Job Sharing This facility involves splitting a full time job between two employees who share job
responsibility, compensation and benefits. Employees who specially require to take care of their
children, infants or their aging parents may find this policy highly beneficial. Cognizant also
encourages its employees to usually share job on daily basis so that employees develop mutual
understanding and that in turn can help to get high productivity from them creating a team feeling in
them. Daily basis constitutes of morning and evening shifts where most of the time industry is
customer facing or manufacturing, where long working hours are required and employees have to
work 50 60 hours a week and eventually get dissatisfies from their daily work. The job sharing policy
helps them to ease out from this monotonous environment and regain their interest level in their job.
Cognizant has also kept pension and retirement plans special for such policies which gives to put an
extra effort with benefits both company and the individual. Compressed Workweeks This is an
interesting policy which has been adopted by cognizant technology solutions, for employees who
prefer to work for long hours but less days a week. This works for employees who wants to work for
10 hours a day to get an extra day off from the work week by working two or three hours more. This
policy is to give employees more time to

Robert Frost Poetry Analysis
This poem was written by Robert Frost in 1923, in New Hampshire. He wrote it for political reasons
because he was mourning the end of the world. It does not appear as it was origianally written. It was
not part of a series or collection. It also does not belong to any particular movement.
This poem was not written about any person or national hero. It is not a lyric, or a haiku. It is,
however, a conffesional poem, as it speaks of his opinion of the polotics of that time.
Yes, because, the title is obvious as it describes the main topic of the poem. No, there is really only
one set meaning to the poem. There is no balance, as it mainly talks about the end of the world. There
is really no obvious opposite in this poem. Yes, it mentions the garden of Eden in the poem.
The only repitition in the poem, that I could find, was when he mentioned leaves dieing.
This poem suggests the passing of day and the change of the seasons in this poem. The passage of day
is obvious, with no gaps in between
The name Eden has value because Eden was a garden of holy perfection, So Eden sank to grief means
that the world ends.
Yes, at first glance this poem appears to be about nature and the seasons, but if you take into
consideration that he was unhappy with the politics at the time, things begin to make more sense.
Yes, because this poem shows that, at this point in time, the people where unhappy with the politics,
and concerned about the current war
Yes, although, at first glance, this poem

Reclining Pan in the St. Louis Art Museum
Reclining Pan in the St. Louis Art Museum Reclining Pan (St. Louis Art Museum, 138:1947) also
known as Drunken Satyr, a marble sculpture modeled by Giovanni Angelo Montorsoli in early 16th
century, is portraying Pan, the god of the woods, fields, and flocks in the reclining position. The
sculpture was owned by the powerful Barberini Family in Rome, then purchase by St. Louis Art
Museum in1947.1 Reclining Pan at the St. Louis Art Museum under discussion presents a
commanding image of the satyr/god Pan, measuring approximately 2 feet tall and 4.5 feet long. Pan
appears to have fallen asleep in a drunken stupor since he lies upon a wineskin amid four bunches of

To show his gratitude he ordered the construction of a statue in her honor telling the sculptor to make
the statue quanshou quanyan meaning with completely formed arms and eyes. The sculptor was
probably from Henan and he misunderstood. He made the sculpture with qianshou qianyan a thousand
arms and eyes. From that day on, Guanyin has been represented with a lot of arms and eyes.7
Representations of the bodhisattva in China prior to the Song dynasty were masculine in appearance.
Guanyin s image is depicted as a young man dressed in Northern Song Buddhist robes sitting
gracefully. He is depicted looking or glancing down, symbolizing that Guanyin continues to watch
over the world.8 This Guanyin sculpture was made around Late Song dynasty, the appearance of the
bodhisattva showing the slender build, feminine curved face, even though the Guanyin is still
portrayed as a male figure, it shows some transition between male and female characteristics. Later
images display attributes of both genders. One interpretation of this development contends that the
bodhisattva is neither male nor female but has transcended sexual distinctions, as he has all other
dualities in the sphere of samsara (the temporal world). According to this opinion, the flowing drapery

Elements Of The Labyrinth
Millhauser Introduction There are few tropes that have endured and evolved as much as the labyrinth.
From ancient to postmodern times, the labyrinth has evolved from a symbol of divine order to an
expression of chaos. Because it is such a flexible symbol, the labyrinth has endured even as the nature
of human thought has evolved. This project aims to explore the labyrinthine elements of American
writer Steven Millhauser s short fiction.
The idea of the labyrinth is demonstratively present in Millhauser s short fiction. However, his usage
of the labyrinth is at once the same and different than preceding eras of short fiction. Postmodern short
fiction in the 1960 s and 70 s utilized the labyrinthine to draw attention to its own textuality. The
labyrinth was a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One important characteristic of the labyrinth is its essential interiority. The labyrinth of Greek
mythology, built by Daedalus for King Minos of Crete, had a perplexing and imprisoning interior. The
complexity of its interior served its function: the imprisonment of the Minotaur a half man and half
bull creature. In her book The Idea of the Labyrinth, Penelope Doob traces the evolution of the
labyrinth in art, culture and literature from antiquity to the middle ages. Doob observes that the
labyrinth of ancient mythology was so perplexing that its maker, Daedalus, could scarcely navigate it
(Doob, 36). The confusion and imprisoning nature of the mythological labyrinth points to the trope s
inextricable quality: its interior ambages (Doob 66). Likewise, Hermann Kern asserts that the most
important feature of the labyrinth [is]...the negative space of the path formed by those lines which
determined the pattern of movement (Kern 23). Nietzsche, too, observes that the force of the labyrinth
is that its meaning resides solely in its interiority (Nietzsche

Book Review on the Vietnam War by Mark Atwood Lawrence
Lawrence, Mark A. The Vietnam War. Chicago: Fitzroy Dearborn Publishers, 2001. Print.
Over the preceding period, a lot of scholars have tried to explore the international proportions that
underlie the Vietnam War. By way of exploring the dimensions that are related to this war, they have
succeeded in nudging what is believed to be the gravity that is associated with Vietnam War erudition
away from the custom fixation to the role that the United States took. In an admirably brisk and
compactly written volume, Lawrence Mark does build on a trend that presents conflicting episodes of
global history. He successfully creates this lively and compact trend through his roots that he bases in
the extensive and extended history of Vietnam which is related to the historical conjuncture that was in
existence between the Cold War and decolonization as well as emphasizing on the contributions that
are critical of belligerents and other Vietnamese to the developments of the wars. America is central to
Mark s story by showing how some of the actors decision such as Beijing, Hanoi, Moscow, and
Saigon helped in shaping the constraints that were present (Lawrence, 65). Thus, this paper critical
explores on the book review of Mark Lawrence called The Vietnam War.

