy through raising or lowering
interest rates is to affect people s and firms demand for goods and services. Changes
in the federal funds rate trigger a chain of events that affect other short term interest
rates, foreign exchange rates, long term interest rates, the amount of money and
credit, and, ultimately, a range of economic variables. This shows how policy actions
affect real interest rates, which in turn affect demand and ultimately output,
employment, and inflation.
Monetary policy can be quickly altered and can affect money supply and
investments very fast thus making speed and flexibility one of its strength. Members
of the Feds board are appointed a 14 year term. This isolates them from lobbying so
therefore no political pressure to contend with. The tight monetary policy helped the
economy succeed from 1980 thru to 1990 by bringing down the inflation rate.
Monetary policy is not all strengths there are weaknesses also associated

Comparing the Persuasive Techniques Used in Two Charity Fundraising Advertisements The hardest thing for any charity is to raise money. There is only one way to do this, that is to persuade people to part with their money and donate it to a good cause. The Bhopal Medical Appeal and Save The Children advertisements are two examples of this. Both of these advertisements come from The Observer a broadsheet newspaper. Consequently it is assumed that the target audience is those of a higher education and people who more likely to actually read the advertisement. Again, the Save The Children advertisement shows a use of adjectives, such as poorest, hardest, and generously make the reader ask themselves if they gave generously to the poorest and hardest working people in this world, maybe they could make a difference with their donation? Therefore adjectives tell the reader more about the situation, help the reader picture an image in their minds, and make the reader question themselves. Questions are also used in both advertisements. Rhetorical questions make the reader feel much more involved, as it is focused directly on the reader. Ten pence seems such a tiny amount, doesn t it? This is a rhetorical question that the Save The Children advertisement uses. This encourages the reader to believe that ten pence is a tiny amount. The Bhopal advertisement also uses rhetorical questions as a persuasive technique. After we are told how little the

In superimposing the alien infrastructure onto a shell of a natural environment, and thereby inverting the circumstance of the Strawberry Battlefield, the tone of the landscape changes to one of panic. The term separation of powers or trias politica was formed by Charles Louis de Secondat, baron de La BrГЁde et de Montesquieu, an 18th century French political and social philosopher. Spirit of the Laws is one of his publications and considered as one of the tremendous works in the history of and jurisprudence and, political theory; it inspired the Declaration of the Rights of the Constitution and Man and of the United States (Anderson, Gordon L.2004). One incident in particular seemed to set the tone of their marriage. On page 55, we see an example of Catherine s horrible temper and how it manifested itself through physical violence. Edgar, shocked at seeing his idol (p.55) commit such a deed, became very emotional and decided to leave. As we all know, he did not get very far before he came back. Because of its ongoing economic crisis, the country has reached a reality where, according to WFP (2016), Guatemala has not only the highest rate of malnutrition in Latin America, but also is considered the country with the fourth biggest rate of chronic malnutritionworldwide. This topic has an enormous relevance because as WFP (2016) mentions, the chronic malnutrition that kids from this country go though is what makes Guatemalabe one of the 36 countries in the world that form 90% of the worlds stunting. According to Unicef (2016), the percentage of children of five years or less that are considered to be underweight is for 4 in every 10. It is astonishing to realize that it is nearly half of the infant population in the entire country of Guatemala that is undernourished. In the following paragraphs it will be examined questions involving the relation that mothers have with the under nutritionof the children and if past generations can influence under nutrition. Furthermore, it will be examined what is traditionally given to kids at a daycare. Is there a correlation between the relationships that mothers have with their children s under nutrition at an early age? Can the current situation of malnutrition have been influenced by past generations? Under nutrition is not only considered to begin at an advanced age (5 years or more). The most important factor in both of these events is the common theme of reason behind the movements. The Great Awakening began about the 1930 s and reached its climax ten years later in 1740. What exactly was the Great Awakening? It was a wave of religion revivals sweeping through New England that increased conversions and church membership. However, a strong noble compass is needed to ensure scientific advancements do not cross moral ethics of life. Brave New World, written by Aldous Huxley, and the movie Gattaca, directed by Andrew Niccol, propose technologically advanced societies that challenge ethical and moral views. Although Brave New Worldand Gattaca relate in genetic discrimination, they differ in technology s powers and limits, as well as the resiliency of the human spirit. Both works emphasize genetic discrimination as a major part of their society. Brave New World uses technology to create a utopian society free from non conformity. Furthermore, it places individuals into separate levels of social class based on the perceived needs of the World State. These different classes provide a specific purpose. The protagonist, John, lives in the Savage Reservation outside of the World State. The Reservation is a dystopia, as it has a degenerated environment and individuals with no self control. John is relegated to the bottom of the social class due to his genetic identity and living style. If one s different, one s bound to be lonely (Huxley 145). Like John, Vincent in Gattaca also receives prejudice from the utopian society for his genetic composition. He is considered invalid due to his heart condition. Like Brave New World, Gattaca is a utopian environment created by technological advancements to limit possible error.

