Medical malpractice in Pakistan
Medical malpractice is defined as professional negligence by act or omission by a health care provider
in which care provided deviates from accepted standards of practice in the medical community and
causes injury or death to the patient, with most cases involving medical error (Medical Malpractice).
Although, doctors are solely held responsible for any medical malpractice in Pakistan s hospitals, but
other factors such as the role of the hospital administration towards that medical error, the
pharmaceutical companies and ignorance of the patient himself ... Show more content on

Although private hospitals have come to the rescue but most of the Pakistani population cannot afford
it as they live below the poverty line. The charges of private hospitals are very high so people prefer to
go to public or civil hospitals where they are forced to stand in long lines and facilities are also not up
to international standards. In public hospitals there is a shortage of doctors, so the ratio of patient to
doctor is very high and more often than not the doctors are unable to attend to these patients. There are
not enough nurses to see such a large number of patients. Even if there are nurses they are not fully
trained and often cause mixing error. Mixing error takes place when the medical staff such as nurses
mixes the medication of one patient with the other. This may lead to serious problems and can even
lead to death.
Other than this there is no proper documentation in Pakistan s hospitals. Documentation is essential
regarding each and every detail e.g. the number of visits made to the doctor and the dates, the various
reports of patients. The absence of any such documentation leads to many errors as a proper follow up
is mandatory and if the hospital would not keep record of all this then effective treatment cannot take
place. If the patient has been prescribed a certain course of medicine and there is no previous record of
that. This can lead the patient to repeat the course which might have serious side effects. So doctors

James Brown Identity
Identity Can i see a raise of hands, who in this room listens to music which you consider to be socially
conscious? (ie lyrics which care about social problems) How many of you here identify personally
with what these artists are saying? Socially Conscious music became very prevalent during the 1960s
and remained widespread throughout the 70s, with soul music taking over from folk music as one of
the strongest voices of protest in American music. During these eras, American young people believed
they could make a difference in their society and government. They believed that America was a
democratic society that could be made better, freer, and more just. Young people organized to end
racial inequality, obtain equal rights for women, eliminate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The song marginalises the short term effects of the drug and chooses to focus on the negative social
problems. James Brown like a lot of other soul musicians sought to identify themselves as anti drugs
and socially conscious and used song as a method to get their message across. During the height of the
civil rights movement, Brown s lyrics gave the Black community a new assertiveness and confidence
in their cultural identity. Musically this song s relaxed nature straight away makes it easy to relate to.
The song is slow in tempo and quite melancholy. It s Structure is simple and gives way for the listener
to focus on the words. James Brown vocals are spoken word yet quite rhythmic. Simon frith stated
that The experience of pop music is an experience of identity: in responding to a song, we are drawn,
haphazardly, into emotional alliances with the performers and with the performers other fans. In the
70s, people were drawn to socially conscious music and could relate to artists like James Brown and
Gil Scott Herron since they could empathise to the concepts, ideas and aesthetics that these artists

Wind Change In Black Saturday
When considering what results in a higher magnitude bushfire, it is also important to consider the
longer term events leading up to the disaster. Figure 11 illustrates that the weather events that occurred
before leading up to Black Saturday can be strongly linked to the large amount of destruction caused.
From both figures, it can be noted that a wind change affected the path and development of fires. In
the case of Black Saturday, this extended the fire front, increasing the magnitude of the disaster. It is
believed that the wind change of the Crib Point fire helped to prevent a large amount of destruction in
some areas, while causing it some in others. With this being said, the wind change in Crib point
prevented it from advancing so quickly,

American Socialism And Communism
Bernie Sanders official campaign website boasts proudly of the candidate s stance on workers rights.
American socialism historically holds links with American mass labor. Socialism migrated to the
American continent with the immigrants of the nineteenth century. With the progress of
industrialization, immigrants both climbed the economic ladder and labored in the newly created
factories and stores, a level of economic diversity the senator likely finds grossly unfair. * Due to
deplorable labor conditions in certain industries, socialist voices gained an audience. Eugene Debs,
founder of the Socialist Party in America and its many time candidate for president, made this
statement; One question is sufficient to determine the true status

The Importance Of Setting In Blood Red Horse
The setting creates challenges and opportunities for characters. For example when Ellie was left
vulnerable and when the climber in the poem Ascent has finger pain. In all different genres, setting
affects the text whether it s physical challenges or emotional challenges.
In the novel Blood Red Horse, the author, K.M Grant, uses the setting to add conflict, challenges, and
opportunities to the story. In Blood Red Horse the setting, which is in the time of the crusades, affects
the character Ellie as it leaves her defenseless. In Blood Red Horse, the author writes, I do know you
can no longer marry Gavin De Granville. This means you will be fair game for knights on the prowl

