Do Fans Put Too Much Pressure In Sports
Do Fans Put Too Much Pressure on Their Favorite Professional Teams?
Have you ever thought about professional athletes having so much pressure on themselves? In
every sport fans put so much pressure on their teams to win. But what you don t see is how the
players feel about it. Fans put too much pressure on their sports teams, but this couldn t be a
problem if we make a solution. Fans can put so much stress on players of their favorite professional
teams. You might not even realize the impact you are making. During the regular season of any
sport is a long journey. But then when your team makes it into the playoffs or championship the
pressure gets even higher on those players. Is there ever really a time where fans should be
sending death threats to any athlete? Brandon Jacobs, a running back for the New York Giants, was
sidelined the Giants opening game this season with a hamstring injury. Because of this, he received
a death threat. (Bocchino) This is one of the best examples of how much pressure is on
professional athletes. Fans sending threats to make sure these players play good. After all these
athletes are humans just like everyone and should not be put in that situation. How should the
professional team respond to fans that put this pressure on their athletes? The best solution is to
give them a warning or to not let them come to their games anymore. It s the best way to be
professional about it and so the players don t get hurt from the situation. For

Lighttpd Web Server
Introduction
Lighttpd web server is a free, open source web server software that distributed with the Free BSD
operating system. It is easy to set up and it runs on Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and Solaris
operating system. It is fast, reliable, secure and flexible and it consume lesser CPU power. Lighttpd
is also an asynchronous server that runs as single process with a single thread and non blocking
input or output (I/O). Asynchronous server give the advantage of web applications that written in
any programming language to run on the Lighttpd server.
Lighttpd is also an ideal server for embedded system. As an example, Raspberry Pi, one of the
popular embedded system on the market is a good candidate for Lighttpd web server. ... Show more

In other system, it will be expensive operation in RAM usage and CPU load if starting a new
process or threads. In Lighttpd, expensive operation in RAM usage and CPU load will not
happen since Lighttpd does not need to start a new process or thread on per user or per
connection basis. Therefore, it is really light in RAM usage and CPU load. Lighttpd also normally
use the I/O bound rather than the CPU bound. This means that Lighttpd always serve static files
by speed of disk device or network interface instead of CPU speed.
Disadvantages
There also some disadvantages of Lighttpd web server. Lighttpd web server s design has faced
some problem when it comes to the hardware with large number of CPU cores (CPUs). This is
because Lighttpd only uses several threads and it will not gain too much from increasing more
CPUs. However, Lighttpd is really light and never bound by lack of CPU power. There is also
one weakness of the Lighttpd server which is Lighttpd buffer output from CGI server process in
internal buffers. This will leads to less RAM memory consumption. It is a weak design that using
Lighttpd to send iso sized files which obtained as data stream from the CGI process. This issue
may limit the use of Lighttpd web server. However, this issue not really cause any big problem in

Rachael Wandrey COURSE ASSIGNMENT DATE Treating the Psychological Effects of Complex
Trauma: Making a Case for Narrative Exposure Therapy Defining Complex Trauma Complex
trauma is a term that was established to differentiate traumas that occur repeatedly from traumas
that happen in only one instance (herein referred to as simple trauma ; Coutois, 2008). For instance,
complex trauma is typically referred to in the context of abusive childhoods wherein the child
experiences repeated traumatic events (e.g., physical or sexual abuse) over the course of their
childhood. Often the trauma will occur in parent child relationships leaving the victim under the
control of the perpetrator (Herman, 1992). However, complex trauma is not limited to family
violence, but can include other prolonged traumatic experiences, such as concentration camps and
torture (Williams, 2006). Some researchers have argued that victims of complex trauma experience
different psychological challenges than those who are victimized in one isolated incident (e.g.,
armed robbery). Coutois (2008) delineated seven problem areas that she believes are related to
repeated early interpersonal trauma (i.e., complex trauma): 1) alterations in the regulation of
affective impulses, 2) alterations in attention and consciousness, 3) alterations in self perception, 4)
alterations in perception of the perpetrator, 5) alterations in relationships to others, 6) somatization
and/or medical problems, 7) alterations in

but with the advent of computer games they have become even more interesting to teenagers. Based
on the presentation, the presenter should improve the presentation skill. Especially, eye contact
toward audience. This is because eye contact very important during the presentation. The eye

The Pros And Cons Of Animal Captivity
Captive animals are abused and exploited in a variety of settings, including research and product
testing, the entertainment industry, fur farms, and the exotic pet trade (Born Free USA). Zoos are
holding animals all around the world captive. Zoos are not letting them live in their natural habitats
and roam free. Captive animals are are not healthy and it s not good for the environment. For
example bornfreeusa.org states Every year, captive exotic animals are involved in incidents in
which humans are injured or even killed. Animalcaptivity should not be allowed. Captivity affects
animals mental health, they can t get enough exercise and food that they normally get, additionally,

It is referred to as a repetitive locomotion stereotype. During the progression of the behavior over
time, the intensity changes. When the animal initially begins the pacing, they may be easily
distracted by sights or sounds. However, after some period of time, the animal may appear in a
trance, unable to break their pace or gaze. This is what we so often see in zoos the apparent
detachment from their environment (Di Lamont). This fact is stating how captivity could affect
animals mental health very strongly. Also, Zoos, contrary to what many people believe, often
cause great suffering and stress to the captive animals. Animals in zoos are caged for life and
deprived of the opportunity to develop and fulfill the full range of their interests and needs. They
lose control over their lives and the environment they live in. Social animals are often forced to
live in the misery of solitary confinement. Animals who would prefer to live alone are often forced

The Bounty In the Bog In a barren wasteland in the olden times once lived a baron who ruled
over all the land. One day his wife went missing and being a somewhat barbaric ruler because he

out all his soldiers and hounds to search every house for his wife. After searching for days and not
finding a trace he put a wanted notice and a lump sum of money for someone to find his wife. To
his fortune a bounty hunterby the name of Geralt stumbled upon the notice while venturing through.

Social, Political And Economic Implications Of Money
Throughout the course of this semester, we have examined the role of money in our society and
have been introduced to scholars and economists that have offered rationale for the social, political
and economic implications of money. One overwhelming theme that has lingered throughout most
of the readings and lectures is the idea of inequality, particularly within the scope of the American
economy. While other economies such as China or India are labor based economies, I have found
that America s Capitalist economy is fueled by multiple facets racial inequality. The moral
argument against racial inequality under an economic lens is simple yet, expected; when we deny
opportunities for people of color in the same way we have them established... Show more content on

Black men are being denied the chance of a full life with all of the rights; privileges and
opportunities of white men and similarly, the families/communities from which they come from
are also at a significant disadvantage. A National Bureau of Research study found that Black
families between 2004 2008 were 54% more likely to be charged higher on their mortgage rates
than white families. This fact alone drives two main issues I will explore in this paper: the
implications of socioeconomics and how inequality drives the American economy through the lens
of mortgage lending.
One theorist I will use to explore these ideas of inequality is John Maynard Keynes. Keynes
argued that capitalism is a mere congery of possessors and pursuers (Keynes 60) and he also
asserted that economic output is only based on the aggregate demand . Between 2004 2008, when
Black families were getting charged higher interest rates on their homes than white families with
similar incomes, large banks were pocketing millions of extra dollars from these families as many
of the rates today would have been considered sub prime rates .
This predatory act placed against people of color encouraged classism and as a result led to
negative socioeconomic outcomes moreover, the notion of white