The Price Elasticity Of Demand
Price elasticity of demand is defined as a measure of the responsiveness or sensitivity of consumers to
changes in the price of a good or service (Thomas Maurice, 2012, pp. 199). Mathematically, the price
elasticity of demand is calculated by dividing the percentage change in quantity demanded by the
percentage change in price. Demand is said to be elastic whenever the absolute value of the percentage
change in quantity demanded exceeds the percentage change in price, which means the absolute value
of the elasticity would be greater than one. If the absolute value of the price elasticity of demand is
less than one, the demand is said to be inelastic, or less sensitive to the price change. There are various
factors that affect the price elasticity of products, in the following sections these factors will be
applied to the demand of desktop computers.
The first factor which is the most important determinant of price elasticity of demand is the
availability of substitutes (Thomas Maurice, 2012, pp. 205). For any product where quality substitutes
are readily available, the price elasticity of demand will be high. For example, if the price of desktop
computers was to rise by 20%, the quantity of desktop computers demanded would most likely
decrease by a greater percentage. This is because consumers could easily go out and purchase laptop
computer or tablets to accomplish tasks for which they needed the desktop computer. Likewise, if the
price of desktop computer

Open Court Observation On Criminal Cases
I chose to do my open court observation on criminal cases. Criminal cases usually involve attorneys
that try to prove their argument to the judge. I felt as though this setting would be more interesting to
sit and observe versus a civil case where you have two people trying to settle a dispute. Its interesting
to see how actual attorneys and judges act in a courtroom instead of what is portrayed on TV. My local
courthouse which is in a police station holds preliminary hearings. A preliminary hearing is where the
judge decides if there is enough evidence that there was a crime committed and you committed a
crime. If the prosecutor fails to do this, then some or all the charges filed against you can be
dismissed. There was two different parts to this process that I saw during my observation. The first
one is when the defendant waives their hearing. Then the second being where the defendant decides to
go through with the hearing. During my observation there was about ten cases, and all but two of them
followed through with the hearing. This was very surprising to me as I watched because I couldn t
understand why someone wouldn t want to at least see if the prosecution had sufficient evidence
against them. Also it doesn t even give their lawyer a chance to argue on their behalf against the
prosecution. The first formal person to walk into the courtroom was the public defender. I watched as
he called out names, and spoke briefly to nearly every person in the room. My immediate

Chipotle Financial Analysis Essays
Part 1: Company Information: The company selected for our financial analysis project is Chipotle
Mexican Grill. Chipotle (for short) is a company that is a major player in the fast food and restaurant
industry. The name chipotle is derived from the Mexican Spanish name for a smoked, dried Jalapeno
pepper. The restaurant sells large burritos and bowls in an assembly line production system where all
the condiments are arranged and all the customer has to do is request what they want their burrito to
consist of. This in turn lends itself to an air of individuality (creating multiple combinations and
choices for the clientele). The Corporation trades under the ticker symbol CMG on the New York
Stock Exchange. The most recent Fiscal Year End ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chipotle Mexican Grill as a company is not immune to these issues and has its own fair share of
challenges. The first and most important challenge facing Chipotle is the sourcing of their food
ingredients. When the company first came into existence, it sourced its ingredients from every and all
available sources just like all other fast food companies. This changed in 1999 after Founder Steve
Ells visited a Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFOs). He was not too impressed and
changed his company s food sources to organic. All of Chipotle s pork is 100% organic as well as 80%
of its chicken and 85% of its beef. The company served 100% of all meat sources but had to make
adjustments as demand exceeded supply. The company served over 60 million pounds of meat in 2009
and over 75 million pounds in 2010. Maintaining such high numbers in the use of organic meat and
produce is next to impossible and as witnessed, the company is already incorporating non organic
sources. A solution to this debacle would be to outsource organic produce from neighboring countries
such as Mexico and Canada. The only foreseeable obstacle to this approach would be cost of
transportation of the livestock (either alive or in a finished package ). This would go a long way in
ensuring that the company remains true to its mission statement and actually serve to customers what

Essay on Confronting Death in Poetry
Confronting Death in Poetry Raised fists and a fading smile usually follow the confrontation of death
as we experience the first stages of denial in the grieving process. We not only grieve at the loss of a
loved one, but at the loss of our own life as well. When death rears its ugly head, it demands this
response. Whether through art or science, humor or ritual, mankind marks and confronts this passage
with both defiance and trepidation that eventually turns into acceptance and submission.
The fear of death seems to be based on two things: the finality of death and the uncertainty of what
follows. Many works have been written on the topic, some to offer consolation, others hope, and still
others to urge readers to correct their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With this knowledge we plan our future, cherish expectations, hopes and dreams. Frost portrays that
the dreams of the boy are dashed as he comes to the next stage of grieving, that of acceptance. Frost
write, ...Then the boy saw all / Since he was old enough to know... / He saw all spoiled (Frost 22, 23,
25)
Frost then takes the reader through a similar grieving process as the family and friends of the boy
experience some, or possibly all, of the same stages of grief that the boy experienced. It is stark
reminder of the lives of the ordinary and of the many families who lost many children before they
reached their teenage years. Disease and the lack of medical science back then resulted in a higher
death rate of young children.
And then the watcher at his pulse took fright No one believed. They listened at his heart... No more to
build on there. And they.... turned to their affairs. (Frost 30, 31, 33, 34)
At this stage the grieving survivors cut each tie and relinquish the bonds that link them to the
deceased. Frost depicts that the grieving will have to come to terms with the many life changes that
may follow the boys death yet there is utter helplessness that life must go on as they turn away to their
affairs.
Edwin Robinson s Richard Corey takes another look at death, through the eyes of the common folk.

Atoms for Peace Analysis Essay
Dwight D Eisenhower, the 34th President of the United States from 1953 1960, is revered as a
statesman and great military leader. Born in Texas in 1890 and raised in Kansas to a family that valued
education, Eisenhower began a long career as a leader and military officer upon his graduation in 1915
from West Point. Eisenhower is recognized for his leadership and oratorical skills which he applied to
both military endeavors and managing the nation. He was fortunate to be mentored by General Fox

The audience s biases and beliefs both impeded and helped Eisenhower s proposal. Eisenhower s
diction was appropriate for his audience; though he used some jargon, the members were able to
understand because of their level of knowledge. His appeals, mostly to pathos and ethos, were
effective. He established ethos by addressing the meeting with France and Great Britain, and through
his position as President. Eisenhower s use of rhetoric allowed his audience to be receptive to his
argument. In Eisenhower s introduction he does not construct the reality and frame the question
effectively. He does not make his purpose clear in his introduction either. Even though in the first
paragraph Dwight mentions that his speech will be about the issues of society today, he does not
mention those issues much farther in the text. The structure of his arguments contribute to his
persuasion. Eisenhower would begin by telling the audience what the issues at hand are, then would
say his solution to each problem. For example, around the 21st paragraph, Eisenhower uses a first,
second and finally method. In those, he states some issues such as, the knowledge now possessed by
several nations will eventually be shared by others possibly all others. Then Dwight goes to suggest
the solution or solutions to the previously stated problems. Also, throughout the piece, he

Feeding Tube Refusal Dilemma Essay
Feeding Tube Refusal Dilemma A 28 year old female with cerebral palsy and debilitating arthritis is in
the hospital for treatment. She is immobile and unable to perform basic tasks on her own. Due to her
condition, she is having trouble eating and in order to help, the doctor believes that a feeding tube
(PEG tube) should be surgically inserted. When told about the treatment, the patient refuses surgery.
She is deemed competent and understands her situation. In this situation, I propose that the care team
should respect the wishes of the patient and let her die. It is clearly stated that the patient is
autonomous and aware of the potential risks of refusing treatment. She is willing to accept the fact that
if she does not receive the feeding tube, she will die of malnutrition. In addition, she is not consenting
to the surgery and they cannot legally force her to accept treatment to have the PEG tube inserted. The
conditions for consent include competence, understanding and appreciation of information, and
voluntariness free from coercion, and undue influence (Young, Ch. 44). She has fulfilled the
requirements for competence because the care team acknowledges that the patient recognizes that
there is a decision that needs to be made, clearly understands the information and treatment options,
and the risks involved with each decision (Orr, CBHD). There is no question that the patient
understands and appreciates the information because the care team is aware that she is able

