government in non for profit organization. In Quadrant C, stakeholders are defined as operational

United States Political Thought As A Democracy
United States political thought today as of today is considered a democracy. A democracy is where the
citizens of the United States are eligible to vote for the leaders that represent the country. Without the
drafting of the British documents, such as The Magna Carta and the Petition of Rights along with the
political upheaval of the Glorious Revolution and Enlightenment, America today would be following
the traditional acts of arbitrary monarchical rule. All of these specific times in history were outcomes
of people seeing that absolute monarchies were trouble for the fundamental rights of the people. Being
under an absolute monarchy is similar to being under a dictatorship which leaves no say in the hand of
the people.
The Magna Carta, also known as The Great Charter, was the first step into people receiving the rights
that they deserved. The King of England, King John was forced by his barons to sign the charter to
establish that the monarch was no longer absolute and that the people were guaranteed a trial by jury
and due process of law. King John is considered to be one of the worst kings in history. He was not in
favor of the people, he was in favor of himself. He was such a greedy King who would penalize any
baron who went against his wishes.
In 1206, King John lost some land that he was insistent on getting back. Normandy, Anjou, Maine and
parts of Poitou were no longer under his control. The way he went about it was to harshly raise the
taxes. If the people

The Destruction Of The Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant
The destruction of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in March 2011, caused by an
earthquake and subsequent tsunami, resulted in massive radioactive contamination of the Japanese
mainland. In November 2011, the Japanese Science Ministry reported that long lived radioactive
cesium had contaminated 11,580 square miles of the land surface of Japan. Approximately 4,500
square miles an area almost the size of Connecticut was found to have radiation levels that exceeded
Japan s allowable exposure rate of 1 mSV (millisievert) per year. For perspective, 1 mSV is equivalent
to 100 milliRem, which is the standard unit of dose used here at the shipyard. In a normal background
radiation field, an individual is exposed to .02 milliRem/hr dose. Studies of the disaster have identified
design changes, response actions and other safety improvements that could have reduced the amount
of radioactivity released from the plant. As a result, nuclear plant safety requirements around the
world have been reexamined, including here in the United States. Figure 1 shows normal operation of
a reactor along with the meltdown process to put in to perspective the summary of Fukushima Daiichi
disaster events. In Short it does something like this: The Tohoku earthquake, March 11 2011, triggered
a tsunami both of which caused damage to the 4 power plants at Fukushima. The damage caused
equipment failures and a loss of coolant accident due to the in ability to supply the reactors with

Oxfam Mission Statement
Mission, Vision, and Values
Dustin M. Wimbish

Mission, Vision, and Values An organization s vision is based on what it feels is possible to achieve,
all about the potential it possesses. The organization s mission is the process it employs to make that
vision a reality. An organization s values are the fundamental principles that are established by the
stakeholders in an effort to guide the organization. An organization s core values must match up with
the mission and its vision to contribute to the overall success of the organization. The core values are
what management practices and expect the employees to practice as well in order to fulfill the

It provides direction to let the employees and stakeholders know where the company is going . When
forming a vision, the leadership must be realistic about their market, competition, economic climate,
and regulatory conditions and properly ascertain and espouse the values of management, employees,
and stakeholders (Schoemaker, 1992). A company s mission is its statement that communicates the
purpose of the organization. It gives the who, what, and why of the business. This successful
completion of the strategic planning and execution process allows for the public and the organization s
members to see that the vision was established to be reality and not simply rhetoric, as is the case with
many organizations that suffers from confrontations between management and a lack of commitment
to the organization s vision and values (Fiegener, Brown, Prince File,1996). The three organizations
listed all took steps towards strategic planning and execution in the formation of their vision, mission,
and values statements. Creating The Future was by far the poorest example of strategic planning and
execution. Their mission, vision and values are too ambiguous to properly inform or inspire its
members or supporters. On the other end of the spectrum, Oxfam and The Diaper Bank have strong,
clear visions, and mission and they are supported by a good set of core

