Analysis Of The Poem Sahgal
Sahgal aptly suggests her faith and hope through the symbolic limbless beggar. The beggar, who looks
a great bone arch, more insect than animal , a monster ant with eyes glaring with intelligence (13) is
the reality many shudder to face. He is the living evidence of man s inhumanity to man as he asserts
his rights, his hands are chopped off by his land lord and he gets no redress from the political leaders
who are all land lords at heart. The mutilation does not intimidate his spirit and he remains a fearless
fighter for freedom. When Nishi s servants try to drag him to the vasectomy camp, he thrashes out,
handless and crippled though, and flings himself out of their reach. Ironically, Rose, who warms him

There are, still a few occasions when the reader is force fed with facts. For instance, Sonali s
grandfather s account of his mother s murder in the name of Sati running to nearly twenty pages (119
to 136) sounds more like a scholarly dissertation on a subject of sociological importance rather than an
authentic rendering of a personal tragedy. The long quotations from the Bombay courier or the List of
Hindoo Widows immolated no doubt establish the veracity of the information given about Sati but the
episode loses a degree of its impetus and ceases to grip the reader. The novel Rich Like Us, shows that
the Sahgal has grown enormously both in her awareness of the manifestation of human relationship,
and sophistication of the presentation of her thematic concerns. In this novel, Sahgal copes effectively
with the portrayal of what is wrong with the contemporary society, with the delineation of the moral
dilemmas as well as with the aesthetic difficulties of conveying a positive message of action in the
fictional format. What Nayantara Sahgal does in Rich Like Us is to highlight the need for intellectual
and practical action to bring about efficacious changes in the contemporary society. In this age of ours,
where in the midst of hectic activity, technical turmoil and jet travel the basic passivity of men
prevails Rich Like Us, an earnest effort to arouse people to induce them to participate emotionally and

Benefits Of Retirement Plan Will Fit Financial Needs
Introduction
Choosing which retirement plan will fit financial needs is not always the easiest decision to make.
While investing in both traditional and Roth individual retirement accounts (IRAs) appears to draw
considerable attention, differences in the rules for contributing to and withdrawing from these
retirement plans places individuals and married couples in a predicament. They may choose to invest
in either a traditional or Roth IRA while they may also choose to invest in self direct, direct
contribution (DB) or defined benefit (DB) plans sponsored by employers. In any case, individuals and
married couples approaching retirement age should carefully consider their own financial needs before
choosing to invest in any retirement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other types of earned income include alimony and military differential pay, but does not include
interest or dividends from investments, income from rental property and pension payments (para. 3).
In terms of contribution limits for individuals and married couples with a Roth IRA, if earned income
for one year is less than the contribution limits, they may only contribute up the total earned income
amount (para. 4). As of 2014, for individuals and married couples under the age of 50, the annual
contribution limit is $5,500. For married couples filing separately, the earned income limit for making
contributions to a Roth IRA is $10,000. Otherwise, a married filing separately does not have any
eligibility for making contributions to a Roth IRA.
Tax Incentives Both traditional and Roth IRAs have generous tax incentives (Spors, para. 3).
However, claiming the tax incentives for either a traditional or a Roth IRA depends on timing. With
traditional IRAs, contributions made to it based on earned income are tax deductible on both state and
federal income tax returns for each year that an individual or married couple contributes (para. 3).
Withdrawals made during retirement receive the ordinary income tax rate (para. 3). Roth IRAs,
however, do not provide any tax incentives for any contributions made to the account, though earnings
and withdrawals are mostly tax free (para. 3). In other words, with traditional IRAs, contributions do
not have

Communism In Joseph Stalin s Piano Sonatas
Communism is a way of governing where the government is in control of everything and everyone.
For the lives of everyone in the country that is Communist will forever be changed. This paper is
written from not only from a place of informed research but from a family who has lived, suffered and
been forever changed by a Communist government. Vladimir Lenin established the Communist Party

3 Op. 28 was finished in 1917, the same year that the Russian Revolution began. In order to avoid the
violence, he went on tour as a concert pianist traveling throughout England and then making his way
to America. This piano solo was written while traveling to America. This one movement sonata is full
of bold, passionate dissonances and frequent mood changes, which the eight sub movements
showcase. Sonata No. 3 is one of great passion and drama, evident in the two diverse themes of the
exposition. The first theme (m. 1 15), is powerful and has lots of energy, sounding almost like a horse
chase. There are constant triplets bounding between the hands and accents not always on the strong
beats, which demonstrate his Russian inspired rhythms. The second theme, (16 53) is a sharp contrast
with its lyrical and fleeting nature. Prokofiev, being a master melodist, creates unease with an eight
note, sixteenth rest, and sixteenth note motive that reappears throughout the piece. This whole sonata
is about juxtaposing melodies, dynamics, and rhythms all in turn creating intensity and