Counterculture In 1960s
In the 1960s a new group of young, long haired and wild people began to form in San Francisco,
California and soon spread throughout the rest of the country and then developed around the world. Its
origins may be traced to European social movement in the 19th and early 20th century such as
Bohemians, and the influence of Eastern religion and spirituality. From around 1967, its fundamental
ethos including harmony with nature, communal living, artistic experimentation particularly in music,

Traditional Vs. Online Education
Compare and Contrast Traditional vs. Online As this world s technology is progressing so is the way
we teach and learn. Ever since school started hundreds of years ago it s always been a teacher in a live
classroom with many students. Everything is shifting, however; and now we have transitioned into
online classes as well. I have had both, and I can tell you there are many comparisons and contrasts
between the two. 77% of educators believe that online learning is just as good as traditional learning,
if not better, nearly 70% of all students claim online instruction to be as good as or better than a
traditional classroom setting, and 26% of online students claim to learn better online than in a
classroom. So clearly people aren t too against this new form of learning. Online enrollment rates are
expanding at much faster rates than traditional classroom enrollment growth; specifically, in higher
education, online enrollments have grown 21%, whereas growth for traditional classroom instruction
registers only 2% since 2002. Traditional and Online classes have a lot of similarities and differences
especially in areas like flexibility, comprehension of the course material, and discipline. Traditional is
what I had my entire life up until I entered high school. It is what I prefer out of both choices. I learn
from one on one interaction, and that is something that online doesn t have. In traditional there is not
very much flexibility because of several reasons. Classes are

It is my pleasure to recommend an outstanding student, Feste, to New York University for a dual
degree in philosophy and acting. I believe that New York University (NYU) is the best fit for Feste
because he excels in both areas, and no other university could provide him with a high quality
education that combines both subjects. Although I have successfully recommended several students to
NYU, I have never had the honor of recommending a student like Feste; he manages to be the most
outspoken person in the room, yet contributes deep and insightful commentary. He is truly a student
that teaches me something every day. For example, he once told the class that smart people who think

different roles and dispenses insightful wisdom much like the famous philosophers in the fifteenth
century. Additionally, NYU is the best fit for Feste because numbers, such as GPA and test scores, will
not define him. He will pursue his interest in acting, contemplate human nature, and continue to

China has banned fishing in the lower and middle regions of the Yangtze from April to June in hopes

The Old Testament Language Of Joel 2
eschatology. Using the Old Testament language of Joel 2, Pentecostals referred to the Spirit baptism
event as the latter rain . This latter rain was a sign of the lasts days and the immanent return of Christ.
How did they know that the latter rain was falling over them? This is where tongues manifestation is
crucial. Pentecostals believe that they had received xenolalia, human language unknown to them.
Thus, many believed that they were experiencing what the disciples had experience in Acts 2. Hence,
their understanding of Christ immanent return together with the idea that they spoke a foreign human
tongue became the springboard for such missionary burst throughout the world. Anderson points out,
The idea of a world wide revival to precede the soon coming King became a prominent theme in early
Pentecostalism and was an important reason for frantic mission activity that came in the movement s
wake.
It is widely known, that early Pentecostal missionaries and the local people suffered due to such
eschatological urgency. Nevertheless, it cannot be denied that even through those sufferings God used
these missionaries to spread the gospel to unimaginable places.
In the last section, Lausanne Covenant agrees in principle to what is a Pentecostal understanding of
the last days. It says, We believe that the interim period between Christ s ascension and return is to be
filled with the mission of the people of God, who have no liberty to stop before the end. Though the

Norman Borlaug Research Paper
Rising at dawn in northern Mexico, Norman Borlaug wriggled from his sleeping bag. Rats had run
over him all night, and he was cold. In a corner of the dilapidated research station where he had tried
to sleep, he found a rusting plough. He took it outside, strapped the harness to himself, and furiously
and crazily began in front of a group of astonished peasants, to plough the land ( Norman Borlaug,
feeder of the world, died on September 12th, aged 95 ). This was only the beginning for Norman
Borlaug, who dreamt of a world without hunger, only death would stop him from achieving his dream.

Through the application of his work, Norman Borlaug has saved hundreds of millions of lives from
starvation, more lives than any other person in history (Heam). The results of the implementation of
his technology today have made it so that no country has been able to manage a sustainable transition
from poverty without increasing agricultural productivity as well as production (Heam). His work
directly led to the entrance of less developed countries into the global market, evident in his work in
Mexico, India, and China, and this work fueled research for the development of other GMOs that
directly provided people in developing countries with food. Norman Borlaug was awarded the Nobel
Peace Prize in 1970 for his work in implementing genetically modified crops into starving regions.
This implementation of his work in developing regions allowed for a sustainable food source,
reducing competition for food. Providing a sustainable food source also allowed for the decrease in
the average family size, since families in developing regions no longer needed to have a large family
to maintain fields. This also allowed many countries to move away from subsistence farming, limiting
the number of people required to feed growing countries. As Norman Borlaug once said It was

Australian Health Care Services For Indigenous Australians
INTRODUCTION
It has been observed that Indigenous Australians face deprivation to a range of services including
primary health care, due to various factors such as cultural barrier, environmental factors and racism.
As a result, there was increase in the rate of obesity, overweight, chronic diseases and mortality rate.
However, Australian governments have introduced programs that increase the availability of services
to rural and remote areas but still Indigenous Australian s health needs urgent consideration.
Therefore, it should be prioritized by the Australian government to provide all the primary health care
services to indigenous Australians without any discrimination.
DISCUSSION
PART 1
There are various politico economic elements and policies; environmental and employment
conditions; social and cultural influences and lifestyle of indigenous Australians which affect their
health. Above all, there is poverty which contributes towards their poor health circumstances
(Australian Indigenous Health InfoNet, 2014). The Indigenous Australians are powerless and
generally face various kinds of deprivation that includes exclusion, material deprivation and
unavailability of opportunities for study and employment. They are not capable enough to take part in
society: socially, politically and culturally (Public Health Association of Australia, 2001). It is a
general concept that when a person does not feel secure, is unemployed, not connected to his/her

Complete Comparisons Of Wheatley And Poe
Complete Comparisons of Wheatley and Poe Throughout American literature, two poets emerge as
very unlikely candidates for poetic comparisons. Phillis Wheatley and Edgar Alan Poe s writings in
many ways reflect the unique lives that they lived, and having an understanding of the two poets
backgrounds can assist a reader in dissecting their manuscripts. Comparing works from the two is an
easy task to handle if an avid reader decides to pursue it, and even though they lived under adverse
conditions they have a way of shaping history into an intricate fashion of delicate, dark and
sophisticated writing. Phillis Wheatley and Edgar Alan Poe are different in persona and literacy, but
when a reader processes more of their works, one can understand how these two writers helped shape
poetry for generations after and still possess an impact on the literary world.
Phillis Wheatley was a young African American girl, brought to America at the age of seven to be a
slave. In her time maturing in the Wheatley household, young Phillis grew rapidly intellectually and
spiritually. Her faith in God and His divine nature is what inspired Wheatley to write a prominent
subject in her poem On Being Brought from Africa to America. Another example of God being the
backbone of her literary career is in her letter To the University of Cambridge in New England.
Though Wheatley was a slave, she is known as one of the most prominent poets in the pre nineteenth
century America. Mr. Edgar Alan Poe,

Preface To Lyrical Ballads William Wordsworth Analysis
In the document entitled Preface to Lyrical Ballads (1800) , William Wordsworth a poet from the turn
of the seventeenth century discusses his poems and the life of a poet. Wordsworth is a poet who grew
up around the time of the French Revolution and was one of the leaders of a new path in English
poetry. The document is taken from the preface of a collection of poems written by Wordsworth and
Samuel Taylor Coleridge, another poet of the day. Wordsworth was an Englishmen, and traveled to
France inbetween1790 and 179, when the world seemed to be everchanging and moving forward at an

comparison between service perceptions with service expectation, see Figure 1.
Methods
Focus on utilizing secondary airports and older terminals should reduce airport fees and also up to a

This will enable less congested airports, reduce average flight times and delay incidents. Consequently
Indigo will start to attract business travellers who value punctuality and frequency.

