Louis Riel Essay
Writing an essay on this particular topic can be quite challenging due to the complexity and
controversial nature of Louis Riel's life and legacy. Riel was a multifaceted figure in Canadian
history, known for his role as a MГ©tis leader in the Red River and North-West Rebellions, as
well as his contributions to the MГ©tis cause and the development of Manitoba. However,
opinions on Riel vary widely, with some viewing him as a hero who fought for the rights of the
MГ©tis people, while others see him as a traitor and a rebel against the Canadian government.
To effectively write an essay on Louis Riel, one must navigate through historical accounts,
political perspectives, cultural analyses, and legal interpretations. It requires thorough research
into primary sources, such as Riel's own writings and speeches, as well as secondary sources
from historians and scholars who have studied his life and impact. Additionally, understanding
the broader historical context of the Canadian westward expansion, indigenous relations, and
colonial policies is essential for providing a comprehensive analysis.
Furthermore, crafting a well-rounded argument about Riel's significance involves grappling with
nuanced questions about identity, nationalism, justice, and sovereignty. It necessitates critical
thinking and the ability to present balanced viewpoints, acknowledging both Riel's achievements
and the controversies surrounding his actions.
In summary, writing an essay on the topic of Louis Riel requires extensive research, critical
analysis, and careful consideration of diverse perspectives. It is a task that demands sensitivity to
historical complexities and a willingness to engage with conflicting interpretations.

Comparing The Plot Scenes In Hamlet And Gregory Doran
s...
William Shakespeare s Hamlet has been portrayed several times during the past
centuries but what distinguishes each piece of work is how the directors approached
the play. Hamlet without doubt is a troubled man overcome with the death of his
father and the discovery that us uncle now step father murdered his late father, the
king of Denmark. Kenneth Branaghs and Gregory Doran s portrayals of the famous
closet scene demonstrates two extremes of Hamlets relationship with his mother
Gertrude.
Branagh s version of the closet scene uses bright pastel colours such as blue, pink
and red to show happiness and innocence. The use of light blue hints the youth of a
child as it is often associated with the birth of boys in today s society. The only
exception is Hamlet, as he is dressed all in black. His black clothing is not only used
as a way to signify Hamlet s mourning of his father but also as a way to represent
how Hamlet himself is corrupt. This contrasts with Gertrude s appearance who is
dressed neatly in golden. Gold which symbolizes wealth and power is used to
describe Gertrude s position of power in the kingdom. Additionally, the golden dress
represents purity and demonstrates how Gertrude is oblivious to the corruption
taking place in her kingdom.
On the other hand, Doran s version uses much darker tones such as dark blues,
silvers and golds. The use of silver and gold demonstrates the wealth and power the
royal family has over themselves and society while the dark blue

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Symptoms
Chief Complaint: Patient presents with complaint of moist cough, phlegm, shortness
of breath, fever, and chills.
History of Present Illness
Onset: When did the symptoms start? Did they start gradually or abruptly?
Location: If the patient is experiencing pain, where does he feel the pain? Does he
feel sinus pressure? Does he have body aches? Does he have chest pain?
Duration: For how long have you been experiencing these symptoms? How many
days? Weeks? A coughthat has a recent onset is most often the result of a viral or
bacterial infection in the respiratory system (Dains, Baumann, Scheibel, 2016). A
cough that last longer than 3 weeks is more likely the result of chronic lung disease
or heart disease such as in COPD, cystic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
How high has your fever gotten? The most common signs and symptoms of a viral
infection are a low grade fever, small amounts of clear to yellow sputum production,
nasal congestion, sore throat, and overall weakness (Dains, Baumann, Scheibel,
2016). However an acute cough that includes a fever greater than 101 degrees
Fahrenheit, chest pain, sob, and purulent or dark sputum may indicate a more serious
illness such as bacterial pneumonia (Dains, Baumann, Scheibel, 2016). A persistent
fever, loss of appetite, and ill appearance may suggest a bacterial infection (Dains,
Baumann, Scheibel, 2016). An acute cough that occurs from a noninfectious process,
does not present with fever, chills, and purulent sputum, as seen in heart failure or
pulmonary embolism (Dains, Baumann, Scheibel, 2016).
Aggravating Factors: Is there anything that aggravates your symptoms? Is there a
time in the day that they get worse? A cough that awaken people in the night are
usually related to respiratory problems where bronchial irritation is a factor such as
asthma or chronic bronchitis or heart failure (Dains, Baumann, Scheibel, 2016).
Asthma usually presents with nighttime coughing (Dains, Baumann, Scheibel, 2016).
A severe cough in the early morning usually indicates postnasal drip, cystic fibrosis,
or bronchiectasis. A cough that is worse at night may indicate croup, post nasal drip,
lower respiratory tract infection, or an allergic reaction (Dains,
Three Kings Day Short Story
The air rang with laughter and the festive sounds of families celebrating the eve of
Three Kings Day. The aroma of suckling pigs basted with adobo and scented with
garlic and oregano, roasting on spits above ground level fogГіns, tangoed with the
music of Celia Cruz, Mercedes Sosa and the Afro Cuban rhythm of Tito Puente.
Shrieking children playing come find me competed with the reverberating slapping
of dominoes against wooden picnic tables. Adding to the festive air was the spicy

A Report On Aircraft Fuel Efficiency
Report on research Project. Abstract: Aircraft fuel efficiency has improved
significantly since the beginning of the jet era in the 1960s, and from 1970 to 2000
total energy intensity was reduced by more than 60%. Fuel burn is a key
determinant of aviation economics given that fuel costs account for up to 35% of
total aviation costs. The aviation industry has therefore focused on fuel efficiency
improvement through engine and aircraft innovation which has resulted in a
reduction in total energy intensity of more than 60% since 1970. There are a number
of evolutionary technologies that could help achieve further fuel efficiency
improvements in new aircraft over the next 20 years. Aviation engineers have been
working on silent aircraft and using 3D systems in aircraft to make precise aircraft
design which will be very useful for cargo purposes and for travellers to reach their
destinations. Students of Cambridge university are also been working on silent
aircraft which will reduce the aircraft noise and improve the fuel efficiency. I set out

Nursing Budgeting Process Paper
Budgeting is an important managerial process to plan and control the finances of a
unit. There are multiple factors that impact the nurse budgeting process and each
organization has its own approach in the budgeting process. The nursing leader has
the fiscal responsibility to balance the long term fiscal needs of the organization with
the patients short term health care needs .The final budget is usually the result of a
compromise of these factors that affect the organization. s The purpose of this paper
is to discuss nursing budget in the context of health care nursing leadership. Question

The internal factors are those that impact the provision of health care on a daily
basis (Finkler et al., 2007). These factors are health care staffing, wages for regular
and temporary health care providers, medical equipment, office supplies and repair
and maintenance (Gallagher Hodge, 2012). These factors fall under the umbrella of
the operating budget. According to Dunham Taylor Pinczuk (2015), the operating
budget cover the day to day cost of the unit, and represents best guess of costs over
an incoming period (Dunham Taylor Pinczuk, 2015). Acording to Finkler, Kovner
and Jones (2007), the largest element of nursing operating budget is usually health
care staffing. The authors added that nursing personnel costs dominate largely
because the clinical care provided by nurses is essential to the process of providing
health care services (Finkler, et al., 2007). Health care staffing budget is prioritized
according to the immediate staffing need in the nursing unit. High acuity levels often
require an increase in the utilization of licensed nursing personnel , which relates to
increased salary expenditures. For example, the intensive care unit will generally
require a higher staff to patient ratio than a regular nursing floor and will incur a
much larger nursing expense than the regular
Themes Of Violence In Dante In Love, Dante Alighieri
Introduction
According to English writer, A. N. Wilson, in Dante in Love , Dante Alighieri,
A.N. Wilson s perspective of Dante Alighieri as a poet, as well as a madman
According to (Wilson 2011), Dante Alighieri, author of the Divine Comedy, is a man
whom resembled both a poet and a madman. Wilson briefly emphasises in, Dante in
Love , the two contrasting depictions from Leonardo Bruni and Giovanni Boccaccio,
of whom Dante was with regards to the role that he played within the Florentine
society and how it influenced him as a poet in his work. (Sayers 1949), asserts that
the Divine Comedy is an allegorical poem, influenced by, Dante s theological,
political and personal background .

The circle is broken up further into three separate sections of whom these acts of
violence can be imposed on. These sins of violence is taken on three different
forms being: performing harm on other people, harm on oneself or harm on God, as
explain by Vigil in the eleventh canto of the Divine Comedy (Sayers, Dante The
Divine Comedy 1: Hell 1949).
The relationship between violence and Dante as a poet
The violence portrayed in the poem
The relationship between violence and madness
In accordance with the scenes of violence found in Dante s Inferno, a link can be
found in Wilson s argument that violent scenes within the poem can justify the
possibility of Dante being both a poet, as well as a madman. Dante s Inferno, as
emphasised by A. N. Wilson, is a popular and exciting read not only from the
unpredictability of order of events (Dante wrote Inferno without have a clear vision
of how the poem will end), but for the poem s, sheer brilliance and beauty of its
words, its music , as well as for its, unforgettable characterization (Wilson 2011).

