Voting Rights Act Of 1965
States have utilized their discretion over the time, place, and manner to alienate large segments of the
voting population in the pass. From the Jim Crow era literacy tests and poll taxes, to modern day voter
ID laws, representatives have attempted to disenfranchise voters at every turn. Thought the Voting
Rights Act of 1965 would have ideally rid America of these obstacles by this point, vestiges of the
manipulation remain. The passage of years has brought a large degree of uniformity to election laws.
For example, all states except Louisiana permit election by plurality in general elections. But several
key distinctions prevail, and the desire for federalism here has created issues with suffrage. Voter ID
laws are perhaps the most visible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now, congressional districts follow no reasonable pattern or logic; districts within states vary
drastically in terms of size, shape, and similarity of socio economic diversity. Parties controlling state
legislatures have the most say in the mapping of Congressional districts, and consequently try to draw
districts up in ways that insulate incumbents. They draw district lines to maximize the number of seats
they can win, usually by concentrating opposition voters into the same districts. This leads to a
guaranteed loss in those districts, but allows the ruling party to win the vast majority of other districts
by tight, but secure margins. The wider the margin of victory at the national level, the more dangerous
gerrymandering becomes to Congressional districts. This was true of the elections of 1974 (Democrats
picked up 49 House seats and 4 in the Senate in the wake of Watergate), 1994 (When Republicans
gained 54 House and 10 Senate seats during the Gingrich Revolution ), and 2006 (When Democrats
won 31 House and six Senate seats). For example, in 2010, Republicans scored a sweeping victory in
the House. They ended up controlling redistricting procedures for eighteen states, compared to
Democrats six. Republicans then exploited this opportunity to shore up some of their marginal
districts by adding in favorable voters to weakening districts. The effects shine clearly: in 2012, only

The Myth Of The Divine Comedy
The traditional myths stories of legends, undying divine beings, and horrific creatures have been the
wellsprings of numerous books, films, plays, and art. Today hordes of books, both scholarly and
standard, examine the myths their histories, conceivable sources, and impacts on a portion of the best
writers ever, including Dante Alighieri. This writer composed one of the best works ever. Each part of
The Divine Comedy has been dissected, from the reasons, to the plots, to the statement decisions, to
the philosophical and religious implications. His utilization of established mythology has been
inventoried and talked about, but most researchers have disregarded the suggestions coming about
because of the stimulating irony of the way that this sincere religious man utilized agnostic myths
pervasively all through his clearly Christian works. Despite the fact that established mythology in
Christian works has been talked about and broke down by numerous researchers, the oddity between
the agnostic and the Christian has not been sufficiently investigated. Most usually, investigation of the
myths inside The Divine Comedy either concentrates on the imaginative qualities the myths add to the
lyrics, homes in on the ramifications of maybe a couple particular myths, or talks about the impacts of
the established artists themselves. However to completely esteem and perceive what Dante did in his
lyric, we should not just comprehend the social responses to the myths and the individuals

Population Explosion
POPULATION EXPLOSION
INTRODUCTION:
Population explosion is condition where an organisms numbers exceeds carrying capacity of its
habitat. It is a curse and is damaging to the development of the country and its society. The developing
countries already facing lack in their resourses, and with the rapidly increasing population, the
resourses available per person ,further leading to increased poverty, malnutrition and other large
population related problems.
The literal meaning of population is the whole number of people or inhabitants in a country or region
and the literal meaning of population explosion is a pyramiding of numbers of a biological population

This cycle in fact might be considered as a positive feedback, in that the increase in one results in the
increase of the other factor. As the poverty and the population both increase, the development of the
country and the society seems even more far fetched.

b) RELIGIOUS BELIEF AND TRADITION:
A lot of families prefer having a son rather than a daughter. As a result, a lot of families have more
children than they actually want or can afford, resulting in increased poverty, lack of resources, and
most importantly, an increased population.
Another one of India s cultural norms is for a girl to get married at an early age. In most of the rural
areas and in some urban areas as well, families prefer to get their girls married at the age of 14 or 15.
Although child marriage is illegal in India, the culture and the society surrounding the girls in India
does not allow them to oppose such decisions taken by their family. Since these girls get married at a
very early age, they do not have the opportunity to get educated. Therefore, they remain uneducated
and teach the same norms to their own children, and the tradition goes on from one generation to the
other.
2.DEATH RATE:
Although poverty has increased and the development of the country continues to be hampered, the
improvements in medical facilities have been tremendous. This improvement might be considered
positive, but as far as population increase is considered, it has only been

Crime Statistics Comparison
Comparison of Crime Statistics
Crime statistics endeavour to provide statistical measures of crime in societies. They provide a point
of analysis and comparison, allow countries to form long term patterns and trends and can help to
develop and reform criminal justice policies as well as being more meaningful than raw numbers.
Using the countries of Bahrain and the United States as a comparison point for the following issues
which surround crime statistics such as biases, agendas and general influences like education and
religion; this essay will be focused around analysing the statistical factors and wider influences which
can allow a country to have low or high crime rates.

Wider Influences:
Bahrain is a country which operates on all levels in relation to the teachings of the Qur an. This makes
up the fabric of life for the Bahraini people, the influence of the Islamic religion can be seen in the
economic, political and social pathways of life within the culture of the country. In Bahrain, religion is
the most important structure. The Islamic religion opposes wrongdoing in all its forms and that any
wrongdoing can lead to the downfall of society. The teachings of the Prophet attempt to get rid of all
forms of crime before it happens by influencing the individuals who follow the religion. Acts against
the law therefore is not only a crime against society in the eyes of Bahraini people it is also a violation
of the principles of God. In Bahrain there are even moral police officers who regulate the dress and
public behaviour of citizens (Helal, 1991). As the Qur an provides the basis for society, it also
provides the base for which laws are made. All laws however have major influence from the Western
cultures, apart from marriage, divorce and succession which all fall under the Shari ah. (Souryal,
1988)Therefore religion is a major influence

The Treaty Of Waitangi Or Te Tiriti O Waitangi
My brief look into the history of The Treaty of Waitangi or Te Tiriti o Waitangi, how, why and when it
was created. The preambles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi what its purposes were and the Articles within Te
Tiriti o Waitangi and how they were interpreted which led to considerable confusion. How a small
business like Kai Ora Honey has become successful and how it can relate back to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
to make a link to one of the Articles. Finally finishing with my thoughts on Te Tiriti o Waitangi from
what I know and what I think as a modern day Maori and a Pakeha and wht Te Tiriti o Waitangi means
to me.
Te Tiriti o Waitangi or The Treaty of Waitangi is the founding document of New Zealand. It is a
document that both Maori iwi, tribes, sub tribes and the Crown (British Monarchy Queen Victoria)
representatives made agreements upon. Te Tiriti o Waitangi was named after the place where Te Tiriti
o Waitangi was first signed which was Waitangi in the Bay of Islands, on the 6th of February
1840.This day is remembered and celebrated as a national holiday. It was signed by about 540 chiefs.
Te Tiriti o Waitangi was not a written law passed by a legislative body. It was a broad statement for
British officials and Maori chiefs to make a political agreement upon to start the process of building a
government in New Zealand. (Heritage, 2016) It was essentially an exchange of agreements to help
deal with new circumstances British and Maori were dealing with. The English version says the

* Geog factors led to Glasgow s importance
* Decline in ship building etch, moved due to cheap labour elsewhere
* Slum conditions
* Comprehensive redevelopment? Uphill 1970s what problems with it
* Renovate
* Regeneration
There are several geological factors, which led to Glasgow s importance. Firstly, there were many
nearby coal and iron fields. These are the two essential ingredients required to produce steel, making
Glasgow an ideal place for industry. On top of this, there is a very deep, large river (R. Clyde) running
right into the heart of Glasgow and out the other side. This provoked heavy ship industry in the ...