Essay about The Psychology of Social Media
Living in the 21st century requires one to stay current with latest technological advancements. Ever
since the development of social networking sites, people are now able to create a carefully crafted
identity for themselves. This has led psychologists to question how well these online personalities
match the person in front of the computer. The innovative branch of media psychology looks into how
social networking portrays individuals and initiates human interactions within a society.
A basic question is how well are people able to get to know each other through social networking
sites? In a research study, Psychster Inc. explored characteristics of profile pictures and their
association with impression. Using a specially designed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gosling polled the group using a standard Five Factor model personality test which measured
extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, emotional stability, and openness to new experiences
(Steele, Evans, Green, 2008). Then researchers rated the same subjects based solely on their Facebook
profiles, which usually included pictures and lists of interests.
The researchers found a correlation between assessments in four of the five categories. Gosling was
not surprised that emotional stability was the only attribute showing no significant results across
personal and online assessments because it is a quality that people are good at concealing across most
media (Wilson, 2007). Although the extroversion category showed the highest correlation, research
suggests that openness to new experience is perhaps exhibited better online than in person.
Judith Donath, an associate professor at the Media Laboratory at MIT who reviewed Gosling s
research, divides the content of social networking sites into signals and unintended cues. According to
Donath, Facebook users do not intend to share super personal information on their profiles. People
who happen to share a personal status update might be perceived as over sharing without meaning to
(Wilson, 2007).
According to psychologist John Suler and his idea of The Online Disinhibition Effect , some people,
while online, self disclose or act differently than they would

The Muromachi Period
The Kamakura shogunate had control of Japan for over a century but collapsed in 1332 which resulted
in civil wars afterward. These civil wars lead to the rise of the Ashikaga clan and thus began the
Muromachi period which lasted from 1333 to 1573. During this period, Zen Buddhism and older
traditions became popular again. Zen was mainly focused on rigorous discipline and personal
responsibility which influenced samurai and aristocrats, and merchants to place high value in loyalty,
courage and self control. This wasn t just a religion to these people but became centers of culture and
art. In this period, gardens played a major role in the lives of the Zen Buddhist because these

Japan s literati paintings where inspired by China, which was only connected with Japan through
Korea. One of the most famous painters of this style was Yosa Buson, using poetic ability with both
haiku and his paintings. (Kleiner 1075) These changes soon led to the availability of cheap prints and
ukiyo e to depict the delights of the city. One of the most famous ukiyo e printmakers was Suzuki
Harunobu who influenced the development of polychrome prints. These prints were very sumptuous
and colorful and called nishiki e ( brocade pictures ). These prints were made of the best quality
materials and costly pigments and were not very common in the Edo period. Harunobu s genius in his
work is well shown in the Evening Bell at the Clock (Fig. 34 1). This print was based on a Chinese
series where the images depicted a certain time of day or time of year in the work. In Harunobu s
version, the subjects were beautiful young women and their activities in their daily lives. The two
women in the pint are seen from a regular Japanese elevated point of view, with one drying herself and
the other looking away at a clock. Private scenes like this were very common in ukiyo e. Before

Rappaccini s Daughter Comparison
With this concept in mind, readers can simply note that Beatrice was created first before Giovani and
thus the readers can state that in this version of the Garden of Eden, Eve comes before Adam. Instead
of creating Adam first, Rappacini created his own version of Eve through his experimentation with
poison. Then reader s get a sense that instead of creating an Eve for Adam, Rappaccini creates an
Adam for Eve from the line Rappaccini says to his daughter that thou art no longer lonely in the
world...My science and the sympathy between thee and him, have wrought within his system, that he
now stands apart from common men... (424). From these lines, one can once again see this parallel
and Rappaccini s God complex. He sees his science as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, look at how the text describes his creations. The previous lines make use of words like
mockery, depraved, monstrous, and evil to describe Rappaccini s experimental and deadly garden.
These words are all negative in design and by ascribing them to Rappaccini s status of a mortal man
compared to a powerful God, a full picture concerning the two entities is painted for the readers. The
text, due to this word choice, suggests that Rappaccini, cannot recreate the work of God or become a
god himself because he is just a man filled with mockery and mockery. As a mortal person,
Rappaccini cannot fully be God and it is his attempt to play God through his experimentation and
meddling that makes him a large and monstrous threat to those around him; within the story, it is his
God complex in the end that costs him a place amongst normal reality and costs him his own daughter.
From this, one can only make interpretations based on the powers of mortals in comparison to the
powers of God. From the negative adjectives used to describe Rappaccini s experimentation and
garden, readers can interpret that God s power is unreachable and pure compared to those of man.
Those who attempt to mock or mimic the power of God are considered

Web Testing Essay
Web testing is a credible method to evaluate the best online promotional and marketing strategies for a

search ads.
Well planned web testing produces concrete evidence of a well planned marketing strategy.
Continuously testing different hypotheses will not only yield good results for conversion rates, but
will also give us a better understanding of our customers.

For example, Amazon boosted its profits by moving credit card offers from its home page to the
shopping cart page. Such examples that utilized web testing techniques clearly espouses the idea that
tiny changes could have a big impact. In a managerial level, experiments can help managers to
optimize investment based on the potential improvement suggested by these tests. For instance,
experiments in the Microsoft Company on its Bing search engine showed that every 100 millisecond
difference in performance had a 0.6% impact on revenue. With Bing s yearly revenue surpassing $3
billion, a 100 millisecond speedup is worth $18 million in annual incremental revenue. Results
advocate that investing on a project to improve the Bing s response time can generate billions of
dollars for the company. (Kohavi Thomke, 2017)
A/B testing is extremely goal oriented. Before launching an A/B test, we must first decide on the
outcome we hope to achieve. The goal might sound something like this:

More clicks on a paid advertisement
Increase open rates on a welcome email

Selfish Desires In Everyman And The Bacchae By Euripides
The two plays Everyman by an Anonymous play write and The Bacchae by Euripides both have main
characters that have selfish desires that involve the public joining them in their own journey to fulfill
their own greed. In The Bacchae Dionysus is the protagonist, a selfish demigod who wishes to enact
his revenge for the slandering of his and his Mother s name. In Everyman the play revolves around a
character named Everyman, who represents the everyday men and women, and his or her selfish wish
for someone to follow him or her to speak in front of God. These characters selfish desires are the
focus of their plays and at the end of their respective plays truly define their character for either better
or for worse. Dionysus, while being a selfish demigod throughout his play, is characterized solely this
way because he was denied his birth title and this lead his mother to being ridiculed and laughed at for
truths that people claimed were lies. His main goal was to refute that slander spoken by [his] mother s
sister which expresses he wanted to clear the name his mother s name that was misguided (line 32).

