The Transcript Of Chicken Dinner
In the transcript of Chicken Dinner , two couples are shown eating a meal together. Each line has
abbreviated the following names: Shane (SHA), Vivian (VIV), Michael (MIC), and Nancy (NAN).
The focus here is between lines 33 through 55. Line 39 has Shane turn his body followed with the
statement, all of a sudden. Shane and Michael then engage in a mutual eye gaze. This suggest Shane
wants to grab the attention of Michael, that he is the primary recipient, and the mutuality of the gaze
suggest Michael is attentive to Shane s story. When Shane continues by saying, dis guy go EH,
followed by an imitation of the sound of the car s horn and the iconic gesture of one pressing down on
the horn, the eye gaze from Michael is broken and shifted

Essay about Explaining The Twenties
In 1920, for the first time, the United States census revealed that more Americans lived in cities than
in rural areas. This fact speaks to a dramatic cultural shift that had taken place. The older ethnically
homogenous white Anglo Saxon Protestant (WASP) culture, characterized by their traditional religion
and farm life fell into decline. Overtaking its influence was a new, secular, urban mass culture rooted
among diverse ethnic groups. It was a culture that provided more opportunity for equal participation to
women and minorities than did the older traditional culture. Like all periods of change, however, the
Twenties were accompanied by a reaction against these changes, as the older culture tried to reassert
itself as the dominant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To some historians, the Sacco and Vanzetti verdict represents one of the darkest moments for
American democracy. Today, it is clear that Sacco and Vanzetti were arrested and convicted because of
who they were Non Protestant, Non Fundamentalists who believed in something different from the
majority of the people.
The battle between modernism and traditionalism is most apparent as a battle between the city and the
country. In geographical terms, this was how the multi cultural modernism and mono cultural
traditionalism were separated. Most non Western European immigrants lived in large cities, and in the
eyes of traditionalists, it was these immigrants who responsible for the problems of sin, alcoholism,
and radicalism. These large cities were the center of liberal Protestantism while the small towns were
the home of the old time religion.
No group symbolized the way in which these different strands of cultural reaction came together as
much as the Ku Klux Klan. The KKK was prevalent in the Southwest and Midwest, where few
African Americans lived. While the Klan was profoundly racist, in the 1920 s, it was better known for
its protests against Catholic and Jewish immigrants and the threat to traditional Protestant morality
which Catholics and Jews represented. Aside from being racist, Anti Catholic, and Anti Semitic, the

Narrative Essay On Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Texas Chainsaw Massacre El Paso, Texas was a small quiet town. Anything and everything modern
like theaters and shopping malls were a long drive away and there was one high school that everyone
went to. This was where my parents were from. We visited quite frequently and there was something
unique about each visit. One visit, it was a gloomy day at my Grandma s house and we were isolated
by the muddy and wet elements outside her walls. My brother and I were rotting with boredom and we
did not hesitate to make it known to our grandma and uncle. Filled with frustration, my uncle quickly
went to his room, came back out with an old VHS tape, turned off the lights, and popped the tape in;
with an activity finally found for us to do, my grandma went to bed. I was filled with excitement, a
cozy movie night at Grandma s seemed like the perfect thing to do on a rainy evening like this. My
uncle reclined on the couch next to us and seemed to have smirk on his face. My excitement then
turned to curiosity and with this I asked, What are we watching? My uncle replied with a grand smile
on his face as he said, Texas Chainsaw Massacre. My blood immediately went cold. I was too in shock
to protest, so I just sat on that couch and experienced the most terrifying hour and half of my life.
Watching that horrifying movie gave me a fear of my Grandma s house because her house and
backyard looked just something from the film. I also became dreadfully afraid of the dark and of

Moldova Case Study
Moldova, one of the poorest countries in Europe, is facing a very problematic difficulty in its attempts
to rise out of its current impoverished condition. This is because east of the Dniester river there exists
a hostile nation that s technically not there. This state, Transnistria, is one that technically does not
exist, as it is one of many breakaway states in Europe that does exist in reality, but receives no
international recognition. This is in despite of it being a de facto state. Boasting its own currency,
passports, and government system(Mallonee). The de facto state broke away in the 1990s after the
Moldovan movement for independence from the greater Soviet Union towards the downfall of the
union. The newly independent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ever since the region that broke away has maintained autonomy(Englund Transnistria ) and even has
its own passports and currency that are not recognized beyond the small country s borders(Mallonee).
Even in the Russian Federation Transnistria is not officially recognized as an independent nation, as
stated by Mallonee, Russia has not formally recognized the breakaway state, and does not appear
inclined to. . This minor nation is causing major ripples throughout the European community , and its
significance is vast, despite its lack of recognition and size (Skordas).
1992 was an odd year; the Soviet Union had just collapsed and states in Eastern Europe were still
deciding what they should do. One of these nations, Moldova, which broke away from the Soviet
Union in 1989 had declared autonomy and sought to create a new state, free of Russian influence. This
gave rise to Russian separatists in the eastern part of the country(Englund Fears ) who waged a small
civil war in order to gain their independence. This war lead to the creation of Transnistria, which has
maintained autonomy since the war s end in 1993(Englund Fears ). This autonomy is largely the result
of the ceasefire implemented by Russia itself, which involves over 1,200 Russian soldiers to be
stationed in Transnistria; this has been a major point of political tension in the region, even causing

Theme Of Wrinkle In Time
In the book wrinkle in time by Madeleine L Engle. Meg Murry over time learns to persevere and to be
patient. In other words the developing theme in the story is to persevere and be patient because things
happen for a reason even if you feel like everything is going wrong. Meg Murry is the protagonist of
the story She is also having a hard time dealing with her father s death. In the beginning Meg is very
down about everything that is happening to her ,she also feels like she cant handle everything at the
same time. For example on (page 7; in chapter 1) when Meg says It s the weather on top of everything
else. On top of me. On top of Meg Murry doing everything wrong . I this shows that me that she is

What Is The Reflection Of The Movie Shottas
For this assignment, I decided to reflect on the film Shottas . The film begins in the streets of
Kingston, Jamaica home of Biggs and Wayne, the two main characters. They lived within a very
dangerous and violent town, which drove them into their own violent lifestyle. As young men, how the
movie starts off, they rob the local drug dealers of a gun for a premeditated robbery. The money
allowed for them to purchase visas to come to Miami, Florida. While in the United States, as adults,
the two continue their criminal activities leading them to be deported back to their home in Jamaica.
Mad Max and Wayne, who was deported years before Biggs made his return, had already formed a
striving extortion business. Wayne made it mandatory for all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Analysis
When it comes to extortion, in my opinion, there are different levels when it comes to classifying it as
an organized crime. As young men, the boys decided to rob and shoot a delivery truck driver, in order,
to rob him of his earnings. They commited a robbery, however, it modded them into become
disciplined organized criminals and extortionist. I call this a minor because of the money they robbed
the driver of was nothing compared to the amounts of money they were extorting from the upperworld
and underworld people of power. Their behavior reflects the behaviors they have seen first hand
within their communities. The young children within the community are exposed first hand to the
violence of the local gangs and crimes. At this time, I believe, the issue was with the Jamaican
systems, as in educational and law enforcement. Along with the issue of the communities lack of
attention towards their new generations, is the issue of corruption. Aside from law enforcement being
able to keep up with the criminal activity, and being able to stop it, is the political officials being
corrupted. The film reflects on how the political world sometimes becomes involved in the organized
crime world. Reflecting on a reading we did this semester, when the upperworld connects itself with
organized criminals, it does not mean the official themself are involved in crimes themselves.
However, it allows for the organized crime to succeed and become a thriving

Children s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) varies from state to state. [CHIP is a collaboration
between federal and state governments. The programs are run by the individual states according to
requirements set up by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. States may organize

programs, use CHIP funds to expand their Medicaid programs like SCHIP Medicaid expansion

A few states call the SCHIP program by the term Children s Health Insurance Program .
The Affordable Care Act also known as Obamacare provides opportunities to boost and strengthen
children s healthcare coverage (Rudawitz, 2014). ACA requires states to improve coverage for
children by transitioning coverage for all children up to 133% Federal Poverty Line (FPL) to Medicaid
(Rudawitz, 2014). With enrollment increasing the CHIP program will need additional funding. If the
funding is reauthorized the program will have enhanced funding from 2016 2019. According to
Rudawitz the future of CHIP reauthorization will have important implications for children s coverage.
Funding for CHIP reauthorization will be challenging and more research will need to highlight
obstacles to coverage as well as changes in coverage between CHIP and the Marketplace to
understand the consequences tied to CHIP reauthorization.
CHIP focuses on low income children in working families who earn too much to qualify for Medicaid
but not enough to be able to purchase health insurance coverage on their own. CHIP s supporters
recognize the value of investing in children s coverage to make sure that all children have access to
medical care they need to grow up to become healthy and productive adults. CHIP has been
enormously successful, helping to reduce the number of low income uninsured children by a
remarkable 67.9%. (Shapiro, April 2016). The CHIP program gives families the

