Within our Jamaican schools the guidance counseling programmes are designed to implement core
principles as stated by the Jamaican school curriculum. Guidance counsellors are the ones who play
the role of effectively analyzing and implementing these programmes which ensure that all students
are well prepared to manage these exciting times ; every student needs support and guidance. This is
imperative as they embark upon the academic, social, spiritual and developmental challenges of
adolescence; a time of rapid growth and change. Our guidance and counselling programmes offer
students the opportunity to develop these characteristics necessary to become successful adults in a
fast changing world. The primary goal of guidance and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Ministry of Education (2009) outlines the major components that comprise roles and functions as:
preventative, interventive, supportive administrative and pro professional development. In order to
help Jamaican students make the transition from childhood to adulthood, the guidance counsellor s
role is integral in this quest towards the holistic development of these students. How important are
these roles and functions in the development of our children, our future? This essay seeks to outline
the major roles and functions of a guidance counsellor in our Jamaica school setting and also to
examine some of the factors which negatively impact the guidance counsellor in his or her quest
towards fulfilling these roles.
As a guidance counsellor the implementation of all the components geared towards the holistic
development of students must be considered and implemented. These should be ongoing and emphasis
should be placed on classroom guidance as well as group and individual counselling. Ministry of
Education (2009) coined preventive measures as proactive initiatives implemented to deter the onset
of individual and group problems.
These measures and strategies will provide students and others the opportunities to learn skills of
conflict resolution and reduction. Guidance Counsellors are able to assist in the planning,
implementing and coordinating of orientation designed to

The Purpose Of Art And Its Felicity
Joseph Anton Koch The purpose of art and its felicity lies both in its aesthetic quality as well is the
instructive capacity of art, wherein the various perspectives employed by artist s help to understand
the particular period in which the work was created and the influences that may have attributed to the
final product. The early 19th century in Europe was marked by a desire to return to the classicism of
the Greek and Roman empires as it connoted a sense of stability after the upheaval of the French
revolution which had brought down existing social, political and economic structures to an end. The
work ofJoseph Anton Koch, a German painter who chose to live in Rome and imbibe the traditions of
the classicists shows in his work a clear attachment to the values of linear composition and idyllic
subject matter and this is clearly apparent in his monumental workHeroic Landscape with Rainbow,
now a part of the European gallery at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York City. This work is
an apt illustration of the manner in which the neoclassical tradition of landscape painting became an
important part of the works of European painters of the early 19th century as a means of portraying
the kind of society which people aspired to after the upheavals of the late 18th century. The heroic
landscape as a painting genre had achieved great popularity in the 17th century when artists like
Nicholas Poussin and Claude Lorrain captured the beauty of the natural environment as a

His effectiveness rests on the fact that he has developed the practical essence of Marxism to a pitch of
clarity and concreteness never before achieved. He has rescued this aspect of Marxism from an almost
total oblivion and by virtue of this theoretical action he has once again placed in our hands the key to a
right understanding of Marxist method. For it is our task and this is the fundamental conviction
underlying this book to understand the essence of Marx s method and to apply it correctly. In no sense
do we aspire to improve on it. If on a number of occasions certain statements of Engels are made the
object of a polemical attack this has been done, as every perceptive reader will observe, in the spirit of
the system as a whole. On these particular points the author believes, rightly or wrongly, that he is
defending orthodox Marxism against Engels himself. We adhere to Marx s doctrines, then, without
making any attempt to diverge from them, to improve or correct them. The goal of these arguments is
an interpretation, an exposition of Marx s theory as Marx understood it. But this orthodoxy does not in
the least strive to preserve what Mr. von Struve calls the aesthetic integrity of

The Bouquet Of Flowers And The Frying Pan
The Bouquet of Flowers and the Frying Pan
They are just simple inanimate objects, items, things, whatever we want to call them, but it is up to us
for those objects to become animate, giving them attention and importance in our lives and we become
dependent on those objects. In the introduction of the book Taking Things Seriously: 75 Objects with
Unexpected Significance by Joshua Glenn and Carol Hayes, Glenn talks about how different groups in
our society criticize each other over commodity fetishes even though they are guilty themselves. We
are always looking for different objects to fill the emptiness of our lives and give to them more
importance should they really have. Glenn mentions the success anthropologist Lyall Watson
describes any inanimate object which... demands attention and exercises power over those people
whom it appeals , like in the stories of Genesis Cabrera and Josh Ozersky making the object vital in
their lives. The stories have few similarities in some of the aspects, of provenance, properties and
essence. I think Cabrera s story will not make it to the second edition of the book since her unexpected
significant object doesn t covert the criteria what there are looking for in the book even though there
are some similarities, but I don t believe the essence is strong enough. Ozersky s story its full of
memories and feelings, the frying pan had a decade of sharing important moments of his life and

The Role Of War In George Orwell s Wagged Arms
For many, the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of the word war is a cause, moreover
fighting for beliefs or ethics that radically differ from the opposing side s. However, a more universal
similarity between wars, fiction or nonfiction, is economic gain. In 1984, The Eyre Affair, and
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, the antagonist has the same motivation for the same action;
each aim to start a major war in order to sell weapons that they produce, earning a substantial profit
for the world s distress. In George Orwell s novel, 1984 (along with the movie adaptation), Big
Brother and The Party control Oceania under totalitarianistic rule while the super state is at perpetual
war. The war, while seemingly pointless and merely the cause of entangled alliances, is 1 ... Show

The Causes And Effects Of The Irish Potato Famine
Imagine if your main source of food was snatched away. Envision if you had to leave your home and
start a whole new life. The Irish had to do just this. The potato completely changed Ireland when it
was introduced to the country in the late 1500s. The nutritious food supported this country in more
ways than one. But disaster struck in the mid 1800s when the Potato Famine, otherwise known as the
Great Hunger, began, causing millions of Irish to emigrate from their country and start new lives in
America. Irish people experienced a huge change as they left their homeland to escape the starvation
and poverty caused by the Potato Famine; changing the lives of the Irish and Americans forever.
Before this devastating time, the Irish had a rich culture, filled with folklore and ancient tradition.
Most Irish were Catholic and spoke the Irish Gaelic language. This was very different from English,
the language that the immigrants would have to adapt to in their new home. Also, before the Great
Hunger, the potato was a staple in the diets of all the Irish people. The article Irish Roots: The Potatoes
Role in History Goes Far Beyond the Famine by George Ball says, For the Irish tenant farmers, with
barely an acre to cultivate, potatoes produced larger and more reliable yields than grains. The typical
Irish peasant ate from eight to 14 pounds of potatoes each day, providing 80 percent of caloric intake.
The potato s broad adoption transformed the Irish. Nearly the perfect