Analysis Of The Book Carver Essay
Every story you read has an author behind it now how you interpret that s up to you, but some authors
have a completely different interpretation of their writing. Some authors hide deep meaning behind
their writings that can be difficult to catch. Authors will use symbolism to tell a different story. A
period of their life could affect the way they write and you can see that as a reader if you pick apart the
story. Raymond Carver is a great example on how a period in his life affected his writing. Carver was
going down a dark path which readers can see the affects of this period in his life in his writing style.
It took Carver some time to find his sense of hope again, and when he did so did his writing. Carver
was known to be a great writer even according to Stephen King, Carver was considered to be one of
the most influential writing in the 20th century (King). Also, know for being one of the most important
contributors to literature. In his short stories Carver chronicled the everyday lives and problems of the
working poor in the Pacific Northwest. His blue collar characters are crushed by broken marriages,
financial problems, and failed careers. This short stories mirrored Carver s own life. Carver s stripped
down, minimalist prose style is remarkable for its honesty and power. He is credited with helping
revitalize the genre of the English language short story in the late 20th century.Carver dealt with a

that works by emitting sound waves through water and allowing the sound waves to reflect off the

to be the pressure hull. It is the most important because when the submarine goes below the water
there is lots of pressure pushing in on it. Most submarines have two hulls one on the outside that is

Visual Literacy And Its Impact On The Picture
Have you ever watched a food commercial with images of juicy burgers or rich dark chocolate and
instantly desired to eat that particular food based on the picture? These are clever advertising and
marketing tools used to lure consumers with enticing the imagination. These tools have been used for
many years and prey on our use of visual literacy. Visual literacy is the capacity to explain what we
see through images and make meaning of them. The textbook, Visual Literacy: Learning to See, and
Brian Kennedy s video, Visual Literacy and Why We Need It, explains the definition of visual literacy
differently. The textbook and B. Kennedy s video both offer an intellectual clarity on visual literacy,
but the textbook gives a more accurate definition based on today s world, seeing as there is a
continuous use of images in advertisements and marketing, which rely on much more than just our
sight.
Visual Literacy has a monumental impact on how we interpret the images we view daily such as
commercials and billboards. With the use of these images and the variety of ways they are produced,
our visual literacy needs to interpret if what we are seeing is safe, reliable or accurate. In the journal,
Visual Literacy and the Digital Native, Emmanuel and Challons Lipton state, Visual literacy involves
thinking differently, asking interesting questions, seeing the nuances of things. Visual literacy enables
one to effectively embrace art as an instrument of knowledge, an instrument of

Case Study Of Maggi
MAGGI : The Crisis and the way forward
Summary
This case study is about the crisis that happened to Nestle s brand Maggi. This case details how a
company who was running successfully and was the market leader for the past 30 years in the instant
noodles segment, was suddenly banned in the whole country. Owing to concerns related to MSG and
Lead levels in Maggi samples, many state government banned usage of Maggi. The MSG and the lead
levels were found way above the permissible limits.
Currently, the ban for exports has been lifted by the Bombay HC but still Maggi samples have to be
tested again and only based on successful results can Maggi resume the production.

Recommendations
The first and the foremost thing that Nestle should do is to educate the audience about what wrong has
been done through television and newspaper advertisements and active communication with the
consumers through media. They can t remain conservative at this point and need to reply to media.
Only through this can they salvage their image.
Also, although they should have hired external crisis management team pretty early, but still hiring
them is a great move on the part of Nestle. They should co work with the crisis team to develop a fool
proof strategy to recover the brand image of Maggi in the minds of the Indian consumers so that as
soon as the test results are out and ban on maggi circulation is completely removed, consumers should
be as willing to buy maggi, as they were before the incident happened.
Nestle could come out with a statement detailing all that had happened and what possibly went wrong
on their part. They should clearly specify what they have done to rectify any problem whatsoever and
what all plans they had for the future regarding the safety of their food