Paul Ekman and His Study on Facial Expressions
Paul Ekman was born in 1934 and at age 14 his mother committed suicide after suffering from severe
bi polar disorder. At that point, he decided he wanted to study facial expressions of emotion in order to
assist other people before such tragic outcomes occurred. By the time he was 15, he had enrolled in
University of Chicago and became interested in group therapy. He earned his Bachelor s degree in
1954 and in 1958 he had earned his Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Adelphi University. His Master s
thesis was about the study of facial expressions and body movement. From 1960 to 2004 he worked at
the University of California and starting in 1963 he received continual research grants from the
National Institute of Mental Health for 40 years to study nonverbal behavior.
Paul Ekman was influenced by Charles Darwin s book titled, The Expression of Emotions in Man and
Animals, originally published in 1872. Charles Darwin used photos, drawings and body postures from
animals and humans and compared them with facial expressions and emotions. For instance, a
growling dog has many facial features similar to an angry human. Darwin argued that the existence of
these similarities demonstrates that emotional expression must have evolved through natural selection
in the same way that other characteristics evolved. He further contended that the expressions must
serve a function; they enhance survival of the organism . (Reevy, G. 2010 Encyclopedia of Emotion
(Vol. 2, pp. 410 411). I believe

Celiac Disease Research Papers
Did you know that if you have celiac diease it can stun your growth? There s no cure for celiac disease
but following a strict gluten free diet can help manage symptoms and promote intestinal healing. If
you have celiac disease, eating gluten triggers an immune response in your small intestine. Over time,
this reaction produces inflammation that damages the small intestine s lining and prevents absorption
of some nutrients (malabsorption). When people with celiac disease eat gluten (a protein found in
wheat, rye and barley), their body mounts an immune response that attacks the small intestine. These
attacks lead to damage on the villi, small fingerlike projections that line the small intestine, that

Domestic Violence Against Men By Suzanne Steinmetz
The earliest literature reference to domestic violence against men can be found in the studies of
Suzanne Steinmetz (1977,1978) entitled, The Battered Husband Syndrome. She hypothesizes that the
incidents of husband on wife beatings rivals the incidents of wife perpetrated batterings, and that it
was husband abuse not wife abuse that was underreported form of domestic violence. Steinmetz used
two United States populations, a broadband nonrepresentative group and a random sample in New
Castle, Delaware in the form of police reports and family surveys. The small study found only small
differences in the percent of men and women who resorted to violence in the context of pushing,
shoving, or hitting with hands or an object. This suggested early on that domestic violence is not a one
way street. Husband beating is a serious issue and needs attention due to the fact that it is grossly
underreported. Steinmetz received numerous criticism from her colleagues on this concept. In later
studies, Murray Straus, Richard Gelles, and Suzanne Steinmetz (1980), authors of the book, Behind
Closed Doors: Violence in The American Family, supports Steinmetz s earlier studies in finding that
women acted violently during marital affairs compared to a similar number of men who act violently
in the United States. The study used 2,413 family surveys, finding in majority of them that the level of
violence was a mutual or bilateral activity, with only 27% of cases finding that husbands were the

Statutory Interpretation And The Law Of The Country
Question 1
Introduction
A statute is the formal and the written law of the country. It is passed by the legislative authority of the
country. Generally, statutes, and, prohibit or declare something and sometimes, they are also called as
legislation. In this way, statutory interpretation means the interpretation of the statutes by the courts.
This interpretation takes place when an Act of the Parliament is not clear and as a result, it creates
uncertainty in the law. Therefore, statutory interpretation is required when an Act passed by the
Parliament is not clear, for example a term could have been used to covers a number of opportunities.
Similarly the meaning of a term can also change its meaning over the period of time which results in

any person who sells, hires or offers for sale any flick knife will be guilty of the offense. However in

The Great Communicator By Ronald Reagan
As stated in an article from Newsmakers, Ronald Reagan was known as the Great Communicator
because he was able to clearly speak to the public due to his unusual experiences before presidency
(Newsmakers). Every president of the United States has a unique story, but Reagan possessed many
remarkable characteristics. Today, many people recognize Reagan as a former president, but few know
about the struggles he faced and his success before presidency; his political party transition, handling
economic fluctuation, and his attitude throughout his terms in office made him an unforgettable
political figure. Reagan was born in Tampico, Illinois and grew up in Dixon, Illinois. Dixon is a
typical small town in the midwest. Unlike many other presidents, Reagan had a rough upbringing.
According to a book titled Up Close: Ronald Reagan, his father Jack was an alcoholic. At 11 years
old, Reagan witnessed his father passed out on the porch one evening after returning from the YMCA.
He had to drag his father into the house and put him in bed. Jack was constantly fighting alcoholism
for most of his life causing him to struggle at work, fight with his family members, and disappear
from home. Reagan s mother, Nelle, continued telling him and his older brother, Neil, that their father
was addicted to alcohol and he could not control it. Nelle even sent Ronald and Neil to live with
relatives when Jack s alcohol addiction worsened. Reagan explained that he enjoyed his childhood,