Innate And The Immune System
In this essay the link between the two different parts of the immune system should be explained. The
immune system consists of the innate immune system on the one hand and the adaptive immune
system on the other. The innate system reacts fast and protects the body through barriers or special
cells, but the specificity of this system is very low. Contrary to the innate system acts the adaptive
system. It is needed if the innate system fails and therefore takes more time to get activated, but its
specificity is very high. This essay should describe, how these two systems work together and how
they are linked up to each other.
The immune system consists of two parts, the innate and the adaptive part. The biggest difference is,
that the adaptive immune system is very specific for certain pathogens, and it has the ability to
remember. That means, that the adaptive immune system gets better after each infection with the same
pathogen. (Roitt, et al., 1996)
The first contact from a pathogen with the body is always with the innate immune system. It is here to
prevent the body from an infection through pathogens and it forms the first defense line. The innate
immune system consists of physical barriers like the skin, proteins like the complement and certain
cells, primarily leucocytes. The two main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

There parts of these antigens are presented to the T lymphocytes, which then recognize the antigen.
When antigens get through the epithelium, they are engulfed by macrophages, which are located in the

Multi National United, which is not concerned with the aliens welfare but will do anything to master

In the movie, there are signs saying either no prawns or no humans and the humans show a major sign
of xenophobia towards the prawns. In this day in age we see a lot of hatred towards foreigners, in
particular, terrorists. In the beginning of the movie you see Blomkamp interviewing the humans about
the prawns. They show a great level of hatred and disgust for the prawns intruding on their town. In
the real world, we see this same form of hatred or disgust from certain people about the immigrants
and refugees intruding on and taking over many American s jobs. Blomkamp wants to push the issue
that there is great hatred throughout the world today. The main reason he produced the film in
Johannesburg was because there were high tensions between native south Africans and Zimbabwean
refugees. He wanted to try to make the town he grew up in great again. Blomkamp wanted to open
people s eyes with the use of science fiction to show that in some ways we treat other humans like the
humans treated the prawns.

Essay on Dealing with Loss in Killing the Bear
Dealing with Loss in Killing the Bear
Often things that we experience as children have lasting affects on us that creep up when we least
expect them. In Judith Minty s story Killing the Bear , a woman finds herself in just such a situation.
She finally deals with something that happened to her as a young child that she probably never even
realized was bothering her. In this story the central character painfully comes to grips with a major
loss of security from her childhood.
Throughout Killing the Bear the author flips back and forth from the story at hand and seemingly only
loosely related anecdotes about the main character and bears. One of the first of these side stories is
about the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The bear represented safety and comfort to her and its loss suddenly plunges her into a world of fear,
isolation, and anger. She feels as though she has been abandoned by the bear, even if she realizes that
it did not choose to abandon her. The picture of the woman that we are shown by the author, is one of
an adult who still hasn t come to terms with these feelings of loss.
The woman in this story is in the woods and alone. The woods illustrate her fears and insecurities. She
is very isolated. Even her faithful dog has died and left her, which is another past experience that
shows her abandonment. She is shown to be very afraid of the bear in the woods. She still has not
come to terms with her own fears and the loss of her safety and comfort. The bear represents many
things to her, some bad and some good. She is aware that the bear seems dangerous and can hurt her,
but she seems unaware of how she pictures the bear. In her mind, bears are supposed to be protection,
like her teddy bear was. She relates the real bear in the woods and the danger that he poses to her with
her lost teddy bear and the feeling of isolation that his loss gave her. The images given by the author
of bears are very contradictory. Some of the images are ones of almost human creatures that are far
from harming people, but others are pictures of vicious, cold blooded killers. In the woman s mind,
these concepts of bears are all jumbled up. She doesn t know exactly what she thinks of

Effect of Asean Economic Integration
ASEAN: The integration effect

There is no turning back. It s not just policymakers agreeing on pie in the sky issues; there is a real
demand in the business community to get it right.
Since the region s ninth summit in 2003, when the concept of an ASEAN Community was first
endorsed, GDP has risen from $722 billion to $1.8 trillion in 2010, while GDP per capita more than
doubled to $3,100. Trade also rose twofold to $2.1 trillion, one quarter of which is intra ASEAN trade.
Over the same period, China leapfrogged the US and Japan to become ASEAN s largest trading
partner, accounting for $232 billion in imports and exports in 2010, or 11.3% of the region s total.
Foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows rose from $24.5 billion in 2003 to $76.2 billion in 2010. Intra
ASEAN capital flows have increased more than fourfold, accounting for 16.1% of the regional total in
2010 compared to 11.1% seven years ago. Only the EU contributes more.
It is a matter of debate as to who has benefited most from these developments. We have seen
multinationals take advantage of the FTA, but the problem is small and medium sized enterprises
(SMEs) don t have the manpower and resources to do the same, says Sanchita Basu Das, lead
researcher for economic affairs at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS) ASEAN Studies

Influences On Musical Notation In The Middle Ages
A brief essay on two influences on musical notation in the middle ages
Modern musical notation as we know it can be directly credited to the Catholic Church. The Catholic
church being a primary influence in Western history, the church had many resources and was source of
education. While there are a variety of rudimentary music notations pre 9th century the foundation of
music notation as we know it is due to an Italian Benedictine monk, Guido de Azzero, who invented
solfege, a vocal scale we know as do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti, do but was introduced as ut, re, mi, fa, sol,
la. This scale was a huge breakthrough for vocalists that were struggling to learn new chants in the late
900 s but has had a lasting effect as this is the same scale vocalists use today. Along with this he
introduced the four line staff, a fifth would be added as music became more complex. Now vocalists
could read the pitch, and learning new pieces of chant became a much easier task. But how long
should those notes be held? We have the pitch and scale, but when does the vocalist move on to the
next note without guessing or being prompted? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This treatise had a wide influence on composers for it clarity and logic, specifically in regards to note
duration which is that a notes shape could indicate its length. Franco of Cologne introduced the longa,
brevis, and the semibrevis, the semibreve becoming the modern whole note. With this composers
could write music with rhythmic variety. Thus we are introduced to the foundation of mensural
notation, that would become the modern bar notation. Although there are no known surviving pieces
of music by Franco of Cologne, a form of motet was named after him, the Franconian Motet, an
example of this is Amours mi font/En mai/Flos filius