Herbert Hoover As The President Of America s Most...
Herbert Hoover
Herbert Hoover is one of America s most forgotten presidents and is at the bottom of the list when it
comes to polls ranking chief executives of the United States. Herbert Hoover was born on the 10th of
August 1874 in West Branch, Iowa. He grew up in Oregon and was one of the first students to attend
Stanford University when it opened in 1891. Hoover graduated from Stanford with a major in geology
and utilized his education to start a career as a mining engineer. People do not easily remember
Hoover and he is often overlooked when it comes to U.S. history textbooks. When people speak of
Herbert Hoover, they most likely remember him as an economic Satan , as his Presidency occurred
during the first four years of the Great Depression. Hoover served as the thirty first president of the
United States from 1929 to 1933. Before becoming President, he married Lou Henry, on February 10,
1899. The couple honeymooned in China where Hoover ended up taking a job as a mining consultant.
Shockingly enough, Hoover built a successful career as lead engineer for a private mining corporation
that worked for the Chinese emperor. For a month of time that the Hoovers lived in China, their
settlement was under heavy fire during the Boxer Rebellion. During this rebellion, Hoover helped his
local community by building barricades around their city and even risked his life by saving Chinese
children. He became very wealthy from mining the coal in China and later moved to lead the

The Effect Of Photography On Forensic Science
Photography in forensic science is arguably an important factor to the forensic science world
especially when is used in court situations to carry out justice in court. Photography helps to aid
investigations provides the court room investigators with photos of victims, places and items in detail
involved in the crime.
The basics of photography is understanding how a camera works, a standard camera has very basic
components these are
A viewfinder
A focusing mechanism
A shutter
An aperture
A lens
The light proof camera body
Finally a variety of buttons/devices to control the settings
So the basics of how a camera works are as follows as the light enters the camera this will be through
the lens aperture. It is then reflected the image is recorded on to a light sensitive film that is loaded
within the camera. When looking at the individual components of the camera firstly is the lens this is a
curved piece of glass of which the light passes through to allow the light to enter the camera then this
is redirected to finally this comes together in order to form an image. The aperture is located between
the rear and front lens; the aperture refers to the size of the lens opening this basically controls the
amount of light that enters the camera, sometimes the aperture can be known as the f stop or f number.
The largest aperture is F 2 the smallest is F 22.
The shutter is the object that is covering the lens, and this is the feature that controls the

Drezner Reaction Analysis In Daniel W. Drezner s book, Theories of International Politics and
Zombies, Drezner explores the theoretical impact a zombie apocalypse would have on international
relations. In his exploration of ideas, Drezner analyzes the approaches of different types of feminism
disciplines to a zombie apocalypse. The two feminist ideas he explores are liberal feminism and post
structuralist feminism. Drezner however, ignores the idea of a radical feminist approach in a critical
time such as a zombie apocalypse. As an important discipline and idea around feminism, Drezner s
lack of acknowledgement of this idea proves to be hurtful to his argument of the reaction of feminists
as a whole to a potential zombie apocalypse. I will apply radical feminism to a zombie apocalypse to
better understand Drezner s focus on feminism, and contrast these ideas with those explored in the
book. I am to explore the differences between radical feminism and the two feminist theories Drezner
focuses on, liberalism and post structuralism.
Daniel Drezner explains the ideas that many feminist s share: the world is vastly different for women
than it is for men. The gap between the genders is to the detriment of women. Radical feminist would
concur with this point. Radical feminism centers on the idea that the suppression of the female gender
is the main focus of all oppression within the world (Rowland and

What Are Some Examples Of Masculinity In Hemingway s Stories
In Hemingway s stories, there are many examples of masculinity and how it can affect a story. It could
affect how it s read, how people act, and even the outcome of the story. Masculinity is a very
important part of Hemingway s stories and it would be completely different without the aspect. In
Hemingway s stories, masculinity is usually portrayed in ways of bravery and stoicism. In The Snows
of Kilimanjaro, the main character is about to die and he is in his death bed. He goes on a journey to
redeem himself of everything he has done so that he can die peacefully. In A Day s Wait, the
protagonist is stoic in the face of death, in The Gambler, The Nun, and The Radio, the two people that
got shot were completely different in the way that one was cowering even though he wouldn t die
from the injury and the other one was facing the pain even though he had a low chance to come out of
it alive. The Short and Happy Life of Francis Macomber also portrayed acts of bravery, the main
character is brave enough to go on another hunt to redeem himself from his cowardice he had when he
was facing his foe. Masculinity is a big part of all these stories but it will be the same in each story.
They could all be different but even if it s a small part, it will still affect the story. In The Snows of
Kilimanjaro, the main character is going through death. Henry is dying from the gangrene Henry is

Analysis Of Michael Billig s Theory On Banal Nationalism...
The Hmong are known to have tightly knitted communities that are created through ties of kinship in a
clan based society. This sense of kinship is essential as a catalyst for the Hmong in developing and
producing a strong sense of nationalism despite the fact that they do not have a recognized political
state or homeland. This is especially important as the Hmong population has been dispersed to all
parts of the world following their involvement in a multitude of geopolitical struggles. Despite having
a scattered global population, the Hmong are continuously finding ways to remain distinct and as a
unified people, especially here in the United States. The Hmong create and reproduce a sense of
nationalism despite facing cultural decline and having relatively separated communities built around
different urban centers across the United States. Additionally, this research will discuss how the sense
of nationalism can be a way for the Hmong to move forward despite facing cultural decline. In this
research, these elements will be explained and explored through Michael Billig s theory on banal
nationalism (Billig, 1995). Nationalism is most often seen as a sudden spark of patriotism or strong
feelings of loyalty and appreciation to a nation state after some sort of triggering event. Some of the
most recognizable moments in United States history that have sparked widespread nationalism in its
citizens include the Sandy Hook shooting, the bombing of the World Trade center, and the

Social Security
The United States Social Security System is often considered a political football, frequently debated
on whether the government should continue to manage it or should it be privatized. Either way, in
today s economy, it s vital to the welfare of many. The main purpose of the system is to provide
benefits to America s workers and their families for retirement, disability, and early death. (Unknown
Social Security ProCon) According to the data collected in the 2000 census, Social Security is the
main source of income for men and women 65 and older. (Hartmann, Lee Highbeam) This finding

A 1972 amendment tied increases in Social Security retirement benefits to increases in the Consumer
Price Index. In 1974, Social Security insurance was taken over by the Social Security Administration,
and in 1983 an amendment allowed partial taxation of the benefits given to upper income recipients.
In 1999, payroll deductions for Social Security were set at 6.2% of annual wages below $72,600, and
payroll deductions for Medicare were 1.45% of annual wages (no upper limit), with employers
contributing matching amounts. (Columbia Encyclopedia Infoplease) The rates previously listed
continue to increase, often annually. The Social Security tax for 2010 is 6.2% of the first $106,800.
Earnings above that are exempt from additional tax. In addition to the Social Security tax, all

employer. (Averkamp Accounting Coach)
With all the tax revenue being generated, the next question often asked is; what is the best approach
for investing it. This again, often leads to controversy. Social Security funds are invested in federal
securities, mainly long term bonds. In 1997 a government advisory panel proposed that some of the
revenues be invested in stocks and bonds to generate higher returns. The panel was divided over
whether the money should be invested by the government or by individuals, as well as the amount that
should be shifted

Phonograph Parlors
Commercialization of Records The Record Labels
In 1889 Phonograph Parlors began to open up, marking the debut of phonographs to the mass market.
The first phonograph parlor opened up in San Francisco May of 1889. Almost all American cities had
at least one by the mid 1890 s. These parlors would allow customers to sit amongst a desk and speak
through a tube to request a recorded title. The title would then play through a cylinder phonograph
from a room located below, allowing the customer to listen to it through two ear horns at their private
desk.
At the time the mass production of records was still in its infancy and was very primitive. One of the
first recording methods had live performers record their tracks onto a phonograph embodying up to
ten tubes leading to blank cylinders within other phonographs. Prior to this, each record had to be
individually produced. Nonetheless, even with this method artist had to re record their songs multiple
times.
In terms of audio fidelity, grampaphone discs were not superior to cylinder records. Up until the early
1900 s both cylinder and disc recordings were available. The disc method, on the other hand, did
provide further manufacturing advantages as for discs could be efficiently stamped allowing them to
be easily mass produced.

Examples Of Damsel In Distress

CHAPTER I: TYPES OF REPRESENTATION OF WOMEN IN VIDEO GAMES
1.1. Damsel in distress One of the most widely used clichés in video games is Damsel in distress. The
word comes from French demoiselle, which means young lady . Demoiselle en detresse translates into
damsel in distress . As a trope the damsel in distress is a plot device in which a female character is
placed in a perilous situation from which she cannot escape on her own and must be rescued by a male
character, usually providing a core incentive or motivation for the protagonist s quest.
First known example of the Damsel in distress can be seen in the myth about Perseus and his wife

captive by her father Zachary Comstock in a tower for most of her life. The scenario sounds to be the
classic example of Damsel in distress, but when Booker reaches the tower, he realizes that she is not
so gentle, helpless and defenseless as he thinks. She is unlike any character that I have seen in a game,
especially when you play through the entire thing and you see how she evolves. DeWitt manages to
rescue Elizabeth and they both get involved in the city s conflict, during which she shows her strange,
but strong superpowers. Her character is well rounded. Her backstory is interesting and complex. Her
flaws and the way she expresses emotions makes her more real and human. She s resourceful and
quick witted, with the ability to break codes and pick locks like they re nothing (being locked in a
tower with nothing but books means she s got a lot of hobbies). Elizabeth has no experience with
shooting and fighting, but she effectively helps Booker. She looks for ammunition and health kits and
provides them to the main character. Her participation plays a vital role during battles. Elizabeth even
saves Booker life few times. That time Elizabeth gave him CRP on the beach when he almost
drowned, or that time she caught him with a blimp to save him from falling off the city, or that time
she gave herself up to Songbird to save his life. Elizabeth is essential to succeed. There is also no
sexual undertone in her relationship with Booker. Creative director of Irrational Games, said that In