Energy Deregulation Essay
What is energy deregulation? Energy deregulation is the breakup of the utility monopoly in 35
states. Currently only 11 states allow full deregulation which allows consumers and businesses to
choose their own electricity and gas providers. Energy deregulation is very similar to the AT T
divestiture back in 1984. Consumers businesses were bound to AT T for their local and long
distance services regardless of cost. The break up of AT T to Bell companies allow consumers to
choose providers such as MCI, Sprint, and other telecommunication companies which allowed
increased competition. Energy deregulation will do the same; however the PUC (Public Utilities
Commission) of each given state is cautious of the breakup to prevent another Enron catastrophe.
Also consumers need to make sure what agreement they sign as contracts are usually determined by
fixed and variable rates. Also do not confuse energy deregulation with alternative energy or
renewable energy, energy deregulation simply means shopping for electricity gas services through
the open market.
Energy deregulation has been adopted by many states over the past several years as a way to allow
for multiple energy providers to compete for customers based on price and a higher level of
customer service, break the utility monopoly into separate companies or business unit that separate

The Book of Job
The Book of Job has been praised but also neglected all at the same time. Its literary work is written
in a poetry sense with a prose format and considered one of the greatest pieces of literature of all
time. The Book of Job is one of first book of five generally called The Books of Poetry , which
contain Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Solomon. The Book of Job is written in
the Old Testament of the Hebrew Bible and the main theme that is seeks out is Why does God
allow the righteous to suffer? First of all I will be talking about the origins and history of the
book, and then I will give a brief summary on the story and theme of what the Book of Job is

They then say that God is just and that his sons and daughters had died because of their own
sins. Then God appears before Job and curses him asking why he was not there when he created
the world or why he isn t omnipotent. God goes on about how Job dares question God s power,
wisdom and decisions. God continues to pound him with questions and Job apologizes for
questioning God and finally repents to God. God then addresses Job s three friends and tells
them that they have angered God and they have to offer seven bulls and seven rams to clear
their wrongdoings against God. After all the repenting and prayers, God then gives back all of
Job s losses, blessing him with twice the number of livestock he had before and blessing Job with
seven sons and three daughters. Job goes on to live joyously for another 140 years before dying.
The prologue of the book, set in prose style, is made up of chapters one and two with the
introduction of Job and his family and how successful he is and that he is blessed by God
wonderfully. It goes into Job s first test which Satan presents himself before the lord. God said to
Satan, Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless
and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil (Job 1:8). This is when Satan puts up the
challenge for God saying, Does Job fear God for nothing? Have you not put a hedge around him

without damaging the brain, and as the name suggests, the patient is sedated but very much awake.
Procedures such as these are nothing short of remarkable, and as science and medicine continue to

The research that is being conducted focuses largely on the electrical and chemical interactions
and relationships within organisms. The magnitude of the negative charges of cells are
identified with an in vivo dye which causes more negative areas to glow more brightly. What has
been found is that more negative areas in frogs essentially plot where certain features, in one
case the eyes, are going to develop. By manipulating an area on the tail slightly more negative,
the frog developed with an eye on its tail. Such a small alteration had such a significant outcome
on the frog, which is an indication of how powerful this research is. Chemical modification was
also found to strongly influence the developing embryos when a frog embryo was treated with
Prilosec, a stomach acid relief drug, which caused craniofacial defects as well as causing the
organs to develop on opposite sides of the body. Prilosec interfered with the movement of the ion
set, potassium and hydrogen, which was enough to impact patterning in the developing frog,
resulting in defects. Research in the field has also been applied to try and improve severed spinal
cords. In these tests, the movement of nerves was controlled by introducing a charge difference
across the break in the spine. This caused nerves to move towards the charge and from here they
were able to heal. Although it was found that the nerves couldn t move past the scar tissue, the
experiment indicated that these techniques have to potential to be effectively applied to developed
individuals, which could mean a chance at recovery for those living with spinal

CAPITALISM !1
It has been around since the Middle Ages, that we know of, and most likely before that.
It is usually the first type of economy before evolving into another kind. Its main sources of life
are competition and an ever changing society. This almost living breathing creature of our own
device is called capitalism. Capitalism has been the biggest form of economy in the United
States and now throughout the world. Prosperity is usually following right behind because of all
the money produced, people employed, growth occurring, and overall well being a society
experiences. Although great, capitalism has its down falls, like monopolies. We as an American
society trust that the government will monitor, not just monopolies, but the other areas neglected
by capitalism. Although the government has done a great job, they have, in a way, over stepped
their bounds and have been slowly putting their hands on the throat of the beast we call capitalism.
America should promote capitalism and not restrict it. With competition from other forms of
government and countries, America needs all the help it can get to remain a world power. First,
the rise of capitalism is astounding and mesmerizing. Second, the reasons why capitalism is so
beneficial and a boon to society. Third, how restrictions, spending, and taxes are making a

Self Immolation Essay
On the 11th of June, 1963, a monk named ThГch QuбєЈng Дђб»©c burned himself alive on a busy
Vietnamese intersection. An action that, in five months time, led to the assassination of the
Buddhist opposing president of the Republic of Vietnam. Self immolation, a form of protest in
which one sacrifices themselves, usually with fire, has returned, and has brought with it a multitude
of issues.
First, a bit of history, although the death of ThГch QuбєЈng Дђб»©c was the first documented case
of self immolation as a form of protest, the concept of burning oneself alive has existed for much
longer. The Ritual of Sati refers to an old and now illegal practice in which a widowed Hindu
woman would throw herself upon the funeral pyre of her husband. The grotesque tradition
originated from the myth of Sati, a Hindu goddess who set herself on fire in retaliation to her
husband s humiliation at the hands of her own father. The first documented case of the ritual can be
traced to Madhya Pradesh, where a commemorative monument was erected in 510 CCE. While self
immolation, in this context, developed into a sexist method of sacrifice, the religious origin
expressed it as an act of rebellion.
Buddhism also has strong connections with self immolation, there are many legends of monks
who sacrificed their own bodies for others. In the tale of The Hungry Tigress , a previous
incarnation of Buddha comes across a starving lion who is going to eat her cubs. The tale
describes how Buddha sacrifices his own