The Last Days Of Summer
The last few days of summer are always unforgettable. As the school year draws
near I find myself cherishing every moment of summer fun. Everyone is staying up
late and sleeping all day, except for me. On this particular August morning, I was
struggling to get up for my team s daily soccer practice. Once dressed I was
actually feeling pretty excited about the day. The twenty minute car ride flew by
and Mom dropped Anna and I off at the soccer field. I stepped out of the car and the
smoldering heat hit me like a freight train and I had to remind myself that
practicing is for the best. I began putting on my socks and shin guards when several
of my friends started showing up, one by one. I m so relieved when my favorite

though a shooting drill came next. On my first shot I used great force and my
laces to send the ball in. It flew up towards the very top right corner of the goal
frame but my effort my not enough. The team goal keeper leaped with all her
might, knocking the ball out of play and diving onto the ground making an
unpleasant thud. Although it was a good shot, I felt defeated and as I got back in
line, the frustration set in. I stepped up for my next shot brimming with
determination and made the goal, my confidence restored. After a few more
rounds of shooting we were given another water break. Time was passing and the
humidity was rising. This time the water just tasted like any other water, but I was
still satisfied. As practice was drawing towards the end, it was time for our last
activity: scrimmaging. It s what I looked forward to almost every day. While coach
began picking teams, I prayed my team wouldn t have to wear bibs. Of course we
did, which is just my luck. The stench of the bibs was so bad it could have knocked
me down. But as I pulled one over my head, I pretended it was a brand new blouse.

Nintendo The Survivor Essay
Nintendo the Survivor
Work hard, but in the end it s in heaven s hands. This is a quote from Game Over
about the meaning of the word Nintendo. In the video gaming market, though, it was
really in consumers hands. Nintendo has always needed to adapt to survive in the
market. Nintendo always needed to be on top; it was a company that needed to be
ahead of the rest. Nintendo had to set new standards, or improve on an existing
product or idea.
The Dutch and Portuguese first brought their card games over to Japan 355 years

Portuguese. Fusajiro Yamauchi came along and integrated the cards into existing

The license was with an American company, Walt Disney, to make playing cards
with Disney characters on them. It turned out to be a good move for Nintendo, as
Nintendo s market now included young people and families; soon their playing card
profits sky rocketed (Company History).
Nintendo s president, Hiroshi Yamauchi, wanted the company to expand faster; he
wanted to be able to compete in a bigger portion of the market. Hiroshi came up
with his own ideas to do so: individually portioned instant rice, a taxi service, and a
love hotel that charged rooms by the hour (Game Over). Hiroshi later trashed these
services and products to focus back on the part of the company that succeeded all the
rest, the playing cards. Later on he sprouted another idea; and in 1969, Hiroshi set up
a Games department for Nintendo (Company History). In order to compete with the
toy industries: Hiroshi Yamauchi hired many people to the new department.
Yamauchi had told them that they needed to come up with something that will be
sold for the coming Christmas. Yamauchi only told them that it needed to be
something good (Game Over).
The first few toys that came from Nintendo were simply novelty toys; such toys
were the Ultra Hand (used for snatching far away objects), and the Ultra Scope (used
for seeing around corners and spying). Later on, the toys became more electronic. In

Abstract
The purpose of the lab was to separate a mixture containing methanol, acetone, methyl
ethyl ketone, ethyl acetate, propyl acetate and 2 pentanone using gas chromatography.
The effect of temperature and pressure variance of the Mini GC on the chromatogram
was analyzed and the best temperature pressure profile was determined based on the
results. Temperature programming was determined to give better separation than
using a constant temperature. The gas chromatogram was analyzed and peaks were
identified based on their behavior within the column. The first two peaks were
identified as either acetone or methanol. The next two peaks were identified as 2
pentanone and Methyl Ethyl Ketone and the last two peaks were identified as Ethyl
Acetate and Propyl Acetate.

The Revolution Of The Soviet Revolution
Many historians agree that Vladimir Lenin was one of the most motivating
revolutionaries in the history of the world. Once Lenin became a statesman he lost
focus on how to run a country, and he lacked a plan. Lenin s greatest achievements
were in fact during the struggle for power in Russia, and not during his time as leader
of the USSR. His leadership in the revolutionary Bolshevik party served as an
important model for later revolutionary leaders of the 20th century. Lenin s works
made important contributions to the development of revolutionary socialist theory.
Many may feel that Lenin had little impact on the rest of the world, but this is frankly
just not true. Through the Bolshevik Revolution, Lenin brought about the USSR and
the basic idea of communism. Lenin had bright ideas for the future of the USSR, and
was disappointed when he saw people like Joseph Stalin turning the nation into an
controlling dictatorship. Lenin thoroughly enjoyed bringing about the idea of
Leninism to the Russian republic. In the postscript to his brochure, The State and
Revolution, Lenin wrote, It is more pleasant and useful to go through the experience
of revolution than to write about it. Vladimir Leninwas most likely one of the few
men that could have executed the Bolshevik Revolution successfully. Lenin s
devotion to his ideals was shown by the fact that he continued to run the revolution
even when he was exile. Lenin was actually the only successful revolutionary to
Taking a Look at Lipoproteins
Lipoproteins are multicomponent assemblies of lipids and proteins that form distinct
molecules with an approximate stoichiometric value between the lipid and protein
components within the complex. Lipoproteins exist with many types each with a
specific molecular mass, size, density, physiological role, and chemical
composition.(devlin,57) The lipids and their derivatives may be covalently or non
covalently bound to the proteins. Lipoproteins show biodiversity in their forms, many
enzymes, antigens, toxins, structural proteins, transporters, emulsification agents in
lipid uptake, and adhesins are lipoproteins with an important network that supports
the transportation of fats in blood stream and inside and outside of cell, as building

Theories Of Conspiracy Theories
According to the Oxford Dictionary a conspiracy is: A secret plan by a group to
do something unlawful or harmful and The action of plotting or conspiring
Cambridge Dictionary seems to take similar approach; it says that a conspiracy is:
the activity of secretly planning with other people to do something bad or illegal.
Based on these two definitions we can draw up a theory that a conspiracy theories
are stories or plots of sinister and illegal events or deeds committed by evil people
(sort of villains) to harm the humanity. Slightly different approach to conspiracy can
be found in the Rough Guide to Conspiracy Theories by James McConnachie and
Robin Tuge. They write that: To conspire once meant to breath together . It is an
image of the most intimate and secretive complicity, perfectly conjuring smoky
political backrooms, sinister whisperings... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But all these definitions listed above have something in common; They state that
conspiracy is illegal and harmful act of plotting against someone or some group. It
is always done in secret. That is why so many people come up with so many
different and wild conspiracy theories. They think that the knowledge of a true
nature of a certain event is hidden from the society and they look for the most
possible (or improbable) explanation. Jessie Walker, a writer interested in
conspiracy topic, has created five basic kinds of conspiracy theories: The Enemy
Outside a group of villains scheming outside community to harm it. The Enemy
Within conspirators mixed with ordinary people, undistinguishable from them. The
Enemy Above people in power that are manipulating law and the system for their
own good. The Enemy Below people of lower classes conspiring to overturn the
social order. The Benevolent Conspiracies a group or forces that work secretly to
improve the world and help
Early Childhood Education Reflection Paper
As I reflect on the past eight weeks, my insights on Early Childhood Education have
given me a better understanding of issues and trends in Early Childhood Education.
As I mastered this course, I have also become more knowledgeable and understanding
of the needs of children and families in my community. Another way that I have been
strengthened was through discussions and sharing blogs with my colleagues. On the
other hand, researching professional early childhood educationtopics and viewing
multimedia presentations were beneficial to my professional growth as well. I felt
that the multimedia were definitely the meat of this course. Therefore, I am
knowledgeable with information than before. As an early childhood educator, and
regarding changing demographics and diversity findings, I am significantly
impacted on my professional over my initial reaction. However, I have learned that
diversity is challenging, as the invasion of immigrants and refugees into the U.S.
from different parts of the world is changing the country s demographics. According
to Boutte, G. S. (2008), in a rapidly changing world, some groups have greater
societal benefits than others. Therefore, educators should show love as they face the
challenge of preparing students from diverse populations by considering their
background because of race, ethnicity, gender, class, language, religion, ability or age
(p. 166). For this reason, early childhood educators should welcome culturally diverse
environments
The Leadership Theory Of Servant Leadership
Servant leadership is a leadership theory that originated from the works of Robert
Greenleaf in the early 1970s (Northouse, 2016). According to the Robert K. Greenleaf
Center for Servant Leadership (2016), Greenleaf was not the first person to create the
idea of serving others through leadership, but he does hold the responsibility of
coining the term, and applying it to the modern world. This modernized theory
focuses on the leader serving the follower, in a way that gives empowerment and
satisfaction. This is accomplished through the leader having behaviors of
conceptualizing, emotional healing, putting followers first, helping followers grow
and succeed, behaving ethically, empowering, and creating value for the community,
which is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Students differ in their maturity level, ability to learn, motivation, priorities,
personality, as well as many other factors that put them on different levels
(Rajbhandari, 2014). These differences are very obvious when it comes to being in
the classroom and assigning projects, and observing that some students need more
help than others. It is relatively easy to label a student with the Situational Leadership
Model designed by K. Blanchard, P. Zigarmi, and D. Zigarmi. The model consists
of four developmental levels, which ultimately decides the leadership style to be
either directing, coaching, supporting, or delegating (Northouse, 2016). In certain
subjects such as math or literature, students are already divided by their level of
development. In these advanced classes there may typically be students that are not
in need of much support or direction, where as other classes need strong support
along with high direction. With these divided classes it may be easier to apply this
theory, but when applied to a mixed classroom where there may be a few students in
need of the supporting category, and many students in need of the coaching category,
how is it that you move those few students into delegating, and the rest into
supporting? When so many students need high direction and high support, the
educator will not only be spread thin, but it will be quite a challenge to improve