Analysis Of Jason And The Quest Of The Golden Fleece
Jason and the Quest of the Golden Fleece
King Aeson was the ruler of Thessaly, married to Queen Polymede. Aeson was not a strong king, and
the land was in turmoil because it had lost its rarest gift, the Golden Fleece, which had been stolen and
taken to Colchis, at the other end of the earth. The Golden Fleece was given to Thessaly as a gift from
the gods, and the people believed that they would have good luck as long as they had the fleece. Once
it was gone, hard times fell in Thessaly, and the people blamed King Aeson for not keeping the fleece
safe.
The king and queen desired a son, and Jason was born. They noticed that Jason was bigger, better
looking, stronger, and more talented than other babies. This, they realized, meant that they had been
chosen as the parents of a hero. At this time, Polymede recalled a dream she had had months prior,
when Zeus had visited her and had an affair with her. Now she knew that this had been reality, not a
dream.
At that time, King Aeson s brother, Pelias, stole the throne from Aeson, who was not strong enough to
prevent the overthrow.
Fearing for Jason s life, he and Polymede pretended that the infant had died, and they had a funeral
ceremony. King Aeson was imprisoned by Pelias, and Queen Polymede became Pelias wife, against
her will. This was considered an act of incest and was not accepted by the people of Thessaly.
Secretly, though, they sent Jason to Cheiron to be raised as a hero. Cheiron was a centaur (half

that occurs during the entire interval. Interval recording is flexible and provides useful data
particularly for off task behaviour. It is broken down into intervals or blocks of time, and observations
are marked separately for each interval. Since we would like to get Joey to be on task, we want to
know how long each type of behaviour lasts (on/off), we will therefore require a method to ensure
each duration. Another consideration is to make it as easy as possible since the teacher is busy and has

information to be useful to our particular situation as our goal for Joey is to be on task most or all the
time. Joey s behaviour is non uniform so whole interval method was chosen, as it will provide better
data concerning time on/off task behaviours even though this method puts more demand on the

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Krabbe s Disease
Krabbe s disease has many signs and symptoms. There are three stages of this condition in infantile
form. Stage 1: The infant is seemingly normal and healthy for the first couple months after birth.
However during early onset of this disease, the child has signs of incoordination, vomiting, irritability,
unexplained fevers and stiff posture. Initial symptoms that may occur are seizures (Wenger 2000).
There is slight developmental regression and behavioral abnormalities, in particular, displaying
hypersensitivity to sound and touch (ORDR). Throughout this stage, the Cerebrspinal Fluid (CSF)
protein concentration at this point is significantly increased (Wenger 2000). The CSF is a liquid that
bathes the brain and spinal cord. Its function is to cushion the brain and spinal cord, protecting against
injury. It also circulates chemicals and certain nutrients that are filtered from the blood and it also
removes waste products from the brain (Lantos 2011).
The second stage of Krabbe s disease involves aplasia and hypoplasia, which is a defective
development of the abdominal wall musculature. There is also hypertonia, which is damage to the

Harvey Milk Thesis Statement
Due to the increasingly negative view of homosexuality in the late 1970 s and early 1980 s, the
LGBTQ community was facing a world altering decision; they could either shrink into the
background, and allow the world to continue to draw its opinions based on speculation, or claim the
spotlight and allow themselves to be judged based on their own merit. Harvey Milk, the first openly
gay elected official in the United States (Hope Speech, Commentary) saw a need for an uprising of the
latter. When addressing a crowd of his supporters and the Lesbian, Gay, Bi Sexual, Transgender,
Queer (LGBTQ) people in The Hope Speech at San Francisco City Hall on Gay Freedom Day in
1978, Harvey Milk uses the I You/Us Them relationships as defined by Martin Buber, pathos appeals,
and shared experiences to establish an emotional bond with the LGBTQ community. This relationship
of comradery and mentorship, deeply rooted in shared values, best prepared the crowd to absorb his
message of activism and hope. Harvey Milk, though he had known since high school that he was gay
(Biography), was initially outwardly ambivalent to legislation passed against the LGBTQ community.
This all changed after he befriended a group of gay radicals in his mid forties. They propelled him into
the politically charged world of activism, in which he developed his voice, and stood out as a leader in
the LGBTQ community. Milk stood on the steps of the San Francisco s City Hall to celebrate Gay
Freedom, but also to

Susan B. Anthony As A Teacher Or Writer
Susan B. Anthony once said, I declare to you that woman must not depend upon the protection of man,
but must be taught to protect herself, and there I take my stand. Leader, dreamer, and believer are three
words that could easily be connected with Anthony. She consistently pursued and believed that her
dream of equality would someday come true, and led others away from a conflicting and unjust
society. Most people know Susan B. Anthony as a teacher or writer, but she has done so much more
than that. Considering her many contributions to women s rights, readers can conclude that Susan B.
Anthony devoted her life to numerous associations as well as other movements. She depicted an
impact and change in her legacy as an American civil rights hero.
Born in Adams, Massachusetts, Susan Brownell Anthony became the second of eight children on
February 15, 1820 (history.com). Growing up, Susan B. Anthony learned that women were
discouraged from voicing their views (Lifer 299). Anthony developed a sense of independence as well
as moral zeal starting at an early age, which helped her realize the need for equal rights granted to
women (Encyclopedia Americana 39). In her earlier life, reformers would gather in the family home
near Rochester, New York, and this influenced her views on social betterment in America
(Encyclopedia Americana 39). Anthony had excellent education at a time when most men were against
women learning, and she began a career as a teacher (Cooper 12). As a teacher

Socrates Fear Of Death
Socrates and Plato both believed that a true philosopher does not fear death, but rather
welcomes it. Before Socrates s execution he was visited in his jail cell by two people Simmias and
Cebes. Both of these two visitors had a very proficient understanding of Socrates, together they saw
eye too eye. During the conversation Socrates told them that a philosopher welcomes death. Socrates
elaborated his previous sentence by explaining that a true philosopher only interested in the soul not
in the body. The argument that was made was that those who cared only about the soul knew that

Witch Hunts In The 19th Century
From the 1480s to early 1800s, mass hysteria erupted throughout the European continent. These cases
of witches and demonic possession, along with minor events of hysteria that ran rapid throughout
Europe. This resulted in suspicions and persecutions that continue today.
Most witch hunts were started during backdrops of social, economical, or religious change. The
generalized stress branched from these backdrops, including the epidemics and natural disasters, seem
to be the major cause of all hysterical outbreaks. Such as some malign conspiracy, one of the rumor
panics, was attempting to destroy the Christian religions through poison, witchcraft and demons.
These hunts come and go for nearly three centuries, in variations to time. The range of death varied
from the 26,000 estimated deaths in Germany to the lowest four deaths in Ireland. Also, research

The Atlantic Wall was the name given by Nazi Germany to an extensive coastal defensive structure
built on Hitler s orders that stretched all the way from Norway, along the Belgium and French
coastline to the Spanish border. The Atlantic Wall covered a distance of 2687 kilometers and it formed
the central part of Hitler s Fortress Europe . The Atlantic wall was built specifically to repel an Anglo
American invasion of continental Europe. The construction of the Wall started in May 1942 and ended
in august 1944. The building project was vast and most of it was done along the French coastline
where it thought by the German high command that the short distance between Britain and the French

Children Should Spend Watching Television
Animated cartoons, or motion pictures using animated techniques to display sequential drawings, have
been a popular form of entertainment since the early eighteenth century. From the 1920 s to the 1960 s
was a time marked as the golden age of cartooning. Years after that would provide a special time slot
that had kids waiting in anticipation for the weekends, a term known as Saturday Morning Cartoons.
Research conducted within the last decade has concluded that children spend significantly more time
watching television than they do learning in classrooms. The sociological textbook, Sociology the
Essentials, states The average person consumes some form of media sixty nine hours per week more
time than they likely spend in school or at work; thirty three of these hours are spent watching
television (Andersen 42). The majority of targeted adolescent television shows are animated. Although
the statistics may be high, the thirty three hours spent on television could be spent learning instead of
neglecting education. Cartoons are chalk full of lessons on vocabulary, speech, mathematics, and
science. Reaching out to a young demographic during their scholastic career with a comfortable form
of media can be everlastingly beneficial. Ultimately cartoons helpfully assist in the overall
development of adolescence.

Christmas is arguably the biggest holiday in the western world. It is the holiday that brings forth the

people reflect on it as. When the Nativity story is told it seems the main focus or the happy ending is
always the savior birth. That arguably is not what the Bible fully attended the focus to remain on. The

Mary knew that Joseph would most likely leave her due to her mysteries pregnancy and a tarnished
reputation. Although, those things are very important factors to look at when considering the risk
Mary took, when she accepted to birth the Messiah, the most significate risk Mary had taken was the
endangerment of her own life. According to the Old Testament law, if a women failed to remain
physically pure before marriage she would be brought to the door of her father s house, and the men of
her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the
whore in her father s house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you. And if the women was
betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her; Then ye shall bring them
both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die. Again, Mary knew
the challenges she had to face. She had nothing but a story of an angel to give to Joseph and the towns
people. The possibility of Joseph and the towns people believing that Mary, a poor servant,
miraculously became pregnant by the Holy Spirit is as slim as it would be now. In fact, most would
conclude that Mary was covering up an immoral relationship with Roman soldier. Yet, Mary kept the
same attitude that her son had in Gethsemane when He prayed, not my will, but thine, be done.