Essay On Sexism In The Media
It s plain and simple, women need to be treated fairly in the media.
In a large portion of history, women were treated as property and owned by men. The beauty a
woman possessed was considered far more valuable than her character. Even today, this plays a
role in the media. A common theme in media exists where women are criticized and over
analyzed based purely on their appearance, just as they were generations ago. This has lead to an
over sexualization of females and proposes that women are only man s tool. Being valued so
poorly by a society has driven sexist treatment. The pressure put on girls from a young age to appear
a particular way is something that impacts them throughout their adulthood. You can thank the
media for that. As a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On Fox News Eric Erickson claimed that it s basically wrong to have stay at home fathers as
opposed to stay at home mothers. He shared that he thinks it s only the woman s role to take care of
children. As he is stuck in his shallow opinions, it was relieving to have Megyn Kelly step in and
disagree with what he was saying. Although there s not always someone to argue against the
misogynist comments one may make. Comments of such shouldn t even be being made in the first
place. Women and girls deserve to be viewed as equals by the media. Of course, some people
would deny that discrimination against women exists. A recent statistic shows that more than half of
men think sexism no longer exists ( McClatchyDC). On top of that, about 34% of women claim
the same (McClatchyDC). The idea is that since technically women are being paid equally that
means equality. While money isn t everything and actions are. Treating women in media as
objects and invalidating them as people counts as sexism in my books. It s difficult to believe that
someone doesn t see the degrading factors forced upon women on a daily basis, no matter if it s a
degrading advertisement or a comment a work colleague made, discrimination against women still

The annotated diagram below illustrates the factors relevant for Haier in India and overlaps are
observed. For example: although the threat heavy tax burden at multiple levels is identified as
economic factor, it is also relevant to be political or legal factor. Opportunities identified by
economic (e.g. low penetration electronic products) and sociological factors (e.g. more nuclear
families) lead to likelihood of increased demands for Haier s products. The threat highlighted by
the political factor (unavailability of suitable road infrastructure to rural India) is challenging to
counter involving government bodies and of high cost. It is not clear from the case study why the
Indian government is delaying infrastructure projects although the economic and sociological
factors indicate growth (e.g. 8.3% growth in GDP, more nuclear families, rising disposable
income) generating more revenues. Applying Johnson s test of suitability, none of the strategies
outlined above (Section 3.1) overcome this threat. The inverted duty structure is another threat
Haier need to respond to since it results in inflated prices for goods. The localisation strategy
seems to counter this (applying feasibility test) although it is not clear if Haier s strategy goes as

Religious Tolerance In The American Colonies
Religious Tolerance
In the year 1776, the American Colonies drafted the Declaration of Independence. This document
symbolized freedom from Great Britain. According to Essentials of American Government Roots
and Reform, Englishmen and other Europeans left home seeking to enhance their fortunes. With
them came a host of laborers who hoped to find their own opportunities for riches [in the
American colonies] (O Connor, Sabato, and Yanus 6). As the colonies grew in size and stability,
an influx of Englishmen came to America for a variety of incentives. Two of these incentives

This argument is based on information found on oyez.org. In 1963 a federal program, Higher
Education Facilities, created grants for educational institutions. These institutions were sponsored
by local churches. The grant specifically said the new buildings could have no religious
associations for twenty years. After the twenty year period, the building could be used for any
purpose the church needed it to. The grant attempted to neutralize the moral background that may
influence the college students in the new building. In 1970 a law suit was filed. The sponsors
believed if they were sponsoring these educational institutions, they should be able to use the
building for religious reasons. In 1971 the court decided the twenty year wait for the building to be
able to be used for any recreational purpose was unconstitutional. The court argued grants are
considered federal aid; therefore, the federal government has no right to intervene with religious
purpose. The first amendment claims the federal government cannot deny anyone of practicing
religion anywhere including in a granted building. The court also said since the money was not
used to fund religious activity the building was like any other building. The court believed college
students would be able to decide with their own opinions on rather to attend these church services.
The services were not mandatory to attend. Also, the court decided the period

Business Opening
Opening up a business may be one of the hardest things one can do. There is a great amount of
effort that goes into creating a business and even greater effort to make it successful. Before
opening a business, owners are obligated to keep fresh, open ideas, have good management, and
being able to financially sustain their business. Even this may not be enough to create a striving,
successful business. There are many factors that go into whether a business is successful or a failure.
One of the main reasons why small businesses fail is because of the owners/entrepreneurs
themselves. This mainly goes for poor management skills that bring businesses to their demise.

Compare Hinduism And Hinduism
Buddhism and Hinduism are two popular religions that were found in India. It is commonly
thought that Buddhism and Hinduism are very similar religions, some may even think they are
the same. This thought comes up for many reasons including their spiritual practices, place of
origin, and the problem they believe life has. To many, it would be a surprise to learn how
different these two religions truly are from one another regardless of how much they resemble
each other. Hindus tend to see the world in a you get what you give type of way. They believe
that every action one makes will affect their future in one way or another. Samsara is the
continuous cycle of life, death, and reincarnation. If one acts good, they will in turn get good
karma, leading to a better next life. If one behaves badly on the other hand, they will obtain bad
karma which will lead to suffering in the next incarnation. Hindus believe a person can be born
in different varieties, in each variety ones soul or atman is kept but the body in which they are in
can change. The atman can form into a human or any other living creature mainly depending on
its karma. Each variety is another chance for their atman to attain good karma. Hindus also
believe in the caste system, each caste has its own duties, or dharma . One must fulfill these duties
and maintain good karma in order to work their way up the caste. The higher up in the caste system

system of budget execution or cash planning (the subjects of Sections 4 and 5) can do more than
mitigate the problems caused by poor quality or unrealistic budget preparation.
To understand the budget preparation process in a given country, it is important to: * assess the
basic soundness by judging the budget preparation system against certain internationally accepted
standards or budget principles ; * know where to find the rules governing the budget preparation
process; and * from those rules, identify who has the responsibility for what elements of the budget

Based on the objective macroeconomic assessment of available revenues and financing, ideally, the
expenditure budget should aim to be comprehensive, transparent, realistic, policy oriented, and
allow for clear accountability in budget execution. These concepts form a standard by which the

Apocalypse Now, Apocalypse Forever
Francis Ford Coppola s magnum opus Apocalypse Now was ladened with problems and

do with the script, to those dealing in direct regard to the very sanity of all of those involved with
Apocalypse Now. Despite the myriad of problems that contributed to this acclaimed film s failure,
Apocalypse Now still became a success in its own right, and a true classic by any director s

He chose to set a feel for his scenes unknown , then have the actors improvise what was going to

should do in different situations (Behr). This caused an effect of the script writing itself, as well as
creating a deeper rift between it and the source material. Marlon Brando, who portrayed Kurtz, fed
the fire of deep confusion where the script was concerned. Both Heart of Darkness, and Milius
original script, as well as Coppola s later interpretation of these, called for the character of Kurtz
to be a frail, sickly, and dying man. Brando, however, refused to get into shape as Coppola had
requested. Brando was in fact so fat during filming that he was shy about it (Behr). Coppola first
suggested that he rewrite the script to accommodate the character to Brando by setting him up as
a gluttonous, man consumed by his own evil excesses (Behr). Brando refused to be undignified
in his portrayal, so the filming, as well as the writing remained stagnant for days on end. In the
end Coppola merely set Brando and Sheen free to improvise for three weeks, leaving him with an
incoherent batch of footage that, with the exception of the death lines of The Horror! The Horror!
(Conrad) had little to do with the script, or the novel. Time and money

Working out can appeal to many different types of people. Various individuals have different

observations I have determined there to be three different general types of people that spend
time in the gym. Those types are: The Muscle Heads, the Average Joes and the Socials. The
muscle heads are people that I imagine would actually live in the gym if allowed. You can