During the last three days of the Seven Day Countdown, employees get technical
training from the department they will be working for. On these days, they learn
the details that are involved in performing their jobs to the standards by the hotel
and everyone is excepted to work under the production processes. The employees
get to take their newly learned skills to the test and get dressed in full uniform to
serve real customers. Members of the committee observe every trial fun, from the
housekeepers to the restaurant and look for any flaws in their services.
For the first month of operating a new hotel, their occupancy is only 50% because it
allows them to reduce the number of tables the waiters have to serve and the number
of rooms the housekeepers must clean. They do this so that the new employees do
their job perfectly and their productivity will increase as they get more and more
comfortable with their job. It also allows them to offset minor turnovers that they
might experience after opening.
The Seven Day Countdown process is said to be the worldwide best practice of the
company but I think that it s to short of a time frame for an employee to learn
everything and master all the aspects of becoming a world renounced Ritz Carlton
employee. The first thing I would change is training with mock customers. During the
last few days of the training, they are trained with real customers. I don t that is safe
Edward Norton, Disturbing Monster
Edward Norton, disturbing monster, or someone we sympathise with. This is the
scene that changes our very gripping opinions on Derek as a person. It changes the
way we view him. He has realised his wrongs and is showing remorse. In this frame
we see Derek covering his eye gripping swastika tattoo with his hand. His facial
expressionsfilled with remorse as we see his lips over turned like a frown and his
eyes squinting, which allows us to understand his disgust toward his decisions and
hatred for his tattoo. Derek is left looking vulnerable. Through Edward s performance
we see him totally stripped down and as an audiencewe can see that so we connect
with him, we can feel the wave of pain and emotion that he is going through. As an
audience we see him evolving as a person he s changing and this is a turning point
for him. It was that moment when he really realised killing those people made no
difference it achieved nothing, through Edward s performance we can really see
that. Derek has gone from being so proud of his tattoo in the first scene to being
ashamed of it. We see him boasting about it in the beginning of the film showing it
off like he was Hitler, to this frame here where he is ashamed to have that on his
body now longing for purity and a new beginning. Through Kaye s direction
Edwards s performance has connected with the audience on a personal level that is
exactly what Tony wanted to achieve. A moving Performance by Edward is shown

Blues Chicago Analysis
In the final two chapters of Blues Chicago, the author focuses on the significance of
place branding and ethnic and cultural tourism as it relates to the commodification of
Chicago blues and its accompanying subculture. The author explains how the city
government, local boosters and cultural authorities are capitalizing on the global
allure of the bluesas a catalyst to stimulate economic growth. However, he neglects to
produce a closer analysis of the cultural voyeurs seeking the Chicago blues
experience and how the ways in which they travel and their geographic imaginary
shape how they engage with and commodify the culture.
More specifically, tourists and travelers commodify blues culture through the ways in
which they partake in and consume it. For example, tourists typically participate
indirectly by interacting in touristy areas, usually in the downtown zones, where they
are most likely to encounter other tourists seeking out the same experiences. In
contrast, travelers will directly intermingle with the locals and ... Show more content

opportunities to immerse themselves in a reality that is indicative of what a true
Chicagoan would participate in by attempting to understand the local and cultural
norms of the people and the space. In other words, they are searching for an
experience. On the other hand, the tourist acts as an observer, pursuing the must see
attractions and what has accompanied the place branding of the city, typically
provided by its government. Additionally, the tourist stays in the sanitized spaces,
cleansed enough for city outsiders to witness blues culture safely who will also share

Indian Camp Analysis
Kian Cato September 17, 2017
From fishing trip to the birth of a baby to an unexplained suicide, Nick has had a
very interesting day. Indian Camp is centered around the main character Nick who is
a young boy and his father is a doctor. From the short story Indian Camp , by Ernest
Hemingway, Nick experiences his first time seeing several things happening as
graphic as child birth with C section and suicide, things he had never seen before
and had no idea that he was about to experience that in his life. From the reading,
the young Indian seems reluctant to look at the episode head on however he was a
good help to his dad. I also observed that Nick is not a tough person, that he is
sensitive, passionate and caring. Oh, daddy can t you give her something to make her
stop screaming? I think that Nick might have been too young to be experiencing such
a grownup episode as childbirth and under the circumstance as a C section and
mortality. I also think that his father may have pushed this experience on him a
little too soon. As it turns out Nick still too young to really process the idea of
mortality and Nick s father had to explain to him a whole lot more than he
expected to do. He was looking away so as not to see what his father was doing. Nick
did not watch. His curiosity had been gone for a long time.
In the Indian Camp there was a young boy named Nick who goes on an adventure

Runaway Alice Munro
In Alice Munro s short story, Runaway, we are introduced to the main character
Clara from the start. Through the introduction of the story, the reader may begin to
notice the sadness that runs in Carla s life. The exposition reveals the troubled
marriage Carla is in. Munro demonstrates this by the characterisation of Clark, but
most importantly, by Munro describing Carla s actions when she s with Clark.
Carla would act joyful, walking into the living room with a brisk step and try her
best to display affection towards Clark, but it never works out. When hugging him
from behind she begins to cry. By Munro adding this detail into the story, one can
assume that Carla s sadness might be based upon Clark. However, Munro adds Carla

Because their relationship isn t it s best, Carla has to find ways to have a pleasant
moment with him, even if it means coming up with an exotic story. Carla tells a
bedtime story of how Mr. Jamieson would get aroused by Carla and that seemed to
spark Clark s interest. It was one of their rare moments where they both enjoyed
being near each other even though it was nothing but an actual bedtime story.
When these rare occasions happen, Carla would be extremely grateful. By her
being grateful for a false telling of events, shows how truly desperate Carla is to
find an escape from her constant misery. However, most things only work for a
certain amount of time until it s spark wears off. Once the spark wears off, what do
you do then? You ll find another escape; in Carla s case, she literally finds an
escape. After having her breakdown in front of Mrs. Jamieson, Sylvia, Carla
expresses her desire to get away . If it wasn t for Sylvia suggestion and Carla s
vulnerability, she would have thought more about her actions. But, because Carla
grew desperate for an escape from her growing sadness, she didn t blink and eye and

The Classical Theories Of Organizations And Management
To what extent do you agree with criticisms by Marxist Labour Process and
McDonaldization theorists (discuss either or both) of orthodox theories of
organizations and management? (Word count: 2097)
Organisations and management have seen considerable level of changes in the past
few decades, mainly in terms of theories, concepts, and so on. Although there have
been many classical theories in the business environment, some of which are still in
practice, a new wave of theories have emerged following industrialisation and
modernisation of organisations and processes. The classical theories of management,
and other traditional models were criticised or extended by modern theorists from a
different point of view. Although it is difficult to reach in a concrete judgment from a
single point of view, as to which theories are better for managing business, especially
since, each management models may have different implications and impacts on
different business types, this essay attempts to understand these differences by
critically examining the criticisms raised by the McDonaldization theorists and the
Labour Process theorists against the orthodox models of organisations and
management in the light of available literature and examples.
In order to understand the concept further, a brief note on each theories are
necessary. The term was first coined by George Ritzer to refer to the rationalisation
of work, life, and such. The concept argues that breaking down each task to the
The Lynchings In Duluth Summary
Over all this book was very interesting to read. The Lynchings in Duluth has a
strong tie to this course because of the racial issues that it covers and the ethical
issues that it mentions are interesting to think about as well. The book did a great
job of making me think about things differently because it gave a solid impartial
report from both sides of the story thus allowing the reader to come to their own
conclusions about who was in the wrong and what they would have done were
they in the characters shoes. I have no way of judging what I would do if I were in
the same situation as all of the people involved, I can say that if I were one of the
policeofficers involved I would have try my best to protect the men in my custody

Causes Of The Dust Bowl
Previously, The Dust Bowl was thought to have been caused by completely natural
phenomena, without influence from human practices. Even though the southward
shift of the jetstream that would have brought rain was a natural occurrence, the other
large contributing factors to The Dust Bowl were human induced. The uprooting of
native grasses by continuous harvesting from the soilwas a key, human caused factor
in the erosion of topsoil. Without native grasses, topsoil is insufficiently held in
place because the roots of the grasses functioned to support drought prevention and
protect against wind erosion. In addition to a lack of rain and an absence of the
means to preserve the little water there was, the boom and bust of the wheat market
also contributed to The Dust Bowl. There was first a large increase in demand for
wheat products, so farmers plowed more land in order to meet that demand.
However, as inventory of wheat increased, its value decreased. To try to make up
for the loss of money due to the decreasing value of wheat, farmers plowed even
more land. This feat would not have been possible without the mechanization of
farming. Large farming machines made it possible to do the work of a dozen men
in less time than it would have taken an independent worker. Relentlessly farming
the land made it so vulnerable to erosion that strong winds removed the topsoil,
which was falsely believed to be a perpetual resource, in the years 1930 1936.