This included Air, land and water polluting, derelict warehouses and churches, high levels of graffiti,
and also a large amount of traffic congestion. Some houses were in such a poor state, that they fell
down with people living in them, resulting in a number of tragic deaths.
The city had rapidly fallen into a state of inner city decay.
The first step taken by the Councils was to carry out Comprehensive Redevelopment. This means
demolishing and rebuilding slums. Many slums were removed from areas such as Gorbals, and roads
new roads were also built to improve transport links. To re house all of the people made homeless
from the demolishing of the slums, many cheap tower blocks were erected for people to live in.
However these came with their own set of new problems.
They were put up very rapidly, and so they were very badly built. They soon became damp, and walls
started to crumble, and furniture became ruined, and people ill. In extreme cases, the walls had
completely disintegrated. Families were also split up, or fragmented as a result of the relocations. The
tower blocks were also ugly, and it caused people, especially children to become housebound, as it
was very impractical for youngsters to go down to the bottom of a tower block on their own to play.
The tower blocks also brought with them crime, as they are extremely hard to police.

The Religion And Its Origins
This chapter was exactly like Vavova s chapter as it was defending morals from debunkers. The author
merely formed a defense for keeping his religious beliefs.
The author had four parts of his argument. He introduces the arguments and claims that he can defend
religion. In the introduction, the author puts out a hypothetical situation where a person, Fred, believes
in evolution and God. Fred can see that evolution does not include whether not God is involved. The
author claims that this is similar to a debunking argument, but he can defend a religious belief. The
author then goes over the structure of his argument and requests patience from the reader on the
matter.
In the second part of his argument, the author explains religion and its origins. According to
psychologists, folk theories are universal processes of human thought and we have found a lot of
them. However the fact that we have folk theories does not explain why we have them. Debunking
does not argue about whether cognitive evolution is true, it argues around the implications if it were
true. Belief forming processes must be truth tracking. However, does that meant that evolution forces
us into skepticism? The author doesn t believe so, because of the possibility of a Milvian Bridge.
Natural selection would help if it selected for the truth. Targets of beliefs should be causes of beliefs,
making them remote and proximate. This is his detailed account of a Milvian Bridge. The author then
goes on to define reason

The Ethical Theory Of Ethics
What is the right thing to do when you re faced with corruption in the work place? Should you simply
condone the behavior, participate in it, or remove yourself from the situation? Is there more at stake
here than just your own interests and prosperity? This essay will look at a case study involving
corruption in a local county government. In this case, Jenny must decide whether or not to expose the
rampant corruption prevalent in her workplace. Should Jenny turn a blind eye thereby avoiding any
negative consequences, or should she expose these actions and possibly compromise her career
aspirations? In considering her case, I believe the best choice Jenny should make involves her
exposing the corruption. I will argue for this position through the utilitarian theory of ethics. Before I
argue for what Jenny should do, we should first look at the options available to her. Jenny could
choose to ignore the obvious theft and misuse of public funds and property. Additionally, she could
accept the nepotism displayed by the rest of her coworkers. The immediate benefit to her would be in
maintaining the status quo. Jenny would continue to work here until such time as she would be able to
move onto another government work place. But choosing this option would mean she would be
indirectly approving of the behavior we know has made her uncomfortable. Besides the guilt she
would experience, Jenny would also be subject to possible prosecution once the corruption was
discovered. For

Machiavelli s The Prince Analysis
Machiavelli s work The Prince is, evidently, a bit dated, but the concepts that it expresses have
remained significant to present day society, even when monarchies are no longer the primary form of
government. The Prince is substantially relevant to contemporary society in today s age because of its
relation to events such as North Korea, World War II, and more. First of all, Machiavelli illustrates on
p. 16 how important it is to create a foundation for a civilization: He who has not first laid his
foundations may be able . . . to lay them afterwards, but they will be laid with trouble to the architect
and danger to the building. This quote is relevant to history when considering the Constitution. The
Constitution served, and still serves, as the foundation of the United States. It establishes the country s

The country s government and leader strive to be feared rather than loved, as Machiavelli argues on
page 43. North Korea chooses its leader based on a family line rather than merit, and its leader
constantly uses torture and brainwashing to gain its citizens respect. Additionally, Adolf Hitler and
Nazi Germany exemplify various strategies mentioned in the text. Machiavelli states on page __, Fear
is sustained by dread of punishment which will never abandon you. Hitler utilized concentration
camps to induce fear in his enemies and even the whole world. Dread of Hitler s punishment methods
successfully caused so many to fear him. One of Machiavelli s points that can be relevant in so many
situation is, Every one sees what you appear to be, few really know what you are. (Machiavelli p. 47).
This quote correlates to the political campaigns that government officials use prior to elections.
Political campaigns often aim to persuade the public without providing factual information. Two
opponents fabricate details about each other that may not be

Instead of fighting with china, Dalai Lama wanted peace and nonviolence ways to negotiate the
problem. And this way of leadership was very effective to achieve peace. The news started to spread
like fire and helped them to turn Tibet into a peace zone. When a leader makes miracles or the
impossible possible then there is no reason why people won t follow him or sometimes even blindly.
After this he received many peace awards and wrote many books but he could never go back to his
country. And people loved him and his followers increased rapidly, he spread his philosophy of people
wanting happiness. Many leaders around the world say that it s his presence that they enjoy the most
like a charismatic leader. And when become famous they tend to get carried away ,so Dalai Lama is
very conscious about that and one of the Buddhist practices to be aware of one s self. These kind of
things are common in monk s life but being loved by all means there is something more to this leader.
The basic fact remain that being down to earth and also being cheerful like a child at the age of 70.

Argumentative Analysis
Video games impact the brain in a wide variety of ways. Some people could, and have, made the
argument that video games are destructive for children and that they become a distraction from actual
educational work (Bavelier, Green, Han, Renshaw, Merzenich, Gentile, 2011). On the other hand, one
could certainly argue that video games could be a valuable tool in the learning environment (Bavelier,
Green, Han, Renshaw, Merzenich, Gentile, 2011). At any rate, there are several different, and accurate
views on the subject.
The initial argument I mentioned about video games is probably the one you hear about most often.
How many times have you heard a set of parents say that their child is rotting away in front of a video
game. Well, there is actually some truth to that. Children who show addictive behavior in regards to
video games have also shown symptoms that are typical in addicts of other sorts (Bavelier, Green,
Han, Renshaw, Merzenich, Gentile, 2011). Some domains that are affected by this type of behavior
include behavioral, social, academic, occupational, and developmental (Bavelier, Green, ... Show

There are also many studies that show how video games increase peripheral perception, processing
speed, and memory (Bavelier, Green, Han, Renshaw, Merzenich, Gentile, 2011). Also, depending on
the type of video game a particular person is playing, it can be used as an effective training
scenario(Bavelier, Green, Han, Renshaw, Merzenich, Gentile, 2011). The idea here is that video games
can be used as a productive tool for people of all ages, professions, and lifestyles, if they are utilized
correctly (Bavelier, Green, Han, Renshaw, Merzenich, Gentile, 2011). An issue that may come up is
trying to find the happy area in the middle of the people who don t use games at all and the ones that
are using them excessively and becoming

Application And Application Of Input Controls
Introduction Most firms try their best to protect the data entry process in their companies. As a result,
the current computing platforms come with a variety of applications. Some applications come with
forms, which expect a user to fill in particular details. To use them, consumers require various
interactive components to help them maneuver a page and operate applications. Besides, most website
pages will incorporate input controls into their forms to help consumers utilize applications
conveniently. The user interfaces will ensure that data entered is secure, safe, complete, and accurate.
In this context, users can enter data online or through automated processing platforms. According to