Research Paper On Absenteeism
Abstract. The most parsimonious definition of absenteeism is the failure to report to work (Robbins,
2003). In general, absenteeism is a tendency to be away from work or school without a good reason.
Absence nowadays cannot be differentiated from the person who was called a student. This
phenomena, it is comfortable to see even likened it has become a necessity in the nature of students. It
is not surprising if this habit continues to fall proceeds among school students as examples of primary,
secondary and even at university level, the problem still remains. Other than that, in the working
sector also facing the absenteeism problems which the employees tend to cut their work without a

serious. Some of the student attend a class a few times in a week, some of them only attend to the
class based on the topic that they wish. These situation actually should not be going on. As a student
they should know how to differentiate between the pros and cons of not attending to the class. In
addition, the bad attitudes will influence the CGPA of the student academic. According to
(Schmidt,1983), absenteeism affects the students ability to get high scores in examinations which can
cause the decreasing of grades or the student may fail and will cause him or her to repeat the same
year level. On the other hand, students who have spent time attending lectures or classes have a

Qhetorical Analysis Of Isabella Bird s Lake Tahoe
Journalist, Isabella Bird, in her journal, Lake Tahoe, expresses her feelings about Lake Tahoe and the
journey there. Bird s purpose is to outline her trip and journey to Lake Tahoe. She adopts a nostalgic
tone in order to express her feelings to her readers.
Bird opens her journal, on September second, by describing what Lake Tahoe looks like in her eyes. It
was not lovable, like the Sandwich Islands, but beautiful in it s own way! she is saying that Lake
Tahoe is not beautiful in looks however, it is more beautiful than what meets the eye. Lake Tahoe is
before me, a sheet of water twenty two miles long by ten broad, and in some places 1,700 feet deep. It
lies at a height of 6,000 feet and the snow crowned summits which wall it in are from 8,000 to 11,000
feet in altitude. The air is keen and elastic. There is no sound but the distant and slightly musical ring
of the lumberman s axe. She is describing how Lake Tahoe looks and the atmosphere. Bird is
describing her emotions about Lake Tahoe by using diction with the words keen and elastic when
describing the air.
Shifting to the journey to Lake Tahoe Bird uses comparison by using details that describe what she
sees on her journey to Lake Tahoe. driving to the Oakland ferry through streets with side walks heaped
with thousands of cantaloupe and water melons, tomatoes, cucumbers, squashes, pears, grapes,
peaches, apricots all of startling size as compared with any I ever saw before. Other streets were piled

Common Types of Resistance to Project Portfolio Management
Common types of resistance to project portfolio management Project portfolio management can
enable an organization to prune redundant or overlapping projects, use resources more effectively and
to keep closer watch on projects progress to ensure projects do not go over budget or overtime
(Solomon 2002:1). However, despite the technique s obvious advantages, it can meet with profound
resistance when it is implemented in practice. Turf wars are common at many organizations, in which
representatives of various departments jockey for scarce resources. Every department has its pet
projects that it may fear losing to overly rigorous scrutiny.
A member of one project may be angry if he or she perceives another project to be favored during the
portfolio management process, particularly if it is made up of members of a rival department. Portfolio
management means continually evaluating which projects can maximize value for the organization,
and there will inevitably be bruised feelings if a project is shuttled or reprioritized. Resistance in such
instances may take the form of open complaints, as members of the offended team going over the
heads of supervisors to upper level management to complain. Or resistance may take a more subtle
form, as workers complain behind the backs of managers about the members of the other projects they
believe have been given more favorable status. Passive resistance, or refusing to work without directly
challenging managers or complaining, can

Post Graduation Plans
After graduation my ideal plan would be to go into an industry career. I want to get into an
engineering related job first to provide myself with some experience in that aspect of the field. I want
to be selective in choosing the company that I begin my career with. I want to ensure that the company
that I choose has a program related that aids in helping their employees get advanced degrees. During
my first year in my career I want to get into a master s degree program either focusing on engineering
or cyber security. I know there is a market for black women in both of those aspects of computer
science so I want to tailor myself so that I am a candidate that is highly sought after. This summer I

can add to my resume that will show that I am a great candidate for any position I apply to. This
should be happening all year long. | Apply for jobs I plan for my job hunt to include companies other
than Boeing; including IBM, Microsoft, Apple, Google, JP Morgan, Bank of America, etc. This should
be happening all year long. | Interview for jobs I plan on doing a lot of preparation for interview
especially with Technical interviews so that I am never caught outside of my element and I prove that
I can accomplish anything that is thrown at me. | Hopefully receive job offers I would like to be doing
the interview process throughout the entire year and have options by May 18th, 2013 | Select the offer

