2. Impressionism By Mary Cassatt
Impressionism
Impressionism by definition is: a style or movement in painting originating in France
in the 1860s, characterized by a concern with depicting the visual impression of the
moment, especially in terms of the shifting effect of light and color. But I think that
impressionism gives off more of a feeling, and I think that it sets a mood. I think that
impressionist paintings all have a flow to them and they are very elegant and classy.
The impressionist era started in the 1860s, and ended in the 1880s. It developed in
Paris, and spread throughout Europe. At the time, paintings of still life s and landscapes
were not valued. So impressionist paintings brought about a very new change in the art
world. But in the early 1860s, more and more artists began to discover their interests in
impressionist paintings. These artists brought us the incredible pieces of impressionist
art we have today.
One of the artist s I would like to address is Mary Cassatt. She was born on May, 22,
1844 in Allegheny City, Pennsylvania, United States. She was born into an upper
middle class family, that was well educated, and had a profound influence on her. Mary
traveled all over Europe as she grew up. She learned German and French and also had
her first art lessons while she was traveling abroad. It is most likely that her first
exposure to art was at the Paris World s Fair in 1855. Her family objected to her

6. White House React To Women s March With Silence Analysis
The article of the week White House reacts to Women s March With Silence was basically about how
Donald Trump is ignoring all the protests right outside the White House. The article was week was
interesting, because of the way reacted to the protests. There were hundreds of thousand of people
protesting for Women s March all over the country. What I learned from the article is how hundreds of
thousands of people protested against Donald Trump. It surprises me that Trump barely reacted to the
protesters right outside the White House.
First of all, I think Donald Trump shouldn t have ignored the protests. He addressed the protests with a

Which means he obviously saw them. Then, Trump s Press Secretary Sean Spicer planned to make a
statement. All Spicer did was scold reporters, and he did not answer any protest question. I researched
inaugurations and I found that a inauguration is the transfer of power from the previous president to
president elect. Donald Trump s inauguration was on January 20th 2017. Supreme Court Chief Justice
John Roberts swore in Donald Trump. Since Trump is our new president, he should at least address the
protesters.
Besides, the first amendment law states congress shall make no law abridging freedom of speech. I
think it is really amazing so many came to protest outside the White House. I didn t think so many
people would be protesting. I really think all these protests are great, we are using the first
amendment. All these woman marching down to the White to protest against Trump, I am so glad they

Alexander the caribou is drinking out of the warm arctic ocean with his friends; Owen, and Joshua. It
has been a relatively warm winter month with little snowfall so far this year, then all of a sudden, the
ice cracks separating Alexander from his friends slowly drifting away into the ocean. He attempts to
swim back, but does not make it. In 2002, the George River Caribou Herd (GRCH) population was
between 800,000 900,000 animals but by 2014 the population of caribou was decreased to 14,200
GRCH, in northern Canada. While at first it may appear that animal decline and animal population
loss in Canada/ the northern hemisphere, due to carbon emissions, is not as serious as it seems, but a
closer look reveals that carbon emissions from factories, cars, trains, etc. are a cause of global
warming and that the reduction of private transportation would be a quick efficient solution. By
forcing businesses to pay taxes and restrict the amount of carbon output and the general public to use
less private, and more public transportation, the Earth temperature raising would decline. As a result,
this solution would not only stop the destruction of the animal s; habitats, allowing the population
decline to stop, but also stop all the other effects of global warming, such as worse air qualities, higher
temperatures, and sea levels rising across the world. In Canada and the northern hemisphere of the
world the arctic is melting creating more water than there has ever been in this region of