Henrik Ibsen, the author of the controversial play A Doll s House said, There are two kinds of moral
laws, two kinds of conscience, one for men and one, quite different, for women. They don t
understand each other; but in practical life, woman is judged by masculine law, as though she weren t

Since Nora s father was dying, she was forced to forge his signature in order to secure a loan that
would eventually save her husband s life, which only led to more problems in the future because in
order for her to be able to repay the money she must lie about how she spends her household accounts
and also lie about taking odd jobs to earn extra money. Also, the way Torvald treats Nora in the play
depicts the way women were treated in the nineteenth century. For example, In Act I, Nora is little
more than a child playing a role. She is a doll occupying a doll s house, a child who has exchanged a
father for a husband without changing or maturing in any way. Torvald treats his wife literally like a
doll, calling her pet names and occasionally scolding her as if she were a child. His primary interests
are his new job as a bank manager and his social standing. When he learns that his wife is involved in
a legal problem that would embarrass him if it became known to the public, he reveals who he really
is. He comes off as a hypocrite preoccupied with his own welfare. Also, Torvald says that Nora is now

because they have been married for eight years and has suffered enough injustice from both her father
and Torvald. Nora explains to Torvald that she has been merry, not happy, being with him. She

The Decline Of Tattoo In China
This is an example of the decline that is happening throughout the globe due to globalization. Many
people were forced to give up their culture with the invasion of other countries. The Hainan people

that they were only tattooing the women to keep them from being kidnapped and married. So the

China isn t the only place that this decline is taking place. Native American and African cultures have

Orcas are actually the largest member of the dolphin family and the top predator in the marine
environment. Spanish whalers called Orcas whale killers after observing them hunt in packs, killing or
overcoming marine mammals, including whales (STW Killer Whale). Somehow, their name got
turned around to what we name them today; killer whales. However, no accurate report exists of Orcas
in the wild killing humans. Orcas are well known for their black shiny bodies with white patches
around the eyes and stomach. This coloration has made these majestic large animals the large money
makers at corporations such as SeaWorld. This enterprise, however, creates an unsafe environment for
the Orcas in order to create a profit. Orcas should not be kept in captivity because it jeopardizes the
animals mental and physical health to create a profit and is, therefore, inhumane.
Orcas are large whales that live all around the world. They are well known for their dorsal fin, which
is located on the top of their body stand erect and are different for each whale. Researchers often use
the dorsal fin to identify individual Orcas. There are many different types of Orcas and within these
types researchers observe very diverse diets. Orca diets are often geographic or population specific.
Some types like the eastern North Pacific resident orca populations specialize on salmon (Chinook

Ho Chi Minh and The Vietnam War
The declaration of Vietnamese independence made by Ho Chi Minh in 1945 served as a milestone in
what was a century old struggle against foreign control. In its history Vietnam had spent 1000 years
under control of the Chinese and had resisted this control vehemently. Revolts and rebellions against
China finally lead to Vietnamese independence in the tenth century. In the thirteenth century the
Vietnamese drove back Kublai Khan three times under the leadership Dao. Tran Hung Dao not only
led the Vietnamese people in driving Kublai Khan back, but did so by pioneering the guerrilla warfare
methods that would later be employed against both the French and the United States. It is thus evident

As Eisenhower took office he and his Secretary of State, John Foster Dulles, chose to agree with the
assessment of Ho Chi Minh as an instrument of international communism . This view would lock the
United States once more in a policy driven by fear of communism. The administration set about
bolstering a war weary France with promises of additional aid, but also with demands on access to
French battle plans. In March of 1954 the Vietminh s successful assault on French Garrisons left the
U.S. even more in doubt concerning France s success. By the time Kennedy took office the French
had withdrawn and Eisenhower had poured millions of dollars of aid into South Vietnam. The U.S.

Though the commitment at this point to forces in South Vietnam was not one of full soldiers on the

another crucial turning point in the war in 1961 when he committed both aid and advisers, marking a

other candidates. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as good researchers are expected to produce good

The following will discuss the replication crisis from an undergraduate student s perspective and how
it affected my undergraduate journey specifically. Introductory statistics are part of the problem Initial
statistical courses are exciting, as students are taught the foundations of conducting research by
learning about inferential statistics. However, important topics such as power, confidence intervals and
effect sizes are briefly discussed and quickly forgotten due to the large amount of new information
taught in those courses. Over time, students simply learn to rely on p values, where p .05, the null
hypothesis is rejected and p .05, the null hypothesis is retained. Statistics are overwhelming and a lot
of practice and reading are required to fully understand how it really works. I am a fourth year student
and consider myself as having a higher than average knowledge of statistics compared to most fellow
students in my year, but I have a lot to learn and am aware that I still do not understand most of it.
That is one reason why NHST is surviving, as it is convenient and a strong statistical knowledge is not
needed to apply it in research. The point is that appropriate ways to interpret statistics and ethical
research practices should be taught as early as possible to avoid the use of common unethical research
practices. Next, students learn

The Label Of Gnostic Gospel
The label Gnostic gospel was used for the revelation dialogues between Jesus and his disciples, which
form a prominent group of Gnostic writings. Titles of the form gospel according to ... became attached
to the canonical Gospels in order to distinguish another writing in a collection; this was a development
in the mid to late second century. In addition, when copying collections of writings, scribes had to
assign titles to individual Gnostic works. Based on how rarely gospel appears as a title, one would
have to conclude that Gnostics had little interest in the specification. Gnosticism is a religion that
differentiates the evil god of this world from a higher, more abstract God revealed by Jesus Christ. It is

Once attributions with no basis in the works themselves are discounted, the number of Gnostic texts
entitled gospel shrinks even further. The Valentinian entries, the Gospel of Truth and the Gospel of
Philip, have no ties to the genre gospel. Valentinian teachers interpret Gospels that are common
property of the larger Christian community. In the remaining cases, both the Gospel of Thomas and
the Gospel of Judas have an incipit that employs a different literary designation. A later scribe took the
apostle s name from the incipit to create the title. The opening pages of the Gospel of Mary have been
lost. Her prominence in the second half of the text may have provided a scribe with the name for a
title. None of the Gnostic tractates entitled gospel initially had that designation.
Used in the oral sense for preaching a message about salvation revealed through the coming of Jesus,
it is the content of their soteriology, not the term that distinguishes Gnostics from other Christians.
Used in the mid second century forward for written accounts of Jesus and his teaching commonly
circulated among Christians, there is no special Gnostic Gospel. Gnostic teachers rely on the range of
gospel traditions being circulated among Christians, with no greater tendency than believers to exploit
apocryphal Gospels. In addition, the poetics of the Gnostic universe push its teachers away from
imaginative engagement with the historical or physical world such as might produce additional