Validity and Reliability Matrix Essay
Galinda Individual Validity and Reliability Matrix Internal consistency The application and
appropriateness of internal consistency would be viewed as reliability. Internal consistency describes
the continuous results provided in any given test. It guarantees that a range of items measure the
singular method giving consistent scores. The appropriateness would be to use the re test method in
which the same test is given to be able to compare whether the internal consistency has done its job
(Cohen Swerdlik, 2010). For example a test that could be given is the proficiency test which provides
three different parts to the test, but if a person does not pass the test the same test is given again.
Strengths The strength of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Weaknesses The weakness would be if the characteristics that are being measured assumed would
change over time, and lower the test/retest reliability. If the measurements were due to variance other
than error variance there would be a problem. If the reliability of a test is lower than the real
measurement it may be because the construct may varies. Parallel and alternate forms The parallel and
the alternative forms of test reliability utilize multiple instances of the same test items at two different
time with the same participants (Cohen Swerdlik, 2010). These kinds of test of reliability
measurement could be proper when a person is measuring traits over a lengthy period of time, but
would not be proper if a person was to measure one s emotional state. Strengths The parallel and
alternate form measure the reliability of the core construct during variances of the same test items.
Reliability will go up when equal scores are discovered on multiple form of the same test. Internal
consistency estimate of reliability can analyze the reliability of a test with the test taker going through
several exams. Weaknesses The parallel and alternate form test takes up a lot of time and can be
expensive along with bothersome for test takers who have to take different versions of the test over
again. These tests are not dependable when measuring

The Theory Of Leonardo Da Vinci s Multiple Intelligence...
Gardner s Multiple Intelligence theory challenged traditional beliefs in the field of education and
cognitive science. He is a psychologist professor at Harvard University s Graduate School of
Education. According to a traditional definition, intelligence is a uniform cognitive capacity people are
born with. Simply put, intelligence is the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills. Gardner s
theory of Multiple Intelligences proposes that all human beings possess each of the nine intelligences
in varying amounts. In addition, he claims that these intelligences are located in different parts of the
brain which can work together or independent of each other, and that the multiple intelligences can be
strengthened or weakened depending how you treat each intelligence. The nine intelligences are as
follows:
Visual/Spatial People who are strong visually/spatially learn best when they are given material that is
organized spatially. They like to have physical models or to see what is being taught to understand.
They enjoy anything eye catching like charts, graphs, maps, tables, illustrations, art, or puzzles. A man
that immediately comes to mind that shows exceptional visual/spatial intelligence is Leonardo Da
Vinci (1452 1519), who not only was a great artist who created pieces such as the Mona Lisa and The
Last Supper, but also studied the anatomy of the human body. He sketched detailed diagrams of parts

however, left a bitter taste in the global community s mouth. Though British Prime Minister The Right
Honourable Sir Winston Churchill and President George W. Bush were both wartime leaders with

Similarities Between The Spanish Inquisition And The...
Every single person has a gift, not all gifts are noticeable at first or help anyone in particular, but
everyone posses something special. Some people can do two digit multiplication in their heads, have
the trait of leadership, be so convincing that everyone shares the same view as them, or just maybe
have the gift to bake a perfect apple pie. But with every gift comes a curse; other people become
jealous and remorseful of different gifts, or the gift holder becomes narcissistic and arrogant. The

During the Inquisition, the world as a whole had an affinity towards religion, whether it was in
Europe, Asia, or the New World, they all focused on religion. In many circumstances religion was the
main factor of deciding, new decrees, declaring war, and the laws that changed the society as a whole.
While some of the disdain towards the Jews was their success in politics and other professions, it was
mostly the desire to have a unified religion that drove the Christians to persecute the Jews. The idea of
mass converting the Jews, did not start occurring during the Inquisition, it actually started centuries
before during the Roman Empire in 64 BCE, when the General Pompey went to attack Jerusalem. The
Spanish Inquisitors routinely tried to convert the Jew and disprove the torah, they did this by quoting
the Talmud and Bible. But one thing unique to the Inquisition was that the Jews were given a choice to
either convert, be expelled, or killed. The government started by sending in inquisitors to take the
Jews into custody and force them to convert or die, it was not until the March 1492 that the Jews were
forced from the country. But the Jews that converted they were let back into high society, they once

Security Cameras In Public Safety And Safety In Schools
Standing in the english classroom, I realized that my phone was nowhere to be found. As I searched
through my belongings, I began to feel a sense of despair and disbelief. I wondered if I could have left
my phone in another class; the bathroom; at lunch; or even worse, if someone had stolen it. After
investigating each area, I still could not find my phone. Suddenly, I realized that the school might have
security cameras that may locate the phone. However, I was shocked to learn that the school did not
have such surveillance cameras. The use of security cameras may have helped avoid this situation. In
regards to public safety and welfare, security cameras provide an effective way to oversee individuals
and their actions. Schools should continue their surveillance practices to maintain safety and ensure
justice for crimes or other offences.
Security cameras are beneficial because the safety of students will be increased. Fights and stealing
can be caught on camera and then the people involved can receive consequences for their actions. For
example, if my chromebook is stolen in school, the security cameras can be checked. The cameras will
show who took the stolen item, and they will receive necessary consequences. As a result, people
would have less items stolen from them. Individuals that were involved in fights can also be caught.
Administrators will not be relying on the stories of the ones involved, but on reliable cameras.
Therefore, overall, the security

