Numbered heads together is a cooperative learning strategy where students are divided into groups, numbered 1-4. The teacher poses a question and students discuss to decide on an answer. The teacher calls a random number and only the student with that number in each group may answer. It encourages accountability and ensures all students understand the material. However, not all students may get a chance to participate each time.