Human Trafficking Violates Human Rights
Human trafficking is a topic that is not discussed very often in society. Many people fail to realize that
human trafficking still exists today. Human trafficking violates basic human rights. It takes away the
freedom and security of men, women, and children world wide. The diversity and widespread
execution of human trafficking make it difficult to regulate and prosecute. In the international effort to
prosecute human trafficking, several guidelines and definitions of human trafficking have been
provided:

During that time, the captives suffered physical abuse and hard labor without pay. The couple also
confiscated their passports and threatened to use violence, beatings, and sexual violence if the captives
did not comply with their demands (Victim s Stories). Men, most often victims to labor trafficking.
The Department of State describes male trafficking:
The sex trafficking of boys is often hidden, reflecting cultural taboos in many parts of the world. In
Afghanistan and coastal Sri Lanka, boys are more likely than girls to be subjected to prostitution; in
Mexico and Central America, boy migrants are vulnerable to commercial sexual exploitation en route
to the United States; boys in Southeast Asia are exploited in prostitution; to a lesser extent, men are
victims of sex trafficking; in recent years, Brazilian men were identified in forced prostitution in Spain
and men were identified as sex trafficking victims in the United States. (Male Trafficking Victims).
Different age groups fall victim to trafficking as well. Not only adults, but also children, are trafficked
worldwide. Child trafficking is defined as the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring, or
receipt of children for the purpose of exploitation (Child Protection from Violence, Exploitation and
Abuse). Children make up almost twenty percent of trafficking victims around the world. However, in
some parts of Africa and the Mekong region, children are the majority (up to 100% in parts of West

How was Life in our World Created
Throughout history, scientists asked questions about the origin of life and wondered if it was created
by God or an explainable natural phenomenona. One of the most debatable ideas disputes whether the
Christian God is true. More specifically, many wonder if the Bible true. Scientists and philosophers
ascertained evidence that proves the truthfulness of the Bible. True science and the Bible do not
contradict each other. Science and archaeology supports the truthfulness of the Bible, confirming the
Bible is true
The Bible is consistent with science; in fact, the Bible contains scientific topics that have been
investigated by scientists. Throughout time, scientists used to believe that their theories were 100 %
accurate in explaining the universe. As technology advances, scientists discovered that some of these
theories are unreliable. Recently, it has been explored that stars are uncountable as mentioned in the
Bible As the host of heaven cannot be numbered (Deem). Scientists used to theorize that the Universe
has only between 1000 to 1200 stars (Comfort 21). The Bible has accurate, scientifically proven facts.
For example, many years ago, scientists theorized that Earth is flat; however, years later; they proved
that Earth has a round shape. It is he that sits upon the circle of the earth (Deem). Again, the Bible
mentioned the accurate shape of the earth. As a result of these discoveries, scientists began to study
and investigate various topics in the Bible and have

The Miseducation of the Negro
The Mis Education of the Negro Carter G. Woodson
From the beginning when the African slaves first set foot on American soil, the Negro has been
perceived as an inferior race. Unfortunately, the effects from slavery still take a hold of the Negro race
even today. In this novel, Carter G. Woodson attempts to thoroughly explain why exactly this has
come to exist. Although written years ago, the ideals in his book are still seen to be true. Woodson s
theory is that because of the way the Negro is treated by the oppressor, he has been brainwashed to
believe his inferiority to other races to be the truth. This in turn keeps him from trying to advance in
any shape or form because he thinks that he will step out of his place. When you control a ... Show

Woodson states that if one would have suggested this same idea to a Negro he would have become
insulted with this idea and would feel that since he has a college education he is too good for such
common business. The so called education of Negro college graduates leads them to throw away
opportunities which they have and to go in quest of those which they do not find. (Woodson, 39) The
author believes that any good opportunity should not be wasted because even if you have a diploma it
is not guaranteed that you will find work in that field especially with the prejudices of his world
against him.
Another problem discovered by the author was that Negroes don t trust other Negroes when it comes
to business. He talks about a negro man that stated, If we invest our money in some enterprise of our
own, those in charge will misuse or misappropriate it. I have learned from the study of economics that
we had just as well keep on throwing it away. (Woodson, 41) Some mis educated Negroes gossips
about other Negroes instead of supporting them, expecting that the fellow members of their race are
destined to fail. The author states that yes Negro men may make mistakes, but it is because they are
not being properly supported are the reason why their businesses are failing. When the Negro does do
well in business, men around him grow jealous because he rushes out to build the biggest home, buy

Comedy and Different Opinions
Different opinions
Comedy is of course made up of many things. Since we are all different we all have different opinions
about what makes up comedy. French Philosopher Henrie Bergson wrote an essay in which he
explains what comedy means to him and how it is composed. Jimmy Carr and Lucy Greeves have also
written an easy in which, they define what comedy is and how it is an important factor in human life.
Both these authors have many differences in what they feel comedy is as well as some of the
similarities that they have in common. Bergson, Carr and Greeves define comedy in many ways like
who laughs, situations that are funny, who makes a joke, group comedy and emotions regarding
comedy.
Have you ever asked your self who laughs at funny things? Many of us might of answered humans.
Bergson suggests that laughter is only produced by humans and that no other creatures have the
capability to laugh expect us humans. Carr and Greeves also suggest that humans are the planet s most
successful creatures in having the capacity to laugh. Although unlike Bergson, Carr and Greeves also
suggest that apes also have the capacity to laugh (37 49). They mention the process of evolution, as
we all know, evolution suggests that humans once evolved from apes; therefore, they feel that apes
also have the capacity to laugh due to recent research