Workforce Instability Due At The Nursing Field
Workforce instability due to burnout in the nursing field, as demonstrated by high rates of staff
turnover and lingering vacancy rates, continue to be a major challenge facing healthcare organizations
in the U.S. According to the Webster s New World Dictionary, the definition of burnout is the
condition of someone who has become very physically and emotionally tired after doing a difficult job
for a long time (Burnout 2015). The term burnout was created in the 1940s, and was used to define
when a jet engine stopped working to the point where it was no longer operational. In the 1970 s,
human beings began to use this word. a psychiatrist Herbert Freudenberger used the term to describe
the status of overworked volunteers in mental health clinics. He compared the loss of idealism in these
volunteers to a building once a vital structure that had burned out, and he defined burnout as the
progressive loss of idealism, energy, and purpose experienced by people in the helping professions as
a result of the condition of their work (Freudenberger 1970 as cited in Copper, 2001). Though nurses
themselves may be overwhelmed, distraught, and unhappy. A high patient to nurse ratio have been
shown to lead to frustration and job burnout, which is linked to higher turnover. Under these
circumstances, nurses leave the industry due to flexibility, to retirement, and to find employment that
is less stressful and physically demanding. In order to minimize attrition in the

according to The British Journal of Psychiatry (Akbaraly, et al., 2009). They found that, processed
food dietary pattern is a risk factor for CES D depression (Akbaraly, et al., 2009). The short term
benefit of eliminating fried foods and process food can help reduce the chances of depression. In
addition, studies show that fried foods are linked to laryngeal cancer according to Cancer research in
the Uk (Bosetti, et al., 2002). The long term benefit of eliminating fried foods and process food can

Mexico Borderlands
This historiography will cover published works that deal with the topic, the history of medicine in the
United States Mexico borderlands. There are three sections that will analyze the history of medicine in
the borderlands in different capacities. The three sections are Transnational Medical Borderlands
Histories, Public Health and The Indigenous Agent, and Traditional Medicine in the Borderlands.
These three sections all use distinct and unique sources that may seem untraditional for historians, but

These three chapters discussed an intertwining time as well as issues. The three chapters also had titles
that seemed to flow from one to the next. Chapter two titled, The Promise of Progress. In chapter two
Gonzalez discussed the agreement between United States and Mexican health officials about
quarantines being useful and used to protect citizens in each country. Gonzalez also informs the
audience that people in both Mexico and the United States had the idea that all people despite their
class should be medically treated if ill. This would in turn help slow disease spread and out breaks.
Chapter three titled, The Appearance of Progress. In chapter three Gonzalez discussed transnational
employment with African Americans in the South (Alabama) looking for equality and freedom in
Mexico. This is the same story Jacoby told in his article. Just like in the Jacoby piece Gonzales comes
up with the same outcome. Racial equality in Mexico compared to that in the United States was just an
illusion. It is the appearance of progress from the outsider s perspective with transnational movement
of labor from the United States to Mexico and better racial relations in Mexico, but this appearance is

Plastic Bags Argument Essay
Government officials and environmentalists try to control everything while claiming it s what s best
for the environment. However, they fail to realize what s best for the people and their lives. By using
logos and factual evidence, Adam B. Summers forms an argument in an attempt to persuade his
audience to fight against the ban on plastic bags. Environmentalists claim plastic bags and other kinds
of wraps destroy marine life. However, according to the U.S Environmental Protection Agency plastic
bags and other wraps only account for about 1.6 percent of the municipal solid waste materials. In
addition, high density polyethylene (HDPE) bags, the most common kind of plastic bags, contributes
to the waste for only about 0.3 percent. It d be

A. Plan of Investigation
The investigation assesses the extent of significance of President Reagan s role in the Iran Contra
affair in the 1980 s. Reagan s role will be looked at while aiding the Nicaraguan Contras, releasing
American hostages, both which led to the Iran Contra affair, and during the cover up, in America and
partly in Iran. An investigation account and American history are mostly used to evaluate Reagan s
role. Two of the sources used in this essay, Firewall: The Iran Contra conspiracy and cover up written
by Lawrence E. Walsh and The Age of Reagan by Sean Wilentz will then be evaluated for their
origins, purposes, values, and limitations.