Regular Expression Of A Web App
Regular Expression To FSM Web App
3.1 Algorithm
3.1.1 Regular Expression Parsing
I built my own parser which will suit the recursive nature of my regular expression to Finite State
Machine Algorithm. To parse the regular expression, first, the expression is converted from infix to
prefix form. To convert from prefix to infix form, the string is read from the back and on meeting an
operator, it is pushed to an operator stack if top of operator stack has lower precedence than the read
operator else pop it to append to front of output string. If an operand is met, simply append it to
beginning of the output string.
After converting the expression to prefix, second step is to construct expression tree where each inner
node including root node has operator as its value and the leaf nodes are operands. The entire infix
string is read from the end. If the character is an operand it is pushed to the operand stack else if an
operator is read, operands are popped from the operand stack and assigned as left and right child of
node with having the operator as the node value and pushed again into the stack. Since the backward
construction algorithm is recursive in nature, such a syntax tree makes it more suitable for the
algorithm where expression will be taken as input.
3.1.2 Regular Expression To FSM Backward Construction
After converting input expression to prefix and constructing expression tree, next steps is to
implement the Backward Construction algorithm for

1. The client is essentially begging for help. The client may not have anywhere else to turn and wants
to be taken seriously. The client likely believes that if she does not present severely, then she will be
dismissed and not get the help she desires. 2. The client has a tendency to exaggerate, overreact,

depression. There is likely not any benefit to the client, unless she is merely seeking attention. 3. The

Additionally, without interview data, most psychological assessments are virtually meaningless. 2.
Psychological Tests/Assessments: These measures typically identify a wide range of explicit
information about the client, such as attitudes, opinions, beliefs, and knowledge/facts. They also help
evaluate the client s level of functioning in comparison to the norm group. This is particularly
important in informing the diagnosis and treatment of the client. 3. Informant Reports: This involves
interviewing people who know the client, such as family members, friends, and teachers. These
reports can be helpful because they can provide different perspectives of the client. They may also
inform the clinician if the client s behaviors generalize across settings. 4. Records: By obtaining client
records, whether previous mental health records, medical records, legal records, or school records, the
clinician may find important information that the client did not report. Overall, incorporating several
different sources of information allows for a more comprehensive understanding of the client, which
leads to more accurate and effective diagnosis and treatment. An empirically grounded approach uses
the method of contrasted groups in order to create a measure that differentiates between groups. This
typically involves administering several items to two different groups, such as patients with

Research Report On The Red Line Essay
Figure # 6 Stress is the result of both trends and events in climate (Jentsch et al. 2007). The red line
indicates a shifting baseline level of forest stress through time due to an increasing trend in
temperature; the grey line represents stress changes due to multi year oscillations in precipitation and
temperature that are inherent in the climate system, producing stress events like extreme droughts and
heat waves. Atmospheric warming increases both baseline and extreme drought stresses through time,
thereby driving elevated tree mortality vulnerability. Increasing temperature alone drives greater forest
drought stress (Adams et al. 2009, Williams et al. 2013), and because temperature is increasing
chronically, so is forest stress. Swings in forest drought stress push forests closer (or further) from the
historical mortality threshold (dashed black line), but given the chronic increase in forest stress
associated with ongoing anthropogenic warming, the frequency, magnitude, and duration of these
swings above the mortality threshold increase through time. If unabated, chronic warming eventually
will cause even relatively wet periods to exceed the mortality stress threshold for present day forests
(Allen, Breshears, McDowell, 2015).
Mr. Anderegg designed a model that quantified drought stress as climatic water deficit (CWD) the
difference between plant water demand, which is determined by atmospheric water demand (here,
potential evapotranspiration, (PET), and plant

Sameness In The Real World
In this community everyone is the same, these people won t want what their friends have, if they
already have it or going to get it. In the real world, people have different items. Someone will have
something that they do not have and then they may try to get it. If everyone were the same and had the

get the same items at different ages, but eventually they will get it. There would also be no jealousy if
everyone had the same things and looked similar. Sameness prevents bullying since clothes and

Also in the community, people don t pick who they want to marry. This is good so no one will divorce

William Wright s Statue Of Friendship
When walking through the quad here at ISU, William Wright s bronze sculpture Hand of Friendship
(1967) is one of many that will never go unnoticed. The position and realization of an actual hand in
which it depicts resembles great artistic ability and effort. My initial impression was positive because
it helped me realize one of many things that this university stands for friendship . There are plenty of
students who may sometimes feel left out or friendless on a daily basis and this statue speaks great
value. To me, it gives a sense on welcoming and acceptance for all considering that thousands pass
through the quad every day. It also shows the values of this particular class in 1967 half of a century
ago which still stand to this day.
As mentioned previously, the structure and design of this sculpture exposes the time and effort put into
the creation. The color which is a very dull green reminds me of the Statue of Liberty, a famous work
of art that we ve talked a great deal on this semester. Originally, the Statue of Liberty was brown

first method is sand bagging. Sand Bagging involves failing to open accounts by customers at their
requested date, instead accumulating accounts to open in the next sales period to inflate profits.
Another practice was called Pinning which was creating pin numbers without customer s
authorization, and attaching them to credit cards. Then employees would impersonate customers on
Wells Fargo s computers and use these pin numbers to create online banking and bills for customers.
Finally, a practice called bundling was done where Wells Fargo employees would mislead customers
saying that certain banking products were only available in bundles which forced customers to add
more products than they wanted. So, one wonders, how could this have happened? Why did high
expectations of sales lead to unethical, almost criminal behaviour? This is tied to Goal Setting theory.
Goal setting theory, created by Edwin Locke, states that employees are motivated by clear goals, and
appropriate feedback. Individuals that were given clear, specific and difficult goals had greater
performance than individuals given general and easy goals. However, research has shown that setting
unattainable and challenging goals can lead to risky or even unethical behaviour. A study done by