Essentially, the focus should be on elements that promote the control of data accuracy and quality for
the sake of protecting users entering details on the pages. Without user controls, it is likely that the
implementation of data integrity while filling out forms would be impossible. In addition, they help in
the evaluation of data saved in databases, as they ensure that all elements are presented in the same
format. Presentation of data in a similar format makes it simpler to assess and ensure that data
compiled is homogenous in nature. Finally, the validation rules and check routines utilized in input
control functions ensure that data entered in a system is correct and meaningful (Perspective Pixel

a rich quality to the organization in need of the data values entered.
Types and Functions of Input Controls The type of input control utilized is dependent on its function
on a page. Additionally, organizations employ particular user controls with the aim of limiting data
types; hence, facilitate easier manipulation of sent data. In the event that multiple type set of questions
is required for purposes of more accessible analyzes, there is the introduction of different types of

The Gulf Of Mexico Dead Zone
The main problem this paper intends to discuss regards the Gulf of Mexico dead zone. This dead zone,
which for the most part encompasses the water off the coast of Louisiana, becomes depleted in
dissolved oxygen. The dead zone is an outcome of nutrient runoff into the Gulf from urban areas,
wastewater treatment plants, and from atmospheric deposition, however, the majority comes from
fertilizers used in agriculture around the Mississippi River Basin. The increase in nutrients has been
affecting the Gulf of Mexico ecosystem by forming difficult conditions in which organisms live.
Another consequence that is directly related to the ecosystem damage is the effect on the fishing
economy in in the region. In the paper I will address the questions, how has the dead zone specifically
caused damage to the ecosystem of the Gulf of Mexico and how has that damage affected the
economic productivity of the fisheries? Furthermore, what policy solutions exist to solve the dead
zone problem? Dead zones develop due to excess nutrients getting into water causing eutrophication,
which means over enrichment. River runoff deposits these nutrients, which come from upstream, a
large amount from agriculture of the Midwest. Nitrogen and phosphorus, the primary excess nutrients,
are limiting nutrients to primary producers, such as phytoplankton, that live in the surface oceans.
Since those elements are limiting nutrients, an elevated influx of them will cause an explosion of
productivity called an

I. Who owns the copyright in a photograph once it is taken?
In general, the person behind the camera who takes the photograph owns the photo. An exception is
when the image falls into the work made for hire category. A work made for hire relationship is
created in two situations: (1) the photographer is an employee hired to take photographs for the
employee, or (2) the photographer is hired to provide photographs for collective works or
compilations and signs a written agreement that specifically states that the work is to be considered a
work made for hire. Therefore, freelance photographers are subjected to work for hire status only
when they agree to it by contract.

Teen Activists Are Good Role Models Essay
Do you know what wanting something really means? It is not just wanting a toy, or the food you want
for dinner. It is something bigger than that. Teen activists are kids and teens who want very badly for
the world s problems to go away. To be a teen activist, you have to be many things, but most of all,
you have to be a really great role model. You have to be brave, courageous, and most of all,
determined. One of the reasons that teen activists are good role models is that they are brave. For
example, according to scholastic, When Iqbal Masih was just 4 years old, his parents sold him into
slavery to pay off a $12 debt. After six years of working as a slave, he ran away from his owner , and
spoke out against child labor. Iqbal s words were so strong and he was so brave that he was killed

The final reason teen activists are good role models is that they are very courageous. For example, in
2002, when Alex Lin was only nine years old, he noticed that there was a lot of pollution outside of
his house, so he wanted to put a stop to it. The pollution, he noticed, was because of electronic waste.
All electronics have a heavy metal in them that can damage the outside world if they are burned. A
few months/years after that happened, Alex formed a group to collect electronics and recycle them so
they would not cause even more pollution. He was courageous, though, when him and his group
(W.I.N) made a petition and went to get it signed. He succeeded, now he just needed to get the law to

watching the Cosby Show. The perfect family show about the perfect family. A far cry from my own
reality, it created a bond for my family. For that short span of time, we laughed together, daily
dysfunction forgotten if only for that half hour. Recently, this fond memory has been tarnished by the
corrosive sexual assault allegations. When I first heard about the scandal, I felt shame in wanting to
hold on to my good times with the Huxtables. In light of current knowledge, does that mean I give up
all that Bill Cosby once meant to me? The same quandary came up as the reviews began to pour in
about Harper Lee s newly released novel, Go Set A Watchman, and the revelations of a not so perfect
Atticus arose. First Cosby and now Atticus my world was crumbling. ... Show more content on

But while Cosby is a real person who has done real harm to real people, Atticus is a fictional
character; still, he has touch the lives of millions of people. So, how should schools deal with Atticus?
Or is the question: what is there really to deal with?
Because of the chronology of the story Watchman is set 20 years in after the events in Mockingbird
one assumes this is the person Atticus becomes, a bitter racist. But wait. Back up. In actuality, in the
chronology of the author, this new hated Atticus came first and gratefully evolved into the character
we all know and love.
The reality is, Mr. Bill Cosby and Dr. Cliff Huxtable are two different individuals (putting aside the
fact that one is fictional and one is not); likewise, Atticus from Mockingbird and Atticus from
Watchman are two different individuals, whose paths were never meant to

Barriers to Economic Development in Ghana
Economic development has to occur after a period of sustained economic growth. It is therefore the
growth in total economic output accompanied by changes in the structure of the economy.
There are many barriers to economic development in Ghana. Eight of them are discussed below:
First and foremost, Ghana like most developing countries is enriched with natural resources or
deposits but the human capital is not able to transform them to achieve rapid economic growth and
development. For economic development to take off in any country, the human resource of the country
should be in a position to harness the country s endowed natural resources to fuel this economic
development process. The skills and requisite know how that the human capital ... Show more content

Moreover, people who are in government and for that matter have access to huge sums of money
usually do their savings outside the country because of fear. This is what is termed capital flight. Many
government officials find it convenient to have their savings accounts outside the country in order not
to stand the chance of losing everything should any political instability occurs. Many expatriates who
work in the country also remit their earnings back into their countries of origin instead of saving at
least part of it here for the business community to get access to capital so that they can expand their
businesses to enhance growth. Also, lack of technological advancement is a barrier to economic
growth and development in Ghana. Many countries that are experiencing rapid economic growth are
technologically inclined. For instance, South Korea, China, Malaysia and Singapore are developing
rapidly due to their advancement in technology. Ghana as a country still relies on traditional methods
of doing things, example, using cutlasses and hoes in farming instead of tractors, ploughs and
combined harvesters. All these traditional ways of doing things retard economic development.
Industrialization which is the backbone of any rapid economic growth is not pursued much in the
country mostly because Ghana lacks the required technology to support it. It is the industrial sector
that will increase certain macro economic indicators like employment

Ba1b Reflective Journal
BA1b Reflective Journal Reflective Journal
Within this reflective journal I intend to analyse my work within the unit BA1b. I started this unit
inspired to improve as much as possible.
The first task was to create a sequential film. The idea of this incredibly daunting as I had next to no
experience with filming or editing. After practicing with the filming and editing using cameras and
Adobe Premier in an induction , I still didn t feel very confident. This is where I got the idea for stop
motion from. I made good use of primary and secondary research by experimenting with stop motion,
observational drawing, historical information and taking photographs. This helped me really
understand the subject I was focusing on. Along side making this film we had lectures and workshops
on various subjects such as colour, the use of colour became such a strong element in my work

telling the story in a more abstract way, which is a change from how I usually work. It was interesting
to start experimenting with different media outside of workshops.
The second project allowed me to create a publication which was something I as incredibly exited to
do. My book was based on the timeline of a currently abandoned house. I feel I worked effectively in
this project but set too much work for myself as each of the illustrations were incredibly time
consuming. I have noticed throughout these projects it takes me a while to get stuck in as I m very
slow with ideas development, I usually think of more effective ideas when I am half way