A Report On The Attack Automation Strategy
http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~sunshine/publications/ccr.pdf
1a) An DDoS(Distributed Denial of Service) Attack consists of several phases firstly
the attacker recruits multiple agent machines which will be later on infected with the
attack code and further exploited. The infected machines can be used to further
recruit new agents. We can outline those phases as Recruit, Exploit, Infect and Use.
ATTACKAUTOMATION STRATEGY
The attack automation strategy stands for how much of the DDoS attack does an
attacker want to make automatic and how much to leave for manual control. The
strategy depends on the degree of automation of the phases of the attack. There are
three general automation degrees Manual, Automated and Semi Automated which are
explained as follows:
oManual
In that case, the hacker manually recruits machines by scanning remote ones for
vulnerabilities, breaks their security mechanisms, installs the prepared attack code
and then directs the attack. This type of a DDoS Attack has become really outdated
since lately all the recruitment phase has been automated.
Weak design consideration in terms of functionality and productivity.
oSemi Automated
In the Semi Automated DDoS attacks the DDoS network is made of a handler and an
agent machine. There is automation present for the Recruit, Exploit and Infect
phases. Through the communication between the handler and the agent, the attacker
specifies the attack type, the onset, the duration and the victims ID. The

Representation of Christianity in Charles Dickens Works
The representation of Christianity in Charles Dickens works was both debated and
largely overlooked by his contemporaries, particularly because of his lack of
representation of the views of the Established Church. In fact, Dickens voiced his
opposition to the practices of the Anglican Church. His negative representations of
Church officials, in many of his novels, pointed out what he felt were the hypocrisies
of the Church. Dickens was a liberal Christian and believed in a more humanitarian
view of Christianity. He wanted to remove religion from the high Church and place it
back into the lives of the common people. Dickens believed Christianity was ... Show

Dickens, a liberal Christian, viewed the dogma, teachings, and debates of the church
with disdain. For instance, in a letter to Miss Burdett Coutts, the headmistress of the
Home For Fallen Women, Dickens expressed what he believed to be a community
wide dissatisfaction with the Anglican Church for its indolent temporizing and its
miserable internal squabbles, [so much so] that [the congregation had] lost their
natural interests in the struggle (Johnson 185). Dickens was dissatisfied with the
Protestant church s (or any church s) use of text to claim religious authority for their
interpretation of the Bible (Ackroyd 506). Dickens believed these internal debates
were the cause of the people s disinterest in religion and thereby negatively affected
their faith in Christianity. He felt that the only way to set right these abuses of the
church was through religious reform (Johnson 185). Dickens was so adamant about
the necessity of Church reform that he advocated governmental intervention: when I
reflect upon all of this, in my unvarying faith that [Parliamentary] Reform is the only
true Preservation [of the Church] (Johnson 185). While some of Dickens
contemporaries believed his criticism of the church revealed anti Christian sentiment,
Dickens viewed his faith as deeper than that of the Established Church. He saw the
beliefs of the Established Church

There a lot of who people address the topic of racism and some of those people are
influences to the world, yet they use the topic of racism in a lot of the things they
say. For example there is the government who uses racism so they can excuse
human right abuses. With that there are many laws that are aimed at preventing
immigration of people of different color and different religion, culture etc.
Influencing or famous people aren t the only ones who use racism that spreads it.
There are parents who have beliefs that one race is better than the other. Those
parents are bad examples on their kids which causes a bad environment for the kids.

Gun Culture And The American Identity
Gun culture is engrained in the American identity; there are about 300 million guns
present in the United States, which is about one gun for every citizen (Birnbaum,
2013). While guns have a strong presence here, there have been an increasing
number of violent tragedies in which the assailant used firearms. On April 16, 2007,
Seung Hui Cho shot and killed 32 people on the Virginia Tech campus (Lipka 2008;
No Guns Left Behind, 2007). The question quickly became how do we stop guns
from coming on to post secondary campuses? to prevent such tragedies. The gun
debate has been around for decades, but only after the Virginia Tech Massacrehas the
focus increased (Lipka, 2008). Colleges and universities quickly placed their focus
on the topic of gun control. There is a great deal of confusion among institutions are
to what their rights are in developing and implementing firearms policies on campus
(Alger, 2008).
The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution states, A well regulated
Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep
and bear Arms, shall not be infringed (Amendment II, 1787), there is not explicitly
stated that determines how individual states should handle gun control in higher
education. The federal government has left it up to the states to decide and it varies
across the country (Alger, 2008). The major of states have developed legislation in
response to the recent gun tragedies that focuses on creating a safer
The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell Essay
One of the greatest qualities of humanity is the ability to respond to the circumstances

this quality into literature constantly with their novels and articles. The Most

and outrage Rainsford has for Zaroff. It expresses this by implying that Zaroff s

Should Companies Invest in Virtual Mentors?
Turbocharge your career by cultivating multiple channels for information flow
Having a mentor has always helped with professional development and career
advancement, but in today s complex workplace, one mentor won t do. To spark
innovation and ideapreneurship, employees often require relevant information on
multiple areas of expertise in real time. That s why there is a need for multiple
mentors and expertise from various domains. The good news is the rapid expansion
of social media inside and outside companies has made it possible for aspiring
leaders to hone their craft from the very best experts in many domains via the internet
or Knowledge Management (KM) systems. They can become your virtual mentors.
That is the finding of a study we conducted (financially supported by The SHRM
Foundation) of HCL Technologies (HCL). The India based IT consulting
organization, has over 103,696 employees distributed globally across its very own
delivery centers and client sites. HCL encourages them to use the KM and social
collaboration system, internally referred to as Ask HCL, Edna, arKMedes and

Today, you can follow and interact with experts on Twitter, blog and Q A sites such
as Quora and GitHub. In addition, organizations are investing time and money on

Ethnography Of The Blue House
Ethnography of the Blue House : Plano Day Labor Center While making the drive
on my way to school, my father decides to take a short detour to go pay his worker.
It is early in the morning and still very grey outside which facilitated my usual
slumber. This detour meant nothing more to me than simply that of a detour, but
it wasn t until I was suddenly awaken by the car being strangely rocked like that of
a small raft in the sea. Being nearly eight years old, I m instantly on high alert and
very confused. There is a man in the passenger seat saying hello to me as my dad
pays him for a honest day s worth in a moving job the day before, but surrounding
the car are about 25 men eagerly trying to speak with my father. Not only was my
early morning routine nap disrupted, I truly believed I woke up to a nightmare. As
we drove away, my dad laughed telling me to say goodbye to the blue house. After
this experience, I simply stated to my dad that I would never return to this place
ever again. I was legitimately horrified and pledged to never return. As a kid, I
could simply decide to ignore and choose to not care for what I had witnessed, but
as I grew up, curiosity and acquired knowledge promoted awareness. I simply
became intrigued, and decided to confront a childhood fear. I was not expecting for
this fear to then transform into compassion, but while gaining exceedingly more
information, I have grown a profound interest that I believe needs to be exposed to in
our society.
Theme Of Flowers In Chronicle Of A Death Foretold
One of the most universal symbols of beauty is the flower. Their delicate buds hold
such great beauty, while being so fragile and temporary. Despite their magnificence,
flowers must remain stationary. It is a prison, yet no one thinks beyond the
simplicity of a pretty flower. Like women, flowers are seen at face value without
any concern for the lack of freedom, opportunity, and expression they have. Women
are meant to be seen just how society expects and not any other way. In Chronicle of
a Death Foretold, female characters face the serious consequences of societal
expectations and views on sexuality. Gabriel Garcia Marquez uses the motif of
flowers to symbolize women and their virginity to demonstrate the confinement of
women in society.
The author Marquez uses character names to illustrate the societal preference of
virginity. For example, the character Flora Miguel, who enjoyed a certain floral
quality, is named after flowers (66). By using curious diction with the word certain,
Marquez points to an almost undefinable yet intriguing feature. Since the narrator is a
man, it demonstrates male interest in women s sexuality. Because the author says it
is due to floral quality, the interest comes from virginity specifically. Further proving
the value of virginity, Divina Flor exemplifies this ideal. Divina Flor is not simply
named after flowers, but rather her name has a more specific meaning. When
translated to English, her name means divine flower. Marquez names her
A Report On New Zealand Essay
Background Overview New Zealand is an island country with a population of 4.4
million. Auckland is the country s largest city with a population of 1.4 million
people. It is one of the fastest growing cities in Asia Pacific, the on going population
growth in the region will continuously generate economic growth over the short
/medium term. Statistics suggest that Auckland requires between 9000 and 11000
new dwellings every year to meet the latent demand due to population growth.
Auckland has a particularly significant issue on housing affordability because land
supply is tightly confined by a strict urban/rural boundary, development rules and
consents are restrictive, and immigrants (inward and external) are attracted to the
jobs and natural amenities in the region. Rapidly rising rates of house price inflation
have been reflective of a demand supply imbalance. 1.Introduction Auckland is New
Zealand s largest residential property market. There has been a physical shortage of
houses, particularly in Auckland. Strengthening economic growth and migration
inflows as well as loose credit conditions multiplied demand in construction sector.
More recently, the Official Cash Rate (OCR) has been increased from 2.5 percent to
3 percent for the purpose of preventing general inflation pressures in the broader
economy. Housing supply conditions have also started to improve with a recovery in