The Problem Of Drunk Driving
The American people take billions of car trips each year. With all these people driving, crashes are
inevitable and unfortunately, one of every three traffic deaths involves drunk driving. The world
knows that drunk driving is a serious issue and that it claims too many innocent lives year by year.
State governments have taken some steps to reduce the number of drunk driving incidents, yet the cost
remains too high. The news of a drunk driving crash grows more appalling when people learn that
sometimes, these drivers are in fact repeat offenders to whom the government has already dealt
punishments. About one third of the problem involves repeat offenders ( About Drunk Driving ) and it
is all the more concerning because these individuals were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

2. Body of Discussion
2.1 What are NoSQL Databases
NoSQL databases are databases designed to run on clusters of computers/servers, built for the ever
increasing data storage needs for websites. Devised as a way of scaling databases horizontally which
is a challenge with traditional relational databases. Scaling horizontally is the ability to add more
computers/servers as nodes to a database. These clusters work well with write heavy systems and
allow increase storage and processing power limited only by the number of connections you can have
on the network. Defined as No Schema, No SQL data structures mean they are not limited to the
original data structure. Objects and fields etc can be implemented at

Civil War Nurse Research Paper
Civil War Nurses Problems Is a woman naturally weaker than a man? Medical research has shown that
physically women are weaker than men in terms of muscles, blood level, and brain size. But socially
women were made weaker by male dominated society. Women were bounded between two walls of
the home. They were limited in domestic work like cooking, taking care of children, cleaning house,
and washing clothes. War brought political, social, and economic change in women. Women played a
role of back supporter for men during the war. Women started handling the agriculture, running
commercial activities and other jobs that were used to be carried out by men before. Not only that
woman helped men in making the weapons for war, providing the raw material ... Show more content

The duties and responsibility of nurses at that time was different from the present. Rebecca Usher of
Maine has explained that women nurses were not given the medical assistance job rather they were
made focused on sanitation of wounded soldiers. Their job is to wash the clothes of ill soldiers, make
food for them, distributing for them and some get the chance of helping the soldiers by reading and
writing letters to their family. A woman from the rich family was only able to get the chance to be
nurses at that time because they were accessed with the people of the hospital. In comparison to male
nurses, women nurses were given low level jobs. Women were given less chance than men. Only a
few male from middle class and upper class family could get a job. Among these middle class also
women close to the superintendent were able to get a job. In the introduction on pg. iv paragraph

The Differences Between The And The British Welfare State
Welfare state in a country is essential for the economic and social well being of their citizen, this is
also historically a very important achievement for the inhabitant who are supported in case of need.
Welfare state is different in every nation and there are four models in Europe: the Nordic model, the
Continental model, the Anglo Saxon model and the Mediterranean model. Because of these
differences it would be interesting to make a contrast between two of them, as among the Italian
Welfare state and the British welfare state, in order to understand the weaknesses and strengths of both
the systems.
The Mediterranean model includes the Italian welfare state, in which the ideal of family has a central
role, in facts it is the main resort of this system. Family has the responsibility of children and elderly
people and the state has only a marginal function, which is assist them in doing this task. The six main
pillars of this system are the health care, the social security, the education, the housing, the
unemployment and the pension.
On the other hand, there is the Anglo Saxon Model, which main purpose is the prevention of poverty
and social exclusion. This model was built upon the proposal of Lord Beveridge, who in 1942
declared that there were five giants on the road to reconstruction , those were poverty, disease,
ignorance, squalor and idleness. After World War II Beveridge proposed an idea of welfare state,
which was based on social security, National Health