Conformity And Rebellion In The Lottery By Shirley Jackson
In her short story, The Lottery, Shirley Jackson uses conformity and rebellion to convey the main
theme, which is that blindly following tradition can have negative consequences. The village members
show this through their actions while carrying out this lottery that they have done for generations. One
character, Tessie, is the outlier who is a rebellion compared to the other villagers. Her character s
actions contrast the other villagers, and make what they are doing seem much more irrational. It also
shows how the majority refuses to hear what one who deviates from the norm has to say. This allows
them to remain in a bubble and continue to live out the same customs year after year.
The villagers conform to these traditions for the sole reason that it s been done for so many years
before them. Long enough that they do not even remember certain aspects of it, like the tuneless chant
and the ritual salute . Characters like Old Man Warner are symbolic of the older generation that clings
without question to practices that may not continue to be beneficial for the community. The black box
from which the slips of paper are drawn represents the villagers inability to change. The box is very
old and in bad shape, but when it is suggested that the people make a new box, the subject is allowed
to fade off without anything s being done. Further emphasizing the long history of both the box and
the ritual, the narrator notes: There was a story that the present box had been made with some pieces
of the box that had preceded it, the one that had been constructed when the first people settled down to
make a village here. Old Man Warner, the oldest man in the village, also represents the theme of
tradition. When Mr. and Mrs. Adams suggest to Warner that some other villages have already given up
the lottery or are thinking about doing so, he replies with, Next thing you know, they ll be wanting to
go back to living in caves . There s always been a lottery. So the other villages who are straying from
tradition are dismissed right away and are seen as barbaric for not following the rules.
The children are so conditioned to the normalcy of the tradition, that they are able to continue their
games

Apart from holding a stable market position, data from Mintel demonstrates that John Lewis s market

consecutive years:
As the diagram shows, John Lewis s share in the retail market was constantly increasing from 2005 to

Persuasive Essay About Ufos
The ongoing wonder on whether or not extraterrestrial life exists is not going to go away after this
news. UFO researchers unveiled yet another NASA image of the sun that they claim is a spacecraft.
However, NASA, who usually never comments on this kind if stuff, talked a little bit about the
supposedly new discovery.
YET ANOTHER SUPPOSED UFO SPOTTED
NASA has the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory satellite that is constantly monitoring the sun. This
satellite is orbiting the sun 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with absolutely no interruptions. The
researchers showed the newest image that the satellite took, and there certainly looked like there was
something around it. However, considering how hot the sun is, that seems very unlikely. However, that

In one story there was a reported UFO that was the size of the moon. As a matter of fact, there was
two such instances that were reported. Another researcher claimed that they saw around one thousand
rockets near the sun. This is an ongoing claim that will seemingly never stop.
WHAT NASA IS SAYING ABOUT THIS
NASA usually does not like talking about UFO sightings, but they did talk a little about this latest
claim. However, NASA is not quite sold on the fact that these are indeed UFO sightings. The members
of NASA state that images like this are most likely hot spots. Hot spots make it look like something is
there, but in actuality it is just emanating extreme brightness. NASA also stated how in the past they
have been accused of covering up UFO sightings, and that people won t accept their explanations.
WILL NASA LOOK INTO THIS MORE?
The more times that this comes up, the more interested NASA is going to become. It seems fairly clear
that NASA does not believe these are alien spacecrafts. However, eventually they might have to take a
further look just to make sure they are

Rome s Construction Of The Amphitheater
Amphitheater. Rome s construction of the amphitheater, began in the Second century AD (Figure 3;
Matova and Aliaj, 2006:280; Ponce de Leon, 2013:3; UNESCO, 2004:34. The arena and Roman baths
built during this period were centrally located within the city (Bowes and Mitchell, 2009:571; Bowes
et al., 2003:382; Karaiskaj, 2004:13; UNESCO, 2004:34). Local topography played a part in deciding
where the stadium would be built. Roman engineers made use of a hillside on the northern part of the
arena, whereas the southern half of the auditorium was on lower ground. Roman vaults and piers held
up this section of the amphitheater (Bowes and Mitchell, 2009:571; Bowes et al., 2003:382; Matova

It is believed that this amphitheater was able to hold 15,000 20,000 spectators, indicating Dyrrachium

2014:31; Ponce de Leon, 2013:3; Puka and Beshiri, 2011:6; UNESCO, 2004:34)
After Rome s decline in 378 AD (Wilkes, 1992:265), parts of the amphitheater were restructured and
used as chapels. The main sanctuary was built into the alcove, which originally housed the pulvinar
(elevated imperial box) and vomitorium. Byzantine mosaics and frescos indicate that these chapels
were created during the fifth century AD (Bowes and Mitchell, 2009:574 575; Isufi, 2006:11; Jacques,
1995:154; Karaiskaj, 2004:13; UNESCO, 2004:35 37). A second chapel and possible third were built
on the north side of the stadium (Bowes and Mitchell, 2009:574; Bowes et al., 2003:392). Sometime
during the seventh century, the arena began to be used as a graveyard, known as the necropolis. There
are also several Byzantine art forms, dating from the ninth through eleventh centuries (Bowes and
Mitchell, 2009:581; Bowes et al., 2003:391 392; Jacques, 1995:154 155; UNESCO, 2004:36 37). At
some point during the Middle Ages, the cemetery ceased to be used by the inhabitants of Dyrrachium
(Bowes and Mitchell, 2009:574; Bowes et al., 2003:388 389).

Different Ideological Perspectives Based On Those Who...
Those in politics have different ideological perspectives based on those who support that particular
party. In regards to the leading Republican Candidate, it is evident that they are supported by those
who strongly support the military. Hence, this candidate proposes to increase military spending. If
there is an increase in military spending, the government spending for other social institutions
(education, health care, and food/agriculture) would decrease. By looking at this situation through the
Functionalist perspective, one can identify various manifest/latent functions/dysfunctions. The
manifest function or intending effect of this change was to allow for our military to expand and cause
an increase in enrollment. A larger military would result in better protection for not only our country
but other countries that we have alliances with. In addition, the increase in size would cause an
increased fear/respect of the American military around the world. The latent function or unintended
effect of this change would be an arms race among adversarial countries. It is possible that this arms
race could ultimately lead to war. Economically, there will be an increase in profits for the defense
industries. The manifest dysfunction or anticipated disruption would be the decrease in government
spending for other social institutions. This decrease can cause several latent or unintended
dysfunctions. By cutting spending in areas like education, government funded programs in

The Single Industry System
The failure of the once famous single industry city, Detroit, is attributed to the weakness of the single
industry system as depicted in the documentary, Detropia. The government in Detroit relied on the
automobile industry so much that the entire city was working around this industry. However, the car
industry was facing a huge crisis which ruined the whole city because of the competition with other
car industries in Asia as well as Europe. Now the economic system in Alberta, especially in Calgary, is
just like the economy in Detroit which strongly relies on one special industry. So would the history