That brings us to our third group of people, The Socials. The Socials can be the most interesting
group to observe. They can be found anywhere in the gym, on just about any piece of equipment
and sometimes just loitering around the small tables or benches huddled in the corner. This type
of individual is easy to pick out because they are never alone and rarely have a bead of sweat on

muscles. They have been given their nickname because of the activity they partake in; socializing.
This group of people can even temporarily lure in individuals from other gym groups. If a cluster of

External Influences Of Operations Management
Evaluate the Response of Operations Management to External Influences
Operations Management
Operations Management in an organisation is repsonsible for managing and in making decisions
concerning the activities that convert inputs into outputs , that is goods and services. This covers
both short term actvities as well as longer term activities to meet strategic goals. Inputs can be the
raw materaials need to manufacture goods such as furniture or the computers needed to create a
service like online shopping site. Operation management s role is to make decisions to improve how
operation activities function, for example, to improve the final quality of the output or to change
production methods to be more efficient in terms of cost and in time.
The role of operations management is vital in planning and managing the way that inputs for the
business are transformed. Ultimately, operations management is trying to achieve a competitive
advantage for their organisation through improved efficiencies, product quality, reduction of cost
and product differentiation.
Figure 1 Operations Management is key in the transformation process
External Influences
All businesses are affected by a series of external forces or influences. These influences may also
change over time and hence the way they interreact with an organisation can also change.
Operations Management will use a variery of measurements to monitor external influences to help
them respond to these changes, for example, at times of slow hire rates for employees in time of
high employment, operation Management may re train other internal staff to make up shortfalls
[Kydos, P29].
External influences cover a wide variety of factors, and their influence can differ between business
types. These include the following:
Globalisation
Technology
Customer quality expectations
Legal Regulations
Government Policies
Environment sustainability
Cost based competition
Corporate social responsibility
Quality Expectations
Some examples of external influences are now examined in detail.
Globalisation
Globalisation is the growth and integration between the economies in different countries for
movement of goods and services. Globalisation

The Napoleonic Er The Causes Of The Napoleonic Era
The Napoleonic Era can be said to have begun with the Coup of 18 Brumaire, which overthrew the
Directory (and is often believed to have brought the French Revolution to a close), and established
the French Consulate, along with the appointment of Napoleon as First Consul in the winter of
1779. Preceding this time, the French were fighting a loosing battle against the Ottomans
throughout Egypt, Greater Syria, and the Levant. Once Napoleon became the de facto ruler of
France, he began massive reforms. The spread of citizens rights into law began, representative
assembly took hold, religious toleration became the norm, the country was re organized into
departments, and the metric system was invented. Upon becoming First Consul, Napoleon

What Happens To A Dream Deferred By Langston Hughes Essay
During the Harlem Renaissance, many look towards big cities to pursue their dreams. Langston
Hughes, a famous poet, knew how important dreams were and he saw dreams crumble during his
times. Dreams are a big deal in life because people set dreams to give themselves hope. When
their dreams crumble, their spirits die as well because they have nothing else to strive for. In
Harlem, Hughes uses vivid imagery and similes to illustrate how dreams deferred upset and defeat
the human spirit inside one s self. Hughes starts his poem with the rhetorical question what happens
to a dream deferred (line 5)? He then offers a series of responses towards the question, to remind
the world how important dreams are to the human spirit. In each response, Hughes... Show more

The mention of the raisin in the sun (line 3) makes the reader picture a dry shriveled raisin lying
in the sun. After that Hughes states whether a denied dream fester like a sore (line 4). Here the

Hughes then asks if dreams stink like rotten meat (line 6). This description makes the readers
sense the rotten smell of meat, which is not a pleasant smell. Next he says dreams are a heavy
load (line10). This image makes one think of a person carrying hard work by themselves,
without anybody s help. They are so exhausted that they drop the load and put it away for now.
People tend to put their dreams away and once their put away it s hard to pick them back up.
They tend to not have the same drive or momentum they had once before. To conclude this poem,
Hughes ask the final question whether a dream just explode (line 11). This is a very strong and
bold word to compare a dream to because explode means the end. This verb makes the readers
picture and hear the sound of a bomb exploding. This is the final step of a dream crumbling because
once one have gone through so much, they can no longer contain themselves. This leaves their
human spirit empty and

From the figures in the painting, you can see sunbathers, soldiers, men in top hats, women with
parasols, dogs, and a monkey. According to an article, it states that a monkey in French (and
female) is known as singesse, denoting a prostitute. The smartly dressed woman is fishing but for
what ( Seurat s Grande Jatte , n.d.). I found this interesting because when I first saw this painting, I
first assumed it was just a regular painting of wealthy citizens relaxing and did not suspect
anything of the monkey strangely being present. The women on the right is holding a leash to the
monkey which many critics suspect that Seurat is trying to say through symbolism that this
woman is a prostitute who is out for a stroll with her client and that she is fishing for more. On the
left of the photo, you see a woman dressed in orange fishing by the water, which seems innocent.
According to an online dictionary, the French word for fish is pГЄcher , which some believe is a

References to prostitution used the words pГЄche (fishing) and pГ©chГ© (sin) a lot in French
cartoons. The artist may be hinting that they are both prostitutes and demonstrates the art piece s
satirical nature. Not only are they suspect prostitutes, but they may have been proletarian women
that have become superficially bourgeois through prostitution. Seurat adds another perspective to
the comparison of the proletariat and the bourgeoisie, hinting the superficiality and immorality

Marco Polo s Travels Over The Maritime Route
Introduction Thirteenth century Europe was marked by a period curiosity of life outside the
western world. Little was known of the cultures in Asia and Southeast Asia. This changed when
Venetian trader and explorer, Marco Polo published his travelogue accounting for his voyages in

should not be arranged for reasons of money, religion, or reputation because physical and mental
abuse are common, the freedom that people are granted is limited by denying the pursuit of

Reducing The Wage Gap Between Men And Women
According to the Center for American Progress Organization there are seven vital steps that can be
taken in order to decrease the gender wage gap. Firstly, this organization firmly believes that raising
the minimum wage will positively affect the wage gap between men and women. Averages
illustrate that differentiation s among men and women s job selections could be considered for
virtually half of the genderpay gap. Increasing the minimum wagewill benefit those dedicated
women laborers by helping support their families. Two third of mothers are sole providers
within their households and these same women are the ones, who made up relatively two thirds
of all minimum salaried employees in the year 2012 (Glynn, Fisher Baxter, 2014). In 2014, the
minimum wage was only $7.25 an hour which means that a person, who works full time would
only bring in $15,080 over the course of a year. This is not enough for an individual, who has a
family to live on because in actuality it is barely enough for a single person to survive on. This
particular organization feels if the minimum wage is increased to at least $10.10 an hour, then it
would benefit around 15 millions women and also help narrow the pay gap that exists between
men and women. Secondly, the Center for American Progress Organization believes that
increasing the tipped minimum salary would close the gender pay gap, as well. The minimum tip
wage has not been altered since the year 1991 and it only rewards employees $2.13 a