The Effects of Black Death
The Effects of Black Death
Black death was a bubonic plague, which took the lives of millions of people in the mid 1300s. This
plague was caused by a bacterium called Yersinia pestis, which lived in fleas. Therefore, transmitting
the bacteria to its rodent hosts every time they would feed. The bacteria then killed the rodents leaving
the fleas without hosts to feed on and in result they would feed on the humans. (Bailey 7 12) Most
people who were infected would last two to three days before they died, no longer than two to three
weeks. The plague moved rapidly, medical researchers believe it could have moved as fast as eight to
twelve miles a day. The plague was first encountered in China and it spread through Asia and into

make more money. The fees had gone so high that the people began to complain to the archbishop of
Canterbury Simon Islip, an he in response issued the constitution Effrenata on May 28th, 1350, which
it aimed to keep the priests from charging excessive amounts of money for their services during the
plague. The constitution was called Effrenata because that was the first word of the document, which
it meant, unbridled as in unbridled greed of the human race . Islip s intention to help the people
through the constitution of Effrenata did not have much success due to greedy priests taking advantage
of those in need. (Byrne 68)
Another aspect of life that was highly affected was society. During the plague and after the plague
society s values and faith began to change. When the Black Death began taking the lives of the clergy
just as well as everyone else, society began to wonder if the clergy were as powerful and as united to
God as they had once believed, because no matter their prayer the plague was still raging. The people
lost faith in the clergy and by the end of the plague the Church had lost its authority, not only for the

Abstract
This experiment is to determine the concentration of oxidizing solution using the iodine/ thiosulphate
titration where the reducing solution is potassium iodate solution and the oxidizing solution is sodium
thiosulphate solution. Potassium iodate solution which is an oxidizing agent is added into an excess
solution of acidified potassium iodide. This reaction will release iodine. Potassium iodide is acidified
with sulphuric acid and the iodine released quickly titrated with sodium thiosulphate until it become

Biological Bases Of Emotion
Emotion is a complex, subjective experience accompanied by biological and behavioral changes.
Emotion involves feeling, thinking, activation of the nervous system, physiological changes, and
behavioral changes in human s such as facial expressions. People in different cultures can identify the
six basic emotions: happiness, sadness, anger, fear, surprise, and disgust. The physiological indicators
of emotion are similar in people from different cultures. In some researches people who can see and
people who have been blind since birth have similar facial expressions of emotions. This observation

Expressiveness In A Youtube Video Of Corelli s Christmas...
Expressiveness is something that communicates a well defined mood. In music, this is done by
making notes mean something. With this, the audience doesn t just hear music. They feel it. In a
Youtube video of Corelli s Christmas Concerto, an ensemble does this through many different ways.
First, they made use of transitions. At 1:02, the players changed over into a faster tempo than before.
The opposite is done at 1:22, where the change of tempo is done with one single note. The legato that
dominates much of the music conveys a sense of calmness. On the other hand, the staccato esque
section and fast tempo from 1:02 to 1:22 creates a sense of tension in the piece. These two moods
contrast each other and add another sense of dimension to the music.

Contemporary Utopia
Utopia ideals and projects are barely in the discussion of contemporary architecture projects and

cities? Utopian method to approach urban planning are rarely introduced in the current projects.
Currently, city planners and designers seem to have no interest in understanding the relationship
between utopian thinking and urban planning. It all seems that the lack of interest in utopian thinking
in the present days are result of the evolution of time, as present days no longer has the ability to be

Similarities between the roles of a PSO and police member include; their strong focus towards safety,

Myth Functions As A Source Of Expression In Our Lives,
Myth functions as a source of expression in our lives, whether it be value, worldview or even how our
very own gender roles are impacted. Myth can allow particular behavior in response to how we
perceive and deal with the myth itself. If we accept the myth, we could potentially use it to cope with
life in general. Though fiction, myth gives our lives this sense of an exterior, or hidden human life that
is capable of giving our lives more meaning. Often times, and in the case for this paper, a sense of
feminism, the symbolism of the woman warrior speaks as the theme of myth.
To first compare this sense of myth into the reality of our daily lives, I d like to first look at Joseph
Campbell s theory in which signififies this expression of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Or perhaps, consider the passage here, where Campbell makes it aware that from our dreams, we can
begin to learn about ourselves, For example, you may be worried about whether you are going to pass
an exam. Then you have a dream of some kind of failure, and you find that failure will be associated
with many other failures in your life. They are all piled up together there. Freud says even the most
fully expounded dream is not really fully expounded. The dream is an inexhaustible source of spiritual
information about yourself. Now the level of dream of will I pass the exam? or Should I marry this
girl? that is purely personal. But, on another level, the problem f passing an exam is not simply a
personal problem. Everyone has to pass a threshold of some kind. That is an archetypal thing. So there
is a basic mythological theme there even though it is a personal dream. These two levels the personal
aspect and then the big general problem of which the person s problem is a local example are found in
all cultures. For example, everyone has the problem of facing death. This is a standard mystery. From
this passage, Campbell gets a bit technical and personal on a different level than we would suggest
when we think of mythology. But I enjoy his perspective, how we are so intertwined with our dreams
and how our memories can identify us in such a way that we are thrown off of reality.

born two thirds god and one third man, automatically making him different than his people. Then said
hero receives a call to adventure, otherworldly help, they typically face many challenges and