Anabolic Steroids are known as anabolic androgenic steroids. A drug that is structured to relate to the

What anabolic steroids do is increase the protein in the cells. The increase in these cells most happens
in the skeletal muscles. Anabolic steroids can also have Androgenic and virilizing properties, that
includes the development and the maintenance of masculine characteristics. With that, exactly what
are the effects of anabolic steroids to the body visually and in health as well mentally? With anabolic
steroids, they can cause many affects with a human s health. For example the heart, liver, Growth

have alterations in the structure of the heart. Like enlargement and thickening of the left ventricle, this
impairs its contractions and the relaxation. Other possible effects of these alterations in the heart that
can happen are hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, congestive failure with the heart, heart attacks, and
sudden cardiac death. With the sudden cardiac attacks, anabolic steroids are typically the leading the

Becoming A Veterinarian Research Paper
It is no secret that social media is seen as an outlet, where we can post our innermost thoughts and

social media bolsters some people to post rants, hate speech, and other offensive comments that they

Therefore, it is my ultimate dream to become a veterinarian. This career often sees many different
types of situations. Sometimes, it may be blissful and enjoyable, like when you save an abused dog
from potentially dying. Other times it can be heartbreaking and unpleasant. There is no simple rule for
when to express feelings. Instead, we must exercise judgment. We have an ethical obligation to make
thoughtful choices about whether, when, and how to express our emotions. At times, being a
veterinarian, I may want to grieve with a family over the loss of their pet or even anger if I am unable
to help an animal in need. However, displaying such emotions would be extremely inappropriate and
unprofessional while simultaneously violating professional norms. Instead of revealing the emotions
described above, a veterinarian should exhibit strength and courage. They should be able to remain
positive during even the bleakest times. For example, if I were to discover that one of my client s pets
had an incurable type of cancer and would require euthanasia, I would want to remain optimistic,
while providing comfort to the family and the pet during such a hard time. If the family senses my
sadness or anger, they are more inclined to feel the same way as me. With that being said, if I present a
positive, relaxed mood, the family would be more slanted towards those feelings. Although I would be
saddened by an event such as this, it would be quite unprofessional for me to do break into tears,
despite my sadness. Everyone will have to deal with negative emotions during their career, at some
point or another, and learning how to cope with these feelings and which are appropriate to express is

Terrorism And Terrorism Attacks
Intro The United States has had its share of terror attacks, whether it was a major destruction, or
simpler destruction. On September 11th of 2001 (9/11), there was a major crisis after learning about
the terror attacks that happened on the World Trade Center in New York. That is one of the most
memorable terror attacks that took place in the Unites States. It was a series of terror attacks that took
place and the Pentagon was also targeted during this time. It was determined that Islamic nations were
targeting the United States to gain insight to their political views. The Islamic terrorist were so pressed
on getting their points across that they didn t care about the lives that stood in their way, including
their own. Thousands of people lost their lives in these two attacks alone and millions were affected.
Since then, terrorism has been a clear problem that has continued to show itself over time throughout
the United States. Terrorism is not limited to the United States, in fact, terrorism has been linked to
different areas of the world like Pakistan, Israel, Japan, and in the Philippines. Terrorism can be
anywhere from bombing, plane crashing, or just plain assassinating, as long as their means were to get
a message across. One example for an assassinating shooting is the Orlando shooting that took place
on June 12, 2016. The shooter was classified as just a gunman to some, but he was classified as a

Physics Of Track Essay
Physics Of Track
The speed at which a pendulum swings depends on the length of the pendulum, not on the amount of
weight at the bottom. Your arms and legs are both pendulums. When you swing your arm, your
shoulder is the top of a pendulum and your hand is at the bottom. Therefore, in order to get your
pendulum (either your arms or your legs) to swing faster, you need to shorten them. When you bend
either your arms or legs, you are actually shortening your pendulum because you re moving the center
of gravity towards the top of the pendulum.
There are many different forces acted on a sprinter in track. Wind direction can cause acceleration or
deceleration of the sprinter depending on the direction of wind. Gravity can be an advantage of
disadvantage to sprinters. Although gravity causes friction between the track and the sprinter s feet,
sprinters have adapted to use gravity as an advantage. To do this, the sprinter leans forward. This
allows gravity to work with them as leaning causes gravity to pull the sprinter forward, and make
motion of the legs easier as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

My Junior Year In High School
We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we re curious and
curiosity keeps leading us down new paths, (Walt Disney). The overview of my Junior year in high
school was, I believe, the best school year so far both in academic and my personal achievements. As
a person I had a major growth, I become more active in school in which was a huge step for me, and
academically, well I ve never seen so many A s since Freshmen year, well that is if I examine only
second semester but overall I felt that my grades were better than last year. This year I became a
person who is more open minded, one who sees the outside world, my mind has opened a door which
helped me find the inner me that was stuck in for the past 2 years of high school like if I were a bud
that has finally opened. I shockley impressed at myself, willing to accept any new challenges this year
which truly helped me become a better person in education and personally. Starting off the year went
well for me, there was a few ups and downs but I managed to hold on tightly to complete this year.
Junior year was certainly a tough challenge for me , I took AP English Language, based on all of my
classes this was the most challenging to me. The course was not the blame and certainly it was not the
teacher, the blame was on me. I blame myself for not putting time and effort into my work. What I
believe AP English Language was about utilizing your sense of thought and putting a lot of effort into

Frontier Airlines
FRONTIER AIRLINES Frontier Airlines is currently an ultra low cost carrier headquartered in the
United States. It has not always been that way, but we will discuss more about that a little later. As the
reader, you may be wondering, What is an ultra low cost carrier and how is it different than any other
carrier? so I ll begin by answering that question. After that I will then proceed with more in depth
information about Frontier Airline s history, operations, finances, labor, and fleet. In contrast to legacy
carriers like United Airlines, Delta Airlines, or American Airlines, which traditionally provided full
service to their consumers, the low cost carrier (LLC) is considered a budget airline. Full service
airlines included advanced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was partly due to the fact that they had recently purchased Central Airlines of Texas (Lankins,
n.d.). It didn t take long for problems to arise, though. Almost 15 years later, in 1980, pressure from
other airlines caused management of Frontier airlines to request that their own employees forfeit or
reduce items of value, like pay, benefit in order for the airline to stay competitive (Lankins, n.d.).
These cuts are called concessions. These concessions spelled the beginning of the end, because they
were not enough to help the airline recover and in 1985 they were sold to a low cost carrier named
People Express. The doors closed and Frontier Airlines ceased to exist (Fortney, n.d.). The following
year, in 1986 Continental airlines purchased the newly merged People Express (Lankins, n.d.). Let s
fast forward to 1993, as Continental Airlines scaled back its Denver hub operations. (Fortney, n.d.)
Former executives of the first Frontier Airlines saw this as a high potential moment for strategic
advantage and began to develop a business plan. By July 1994, like a phoenix rising from the ashes,
Frontier Airline was restored. They began operations with two planes previously used by Continental.
By 2001, the airline was being featured in Fortune magazine s list of fastest growing companies.