Shakespeare s A Streetcar Named Desire
Masquerades and Sexuality in A Streetcar Named Desire Masks conceal the truth from the people who
look at them. They use color, designs, and frills to hide the flaws beneath. In literature, stage, and film,
we see characters wearing masks all the time, just not always in a literal sense. The most complex and
intriguing characters wear these kinds of masks, to hide their own flaws and scars from the outside
world. In A Streetcar Named Desire, almost every character has a mask they wear, to conceal the truth
from the people around them. One of the easier masks to see is Blanche s, as she struggles with her
past and present. She hides her past from everyone to maintain her southern belle persona. However,
as the play progresses, her mask begins to crack initially with the young man she kisses before her
date with Mitch, and shatters completely once she is raped by Stanley. Her mask seems to be created
with an aura of sexuality, and is broken once it s used against her. What s notable is that William s
sister was suffering from schizophrenia prior to writing Streetcar. When she was forced to have a
lobotomy, it affected Williams, and has played a role in many of his shows. Blanche s dependence is a
part of her mask as well, as it drives a lot of her character. In her own words; I have always depended

Analysis Of Langston Hughes s Poem, I, Too
What does it mean to be an American? This question can have different kinds of answers. However,
when many people ponder about America, they associate it with a place where citizens have tons of
freedom and equality. But sometimes, Americans do not get these freedoms and equality right off the
bat as other people in other countries expect. Being an American can come with a lot of perks, such as
the freedom to speak your thoughts, freedom to express yourself and several more; However, to obtain
these perks, freedoms, and rights, the people must be able to fight and defend their rights. Therefore,
along the many reasons of being an American, to be an American means to fight for and defend their
rights. Through the study of literature and history, the reader will learn that in certain circumstances,
people will realize that they will have to fight and defend their rights against those who tries to take it
away. In the poem, I, Too, Langston Hughes shows that to be an American means that you should
refuse to buckle under awful pressures. The speaker, an African American man, was denied the rights

David Suzuki Diversity Is Strength
Pluralistic superiority is a pervasive concept existing in a significant portion of the Westernized world,
enforcing the notion that multi cultural, multi ethnic, and multi national ideologies are inextricably
related with societal and economic progress, exemplified by the myopic and unsubstantiated quotation
Diversity is Strength from the current incumbent of Canada s position of prime minister. The
fundamental issue with this perspective is its inability to properly process anterior information related
to alternate states, and the orthodox prerequisites involved in the ascension of relevant nation states by
creating such an axiomatic statement which purportedly embodies the quixotic goals of a state. As a

An intrinsic issue related to David Suzuki s postulation that diversity of all variants is useful to the
perpetuation of the is his intentional disregard for the biological notion of conflict within ecosystems,
specifically pertaining to invasive species and the ecosystems (and entities inhabiting the ecosystem)
which are the recipients of said invasion; if a species is relocated to an ecosystem and possesses traits
which fundamentally do not align with the synergistic and symbiotic nature of the ecosystem , there
exists a ubiquitous consequence for the denizens who are accustomed to the relatively static nature of
their environment. The socio cultural correlation, related to the biological notion of ecosystem
equilibrium, is the introduction of individuals who possess fundamental disagreements with the
predominant ethical and moral perspectives of the majority of inhabitants; this, historically, results in
the amplifications of tension between the two groups (primary inhabitants and incompatibly invasive)
and the inexorable suppression (this has a propensity to manifest in both active and passive
assimilation or the relocation of the minority into a specific region) of the incompatibly invasive or the
disintegration of the primary inhabitants social structure . Present within both a biological and socio
cultural structure is compatibility within an ecosystem, and operating within the confines of such
permits a higher degree of success when approaching multi culturalism, but attempting to implement
the unrestricted proliferation of any species or culture within an environment, as proselytized by
David Suzuki, is not functional. An example of such would be introducing the Andean bear into the

Religion Is A System Of Belief
JAINISM RELIGION
Religion is a system of belief in spiritual beings and practices observed by a group of people,

religions with different set of beliefs and perspective. Majority of these religions are centuries old and
have a wide following in different parts of the world depending on their origin. Jainism is one of these
oldest religions in the world that have survived to date with a huge following in Asia especially in the

The Three Stages Of Memory Encoding
On a day to day basis humans are processing different information constantly. Have you ever
wondered how this is possible? Have you ever wondered why you are able to obtain new information,
store it, and then recall it for later usage? For example, how is it possible that we can study for a test
one day, and then the next day we are able to retrieve that very information to use to take and pass a
test? Because memory is an important cognitive process it helps us to record the past, so we are able
to refer back to it at a later date. If humans didn t have a memory, we would only be able to
understand the present and our past wouldn t exist. The urge to study how memory works and the
concept behind, it has been around for many years. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This happens through three stages which include encoding, storage, and retrieval.
Memory Encoding
Before information is able to be stored successfully in our memory, information from our sensory
input has to be changed into a form in which our brain is able to comprehend. For example, our
perception of something may be different from how it is actually explained, so we have to encode it in
order to better understand it. There are three main stages where encoding occurs; visual (picture),
acoustic (sound), and semantic (meaning) (McLeod, 2007). We go through these three stages often
without even realizing it. For example, when we have to remember a series of numbers for something,
we may keep referring back to it so we have a mental image of it (visual), we may repeat it to
ourselves ( acoustic), and it has to be significant to us otherwise we would have a need to remember it
(semantic).
Memory Storage
Storage in the human memory is the second of the three processes. The process of storing information
involves filtering out and filing information so our brain does not experience an information overload.
The information our brain receives can be stored into our long term, short term or sensory memory.
Memory storage also involves how long we are able to obtain that information and how much
information our brain can actually withhold. According to Miller (1956) most adults are able to store

for money, or protection for themselves, people they love, or relationships. Yes, telling lies can help
but imagine the damage you re building up on the way. Nobody likes liars and liars can be found
anywhere, even families lie to each other. Relationships are just like thin pieces of paper that make
small tears to it every time a lie is told. The paper can be put back together but it will never be the
same or be seen the same. When it comes to protecting the liar itself or people they love, telling lies is
known to be easier. In the Great Gatsby, Jay Gatsby tells Nick, My family all died and I came into a
good deal of money. (65), so they started off with lies. It was discovered that his whole family wasn t
dead when it was Gatsby s funeral because his father attended his funeral. He also lies about his the
money and his past. Gatsby doesn t specify where

What Phony Mean To Me Research Paper
One of the greatest regrets in life is being what others would want you to be, rather than being
yourself Shannon Alder. I don t say this quote because I think I m a big phony all of the time, I say it
because I recognize that there are parts of me that are phony, so some people never see my true self. I
am phony around some adults, for me, that means my extended family, my friend s parents, and my
coaches. Around these people I change the way I talk or the way I act, to show a personality that is not
naturally mine. On the other hand, I feel like most people are the least phony while they are around
their friends because their friends are their age so they can relate better. This is unless you are trying to
fit in with people that you don t belong with, so you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Our trip usually lasts about a week and this is one of the weeks that I behave the best out of the whole
year. I do this so that my extended family that I rarely visit, sees me as a good and responsible person.
For example, I have some boring conversations with my extended family that I could genuinely care
less about, but I m not going to be that guy that walks away from a conversation with a person that he
barely sees. Also, when I talk with my family, it is a conversation that is more mature than a
conversation I would have with friends. Now don t get me wrong, I have plenty of good conversations
with my family, but during some talks, I begin to act phony. The phoniness is a result of my elevated
maturity, so I keep a favorable reputation amongst them. I don t always want to act like I would with
my friends. When I m with my friends I joke around more and act less mature. I don t act this way
around my extended family because I prefer they only see me as mature and positive. This is so that
the personality they see and the conversations that they have with me are always valuable and, so that
my family enjoys seeing me

Analysis Of The Poem Happy Valley
The Hyperthymestic Storyteller Outside of the desk, however, is the rest of the house, the living place
of both the owner of the camera, and the camera itself. It s a two story house, with 2,986 square feet of
area, and a property of a quarter acre. In a greater context, the house is located in Happy Valley, a
suburb southeast of Portland, Oregon. A quick tour around the house shows many objects that describe
the people who live in the house: family pictures, a piano and three violins, three cars, and Bible
verses on the walls. Happy Valley is one of the wealthier suburbs in all of Portland, with a median
salary higher than West Linn or Lake Oswego: the presence of three cars further exemplifies this. In
such a wealthy community, having a quarter acre house indicates that the owners of this house must be
at least lower middle class or middle class. The presence of the piano and violins, as well as some
paintings on the wall, shows an interest in arts, and with an entire bookcase of CDs, especially music.
Looking at the pictures on the refrigerator, it is clear that this is a family of four, with two boys.
Finally, the presence of Bibles around the house, as well as Bible verses hung on the walls are a
testament to the Christian beliefs of this family. This unassuming suburban home in America
demonstrates many characteristics of the previous society. Christianity is traditionally a western
religion with its roots in Western Europe. Although the religion soon transferred