Napoleon Bonaparte Thesis
Introduction
Napoleon was the son of Carlo Buonaparte and Letizia Buonaparte, born in Corsica. He started off as
a rather disliked man by his fellow officers, although his stunning military victories allowed him to
quickly rise through the military rankings. At the young age of twenty five, he was promoted to the
rank of brigadier general. Shortly after the coup d etat of 1799, when Napoleon overthrew the
Directory, he became the young emperor of France determined to strengthen and expand his empire.
Thesis
Although many viewed Napoleon Bonaparte as a ruthless dictator, he could ve also been considered a
child of the Enlightenment, based upon his numerous reforms. Napoleon wrote out the Civil Code, or
Code Napoleon. This document granted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only did he centralize the administrative system, he also kept eighty three departments from the
Revolution. Furthermore, taxation was made more efficient and fair. Also, promotion in office was
based on skill, and not whether or not one was born into a noble family. Napoleon also shared the idea
of Rousseau on having a general will or consensus, as he held a plebiscite where people could vote yes
or no.
Con Enlightenment Reforms
Although he wrote the Code Napoleon, he also took away rights from women. For example, a woman
could be convicted for adultery and imprisoned if caught with another man. On the other hand, a man
could have as many mistresses as he wanted, as long as he did not bring one home.
Napoleon took away rights from Jews, despite being religiously tolerant towards every other religion.
Napoleon restored slavery to the French caribbean islands, and even executed Toussaint Louverture, a
man who led a successful slave rebellion against Napoleon in Haiti.
Napoleon censored many newspapers in France and exiled Germaine de Stael, a woman who wrote

partner was Max Foreman, and just like myself, he has been a cradle Catholic his entire life. Cradle
Catholic is a term used to basically say that since he was born he has been Catholic because his
parents were Catholic and wanted to pass their faith down to him. As a Roman Catholic you are
expected to attend Mass every Sunday and every holy day of obligation. For just one hour a week we
go to listen to the word of God, pray to God, and receive the Eucharist, but only if you have had your
First Communion. Not only did Max attend Mass every Sunday, he was an active part of it because he
was an altar server. Basically, an altar server is the priest s first hand man while Mass is being
celebrated. When I asked Max to expand more on his experience as an altar server he told me that it
allowed him to really become closer with God and realize that the Eucharist truly is more than just a
piece of bread and wine but that it fully is the actual body and blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ. Along with being an altar server at Mass, Max also participated in several different volunteer
opportunities. Some of these programs were run through the church and some were just everyday

Essay Comparing Waiting For Icarus And Virute Des Beaux Arts
The two poems Waiting for Icarus and Musée des Beaux Arts are narrative poems. Musée des Beaux
Arts is a poem written by W. H. Auden and published in 1938. Waiting for Icarus is a poem written by
Muriel Rukeyser and published in 1973. The poem Musée des Beaux Arts is about how no one truly
cares when a tragedy is taking place, unless said tragedy concerns them directly. The poem Waiting
for Icarus tells the story about a woman who is abandoned by her lover while waiting for him at the
beach. The two poems have a great deal of similarities and differences between them. In the end,
Waiting for Icarus and Musée des Beaux Arts are two unique poems that will invite readers to think
deeply about their individual subject matter, especially ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One such difference lies in the divergent tones that the poets use in their individual poems. The tone in
Musée des Beaux Arts, for example, is that of utter indifference towards the plight of Icarus. Perhaps
this is because the event Auden is describing is merely happening in a painting and not actually
happening in front of his persona, or perhaps Auden uses such a tone in order to further convey to his
audience the lack of interest everyone else displays in regards to Icarus dilemma. An example of the
unhurried and apathetic attitude everyone has in Musée des Beaux Arts is clearly shown when Auden
writes, While someone else is eating or opening a window or just walking dully along; / How, when
the aged are reverently, passionately waiting / for the miraculous birth (lns. 4 6). Auden writes these
lines in order to show his readers how everyone is carrying on with their life in the manner that they
always do, regardless of what tragedies may befall others. Auden wants to show his readers that
people will still eat, open windows, and be born despite what calamities may be happening near them.
Ruth Bernard Yeazell agrees that the tone in Musée des Beaux Arts is that of indifference when she
states in an article that, It is not just that the ploughman is not paying attention, but

Risk Assessment and Risk Management
Risk assessment and risk management
Introduction
There are many hazards associated in an industrial workplace. With new technologies, new machinery
and constant updates with regulations it is more important now than ever before to produce efficient
risk assessments. Good risk assessments reduce hazards and fatalities in dangerous areas in the
workplace. A good risk assessment will make workers feel safer and therefore happier and promotes a
good business structure within the company. A good risk assessment will help prevent legal action
against the company therefore saving the company money.
Identifying Hazards
When looking at a general workshop there are several hazards that could potentially cause an accident.
In this section, I will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Accidents with tools
The engineers have to use tools to carry out maintenance work, tools include small pocket knives,
screwdrivers, drills, ratchet sets etc. There is the need of tools to do maintenance so the likelihood of
incidents and accidents is very likely (Frequency: 4), severity is not as bad as there are a lack of
dangerous saws and other dangerous tools etc. Cuts from electrical/ metallic equipment are also likely
as well but shouldn t be too severe (Severity: 3).
Trip/Slip Hazards
Trip hazards come from misplaced boxes, pallets and other items that have been misplaced. Slip
hazards can come from a leaky roof or spilled drink, these incidences can often occur (Frequency: 3)
but they usually don t do too much damage but on rarity can be fatal (Severity: 2).
Oxidising Hazards
There are no real chemicals within the workplace that can cause oxidising problems or need constant
ventilation, therefore any oxidising accidents should be extremely rare (frequency: 1) but if they was a
miraculous incident, it could cause an explosion (Severity: 5).
Environment Hazards
There is waste in the workshop that can be harmful to the environment, such as disposing old batteries
that have Ni Cad Acid which can harm the environment /animals. Waste and rubbish is of a high
quantity and should be exposed of properly using the correct authorities. The amount of rubbish
thrown out of the

Increase Household Debt Levels At Australia
Increase Household Debt Levels
At the end of 2013 total household debt was at a 25 year high of $1.84 trillion, the amount of debt
owed by households was nearly 1.8 times the amount of disposable income earned by households in
that year, (ABS 2014). This significant rise in debt taken on by Australian households can be
attributed to favourable macroeconomic conditions and historically low rates of interest and inflation,
(Meng, Hoang Siriwardana 2013).
Favourable macroeconomic conditions:
Prior to the Global Financial Crisis Australia experienced strong economic growth, low levels of
unemployment and strong growth in both the housing and share market. This was due to the mining
boom and strong demand for Australia s commodity exports. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This can be seen through the fisher equation when nominal interest rates are low and inflation rates are
low, households are able to borrow more at the same level of repayment costs. This leads to an
increase in the average size of new housing loans. The current borrowers market along with the
governments first home buyers scheme and the vast availability of finance has meant that their has
been an increase in the number of first home buyers acquiring debt, therefore increasing household
debt levels, (Sheehan 2014).
Risks of high household debt levels
Australian households:
(McGrath 2014), suggests that high levels of household debt result in Australian households being
more susceptible to changes in interest rates, changes to household income and other economic
shocks. For example if the Australian economy experience a rise in the level of unemployment or a
reduction in the level of wages, households with high debt levels will be unable to finance their debt
and will eventually default on their loans. This results in consumption spending becoming more
sensitive to changes in expectations about future income, resulting in greater levels of uncertainty,
(Joye 2014).
Additionally because the majority of household debt in Australia is linked to variable rates, rather than
a fixed rate of interest, households a more susceptible to unanticipated changes to the

