The document discusses open loop and closed loop control systems. It defines an open loop system as one where the controller's input is independent of the system's output, as there is no feedback loop. The advantages are simplicity and lower cost, but errors and disturbances cannot be corrected. A closed loop system uses feedback, so the controller can adjust the input based on the output to improve accuracy. It is more complex and costly than open loop, but can correct for errors and disturbances to keep the output closer to the desired value.

state space modeling of electrical systemMirza Baig
Introduction
As systems become more complex, representing them with differential equations or transfer functions becomes cumbersome. This is even more true if the system has multiple inputs and outputs. This document introduces the state space method which largely alleviates this problem. The state space representation of a system replaces an nth order differential equation with a single first order matrix differential equation. The state space representation of a system is given by two equations :
The first equation is called the state equation, the second equation is called the output equation. For an nth order system (i.e., it can be represented by an nth order differential equation) with r inputs and m outputs the size of each of the matrices is as follows:
Several features:The state equation has a single first order derivative of the state vector on the left, and the state vector, q(t), and the input u(t) on the right. There are no derivatives on the right hand side. The output equation has the output on the left, and the state vector, q(t), and the input u(t) on the right. There are no derivatives on the right hand side.
q is nx1 (n rows by 1 column)q is called the state vector, it is a function of timeA is nxn; A is the state matrix, a constantB is nxr; B is the input matrix, a constant u is rx1; u is the input, a function of time C is mxn; C is the output matrix, a constant D is mxr; D is the direct transition matrix, a constant y is mx1; y is the output, a function of time
Derivation of of State Space Model (Electrical)
To develop a state space system for an electrical system, they choosing the voltage across capacitors, and current through inductors as state variables. Recall that
so if we can write equations for the voltage across an inductor, it becomes a state equation when we divide by the inductance (i.e., if we have an equation for einductor and divide by L, it becomes an equation for diinductor/dt which is one of our state variable). Likewise if we can write an equation for the current through the capacitor and divide by the capacitance it becomes a state equation for ecapacitor
There are three energy storage elements, so we expect three state equations. Try choosing i1, i2 and e1 as state variables. Now we want equations for their derivatives. The voltage across the inductor L2 is e1 (which is one of our state variables)so our first state variable equation is
This equation has our input (ia) and two state variable (iL2 and iL1) and the current through the capacitor. So from this we can get our second state equation
Our third, and final, state equation we get by writing an equation for the voltage across L1 (which is e2) in terms of our other state variables

Courier management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.
CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!
Work done in cooperation with James Malloy and David Moelling from Tetra Engineering.

Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

2. Open Loop System Definition:
An open-loop system is a type of control system in which
the output of the system depends on the input but the input
or the controller is independent of the output of the system.
These systems do not contain any feedback loop and thus
are also known as non-feedback system.
2
3. Open Loop Description
In the open-loop control system, a reference input is given to the system in order to get the desired output. But the
achieved output is not considered by the system for further reference input.
In this figure here represents the block diagram
of an open-loop control system.
Here as we can see that the system consists of
two blocks, one is the controller while other is
controlled process.
Basically, according to the required output, an
input is provided to the controller of the system.
Depending on the achieved input, the controller
generates the control signal which is fed to the
processing unit. Thus according to the control
signal, proper processing is performed and
output is achieved.
But as there is no feedback path present in the system, thus whether the achieved output is desired or not
the input has nothing to do with it.
So, this is the reason we say that in an open-loop system the input is independent of the output.
3
4. Example with Transfer Function
We all are aware of the operation of a traffic light controller present at various road crossings.
Basically the three signals generated by the controller is time-dependent. An internal timing is provided to the
controller at the time of designing the system. So, when the traffic signal controller is installed at the crossing
then each signal is displayed by the controller timely, independent of the rush present on any of the side.
Basically relays are used to provide timing sequence to the system.
In this figure clearly indicates that whatever output is achieved, the input will remain independent of it.
We know transfer function is given as:
When we separately consider the transfer function of each block then it will be given as:
Thus the overall transfer function will be:
So, the open-loop gain will be:
The use of the open-loop control system indicates that the operator of the system is ready to consider
some minimal deviation in the output from the expected value.
4
5. Open Loop Advantages And Disadvantages
Advantages
These systems possess simplicity
in construction and ease of
maintenance.
Due to the lesser number of units,
overall the system is economic.
The output provided by the
system shows stability.
The operation is quite convenient.
Disadvantages
These systems require timely
recalibration.
The systems are more prone to
errors.
The changes in the desired output
can be the result of internal or
external disturbances.
5
6. Closed-Loop Control System Definition:
A closed-loop control system is a type of control
system in which the controlling action shows
dependency on the generated output of the
system. In simple words, in these systems, the
output of the system controls the input applied to
the system.
The variation in input according to the output leads
to produce more accurate system output. Thus
controllability in the closed-loop system is achieved
through the output generated by utilizing a
feedback path.
Now the controlling provided to the system can be either output independent or output dependent. This
variation leads to give two different categories of control system.
A system in which controlling action is independent of the generated system output is known as open-loop
control system. While in a closed-loop system, the produced output controls the functioning of the system by
the used of feedback
6
7. Transfer Function of Closed-Loop Control System
Transfer function indicates the behaviour of the system as it is
defined as the mathematical relation between the input and
output of the system.
The gain of the system defines the ratio of output to input. Thus
we can say the output of the system is the product of transfer
function and input.
So, for the above-given system figure:,
On substituting the value of E(s) in the 1st equation
On transposing
This is the transfer function of a closed-loop system
with negative feedback.
For a positive feedback system, it is given as:
For a unity feedback system (i.,e H(s) = 0) with a high value of gain. The transfer function is unity.
7
8. Advantages:
Closed loop control systems are
more accurate even in the
presence of non-linearities
The sensitivity of the system may
be made small to make the
system more stable
The closed loop systems are less
affected by noise.
Disadvantages:
Closed loop control systems are
costlier and complex
The feedback in the closed loop
system may lead to oscillatory
response
The feedback reduces the overall
gain of the system
Stability is the major problem in
the closed loop system and more
care is needed to design a stable
closed loop system.
Close Loop Advantages And Disadvantages