10. Venezuela s Economic And Social Development Essay
Venezuela has the world s largest oil reserves and by 1960, it became the wealthiest country in Latin
America. Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA), the state owned company, was the key to economic and
social development in Venezuela under president Hugo Chavez. His government was settled in an
environment where the oil prices were rising and the economy was booming, so he was able fund
social programs and practices that were popular to the poor masses. This wealthy and growing
Venezuela made Chavez to be very popular and his regime very powerful. Oil revenue accounted for
nearly 90% of exports, more than 50% of government revenue, and 35% of country s GDP. However,
it does not take an expert to draw the conclusion that Venezuela revenue is extremely volatile and
economy situation directly dependent on the price of the oil barrels. The revenue generated by oil
exports is the main source of foreign exchange, which is used in turn to import many food and
consumer goods, as well as intermediate inputs for production. Venezuela is also heavily dependent on
imports of goods such as raw materials, machinery, electronics, and food. In 2003, Chavez
government started intervening in the currency control, introducing foreign exchange controls that
varied between multiple or single exchange rates. When currency control was introduced, a dollar
bought 1.6 bolivars; while today, the same dollar can buy 172 bolivars at one of the government s
exchange rates. The decline of oil prices and

The Art Of A Pastry Chef
The art of the pastry chef has been around since the eighth century BC. Being a pastry chef is a
difficult job and requires a creative mind. I ve chosen this project to get a greater understanding of the
art. Pastry chefs work in varies places, bake many pastries, and work long hours. Many get training on
the job while others receive their training at a culinary school. Pastry chefs require an eye for detail
and good managing skills; they must also be great at following directions. The history of the start of
pastry chefs goes way back in time.
The Assyrians are known as the first, in the eighth century BC, to conjoin very thin layers of bread
dough with chopped nuts and honey to produce what we know as the Baklava (Made Man: History Of
The Pastry Chef). Greek seamen discovered this and loved the pastry. They brought the recipe to
Athens. Then, Greek pastry chefs discovered a way to roll the dough thinner and they created phyllo
dough. French and Italian Renaissance pastry chefs took the primary phyllo dough recipe and
perfected puff pastries , which were filled with anything from sweetmeats to fruits, small eggs or birds
(Made Man: History Of The Pastry Chef). In the seventeenth and eighteenth century, pastry chefs
created new recipes such as Cream puffs, Eclairs, and Napoleons. Chocolate was first used to create
pastries after Spanish and Portuguese traders brought it to

Abu Nasr Muhammad al Farabi, one the earliest Islamic intellectuals who were instrumental in

the later Islamic philosophers such as Avicenna. He is widely regarded as the founder of philosophy
within the Islamic world. Al Farabi had great influence on science and philosophy for several

the Second Teacher ) in his time. Al Farabi was known to the Arabs as the Second Master . He was

It is difficult to find a philosopher both in Muslim and Christian world from Middle Ages onwards
who has not been influenced by his views. Ammar al Talbi (2000) suggests that Al Farabi represents a
turning point in the history of Islamic philosophical thought, since he was the true first founder of
epistemology which relies upon universal reason and the demonstrations he gave . Education is one of
the most important social phenomena in al Farabi s philosophical system. Al Farabi s concern was to
reestablish unity to Islamic thought. He believed the first aim of knowledge was knowledge of God
and his attributes (F. Copleston, 1980). Philosophy and religion were for him simply two expressions
of a single truth, philosophy explains religion and provides proof of it; it is neither in conflict nor in
contradiction with it. According to al Farabi the perfect human being, is the one who has obtained

21. Analyzing Cyclical Steam Injections Of A Heavy Oil Reservoir
For our senior project, we analyzed cyclical steam injections in a heavy oil reservoir using reservoir
simulations. We began the project as though we had been contracted to analyze a cyclical steam
injection project in a pay zone similar to the Clearwater formation in Cold Lake, Alberta. In this
heavy, dead oil reservoir the facilities, injectors, and producer are already set up in the field with a
seven spot orientation. The company wants further analysis on the project once the market declined,
requesting reservoir simulations be conducted over a six year period before proceeding. Through the
program CMG STARS, we were able to simulate production in a field with similar characteristics,
employing field data from technical papers referenced in this paper. The complex equations
simultaneously solved in CMG STARS including multiphase fluid flow and conservation equations
make the program an invaluable reservoir evaluation tool. Sensitivity analysis was conducted to
monitor the production responses to changes in steam injection parameters, compiling over 40
simulations. The injection was optimized with a total of 35 simulations after identifying the most
significant parameters impacting production. Net present values and cumulative production of oil and
water were analyzed to construct a recommendation for the project. In this paper, we will discuss the
model construction, sensitivity analysis, optimization, and economic analysis in greater detail.