A House Amid The Thickets Analysis
Akinari s use of dramatic irony also deserves attention. In A House Amid the Thickets, Akinari utilizes
literary interlacing to provide the reader with information on both Miyagi s and Katsushiro s status.
For example, when Katsushiro leaves the reader learns that Miyagi writes poetry (122) and that a man
tries to seduce her, which prompts her to bolt the door and decline all visitors (123). The reader then
learns in the next few paragraphs that Katsushiro makes a great profit in Kyoto (123) and finds
himself accosted by robbers (123 124). After these moments, seven years pass and Katsushiro finally
embarks on the trek back home, where he learns all the reader learns earlier. Dramatic irony factors
into Akinari s use of interlacing because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To address a possible counterargument, yes, Manago is technically a serpent demon. But, this demon s
portrayal of a women plays an integral role in the tale. Hence, if the characters realize Manago s true
identity as a demon from the beginning, the tale ends abruptly. Contrasting from Miyagi and Tomiko,
Manago and Miyagi s ghost display agency, power, and craftiness. Beginning with Miyagi s ghost, she
represents craftiness and power: Or was it her ghost, he thought, her ghost yearning for love that came
back to meet me? It was just as I remembered her, and in excess of grief, he began to weep (129).
Here, Miyagi s ghost not only creates an artifice that deceives Katsushiro (craftiness), but she also
elicits a wave of emotion from him because her trick forces Katsushiro to come to terms with his
neglect of his wife. The power for a woman in Edo era Japan to shame a man to the point of
repentance and emotional instability truly demonstrates the influence of the supernatural to subvert
societal norms. Greater Learning claims: In her dealings with her husband, both the expression of her
countenance and style of her address should be courteous, humble, and conciliatory, never peevish and
intractable, never rude and arrogant that should be a woman s first and chiefest care (38). Miyagi s
ghost rejects this rule entirely. What humility or courtesy resonates in the ghost of a man s wife

Girls Of Riyadh By Rajaa Alsanea
The novel Girls of Riyadh by Rajaa Alsanea is originally written in Arabic as Banat al Riyadh and
translated in English as Girls of Riyadh. It is a conservative story which moves around the lives of
four close friends who belong to an elite class. Its topic is very sensitive and related to a different
world where men dress traditionally and pose themselves as ambassador of Islam but details of their
everyday lives are very weird. Women of their society are standing at the cross road of two
civilizations family culture and modern world culture. This novel no doubt has the ability to shake up
a conservative society. it s the reason when this novel was, published it was taken away from the
bookstores and put in the list of banned books. It gives us insight into the lives of the woman of elite
class and talks about their trials and tribulations as they want to get true love in the setting of Islamic
Riyadh. What makes this novel different from other fictional books is its openness about sex, and male
female relationships and it unveils Saudi life which is unexplored. All these bare facts justify its
comparison with American novel Sex and the City in which four American women are searching their
love but those women belong to Manhattan who are bold and open but it is the story of Abaya girls
who keep themselves covered from head to toe but conduct love affairs secretly.
It reveals the feminine experience in oppressive and restrictive environment of Islamic

Relationship Between Body Mass Index And Gender
The first Chi Square analysis I ran is to determine a relationship between Body Mass Index(BMI) and
Gender. The P Value is 0.202744 while the level of significance is 0.05. This led to non significance.
The second chi square analysis I ran is to determine a relationship between being on a sports team or
with BMI. The P Value is 0.574058 while the level of significance is 0.574. This means the data was
non significant. The third chi square analysis I ran is to determine if there is a relationship between
having friends who exercise and the college students feeling towards running. The Chi Square number
is 5.43 with a P value of 0.019. This led to significance between the two data points. I ran a regression
analysis to see if gender, being on a sports team, or the amount of time you exercise per week
influences GPA. The P Value for gender is 0.072, while the P Value for being on a sports team is
0.020. With a level of significance of 0.05 these two data points were significant. The amount of times
exercised per week P Value is 0.64, while I am looking for a level of significance of 0.05. This led the
results to be non significant for times exercised per week and GPA. In the introduction, I stated that I
expect those who exercise to have a lower GPA than those who don t. I felt this because I think if you
work out you will have less time to study or focus on school work. After running a regression analysis,
I found that there was no relationship between the two. The

Wilfred Owen Research Paper
Born on the 18th of March, 1893 in Oswestry, England to parents of Welsh descent, Wilfred Edward
Salter Owen was the eldest of four children. At the age of four, his family moved from his grandfather
s home to a place in Birkenhead, where Owen attended school for the next 7 years ( Wilfred Owen ).
His family then moved again, this time to Shrewsbury where he finished up his schooling before
trying for university. However, when he failed to win a scholarship he was forced to take a job as a lay
assistant to the Vicar of Dunsden ( Wilfred (Edward Salter) Owen ). At this job, Wilfred Owen became
more aware of the economic and social issues. When it became clear to him that the Church of
England was not doing enough to help solve these issues, Owen began writing poetry. His initial
forays into were frequently about conventional subjects ( Wilfred Owen ). Owen s disillusionment
lead him to once again try for a scholarship to university in 1913. When this again failed to

Descriptive Essay About My Wedding
The year we were married was the most exciting and blissful time I can remember from beginning to
end. In the winter before the wedding, we bought a house in the sleepy town of San Carlos; where
Vince was raised and attended high school. The blue, cottage style dwelling suited us perfectly and I
had the time of my life decorating it with timeless treasures that I lovingly collected at flea markets
and antique shops. Once I transformed our house into a home, and the season turned into spring, we
embarked on a ten day sailing vacation in the British Virgin Islands. Vince chartered a 45ft. sailboat
and we set off into the sunset. After a morning sail, we anchored in a different secluded bay or idyllic

Argumentative Essay About Halloween
Christian s who ever said your Halloween has to be evil?
Most Christians I think it s fair to say cringe at the thought of Halloween? But, who ever said that it
has to be an evil time for them or those who visit there house for candy on that night? With the right
purpose and motive it can actually be a very fun and exciting night! Helping to take it back from those
who think it is just plain evil, at least for ourselves to begin with. Maybe, it s because somehow so few
have been educated on halloween s history. Or the history of witches and witchcraft in our Country
and around the world. Why, is it that so many attach or try to attach witches with Halloween? Witches
have been seen in books and movies as ugly, evil and cruel! They were never suppose to be people
that were role models to our childen. Or ones they wanted to dress like or imitate in any way. On Oct
31st most people will simply ignore the dark side of Halloween. The vast majority of the population
will dress up in costumes, go to parties and eat candy without ever even considering where the holiday
came from or what certain people are doing behind closed doors on that night. The history of
Halloween can be traced back to the ancient Celtic pagan celebration called Samhain (pronounced sah
win ). Samhain, it s origin s come from pagan celebrations where witchcraft was performed and
sacrifices were made that occurred on Halloween night. The night before All