The Effect Of Magnetic Organizer On Young Older Audience
Review of Literature Target Audience The Magnetic Organizer will appeal to a young older audience.
Both boys and girls can be unorganized, and therefore the Magnetic Organizer is for both genders. The
Magnetic Organizer can appeal to many students who have trouble being organized in school. Leaving
folders, papers, or homework somewhere are constant struggles of students. Magnetic Organizers can
be used by both amateurs and professionals as both need to be organized in order to either become a
professional, or stay one. The disabled could probably not use this design, as the main function needed
to operate my design is to pull up the bin from the magnetic lock, and be able to grab whatever is
placed inside of the magnetic binder. This is not a very complex design, so it can be used without
much previous knowledge on how it functions. The concept of the design can be learned fairly quick.
Similar Products Many common products meet the need as the magnetic organizer. One of the most
common are named folders. This product meets the same purpose as the Magnetic Organizer,
although, is very simple. Papers can fall out if turned upside down, and can cause much stress if done
on accident. Another downside to folder is there small size can cause us to regard our attention to
larger objects, causing the possibility of forgetting the folder somewhere. Another product is named a
bin. A bin can be used to store many items and papers, although it may not always be very portable,

Decade of Corporate Greed
Decade of Corporate Greed Dale Schroll University of Phoenix Axia College As Ronald Reagan
Ascended in the 1980 s he reinvented Republican policies that favored deregulation and the growth of
business in America. These Ideas markedly opposed the views of the governmental interventionist
policies of the 1960 s and 70 s with these ideas Reagan hoped to decrease government Involvement
and heavy taxes. With these tax cuts Reagan s thinking was that many new businesses would spawn
and that it would have a trickledown effect by not only empowering businesses to grow and hire more
people which in the end would benefit all from those on top in the corporate world all the way down
to the lowest person in the company in which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This new concentration of wealth created a whole new class of millionaires, however on the downside
for every millionaire there were several hundred homeless people. With this came more negativity that
came with the corporate greed of the 80 s.For these people who became homeless and poor due to
these millionaires greed were blamed for dragging down the economy by Republican politicians and
their mouthpieces in the media, while the truth we found out later is that indeed it was these rich
people who were ripping us off and actually were responsible for dragging down the economy. Going
as far to blaming the poor the city of Los Angeles installed a fingerprint system to guard against
welfare fraud that cost the city and hardworking tax payers 30 million dollars, and for all of this it
caught one cheater. While at the same time White collar crime was rising and costing us more than
street crime cost, also doing more damage and arguably causing more deaths. Reagan also had a
deregulation of the savings and loans industry which was a total debacle and ended up costing
Americans 500 billion dollars which is part of the still current banking problem that is going on today.

Professional And Academic Knowledge At The Fairfax County...
To enhancement of my professional and academic knowledge, the internship program might be an
essential tool and supporting element. Working with the Fairfax County s ADR office, I have been
gaining some knowledge in the field of workplace conflict, where facilitation, intake, and conflict
coaching conflict are major techniques being used for conflict resolution. In this period, the following
targeted objectives have been addressing through the different program implementation strategies.
1. Learning the techniques that can be used in the organizational conflict facilitation/mediation;
2. Enhancing my effective communication skill by outreaching to other agencies in Fairfax
Government and community;
3. Developing my research skill through information gathering, verifying, and analyzing from the
internet;
4. Analyzing facilitation skills needed for conflict resolution through observing meeting, training, and
workshops;
To address these objectives, I have been working very closely with the ADR team and getting
significant amount of support. As a conflict resolution scholar, organizational conflict facilitation, and
mediation techniques are extremely important and helpful to support may future job as well as
academic knowledge. I have found that the Fairfax County has huge number of employee dispute and

Art Therapy And Bulimi The Definition And Categorization...
Art Therapy and Bulimia The definition and categorization of bulimia nervosa (BN) are addressed in
the beginning of the paper. As there are many medical concerns that influence and accompany
treatment, a brief overview of these concerns is provided. Next, the focus shifts to the population most
affected by the disorder and risk factors for development of BN. A discussion of co occurring
disorders follows due to the fact that BN sufferers often experience one or more co occurring disorders
or differential diagnoses that may further complicate a clinician s plan for treatment. After an
explanation of the disorder and its facets, general information about treatment is described including
several therapeutic themes and challenges. Next, specific types of treatment are discussed, including
cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and
psychopharmacology. An option for adjunctive treatment, art therapy, is described along with its many
advantages for treating clients with BN including the benefit of clients relationship to the materials.
This is further explored by describing art therapists ability to aid clients in creating boundaries,
relating to their bodies, and expressing and managing emotions. Several aspects of group art therapy
are discussed. Then the focus of the paper turns to a variety of art therapy directives to demonstrate
how art therapists can use art as part of the process of recovery from BN. Finally,

Verizon Executive Summary
Verizon Wireless Communications, Inc. Verizon originally began as a standard telcom company
offering fixed line services. As the market evolved, Verizon evolved with it and has become a leader in
the wireless industry. Not only does Verizon offer wireless services, they also offer Fios TV, internet,
and phone services as well as Telematics, and digital media. Verizon Wireless provides wireless
communication services to over 142 million customers nationwide including customers in Hawaii and
Alaska (Dano, 2016). Its products include wireless voice and data services using the largest wireless
voice and data network in the United States and ranks number one in total revenue collected. Verizon
Wireless strong market position, perception of quality, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The explanation for the increase in wireless network costs is explained as a result of an increase in the
average cost per unit, driven by a shift to higher priced units in the mix of devices sold, partially offset
by a decline in the number of units sold. While Wireless costs went up, Selling, general and
administrative expenses went down. This was due to non operational credits recorded in 2015. A
contributing factor of this was a decline in sales commission in the Wireless segment. This drop in
commissions was due to an increase in consumers choosing to use the device payment plan rather than
point of sale purchase. Depreciation and amortization expenses also decreased in 2015. This was due
to Depreciation and amortization expenses not being recorded on Wireline assets in California,
Florida, and Texas. These Assets are classified as held for sale as of February 5, 2015. Verizon
explained their reasoning for this in the review by stating We will not record depreciation and
amortization expense on our depreciable Wireline assets in California, Florida and Texas through the
closing of the transaction with Frontier, which is expected to occur at the end of the first quarter of
2016. (Verizon, 2015) Overall

Obesity Is A Disease Characterized By Excessive Body Fat
Obesity is a disease characterized by excessive body fat. People who are medically obese usually are
affected by behavior, genetic and environmental factors that are difficult to control with dieting.
Obesity increases the likelihood of certain diseases especially cardiovascular disorders and diabetes.
Obesity has become a pandemic nowadays. In the Indian scenario, even with the growing awareness
about health and fitness, more than 3 percent (3 crores) of the Indian population is obese.
Our study aims to determine the association of BMIwith cardiac output, forearm and calf blood flow
in healthy young male adults. Our results are consistent with our hypothesis.
Cardiac output was found to be significantly more in obese subjects compared to overweight and
normal BMI group. Similar results were found in other studies too. Obese individuals have expanded
central blood volume. In addition, stroke volume and cardiac output are both increased. These changes
in blood volume and cardiac output are most likely due to the increased metabolic demand that result
from increases in both lean and fat mass. The large fat depots in significant obesity produce a low
resistance vascular circuit that may further increase cardiac output. There may also be changes in renal
absorption of salt and water. The combination of these factors is proposed to produce a form of
volume overload which can give rise to high output failure later. [24][25]
Another study revealed that obese patients demonstrated

The Culture, Climate And Material Resources Of The Haida...
HAIDAARCHITECUTRE
Lauren Fraser 300254667 Page Count 2789
Haida architecture evolved from artistic necessity. As isolated island people they had few resources to
trade. They relied on their reputation for artistic design and excellent craftsmanship amongst the
mainland tribes to trade for the resources they needed. This research essay explores the culture,
climate and material resources of the Haida Gwaii (Haida People) First Nation of British Columbia,
Canada.
The Haida People are an indigenous ethnic group of the Pacific Northwest situated along the west
coast of Canada in British Columbia. They are a people mainly from the archipelago of Haida Gwaii
in northern BC as well as Alaskan Haida and the Kaigani peoples which make up the Haida First
Nation.
As a society the Haida are well known for their highly stylized art form that is expressed in their
distinctive carvings and unique traditional house design. Early visitors from the mid 18th century were
astonished by the ingeniousness of the construction of their houses and the level of detail in the
carvings into the wood of their homes and totem poles using only basic technology. (History Museum)
The combination of their culture, the materials they had available and the climate of the islands
heavily influence their architectural style. This also meant they were very isolated from the rest of the
world and had strongly developed their technique of carving and building construction. With advanced
skills