Child Labor And Slavery
Child Labor and Slavery Very Rough Draft
Each year, as many as 2.7 million healthy years of life are lost due to child labor. Imagine that
You are being held as a slave and forced to do dangerous labor as a child. Many people are being
held captive and or being forced to do perilous things sweating their lives away, not taking breaks,
and being put in adult like situations. In fact right now there are 15 20 million children working as
slaves. Although it provides children and families with money, and possibly something to learn
from, children should not be enslaved or forced to do labor because it is very dangerous and can
damage a child for the rest of their life.
The employment of a child is most often very dangerous. Not only do children get diseases and
illnesses, while working many children get a drug addiction. Kids get addicted to drugs because
they are either forced or think that it will make their lives easier. In some opinions this can be
true because their lives are so bad they want to kill themselves which drugs can do. Some
children are kidnapped into child laborers and kept as a slave. Lots of parents send their children
off to work everyday for extra money. While this happens the place/person may kidnap them and
keep them as slaves. When children walk by themselves they also get kidnapped and forced into
labor or may get killed for money. Many children are dying from working. 22,000 children a year
die from labor. There are many, many causes from this such

My Favorite Cartoon Essay
Oh how I remember the days where I would wake up at 8am to watch my favorite cartoon shows.
I would eat my breakfast in front of the tv and watch the new episodes that would air. Whether it
be the classics like Tom and Jerry or Looney Tunes, or some new shows like Foster s Home for
Imaginary friends or the PowerPuff Girls. Watching these cartoons brought me solace and joy. It
would bring me to its world of wonder and spectre.
To this day, these shows have taught me many values and morals that I follow and helped shape
me into a better person. It made me think that I would like to give that same feeling to another
person. In that moment, I decide that I wanted to do the same thing and create cartoon shows that

Once they saw the picture, they stood there speechless just looking at me and the drawing. When
they finally said something. They said that it was meh. I was once again devastated by what they
had said. This time I was sure that I had gotten them to change their minds. I actually thought that
this would be the one to shut them down. So, I went back to the drawing boards and wondered
about what it was that I had messed up on. I sat there looking down at the drawing, when I
noticed that it looked like it had been rushed. It was covered with curved and out of sync lines.
The eraser marks made the picture look all dark and muddy with all of the smudges that they had
left. I finally realized what was so wrong with my draws. I had rushed all of them.
At this point, I didn t know what to do. I had hit a roadblock with nowhere to turn. I felt like my
dreams were over and that I would never be able to animate my ideas. The next couple of months
I spent my time on other things as I looked for a new pasion. But, none could fill the emptiness of
drawing. The joys of sending your ideas down the pencil expressway to its stop at paperway
station. It felt amazing and nothing could replace that feeling for me. So, I thought that I would
give it another go and this time I would take my time.
Once again I was back at it, only this time I would be rolling down a snail s pace and drawing with
ease. After every correction, I would wipe off the eraser

The Role for NATO in the Modern World Essay
The Possibility of a Role for NATO in International Relations
When NATO was founded in 1949, it had a clearly defined role. It was an alliance for collective
security against the USSR and the Warsaw Pact, whereby if one member state was attacked, the
rest would come to her aid under article 5. Since the fall of the Soviet Union and the end of the
Cold War, however, the role of NATOhas become a great deal less clearly defined, since its
members no longer really have any need for a defensive alliance. Indeed, operations such as those
in Bosnia and Kosovo have suggested that for from being a defensive alliance, NATO may have
some kind of future as an offensive alliance. There are also now doubts, ... Show more content on

This resulted in the Dayton Ohio Accords, which received peace in the region, and with NATO
upheld with 20,000 soldiers who were deployed to the area. This was a great success that
arguably wouldn t have been possible without the intervention of a multilateral organisation such
as NATO which, unlike the UN, could feasibly have an offensive mandate. Indeed, it essentially
marked the rebirth of NATO as an offensive organisation, and it was the first time that NATO
forces had been used in an aggressive manner. This has led to numerous cases of a similar nature.
For instance, in 1999 in Kosovo, when it became widely feared that the Serbian government was
beginning to initiate policies of ethnic cleansing and possible even genocide in its province of
Kosovo, NATO intervened once again. By early 1999 it had become clear, as the Organisation for
Security and Co operation in Europe (OSCE) pointed out, that the only way to stop what would
have resulted in a human refugee catastrophe, was through military action. NATO therefore
launched a 78 day air campaign that succeeded in forcing the Serbian government to comply with
the demands of

The Differences Of Mythology
Mythology
Mythology is word derived from Greek mythos (means story of people) and logos means (the
spoken story of people). It is the study of sacred tales of culture which we called Myths . Myths
are supposed to be real stories and they are usually observed as truthful explanations of history.
Myths passed from one generation to other and can be grown to take several versions and diverse
stories. The ultimate characters in mythology are mostly considered supernatural beings like gods
and goddesses. Over these unseen characters there is a visible effort to describe the evolution and
the mysteries of the cosmos. Some might accept an indifferent attitude towards myths and reject
them any truth value, while others might be generous and consensus some cognitive value to them.

In earlier times the purpose of myth is to provide the truth to society for the people to understand it

science the purpose of philosophy is to logically providing the truth to people with the possibility to

This is the study done by Apple et al, whose aim was to determine if an increased troponin was

troponin i in ESRD patients. It is the largest study done till date on ESRD patients showing the

The comparison was between survival rates of the patients with raised and normal
concentrations of troponin. Cox proportional hazard was used to determine the relative risk of
death both adjusted and unadjusted and 95% confidence intervals. Kaplan Meir method was
used to compute survival curves. After that summarisation if clinical data was done 733 patients.
It was founded that majority of patients had increased troponin t as compared to troponin i
irrespective of the cut off criteria used. Again regardless of the cut off criteria used one, two and
three year combined mortality rates were higher in patients with raised troponin t compared
patients having normal levels. Unadjusted for other risk factors for mortality, Regardless of the
duration of follow up, an increase of 2 5 times in risk of death was noted with raised troponin t
and 2 times with raised troponin i. Age, history of CAD, time since dialysis were identified as
independent risk factors according to the data. Whereas sex, diabetes, and history of myocardial
infarction were not found to be predictive independently. It was also found out that there are
increase mortality rates with mild, moderate and larger increases in troponin t. Based on pre
dialysis troponin t and troponin i concentrations this was the first study to determine short and long
term survival in ESRD patients. This also found causes for more elevations of troponin t as

San Diego Comic-Con
In the last couple of year, entertainment thought to be niche started to seep its way into pop
culture. One main testament to this is the San Diego Comic Con (SDCC), which has thousands
of fans in attendance every year. My first Con I attended was this one, in the summer of 2013,
and it was an amazing experience. It showed the devotion and love many fans had for franchises
they cared for. On the other hand, it also demonstrated hype culture and how big studios can
have an effect on art and culture. No matter how you look at it, Comic con has become a major
player in mass media, but what exactly is Comic con, and what is its cultural significance? San
Diego Comic con was founded in 1970, and starting in 2010, reached its capacity limit of 130,000
people in attendance. Likewise, the con has expanded to areas outside of... Show more content on

four days that you will not be able to attend all the events you would like to. This problem of
missing out is greatly exasperated with long lines that require you to wait hours ahead of
schedule for a chance to enter a panel. This only happens with a select number of panels, but one
particularly infamous hall known throughout the convention was Hall H. This particular room
has a reputation of having people camp outside a day before the start of the first panel so that
they can be able to get inside. This was because Hall H had panels involving big name movies or
shows, and usually showed never before seen trailers and new news about upcoming work. I have
had firsthand experience by waiting four to five hours for another room called the Indigo Room
and in the end missing out on what I was waiting