Also, Oliver North was ordered to teach the Contras military tactics and raised money for them. As
Reagan and his private officials went about on doing this secretly, publicity had a way to find what
was going on. Congress was lied to as a cover up by Reagan so they would not intervene. After his
reelection, Reagan supported another covert program: an attempt to release hostages in Lebanon. This
would soon turn into the Iran Contra Affair. In 1984 a Shiite Islamic group that was loyal to Iran s
Ayatollah Khomeini had captured and held seven Americans hostage in Lebanon. The President was
very much concerned for the Americans well being. An Israeli foreign minister, David Kimche,
insisted that since Iran and Iraq were at war with each other, Iran would need more weapons, and
because Israel would also gain monetary benefits, they could help with persuasion to release the
officials. All the U.S. needed to do was to approve a small shipment of armaments to Iran. Reagan
then agreed to this deal, to sell arms to Iran through Israel, which would induce the kidnappers in
releasing the hostages. Even though Reagan stated before that America will never make concessions to
terrorists, the transferring of arms violated that statement and the Arms Export Control Act since
congress was not informed and didn t give consent. The secret request, hidden from congress would

Montesquieu s Spirit Of Laws And Jean Jacques Rousseau s...
What entity dictates life on the most fundamental level? Is it the government or the people who permit
the government to exist? This is the main point of contention between Baron de Montesquieu s Spirit
of Laws and Jean Jacques Rousseau s On the Social Contract. Interestingly, their interpretation of
different forms of government converge on the sovereignty of a democracy, but that is where most of
their common ground lies. While Rousseau shares similarities on the sovereign authority of a
democracy with Montesquieu, he departs by arguing how regardless of government, sovereignty
always rests in the hands of the people. He also disagrees on how the populace should participate in
the democracy and on their representation in government, making his principles more relevant today.
Baron de Montesquieu sees the people as sovereign exclusively in a democracy and act through
elected bodies or ministers. Since the people have the sole power to enact laws, the rules of suffrage
are vital to a successful democracy. Following closely is the need for a fixed amount of active citizens
in an assembly. As such, the essence of his democracy revolves around the need for love of the laws
and of the country. (Montesquieu Bk. 4 Pt. 5) Likewise, frugality is important because it allows all of
society to share a similar level of enjoyment and advantages that a democracy brings. When the
populace look to frugality, enhanced public services are made available. Consequently, there is a law

Generational Issues in the U.S. Workforce According to the Fort Wayne News Sentinel, the American

the For the First Time, Four Very Different Generations Make Up the U.S. Workforce article by the
Fort Wayne News Sentinel, citing Ginny Carroll, chief executive officer of inGINuity, are Veteran
(born 1900 1942), Baby Boomer (1943 1960), Generation X (1961 1981), and Millennial (1982 2000)
(Quilligan 1). Throughout this paper, I will use the above names to describe the various generations,
though let it be known that some sources state different names for each generation. In an article titled
Employers Need to Bridge Generational Gaps in Work Force, Labor Report Says, Michael Silence of
the Knoxville News Sentinel uses the name Traditionalist for what Kathleen Quilligan of the Fort
Wayne News Sentinel calls the Veteran generation, and calls Millennials Generation Y (Silence 1). It
is also relevant to note that different sources state different age ranges for each generation. For
instance, an article in the American Medical Writers Association Journal (AMWA) states the following
dates for each generation: Veteran (1937 1945), Baby Boomer (1946 1964), Generation X (1965
1984), and Millennial (1985 2005) ( Top 10 Characteristics Of The Four

Essay on Texas s Political Culture
Political Culture
Texas political culture is one that can be described as a combination of three main ideas:
individualistic, traditionalism and moralism. Considering Texas and its overwhelming 254 counties we
can see these main ideas undoubtedly. The 254 counties each have their own general set of ideas,
attitudes and beliefs. The whole state of Texas is simply not just considered individualistic,
traditionalism, or moralism, it is considered all three. Individualistic, traditionalism and moralism are
all strong values that coexist in our society and they all affect how we as the people live our lives. A
political culture shapes a region s politics.

Individualism is the belief of self reliance. Texas is also known for being on its own. Which leads to
its famous saying, you ve got nobody to blame but yourself. They are all about being the self made
man. An individualist prefers privacy, is suspicious of public institutions, and is an independent
contractor. This attitude ties into our low active government. Government is sought out to be at low
cost and out of the way of its voters. Texas government is very limited, and has a legislature that meets
biennially. Due to our isolation, public education is under funded and is at its high in many court
battles and legislative conflicts. The heart of individualism would be laissez faire. In Britannica,
laissez faire is the policy of minimum governmental interference in the economic affairs of individuals
and society. Laissez faire is basically telling government to leave them alone. The whole concept is to
keep minimum government interference in business.
Moralism is all about the community and a commonwealth. They are suspicious of private institutions
and interests. An example would be social security, social welfare programs, and public education
programs. A moralist is all about being equal with people, everyone needs a fair share. Austin Texas
has a lot of business there. They are big or moralism because of its big community.

Although early adoption of two regional offices in late 1997 contributed to seven new customers and

issue is related to challenges along with modified business model. RBS originally devoted their time

Social Anxiety Disorder And Social Disorders
When people hear the word mental disorder most times their minds are turned towards people who are
different or they automatically think of somebody pretending something is wrong. The term social
anxiety is overlooked and seen as just severe shyness. The people that view it this way are heartless
people who view mental health illnesses as diseases that are made up and shouldn t even exist.
However mental illnesses do exist and they should not be overlooked. Similar to diabetes, Social
Anxiety Disorder is a disease that is very significant and plays a huge role in someone s health, but
can often be overlooked. Nonetheless just because something isn t seen doesn t mean that it isn t there.
Social Anxiety Disorder is a mental illnesses and it needs to be recognized that Social Anxiety
Disorder isn t just extreme shyness. According to Thomas A. Richards, the definition of Social
Anxiety disorder is the fear and the anxiety of being negatively judged and evaluated by other people
(Richards). It isn t uncommon for people to feel like they are being judged or evaluated by people.
More often than not people are judging and evaluating people they see every day. Judging by first
impressions happens all day everyday and everyone has done it. Sure enough, everyone has had these
feelings at one point or another and that is why it is often confused with just being extremely shy.
However, Social Anxiety is a chronic disease and unlike shyness it can not just be overcome. This
makes the question arise of what exactly it is that triggers someone to be susceptible to Social Anxiety
Disorder. Well, there are many factors that contribute in triggering Social Anxiety disorder. Some of
which include, the overuse of technology, they way parents raise their children, and also having been
extremely embarrassed at one point or another. According to Joseph Walsh who is an Associate
Professor at the school of Social Work says, Symptoms of the anxiety may begin in childhood (often
before age five) with another risk period just before puberty. The anxious child may demonstrate a
fear of strangers as early as seven months, and behavioral inhibitions may be observed at 21 to 31
months (Walsh). As children are growing and