These three rhetorical appeals are commonly used by many authors, but the way he uses them really

questions about the field. In class, we defined public health as both a science and an art, and I learned
that this is true; public health involves scientists studying epidemiology and the incidences of disease
as well as professionals who promote health in the environment and public sector. First, the area in
which my understanding of public health expanded the most involved the different professions one

I plan on entering the workforce of nonprofit management in the future, with possible concentrations
of either arts management or professional and grant writing. The main public health concept that I feel
ties to this career path would be social justice because if I am working in a field that serves
disadvantaged communities, social justice must be important to me personally. If social justice were
not on the top of my list of priorities, I could not effectively carry out the duties of my job. One quote
I wrote down prominently in my notes is the dream of public health is the dream of social justice. To
me, this means making certain that every person has access to the advantages of public health
measures will lead to a healthy and balanced society. In this class, I found that essentially everything
in society leads back to public health and it is a field that communities must uphold in order to provide
optimal quality of life for its

27. Cedar Point Essay
Cedar Point Cedar Point is an amusement park visited by millions of people each year. I ve been to
Cedar Point a few times in my life and I always had so much fun there. What I never realized though,
was how long ago it opened. I also thought that Cedar Point had always been just an amusement park.
Soon I found out that I was wrong on both counts! I learned that there is a lot more history of Cedar
Point, the roller coaster capital of the world, than I thought. Before Cedar Point became the number
one rated amusement park in the world, it was used mainly for hunting and fishing. Later, a bathhouse,
a dance floor, a small beer garden, and the Grand Pavilion was added (Koehl). After that, it didn t take
long for Cedar Point s very first roller coaster to be added! And so, the history of thrill rides for Cedar
Point had begun (Park History). Throughout the years, Cedar Point has undergone many changes. In
the Boeckling Era, George A. Boeckling expanded the park drastically from 1897 all the way until
1931 when he passed away. Boeckling opened hotels, added more rollercoasters, many different rides,
a skating rink, a Coliseum, fortunetellers, and many other attractions. After Boeckling passed away, it

29. Interoperability In Healthcare
Introduction
Interoperability is often a word frequently used as a goal to strive for when improving healthcare in
the United States. Encouraging the utilization of health information exchange has been cited as a
potential way to improve efficiency, increase safety, and enhance quality of care. There are numerous
examples of how linking information between multiple data sources leads to a non trivial task. When
two operations are collecting the same data, but are recording information in different formats, it can
be nearly impossible to bridge the information between those systems. Standards are important
because they can facilitate mutual understanding during in regards to communication and health

Drugs that a clinician or researcher may view as a single medication are distinguished by a multitude
of various codes. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2965522/ For example, if a
researcher wanted to compare the effect of taking 81 mg/1 aspirin, they would not be able to easily
find the same drug produced by two manufactures solely by looking at the NDC codes. If they were to
look at 81 mg/1 coated tablet aspirin for the distributors Chain Drug Consortium and Preferred
Pharmaceuticals, Inc Aspirin, the respective NDC numbers are 68016 642 12 and 68788 0186 2.
When looking at the patterns in the numbers, there is no simple way to deduce that these drugs are the
same. http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cder/ndc/dsp_searchresult.cfm To combat this, the NIH
combines the NDC codes with their own database, RxNorm, which provides normalized names for
many generic and branded drugs. This database was fortified from a knowledgebase from the
healthcare industry company First Databank.

Rinda, please read the next paragraph for us, asked Mrs. Wright. Feeling my ears and face turn stop

what I thought about the paragraph that I finished reading. I told her and the whole class, I don t know.