The Importance Of Mandatory Spending In The United States
Imagine this. You re sitting at your dining table with your dog chewing on the fabric of the chair

can get the poor guy some food and feed yourself as well. It turns out that this weeks check will
be more than enough. You go to work the next day and on your way home you receive an email
saying that your check has just been deposited into your bank account. You go to look at your
bank account and you see that got paid way less than you thought it would be. You freak out and

Mandatory spending is the portion of money that goes mostly to health care and social security. In
2015, the total Mandatory spending was $2.45 which almost 49% ($1.25 trillion) of it went to
social security, 38%($985.7 billion) went to Medicare Health, 5%($122.6 billion) went to Food
Agriculture, 4%($95.3 billion) went to Veterans Benefits, 2%($58.7 billion) went to
Transportation, and 2%($58.2 billion) went to others. Interest on debt is the interest payments that
the government makes to collect money for the debt the we are in. In 2015, 65% of taxes went
to Mandatory Spending, 29% went to Discretionary Spending, and 6% went to Interest on Debt.
Now that we have numbers stated and many facts to back up my rant about tax and how it is
divided. No for every dollar, they give science 1.1Вў and Environment Energy 1.6Вў while giving
the pentagon 25.4Вў. The government is caring more about the military than about the environment

The Health of College Students
Rob Geis, a current college student, explains, A student is not at fault for unwanted weight gain.
It is the college meal plans that cause the gain in weight. Many colleges require incoming
freshmen to be on a meal plan (Geis). Parents like the meal plans because they know their child
is getting meals every day, but the plan does have its downsides. Geis believes that many
students do not eat three meals every day. If we don t eat every meal we are given, we are
wasting our money which was used to buy the meal plan. So, it is either gain weight or waste
money (Geis). This may cause the family of the studentto get upset. The parents may reduce the
student s meal plan for the next year, which would make the student eat less.... Show more content

A family sending a student to college may expect good grades from the student. If a student s grade
is going down, a family might check up on the student. When the family checks on the student, the
family may find something wrong with the child. The family will try and help, but the student may
refuse, thinking that he or she is fine. This could cause embarrassment in the student and make his
or her situation worse. There are many ways to stay healthy on campus. To begin with, the
American College Health and Association states that The top five threats to academic
performance are stress; a cold, flu or sore throat; sleep difficulties; concerns for friends or
family; and depression (qtd. in Dineley). When a student s grade drops from any of the five
threats, his or her future can be affected. A student s career can depend on his or her grades and
health. Dineley tells the first way to stay healthy is to get plenty of rest. Many students get too
little of sleep, which causes illness ( College ) . A student with an illness could miss class.
Besides missing class, a student will have less time to study and learn. The second way to stay
healthy according to Dineley is to exercise more often. However, many students do not have
enough time to exercise; especially dealing with the stress of college ( College ). A student s top
priority might be his or her grades. If a student slacks on exercising, his or her physical health may
deplete rapidly. Ultimately, a

The Political Sins Of John Stewart By Robert Hariman
Cynicism as most of you know is the manipulation of the greater public to pursue one s interests.
Another definition of it is that it is the enlightenment of the majority of which in regards to the
right work done, income might be acquired. The notion of personal interest varies among different
people but is argued to be the core of cynicism. This paper is going to oppose accusations about
cynicism on John Stewart basing its arguments on; the critical forum in defence of John Stewart by
Robert Hariman and the critical conference on the political sins of John Stewart by Roderick P.
Hart and E. Johanna Hartelius.

The gaps are derived from the Constitution itself, on the freedom of speech. Everybody reserves a
right to make comments on matters of state provided they do not infringe on the rights of another.
The defence argues that the prosecution fails to see the humorous techniques of the Daily show
(Hariman, 274). The above statement is true as the failure of one man to recognize the joke in a
statement should not be the reason to convict someone for committing political heresy. In the 21st
century the year of accusation of John Stewart, people exercise the freedom of speech. As such
there is the emergence of various channels through which people can air their opinions like social
media forums, blogs upon which similar messages and jokes are passed. Does it mean that we are
going to jail every individual that engages in constructive criticism on political matters on various
communication forums?
Addressing the issue on the media of transfer of the said political heresy is of vital importance.
This is because it helps draw the line between a democratic society with freedom of speech and an
anarchy society where words are restricted to only those that please the powers that be. The
defence agrees with the above statement when it argues whether we will find contentment in the
prosecution s idea of public life (Hariman, 274). In my opinion, I feel the defendant expresses a
more concrete argument in defence of John Stewart laying facts wide open and appealing to the

Designer Paper: Viktor and Rolf and Elie Saab
Viktor and Rolf are an inseparable duo in the fashion world and I was in awe the moment I saw
their work. I was planing on researching only one side of the duo for Haute couture but all the
information on them is in sync. When in Arnhem, The Netherlands in 1992 Viktor Horsting and
Rolf Snoeren graduated from ArtEZ institute and started their journey together(Heritage, 2015).
After graduating The duo worked hard to develop their first line that premiered in 1993 (Heritage,

Haute couture show in 1998 (Heritage, 2015).

The dutch men have collaborated with Loreal to create a scent for the brand labeled Flowerbomb.
Then also partnered with H M. The men have also created fashion eyewear and a shoe line. With
the build up of their brand the duo has recently announced some huge news.
Viktor and Rolf have recently announced that they will no longer continue in ready to wear and
strictly focus on haute couture. They state that ready to wear is creatively restricting (Socha,
M.,2015, February). The announcement happened after their most recent collection for fall/winter
2015/16. The show was breathtaking. Victor states that The idea was wearable art. now that we are
concentrating on couture we wanted to emphasize very literally how we have artistic roots and how
fashion can be art in our universe.
Viktor and Rolf have been very successful at creating a name for themselves. This success has led
to interest in there haute couture lines. Because of the major breakthroughs and innovative
collections the men will continue to grow. Their strong point is art and dropping their ready to
wear line will allow them to continue to push the boundaries in fashion, inspire, and awe crowds.
Viktor and Rolf have established a name and keep living up to their title. They only continue to
push and strive to invent new concepts. I expect Viktor and Rolf to define new terms for fashion
and art.
For my ready to wear designer I have chosen Elie Saab. I was drawn in by Saab s