controlling and jealous. Conflicts surround other departments. Both want to take control when it
comes to making decisions. Since Mars rules the will force, their wills clash. These two truly require
an adjustment as this is a quincunx aspect. Technically Aries dominates and Scorpio manages.

The Three Branches Of Government Essay
The Three Branches of Government In 1787 the leaders of the united states gathered to write the
constitution which they also divided into three branches to ensure a central government in which no
group or individual gains too much control. The three branches consists on the following Legislative,
Executive, and Judicial. Legislative branch rejects or confirms presidential appointments, and also has
the authority to declare war. The power of the Executive branch is to carry out and enforce laws. It
includes the president, the vice president, the cabinet, independent agencies, executive departments,
commissions, committees, and other boards. The last branch that is the Judicial branch interprets the
meaning of laws, decides if laws violate the constitution, and applies laws to individual cases. Article I
of the United States Constitution created and empowered our legislative branch of government. The
legislative branch is made up of the two houses of congress the Senate and the House of
Representatives. As I mention on the introduction the most important duty of the legislative branch is
to make laws. The laws are written, discussed, and voted in the congress.
There are 100 senators in the Senate, two from each state. Senators are elected by their states and

Example Of Civil Disobedience
Doing the right thing is difficult. One is required to make decisions that may not be the popular choice
in the public s eyes. To show what s right, one must take a peaceful stand on an issue against authority
and be willing to face consequences. This is the act of civil disobedience. Civil disobedience is a
tough concept to grasp. People have a hard time doing the right thing when the authority tells us to do
otherwise because they do not want to be reprimanded and have the burden that something bad might
happen to them. An example of civil disobedience would be the midwives. The midwives were
Egyptian, and they saved the little Jewish boys, even though they were told to kill them. The text
states that the midwives feared god , but in fact, they did the right thing. Rambam states that Pharaoh s
policy said, If the latter did not wish to pursue his policy of discrimination openly so, as not to arouse
opposition to the atrocity involved. This applies to the Jewish woman because if we say that the
midwives were Egyptian, another message becomes visible. The Torah states that a person can resist
evil, and they do not have to take orders from superiors. Civil Disobedience is then brought about
because the midwives were not jewish, but they were righteous egyptian women. Being in the wrong
to authority seems worse than not helping people, but if anyone genuinely thinks that, I believe they re
false. Peacefully going against the norm is completely fair. Although, there

Essay on How Stigma and Discrimination Effect Mental Illness
Mental illness is a term which is used when a persons mind is affected in some way by a group of
illnesses (Ministry of Health [MOH], 2012). People with mental health issues have been viewed and
treated in a variety of ways within western society throughout time. Historically if an individual
displayed behaviours which disrupted their function in society and defied social norms they were
viewed as lunatics, insane or even cursed (Cowan, 2008; Elder Evans Nizette, 2009). It is from these
past issues that many people still have unreasonable thoughts about mental illness; their
misconceptions have created unreasonable fears and negative attitudes toward those who experience
it. This negativity brings for many the barriers of not only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The effects of self stigma can lead to a lack of self esteem, lack of confidence, isolation and the
increased likelihood of avoiding professional help for their illness. This then has an over all affect on
quality of life and where one sees themselves fitting within society (Barney, Griffiths, Jorm
Christensen, 2005; Griffiths Christensen, 2004; Newell Gournay, 2000). Legislation in New Zealand
such as The Human Rights Act 1993, section 21 and the Employment Rights Act 1997 are in place to
prohibit the discrimination on the grounds of mental illness in areas such as housing, training,
education and employment. The incidence of stigma and discrimination in these areas is however still
continuing to be an issue for those with a mental illness. It has become apparent through large
amounts of research that most incidences of stigma and discrimination are usually reported through
research studies and surveys (Peterson Barnes Duncan 2008; Newell Gournay, 2000). El Badri
Mellsop (2007) suggest that most research on stigma tends to center on attitudes and beliefs of the
public and how they view those with a mental illness. Much less emphasis on research has involved
the personal experience, self stigma and quality of life of the person with the illness and how they fit
within the community. Badri Mellsop s (2007) study Stigma and quality of life as experienced by

and emancipate slaves. It was located in present day Germantown, Tennessee, a Memphis suburb,

to buy their freedom and then be transported to the independent settlements of Liberia and Haiti.
Wright was strongly influenced by Robert Owen and his utopian community, New Harmony, Indiana.
Surviving for 3 years, Nashoba outlasted New Harmony. Write imagined that if her experimental