Challenges Faced By The Indian Banking Sector Essay

has performed extremely well over the last few years and has shown substantial resilience during the
global financial crisis (Das et al 2011), new challenges are seen emerging from customers. The
challenges posed are mainly due to changes in customer demands and diffusion in loyalty intentions
due to low switching costs. The parameters critical in the imparting customer satisfaction in the
banking context, thus demands re definition and analysis for formulating strategies aimed at
competitive advantage. Empirical evidences from studies conducted in various contexts underlines the
causal linkage among variables such as perceived service quality and customer satisfaction on loyalty

United States Navy SEAL Team Six is the most elite group of soldiers. What sets SEALs apart is our

Obama authorized Operation Geronimo. The operation sent two teams of SEALs into Abbotabad,

Is Huck Finn Effective
Huck Finn : Effectiveness of Character Mark Twain of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn presents a
main character, Huck, an orphan who grew up in an abusive home environment. Huck demonstrates
his will to survive in spite of these difficulties through his mental strength and knowledge. His nature,
lacking in sophistication or understanding of the world around him, allows him to effectively narrate
and also receive admiration from others. Huck s individualistic, as opposed to conformist, mentality
makes him effective at conveying the story s message. In the novel, Huck appears naive of the world
around him; he does not demonstrate awareness of the possible consequences of helping out a black

A Short Note On Automated Car Braking System
Title: Automated car braking system.
Name: BARID, KHURSHEDUL
ID: 13 24026 2
Motivation:
Literature Review:
Automated vehicles are important part of intelligent systems. The main goal of intelligent system is
introduce more automatic features in vehicles by adapting sophisticated control systems, sensors and
computers. These features may vary from vehicles , to a fully automated vehicle where the driver and
passengers are not part of the control system. Partially or fully automated vehicles may be part of
system architectures that include the highways.
Such architectures have been shown to have strong potential for dramatically increasing the capacity
of freeways[l 51 and improving the smoothness of traffic flows [5].
An important component of AVCS is to design control systems for controlling the throttle and brake
so that the vehicle can follow the speed response of the leading vehicle and at the same time keep a
safe intervehicle spacing under the constraint of comfortable driving [6].
Studies on automatic vehicle following go as far back as 1970 s [7 81 where throttle and brake
controllers were designed based on simple point mass vehicle models. More complicated vehicle
models were used in the design of automatic vehicle following controllers in
[6,9] where constant intervehicle spacing is desired at all speeds. In order to achieve platoon stability
with desired constant intervehicle spacing, vehicle to vehicle communication was shown to be
necessary [9,10]. In [5], it