As a result of surfing, the California drought of the 1970s, and the film work and photography of Craig Stecyk, this once dead sport has risen from the dead for good. It all began in the early 1970s when Dogtown, located in Venice Beach, California was home to a secret surfingcove. This area was constantly populated by pyromaniacs, drug addicts, artists, and of course surfers , but most importantly the Zephyr surf team. When the California drought of the 1970s occurred, they made use of the architecture that was not being used. Seaside pools became more than just an empty unusable piece of land built underground, but a bowl for skaters to develop their innovation for the future of the sport (Hayes, 2005). Cultural Retention During The Middle Passage Delano Codner Professor Andrew Sachs Communication 300 18 October 2015 Cultural Retention in Jamaica Transport through the Middle Passage was a time of immense misery, suffering, and death for the millions of Africans who experienced it between the 1600s and 1800s. After arriving to Africa from Europe, slave traders violently kidnapped or bought African men, women, and children, for iron, cloths, and firearms. The Africans, most of whom were taken from Upper Guinea, Sierra Leone, Angola, the Gold Coast, which is now the nation of Ghana, and other West African countries knew nothing of their fate, leading some to commit suicide and starve themselves on the slave ships. Though there was a heavy loss of life during transport and upon arrival to the Americas and the Caribbean, at least 12 million Africans endured deadly conditions and began what is now called the African Diaspora. The Middle Passage had a great influence on many aspects of African culture due to the shared sense of pain and struggle that united the slaves and due to the ways they responded to oppression in the New World. Conditions of the Middle Passage contributed to the carving out of new cultural systems in New World slave plantation societies and resistance to slavery led to a retention of African cultures in many Caribbean countries that is still evident today. In this paper, I wish to argue that cultural and linguistic similarities between the people of Ghana and the people of Jamaica can be attributed

Instead of modeling the Nuremberg Trials from World War II, South Africa implemented Truth and Reconciliation Commissions (TRC). This process guarantees pardon for any confess crime associated with a political objective (Ruden 2). Desmond Tutu, the archbishop of the Anglican Church in South Africa, praises and advocates the TRC; whereas, Sarah Ruden, an American living in South Africa, criticizes the RTC process based on two main objective points. Ruden sees the RTC process as not enforcing the laws as well as not giving victims enough reparations. While Ruden does present logistical evidence in her negative assessment of the TRC process, Tutu presents a more convincing assessment of the TRC process since he disputes using a trial system, while also explaining why economically and socially the TRC process was a successful solution to the post apartheid society in South Africa. As S. invicta expanded its range out of urban centers and into various other habitats, concerns arose about the ability of the species to invade pristine systems and displace native ant species. Yet, research has found that S. invicta is less of a superior competitor and more of an opportunistic, disturbance specialist. For example, a study in southeast Texas by LeBrun et al. (2012) compared the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... invicta (Stiles and Jones 1998, Forys et al. 2002). In the Florida Keys in the late 80 s, the density of S. invicta was relatively low, as invasion had not yet occurred on every island (Porter 1992). By 2002 a study by Forys et al. found high densities primarily concentrated along roadways and in edge habitats in every Key. Furthermore, undisturbed sites were more likely to be occupied if they were within 50m of a road and within 150m of high densities of urban development. This indicates that the conditions within these sites of localized disturbance allow for persistence and eventual dispersal into undisturbed sites (Forys et al.
  • 46. The Issue of Transnational Aid Intervention The issue of transnational aid intervention has become a worldwide topic for debate regarding its role in ethics and legitimacy in international relations. Historically, international aid had been provided by developed worlds governments. However, aid provided by the developed world became problematic because of international treaties, violation of state sovereignty, and the spread of capitalist enterprises (Willetts). In addition to, many of the developing world leaders, consider the concept of aid intervention to be potentially threatening and an excuse for more powerful nations to undermine and threaten their state sovereignty through a change in the nations economic and social discourses (Willetts). In an attempt to counterbalance this predicament, institutions known as Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) were formed to emphasize humanitarian issues, developmental aid and sustainable development (Willetts). An NGO is defined as a citizen based association that operates independently of government, usually to deliver resources or serve some social or political purpose (Willetts 1). Currently, NGOs play a crucial role in providing mechanisms which enhance global human progress. To understand the work of NGOs one must know the history of humanitarian aid and developmental assistance. History of Humanitarian Aid and Developmental Assistance Humanitarian aid is defined as physical resources and or logistical assistance intended to save lives, alleviate suffering, and