ABSTRACT
Internship at National Load Despatch Centre (NLDC), Power System Operation Corporation Ltd can
be divided into two periods. In starting weeks, I get the overview of Indian power sector, understood
the Indian power grid, functions of NLDC and many technical terms but later the project Short Term
Load Forecasting(STLF) using ANN Techniques was assigned to me. I have to forecast the load for
Delhi using ANN Technique.
Load forecasting is the technique for prediction of electrical load. It is much need for a generating
company to know about the market load demand in a deregulated market for generating near to
accurate power. If the generation is not sufficient to fulfill the demand, there would be problem of
irregular supply and in case of excess generation the generating company will have to bear the loss.
There are various factors which influence the behavior of the consumer load. These factors can be
categorized as Time factor, weather, economy and random disturbances. Accurate forecasting can
maximize the profit of producers and for consumers, it can maximize their utilities. STLF plays an
important role in electric power system operation and planning. An accurate load forecasting not only
reduces the generation cost in a power system, but also provides a good principle of effective
operation. It is trained using back propagation algorithm and tested. The results obtained from neural

noticed the symptoms mentioned in the article, it was similar to what I was experiencing so, I dug

In this age of ours, where in the midst of hectic activity, technical turmoil and jet travel the basic passivity of men prevails Rich Like Us, an earnest effort to arouse people to induce them to participate emotionally and ... • 3. Benefits Of Retirement Plan Will Fit Financial Needs Introduction Choosing which retirement plan will fit financial needs is not always the easiest decision to make. While investing in both traditional and Roth individual retirement accounts (IRAs) appears to draw considerable attention, differences in the rules for contributing to and withdrawing from these retirement plans places individuals and married couples in a predicament. They may choose to invest in either a traditional or Roth IRA while they may also choose to invest in self direct, direct contribution (DB) or defined benefit (DB) plans sponsored by employers. In any case, individuals and married couples approaching retirement age should carefully consider their own financial needs before choosing to invest in any retirement ... Other types of earned income include alimony and military differential pay, but does not include interest or dividends from investments, income from rental property and pension payments (para. 3). In terms of contribution limits for individuals and married couples with a Roth IRA, if earned income for one year is less than the contribution limits, they may only contribute up the total earned income amount (para. 4). As of 2014, for individuals and married couples under the age of 50, the annual contribution limit is $5,500. For married couples filing separately, the earned income limit for making contributions to a Roth IRA is $10,000. Otherwise, a married filing separately does not have any eligibility for making contributions to a Roth IRA. Tax Incentives Both traditional and Roth IRAs have generous tax incentives (Spors, para. 3). However, claiming the tax incentives for either a traditional or a Roth IRA depends on timing. With traditional IRAs, contributions made to it based on earned income are tax deductible on both state and federal income tax returns for each year that an individual or married couple contributes (para. 3). Withdrawals made during retirement receive the ordinary income tax rate (para. 3). Roth IRAs, however, do not provide any tax incentives for any contributions made to the account, though earnings and withdrawals are mostly tax free (para. 3). Ever since the development of social networking sites, people are now able to create a carefully crafted identity for themselves. The innovative branch of media psychology looks into how social networking portrays individuals and initiates human interactions within a society. The researchers found a correlation between assessments in four of the five categories. Gosling was not surprised that emotional stability was the only attribute showing no significant results across personal and online assessments because it is a quality that people are good at concealing across most media (Wilson, 2007). Although the extroversion category showed the highest correlation, research suggests that openness to new experience is perhaps exhibited better online than in person. Judith Donath, an associate professor at the Media Laboratory at MIT who reviewed Gosling s research, divides the content of social networking sites into signals and unintended cues. According to Donath, Facebook users do not intend to share super personal information on their profiles. Domestic Violence Against Men By Suzanne Steinmetz The earliest literature reference to domestic violence against men can be found in the studies of Suzanne Steinmetz (1977,1978) entitled, The Battered Husband Syndrome. She hypothesizes that the incidents of husband on wife beatings rivals the incidents of wife perpetrated batterings, and that it was husband abuse not wife abuse that was underreported form of domestic violence. Steinmetz used two United States populations, a broadband nonrepresentative group and a random sample in New Castle, Delaware in the form of police reports and family surveys. The small study found only small differences in the percent of men and women who resorted to violence in the context of pushing, shoving, or hitting with hands or an object. This suggested early on that domestic violence is not a one way street. Husband beating is a serious issue and needs attention due to the fact that it is grossly underreported. Steinmetz received numerous criticism from her colleagues on this concept. In later studies, Murray Straus, Richard Gelles, and Suzanne Steinmetz (1980), authors of the book, Behind Closed Doors: Violence in The American Family, supports Steinmetz s earlier studies in finding that women acted violently during marital affairs compared to a similar number of men who act violently in the United States. In 1984 a Shiite Islamic group that was loyal to Iran s Ayatollah Khomeini had captured and held seven Americans hostage in Lebanon. The President was very much concerned for the Americans well being. An Israeli foreign minister, David Kimche, insisted that since Iran and Iraq were at war with each other, Iran would need more weapons, and because Israel would also gain monetary benefits, they could help with persuasion to release the officials. All the U.S. needed to do was to approve a small shipment of armaments to Iran. Reagan then agreed to this deal, to sell arms to Iran through Israel, which would induce the kidnappers in releasing the hostages. Even though