Katherine Anne Porter Writing Style
Best known for her remarkable short fiction, Katherine Anne Porter is categorized as one of the most
prominent writers of the twentieth century. Born in Indian Creek Texas in 1890, Callie Russell Porter
was exposed to many events of turmoil in her early years as a child. Throughout most of her personal
life she has experienced a great deal of instability, difficulty, and chaos. A new found success in her
works as an author also accompanied the instability she continued to endure. Porter incorporated
useful themes into her writing: betrayal, death, origin of human evil, and the unforgiving nature of
man. Her overall writing style includes techniques of irony, symbolism, and memory. In 1966, she was
awarded with the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and also the National Book Award for the The Collected
Stories which included The Jilting of Granny Weatherall . This short story in particular shares similar
themes exhibited in the author s life: denial, loss abandonment, guilt, and above all, determination.
Katherine Anne Porter s tumultuous life had an obvious impact on her work as a fictional short story
writer.
Katherine Ann Porter was born with the name Callie Russell Porter on May 15th, 1890, in Indian

The Legacy Of The Emancipation Proclamation
When it comes to Abraham Lincoln people will accept anything as factual, which is why all the myths
of Lincoln have actually dominated history for so long. Many believe that the Emancipation
Proclamation is solely about honest Abe being a just man and freeing all the slaves with his executive
power as sitting president. Lincoln himself stated that it was actually a war tactic strategically planned
to cripple the south. If Lincoln s 1863 article is so dedicated to the freeing of slaves then why were
union states like Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri and West Virginia allowed to still
participate in keeping their slaves? And by virtue of the power, and for the purpose aforesaid, I do
order and declare that all persons held as slaves within said designated States, and parts of States, are,
and henceforward shall be free. which is an excerpt from the Emancipation Proclamation itself which
shows that a lot of people don t read it well enough to notice that the slaves were an actual
afterthought. Maybe it s because they are so caught up in the notation that Lincoln was about slave s
equality and nothing more.
The common myth that Lincolns parents left the slave state of Kentucky to head to Indiana ,which was
free at the time, because they were so against the idea of slavery, is nothing more but another situation
where we put two things together and make something completely out of context. We want to believe
so badly that Abraham was a savior sent from above with a

The Core Principles Of Pharmacy
From the beginning footwork of pharmacy in the medical field, a lot of changes have taken place
which in turn set a precedent for the current professional expectations of Pharmacists today. Derived
from the history of pharmacy, educated predications can be made on the presumption that changes are
created to advance and amend the profession. Upon graduating in May 2019, we expect implications
that will take place will be fully implemented by 2029. Although the core principles of pharmacy will
not change, technology and professional recognition will be the major advancements.
In the next four years, we expect the responsibilities of a community pharmacist to change due to
corporate expectations to attain certain numbers and profits. The need for technicians in community
pharmacy will be cut back as time goes on. Directly correlated to this decrease of technicians, the
pharmacist will have to take on the additional duties with the lack of help. The corporations will
benefit from this because it decreases their budget and increases their profit. However, this present
trend will only become worse and create a high pressure environment for the pharmacist. Ultimately,
there will be less time for the pharmacist to consult with the patients. Due to this fact there will be
longer wait periods for receiving drug pick ups, which will negatively impact patient satisfaction. This
can lead patients in the direction of filling their prescriptions through mail order. Mail order already

Disadvantages Of 4 White Powders
From the table four appropriate simple tests can be conducted in order to determine the structure type
and identify the four white powders. This includes conducting tests of melting point, flame color,
solubility and the conductivity in water (H20). The melting point of a substance is the temperature at
which the material changes from a solid to a liquid state. The determination of melting points is a form
of identification and test method for organic substance. The melting point is an easy way measure and
classify substances. Testing the flame color is an appropriate test as metal ions change the color of a
flame when they are heated. Different metal ions give different colors to the flame. So flame tests can
be used to identify the presence of a particular metal in a sample. Solubility is appropriate as a solvent
a substance will dissolve in gives hints to its identity. Conductivity in water (H20) identifies if a
substance is ionic or molecular. If a solution of compound and water has high conductivity level, the
compound is ionic if not it is molecular.

Research Paper On Sophie Germain
Sophie Germain also called Marie Sophie Germain was a famous French mathematician who proved

She was the daughter of a wealthy upper class French family. Her parents name were Ambroise
Francois Germain and Marie Madeleine. Her father,Ambroise, was a merchant and also the director of
the Bank of France. The year 1776 was a special year because Sophie was born and the American
Revolution began. Her father s library enabled her to educate herself and teach herself. At the age 13,
she read a book called the Legend of Archimedes Death. Archimedes was speared to death because of

Obama Immigration Reform
What are President Obama s plans for immigration reform? Will this immigration reform positively

February 11, 2013
Currently, 11 million illegal immigrants inhabit the United States. This number will continue to
augment without proper regulation of these aliens. Ever since his first inauguration, it has been
President Barack Obama s mission to improve America s mediocre immigration system. Since Obama
s reelection for his second term, he has constantly stressed the fact that the new ideas for immigration