Medical Malpractice in Pakitan Roll Number: 2014 02 0433 Name: Mohammad Mudassar Javed Course: SS 100 Instructor: Razia Waseem (sec 1) 13th May 2011 Medical malpractice in Pakistan Medical malpractice is defined as professional negligence by act or omission by a health care provider in which care provided deviates from accepted standards of practice in the medical community and causes injury or death to the patient, with most cases involving medical error (Medical Malpractice). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although private hospitals have come to the rescue but most of the Pakistani population cannot afford it as they live below the poverty line. The charges of private hospitals are very high so people prefer to go to public or civil hospitals where they are forced to stand in long lines and facilities are also not up to international standards. In public hospitals there is a shortage of doctors, so the ratio of patient to doctor is very high and more often than not the doctors are unable to attend to these patients. There are not enough nurses to see such a large number of patients. Even if there are nurses they are not fully trained and often cause mixing error. Mixing error takes place when the medical staff such as nurses mixes the medication of one patient with the other. This may lead to serious problems and can even lead to death. Other than this there is no proper documentation in Pakistan s hospitals. Documentation is essential regarding each and every detail e.g. the number of visits made to the doctor and the dates, the various reports of patients. The absence of any such documentation leads to many errors as a proper follow up is mandatory and if the hospital would not keep record of all this then effective treatment cannot take place. If the patient has been prescribed a certain course of medicine and there is no previous record of that. This can lead the patient to repeat the course which might have serious side effects. Socially Conscious music became very prevalent during the 1960s and remained widespread throughout the 70s, with soul music taking over from folk music as one of the strongest voices of protest in American music. During these eras, American young people believed they could make a difference in their society and government. Musically this song s relaxed nature straight away makes it easy to relate to. The song is slow in tempo and quite melancholy. Figure 11 illustrates that the weather events that occurred before leading up to Black Saturday can be strongly linked to the large amount of destruction caused. From both figures, it can be noted that a wind change affected the path and development of fires. In the case of Black Saturday, this extended the fire front, increasing the magnitude of the disaster. Bird s purpose is to outline her trip and journey to Lake Tahoe. She adopts a nostalgic tone in order to express her feelings to her readers. Bird opens her journal, on September second, by describing what Lake Tahoe looks like in her eyes. It was not lovable, like the Sandwich Islands, but beautiful in it s own way! she is saying that Lake Tahoe is not beautiful in looks however, it is more beautiful than what meets the eye. Lake Tahoe is before me, a sheet of water twenty two miles long by ten broad, and in some places 1,700 feet deep. It lies at a height of 6,000 feet and the snow crowned summits which wall it in are from 8,000 to 11,000 feet in altitude. The air is keen and elastic. There is no sound but the distant and slightly musical ring of the lumberman s axe. She is describing how Lake Tahoe looks and the atmosphere. Bird is describing her emotions about Lake Tahoe by using diction with the words keen and elastic when describing the air. Shifting to the journey to Lake Tahoe Bird uses comparison by using details that describe what she sees on her journey to Lake Tahoe. driving to the Oakland ferry through streets with side walks heaped with thousands of cantaloupe and water melons, tomatoes, cucumbers, squashes, pears, grapes, peaches, apricots all of startling size as compared with any I ever saw before. • 10. Common Types of Resistance to Project Portfolio Management Common types of resistance to project portfolio management Project portfolio management can enable an organization to prune redundant or overlapping projects, use resources more effectively and to keep closer watch on projects progress to ensure projects do not go over budget or overtime (Solomon 2002:1). However, despite the technique s obvious advantages, it can meet with profound resistance when it is implemented in practice. Turf wars are common at many organizations, in which representatives of various departments jockey for scarce resources. Every department has its pet projects that it may fear losing to overly rigorous scrutiny. A member of one project may be angry if he or she perceives another project to be favored during the portfolio management process, particularly if it is made up of members of a rival department. Portfolio management means continually evaluating which projects can maximize value for the organization, and there will inevitably be bruised feelings if a project is shuttled or reprioritized. Resistance in such instances may take the form of open complaints, as members of the offended team going over the heads of supervisors to upper level management to complain. Or resistance may take a more subtle form, as workers complain behind the backs of managers about the members of the other projects they believe have been given more favorable status. Passive resistance, or refusing to work without directly challenging managers or complaining, can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Regular Expression Of A Web App Regular Expression To FSM Web App 3.1 Algorithm 3.1.1 Regular Expression Parsing I built my own parser which will suit the recursive nature of my regular expression to Finite State Machine Algorithm. To parse the regular expression, first, the expression is converted from infix to prefix form. To convert from prefix to infix form, the string is read from the back and on meeting an operator, it is pushed to an operator stack if top of operator stack has lower precedence than the read operator else pop it to append to front of output string. If an operand is met, simply append it to beginning of the output string. After converting the expression to prefix, second step is to construct expression tree where each inner node including root node has operator as its value and the leaf nodes are operands. The entire infix string is read from the end. If the character is an operand it is pushed to the operand stack else if an operator is read, operands are popped from the operand stack and assigned as left and right child of node with having the operator as the node value and pushed again into the stack. Since the backward construction algorithm is recursive in nature, such a syntax tree makes it more suitable for the algorithm where expression will be taken as input. 