  • 2. The Transcript Of Chicken Dinner In the transcript of Chicken Dinner , two couples are shown eating a meal together. Each line has abbreviated the following names: Shane (SHA), Vivian (VIV), Michael (MIC), and Nancy (NAN). The focus here is between lines 33 through 55. Line 39 has Shane turn his body followed with the statement, all of a sudden. Shane and Michael then engage in a mutual eye gaze. This suggest Shane wants to grab the attention of Michael, that he is the primary recipient, and the mutuality of the gaze suggest Michael is attentive to Shane s story. When Shane continues by saying, dis guy go EH, followed by an imitation of the sound of the car s horn and the iconic gesture of one pressing down on the horn, the eye gaze from Michael is broken and shifted ... • 3. Essay about Explaining The Twenties In 1920, for the first time, the United States census revealed that more Americans lived in cities than in rural areas. This fact speaks to a dramatic cultural shift that had taken place. The older ethnically homogenous white Anglo Saxon Protestant (WASP) culture, characterized by their traditional religion and farm life fell into decline. Overtaking its influence was a new, secular, urban mass culture rooted among diverse ethnic groups. It was a culture that provided more opportunity for equal participation to women and minorities than did the older traditional culture. Like all periods of change, however, the Twenties were accompanied by a reaction against these changes, as the older culture tried to reassert itself as the dominant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To some historians, the Sacco and Vanzetti verdict represents one of the darkest moments for American democracy. Today, it is clear that Sacco and Vanzetti were arrested and convicted because of who they were Non Protestant, Non Fundamentalists who believed in something different from the majority of the people. The battle between modernism and traditionalism is most apparent as a battle between the city and the country. In geographical terms, this was how the multi cultural modernism and mono cultural traditionalism were separated. Most non Western European immigrants lived in large cities, and in the eyes of traditionalists, it was these immigrants who responsible for the problems of sin, alcoholism, and radicalism. These large cities were the center of liberal Protestantism while the small towns were the home of the old time religion. No group symbolized the way in which these different strands of cultural reaction came together as much as the Ku Klux Klan. The KKK was prevalent in the Southwest and Midwest, where few African Americans lived. While the Klan was profoundly racist, in the 1920 s, it was better known for its protests against Catholic and Jewish immigrants and the threat to traditional Protestant morality which Catholics and Jews represented. Aside from being racist, Anti Catholic, and Anti Semitic, the Klan also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Narrative Essay On Texas Chainsaw Massacre Texas Chainsaw Massacre El Paso, Texas was a small quiet town. Anything and everything modern like theaters and shopping malls were a long drive away and there was one high school that everyone went to. This was where my parents were from. We visited quite frequently and there was something unique about each visit. One visit, it was a gloomy day at my Grandma s house and we were isolated by the muddy and wet elements outside her walls. My brother and I were rotting with boredom and we did not hesitate to make it known to our grandma and uncle. Filled with frustration, my uncle quickly went to his room, came back out with an old VHS tape, turned off the lights, and popped the tape in; with an activity finally found for us to do, my grandma went to bed. I was filled with excitement, a cozy movie night at Grandma s seemed like the perfect thing to do on a rainy evening like this. My uncle reclined on the couch next to us and seemed to have smirk on his face. My excitement then turned to curiosity and with this I asked, What are we watching? My uncle replied with a grand smile on his face as he said, Texas Chainsaw Massacre. My blood immediately went cold. I was too in shock to protest, so I just sat on that couch and experienced the most terrifying hour and half of my life. Watching that horrifying movie gave me a fear of my Grandma s house because her house and backyard looked just something from the film. I also became dreadfully afraid of the dark and of course ... • 5. Moldova Case Study Moldova, one of the poorest countries in Europe, is facing a very problematic difficulty in its attempts to rise out of its current impoverished condition. This is because east of the Dniester river there exists a hostile nation that s technically not there. This state, Transnistria, is one that technically does not exist, as it is one of many breakaway states in Europe that does exist in reality, but receives no international recognition. This is in despite of it being a de facto state. Boasting its own currency, passports, and government system(Mallonee). The de facto state broke away in the 1990s after the Moldovan movement for independence from the greater Soviet Union towards the downfall of the union. The newly independent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ever since the region that broke away has maintained autonomy(Englund Transnistria ) and even has its own passports and currency that are not recognized beyond the small country s borders(Mallonee). Even in the Russian Federation Transnistria is not officially recognized as an independent nation, as stated by Mallonee, Russia has not formally recognized the breakaway state, and does not appear inclined to. . This minor nation is causing major ripples throughout the European community , and its significance is vast, despite its lack of recognition and size (Skordas). 1992 was an odd year; the Soviet Union had just collapsed and states in Eastern Europe were still deciding what they should do. One of these nations, Moldova, which broke away from the Soviet Union in 1989 had declared autonomy and sought to create a new state, free of Russian influence. This gave rise to Russian separatists in the eastern part of the country(Englund Fears ) who waged a small civil war in order to gain their independence. This war lead to the creation of Transnistria, which has maintained autonomy since the war s end in 1993(Englund Fears ). This autonomy is largely the result of the ceasefire implemented by Russia itself, which involves over 1,200 Russian soldiers to be stationed in Transnistria; this has been a major point of political tension in the region, even causing ... • 7. What Is The Reflection Of The Movie Shottas For this assignment, I decided to reflect on the film Shottas . The film begins in the streets of Kingston, Jamaica home of Biggs and Wayne, the two main characters. They lived within a very dangerous and violent town, which drove them into their own violent lifestyle. As young men, how the movie starts off, they rob the local drug dealers of a gun for a premeditated robbery. The money allowed for them to purchase visas to come to Miami, Florida. While in the United States, as adults, the two continue their criminal activities leading them to be deported back to their home in Jamaica. Mad Max and Wayne, who was deported years before Biggs made his return, had already formed a striving extortion business. Wayne made it mandatory for all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Analysis When it comes to extortion, in my opinion, there are different levels when it comes to classifying it as an organized crime. As young men, the boys decided to rob and shoot a delivery truck driver, in order, to rob him of his earnings. They commited a robbery, however, it modded them into become disciplined organized criminals and extortionist. I call this a minor because of the money they robbed the driver of was nothing compared to the amounts of money they were extorting from the upperworld and underworld people of power. Their behavior reflects the behaviors they have seen first hand within their communities. The young children within the community are exposed first hand to the violence of the local gangs and crimes. At this time, I believe, the issue was with the Jamaican systems, as in educational and law enforcement. Along with the issue of the communities lack of attention towards their new generations, is the issue of corruption. Aside from law enforcement being able to keep up with the criminal activity, and being able to stop it, is the political officials being corrupted. The film reflects on how the political world sometimes becomes involved in the organized crime world. Reflecting on a reading we did this semester, when the upperworld connects itself with organized criminals, it does not mean the official themself are involved in crimes themselves. However, it allows for the organized crime to succeed and become a thriving ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A few states call the SCHIP program by the term Children s Health Insurance Program . The Affordable Care Act also known as Obamacare provides opportunities to boost and strengthen children s healthcare coverage (Rudawitz, 2014). ACA requires states to improve coverage for children by transitioning coverage for all children up to 133% Federal Poverty Line (FPL) to Medicaid (Rudawitz, 2014). With enrollment increasing the CHIP program will need additional funding. If the funding is reauthorized the program will have enhanced funding from 2016 2019. According to Rudawitz the future of CHIP reauthorization will have important implications for children s coverage. Funding for CHIP reauthorization will be challenging and more research will need to highlight obstacles to coverage as well as changes in coverage between CHIP and the Marketplace to understand the consequences tied to CHIP reauthorization. CHIP focuses on low income children in working families who earn too much to qualify for Medicaid but not enough to be able to purchase health insurance coverage on their own. CHIP s supporters recognize the value of investing in children s coverage to make sure that all children have access to medical care they need to grow up to become healthy and productive adults. CHIP has been enormously successful, helping to reduce the number of low income uninsured children by a remarkable 67.9%. (Shapiro, April 2016). The CHIP program gives families the ... Herbert Hoover Herbert Hoover is one of America s most forgotten presidents and is at the bottom of the list when it comes to polls ranking chief executives of the United States. Herbert Hoover was born on the 10th of August 1874 in West Branch, Iowa. He grew up in Oregon and was one of the first students to attend Stanford University when it opened in 1891. Hoover graduated from Stanford with a major in geology and utilized his education to start a career as a mining engineer. People do not easily remember Hoover and he is often overlooked when it comes to U.S. history textbooks. When people speak of Herbert Hoover, they most likely remember him as an economic Satan , as his Presidency occurred during the first four years of the Great Depression. Hoover served as the thirty first president of the United States from 1929 to 1933. Before becoming President, he married Lou Henry, on February 10, 1899. The couple honeymooned in China where Hoover ended up taking a job as a mining consultant. Shockingly enough, Hoover built a successful career as lead engineer for a private mining corporation that worked for the Chinese emperor. For a month of time that the Hoovers lived in China, their settlement was under heavy fire during the Boxer Rebellion. The Effect Of Photography On Forensic Science Photography in forensic science is arguably an important factor to the forensic science world especially when is used in court situations to carry out justice in court. Photography helps to aid investigations provides the court room investigators with photos of victims, places and items in detail involved in the crime. The basics of photography is understanding how a camera works, a standard camera has very basic components these are A viewfinder A focusing mechanism A shutter An aperture A lens The light proof camera body Finally a variety of buttons/devices to control the settings So the basics of how a camera works are as follows as the light enters the camera this will be through the lens aperture. It is then reflected the image is recorded on to a light sensitive film that is loaded within the camera. When looking at the individual components of the camera firstly is the lens this is a curved piece of glass of which the light passes through to allow the light to enter the camera then this is redirected to finally this comes together in order to form an image. The aperture is located between the rear and front lens; the aperture refers to the size of the lens opening this basically controls the amount of light that enters the camera, sometimes the