Yes, they would poke fun at me if I misspelled words or wrote about my love life. That alone was
reasoning to write a well organized letter. The day Mr. Peters read a letter written to me, aloud, was
the day I realized how important it is to make sure what I write conveys an accurate message. He read,
I want to have you come for a long time and maybe dinner. How about meeting at the fair around
6pm? My friend and I died. Everyone had fun with that letter for several months. I believe that event
impacted both of our writing skills and revealed how important it is to make sure the message that one
wants to convey is being interpreted the way it is intended. I managed to get through grammar school

31. Barlow Sanderson Company
The Journey of Barlow, Sanderson, and Co. A lone yellow stagecoach tracks across the Missouri
sands, pulled by two exhausted, well groomed horses. The sharp crack of a whip is heard, and shouts
of Giddyup! echo from the coachman. Inside, a passenger sits patiently, a stack of mail and goods
beside him. A cloud of dust rises up behind the coach, and the constant motion of the wheels kicks up
small rocks that fly like bullets. Before the brisk expansion of railroads in the West in the 1870 1880s,
this was a common sight. Stagecoaches would carry passengers, mail, and freight from town to town,
and one of the most famous stagecoach company was Barlow, Sanderson, and Company later known

In 1866, Barlow and Sanderson s dreams of expansion began to solidify into reality. The company
expanded westward, moving their headquarters to Junction City, Colorado. By 1867, the two tycoons
had a number of short routes such as Fort Larned, Kansas, to Fort Lyon, Colorado, and Bent s Fort to
Pueblo, Colorado. They also decided to change the name to the Barlow and Sanderson Company. By
1869, Barlow and Sanderson were focusing their resources on expanding their routes in Colorado due
to the steadily rising mining industry. This was easily accomplished, and in July, 1870, the Company
bought the Denver and Santa Fe stage line and renamed it to the Southern Overland Mail and Express.
Later that year, they again moved their headquarters, this time to Denver. Thus, by the 1870s, this
company controlled the mail route between Denver and Santa Fe, and operated a tangled cobweb of
lines that linked the San Luis Valley and the San Juan mountains to the railroads. This allowed for
better communication throughout Colorado, as well as improved transportation for people and goods.
Naturally, this was a great improvement, so it is to no surprise that soon the company was the largest
stage line in the

In this essay, I will be using the Gibbs Reflective Cycle (1988) to reflect on my first hand experience
on a specific matter during my first placement allocation as a student nurse. The Gibbs Reflective
Cycle is a six stage model which I believe will allow me to somewhat analyse and give a clear insight
into my experience. As stated by Somerville et al (2004), reflective practice within nursing is
described as a process by which practitioners can better understand themselves in order to be able to
build on existing strengths and take appropriate future action. For my reflection, I will be discussing
what is meant by the term end of life care . End of life care is a set of clinical measures to ensure those

This happens when the conditions in the environment are good. When in they are in the diploid stage,
they mate, and the genes are combined for unique offsprings. The most adaptive offsprings are most
suited for survival. Therefore, the diploid state allows an adaptive advantage, but not the haploid. 4.
Compare and contrast the structure of a fungal mycelium with the structure of a filamentous alga.
The biggest difference is that the fungal mycelium does not have the cytoplasm divided up into
individual cells. The cytoplasm is free to move around into all parts of the mycelium. You can imagine
how quickly the mycelium can distribute nutrients within itself. This allows the mycelium to grow
very quickly. Both are filamentous. 5. What is the advantage of maintaining a dikaryotic condition
rather than immediate nuclear fusion?
Some fungi have a dikaryotic (two nuclei in one cell) stage, more commonly known as a
heterokaryotic stage, because the fungus can wait for an opportune time to fuse the nuclei together and
grow. The fungus would not want to grow rapidly in the diploid stage unless it had adequate food
sources. This waiting will allow for maximum efficiency during its growth. 6. In fungi, the only
distinction between a spore and a gamete is function. Explain. In common parlance, the difference
between spore and gamete (both together called gonites) is that a spore will germinate and develop
into a thallus of