  • 3. Robert Frost Poetry Analysis This poem was written by Robert Frost in 1923, in New Hampshire. He wrote it for political reasons because he was mourning the end of the world. It does not appear as it was origianally written. It was not part of a series or collection. It also does not belong to any particular movement. This poem was not written about any person or national hero. It is not a lyric, or a haiku. It is, however, a conffesional poem, as it speaks of his opinion of the polotics of that time. Yes, because, the title is obvious as it describes the main topic of the poem. No, there is really only one set meaning to the poem. There is no balance, as it mainly talks about the end of the world. There is really no obvious opposite in this poem. Yes, it mentions the garden of Eden in the poem. The only repitition in the poem, that I could find, was when he mentioned leaves dieing. This poem suggests the passing of day and the change of the seasons in this poem. The passage of day is obvious, with no gaps in between The name Eden has value because Eden was a garden of holy perfection, So Eden sank to grief means that the world ends. Yes, at first glance this poem appears to be about nature and the seasons, but if you take into consideration that he was unhappy with the politics at the time, things begin to make more sense. Yes, because this poem shows that, at this point in time, the people where unhappy with the politics, and concerned about the current war Yes, although, at first glance, this poem ... The sculptor was probably from Henan and he misunderstood. He made the sculpture with qianshou qianyan a thousand arms and eyes. From that day on, Guanyin has been represented with a lot of arms and eyes.7 Representations of the bodhisattva in China prior to the Song dynasty were masculine in appearance. Guanyin s image is depicted as a young man dressed in Northern Song Buddhist robes sitting gracefully. He is depicted looking or glancing down, symbolizing that Guanyin continues to watch over the world.8 This Guanyin sculpture was made around Late Song dynasty, the appearance of the bodhisattva showing the slender build, feminine curved face, even though the Guanyin is still portrayed as a male figure, it shows some transition between male and female characteristics. Later images display attributes of both genders. One interpretation of this development contends that the bodhisattva is neither male nor female but has transcended sexual distinctions, as he has all other dualities in the sphere of samsara (the temporal world). • 5. Elements Of The Labyrinth Millhauser Introduction There are few tropes that have endured and evolved as much as the labyrinth. From ancient to postmodern times, the labyrinth has evolved from a symbol of divine order to an expression of chaos. Because it is such a flexible symbol, the labyrinth has endured even as the nature of human thought has evolved. This project aims to explore the labyrinthine elements of American writer Steven Millhauser s short fiction. The idea of the labyrinth is demonstratively present in Millhauser s short fiction. However, his usage of the labyrinth is at once the same and different than preceding eras of short fiction. Postmodern short fiction in the 1960 s and 70 s utilized the labyrinthine to draw attention to its own textuality. The labyrinth was a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One important characteristic of the labyrinth is its essential interiority. The labyrinth of Greek mythology, built by Daedalus for King Minos of Crete, had a perplexing and imprisoning interior. The complexity of its interior served its function: the imprisonment of the Minotaur a half man and half bull creature. In her book The Idea of the Labyrinth, Penelope Doob traces the evolution of the labyrinth in art, culture and literature from antiquity to the middle ages. Doob observes that the labyrinth of ancient mythology was so perplexing that its maker, Daedalus, could scarcely navigate it (Doob, 36). The confusion and imprisoning nature of the mythological labyrinth points to the trope s inextricable quality: its interior ambages (Doob 66). Likewise, Hermann Kern asserts that the most important feature of the labyrinth [is]...the negative space of the path formed by those lines which determined the pattern of movement (Kern 23). Nietzsche, too, observes that the force of the labyrinth is that its meaning resides solely in its interiority (Nietzsche ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Chicago: Fitzroy Dearborn Publishers, 2001. Print. Over the preceding period, a lot of scholars have tried to explore the international proportions that underlie the Vietnam War. By way of exploring the dimensions that are related to this war, they have succeeded in nudging what is believed to be the gravity that is associated with Vietnam War erudition away from the custom fixation to the role that the United States took. In an admirably brisk and compactly written volume, Lawrence Mark does build on a trend that presents conflicting episodes of global history. He successfully creates this lively and compact trend through his roots that he bases in the extensive and extended history of Vietnam which is related to the historical conjuncture that was in existence between the Cold War and decolonization as well as emphasizing on the contributions that are critical of belligerents and other Vietnamese to the developments of the wars. America is central to Mark s story by showing how some of the actors decision such as Beijing, Hanoi, Moscow, and Saigon helped in shaping the constraints that were present (Lawrence, 65). • 7. The Price Elasticity Of Demand Price elasticity of demand is defined as a measure of the responsiveness or sensitivity of consumers to changes in the price of a good or service (Thomas Maurice, 2012, pp. 199). Mathematically, the price elasticity of demand is calculated by dividing the percentage change in quantity demanded by the percentage change in price. Demand is said to be elastic whenever the absolute value of the percentage change in quantity demanded exceeds the percentage change in price, which means the absolute value of the elasticity would be greater than one. If the absolute value of the price elasticity of demand is less than one, the demand is said to be inelastic, or less sensitive to the price change. There are various factors that affect the price elasticity of products, in the following sections these factors will be applied to the demand of desktop computers. The first factor which is the most important determinant of price elasticity of demand is the availability of substitutes (Thomas Maurice, 2012, pp. 205). For any product where quality substitutes are readily available, the price elasticity of demand will be high. For example, if the price of desktop computers was to rise by 20%, the quantity of desktop computers demanded would most likely decrease by a greater percentage. This is because consumers could easily go out and purchase laptop computer or tablets to accomplish tasks for which they needed the desktop computer. Likewise, if the price of desktop computer ... • 9. Open Court Observation On Criminal Cases I chose to do my open court observation on criminal cases. Criminal cases usually involve attorneys that try to prove their argument to the judge. I felt as though this setting would be more interesting to sit and observe versus a civil case where you have two people trying to settle a dispute. Its interesting to see how actual attorneys and judges act in a courtroom instead of what is portrayed on TV. My local courthouse which is in a police station holds preliminary hearings. A preliminary hearing is where the judge decides if there is enough evidence that there was a crime committed and you committed a crime. If the prosecutor fails to do this, then some or all the charges filed against you can be dismissed. There was two different parts to this process that I saw during my observation. The first one is when the defendant waives their hearing. Then the second being where the defendant decides to go through with the hearing. During my observation there was about ten cases, and all but two of them followed through with the hearing. This was very surprising to me as I watched because I couldn t understand why someone wouldn t want to at least see if the prosecution had sufficient evidence against them. Also it doesn t even give their lawyer a chance to argue on their behalf against the prosecution. The first formal person to walk into the courtroom was the public defender. I watched as he called out names, and spoke briefly to nearly every person in the room. My immediate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Chipotle (for short) is a company that is a major player in the fast food and restaurant industry. The name chipotle is derived from the Mexican Spanish name for a smoked, dried Jalapeno pepper. The restaurant sells large burritos and bowls in an assembly line production system where all the condiments are arranged and all the customer has to do is request what they want their burrito to consist of. This in turn lends itself to an air of individuality (creating multiple combinations and choices for the clientele). The Corporation trades under the ticker symbol CMG on the New York Stock Exchange. The most recent Fiscal Year End ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Chipotle Mexican Grill as a company is not immune to these issues and has its own fair share of challenges. The first and most important challenge facing Chipotle is the sourcing of their food ingredients. When the company first came into existence, it sourced its ingredients from every and all available sources just like all other fast food companies. This changed