aperture can be known as the f stop or f number. • 11. Analysis Of The Book Theories Of International Politics... Cameron Lurcook Dr. Michael Allen Political Science 306 September 21, 2015 Drezner Reaction Analysis In Daniel W. Drezner s book, Theories of International Politics and Zombies, Drezner explores the theoretical impact a zombie apocalypse would have on international relations. In his exploration of ideas, Drezner analyzes the approaches of different types of feminism disciplines to a zombie apocalypse. The two feminist ideas he explores are liberal feminism and post structuralist feminism. Drezner however, ignores the idea of a radical feminist approach in a critical time such as a zombie apocalypse. As an important discipline and idea around feminism, Drezner s lack of acknowledgement of this idea proves to be hurtful to his argument of the reaction of feminists as a whole to a potential zombie apocalypse. I will apply radical feminism to a zombie apocalypse to better understand Drezner s focus on feminism, and contrast these ideas with those explored in the book. I am to explore the differences between radical feminism and the two feminist theories Drezner focuses on, liberalism and post structuralism. Daniel Drezner explains the ideas that many feminist s share: the world is vastly different for women than it is for men. The gap between the genders is to the detriment of women. Radical feminist would concur with this point. Radical feminism centers on the idea that the suppression of the female gender is the main focus of all oppression within the world (Rowland and ... • 12. What Are Some Examples Of Masculinity In Hemingway s Stories In Hemingway s stories, there are many examples of masculinity and how it can affect a story. It could affect how it s read, how people act, and even the outcome of the story. Masculinity is a very important part of Hemingway s stories and it would be completely different without the aspect. In Hemingway s stories, masculinity is usually portrayed in ways of bravery and stoicism. In The Snows of Kilimanjaro, the main character is about to die and he is in his death bed. He goes on a journey to redeem himself of everything he has done so that he can die peacefully. In A Day s Wait, the protagonist is stoic in the face of death, in The Gambler, The Nun, and The Radio, the two people that got shot were completely different in the way that one was cowering even though he wouldn t die from the injury and the other one was facing the pain even though he had a low chance to come out of it alive. The Short and Happy Life of Francis Macomber also portrayed acts of bravery, the main character is brave enough to go on another hunt to redeem himself from his cowardice he had when he was facing his foe. Masculinity is a big part of all these stories but it will be the same in each story. They could all be different but even if it s a small part, it will still affect the story. • 13. Analysis Of Michael Billig s Theory On Banal Nationalism... The Hmong are known to have tightly knitted communities that are created through ties of kinship in a clan based society. This sense of kinship is essential as a catalyst for the Hmong in developing and producing a strong sense of nationalism despite the fact that they do not have a recognized political state or homeland. This is especially important as the Hmong population has been dispersed to all parts of the world following their involvement in a multitude of geopolitical struggles. Despite having a scattered global population, the Hmong are continuously finding ways to remain distinct and as a unified people, especially here in the United States. The Hmong create and reproduce a sense of nationalism despite facing cultural decline and having relatively separated communities built around different urban centers across the United States. Additionally, this research will discuss how the sense of nationalism can be a way for the Hmong to move forward despite facing cultural decline. In this research, these elements will be explained and explored through Michael Billig s theory on banal nationalism (Billig, 1995). Nationalism is most often seen as a sudden spark of patriotism or strong feelings of loyalty and appreciation to a nation state after some sort of triggering event. Some of the most recognizable moments in United States history that have sparked widespread nationalism in its citizens include the Sandy Hook shooting, the bombing of the World Trade center, and the ... • 16. Phonograph Parlors Commercialization of Records The Record Labels In 1889 Phonograph Parlors began to open up, marking the debut of phonographs to the mass market. The first phonograph parlor opened up in San Francisco May of 1889. Almost all American cities had at least one by the mid 1890 s. These parlors would allow customers to sit amongst a desk and speak through a tube to request a recorded title. The title would then play through a cylinder phonograph from a room located below, allowing the customer to listen to it through two ear horns at their private desk. At the time the mass production of records was still in its infancy and was very primitive. One of the first recording methods had live performers record their tracks onto a phonograph embodying up to ten tubes leading to blank cylinders within other phonographs. Prior to this, each record had to be individually produced. Nonetheless, even with this method artist had to re record their songs multiple times. In terms of audio fidelity, grampaphone discs were not superior to cylinder records. Up until the early 1900 s both cylinder and disc recordings were available. The disc method, on the other hand, did provide further manufacturing advantages as for discs could be efficiently stamped allowing them to be easily mass produced. • 17. Examples Of Damsel In Distress Sonia Piątek CHAPTER I: TYPES OF REPRESENTATION OF WOMEN IN VIDEO GAMES 1.1. Damsel in distress One of the most widely used clichés in video games is Damsel in distress. The word comes from French demoiselle, which means young lady . Demoiselle en detresse translates into damsel in distress . As a trope the damsel in distress is a plot device in which a female character is placed in a perilous situation from which she cannot escape on her own and must be rescued by a male character, usually providing a core incentive or motivation for the protagonist s quest. First known example of the Damsel in distress can be seen in the myth about Perseus and his wife Andromeda, who is chained naked to a rock by the sea as a sacrifice, and is then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The protagonist Booker DeWitt, is sent there to find a young lady called Elizabeth, who has been held captive by her father Zachary Comstock in a tower for most of her life. The scenario sounds to be the classic example of Damsel in distress, but when Booker reaches the tower, he realizes that she is not so gentle, helpless and defenseless as he thinks. She is unlike any character that I have seen in a game, especially when you play through the entire thing and you see how she evolves. DeWitt manages to rescue Elizabeth and they both get involved in the city s conflict, during which she shows her strange, but strong superpowers. Her character is well rounded. Her backstory is interesting and complex. Her flaws and the way she expresses emotions makes her more real and human. She s resourceful and quick witted, with the ability to break codes and pick locks like they re nothing (being locked in a tower with nothing but books means she s got a lot of hobbies). Elizabeth has no experience with shooting and fighting, but she effectively helps Booker. She looks for ammunition and health kits and provides them to the main character. Her participation plays a vital role during battles. Elizabeth even saves Booker life few times. That time Elizabeth gave him CRP on the beach when he almost drowned, or that time she caught him with a blimp to save him from falling off the city, or that time she gave herself up to Songbird to save his life. Elizabeth is essential to succeed. There is also no sexual undertone in her relationship with Booker. Creative director of Irrational Games, said that In terms of her body type, I think certainly people on the Internet have spent way more time thinking about Elizabeth s chest than I have, he said. • 18. Analysis Of Jason And The Quest Of The Golden Fleece Jason and the Quest of the Golden Fleece King Aeson was the ruler of Thessaly, married to Queen Polymede. Aeson was not a strong king, and the land was in turmoil because it had lost its rarest gift, the Golden Fleece, which had been stolen and taken to Colchis, at the other end of the earth. The Golden Fleece was given to Thessaly as a gift from the gods, and the people believed that they would have good luck as long as they had the fleece. Once it was gone, hard times fell in Thessaly, and the people blamed King Aeson for not keeping the fleece safe. The king and queen desired a son, and Jason was born. They noticed that Jason was bigger, better looking, stronger, and more talented than other babies. This, they realized, meant that they had been chosen as the parents of a hero. At this time, Polymede recalled a dream she had had months prior, when Zeus had visited her and had an affair with her. Now she knew that this had been reality, not a dream. At that time, King Aeson s brother, Pelias, stole the throne from Aeson, who was not strong enough to prevent the overthrow. Fearing for Jason s life, he and Polymede pretended that the infant had died, and they had a funeral ceremony. King Aeson was imprisoned by Pelias, and Queen Polymede became Pelias wife, against her will. This was considered an act of incest and was not accepted by the people of Thessaly. Interval recording is flexible and provides useful data particularly for off task behaviour. It is broken down into intervals or blocks of time, and observations are marked separately for each interval. Since we would like to get Joey to be on task, we want to know how long each type of behaviour lasts (on/off), we will therefore require a method to ensure each duration. Another consideration is to make it as easy as possible since the teacher is busy and has other students to consider (ear bud, please see materials). Lastly, but importantly, we need the information to be useful to our particular situation as our goal for Joey is to be on task most or all the time. Joey s behaviour is non uniform so whole interval method was chosen, as it will provide better data concerning time on/off task behaviours even though this method puts more demand on the ... • 20. Symptoms And Symptoms Of Krabbe s Disease Krabbe s disease has many signs and symptoms. There are three stages of this condition in infantile form. Stage 1: The infant is seemingly normal and healthy for the first couple months after birth. However during early onset of this disease, the child has signs of incoordination, vomiting, irritability, unexplained fevers and stiff posture. Initial symptoms that may occur are seizures (Wenger 2000). There is slight developmental regression and behavioral abnormalities, in particular, displaying hypersensitivity to sound and touch (ORDR). Throughout this stage, the Cerebrspinal Fluid (CSF) protein concentration at this point is significantly increased (Wenger 2000). The CSF is a liquid that bathes the brain and spinal cord. Its function is to cushion the brain and spinal cord, protecting against injury. It also circulates chemicals and certain nutrients that are filtered from the blood and it also removes waste products from the brain (Lantos 2011). The second stage of Krabbe s disease involves aplasia and hypoplasia, which is a defective development of the abdominal wall musculature. There is also hypertonia, which is damage to the Central Nervous System (CNS). The CNS is the brain and the spinal cord, which controls most of the functions of the body and mind. There is also visual impairment, sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL), cognitive impairment, and electromyography (EMG) abnormalities (ORDR). These symptoms vary from person to person (Wenger 2000). Harvey Milk Thesis Statement Due to the increasingly negative view of homosexuality in the late 1970 s and early 1980 s, the LGBTQ community was facing a world altering decision; they could either shrink into the background, and allow the world to continue to draw its opinions based on speculation, or claim the spotlight and allow themselves to be judged based on their own merit. Harvey Milk, the first openly gay elected official in the United States (Hope Speech, Commentary) saw a need for an uprising of the latter. When addressing a crowd of his supporters and the Lesbian, Gay, Bi Sexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ) people in The Hope Speech at San Francisco City Hall on Gay Freedom Day in 1978, Harvey Milk uses the I You/Us Them relationships as defined by Martin Buber, pathos appeals, and shared experiences to establish an emotional bond with the LGBTQ community. This relationship of comradery and mentorship, deeply rooted in shared values, best prepared the crowd to absorb his message of activism and hope. Harvey Milk, though he had known since high school that he was gay (Biography), was initially outwardly ambivalent to legislation passed against the LGBTQ community. This all changed after he befriended a group of gay radicals in his mid forties. They propelled him into the politically charged world of activism, in which he developed his voice, and stood out as a leader in the LGBTQ community. Children Should Spend Watching Television Animated cartoons, or motion pictures using animated techniques to display sequential drawings, have been a popular form of entertainment since the early eighteenth century. From the 1920 s to the 1960 s was a time marked as the golden age of cartooning. Years after that would provide a special time slot that had kids waiting in anticipation for the weekends, a term known as Saturday Morning Cartoons. Research conducted within the last decade has concluded that children spend significantly more time watching television than they do learning in classrooms. The sociological textbook, Sociology the Essentials, states The average person consumes some form of media sixty nine hours per week more time than they likely spend in school or at work; thirty three of these hours are spent watching television (Andersen 42). However, when many people ponder about America, they associate it with a place where citizens have tons of freedom and equality. But sometimes, Americans do not get these freedoms and equality right off the bat as other people in other countries expect. Being an American can come with a lot of perks, such as the freedom to speak your thoughts, freedom to express yourself and several more; However, to obtain these perks, freedoms, and rights, the people must be able to fight and defend their rights. Therefore, along the many reasons of being an American, to be an American means to fight for and defend their rights. Through the study of literature and history, the reader will learn that in certain circumstances, people will realize that they will have to fight and defend their rights against those who tries to take it away. In the poem, I, Too, Langston Hughes shows that to be an American means that you should refuse to buckle under awful pressures. David Suzuki Diversity Is Strength Pluralistic superiority is a pervasive concept existing in a significant portion of the Westernized world, enforcing the notion that multi cultural, multi ethnic, and multi national ideologies are inextricably related with societal and economic progress, exemplified by the myopic and unsubstantiated quotation Diversity is Strength from the current incumbent of Canada s position of prime minister. The fundamental issue with this perspective is its inability to properly process anterior information related to alternate states, and the orthodox prerequisites involved in the ascension of relevant nation states by creating such an axiomatic statement which purportedly embodies the quixotic goals of a state. An intrinsic issue related to David Suzuki s postulation that diversity of all variants is useful to the perpetuation of the is his intentional disregard for the biological notion of conflict within ecosystems, specifically pertaining to invasive species and the ecosystems (and entities inhabiting the ecosystem) which are the recipients of said invasion; if a species is relocated to an ecosystem and possesses traits which fundamentally do not align with the synergistic and symbiotic nature of the ecosystem , there exists a ubiquitous consequence for the denizens who are accustomed to the relatively static nature of their environment. The socio cultural correlation, related to the biological notion of ecosystem equilibrium, is the introduction of individuals who possess fundamental disagreements with the predominant ethical and moral perspectives of the majority of inhabitants; this, historically, results in the amplifications of tension between the two groups (primary inhabitants and incompatibly invasive) and the inexorable suppression (this has a propensity to manifest in both active and passive assimilation or the relocation of the minority into a specific region) of the incompatibly invasive or the disintegration of the primary inhabitants social structure . Present within both a biological and socio cultural structure is compatibility within an ecosystem, and operating within the confines of such permits a higher degree of success when approaching multi culturalism, but attempting to implement the unrestricted proliferation of any species or culture within an environment, as proselytized by David Suzuki, is not functional. • 41. The Three Stages Of Memory Encoding On a day to day basis humans are processing different information constantly. Have you ever wondered how this is possible? Have you ever wondered why you are able to obtain new information, store it, and then recall it for later usage? For example, how is it possible that we can study for a test one day, and then the next day we are able to retrieve that very information to use to take and pass a test? Because memory is an important cognitive process it helps us to record the past, so we are able to refer back to it at a later date. If humans didn t have a memory, we would only be able to understand the present and our past wouldn t exist. The urge to study how memory works and the concept behind, it has been around for many years. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This happens through three stages which include encoding, storage, and retrieval. Memory Encoding Before information is able to be stored successfully in our memory, information from our sensory input has to be changed into a form in which our brain is able to comprehend. For example, our perception of something may be different from how it is actually explained, so we have to encode it in order to better understand it. There are three main stages where encoding occurs; visual (picture), acoustic (sound), and semantic (meaning) (McLeod, 2007). We go through these three stages often without even realizing it. For example, when we have to remember a series of numbers for something, we may keep referring back to it so we have a mental image of it (visual), we may repeat it to ourselves ( acoustic), and it has to be significant to us otherwise we would have a need to remember it (semantic). Memory Storage Storage in the human memory is the second of the three processes. The process of storing information involves filtering out and filing information so our brain does not experience an information overload. The information our brain receives can be stored into our long term, short term or sensory memory. Memory storage also involves how long we are able to obtain that information and how much information our brain can actually withhold. According to Miller (1956) most adults are able to store between 5 and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Telling Lies In The Great Gatsby Just Tell Me The Truth Have you ever wondered why it can be so hard to tell the truth, or why it seems better to tell a lie? In both F. Scott Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby and Rob Marshall s Chicago, characters lie because they feel that it is easier. However, lying leads to a downward spiral. The society we live in can either lead us to a complicated relationship with the truth or easy going. The problem with constantly telling lies is that it starts off with one then leads to another until everything you say is a lie. People know it is easier to tell lies than face the truth because they are either doing it for money, or protection for themselves, people they love, or relationships. Yes, telling lies can help but imagine the damage you re building up on the way. Nobody likes liars and liars can be found anywhere, even families lie to each other. Relationships are just like thin pieces of paper that make small tears to it every time a lie is told. The paper can be put back together but it will never be the same or be seen the same. When it comes to protecting the liar itself or people they love, telling lies is known to be easier. In the Great Gatsby, Jay Gatsby tells Nick, My family all died and I came into a good deal of money. (65), so they started off with lies. It was discovered that his whole family wasn t dead when it was Gatsby s funeral because his father attended his funeral. He also lies about his the money and his past. Around these people I change the way I talk or the way I act, to show a personality that is not naturally mine. A quick tour around the house shows many objects that describe the people who live in the house: family pictures, a piano and three violins, three cars, and Bible verses on the walls. Happy Valley is one of the wealthier suburbs in all of Portland, with a median salary higher than West Linn or Lake Oswego: the presence of three cars further exemplifies this. In such a wealthy community, having a quarter acre house indicates that the owners of this house must be at least lower middle class or middle class. The presence of the piano and violins, as well as some paintings on the wall, shows an interest in arts, and with an entire bookcase of CDs, especially music. Looking at the pictures on the refrigerator, it is clear that this is a family of four, with two boys. Both boys and girls can be unorganized, and therefore the Magnetic Organizer is for both genders. The Magnetic Organizer can appeal to many students who have trouble being organized in school. Leaving folders, papers, or homework somewhere are constant struggles of students. Magnetic Organizers can be used by both amateurs and professionals as both need to be organized in order to either become a professional, or stay one. The disabled could probably not use this design, as the main function needed to operate my design is to pull up the bin from the magnetic lock, and be able to grab whatever is placed inside of the magnetic binder. This is not a very complex design, so it can be used without much previous knowledge on how it functions. The concept of the design can be learned fairly quick. Similar Products Many common products meet the need as the magnetic organizer. One of the most common are named folders. This product meets the same purpose as the Magnetic Organizer, although, is very simple. Papers can fall out if turned upside down, and can cause much stress if done on accident. The explanation for the increase in wireless network costs is explained as a result of an increase in the average cost per unit, driven by a shift to higher priced units in the mix of devices sold, partially offset by a decline in the number of units sold. While Wireless costs went up, Selling, general and administrative expenses went down. This was due to non operational credits recorded in 2015. A contributing factor of this was a decline in sales commission in the Wireless segment. This drop in commissions was due to an increase in consumers choosing to use the device payment plan rather than point of sale purchase. Depreciation and amortization expenses also decreased in 2015. This was due to Depreciation and amortization expenses not being recorded on Wireline assets in California, Florida, and Texas. These Assets are classified as held for sale as of February 5, 2015. Verizon explained their reasoning for this in the review by stating We will not record depreciation and amortization expense on our depreciable Wireline assets in California, Florida and Texas through the closing of the transaction with Frontier, which is expected to occur at the end of the first quarter of 2016. People who are medically obese usually are affected by behavior, genetic and environmental factors that are difficult to control with dieting. Obesity increases the likelihood of certain diseases especially cardiovascular disorders and diabetes. Obesity has become a pandemic nowadays. In the Indian scenario, even with the growing awareness about health and fitness, more than 3 percent (3 crores) of the Indian population is obese. Our study aims to determine the association of BMIwith cardiac output, forearm and calf blood flow in healthy young male adults. Our results are consistent with our hypothesis. Cardiac output was found to be significantly more in obese subjects compared to overweight and normal BMI group. Similar results were found in other studies too. Obese individuals have expanded central blood volume. In addition, stroke volume and cardiac output are both increased. These changes in blood volume and cardiac output are most likely due to the increased metabolic demand that result from increases in both lean and fat mass. The large fat depots in significant obesity produce a low resistance vascular circuit that may further increase cardiac output. There may also be changes in renal absorption of salt and water. The combination of these factors is proposed to produce a form of volume overload which can give rise to high output failure later.