Stefanick Lorna claims in her book, Alberta Oil and The Decline of Democracy in Canada, the
dependence of the provincial economy on oil revenues leads to the distorted relationship between
government and the oil industry. In her book, Lorna mentioned that the policy, as well as the media,
would provide benefits to these kinds of industries because the government relies on the tax from the
oil industry to provide the financial support to their daily activities such as public services and the
financial support to encourage the technological innovation. What s more, the government advertises
for pillar industry which could attract the workforce from other provinces and reduce the
unemployment rate in the province. In this situation, the government might provide advertisements or
establish policies, such as cheaper housing price or free medical care for oil workers, to attract labor
forces and encourage the development of oil industry, which might be unfair to other industries. This
statement from Lorna strongly proves that the single industry system is harmful to developing a stable
and comfortable society. In addition, the book, Collaboration dynamics in mega projects in the
Canadian oil sands industry, by Abbink shows that the mega projects in the oil industry are notorious
for their cost overruns and schedule slippages. Although the author suggests that the oil industry could
co operate with other factories to reduce the risk and increase the revenue, he claims that the oil
industry in Alberta, especially the sand oil project, works inefficiently and wastes a lot of resources
which is a typical example of diseconomies of scale because of the heavy industry and structure. The
definition of diseconomies of scale is a firm which may become less efficient if it becomes too large (

The Main Provisions Of The 1944 Education Act And 1988...
The 20th century saw more changes to education than the thousand years preceding it. This was
largely in response to a recently industrialised country; with newly acquired voting rights, it became
apparent that education should not be only for elites. Education is a crucial element of social mobility
and it is important we fully understand both the positive and negative aspects of previous legislation to
help us plan for the future. The were two major 20th century pieces of legislation: 1944 Education Act
and 1988 Education Reform Act. Both brought with them changes that are still being felt today. This
essay will cover those Acts in detail, along with other sizable changes such as comprehensivisation,

The ramifications of Butler s failure to separate church and schooling and further pandering by all
subsequent ministers can still be witnessed today. The church s influence on teaching on subjects
evolution has forced the requirement of a law to ban creationism being taught (BHA, 2014). It has also
come to light that many faith schools teach a very narrow worldview pertaining of just their own
beliefs (NSS, 2015).
Furthermore the school age was raised to 15 in 1947, with secondary education beginning at 11.
Though the lack of funding and teaching costs meant this took a long time to fully implement as the
act stated it should be raised to 16 as soon as feasibly possible but this did not happen until 1972.
Other changes included free milk and meals, clothing grants as well as transport to and from schools.
As families would normally expect children to be working by the age of 13 14 these measures ensured
there was not too high a financial burden on parents. Giddard (2011) argues that although there were
many problems with the 1944 Act its redeeming features were forward looking and progressive.
Few debates in education have been given more time than grammar schools. Though not a part of the
1944 Act the tripartite system was based on a report by the Norward committee (1943); which made
recommendations based on the pseudoscience notion of there being three types of mind:

51.75% more cost of Php 5, 764. 62 per week.
Through work sampling and time study, it was found out that the sealing section of the packaging line
is the bottle neck activity with a standard processing time of 2.86 min/kg. Additional machine is
needed.
Employing strategic capacity planning through formulation of mixed integer linear programming
model, to meet the annual demand, the resulting optimal machine combination was 3: Two single
chamber floor model vacuum sealers and one double chamber floor model vacuum sealer. This gives

Furthermore, it is desired to formulate a mixed integer linear programming model that finds the
optimal combination of machines and maximizes the net present value of such project subject to
budget, demand, and available machines constraints.
V. SCOPE OF THE PROJECT To maximize the impact of the project, the study focused on the hotdog
line that comprises almost 73% of the demand being processed every week. Only the packaging line
of the hotdog process was dealt with. Data collected were from the outputs of January 2011 to
February 2011. Future demands for all hotdog lines were gathered. The company set policies for
acquiring and maintaining equipment were also considered. VI. REVIEW OF RELATED WORKS
AND LITERATURE
According to Anderson et al, linear programming framework has served many applications in a wide
variety of production, finance, marketing, and distribution problems. The authors added that linear
programming models can help managers in efficiently maximizing profits or minimizing costs when
faced with constrained resource allocation decisions.
Several applications of linear programming in the business are scheduling, transportation, managerial
and cost accounting. Profit oriented companies greatly evaluate capital investments they are to shelf
out, since miscalculations will incur great damage to them and so the more efficient LP models are
used. Most applications are

Rap Music And The World
Rap Music conquered the world. It no longer matters what part of the world you live in. Rap music
can be heard playing from car s passing in the streets and the hottest night club scene all across the
globe. There is no doubt that Rap music has made a name for itself. With hard baselines and incredible
word play put together in what is considered a standard sixteen bar versus has brought fame to artists
of all styles. A virtual cash cow in the industry from music sells it now generates over $10 billion per

Older rock music was FULL of lyrics about living a life of drugs and sex and violence, where women
were nothing but groupies and sex objects to write songs about (Rhino, claim that rap isn t music).
The fight to recognize the true artistry was the center of many battles that didn t just include the music
industry. The government decided that the music coming from the ghettos depicting a life from which
the style of music was born from, was too graphic. So they targeted artists making them high priority
of law enforcement starting with intervening and shutting down rap shows, and arresting artists for
expressing themselves through their music. Rappers found themselves going toe to toe with law
enforcement in many parts of the country. These tactics only enhanced the struggle making the realty
of not being accepted by cooperate America more personal. However, the government never
calculated that the very music that they were trying to stop would be used against them. Within
rapping about poverty, gang violence, and drug ridden neighborhoods now the government and law

with groups like Too Live Crew, and N.W.A who fought back using our music to describe the harsh

Essay on The Four Main Stages of Business
A growing business will cycle through four major stages in its development. Evolving from a one
person operation to a multi department company has its challenges and rewards. In this paper, it will
be described how each of the four stages a business may pass through will affect it. The four stages of
a business life are as follow. In stage one, the business is being created and is operated often with only
one person. Stage two, organization growth, structure and employee management can be observed.
Stage three, owner s delegation of certain powers takes place. Finally, stage four, being the creation of
a more structured business, which entails the creation of policies and procedures.
In the first phase of the creation of the business, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the business grows, the owner s focus will have to change from overseeing the day to day
operations to focusing on getting investors and funding and potentially developing new products or
services. As I said earlier, since the proprietor will have staff, he/she will need experienced manager to
help them focus on the core operations of the business as said by William Weirsema: The founder
should realize that he or she can t possibly be the best in the company at everything from marketing to
finances. Functions that can t justify a full time expert should be outsourced to professionals that
specialize. Possibilities include information systems, accounting, human resources, marketing, and
engineering. Hiring a chief operating officer is usually advisable. (1999). Hiring qualified staff and
manager will help the business become more successful.
The fourth stage of business happens when the business has almost reached its full expansion. It is the
stage where the owner has to make decisions on policies, code of conduct for personnel, job
descriptions as well as internal control policies just to name a few. It is also the stage where the owner
will have to decide what type of departmentation they want their organization to use. Whether it is by
project, by function or by matrix this will help the business being more efficient. Also, the founder
will have to decide whether its business should be centralized or

PCA Embolism
Embolism from a cardiac source is the number one etiology of a PCA stroke, as embolism from a
significant proximal vertebrobasilar disease is less common. PCA resulting from the stenosis is
uncommon.
The posterior cerebral artery can be very difficult to diagnose because the etiology of PCA infraction
can t be determined in a quarter of the patients.
There are two main territories for the vascular supply of the PCA. The proximal
PCA territory involves the paramedian midbrain, the medial thalamus, and the posterolateral thalamus.
The distal territory of the PCA stroke is composed of the cerebral hemisphere, occipital lobe, parietal,
and posterior temporal lobes. Proximal atherosclerotic stenosis of the vertebral or basilar artery is a