Congress stresses that this pathway to citizenship is mainly focused on the 11 million undocumented
aliens in America, but it is equally vital to deal with future immigrants, as well, or the country may
find itself housing more illegals and not progressing to a better America (Fox News, The Associated
Press, foxnews.com).
Lastly, Obama s final aspiration is to break our old fashioned system and bring it to the 21st century.
The president s opinion about visa card laws was that they are outdated and make no sense, (Fox
News, The Associated Press, foxnews.com). He hopes to join family members with those who have
come to earn a living already and to avoid the prolonged wait of future immigrants. Having to wait
years before being able to send one s family to America is absurd to the President and surely to a
majority of others (CNN Political Unit, CNN.com).
These plans, ideas, and desires for a higher quality national immigration system will be assorted into a
bill. Witnesses largely appealed to congress disposition to pass the bill because not only will this bill
ameliorate the lives of immigrants and their families, but also the US economy (Fox News, The
Associated Press, foxnews.com).
Correspondingly, there is a plethora of reasons why a substantial immigration reform would positively
impact the US economy. To begin, immigrants

A Unified Thai Kingdom
During the 14th century, a unified Thai kingdom was established. Today it is known as Thailand but
up until 1939 it was called Siam. It is the only Southeast Asian country that has never been under
European rule. As archaeology studies suggests, 4000 B.C. was the time period where early bronze
metallurgy centers were thriving. Metallurgy refers to the science and technology concerned with the
properties of metals and their production. This development along with the cultivation of wet rice
gave the motivation for social and political organizations to make an appearance. Also, research
suggests that these new discoveries could have been transmitted to the rest of Asia, including China.
The Thai are linguistically related to the Tai groups in Southern China because migration groups left
from China and settled in Southeast Asia. Thai s date the founding of their nation to the 13th century.
According to tradition, in 1238 the Thai chieftains overthrew the Khmer rulers and established a Thai
kingdom in its place. This kingdom soon declined and a new Thai Kingdom emerged in 1350, the
Kingdom of Ayutthaya. The first ruler of this kingdom, King Rama Thibodi, made two very important
contributions to Thai history. One was the establishment and promotion of Buddhism as the official
religion and the second one was the compilation of the Dharmashastra, which are laws based on Hindu
and traditional Thai customs. The Dharmashastra stayed as a tool of Thai law until the late 19th

One problem that may occur is that as you increase the scale of a reaction, the time taken for a
procedure would increase massively and so an allowance must be made. This is a problem because the
tablets need to be produced in as less time as possible in order to fulfill consumer demand for the
product. Another problem in scaling up reactions is that you will be dealing with much larger
quantities of chemicals so the risks of using the chemicals may also increase e.g. Toxic vapors,
flammability, etc. The only chemical that can cause this problem in this reaction is Acetylsalicylic
Acid which is an irritant and also harmful. Another problem that can occur is that using bulk
chemicals can increase the amount of impurities. The number of impurities may increase due to things
such as side reactions and decompositions. These impurities may also increase due to leakages in the
system and this would be dangerous in a process such as the production of Aspirin as it may result in
the Aspirin tablets being too impure to consume.
It is important to control temperatures in these bulk reactions as you want to have a high percentage
yield but you also want a fast rate of reaction. In order to receive a high percentage yield of Aspirin,
you must use a low temperature as the forward reaction is an exothermic reaction. However this would
result in a low rate of reaction. As a result, you must compromise in order to get a good

