It’s no surprise that the community is rallying around Magento 2.0. Because the community played such a central role in shaping its development
In fact we’re seeing great momentum already with 3,000 downloads of the Magento 2.0 Enterprise Edition and 120,000 downloads of the Magento 2.0 Community Edition
As of today, we have 97 Magento Solution Partners that have been trained on Magento 2.0. And we’re adding more virtually every day.
These partners know the platform, and they are your best resource for migrating your existing Magento store, or if you’re new to Magento, launching a new site using the world’s most flexible, scalable, customizable platform: Magento 2.0.

Now let’s dig into the highlights of Magento 2.0.
In developing Magento 2.0, we were fortunate to have an incredible foundation to build upon.
But to stay ahead of a changing landscape, we knew we had to do even more to help customers grow, innovate and adapt at scale.
That’s why we placed so much emphasis on ensuring that Magento 2.0 would deliver innovation through our open flexible platform, business agility that retailers need, and scalability & performance for our customers.

Registered customers are automatically identified via their email address and have the option to login to use their saved account information for faster checkout, or they can continue with a guest checkout
Speaking of checkout, we’ve made a number of improvement to payment gateways

These changes have delivered measureable improvements in page load performance for catalog and checkout pages.
Catalog pages display up to 56% faster than page load times on Magento Enterprise Edition 1.14.2. The full checkout flow is also 28%-53% faster for registered and guest checkouts.
In terms of scalability, you can see that catalog scales to 3.5M page views/hour – which is 150% more than Magento 1
Magento 2.0 scales to 250K orders/hour which is 117% more than Magento 1
If you had installed Magento2 from our public GitHub, you may have seen that Magento2 Admin Panel now has the New Look& Feel.
According to the modern trends Admin Panel has modern flat design, it is more touch-friendly and we constantly improving the usability of the system.
An example of the improvements made to the admin is the new configurable data tables for products, orders and customer data.
Now any user of the system can configure and customize columns and turn on/off those that are most useful.
After they’ve configured the columns exactly how they want them, they can save that view and get back to it with a single click.
Also we have dramatically improved the product creation flow,
Allowing you to create variations by size, color etc and creation products based on many attributes as needed on the fly.
Not only has the platform been generally available since November 18th but we have over a dozen merchants live on the new Magento platform some of whom you see here and many more coming online in the next few months.
You may remember the “Buy a Feature” game last year, product import/export was your top vote and we’ve now made it easier and faster to work with.
Now it supports the update of the cross-sells, up-sells, and related products with multiple values per SKU
Multiple images can be imported both from local and external storage
Multiple custom options can be imported in a single row
And simplified import of the configurable products and their prices

Our more modular code base, service contracts, and other architectural changes also means that there is less risk of breakage when upgrading between Magento 2.0 releases or adding new extensions. This will give you the freedom to upgrade more frequently and turn to the Magento ecosystem for new features and capabilities to grow your business.
And, we’ve made the actual upgrade and installation process better with a new standalone installer that will check for required code and potential conflicts before starting. This let’s you know what changes may be needed upfront, so there are no “surprises” when you install new code.
My last piece of business is sharing a brief overview of our 2016 Roadmap for Magento Digital Commerce.