Is Facebook Making Us Lonely Summary
In the article Is Facebook Making Us Lonely , Stephen Marche discusses the effects and utility of
network in people s life. Marche establishes how Facebook is making us more isolated and replacing
deep connections from society. He also established that isolation is an option in which we are blinded
pushed towards by social networking. According to Marche, Facebook is a tool that people have to
learn how to used because this tool becomes what people make of it. Facebook has been a media to
help people meet others that are far apart but it has also turn out to be a way to lock people into
solitude. According to Marche We meet fewer people. We gather less. And when we gather, our bonds
are less meaningful and less easy . Meaning that we are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite that, there are many people that decided to detach from social network and work to create a
better outside world life, but we still have connections and distractions from the social media;
transfixed by the glare of a screen, hungering for response (Marche, par 5). People are constantly
waiting for a response and not only by the internet but by the world itself, and for that reason, we
expect that Facebook could be an answer of all the things we need answer for because Facebook is
made off the outside world. The only problem is that we do not know when will that happen, or if it
would happen eventually, but we are wasting time waiting for something that is not accurate to happen
and that does not benefit us or help us find an answer to the things that we are looking for. Marche
allude that It s a lonely business, wandering the labyrinths of our friend s and pseudo friends projected
identities, trying to figure out what part of ourselves we ought to project, who will listen, and what
they will hear (Marche, par 22). That is the moment when loneliness comes, in the time that we wait
for a response and we do not find one, either because no one pays attention to us or either there is not
an answer that could be found in the social network. There is a disappointment when what you are
looking for cannot be found because you do not receive help from others and because of that, you
blame Facebook within the people on it. As you blame others, you end up believing that the same way
social media works, outside world does as well. We end up with less friends to trust and ask for help
which leads to isolation and

The Conseption Of Powingder In The Movie Powder And You Re...
Xenophobia came from the Greek word xenos which means a foreigner. According to Healthtopia,
Xenophobia is the condition where the person feels threatened and terror when confronted by a person
with a different background. The movie Powder and You Re Not Alone are example of why we are
afraid of strangers. Not all strangers are bad people. Some strangers you have to look out for and
others could be really good people.
Powder is an albino teenage boy who is very intelligent and was shunned after the death of his last
relative. People started judging and criticizing powder, not even knowing who he was, what he looked
like, or the type of person he was. The special abilities that he had made him an outcast. In the
readings it says, The stranger in town becomes shrouded with suspension. Every action is scrutinized.
Every inaction is a sign of guilt. The writer s argument is, don t judge a book by its cover.
After the death of one of his grandparents, he is discovered and sent to state home where he has
trouble fitting in. His unusual appearance and abilities caused the people in the town to mock and fear
him. Sheriff Barnum s wife, Emma is sick and in a coma and sheriff is unsure of what he should to
help her. Jessie asks Powder to pay Emma a visit to see if he could help. He touches Emma and shares
her thoughts with the sheriff. It becomes clear to Powder that he will fit in with the others, so he runs
away and goes back home. Had they not judged him, they would be able to see the good and potential
in him. The writer/director wants the audience to think that our judgements and criticism shields us
from seeing the good and beauty in someone or something. His point is that we only perceive what is
in front of us. We as people are afraid of strangers because we taught to. The word stranger has a
series of definitions. According to Dictionary.com, A stranger can be a person with whom one has had
no acquaintance, a newcomer in a place or locality. An outsider, or a person who is not a member of
the family, group, community, or a visitor.
The Intended audience seems to be Adults, or anyone into fantasy and mystery movies. The writer s
purpose in writing the film is to persuade or convince the audience to

How To Buy a Product Safely on the Internet
Because innovative technologies have transformed the world, and created an easy access to
computers, the Internet has revolutionized traditional shopping, from a brick and mortar status to E
commerce. Today, a consumer can avoid errands and buy almost everything without living the comfort
of his or her home. The author of this paper, ventured in the experience as an online naïve customer,
provides a guideline of how to shop safely on line for the first time. First, the paper covers the basic
precautions and steps of where to search for buying a camcorder online from a specific merchant, a
shopping portal, and a comparison shopping site. Secondly, the author compares three selected Web
sites and focuses on the purchase itself. Last, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

as an online portal, offers platforms for multiple online companies. It is essential to narrow down the
search to a specific model and find a virtual store that offers the JVC product. Too many pages give an
impression that the site lacks of clarity; but after a few mouse s clicks, the author was able to narrow it
down to a few camcorder in a similar range price that the other web page. A little tip from the author is
that, spending some time scrolling on a web page can give an opportunity to discover an unexpected
deal. The third web page www.shopzilla.com is an easy accessible page to work with. The first screen
asks you to enter the product searched. I m shopping for JVC Camcorder go. Instantly, the author can
pick the model and use the button compare prices ; the portal displays the product details, the different
stores prices, and the names of the virtual stores. The comparison online seems very easy. Multiple
clicks give you features, specifications, and reviews. The toughest part is now how to spot the right
site because the range of prices is large, and some prices seem extravagant. Decision After reading the

Misfolded Proteins
F. The role of prions in BSE is to trigger proteins in the brain to fold abnormally. These prions are
formed by abnormally folded protein that causes neurodegenerative conditions, similarly to that of
Alzheimer s disease. These misfolded proteins tend to clump together, or aggregate, because of their
shape. This disease has no known cause but is generally associated with the ingestion of meat from
cows who already have BSE. Chaperone proteins in BSE are used to (possibly) refold the misfolded
proteins into their correct forms. This may be true because in a normal cell, chaperone proteins
promote the correct folding of their substrate proteins by unfolding the incorrect polypeptide chain
conformations and providing a sequestered environment

A Lesson Plan For A Teacher
Every teacher is responsible for planning what will be taught to their students every week. Each day
the students will have certain activities and work that all comes together under the same category. This
is what is called lesson plans, and they are a very important part of keeping the class together and also
help the teacher stay organized. There are many different ways in which one can set up their lesson
plans, but it is very important to have them done the correct way rather than the wrong way to get the
full benefit from them. I was able to find two different lesson plans that represent the correct way and
also the wrong way. The correct one I was able to find on reading.org and the other one I found on
esltreasures.com. Each one was created for the beneficial knowledge of the student, however they are
very different and only one will help them obtain that knowledge. The first lesson plan that I found on
esltreasures.com was a very simple lesson plan, which appears to be more of an agenda with different
times with each activity. The lesson is supposed to be directed for a class of junior beginners and is
meant to cover a grammar lesson along with spelling and vocabulary. However everything is done in
unrealistic time frames. All the activities are between 5 to 20 minutes each. Since the subject being
taught is grammar and vocabulary, there is an assignment for a spelling game, but it is only for 10
minutes. There is also a grammar point explanation that is only 2 3