Have you ever thought about professional athletes having so much pressure on themselves? In every sport fans put so much pressure on their teams to win. But what you don t see is how the players feel about it. Fans put too much pressure on their sports teams, but this couldn t be a problem if we make a solution. Fans can put so much stress on players of their favorite professional teams. You might not even realize the impact you are making. During the regular season of any sport is a long journey. But then when your team makes it into the playoffs or championship the pressure gets even higher on those players. Is there ever really a time where fans should be sending death threats to any athlete? Brandon Jacobs, a running back for the New York Giants, was sidelined the Giants opening game this season with a hamstring injury. Because of this, he received a death threat. (Bocchino) This is one of the best examples of how much pressure is on professional athletes. Fans sending threats to make sure these players play good. After all these athletes are humans just like everyone and should not be put in that situation. How should the professional team respond to fans that put this pressure on their athletes? The best solution is to give them a warning or to not let them come to their games anymore. It s the best way to be professional about it and so the players don t get hurt from the situation. For ... In other system, it will be expensive operation in RAM usage and CPU load if starting a new process or threads. In Lighttpd, expensive operation in RAM usage and CPU load will not happen since Lighttpd does not need to start a new process or thread on per user or per connection basis. Therefore, it is really light in RAM usage and CPU load. Lighttpd also normally use the I/O bound rather than the CPU bound. This means that Lighttpd always serve static files by speed of disk device or network interface instead of CPU speed. Disadvantages There also some disadvantages of Lighttpd web server. Lighttpd web server s design has faced some problem when it comes to the hardware with large number of CPU cores (CPUs). This is because Lighttpd only uses several threads and it will not gain too much from increasing more CPUs. However, Lighttpd is really light and never bound by lack of CPU power. There is also one weakness of the Lighttpd server which is Lighttpd buffer output from CGI server process in internal buffers. This will leads to less RAM memory consumption. It is a weak design that using Lighttpd to send iso sized files which obtained as data stream from the CGI process. This issue may limit the use of Lighttpd web server. • 4. Psychological Effects Of Complex Traum Making A Case For... Rachael Wandrey COURSE ASSIGNMENT DATE Treating the Psychological Effects of Complex Trauma: Making a Case for Narrative Exposure Therapy Defining Complex Trauma Complex trauma is a term that was established to differentiate traumas that occur repeatedly from traumas that happen in only one instance (herein referred to as simple trauma ; Coutois, 2008). For instance, complex trauma is typically referred to in the context of abusive childhoods wherein the child experiences repeated traumatic events (e.g., physical or sexual abuse) over the course of their childhood. Often the trauma will occur in parent child relationships leaving the victim under the control of the perpetrator (Herman, 1992). However, complex trauma is not limited to family violence, but can include other prolonged traumatic experiences, such as concentration camps and torture (Williams, 2006). Some researchers have argued that victims of complex trauma experience different psychological challenges than those who are victimized in one isolated incident (e.g., armed robbery). Coutois (2008) delineated seven problem areas that she believes are related to repeated early interpersonal trauma (i.e., complex trauma): 1) alterations in the regulation of affective impulses, 2) alterations in attention and consciousness, 3) alterations in self perception, 4) alterations in perception of the perpetrator, 5) alterations in relationships to others, 6) somatization and/or medical problems, 7) alterations in ... Social, Political And Economic Implications Of Money Throughout the course of this semester, we have examined the role of money in our society and have been introduced to scholars and economists that have offered rationale for the social, political and economic implications of money. One overwhelming theme that has lingered throughout most of the readings and lectures is the idea of inequality, particularly within the scope of the American economy. While other economies such as China or India are labor based economies, I have found that America s Capitalist economy is fueled by multiple facets racial inequality. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Black men are being denied the chance of a full life with all of the rights; privileges and opportunities of white men and similarly, the families/communities from which they come from are also at a significant disadvantage. A National Bureau of Research study found that Black families between 2004 2008 were 54% more likely to be charged higher on their mortgage rates than white families. This fact alone drives two main issues I will explore in this paper: the implications of socioeconomics and how inequality drives the American economy through the lens of mortgage lending. One theorist I will use to explore these ideas of inequality is John Maynard Keynes. Keynes argued that capitalism is a mere congery of possessors and pursuers (Keynes 60) and he also asserted that economic output is only based on the aggregate demand . Between 2004 2008, when Black families were getting charged higher interest rates on their homes than white families with similar incomes, large banks were pocketing millions of extra dollars from these families as many of the rates today would have been considered sub prime rates . • 11. Energy Deregulation Essay What is energy deregulation? Energy deregulation is the breakup of the utility monopoly in 35 states. Currently only 11 states allow full deregulation which allows consumers and businesses to choose their own electricity and gas providers. Energy deregulation is very similar to the AT T divestiture back in 1984. Consumers businesses were bound to AT T for their local and long distance services regardless of cost. The break up of AT T to Bell companies allow consumers to choose providers such as MCI, Sprint, and other telecommunication companies which allowed increased competition. Energy deregulation will do the same; however the PUC (Public Utilities Commission) of each given state is cautious of the breakup to prevent another Enron catastrophe. Also consumers need to make sure what agreement they sign as contracts are usually determined by fixed and variable rates. Also do not confuse energy deregulation with alternative energy or renewable energy, energy deregulation simply means shopping for electricity gas services through the open market. Energy deregulation has been adopted by many states over the past several years as a way to allow for multiple energy providers to compete for customers based on price and a higher level of customer service, break the utility monopoly into separate companies or business unit that separate the monopoly ... Then God appears before Job and curses him asking why he was not there when he created the world or why he isn t omnipotent. God then addresses Job s three friends and tells them that they have angered God and they have to offer seven bulls and seven rams to clear their wrongdoings against God. After all the repenting and prayers, God then gives back all of Job s losses, blessing him with twice the number of livestock he had before and blessing Job with seven sons and three daughters. The prologue of the book, set in prose style, is made up of chapters one and two with the introduction of Job and his family and how successful he is and that he is blessed by God wonderfully. It goes into Job s first test which Satan presents himself before the lord. God said to Satan, Have you considered my servant Job? Intraoperative brain mapping, sometimes called awake brain surgery, is a procedure used to remove brain tumours without damaging the brain, and as the name suggests, the patient is sedated but very much awake. Procedures such as these are nothing short of remarkable, and as science and medicine continue to develop, conditions which would have meant certain death can now be treated with relative ease. The magnitude of the negative charges of cells are identified with an in vivo dye which causes more negative areas to glow more brightly. What has been found is that more negative areas in frogs essentially plot where certain features, in one case the eyes, are going to develop. By manipulating an area on the tail slightly more negative, the frog developed with an eye on its tail. Such a small alteration had such a significant outcome on the frog, which is an indication of how powerful this research is. Chemical modification was also found to strongly influence the developing embryos when a frog embryo was treated with Prilosec, a stomach acid relief drug, which caused craniofacial defects as well as causing the organs to develop on opposite sides of the body. Prilosec interfered with the movement of the ion set, potassium and hydrogen, which was enough to impact patterning in the developing frog, resulting in defects. Research in the field has also been applied to try and improve severed spinal cords. In these tests, the movement of nerves was controlled by introducing a charge difference across the break in the spine. This caused nerves to move towards the charge and from here they were able to heal. Although it was found that the nerves couldn t move past the scar tissue, the experiment indicated that these techniques have to potential to be effectively applied to developed individuals, which could mean a chance at recovery for those living with spinal ... Article Review On Capitalism And Capitalism Caleb Wilson Essay on Capitalism Instructors: Christel Smith, Kurt Banzhaf, and Kayla Colfack English 12 and American Government April 12, 2015 CAPITALISM !1 It has been around since the Middle Ages, that we know of, and most likely before that. It is usually the first type of economy before evolving into another kind. Its main sources of life are competition and an ever changing society. This almost living breathing creature of our own device is called capitalism. Capitalism has been the biggest form of economy in the United States and now throughout the world. Prosperity is usually following right behind because of all the money produced, people employed, growth occurring, and overall well being a society experiences. Although great, capitalism has its down falls, like monopolies. We as an American society trust that the government will monitor, not just monopolies, but the other areas neglected by capitalism. Although the government has done a great job, they have, in a way, over stepped their bounds and have been slowly putting their hands on the throat of the beast we call capitalism. America should promote capitalism and not restrict it. With competition from other forms of government and countries, America needs all the help it can get to remain a world power. First, the rise of capitalism is astounding and mesmerizing. Second, the reasons why capitalism is so beneficial and a boon to society. Third, how restrictions, spending, and taxes are making a capitalistic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