Some of these accidents could have been prevented with the protection of a helmet in which many lives could have been saved. This document proposes a review of how a helmet can help a motorcyclist or passenger in an accident and why all states should require motorcyclists and passengers to wear helmets. The proposed review will discuss the physical and mental principles behind the causes of wearing and not wearing the helmet and what will change if the law is passed. Justification of Proposed Review Per mile driven, a motorcyclist is 16 times more likely to die in a crash than an automobile driver. Wearing a motorcycle helmetreduces that risk by almost one third (29

How The Blade Is Made Up Of Curved Watered Steel The Freer Dagger, called such because it resides in the collection of the Freer Gallery, is 38.0 cm long, and weighs approximately 500 gm with sheath. The blade is made up of curved watered steel that has been ribbed. The handle and sheath are similarly made of watered steel, that is applied to a wooden core. The watered steel has been chased and inlaid with gold. The handle and sheath are decorated with both raised and inlayed floral motifs, vegetal scrolls and calligraphy, precisely rendered, as if it were a page in an illuminated manuscript. The pommel of the handle has a seetting for a stone, which is now broken, though x ray diffraction analysis has identified the stone as having been a garnet.1 (DOES THIS PLAY A SIGNIFICANT ROLE?). The handles contains six cartouches with inscriptions in nastaliq script (three on each side). The first and second cartouches on each side consist of persian inscriptions against a floral/vegetal ground, while the center contains Koranic inscriptions in Arabic on a plain background. The sheath has a similar decorative layout to the handle. At the opening for the blade, there is an oval cartouche, with inscriptions. Along the length of the sheath are six cartouches, linked together, alternatiting between being filled with scrolls and inscriptions. The remaining areas are filled with gold inlaid vegetal and floral scrolls, with deer and birds. The center cartouche is now empty, having been scraped, and probably contained the name of the

On the first and last line, Asghar uses the same sentence, Today, I broke your solar system. Oops. My bad. Repeating the first line at the ending shows that the statement is important; it sets the tone or theme. As I interpreted the line, I notice that Asghar is being sarcastic about feeling bad for breaking your solar system. Yet, she doesn t care, she s tired of society s set of rules, just as Pluto doesn t care about ruining the solar system. Having this repeated at the intro and at the ending is a way for her to make sure that we understand this rebellious tone. As we continue

Questions of creation have been posed by man since the earliest times. How are we here upon this land? Is the world flat or round? How did this world get here, hanging in this vast open space? Man has always yearned to know all, to make sense of everything around us, and every culture has created their own creation mythology to explain the unknown. Christianity. One of the most well known creation stories in the world. The bible, set down approximately 3500 years ago, sells about 100 million copies a year. Christian bible states that the creator of the world was God, and God alone, through the book Genesis, in chapters 1 through 3. By speaking unto the immeasurable nothing covering his creation, let there be light, light was separated into darkness, thus creating the days. The second day he created the skies to separate it from the water on earth. Next, he created the land and the seas. The next day he made the land fruitful and filled it with vegetation. On the fourth, he made the seasons, the stars, the moon, and the sun. The fifth day, he created great creatures of the sea and winged ones to fly in the sky. On the sixth, he created wild animals and livestock according to their kinds. On that same day, he created

The term quot;monetary policy quot; refers to the actions undertaken by a central bank, such as the Federal Reserve, to influence the availability and cost of money and credit to help promote national economic goals. The Federal Reserve Act of 1913 gave the Federal Reserve responsibility for setting monetary policy. The Fed can not control inflation or influence output and employment directly; instead, it affects them indirectly, mainly by raising or lowering a short term interest rate called the quot;federal funds quot; rate. The Federal Reserve has certain tools at its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Using these tools, the Federal Reserve influences the demand for, and supply of, balances that depository institutions hold at Federal Reserve Banks and in this way alters the federal funds rate. The federal funds rate is the interest rate at which depository institutions lend balances at the Federal Reserve to other depository institutions overnight. The point of implementing policy through raising or lowering interest rates is to affect people s and firms demand for goods and services. Changes in the federal funds rate trigger a chain of events that affect other short term interest rates, foreign exchange rates, long term interest rates, the amount of money and credit, and, ultimately, a range of economic variables. This shows how policy actions affect real interest rates, which in turn affect demand and ultimately output, employment, and inflation. Monetary policy can be quickly altered and can affect money supply and investments very fast thus making speed and flexibility one of its strength. Members of the Feds board are appointed a 14 year term. This isolates them from lobbying so therefore no political pressure to contend with. The tight monetary policy helped the economy succeed from 1980 thru to 1990 by bringing down the inflation rate. Monetary policy is not all strengths there are weaknesses also associated