  • 2. Voting Rights Act Of 1965 States have utilized their discretion over the time, place, and manner to alienate large segments of the voting population in the pass. From the Jim Crow era literacy tests and poll taxes, to modern day voter ID laws, representatives have attempted to disenfranchise voters at every turn. Thought the Voting Rights Act of 1965 would have ideally rid America of these obstacles by this point, vestiges of the manipulation remain. The passage of years has brought a large degree of uniformity to election laws. For example, all states except Louisiana permit election by plurality in general elections. But several key distinctions prevail, and the desire for federalism here has created issues with suffrage. Voter ID laws are perhaps the most visible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now, congressional districts follow no reasonable pattern or logic; districts within states vary drastically in terms of size, shape, and similarity of socio economic diversity. Parties controlling state legislatures have the most say in the mapping of Congressional districts, and consequently try to draw districts up in ways that insulate incumbents. They draw district lines to maximize the number of seats they can win, usually by concentrating opposition voters into the same districts. This leads to a guaranteed loss in those districts, but allows the ruling party to win the vast majority of other districts by tight, but secure margins. The wider the margin of victory at the national level, the more dangerous gerrymandering becomes to Congressional districts. This was true of the elections of 1974 (Democrats picked up 49 House seats and 4 in the Senate in the wake of Watergate), 1994 (When Republicans gained 54 House and 10 Senate seats during the Gingrich Revolution ), and 2006 (When Democrats won 31 House and six Senate seats). For example, in 2010, Republicans scored a sweeping victory in the House. They ended up controlling redistricting procedures for eighteen states, compared to Democrats six. Republicans then exploited this opportunity to shore up some of their marginal districts by adding in favorable voters to weakening districts. The effects shine clearly: in 2012, only ... Today hordes of books, both scholarly and standard, examine the myths their histories, conceivable sources, and impacts on a portion of the best writers ever, including Dante Alighieri. This writer composed one of the best works ever. Each part of The Divine Comedy has been dissected, from the reasons, to the plots, to the statement decisions, to the philosophical and religious implications. His utilization of established mythology has been inventoried and talked about, but most researchers have disregarded the suggestions coming about because of the stimulating irony of the way that this sincere religious man utilized agnostic myths pervasively all through his clearly Christian works. Despite the fact that established mythology in Christian works has been talked about and broke down by numerous researchers, the oddity between the agnostic and the Christian has not been sufficiently investigated. Most usually, investigation of the myths inside The Divine Comedy either concentrates on the imaginative qualities the myths add to the lyrics, homes in on the ramifications of maybe a couple particular myths, or talks about the impacts of the established artists themselves. However to completely esteem and perceive what Dante did in his lyric, we should not just comprehend the social responses to the myths and the individuals ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As the poverty and the population both increase, the development of the country and the society seems even more far fetched. [pic] [pic] b) RELIGIOUS BELIEF AND TRADITION: A lot of families prefer having a son rather than a daughter. As a result, a lot of families have more children than they actually want or can afford, resulting in increased poverty, lack of resources, and most importantly, an increased population. Another one of India s cultural norms is for a girl to get married at an early age. In most of the rural areas and in some urban areas as well, families prefer to get their girls married at the age of 14 or 15. Although child marriage is illegal in India, the culture and the society surrounding the girls in India does not allow them to oppose such decisions taken by their family. Since these girls get married at a very early age, they do not have the opportunity to get educated. Therefore, they remain uneducated and teach the same norms to their own children, and the tradition goes on from one generation to the other. 2.DEATH RATE: Although poverty has increased and the development of the country continues to be hampered, the