How violence made its way through children s literature? This is a difficult
question that requires critical thinking as to produce a personal satisfying answer.
In the early prints of fairy tales violence has played an important role in children s
literature. And writers often used this tales to teach or convey a moral, political or
social message to the readers. Times have changed since Perrault s grim and his
suggestive tales of Little Red Riding Hood or the Grimm s adaptations with a less
violent context. However our perspective and efforts to differentiate good from evil

Angelman Syndrome Stereotypes
Usually when someone thinks of a disability, they think of a lifetime effect. In
reality you never know what a person is really going through. This is where of all
stereotypes come in. Stereotypes are opinions or statements usually made based on
truth but overly exaggerated. A stereotype is usually changed to a perspective
where it is a assumption of someone s personal opinion. As to a misconception, it is
a falsely incorrect view or statement that comes from no truth at all. That is why in
today s world, it is very difficult to express yourself when many people are coming

was also asked if anyone has ever told her that her son would not be able to do
anything in particular but has overcome that statement and done it, and she said that
doctors have told her that her son would never be able to understand her, but she
says that her son has proven them wrong and when she calls out his name, he sure
does understand and gives her his attention. This is proof that people could think that
someone may never be able to accomplish something based on the fact that experts,
like doctors, say something will never happen, but they are wrong. This reflects back
to stereotypes, because someone else with Angelman syndrome was never able to

The Female Sex Is A Crucial Part Of Creation And...
In all aspects of nature, the female sex is a crucial part of creation and development
of offspring. In Frankenstein, Mary Shelley explores the significance of women to
the protagonist, Victor Frankenstein , as he surpasses the woman s role in the
production of life. Besides the major themes of abandonment and loss in the novel
Frankenstein, there is an ironic focus on the female role throughout the plot. The
disregard of women s roles in society and by Frankenstein show the importance that
these women actually played on his life. Frequently, the passive actions and ideally
domestic expressions of women s actions led to some of the largest events of the
novel that affected Victor Frankenstein the greatest. Through three important female...

situation is greatly marked by the death of her father. At this time period, it was
very uncommon and not socially acceptable for women to be independent. But
when the death of her father came, Frankenstein described how his father came

IMPLEMENTING ALTERNATE TECHNOLOGIES TO IMPROVE THE POWER
HANDLING CAPACITY OF ALL Si MEMS PHASE SHIFTERS
Abstract: This proposal paper analyze and suggest the alternate methods to reduce
the heat dissipation and power consumption of MEMS phase shifters while they are
being used in the real time environment i.e., in a closed loop operation. So many
advancements in the MEMS technology make the MEMS production very effective,
but still there are some drawbacks in its structure and in its performance, which pulls
the system efficiency to down. Self and mutual inductions are the two major run time
defects which affects the performances of the MEMS devices and increases its power
consumption when there is a physical data link between two blocks. If the proper
steps are taken then, the measurement results can range up to 40dBm at 75 GHz or
even more. Hence by using alternate methods for the communication between the two
blocks using PIC 16f778 controller we can reduce the temperature rise in all Si phase
shifters, which is 20 30 times lesser than the conventional MEMS phase shifters.
Also by implementing this idea we can reduce the fabrication cost and we can make
a great revolution in the field of embedded systems.
Key terms: Microwave, phase shifters, optic fiber, radio frequency micro electro
mechanical systems.

isolated from Andrographis paniculata is the major labdane diterpenoid. It exhibits
anti inflammatory and anti cancer activities (Hidalgo et al. 2013). The leave is
found to be containing the highest amount of andrographolide while the seed

The Great Gatsby as a Criticism of American Society
The Great Gatsby as a Criticism of American Society In the novel The Great
Gatsby, author F. Scott Fitzgerald criticizes American society through the eyes of
his narrator Nick Caraway, as he watches the downfall and pathetic lives of what
most consider achievers of the American Dream. Fitzgerald s criticism of American
Society is more prominently proven by his Harsh view of America s materialistic
standard of living, the tragic death of Gatsby, the negligence displayed by Gatsby s
friends, the reveal of Gatsby s innocent childhood, and Fitzgerald s personal life
experiences. All lead the reader to see Fitzgerald s unforgiving blow towards
American Society. Fitzgerald first introduces the mysterious Gatsby through the

Daisy ends up killing Myrtle accidentally in Gatsby s car, and Tom tells Myrtles
husband that it was in fact Gatsby who was driving the vehicle. This leads Wilson,
Myrtles husband, to go to Gatsby s estate, murder Gatsby and then kill himself. It
was after we started with Gatsby toward the house that the Gardner saw Wilson s
body a little way off in the grass, and the holocaust was complete. (Fitzgerald 162).
Ultimately, the wealthy Gatsby ends up dead never reuniting with the woman he
lived to impress. The holocaust the novel refers to is symbolic of the death of
Gatsby s fantasy life in which money can by him his love Daisy and his friends.
After the killing is complete to people thought of to be Gatsby s friends flee before
the funeral. But she and Tom had gone away early that afternoon, and taken
baggage with them. (Fitzgerald 164). This quote supports the idea of the false
reality most Americans during the 1920 s lived in. Tom and Daisy break away
from the holocaust and simply move on with their pointless lives making others
clean up the mess they left. Nick Caraway and his judgmental narration ultimately
allow one to see the flaws and corruption of American society as he responds to the
events of Gatsby and Wilson s death, and Tom and Daisy s actions following the
casualties. After the murder of Gatsby and suicide of Wilson, the book then goes into
Gatsby s funeral service where none
Christian Warning Metaphors
The warning passages of Hebrews (2:1 4; 3:7 4:11; 5:11 6:12; 10:19 39; 12:14 29)
have become a debate of many scholars regarding their interpretations and their
theological significance for Christians during the author s era and the application of
the message to Christians today. The heated debate has been the topic of this book as
writers such as Grant R. Osborne, Buist M Fanning, Gareth Lee Cockerill, and
Randall C. Gleason make attempts to exegete the scriptures to bring clarity to what
its true meaning could imply. There are many unknowns regarding this book as it
relates to author and audience. However, these four writers expounded on issues that
are pertinent to understanding the author s message as he warns, exhort, and

His utilization of the scriptures and other perspectives from other viewpoints is
impressive because he acknowledges that while he expressed his views and
understanding of the authors intent his views can be one of several viable options on
the subject of apostasy. Furthermore, as he concludes he evaluates several other
options regarding the subject. He is very critical of the notions relating to the thought
that these warning messages are merely referring to one losing the reward of not
being committed or persevering. Moreover, he examines the possibility that these
warnings refer to a community and not an individual which he quickly refute because
the makeup of a community involves individuals. Furthermore, he examines the
Calvinist approach of election and quickly discard s this option for fear that based on
the we expression the election option nullifies the recipients of not being true
believers even though the message is directed to the church. To Osborne credit he
conclusively discovered through the materials presented by the Hebrews writer that
true believers are in danger of committing apostasy and it is an unpardonable sin that
results in eternal judgement. A Classical Reformed View (Buist M. Fanning) Fanning

