TASK:MICROSTRIP PATCH ANTENNA
DESIGN AND SIMULATION
Vengalam Mahendra
Reg no:16MCE0036
Aim
• The aim of the thesis is to design and fabricate
an inset-fed rectangular Microstrip Patch
Antenna and study the effect of antenna
dimensions Length (L) , Width (W) and
substrate parameters relative Dielectric
constant (εr), substrate thickness (t) on the
Radiation parameters of Bandwidth and
Beam-width.
Technical objective
• There are several important antenna
characteristics that should be considered
when choosing an antenna for your
application as follows:
1).Antenna radiation patterns
2).Gain
3). Directivity
Design
• The three essential
parameters for the design of
a rectangular Microstrip
Patch Antenna
• Frequency of operation
(fo)=3.3GHZ
• Dielectric constant of the
substrate (εr)=2.94
• Height of dielectric substrate
(h)=1.6mm
Design procedure
Simulation
Designed for 2.4 GHz operation on a
substrate with 1.6 mm thickness.