3.1.2 Regular Expression To FSM Backward Construction After converting input expression to prefix and constructing expression tree, next steps is to implement the Backward Construction algorithm for ... • 17. Research Report On The Red Line Essay Figure # 6 Stress is the result of both trends and events in climate (Jentsch et al. 2007). The red line indicates a shifting baseline level of forest stress through time due to an increasing trend in temperature; the grey line represents stress changes due to multi year oscillations in precipitation and temperature that are inherent in the climate system, producing stress events like extreme droughts and heat waves. Atmospheric warming increases both baseline and extreme drought stresses through time, thereby driving elevated tree mortality vulnerability. Increasing temperature alone drives greater forest drought stress (Adams et al. 2009, Williams et al. 2013), and because temperature is increasing chronically, so is forest stress. Swings in forest drought stress push forests closer (or further) from the historical mortality threshold (dashed black line), but given the chronic increase in forest stress associated with ongoing anthropogenic warming, the frequency, magnitude, and duration of these swings above the mortality threshold increase through time. If unabated, chronic warming eventually will cause even relatively wet periods to exceed the mortality stress threshold for present day forests (Allen, Breshears, McDowell, 2015). Mr. Anderegg designed a model that quantified drought stress as climatic water deficit (CWD) the difference between plant water demand, which is determined by atmospheric water demand (here, potential evapotranspiration, (PET), and plant ... The Differences Between The And The British Welfare State Welfare state in a country is essential for the economic and social well being of their citizen, this is also historically a very important achievement for the inhabitant who are supported in case of need. Welfare state is different in every nation and there are four models in Europe: the Nordic model, the Continental model, the Anglo Saxon model and the Mediterranean model. Because of these differences it would be interesting to make a contrast between two of them, as among the Italian Welfare state and the British welfare state, in order to understand the weaknesses and strengths of both the systems. The Mediterranean model includes the Italian welfare state, in which the ideal of family has a central role, in facts it is the main resort of this system. Family has the responsibility of children and elderly people and the state has only a marginal function, which is assist them in doing this task. The six main pillars of this system are the health care, the social security, the education, the housing, the unemployment and the pension. On the other hand, there is the Anglo Saxon Model, which main purpose is the prevention of poverty and social exclusion. This model was built upon the proposal of Lord Beveridge, who in 1942 declared that there were five giants on the road to reconstruction , those were poverty, disease, ignorance, squalor and idleness. With this, the audience doesn t just hear music. They feel it. In a Youtube video of Corelli s Christmas Concerto, an ensemble does this through many different ways. First, they made use of transitions. At 1:02, the players changed over into a faster tempo than before. The opposite is done at 1:22, where the change of tempo is done with one single note. The legato that dominates much of the music conveys a sense of calmness. On the other hand, the staccato esque section and fast tempo from 1:02 to 1:22 creates a sense of tension in the piece. These two moods contrast each other and add another sense of dimension to the music. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Myth Functions As A Source Of Expression In Our Lives, Myth functions as a source of expression in our lives, whether it be value, worldview or even how our very own gender roles are impacted. Myth can allow particular behavior in response to how we perceive and deal with the myth itself. If we accept the myth, we could potentially use it to cope with life in general. Though fiction, myth gives our lives this sense of an exterior, or hidden human life that is capable of giving our lives more meaning. Often times, and in the case for this paper, a sense of feminism, the symbolism of the woman warrior speaks as the theme of myth. To first compare this sense of myth into the reality of our daily lives, I d like to first look at Joseph Campbell s theory in which signififies this expression of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Or perhaps, consider the passage here, where Campbell makes it aware that from our dreams, we can begin to learn about ourselves, For example, you may be worried about whether you are going to pass an exam. Then you have a dream of some kind of failure, and you find that failure will be associated with many other failures in your life. They are all piled up together there. Freud says even the most fully expounded dream is not really fully expounded. The dream is an inexhaustible source of spiritual information about yourself. Now the level of dream of will I pass the exam? or Should I marry this girl? that is purely personal. But, on another level, the problem f passing an exam is not simply a personal problem. Everyone has to pass a threshold of some kind. That is an archetypal thing. So there is a basic mythological theme there even though it is a personal dream. These two levels the personal aspect and then the big general problem of which the person s problem is a local example are found in all cultures. For example, everyone has the problem of facing death. This is a standard mystery. From this passage, Campbell gets a bit technical and personal on a different level than we would suggest when we think of mythology. But I enjoy his perspective, how we are so intertwined with our dreams and how our memories can identify us in such a way that we are thrown off of reality. Now lending this ... Challenges Faced By The Indian Banking Sector Essay CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION The financial crisis in 2008 brought about drastic changes in customer behavior all over the world and encouraged customers to take a shifted action towards their needs and wants (Mansoor and Jalal 2011). In the age of globalisation, as no nation can keep itself aloof from the world economic volatility, India too, was affected significantly in economical as well as social dimensions. The economic turmoil had a profound impact on consumers (Flatters and Willmott 2009) and most of the firms including ones in financial sector faced serious challenges in satisfying the customers as they have became more skeptic and cautious. Even though, the Indian banking sector has performed extremely well over the last few years and has shown substantial resilience during the global financial crisis (Das et al 2011), new challenges are seen emerging from customers. The challenges posed are mainly due to changes in customer demands and diffusion in loyalty intentions due to low switching costs. The parameters critical in the imparting customer satisfaction in the banking context, thus demands re definition and analysis for formulating strategies aimed at competitive advantage. Empirical evidences from studies conducted in various contexts underlines the causal linkage among variables such as perceived service quality and customer satisfaction on loyalty intentions of the customer. However, consumer behavior being complex in nature influenced by environmental changes, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Name: BARID, KHURSHEDUL ID: 13 24026 2 Motivation: Literature Review: Automated vehicles are important part of intelligent systems. The main goal of intelligent system is introduce more automatic features in vehicles by adapting sophisticated control systems, sensors and computers. These features may vary from vehicles , to a fully automated vehicle where the driver and passengers are not part of the control system. Partially or fully automated vehicles may be part of system architectures that include the highways. Such architectures have been shown to have strong potential for dramatically increasing the capacity of freeways[l 51 and improving the smoothness of traffic flows [5]. An important component of AVCS is to design control systems for controlling the throttle and brake so that the vehicle can follow the speed response of the leading vehicle and at the same time keep a safe intervehicle spacing under the constraint of comfortable driving [6]. Studies on automatic vehicle following go as far back as 1970 s [7 81 where throttle and brake controllers were designed based on simple point mass vehicle models. More complicated vehicle models were used in the design of automatic vehicle following controllers in [6,9] where constant intervehicle spacing is desired at all speeds. In order to achieve platoon stability with desired constant intervehicle spacing, vehicle to vehicle communication was shown to be necessary [9,10]. In [5], it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