  • 3. United States Political Thought As A Democracy United States political thought today as of today is considered a democracy. A democracy is where the citizens of the United States are eligible to vote for the leaders that represent the country. Without the drafting of the British documents, such as The Magna Carta and the Petition of Rights along with the political upheaval of the Glorious Revolution and Enlightenment, America today would be following the traditional acts of arbitrary monarchical rule. All of these specific times in history were outcomes of people seeing that absolute monarchies were trouble for the fundamental rights of the people. Being under an absolute monarchy is similar to being under a dictatorship which leaves no say in the hand of the people. The Magna Carta, also known as The Great Charter, was the first step into people receiving the rights that they deserved. The King of England, King John was forced by his barons to sign the charter to establish that the monarch was no longer absolute and that the people were guaranteed a trial by jury and due process of law. King John is considered to be one of the worst kings in history. He was not in favor of the people, he was in favor of himself. He was such a greedy King who would penalize any baron who went against his wishes. In 1206, King John lost some land that he was insistent on getting back. Normandy, Anjou, Maine and parts of Poitou were no longer under his control. The way he went about it was to harshly raise the taxes. If the people ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Destruction Of The Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant The destruction of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in March 2011, caused by an earthquake and subsequent tsunami, resulted in massive radioactive contamination of the Japanese mainland. In November 2011, the Japanese Science Ministry reported that long lived radioactive cesium had contaminated 11,580 square miles of the land surface of Japan. Approximately 4,500 square miles an area almost the size of Connecticut was found to have radiation levels that exceeded Japan s allowable exposure rate of 1 mSV (millisievert) per year. For perspective, 1 mSV is equivalent to 100 milliRem, which is the standard unit of dose used here at the shipyard. In a normal background radiation field, an individual is exposed to .02 milliRem/hr dose. Studies of the disaster have identified design changes, response actions and other safety improvements that could have reduced the amount of radioactivity released from the plant. As a result, nuclear plant safety requirements around the world have been reexamined, including here in the United States. Figure 1 shows normal operation of a reactor along with the meltdown process to put in to perspective the summary of Fukushima Daiichi disaster events. In Short it does something like this: The Tohoku earthquake, March 11 2011, triggered a tsunami both of which caused damage to the 4 power plants at Fukushima. A company s mission is its statement that communicates the purpose of the organization. It gives the who, what, and why of the business. This successful completion of the strategic planning and execution process allows for the public and the organization s members to see that the vision was established to be reality and not simply rhetoric, as is the case with many organizations that suffers from confrontations between management and a lack of commitment to the organization s vision and values (Fiegener, Brown, Prince File,1996). The three organizations listed all took steps towards strategic planning and execution in the formation of their vision, mission, and values statements. Creating The Future was by far the poorest example of strategic planning and execution. Their mission, vision and values are too ambiguous to properly inform or inspire its members or supporters. Parallel and alternate forms The parallel and the alternative forms of test reliability utilize multiple instances of the same test items at two different time with the same participants (Cohen Swerdlik, 2010). These kinds of test of reliability measurement could be proper when a person is measuring traits over a lengthy period of time, but would not be proper if a person was to measure one s emotional state. Strengths The parallel and alternate form measure the reliability of the core construct during variances of the same test items. Reliability will go up when equal scores are discovered on multiple form of the same test. He is a psychologist professor at Harvard University s Graduate School of Education. According to a traditional definition, intelligence is a uniform cognitive capacity people are born with. Simply put, intelligence is the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills. Gardner s theory of Multiple Intelligences proposes that all human beings possess each of the nine intelligences in varying amounts. • 22. A House Amid The Thickets Analysis Akinari s use of dramatic irony also deserves attention. In A House Amid the Thickets, Akinari utilizes literary interlacing to provide the reader with information on both Miyagi s and Katsushiro s status. For example, when Katsushiro leaves the reader learns that Miyagi writes poetry (122) and that a man tries to seduce her, which prompts her to bolt the door and decline all visitors (123). The reader then learns in the next few paragraphs that Katsushiro makes a great profit in Kyoto (123) and finds himself accosted by robbers (123 124). After these moments, seven years pass and Katsushiro finally embarks on the trek back home, where he learns all the reader learns earlier. Dramatic irony factors into Akinari s use of interlacing because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To address a possible counterargument, yes, Manago is technically a serpent demon. But, this demon s portrayal of a women plays an integral role in the tale. Hence, if the characters realize Manago s true identity as a demon from the beginning, the tale ends abruptly. Contrasting from Miyagi and Tomiko, Manago and Miyagi s ghost display agency, power, and craftiness. Beginning with Miyagi s ghost, she represents craftiness and power: Or was it her ghost, he thought, her ghost yearning for love that came back to meet me? It was just as I remembered her, and in excess of grief, he began to weep (129). Here, Miyagi s ghost not only creates an artifice that deceives Katsushiro (craftiness), but she also elicits a wave of emotion from him because her trick forces Katsushiro to come to terms with his neglect of his wife. The power for a woman in Edo era Japan to shame a man to the point of repentance and emotional instability truly demonstrates the influence of the supernatural to subvert societal norms. Greater Learning claims: In her dealings with her husband, both the expression of her countenance and style of her address should be courteous, humble, and conciliatory, never peevish and intractable, never rude and arrogant that should be a woman s first and chiefest care (38).
