3. DEFINITIONS
• Initial assessment must be short and provide the
student with the opportunity to assess their
potential to succeed in MAT1033.
• Additional support consist of monitored periodic
online assignments and pre-test review sessions
run by the assigned Learning Assistant.
• Learning Assistants are lab personnel assigned to
sections and will coordinate review sessions for
faculty to whom they are assigned.
4. COMMUNICATION PLAN
• Flyers and other printed announcements in labs and
academic areas.
• Use of LA’s to visit classrooms during the first week of
classes and before exams. These visits will be brief and
coordinated by the instructor of record, and their
purpose will be simply to remind students of the LA’s
schedule, as well as lab hours.
• Instructor announcements via their academic
management systems.

In order to better assist you to succeed in this course, the
campus has academic support labs where you may meet with
tutors and receive additional assistance with your course work.