in 1999 after Founder Steve Ells visited a Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation (CAFOs). He was not too impressed and changed his company s food sources to organic. All of Chipotle s pork is 100% organic as well as 80% of its chicken and 85% of its beef. The company served 100% of all meat sources but had to make adjustments as demand exceeded supply. The company served over 60 million pounds of meat in 2009 and over 75 million pounds in 2010. Maintaining such high numbers in the use of organic meat and produce is next to impossible and as witnessed, the company is already incorporating non organic sources. A solution to this debacle would be to outsource organic produce from neighboring countries such as Mexico and Canada. The only foreseeable obstacle to this approach would be cost of transportation of the livestock (either alive or in a finished package ). • 11. Essay on Confronting Death in Poetry Confronting Death in Poetry Raised fists and a fading smile usually follow the confrontation of death as we experience the first stages of denial in the grieving process. We not only grieve at the loss of a loved one, but at the loss of our own life as well. When death rears its ugly head, it demands this response. Whether through art or science, humor or ritual, mankind marks and confronts this passage with both defiance and trepidation that eventually turns into acceptance and submission. The fear of death seems to be based on two things: the finality of death and the uncertainty of what follows. Many works have been written on the topic, some to offer consolation, others hope, and still others to urge readers to correct their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With this knowledge we plan our future, cherish expectations, hopes and dreams. Frost portrays that the dreams of the boy are dashed as he comes to the next stage of grieving, that of acceptance. Frost write, ...Then the boy saw all / Since he was old enough to know... / He saw all spoiled (Frost 22, 23, 25) Frost then takes the reader through a similar grieving process as the family and friends of the boy experience some, or possibly all, of the same stages of grief that the boy experienced. It is stark reminder of the lives of the ordinary and of the many families who lost many children before they reached their teenage years. Disease and the lack of medical science back then resulted in a higher death rate of young children. And then the watcher at his pulse took fright No one believed. They listened at his heart... No more to build on there. And they.... turned to their affairs. (Frost 30, 31, 33, 34) At this stage the grieving survivors cut each tie and relinquish the bonds that link them to the deceased. Frost depicts that the grieving will have to come to terms with the many life changes that may follow the boys death yet there is utter helplessness that life must go on as they turn away to their affairs. Edwin Robinson s Richard Corey takes another look at death, through the eyes of the common folk. As he spins the tale of Richard Corey, a rich man, he shows that to some the good life consists of ... Eisenhower s use of rhetoric allowed his audience to be receptive to his argument. In Eisenhower s introduction he does not construct the reality and frame the question effectively. It is clearly stated that the patient is autonomous and aware of the potential risks of refusing treatment. She is willing to accept the fact that if she does not receive the feeding tube, she will die of malnutrition. In addition, she is not consenting to the surgery and they cannot legally force her to accept treatment to have the PEG tube inserted. The conditions for consent include competence, understanding and appreciation of information, and voluntariness free from coercion, and undue influence (Young, Ch. 44). She has fulfilled the requirements for competence because the care team acknowledges that the patient recognizes that there is a decision that needs to be made, clearly understands the information and treatment options, and the risks involved with each decision (Orr, CBHD). Ever since school started hundreds of years ago it s always been a teacher in a live classroom with many students. Everything is shifting, however; and now we have transitioned into online classes as well. I have had both, and I can tell you there are many comparisons and contrasts between the two. 77% of educators believe that online learning is just as good as traditional learning, if not better, nearly 70% of all students claim online instruction to be as good as or better than a traditional classroom setting, and 26% of online students claim to learn better online than in a classroom. So clearly people aren t too against this new form of learning. Online enrollment rates are expanding at much faster rates than traditional classroom enrollment growth; specifically, in higher education, online enrollments have grown 21%, whereas growth for traditional classroom instruction registers only 2% since 2002. Traditional and Online classes have a lot of similarities and differences especially in areas like flexibility, comprehension of the course material, and discipline. This latter rain was a sign of the lasts days and the immanent return of Christ. How did they know that the latter rain was falling over them? This is where tongues manifestation is crucial. Pentecostals believe that they had received xenolalia, human language unknown to them. Thus, many believed that they were experiencing what the disciples had experience in Acts 2. Hence, their understanding of Christ immanent return together with the idea that they spoke a foreign human tongue became the springboard for such missionary burst throughout the world. Anderson points out, The idea of a world wide revival to precede the soon coming King became a prominent theme in early Pentecostalism and was an important reason for frantic mission activity that came in the movement s wake. It is widely known, that early Pentecostal missionaries and the local people suffered due to such eschatological urgency. Nevertheless, it cannot be denied that even through those sufferings God used these missionaries to spread the gospel to unimaginable places. In the last section, Lausanne Covenant agrees in principle to what is a Pentecostal understanding of the last days. Phillis Wheatley and Edgar Alan Poe s writings in many ways reflect the unique lives that they lived, and having an understanding of the two poets backgrounds can assist a reader in dissecting their manuscripts. Comparing works from the two is an easy task to handle if an avid reader decides to pursue it, and even though they lived under adverse conditions they have a way of shaping history into an intricate fashion of delicate, dark and sophisticated writing. Phillis Wheatley and Edgar Alan Poe are different in persona and literacy, but when a reader processes more of their works, one can understand how these two writers helped shape poetry for generations after and still possess an impact on the literary world. Phillis Wheatley was a young African American girl, brought to America at the age of seven to be a slave. In her time maturing in the Wheatley household, young Phillis grew rapidly intellectually and spiritually. Her faith in God and His divine nature is what inspired Wheatley to write a prominent subject in her poem On Being Brought from Africa to America. • 32. Ho Chi Minh and The Vietnam War The declaration of Vietnamese independence made by Ho Chi Minh in 1945 served as a milestone in what was a century old struggle against foreign control. In its history Vietnam had spent 1000 years under control of the Chinese and had resisted this control vehemently. Revolts and rebellions against China finally lead to Vietnamese independence in the tenth century. In the thirteenth century the Vietnamese drove back Kublai Khan three times under the leadership Dao. Tran Hung Dao not only led the Vietnamese people in driving Kublai Khan back, but did so by pioneering the guerrilla warfare methods that would later be employed against both the French and the United States. It is thus evident from this brief history of Vietnams that its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As Eisenhower took office he and his Secretary of State, John Foster Dulles, chose to agree with the assessment of Ho Chi Minh as an instrument of international communism . This view would lock the United States once more in a policy driven by fear of communism. The administration set about bolstering a war weary France with promises of additional aid, but also with demands on access to French battle plans. In March of 1954 the Vietminh s successful assault on French Garrisons left the U.S. even more in doubt concerning France s success. By the time Kennedy took office the French had withdrawn and Eisenhower had poured millions of dollars of aid into South Vietnam. The U.S. policy had a chance to shift at this point, but once again, Kennedy picked up the mantle of taking a stand against communism in Vietnam. Though the commitment at this point to forces in South Vietnam was not one of full soldiers on the ground , Kennedy still inherited a dangerous situation. Kennedy made a decision that caused yet another crucial turning point in the war in 1961 when he committed both aid and advisers, marking a giant step forward into the War in Vietnam. The U.S. policy took another hit when Kennedy ignored John Galbraith who said that the United states was becoming entrapped in a long drawn out indecisive involvement and ... • 33. A Research Study On The Expression, Publish Or Perish, Is... The expression publish or perish is the norm within all academic disciplines and researchers will not get tenured if they do not publish academic work (Miller, Taylor Bedeian, 2011; Simmons, Nelson Simonsohn, 2012; De Rond Miller, 2005). The same is true for professors applying for grants or graduate students seeking scholarships, where having more publications will set someone apart from other candidates. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as good researchers are expected to produce good research, however standards for most scholarly journals to publish an academic article mostly rely on significance (Sterling, 2012). Studies not finding significant results do not get published and are often considered failures (Cumming, 2008; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The following will discuss the replication crisis from an undergraduate student s perspective and how it affected my undergraduate journey specifically. Introductory statistics are part of the problem Initial statistical courses are exciting, as students are taught the foundations of conducting research by learning about inferential statistics. However, important topics such as power, confidence intervals and effect sizes are briefly discussed and quickly forgotten due to the large amount of new information taught in those courses. Over time, students simply learn to rely on p values, where p .05, the null hypothesis is rejected and p .05, the null hypothesis is retained. Statistics are overwhelming and a lot of practice and reading are required to fully understand how it really works. I am a fourth year student and consider myself as having a higher than average knowledge of statistics compared to most fellow students in my year, but I have a lot to learn and am aware that I still do not understand most of it. That is one reason why NHST is surviving, as it is convenient and a strong statistical knowledge is not needed to apply it in research. The point is that appropriate ways to interpret statistics and ethical research practices should be taught as early as possible to avoid the use of common unethical research practices. Next, students learn ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In addition, when copying collections of writings, scribes had to assign titles to individual Gnostic works. Once attributions with no basis in the works themselves are discounted, the number of Gnostic texts entitled gospel shrinks even further. The Valentinian entries, the Gospel of Truth and the Gospel of Philip, have no ties to the genre gospel. Valentinian teachers interpret Gospels that are common property of the larger Christian community. In the remaining cases, both the Gospel of Thomas and the Gospel of Judas have an incipit that employs a different literary designation. A later scribe took the apostle s name from the incipit to create the title. The opening pages of the Gospel of Mary have been lost. Her prominence in the second half of the text may have provided a scribe with the name for a title. None of the Gnostic tractates entitled gospel initially had that designation. Used in the oral sense for preaching a message about salvation revealed through the coming of Jesus, it is the content of their soteriology, not the term that distinguishes Gnostics from other Christians. Used in the mid second century forward for written accounts of Jesus and his teaching commonly circulated among Christians, there is no special Gnostic Gospel. Gnostic teachers rely on the range of gospel traditions being circulated among Christians, with no greater tendency than believers to exploit apocryphal Gospels. In addition, the poetics of the Gnostic universe push its teachers away from imaginative engagement with the historical or physical world such as might produce additional ... • 37. Becoming A Veterinarian Research Paper It is no secret that social media is seen as an outlet, where we can post our innermost thoughts and feelings, no matter how awful they are, and many times, without any consequence. The anonymity of social media bolsters some people to post rants, hate speech, and other offensive comments that they would almost certainly never say face to face. There have been multiple occasions throughout my life where I have witnessed people expressing such feelings on social media. However, there was one occasion in particular that has always, and will always, stick with me. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, it is my ultimate dream to become a veterinarian. This career often sees many different types of situations. Sometimes, it may be blissful and enjoyable, like when you save an abused dog from potentially dying. Other times it can be heartbreaking and unpleasant. There is no simple rule for when to express feelings. Instead, we must exercise judgment. We have an ethical obligation to make thoughtful choices about whether, when, and how to express our emotions. At times, being a veterinarian, I may want to grieve with a family over the loss of their pet or even anger if I am unable to help an animal in need. However, displaying such emotions would be extremely inappropriate and unprofessional while simultaneously violating professional norms. Instead of revealing the emotions described above, a veterinarian should exhibit strength and courage. They should be able to remain positive during even the bleakest times. For example, if I were to discover that one of my client s pets had an incurable type of cancer and would require euthanasia, I would want to remain optimistic, while providing comfort to the family and the pet during such a hard time. If the family senses my sadness or anger, they are more inclined to feel the same way as me. With that being said, if I present a positive, relaxed mood, the family would be more slanted towards those feelings. Although I would be saddened by an event such as this, it would be quite unprofessional for me to do break into tears, despite my sadness. Everyone will have to deal with negative emotions during their career, at some point or another, and learning how to cope with these feelings and which are appropriate to express is crucial to our ... • 38. Terrorism And Terrorism Attacks Intro The United States has had its share of terror attacks, whether it was a major destruction, or simpler destruction. On September 11th of 2001 (9/11), there was a major crisis after learning about the terror attacks that happened on the World Trade Center in New York. That is one of the most memorable terror attacks that took place in the Unites States. It was a series of terror attacks that took place and the Pentagon was also targeted during this time. It was determined that Islamic nations were targeting the United States to gain insight to their political views. The Islamic terrorist were so pressed on getting their points across that they didn t care about the lives that stood in their way, including their own. Thousands of people lost their lives in these two attacks alone and millions were affected. Since then, terrorism has been a clear problem that has continued to show itself over time throughout the United States. Terrorism is not limited to the United States, in fact, terrorism has been linked to different areas of the world like Pakistan, Israel, Japan, and in the Philippines. Terrorism can be anywhere from bombing, plane crashing, or just plain assassinating, as long as their means were to get a message across. One example for an assassinating shooting is the Orlando shooting that took place on June 12, 2016. • 39. Physics Of Track Essay Physics Of Track The speed at which a pendulum swings depends on the length of the pendulum, not on the amount of weight at the bottom. Your arms and legs are both pendulums. When you swing your arm, your shoulder is the top of a pendulum and your hand is at the bottom. Therefore, in order to get your pendulum (either your arms or your legs) to swing faster, you need to shorten them. When you bend either your arms or legs, you are actually shortening your pendulum because you re moving the center of gravity towards the top of the pendulum. There are many different forces acted on a sprinter in track. Wind direction can cause acceleration or deceleration of the sprinter depending on the direction of wind. Gravity can be an advantage of disadvantage to sprinters. Although gravity causes friction between the track and the sprinter s feet, sprinters have adapted to use gravity as an advantage. To do this, the sprinter leans forward. This allows gravity to work with them as leaning causes gravity to pull the sprinter forward, and make motion of the legs easier as ... The overview of my Junior year in high school was, I believe, the best school year so far both in academic and my personal achievements. As a person I had a major growth, I become more active in school in which was a huge step for me, and academically, well I ve never seen so many A s since Freshmen year, well that is if I examine only second semester but overall I felt that my grades were better than last year. This year I became a person who is more open minded, one who sees the outside world, my mind has opened a door which helped me find the inner me that was stuck in for the past 2 years of high school like if I were a bud that has finally opened. I shockley impressed at myself, willing to accept any new challenges this year which truly helped me become a better person in education and personally. Starting off the year went well for me, there was a few ups and downs but I managed to hold on tightly to complete this year. Junior year was certainly a tough challenge for me , I took AP English Language, based on all of my classes this was the most challenging to me. These cuts are called concessions. These concessions spelled the beginning of the end, because they were not enough to help the airline recover and in 1985 they were sold to a low cost carrier named People Express.