Many slums were removed from areas such as Gorbals, and roads new roads were also built to improve transport links. To re house all of the people made homeless from the demolishing of the slums, many cheap tower blocks were erected for people to live in. However these came with their own set of new problems. They were put up very rapidly, and so they were very badly built. They soon became damp, and walls started to crumble, and furniture became ruined, and people ill. In extreme cases, the walls had completely disintegrated. Families were also split up, or fragmented as a result of the relocations. The tower blocks were also ugly, and it caused people, especially children to become housebound, as it was very impractical for youngsters to go down to the bottom of a tower block on their own to play. • 10. The Religion And Its Origins This chapter was exactly like Vavova s chapter as it was defending morals from debunkers. The author merely formed a defense for keeping his religious beliefs. The author had four parts of his argument. He introduces the arguments and claims that he can defend religion. In the introduction, the author puts out a hypothetical situation where a person, Fred, believes in evolution and God. Fred can see that evolution does not include whether not God is involved. The author claims that this is similar to a debunking argument, but he can defend a religious belief. The author then goes over the structure of his argument and requests patience from the reader on the matter. In the second part of his argument, the author explains religion and its origins. According to psychologists, folk theories are universal processes of human thought and we have found a lot of them. However the fact that we have folk theories does not explain why we have them. Debunking does not argue about whether cognitive evolution is true, it argues around the implications if it were true. Belief forming processes must be truth tracking. However, does that meant that evolution forces us into skepticism? The author doesn t believe so, because of the possibility of a Milvian Bridge. Natural selection would help if it selected for the truth. Targets of beliefs should be causes of beliefs, making them remote and proximate. This is his detailed account of a Milvian Bridge. The author then goes on to define reason ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. The Ethical Theory Of Ethics What is the right thing to do when you re faced with corruption in the work place? Should you simply condone the behavior, participate in it, or remove yourself from the situation? Is there more at stake here than just your own interests and prosperity? This essay will look at a case study involving corruption in a local county government. In this case, Jenny must decide whether or not to expose the rampant corruption prevalent in her workplace. Should Jenny turn a blind eye thereby avoiding any negative consequences, or should she expose these actions and possibly compromise her career aspirations? In considering her case, I believe the best choice Jenny should make involves her exposing the corruption. I will argue for this position through the utilitarian theory of ethics. Before I argue for what Jenny should do, we should first look at the options available to her. Jenny could choose to ignore the obvious theft and misuse of public funds and property. Additionally, she could accept the nepotism displayed by the rest of her coworkers. The immediate benefit to her would be in maintaining the status quo. Jenny would continue to work here until such time as she would be able to move onto another government work place. But choosing this option would mean she would be indirectly approving of the behavior we know has made her uncomfortable. Besides the guilt she would experience, Jenny would also be subject to possible prosecution once the corruption was discovered. For ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Machiavelli s The Prince Analysis Machiavelli s work The Prince is, evidently, a bit dated, but the concepts that it expresses have remained significant to present day society, even when monarchies are no longer the primary form of government. The Prince is substantially relevant to contemporary society in today s age because of its relation to events such as North Korea, World War II, and more. First of all, Machiavelli illustrates on p. 16 how important it is to create a foundation for a civilization: He who has not first laid his foundations may be able . . . to lay them afterwards, but they will be laid with trouble to the architect and danger to the building. Some people could, and have, made the argument that video games are destructive for children and that they become a distraction from actual educational work (Bavelier, Green, Han, Renshaw, Merzenich, Gentile, 2011). On the other hand, one could certainly argue that video games could be a valuable tool in the learning environment (Bavelier, Green, Han, Renshaw, Merzenich, Gentile, 2011). At any rate, there are several different, and accurate views on the subject. The initial argument I mentioned about video games is probably the one you hear about most often. How many times have you heard a set of parents say that their child is rotting away in front of a video game. Well, there is actually some truth to that. Children who show addictive behavior in regards to video games have also shown symptoms that are typical in addicts of other sorts (Bavelier, Green, Han, Renshaw, Merzenich, Gentile, 2011). Without user controls, it is likely that the implementation of data integrity while filling out forms would be impossible. Presentation of data in a similar format makes it simpler to assess and ensure that data compiled is homogenous in nature. • 18. The Gulf Of Mexico Dead Zone The main problem this paper intends to discuss regards the Gulf of Mexico dead zone. This dead zone, which for the most part encompasses the water off the coast of Louisiana, becomes depleted in dissolved oxygen. The dead zone is an outcome of nutrient runoff into the Gulf from urban areas, wastewater treatment plants, and from atmospheric deposition, however, the majority comes from fertilizers used in agriculture around the Mississippi River Basin. The increase in nutrients has been affecting the Gulf of Mexico ecosystem by forming difficult conditions in which organisms live. Another consequence that is directly related to the ecosystem damage is the effect on the fishing economy in in the region. In the paper I will address the questions, how has the dead zone specifically caused damage to the ecosystem of the Gulf of Mexico and how has that damage affected the economic productivity of the fisheries? Furthermore, what policy solutions exist to solve the dead zone problem? Dead zones develop due to excess nutrients getting into water causing eutrophication, which means over enrichment. River runoff deposits these nutrients, which come from upstream, a large amount from agriculture of the Midwest. Nitrogen and phosphorus, the primary excess nutrients, are limiting nutrients to primary producers, such as phytoplankton, that live in the surface oceans. Since those elements are limiting nutrients, an elevated influx of them will cause an explosion of productivity called an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Teen activists are kids and teens who want very badly for the world s problems to go away. To be a teen activist, you have to be many things, but most of all, you have to be a really great role model. You have to be brave, courageous, and most of all, determined. Moreover, people who are in government and for that matter have access to huge sums of money usually do their savings outside the country because of fear. This is what is termed capital flight. Many government officials find it convenient to have their savings accounts outside the country in order not to stand the chance of losing everything should any political instability occurs. Many expatriates who work in the country also remit their earnings back into their countries of origin instead of saving at least part of it here for the business community to get access to capital so that they can expand their businesses to enhance growth. Also, lack of technological advancement is a barrier to economic growth and development in Ghana. Many countries that are experiencing rapid economic growth are technologically inclined. For instance, South Korea, China, Malaysia and Singapore are developing rapidly due to their advancement in technology. Ghana as a country still relies on traditional methods of doing things, example, using cutlasses and hoes in farming instead of tractors, ploughs and combined harvesters. • 26. Conformity And Rebellion In The Lottery By Shirley Jackson In her short story, The Lottery, Shirley Jackson uses conformity and rebellion to convey the main theme, which is that blindly following tradition can have negative consequences. The village members show this through their actions while carrying out this lottery that they have done for generations. One character, Tessie, is the outlier who is a rebellion compared to the other villagers. Her character s actions contrast the other villagers, and make what they are doing seem much more irrational. It also shows how the majority refuses to hear what one who deviates from the norm has to say. This allows them to remain in a bubble and continue to live out the same customs year after year. The villagers conform to these traditions for the sole reason that it s been done for so many years before them. Long enough that they do not even remember certain aspects of it, like the tuneless chant and the ritual salute . Characters like Old Man Warner are symbolic of the older generation that clings without question to practices that may not continue to be beneficial for the community. The black box from which the slips of paper are drawn represents the villagers inability to change. The box is very old and in bad shape, but when it is suggested that the people make a new box, the subject is allowed to fade off without anything s being done. Further emphasizing the long history of both the box and the ritual, the narrator notes: There was a story that the present box had been made with some pieces of the box that had preceded it, the one that had been constructed when the first people settled down to make a village here. Old Man Warner, the oldest man in the village, also represents the theme of tradition. When Mr. and Mrs. Adams suggest to Warner that some other villages have already given up the lottery or are thinking about doing so, he replies with, Next thing you know, they ll be wanting to go back to living in caves . There s always been a lottery. So the other villages who are straying from tradition are dismissed right away and are seen as barbaric for not following the rules. In her book, Lorna mentioned that the policy, as well as the media, would provide benefits to these kinds of industries because the government relies on the tax from the oil industry to provide the financial support to their daily activities such as public services and the financial support to encourage the technological innovation. What s more, the government advertises for pillar industry which could attract the workforce from other provinces and reduce the unemployment rate in the province. In this situation, the government might provide advertisements or establish policies, such as cheaper housing price or free medical care for oil workers, to attract labor forces and encourage the development of oil industry, which might be unfair to other industries. (Owen) Not many Americans know the truth that lies behind the Iran Contra scandals. Most would be surprised to know about the deception of our leaders. Still today, some truth of Iran Contra lies hidden in the conscience of the people who organized it, aided it, and went through with it. It started with good intentions, but soon was corrupted. Some may argue that we must do what we can to smother the flame of communism, but I believe that deception, abuse of power and bloodshed is no way to go about it. To fully understand Iran Contra, you must know the history behind it. Draper explains to us that the Iranian Revolution of 1978 1979 brought the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ignoring this warning, McFarlene and North traveled to Teheran personally to deliver missiles and talk to Iranian officials. North even brought Iranians into the White House secretly at night to discuss the situation. ( Iran Contra ) The lies in Iran Contra kept getting deeper and deeper, and Reagan and his administration refused to give up their fight. But, they would never be able to keep such an intricate web of lies from being exposed. They had already been in direct violation of the Boland amendment, which prohibited aid to Nicaraguan rightists. As word leaked out about North s role in the operation, North and others lied under oath, adding perjury and obstruction of justice to their other crimes. In early October, Sandinista air defense troops shoot down the C 130 used in supplying the Contras. Former CIA operative Eugene Hasenfus, a cargo handler on board, was captured and paraded before television cameras. • 37. The Main Provisions Of The 1944 Education Act And 1988... The 20th century saw more changes to education than the thousand years preceding it. This was largely in response to a recently industrialised country; with newly acquired voting rights, it became apparent that education should not be only for elites. Education is a crucial element of social mobility and it is important we fully understand both the positive and negative aspects of previous legislation to help us plan for the future. The were two major 20th century pieces of legislation: 1944 Education Act and 1988 Education Reform Act. Both brought with them changes that are still being felt today. The ramifications of Butler s failure to separate church and schooling and further pandering by all subsequent ministers can still be witnessed today. The church s influence on teaching on subjects evolution has forced the requirement of a law to ban creationism being taught (BHA, 2014). It has also come to light that many faith schools teach a very narrow worldview pertaining of just their own beliefs (NSS, 2015). Furthermore the school age was raised to 15 in 1947, with secondary education beginning at 11. Though the lack of funding and teaching costs meant this took a long time to fully implement as the act stated it should be raised to 16 as soon as feasibly possible but this did not happen until 1972. Other changes included free milk and meals, clothing grants as well as transport to and from schools. As families would normally expect children to be working by the age of 13 14 these measures ensured there was not too high a financial burden on parents. Giddard (2011) argues that although there were many problems with the 1944 Act its redeeming features were forward looking and progressive. Few debates in education have been given more time than grammar schools. Though not a part of the 1944 Act the tripartite system was based on a report by the Norward committee (1943); which made recommendations based on the pseudoscience notion of there being three types of mind: ... It is also the stage where the owner will have to decide what type of departmentation they want their organization to use. People are constantly waiting for a response and not only by the internet but by the world itself, and for that reason, we expect that Facebook could be an answer of all the things we need answer for because Facebook is made off the outside world. The only problem is that we do not know when will that happen, or if it would happen eventually, but we are wasting time waiting for something that is not accurate to happen and that does not benefit us or help us find an answer to the things that we are looking for. That is the moment when loneliness comes, in the time that we wait for a response and we do not find one, either because no one pays attention to us or either there is not an answer that could be found in the social network. • 47. The Conseption Of Powingder In The Movie Powder And You Re... Xenophobia came from the Greek word xenos which means a foreigner. According to Healthtopia, Xenophobia is the condition where the person feels threatened and terror when confronted by a person with a different background. The movie Powder and You Re Not Alone are example of why we are afraid of strangers. Not all strangers are bad people. Some strangers you have to look out for and others could be really good people. Powder is an albino teenage boy who is very intelligent and was shunned after the death of his last relative. People started judging and criticizing powder, not even knowing who he was, what he looked like, or the type of person he was. The special abilities that he had made him an outcast. In the readings it says, The stranger in town becomes shrouded with suspension. Every action is scrutinized. Every inaction is a sign of guilt. The writer s argument is, don t judge a book by its cover. After the death of one of his grandparents, he is discovered and sent to state home where he has trouble fitting in. His unusual appearance and abilities caused the people in the town to mock and fear him. Sheriff Barnum s wife, Emma is sick and in a coma and sheriff is unsure of what he should to help her. Jessie asks Powder to pay Emma a visit to see if he could help. He touches Emma and shares her thoughts with the sheriff. It becomes clear to Powder that he will fit in with the others, so he runs away and goes back home. Had they not judged him, they would be able to see the good and potential in him. The writer/director wants the audience to think that our judgements and criticism shields us from seeing the good and beauty in someone or something. His point is that we only perceive what is in front of us. We as people are afraid of strangers because we taught to. The word stranger has a series of definitions. According to Dictionary.com, A stranger can be a person with whom one has had no acquaintance, a newcomer in a place or locality. This disease has no known cause but is generally associated with the ingestion of meat from cows who already have BSE.