Female Pattern Baldness
Being a young women suffering from hair loss is one of the worst thing in life. A
woman s hair is the essence of her beauty, and the affects of hair loss are a
crippling blow to a women s confidence. However statistics show that only 27% of
women deal with hair loss before the age of 50, that being said most women under
the age of 50 will never have to go through the emotional trauma of hairloss.
Unfortunately for me, I was had to deal with hair loss under the age of 50. It was
very humiliating experience but some how I found a way to over come this.
Through my diligent research on the subject, now I have a head of beautiful and
long hair once again. I found that the best way to fight hair loss as women is to
first know the reasons for why it happened and how to deal with it. The reason for
this is because we are all unique in every way and to just research on one way it can
happen is not smart and it can be counter productive.
The misconception many women have when it comes to dealing with hair loss is that
it has to be hereditary but this is very far from the truth. The truth is female pattern

An out of balance level of the female hormones such as androgen and estrogen are
most commonly linked causes of hair loss within women. Another hormone is
Dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is considered a male hormone but women also
have a small amount that runs through their blood, some higher than others. When
a female inherits hair follicles that are supersensitive to DHT, they may start to
lose hair just like men do. The best way to combat this problem is to start doing
more aerobic exercises. Doing aerobics is a natural and healthy way for lowering
DHT production. Another way is trying a legitimate hair loss treatment but this can a
very expensive proposition because I can personally testify that 90% of the hair loss

Descriptive Essay About Becoming A Zoo
Fear wafted off of me as sweat trickled down my neck. Three interviewers towered
over me, bombarding me with questions such as, What would you do in this
situation? and What would you do if..? Each question was a test for my future at
the Phoenix Zoo, and it would not be an easy pass. I tried to keep myself from
fidgeting, but the desire to become a Zoo Teen for Harmony Farm caused nails to
be plucked and memories of how I got here to flood in. A year prior to the interview,
I had sent in a job application to the PhoenixZoo with questionsfilled in half
heartedly and two recommendation forms. It was no different from everything else
in life. Never putting in all my effort always got me near the top spots, so I saw no
need to waste all my effort on something such as the volunteer spot, until I received
an email a few months later regarding the position.
I ate dinner in my usual spot on the couch with my family when I heard a ding
emitting from my phone beside me. I knew that sound. The sound was an email that
was just delivered, and raced to open it up. Sure enough it the Phoenix Zoo regarding
the news on the opportunity for me. I scanned each line looking for the words
Congratulations! but instead read the dreadful words of We regret to inform you. I
stared at the screen in disbelief, wondering what went wrong. Before I realized it,
tears had started to trickle down my cheeks. My parents stopped eating and my
mother asked, What s wrong?
I simply stared at her
Essay on Henry David Thoreau s Integrity
Henry David Thoreau s Integrity
Although his actions were admirable and act as evidence to integrity, the writings
of Henry David Thoreau and Emerson reveal a haughty and pretentious individual.
Thoreau s courage was noble. He was quick to immerse himself in his beliefs and
abandon any obligation to social norms despite the risk in damaging his reputation.
His rejection of societal limitations and steadfast individualism was truly
commendable, however, his mannerisms were extremely rude. He cast aside all tact
and consideration of others because he was so consumed with himself. He coldly
and fully stated his opinion without affecting to believe that it was the opinion of the
company. It was of no consequence, if every one present ... Show more content on

This can be deduced as being pompous and stubborn or generous and independent.
He was self sufficient but this strength can be somewhat aggravating. Thoreau felt so
superior to his peers that he denied any aid in order to maintain his aloof character.
That way, he never owed his accomplishments to anybody. There was nobody to be
thankful for. He seldom thanked colleges for their service to him, holding them in
small esteem, whilst yet his debt to them was important. (p. 1235) Every success was
attributed to solely his own achievements and never that of another institution.
In that same realm, Thoreau keeps a distance with the reader and speaks with a
holier than thou air. He is consumed with his experiences and idolizes himself
because he allows no respect for the rest of society. He treats himself as royalty in
that no other individual could compare to his triumphs. Actually, the laboring man
has not leisure for a true integrity day by day; he cannot afford to sustain the manliest
relations to men; his labor would be depreciated in the market. He has no time to be
any thing but a machine. (p. 1809) He is denouncing the average working man and
offending the majority of humanity.
When describing Walden, Thoreau constantly makes references to celestial beings
and persons of royal
Essay about Discuss the way in which Sheila changes...
Discuss the way in which Sheila changes throughout the play
The Birlings are a middle Edwardian class family. The play is set in
1912, in the house of the Birling family in the North Midlands. At that time a
woman s role was considered inferior to the men s as it was always presumed that
the man was the head of the house. Women were also not thought of as being able to
take part in serious conversations, and that they needed to be protected.
At the beginning of the play, Sheila is described as young, attractive, girly and
naГЇve. Also she has just become engaged. This is made known through the stage
directions and how she reacts to certain situations. At the start of the play, Sheila
shows her character by being very

She feels this way because she has been busy enjoying her self in her self obsessed
world and she hasn t been considering what is going on in the real world.
As she finds out that her father is involved she thinks that his behaviour was wrong,
as she says But these girls aren t cheap labour
they re people. She sees Eva as a girl, not just as a way of making more money.
Sheila is ready to criticise her father on his behaviour and although she is foolish and
selfish, she has the potential to change. At the time, some big business men were
capitalist employers who only cared about their self interests.
When Sheila finds out that she helped to contribute to Eva s depression by getting
her fired from Milwards, she instantly realises that she was in the wrong and if I
could help her now, I would .
This is because she got her fired simply because she was jealous and in a bad temper
and quickly resents what she did when she finds out the effect it had.
Later on, the Inspector is keen to keep Sheila in the dining room to hear the rest of
the questioning because if she leaves us now, and doesn t hear any more, then she ll
feel she s entirely to blame, she ll be alone with her responsibility . By this it is
meant that if
Sheila goes now, she will believe the suicide was all her fault, when each member of
her family had a factor in the suicide of Eva.
Sheila is aware of the mystery surrounding the Inspector though thinks
Analysis Of Punch Drunk
Punch drunk is a British company that performs a wide variety of theatrical
performances and transforms them into the wild and the peculiar. It was founded
in 2000 (En.wikipedia.org. (2017) by Artist and Director Felix Barrett, who was
award an MBE on July 5th 2017 for his work in the theatre industry (Anon, (2017).
The Company has been producing shows for 17 years, taking classical storytelling
and adding their own twist on the story. The stories are then turned into real life
pieces that are not staged in a typical classical theatre, but in various locations that are
well suited to each part of the story for example, an old warehouse or an ancient
asylum. This gives the audience a sensory perception of the world around them and
presents them with a joyful experience of witnessing a story told in a way that s not
just the lifeless classical proscenium arch stage layout and more of a place where they
can watch the action at different angles taking audience awareness out of the picture
and applying the Fourth wall technique used by Dennis Diderot (En.wikipedia.org.
(2017). This keeps the audience on edge and scares ordinary audiences away from

Defintion Essay
Defintion Essay Is it Possible to Define Art?
Art is the intentional use of some medium to communicate emotions or ideas between
minds. Some combination of the five senses is used to conduct information, so art
may take the form of music, painting, sculpture, dance, and others. Art may be
collaborative, as with the presentation of a symphony, which may involve a
composer, a conductor, players, and a lighting crewall working to create the art of
the presentation. Also, art occurs in at least one level of abstraction removed from
reality, a representation of the real thing.
There is no requirement of beauty in art. Indeed, some of the highest quality in art is
attained by some of the ugliest things. An example is the film, ... Show more content

When I experience Samuel Barber s Adagio with my brother, the message I receive
is clear, but it is not the same as the message my brother receives. It is likely that
Samuel Barber intended neither. Nevertheless, the piece is effective art, since it
communicates messages.
Even so, there must have been some intention with which Barber wrote the piece. In
general, art must be the creation of a mind, or group of minds, with at least one
purpose. As such, art is never an accident, whereas it may have some accidental
effects on certain members of an audience. The requirement that art have some
purpose from the artist rejects the notion that computers can create art. Computers
may be used as a medium for people to create art, and computers may create what
resembles art, but computers cannot create art.
Another characteristic of art is its necessary element of impracticality. That is not
to say that artistic things cannot be practical; rather, there must be some part of
the piece that does more than simply serve a function. For example, ordering a
cheeseburger at McDonald s is an intentional use of the medium of a voice to
communicate a message (the desire for food) between two minds (the customer
and the server). However, it seems somewhat clear that this extreme case does not
constitute a work of art. Still, it would be possible to compose a vocal piece of music
that qualifies as art, even if the words are still, I d like a Big Mac, please. The art
enters