First, a bit of history, although the death of ThГch QuбєЈng Дђб»©c was the first documented case of self immolation as a form of protest, the concept of burning oneself alive has existed for much longer. The Ritual of Sati refers to an old and now illegal practice in which a widowed Hindu woman would throw herself upon the funeral pyre of her husband. The grotesque tradition originated from the myth of Sati, a Hindu goddess who set herself on fire in retaliation to her husband s humiliation at the hands of her own father. The first documented case of the ritual can be traced to Madhya Pradesh, where a commemorative monument was erected in 510 CCE. While self immolation, in this context, developed into a sexist method of sacrifice, the religious origin expressed it as an act of rebellion. Buddhism also has strong connections with self immolation, there are many legends of monks who sacrificed their own bodies for others. In the tale of The Hungry Tigress , a previous incarnation of Buddha comes across a starving lion who is going to eat her cubs. The tale describes how Buddha sacrifices his own ... • 16. Essay On Sexism In The Media It s plain and simple, women need to be treated fairly in the media. In a large portion of history, women were treated as property and owned by men. The beauty a woman possessed was considered far more valuable than her character. Even today, this plays a role in the media. A common theme in media exists where women are criticized and over analyzed based purely on their appearance, just as they were generations ago. This has lead to an over sexualization of females and proposes that women are only man s tool. Being valued so poorly by a society has driven sexist treatment. The pressure put on girls from a young age to appear a particular way is something that impacts them throughout their adulthood. You can thank the media for that. As a ... Although there s not always someone to argue against the misogynist comments one may make. Comments of such shouldn t even be being made in the first place. Women and girls deserve to be viewed as equals by the media. Of course, some people would deny that discrimination against women exists. A recent statistic shows that more than half of men think sexism no longer exists ( McClatchyDC). On top of that, about 34% of women claim the same (McClatchyDC). The idea is that since technically women are being paid equally that means equality. While money isn t everything and actions are. For example: although the threat heavy tax burden at multiple levels is identified as economic factor, it is also relevant to be political or legal factor. Opportunities identified by economic (e.g. low penetration electronic products) and sociological factors (e.g. more nuclear families) lead to likelihood of increased demands for Haier s products. The threat highlighted by the political factor (unavailability of suitable road infrastructure to rural India) is challenging to counter involving government bodies and of high cost. It is not clear from the case study why the Indian government is delaying infrastructure projects although the economic and sociological factors indicate growth (e.g. 8.3% growth in GDP, more nuclear families, rising disposable income) generating more revenues. Applying Johnson s test of suitability, none of the strategies outlined above (Section 3.1) overcome this threat. The inverted duty structure is another threat Haier need to respond to since it results in inflated prices for goods. Marlon Brando, who portrayed Kurtz, fed the fire of deep confusion where the script was concerned. Both Heart of Darkness, and Milius original script, as well as Coppola s later interpretation of these, called for the character of Kurtz to be a frail, sickly, and dying man. Brando, however, refused to get into shape as Coppola had requested. Brando was in fact so fat during filming that he was shy about it (Behr). Coppola first suggested that he rewrite the script to accommodate the character to Brando by setting him up as a gluttonous, man consumed by his own evil excesses (Behr). Brando refused to be undignified in his portrayal, so the filming, as well as the writing remained stagnant for days on end. The unhappy population became rebellious and held out uprisings in a desperate attempt to change the great power. The Thirty Years War was happened when Ferdinand II was the king of Bohemia at 1617, and he was a prince from Austria. Ferdinand was a religious man who attended every single masses which leads to him going for pilgrimages and endured self abasement. He went against Protestants in Prague when he decided to close down their churches. These Protestants reacted by rebelling and, as a result, a religious war broke out between Ferdinand, who was joined by other monarchs, such as Maximilian and other Protestants who had help from some German princes (Blackbourn 18). Ferdinand and his allies defeated the Protestant armies between 1618 and 1625. Therefore, Bohemia became a catholic country, followed by its neighbor, Moravia. • 35. Marco Polo s Travels Over The Maritime Route Introduction Thirteenth century Europe was marked by a period curiosity of life outside the western world. While most people have the chance to find true love, these women are left threatened and in danger. The choice of whom to marry should be left to determine on one s own. Marriages should not be arranged for reasons of money, religion, or reputation because physical and mental abuse are common, the freedom that people are granted is limited by denying the pursuit of happiness, and love is better developed in a consensual marriage rather than a forced one which leads to greater satisfaction. • 40. Reducing The Wage Gap Between Men And Women According to the Center for American Progress Organization there are seven vital steps that can be taken in order to decrease the gender wage gap. Firstly, this organization firmly believes that raising the minimum wage will positively affect the wage gap between men and women. Averages illustrate that differentiation s among men and women s job selections could be considered for virtually half of the genderpay gap. Increasing the minimum wagewill benefit those dedicated women laborers by helping support their families. Two third of mothers are sole providers within their households and these same women are the ones, who made up relatively two thirds of all minimum salaried employees in the year 2012 (Glynn, Fisher Baxter, 2014). In 2014, the minimum wage was only $7.25 an hour which means that a person, who works full time would only bring in $15,080 over the course of a year. This is not enough for an individual, who has a family to live on because in actuality it is barely enough for a single person to survive on. This particular organization feels if the minimum wage is increased to at least $10.10 an hour, then it would benefit around 15 millions women and also help narrow the pay gap that exists between men and women. Secondly, the Center for American Progress Organization believes that increasing the tipped minimum salary would close the gender pay gap, as well. In fact right now there are 15 20 million children working as slaves. Although it provides children and families with money, and possibly something to learn from, children should not be enslaved or forced to do labor because it is very dangerous and can damage a child for the rest of their life. The employment of a child is most often very dangerous. Not only do children get diseases and illnesses, while working many children get a drug addiction. Kids get addicted to drugs because they are either forced or think that it will make their lives easier. In some opinions this can be true because their lives are so bad they want to kill themselves which drugs can do. Some children are kidnapped into child laborers and kept as a slave. Lots of parents send their children off to work everyday for extra money. While this happens the place/person may kidnap them and keep them as slaves. Indeed, it essentially marked the rebirth of NATO as an offensive organisation, and it was the first time that NATO forces had been used in an aggressive manner. This has led to numerous cases of a similar nature. For instance, in 1999 in Kosovo, when it became widely feared that the Serbian government was beginning to initiate policies of ethnic cleansing and possible even genocide in its province of Kosovo, NATO intervened once again.