  • 3. The Purpose Of Art And Its Felicity Joseph Anton Koch The purpose of art and its felicity lies both in its aesthetic quality as well is the instructive capacity of art, wherein the various perspectives employed by artist s help to understand the particular period in which the work was created and the influences that may have attributed to the final product. The early 19th century in Europe was marked by a desire to return to the classicism of the Greek and Roman empires as it connoted a sense of stability after the upheaval of the French revolution which had brought down existing social, political and economic structures to an end. The work ofJoseph Anton Koch, a German painter who chose to live in Rome and imbibe the traditions of the classicists shows in his work a clear attachment to the values of linear composition and idyllic subject matter and this is clearly apparent in his monumental workHeroic Landscape with Rainbow, now a part of the European gallery at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York City. This work is an apt illustration of the manner in which the neoclassical tradition of landscape painting became an important part of the works of European painters of the early 19th century as a means of portraying the kind of society which people aspired to after the upheavals of the late 18th century. The heroic landscape as a painting genre had achieved great popularity in the 17th century when artists like Nicholas Poussin and Claude Lorrain captured the beauty of the natural environment as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His effectiveness rests on the fact that he has developed the practical essence of Marxism to a pitch of clarity and concreteness never before achieved. He has rescued this aspect of Marxism from an almost total oblivion and by virtue of this theoretical action he has once again placed in our hands the key to a right understanding of Marxist method. For it is our task and this is the fundamental conviction underlying this book to understand the essence of Marx s method and to apply it correctly. In no sense do we aspire to improve on it. If on a number of occasions certain statements of Engels are made the object of a polemical attack this has been done, as every perceptive reader will observe, in the spirit of the system as a whole. On these particular points the author believes, rightly or wrongly, that he is defending orthodox Marxism against Engels himself. We adhere to Marx s doctrines, then, without making any attempt to diverge from them, to improve or correct them. The goal of these arguments is an interpretation, an exposition of Marx s theory as Marx understood it. But this orthodoxy does not in the least strive to preserve what Mr. von Struve calls the aesthetic integrity of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Bouquet Of Flowers And The Frying Pan The Bouquet of Flowers and the Frying Pan They are just simple inanimate objects, items, things, whatever we want to call them, but it is up to us for those objects to become animate, giving them attention and importance in our lives and we become dependent on those objects. In the introduction of the book Taking Things Seriously: 75 Objects with Unexpected Significance by Joshua Glenn and Carol Hayes, Glenn talks about how different groups in our society criticize each other over commodity fetishes even though they are guilty themselves. We are always looking for different objects to fill the emptiness of our lives and give to them more importance should they really have. Glenn mentions the success anthropologist Lyall Watson describes any inanimate object which... demands attention and exercises power over those people whom it appeals , like in the stories of Genesis Cabrera and Josh Ozersky making the object vital in their lives. The stories have few similarities in some of the aspects, of provenance, properties and essence. I think Cabrera s story will not make it to the second edition of the book since her unexpected significant object doesn t covert the criteria what there are looking for in the book even though there are some similarities, but I don t believe the essence is strong enough. The Role Of War In George Orwell s Wagged Arms For many, the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of the word war is a cause, moreover fighting for beliefs or ethics that radically differ from the opposing side s. However, a more universal similarity between wars, fiction or nonfiction, is economic gain. In 1984, The Eyre Affair, and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, the antagonist has the same motivation for the same action; each aim to start a major war in order to sell weapons that they produce, earning a substantial profit for the world s distress. In George Orwell s novel, 1984 (along with the movie adaptation), Big Brother and The Party control Oceania under totalitarianistic rule while the super state is at perpetual war. • 7. The Causes And Effects Of The Irish Potato Famine Imagine if your main source of food was snatched away. Envision if you had to leave your home and start a whole new life. The Irish had to do just this. The potato completely changed Ireland when it was introduced to the country in the late 1500s. The nutritious food supported this country in more ways than one. But disaster struck in the mid 1800s when the Potato Famine, otherwise known as the Great Hunger, began, causing millions of Irish to emigrate from their country and start new lives in America. Irish people experienced a huge change as they left their homeland to escape the starvation and poverty caused by the Potato Famine; changing the lives of the Irish and Americans forever. Before this devastating time, the Irish had a rich culture, filled with folklore and ancient tradition. Most Irish were Catholic and spoke the Irish Gaelic language. This was very different from English, the language that the immigrants would have to adapt to in their new home. Also, before the Great Hunger, the potato was a staple in the diets of all the Irish people. The article Irish Roots: The Potatoes Role in History Goes Far Beyond the Famine by George Ball says, For the Irish tenant farmers, with barely an acre to cultivate, potatoes produced larger and more reliable yields than grains. The typical Irish peasant ate from eight to 14 pounds of potatoes each day, providing 80 percent of caloric intake. The potato s broad adoption transformed the Irish. Nearly the perfect ... • 8. Innate And The Immune System In this essay the link between the two different parts of the immune system should be explained. The immune system consists of the innate immune system on the one hand and the adaptive immune system on the other. The innate system reacts fast and protects the body through barriers or special cells, but the specificity of this system is very low. Contrary to the innate system acts the adaptive system. It is needed if the innate system fails and therefore takes more time to get activated, but its specificity is very high. This essay should describe, how these two systems work together and how they are linked up to each other. The immune system consists of two parts, the innate and the adaptive part. The biggest difference is, that the adaptive immune system is very specific for certain pathogens, and it has the ability to remember. That means, that the adaptive immune system gets better after each infection with the same pathogen. (Roitt, et al., 1996) The first contact from a pathogen with the body is always with the innate immune system. It is here to prevent the body from an infection through pathogens and it forms the first defense line. The innate immune system consists of physical barriers like the skin, proteins like the complement and certain cells, primarily leucocytes. The two main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the movie, there are signs saying either no prawns or no humans and the humans show a major sign of xenophobia towards the prawns. In this day in age we see a lot of hatred towards foreigners, in particular, terrorists. In the beginning of the movie you see Blomkamp interviewing the humans about the prawns. They show a great level of hatred and disgust for the prawns intruding on their town. In the real world, we see this same form of hatred or disgust from certain people about the immigrants and refugees intruding on and taking over many American s jobs. Blomkamp wants to push the issue that there is great hatred throughout the world today. The main reason he produced the film in Johannesburg was because there were high tensions between native south Africans and Zimbabwean refugees. He wanted to try to make the town he grew up in great again. Essay on Dealing with Loss in Killing the Bear Dealing with Loss in Killing the Bear Often things that we experience as children have lasting affects on us that creep up when we least expect them. In Judith Minty s story Killing the Bear , a woman finds herself in just such a situation. She finally deals with something that happened to her as a young child that she probably never even realized was bothering her. In this story the central character painfully comes to grips with a major loss of security from her childhood. Throughout Killing the Bear the author flips back and forth from the story at hand and seemingly only loosely related anecdotes about the main character and bears. The bear represented safety and comfort to her and its loss suddenly plunges her into a world of fear, isolation, and anger. She feels as though she has been abandoned by the bear, even if she realizes that it did not choose to abandon her. The picture of the woman that we are shown by the author, is one of an adult who still hasn t come to terms with these feelings of loss. The woman in this story is in the woods and alone. The woods illustrate her fears and insecurities. She is very isolated. Even her faithful dog has died and left her, which is another past experience that shows her abandonment. She is shown to be very afraid of the bear in the woods. She still has not come to terms with her own fears and the loss of her safety and comfort. The bear represents many things to her, some bad and some good. She is aware that the bear seems dangerous and can hurt her, but she seems unaware of how she pictures the bear. In her mind, bears are supposed to be protection, like her teddy bear was. She relates the real bear in the woods and the danger that he poses to her with her lost teddy bear and the feeling of isolation that his loss gave her. The images given by the author of bears are very contradictory. Some of the images are ones of almost human creatures that are far from harming people, but others are pictures of vicious, cold blooded killers. In the woman s mind, these concepts of bears are all jumbled up. She doesn t know exactly what she thinks