Riel was a multifaceted figure in Canadian history, known for his role as a MГ©tis leader in the Red River and North-West Rebellions, as well as his contributions to the MГ©tis cause and the development of Manitoba. However, opinions on Riel vary widely, with some viewing him as a hero who fought for the rights of the MГ©tis people, while others see him as a traitor and a rebel against the Canadian government. To effectively write an essay on Louis Riel, one must navigate through historical accounts, political perspectives, cultural analyses, and legal interpretations. It requires thorough research into primary sources, such as Riel's own writings and speeches, as well as secondary sources from historians and scholars who have studied his life and impact. Additionally, understanding the broader historical context of the Canadian westward expansion, indigenous relations, and colonial policies is essential for providing a comprehensive analysis. Furthermore, crafting a well-rounded argument about Riel's significance involves grappling with nuanced questions about identity, nationalism, justice, and sovereignty. • 2. Comparing The Plot Scenes In Hamlet And Gregory Doran s... William Shakespeare s Hamlet has been portrayed several times during the past centuries but what distinguishes each piece of work is how the directors approached the play. Hamlet without doubt is a troubled man overcome with the death of his father and the discovery that us uncle now step father murdered his late father, the king of Denmark. Kenneth Branaghs and Gregory Doran s portrayals of the famous closet scene demonstrates two extremes of Hamlets relationship with his mother Gertrude. Branagh s version of the closet scene uses bright pastel colours such as blue, pink and red to show happiness and innocence. The use of light blue hints the youth of a child as it is often associated with the birth of boys in today s society. The only exception is Hamlet, as he is dressed all in black. His black clothing is not only used as a way to signify Hamlet s mourning of his father but also as a way to represent how Hamlet himself is corrupt. This contrasts with Gertrude s appearance who is dressed neatly in golden. Gold which symbolizes wealth and power is used to describe Gertrude s position of power in the kingdom. Additionally, the golden dress represents purity and demonstrates how Gertrude is oblivious to the corruption taking place in her kingdom. On the other hand, Doran s version uses much darker tones such as dark blues, silvers and golds. The use of silver and gold demonstrates the wealth and power the royal family has over themselves and society while the dark blue

However an acute cough that includes a fever greater than 101 degrees Fahrenheit, chest pain, sob, and purulent or dark sputum may indicate a more serious illness such as bacterial pneumonia (Dains, Baumann, Scheibel, 2016). • 6. Three Kings Day Short Story The air rang with laughter and the festive sounds of families celebrating the eve of Three Kings Day. The aroma of suckling pigs basted with adobo and scented with garlic and oregano, roasting on spits above ground level fogГіns, tangoed with the music of Celia Cruz, Mercedes Sosa and the Afro Cuban rhythm of Tito Puente. Shrieking children playing come find me competed with the reverberating slapping of dominoes against wooden picnic tables. Adding to the festive air was the spicy aroma of chicken and rice gumbo lightly bubbling inside a large cauldron. While familia were preparing other dishes, sipping cold drinks, rotating the roasting sucklings, admonishing children, or slamming dominoes, amid the shade of FlamboyГЎnt trees, eighty one year old Concha Barreto Torres slowly rocked back and forth in her favorite cane rocker, expertly cutting off the ends, then slitting the skins of green plantains. The music industry s role in promoting negative music has been a hot topic for many years. What is too often under reported is how young people, including incarcerated youth, are directly impacted by the music. That quote came from an article called Seb is Hip Hop . All a person has to do is turn on their radio to a mainstream station and they to can get taste of the carnage. Rap and hip hop are two of many genres that get a lot of attention for their violence, drug use, and degrading sexism towards women. • 8. A Report On Aircraft Fuel Efficiency Report on research Project. Abstract: Aircraft fuel efficiency has improved significantly since the beginning of the jet era in the 1960s, and from 1970 to 2000 total energy intensity was reduced by more than 60%. Fuel burn is a key determinant of aviation economics given that fuel costs account for up to 35% of total aviation costs. The aviation industry has therefore focused on fuel efficiency improvement through engine and aircraft innovation which has resulted in a reduction in total energy intensity of more than 60% since 1970. There are a number of evolutionary technologies that could help achieve further fuel efficiency improvements in new aircraft over the next 20 years. Aviation engineers have been working on silent aircraft and using 3D systems in aircraft to make precise aircraft design which will be very useful for cargo purposes and for travellers to reach their destinations. Students of Cambridge university are also been working on silent aircraft which will reduce the aircraft noise and improve the fuel efficiency. I set out to analysis that main sections. Scope for improvement in aircraft fuel efficiency Scenario for improvement in annual fleet fuel efficiency Historical fuel efficiency improvements and material used in aircraft Future improvement from evolutionary technology innovations Silent aircraft Initiative design for the future Introduction: Wilbur and Orville Wright were the pioneers of aviation. In 1903, they had made a history in
  • 9. Nursing Budgeting Process Paper Budgeting is an important managerial process to plan and control the finances of a unit. There are multiple factors that impact the nurse budgeting process and each organization has its own approach in the budgeting process. The nursing leader has the fiscal responsibility to balance the long term fiscal needs of the organization with the patients short term health care needs .The final budget is usually the result of a compromise of these factors that affect the organization. s The purpose of this paper is to discuss nursing budget in the context of health care nursing leadership. Question 1. Describes the various internal and external forces that impact the development of the budget in a healthcare facility (like the hospital)?... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The internal factors are those that impact the provision of health care on a daily basis (Finkler et al., 2007). These factors are health care staffing, wages for regular and temporary health care providers, medical equipment, office supplies and repair and maintenance (Gallagher Hodge, 2012). These factors fall under the umbrella of the operating budget. According to Dunham Taylor Pinczuk (2015), the operating budget cover the day to day cost of the unit, and represents best guess of costs over an incoming period (Dunham Taylor Pinczuk, 2015). Acording to Finkler, Kovner and Jones (2007), the largest element of nursing operating budget is usually health care staffing. The authors added that nursing personnel costs dominate largely because the clinical care provided by nurses is essential to the process of providing health care services (Finkler, et al., 2007). Health care staffing budget is prioritized according to the immediate staffing need in the nursing unit. High acuity levels often require an increase in the utilization of licensed nursing personnel , which relates to increased salary expenditures. For example, the intensive care unit will generally require a higher staff to patient ratio than a regular nursing floor and will incur a much larger nursing expense than the regular

Wilson s perspective of Dante Alighieri as a poet, as well as a madman According to (Wilson 2011), Dante Alighieri, author of the Divine Comedy, is a man whom resembled both a poet and a madman. • 11. The Last Days Of Summer The last few days of summer are always unforgettable. As the school year draws near I find myself cherishing every moment of summer fun. Everyone is staying up late and sleeping all day, except for me. On this particular August morning, I was struggling to get up for my team s daily soccer practice. Once dressed I was actually feeling pretty excited about the day. The twenty minute car ride flew by and Mom dropped Anna and I off at the soccer field. I stepped out of the car and the smoldering heat hit me like a freight train and I had to remind myself that practicing is for the best. Five minutes went by and resting was over. Luckily though a shooting drill came next. On my first shot I used great force and my laces to send the ball in. It flew up towards the very top right corner of the goal frame but my effort my not enough. The team goal keeper leaped with all her might, knocking the ball out of play and diving onto the ground making an unpleasant thud. Although it was a good shot, I felt defeated and as I got back in line, the frustration set in. I stepped up for my next shot brimming with determination and made the goal, my confidence restored. After a few more rounds of shooting we were given another water break. Time was passing and the humidity was rising. This time the water just tasted like any other water, but I was still satisfied. As practice was drawing towards the end, it was time for our last activity: scrimmaging. It s what I looked forward to almost every day. While coach began picking teams, I prayed my team wouldn t have to wear bibs. Of course we did, which is just my luck. The stench of the bibs was so bad it could have knocked me down. But as I pulled one over my head, I pretended it was a brand new blouse. I was so proud to be on the varsity team, I would ve worn anything. Then I ran out to my

In the video gaming market, though, it was really in consumers hands. Nintendo has always needed to adapt to survive in the market. Nintendo always needed to be on top; it was a company that needed to be ahead of the rest. Nintendo had to set new standards, or improve on an existing product or idea. The license was with an American company, Walt Disney, to make playing cards with Disney characters on them. It turned out to be a good move for Nintendo, as Nintendo s market now included young people and families; soon their playing card profits sky rocketed (Company History). Nintendo s president, Hiroshi Yamauchi, wanted the company to expand faster; he wanted to be able to compete in a bigger portion of the market. Hiroshi came up with his own ideas to do so: individually portioned instant rice, a taxi service, and a love hotel that charged rooms by the hour (Game Over). Hiroshi later trashed these services and products to focus back on the part of the company that succeeded all the rest, the playing cards. Investigating Gas Chromatography Emily Whitsett Lab Partner: Madison Parker CHE 448 Instrumental Analysis April 3rd, 2015 Abstract The purpose of the lab was to separate a mixture containing methanol, acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, ethyl acetate, propyl acetate and 2 pentanone using gas chromatography. The effect of temperature and pressure variance of the Mini GC on the chromatogram was analyzed and the best temperature pressure profile was determined based on the results. Temperature programming was determined to give better separation than using a constant temperature. The gas chromatogram was analyzed and peaks were identified based on their behavior within the column. The first two peaks were identified as either acetone or methanol. The next two peaks were identified as 2 pentanone and Methyl Ethyl Ketone and the last two peaks were identified as Ethyl Acetate and Propyl Acetate. Introduction The purpose of the lab was to separate a mixture using gas chromatography and analyze the produced chromatogram. Also, the effect of temperature variance of the Mini GC on the chromatogram was analyzed and the best temperature pressure profile was determined based on the results. Gas Chromatography is a technique used to separate a mixture of volatile substances with different boiling points through a coated capillary or column (1). Separation is affected by many factors but generally occurs due to the molecular size of the components in the