Reagan stated before that America will never make concessions to terrorists, the transferring of arms violated that statement and the Arms Export Control Act since congress was not informed and didn t give consent. • 23. Montesquieu s Spirit Of Laws And Jean Jacques Rousseau s... What entity dictates life on the most fundamental level? Is it the government or the people who permit the government to exist? This is the main point of contention between Baron de Montesquieu s Spirit of Laws and Jean Jacques Rousseau s On the Social Contract. Interestingly, their interpretation of different forms of government converge on the sovereignty of a democracy, but that is where most of their common ground lies. While Rousseau shares similarities on the sovereign authority of a democracy with Montesquieu, he departs by arguing how regardless of government, sovereignty always rests in the hands of the people. He also disagrees on how the populace should participate in the democracy and on their representation in government, making his principles more relevant today. Baron de Montesquieu sees the people as sovereign exclusively in a democracy and act through elected bodies or ministers. Since the people have the sole power to enact laws, the rules of suffrage are vital to a successful democracy. Following closely is the need for a fixed amount of active citizens in an assembly. As such, the essence of his democracy revolves around the need for love of the laws and of the country. (Montesquieu Bk. 4 Pt. 5) Likewise, frugality is important because it allows all of society to share a similar level of enjoyment and advantages that a democracy brings. When the populace look to frugality, enhanced public services are made available. Consequently, there is a law of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Throughout this paper, I will use the above names to describe the various generations, though let it be known that some sources state different names for each generation. In an article titled Employers Need to Bridge Generational Gaps in Work Force, Labor Report Says, Michael Silence of the Knoxville News Sentinel uses the name Traditionalist for what Kathleen Quilligan of the Fort Wayne News Sentinel calls the Veteran generation, and calls Millennials Generation Y (Silence 1). It is also relevant to note that different sources state different age ranges for each generation. For instance, an article in the American Medical Writers Association Journal (AMWA) states the following dates for each generation: Veteran (1937 1945), Baby Boomer (1946 1964), Generation X (1965 1984), and Millennial (1985 2005) ( Top 10 Characteristics Of The Four ... Social Anxiety Disorder And Social Disorders When people hear the word mental disorder most times their minds are turned towards people who are different or they automatically think of somebody pretending something is wrong. The term social anxiety is overlooked and seen as just severe shyness. The people that view it this way are heartless people who view mental health illnesses as diseases that are made up and shouldn t even exist. However mental illnesses do exist and they should not be overlooked. It isn t uncommon for people to feel like they are being judged or evaluated by people. More often than not people are judging and evaluating people they see every day. Judging by first impressions happens all day everyday and everyone has done it. Sure enough, everyone has had these feelings at one point or another and that is why it is often confused with just being extremely shy. However, Social Anxiety is a chronic disease and unlike shyness it can not just be overcome. This makes the question arise of what exactly it is that triggers someone to be susceptible to Social Anxiety Disorder. Well, there are many factors that contribute in triggering Social Anxiety disorder. Some of which include, the overuse of technology, they way parents raise their children, and also having been extremely embarrassed at one point or another. According to Joseph Walsh who is an Associate Professor at the school of Social Work says, Symptoms of the anxiety may begin in childhood (often before age five) with another risk period just before puberty. • 32. Example Of Civil Disobedience Doing the right thing is difficult. One is required to make decisions that may not be the popular choice in the public s eyes. To show what s right, one must take a peaceful stand on an issue against authority and be willing to face consequences. This is the act of civil disobedience. Civil disobedience is a tough concept to grasp. People have a hard time doing the right thing when the authority tells us to do otherwise because they do not want to be reprimanded and have the burden that something bad might happen to them. An example of civil disobedience would be the midwives. The midwives were Egyptian, and they saved the little Jewish boys, even though they were told to kill them. The text states that the midwives feared god , but in fact, they did the right thing. Rambam states that Pharaoh s policy said, If the latter did not wish to pursue his policy of discrimination openly so, as not to arouse opposition to the atrocity involved. This applies to the Jewish woman because if we say that the midwives were Egyptian, another message becomes visible. The Torah states that a person can resist evil, and they do not have to take orders from superiors. Civil Disobedience is then brought about because the midwives were not jewish, but they were righteous egyptian women. Being in the wrong to authority seems worse than not helping people, but if anyone genuinely thinks that, I believe they re false. Peacefully going against the norm is completely fair. Essay on How Stigma and Discrimination Effect Mental Illness Mental illness is a term which is used when a persons mind is affected in some way by a group of illnesses (Ministry of Health [MOH], 2012). People with mental health issues have been viewed and treated in a variety of ways within western society throughout time. Historically if an individual displayed behaviours which disrupted their function in society and defied social norms they were viewed as lunatics, insane or even cursed (Cowan, 2008; Elder Evans Nizette, 2009). Legislation in New Zealand such as The Human Rights Act 1993, section 21 and the Employment Rights Act 1997 are in place to prohibit the discrimination on the grounds of mental illness in areas such as housing, training, education and employment. The incidence of stigma and discrimination in these areas is however still continuing to be an issue for those with a mental illness. It has become apparent through large amounts of research that most incidences of stigma and discrimination are usually reported through research studies and surveys (Peterson Barnes Duncan 2008; Newell Gournay, 2000). El Badri Mellsop (2007) suggest that most research on stigma tends to center on attitudes and beliefs of the public and how they view those with a mental illness.
