This document discusses the benefits and challenges of involving service users and carers in the development of the Practice Learning Qualification (SS) framework in Scotland. Service users and carers provided input at various stages of development, including working groups, consultation, and approval panels. Their involvement presented both opportunities and challenges. Key challenges included determining whose agenda was being met, defining the nature of the relationship between developers and service users/carers, addressing issues of representation and individual needs, and ensuring proper resources and support for involvement.
