Making a good movie is easy but making a great movie is hard. As I watched a short clip from the
movie The Bride of Frankenstein I watched how the acting, plot, lighting, camera work, and script all
made this film come to life. This movie was made in 1935 yet it is still so compelling to watch
because it is successful with the important components of a movie. The first thing I noticed about the
short clip was the lighting. As a photographer lighting is the most important thing about pictures and
films. I realized that the whole movie was very dark for the most part. As I watched the short clip I
saw harsh shadows on the background or on their faces which gave a mysterious feeling. As a viewer
it came off creepy, and kept thinking was something about to pop out? The lighting was great when
Pretorius says to Dr. Frankenstein You are responsible for all the murders, there is a dark shadow on
Dr. Frankenstein. As for Pretorius it seems like he has a halo of light around him. I have a feeling that
the lightening in this conversation was intentional. Dr. Frankenstein is looked down, dark, and evil
because he murdered people. While in this same conversation it seems like Pretorius is the good guy
in this situation even though they both do not seem very good. All in all, the lighting was very
intentional. If they put soft/ airy lighting in this film, I do not think the message would come across

The biggest aspect of foreshadowing used in this movie is the fact that Malcolm only interacts with
Cole during the entire movie after his death. This is something that is hard to notice on the first time
you watch this film. This aspect gives the film high replay value. When Malcolm is sitting in the
living room with Cole s mother the viewer assumes that they are both talking when Cole arrives home

could not support her two children after Liesel s father was accused of being a communist . They stop
at a graveyard where a young gravedigger buries Werner as his family sobs over him. After this, the
narrator describes Liesel seeing the dropped book The Grave Diggers Manual , and tucking it into her

Advertisements are a vital part of any company s marketing strategy, and are used to inform or
persuade an audience about a certain product or service. In fact, North American companies are
among the world s highest advertisers (Boone et al., 2010, 502). Today, an average consumer is

Marketers should make responsible decisions, and not just focus on generating profits, because it is
legal. Ads should address audiences not just as consumers who care about material interests but as
citizens who care about social virtues and the public good (Hove, 2009, 35). The idea of advertising
alcoholic beverages is unethical. While there are mild restrictions in Canada regarding alcohol
promotions, there is a demand for more. Some provinces run ads that promote responsible drinking, or
the dangers of drinking and driving in an attempt to shed light on alcohol abuse (Boone, 2010, 525).
However, these attempts do not cancel out the multitude of beer and liquor advertisements in today s
media. Some alcohol advertisements include the ideology that drinking a certain brand of beer will
influence their social class, or improve their quality of life in some way. This is extremely
controversial. An article from the South African Journal of Psychology notes, there are no laws against
[alcohol] advertisements; however, responsible corporate and professional action, would prevent the
use of these advertisements from a social and moral standpoint (Dubihela amp; Dubihela, 2011, 209).
Clearly, an ethical dilemma is present. The Canadian Radio television and Telecommunications

Capsaicin was analyzed in three peppers that were expected to differ greatly in their capsaicin content
and thus their relative spiciness. The idea was to have a nice range of capsaicin concentrations to
clearly reflect the subjective pain one experiences from biting into a chili. Fresh Habanero, Jalapeno
and Red Bell Pepper were purchased from the local Family Fresh grocery store to be analyzed via
HPLC. This capsaicin project consisted of three stages to ensure proper and accurate analysis. The

run time was eight minutes. Solvent A consisted of 100% water with 0.1% TFA. Solvent B was a 80%
ACN/20% water solution with 0.1% TFA. A gradient elution was programmed for 20% to 100%
solvent B in five minutes then return to 20% solvent B for the last three minutes. The last stage of the
project was the actual sample analysis. The HPLC was programmed to run a reinjection of the
calibration standard, a reinjection of the blank, then two injections of each sample A, B and C

market. Using a difference in differences (DID) model, this study focuses on the co evolution of
