The political thriller Scandal which began airing in 2012 has become an immensely popular television
show. The protagonist Olivia Pope is portrayed by the actress Kerry Washington. Olivia Pope is a
crisis manager who runs her own firm, Pope Associates, which specializes in managing political
situations and making the problems of the elite go away. Scandal, challenges the mainstream blueprint
used to construct most television shows in Western society. Primarily, Scandal breaks down
stereotypes of African Americans and females in general in society. There are many ways in which
Scandal achieves these goals. Scandal has a diverse cast of characters normally not portraited on
television. The characters do not conform to the stereotypes that have made other similar characters

Catalase is found in nearly all aerobic organisms, and one molecule can break down millions of H2O2
molecules every second. It works by first reducing a H2O2 molecule bonded to its active site through
taking an oxygen away with its Fe3+ component, which releases a water molecule into the cytosol.
Then, the enzyme will bond with a second H2O2 molecule and oxidize it by giving it the oxygen from
the first H2O2 molecule, releasing O2 and another water molecule into the cytoplasm. This catalytic
cycle then repeats indefinitely.
The purpose of this study is to test how changing the temperature of the liver, which was the catalase
source, would affect the rate of reaction with H2O2. If temperature increases then there would be less
O2 released because proteins denature when temperatures are too high, losing their shape and ability
to carry out their intended function.
Materials and Methods

variable in this study was temperature. The dependent variable was rate of reaction, measured
qualitatively on a scale of one to five based on the number of bubbles observed as the reaction took

Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) consist of two or more benzene ringed compounds made
of only carbon and hydrogen. Compounds which are made of two rings are known as di aromatics
whereas those made of three benzene rings are known as tri aromatics and so forth. As the number of
rings increase, molecular weights of these compounds also increase and the compounds tend towards
higher thermodynamic stability. Most common examples of PAHs are naphthalene, phenanthrene,
pyrene etc.
Further, as these compounds become heavier, the particle s size increases and hence these compounds
are also known to be pre cursors of soot formation. In this report we will only be studying PAH in the
vapour phase whose particle sizes will be restricted to less than 1.5 nm. Following diagram shows the