of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Influences On Musical Notation In The Middle Ages A brief essay on two influences on musical notation in the middle ages Modern musical notation as we know it can be directly credited to the Catholic Church. The Catholic church being a primary influence in Western history, the church had many resources and was source of education. While there are a variety of rudimentary music notations pre 9th century the foundation of music notation as we know it is due to an Italian Benedictine monk, Guido de Azzero, who invented solfege, a vocal scale we know as do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti, do but was introduced as ut, re, mi, fa, sol, la. This scale was a huge breakthrough for vocalists that were struggling to learn new chants in the late 900 s but has had a lasting effect as this is the same scale vocalists use today. Along with this he introduced the four line staff, a fifth would be added as music became more complex. Now vocalists could read the pitch, and learning new pieces of chant became a much easier task. But how long should those notes be held? We have the pitch and scale, but when does the vocalist move on to the next note without guessing or being prompted? ... One of the most debatable ideas disputes whether the Christian God is true. More specifically, many wonder if the Bible true. Scientists and philosophers ascertained evidence that proves the truthfulness of the Bible. True science and the Bible do not contradict each other. Science and archaeology supports the truthfulness of the Bible, confirming the Bible is true The Bible is consistent with science; in fact, the Bible contains scientific topics that have been investigated by scientists. Throughout time, scientists used to believe that their theories were 100 % accurate in explaining the universe. As technology advances, scientists discovered that some of these theories are unreliable. Recently, it has been explored that stars are uncountable as mentioned in the Bible As the host of heaven cannot be numbered (Deem). Scientists used to theorize that the Universe has only between 1000 to 1200 stars (Comfort 21). The Bible has accurate, scientifically proven facts. For example, many years ago, scientists theorized that Earth is flat; however, years later; they proved that Earth has a round shape. It is he that sits upon the circle of the earth (Deem). Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One such difference lies in the divergent tones that the poets use in their individual poems. The tone in Musée des Beaux Arts, for example, is that of utter indifference towards the plight of Icarus. Perhaps this is because the event Auden is describing is merely happening in a painting and not actually happening in front of his persona, or perhaps Auden uses such a tone in order to further convey to his audience the lack of interest everyone else displays in regards to Icarus dilemma. An example of the unhurried and apathetic attitude everyone has in Musée des Beaux Arts is clearly shown when Auden writes, While someone else is eating or opening a window or just walking dully along; / How, when the aged are reverently, passionately waiting / for the miraculous birth (lns. 4 6). Auden writes these lines in order to show his readers how everyone is carrying on with their life in the manner that they always do, regardless of what tragedies may befall others. Auden wants to show his readers that people will still eat, open windows, and be born despite what calamities may be happening near them. The determination of melting points is a form of identification and test method for organic substance. The melting point is an easy way measure and classify substances. Testing the flame color is an appropriate test as metal ions change the color of a flame when they are heated. Different metal ions give different colors to the flame. At that time, Sophie was 18 and women were not able to enroll in the academy. The Ecole Polytechnique was an academy that trained mathematicians and scientists in the world. Even though women were not able to attend the academy, Sophie was able to obtain some lecture notes and study them through a man named J.L. Lagrange. Lagrange later on became her mentor, and with a male to introduce her, she could see that there will be a good possibility for her to see the math and science world. In the year of 1804, Sophie was corresponding her work with a German mathematician named Carl Friedrich Gauss. She was fascinated with his labor in the number theory, so she sent him some of her work in the number theory. She had disguised herself and her male name was M. Leblanc. Gauss did not find out that he had a very gifted women pen pal until the year of 1807.Twelve years later, Germain wrote to a mathematician named Legendre and she proved that if x,y, and z are integers and if x^5+y^5=z^5 then either one of those variables must be divisible by ... • 31. Obama Immigration Reform What are President Obama s plans for immigration reform? Will this immigration reform positively OR negatively affect the U.S. economy? How? Current Issues February 11, 2013 Currently, 11 million illegal immigrants inhabit the United States. This number will continue to augment without proper regulation of these aliens. Ever since his first inauguration, it has been President Barack Obama s mission to improve America s mediocre immigration system. Since Obama s reelection for his second term, he has constantly stressed the fact that the new ideas for immigration reform are on the top of his list. Not only will these new reclaims help both the legal and illegal immigrants, and American citizens, but also they will benefit the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Congress stresses that this pathway to citizenship is mainly focused on the 11 million undocumented aliens in America, but it is equally vital to deal with future immigrants, as well, or the country may find itself housing more illegals and not progressing to a better America (Fox News, The Associated Press, foxnews.com). Lastly, Obama s final aspiration is to break our old fashioned system and bring it to the 21st century. The president s opinion about visa card laws was that they are outdated and make no sense, (Fox News, The Associated Press, foxnews.com). He hopes to join family members with those who have come to earn a living already and to avoid the prolonged wait of future immigrants. Having to wait years before being able to send one s family to America is absurd to the President and surely to a majority of others (CNN Political Unit, CNN.com). These plans, ideas, and desires for a higher quality national immigration system will be assorted into a bill. Witnesses largely appealed to congress disposition to pass the bill because not only will this bill ameliorate the lives of immigrants and their families, but also the US economy (Fox News, The Associated Press, foxnews.com). Correspondingly, there is a plethora of reasons why a substantial immigration reform would positively impact the US economy. To begin, immigrants ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. A Unified Thai Kingdom During the 14th century, a unified Thai kingdom was established. Today it is known as Thailand but up until 1939 it was called Siam. It is the only Southeast Asian country that has never been under European rule. As archaeology studies suggests, 4000 B.C. was the time period where early bronze metallurgy centers were thriving. Metallurgy refers to the science and technology concerned with the properties of metals and their production. This development along with the cultivation of wet rice gave the motivation for social and political organizations to make an appearance. Also, research suggests that these new discoveries could have been transmitted to the rest of Asia, including China. The Thai are linguistically related to the Tai groups in Southern China because migration groups left from China and settled in Southeast Asia. Thai s date the founding of their nation to the 13th century. According to tradition, in 1238 the Thai chieftains overthrew the Khmer rulers and established a Thai kingdom in its place. This kingdom soon declined and a new Thai Kingdom emerged in 1350, the Kingdom of Ayutthaya. The first ruler of this kingdom, King Rama Thibodi, made two very important contributions to Thai history. One was the establishment and promotion of Buddhism as the official religion and the second one was the compilation of the Dharmashastra, which are laws based on Hindu and traditional Thai customs. • 34. The Production and Manufacture of Aspirin Essay example The production and manufacture of Aspirin Aspirin is one of the most consumed painkillers created up to this date due to its reliability and low expense. It is often used to relieve minor aches and pains, reduce fever and as an anti inflammatory medication. Due to its wide range of uses, the demand for this pharmaceutical is very high. As a result, manufacturers who produce this drug must be efficient in order to reduce the time taken to produce this drug and produce the in very high quantities. Industrial production of Aspirin is dependent on the company producing the drug; however the general method of production is known as slugging or dry granulation. In this method, corn starch is mixed with pure water and is then heated and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One problem that may occur is that as you increase the scale of a reaction, the time taken for a procedure would increase massively and so an allowance must be made. This is a problem because the tablets need to be produced in as less time as possible in order to fulfill consumer demand for the product. Another problem in scaling up reactions is that you will be dealing with much larger quantities of chemicals so the risks of using the chemicals may also increase e.g. Toxic vapors, flammability, etc. The only chemical that can cause this problem in this reaction is Acetylsalicylic Acid which is an irritant and also harmful. Another problem that can occur is that using bulk chemicals can increase the amount of impurities. The number of impurities may increase due to things such as side reactions and decompositions. These impurities may also increase due to leakages in the system and this would be dangerous in a process such as the production of Aspirin as it may result in the Aspirin tablets being too impure to consume. It is important to control temperatures in these bulk reactions as you want to have a high percentage yield but you also want a fast rate of reaction. In order to receive a high percentage yield of Aspirin, you must use a low temperature as the forward reaction is an exothermic reaction. However this would result in a low rate of reaction. As a result, you must compromise in order to get a good ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