Once Lenin became a statesman he lost focus on how to run a country, and he lacked a plan. Lenin s greatest achievements were in fact during the struggle for power in Russia, and not during his time as leader of the USSR. His leadership in the revolutionary Bolshevik party served as an important model for later revolutionary leaders of the 20th century. Lenin s works made important contributions to the development of revolutionary socialist theory. Many may feel that Lenin had little impact on the rest of the world, but this is frankly just not true. Through the Bolshevik Revolution, Lenin brought about the USSR and the basic idea of communism. Lenin had bright ideas for the future of the USSR, and was disappointed when he saw people like Joseph Stalin turning the nation into an controlling dictatorship. Lenin thoroughly enjoyed bringing about the idea of Leninism to the Russian republic. In the postscript to his brochure, The State and Revolution, Lenin wrote, It is more pleasant and useful to go through the experience of revolution than to write about it. Vladimir Leninwas most likely one of the few men that could have executed the Bolshevik Revolution successfully. Lenin s devotion to his ideals was shown by the fact that he continued to run the revolution even when he was exile. Lenin was actually the only successful revolutionary to

Another way that I have been strengthened was through discussions and sharing blogs with my colleagues. On the other hand, researching professional early childhood educationtopics and viewing multimedia presentations were beneficial to my professional growth as well. I felt that the multimedia were definitely the meat of this course. Therefore, I am knowledgeable with information than before. These differences are very obvious when it comes to being in the classroom and assigning projects, and observing that some students need more help than others. It is relatively easy to label a student with the Situational Leadership Model designed by K. Blanchard, P. Zigarmi, and D. Zigarmi. The model consists of four developmental levels, which ultimately decides the leadership style to be either directing, coaching, supporting, or delegating (Northouse, 2016). When so many students need high direction and high support, the educator will not only be spread thin, but it will be quite a challenge to improve

  • 28. Causes Of The Dust Bowl Previously, The Dust Bowl was thought to have been caused by completely natural phenomena, without influence from human practices. Even though the southward shift of the jetstream that would have brought rain was a natural occurrence, the other large contributing factors to The Dust Bowl were human induced. The uprooting of native grasses by continuous harvesting from the soilwas a key, human caused factor in the erosion of topsoil. Without native grasses, topsoil is insufficiently held in place because the roots of the grasses functioned to support drought prevention and protect against wind erosion. In addition to a lack of rain and an absence of the means to preserve the little water there was, the boom and bust of the wheat market also contributed to The Dust Bowl. There was first a large increase in demand for wheat products, so farmers plowed more land in order to meet that demand. However, as inventory of wheat increased, its value decreased. To try to make up for the loss of money due to the decreasing value of wheat, farmers plowed even more land. This feat would not have been possible without the mechanization of farming. Large farming machines made it possible to do the work of a dozen men in less time than it would have taken an independent worker. Relentlessly farming the land made it so vulnerable to erosion that strong winds removed the topsoil, which was falsely believed to be a perpetual resource, in the years 1930 1936. As a result of the removal

The infected machines can be used to further recruit new agents. We can outline those phases as Recruit, Exploit, Infect and Use. ATTACKAUTOMATION STRATEGY The attack automation strategy stands for how much of the DDoS attack does an attacker want to make automatic and how much to leave for manual control. The strategy depends on the degree of automation of the phases of the attack. There are three general automation degrees Manual, Automated and Semi Automated which are explained as follows: oManual In that case, the hacker manually recruits machines by scanning remote ones for vulnerabilities, breaks their security mechanisms, installs the prepared attack code and then directs the attack. This type of a DDoS Attack has become really outdated since lately all the recruitment phase has been automated. Weak design consideration in terms of functionality and productivity. oSemi Automated In the Semi Automated DDoS attacks the DDoS network is made of a handler and an agent machine. There is automation present for the Recruit, Exploit and Infect phases. Through the communication between the handler and the agent, the attacker specifies the attack type, the onset, the duration and the victims ID. The

The good news is the rapid expansion of social media inside and outside companies has made it possible for aspiring leaders to hone their craft from the very best experts in many domains via the internet or Knowledge Management (KM) systems. They can become your virtual mentors. That is the finding of a study we conducted (financially supported by The SHRM Foundation) of HCL Technologies (HCL). The India based IT consulting organization, has over 103,696 employees distributed globally across its very own delivery centers and client sites. HCL encourages them to use the KM and social collaboration system, internally referred to as Ask HCL, Edna, arKMedes and MeMe, to help each other and share their expertise. Today, you can follow and interact with experts on Twitter, blog and Q A sites such as Quora and GitHub. In addition, organizations are investing time and money on social media tools. Knowledge sharing networks are not brand new, of course. Communities of practice and BPs virtual networks

It is early in the morning and still very grey outside which facilitated my usual slumber. This detour meant nothing more to me than simply that of a detour, but it wasn t until I was suddenly awaken by the car being strangely rocked like that of a small raft in the sea. Being nearly eight years old, I m instantly on high alert and very confused. There is a man in the passenger seat saying hello to me as my dad pays him for a honest day s worth in a moving job the day before, but surrounding the car are about 25 men eagerly trying to speak with my father. Not only was my early morning routine nap disrupted, I truly believed I woke up to a nightmare. As we drove away, my dad laughed telling me to say goodbye to the blue house. After this experience, I simply stated to my dad that I would never return to this place ever again. I was legitimately horrified and pledged to never return. As a kid, I could simply decide to ignore and choose to not care for what I had witnessed, but as I grew up, curiosity and acquired knowledge promoted awareness. I simply became intrigued, and decided to confront a childhood fear. I was not expecting for this fear to then transform into compassion, but while gaining exceedingly more information, I have grown a profound interest that I believe needs to be exposed to in our society.
  • 37. Theme Of Flowers In Chronicle Of A Death Foretold One of the most universal symbols of beauty is the flower. Their delicate buds hold such great beauty, while being so fragile and temporary. Despite their magnificence, flowers must remain stationary. It is a prison, yet no one thinks beyond the simplicity of a pretty flower. Like women, flowers are seen at face value without any concern for the lack of freedom, opportunity, and expression they have. Women are meant to be seen just how society expects and not any other way. In Chronicle of a Death Foretold, female characters face the serious consequences of societal expectations and views on sexuality. Gabriel Garcia Marquez uses the motif of flowers to symbolize women and their virginity to demonstrate the confinement of women in society. The author Marquez uses character names to illustrate the societal preference of virginity. For example, the character Flora Miguel, who enjoyed a certain floral quality, is named after flowers (66). By using curious diction with the word certain, Marquez points to an almost undefinable yet intriguing feature. Since the narrator is a man, it demonstrates male interest in women s sexuality. Because the author says it is due to floral quality, the interest comes from virginity specifically. Further proving the value of virginity, Divina Flor exemplifies this ideal. Divina Flor is not simply named after flowers, but rather her name has a more specific meaning. When translated to English, her name means divine flower. Marquez names her

Auckland is the country s largest city with a population of 1.4 million people. It is one of the fastest growing cities in Asia Pacific, the on going population growth in the region will continuously generate economic growth over the short /medium term. Statistics suggest that Auckland requires between 9000 and 11000 new dwellings every year to meet the latent demand due to population growth. Auckland has a particularly significant issue on housing affordability because land supply is tightly confined by a strict urban/rural boundary, development rules and consents are restrictive, and immigrants (inward and external) are attracted to the jobs and natural amenities in the region. Rapidly rising rates of house price inflation have been reflective of a demand supply imbalance. 1.Introduction Auckland is New Zealand s largest residential property market. There has been a physical shortage of houses, particularly in Auckland. Strengthening economic growth and migration inflows as well as loose credit conditions multiplied demand in construction sector. More recently, the Official Cash Rate (OCR) has been increased from 2.5 percent to 3 percent for the purpose of preventing general inflation pressures in the broader economy. Housing supply conditions have also started to improve with a recovery in residential construction, centred in Auckland. These factors are all working to reduce the

This is a difficult question that requires critical thinking as to produce a personal satisfying answer. In the early prints of fairy tales violence has played an important role in children s literature. In Frankenstein, Mary Shelley explores the significance of women to the protagonist, Victor Frankenstein , as he surpasses the woman s role in the production of life. Besides the major themes of abandonment and loss in the novel Frankenstein, there is an ironic focus on the female role throughout the plot. The disregard of women s roles in society and by Frankenstein show the importance that these women actually played on his life. She procured plain work; she plaited straw; and by various means contrived to earn a pittance scarcely sufficient to support life. (Shelley). The irony of this situation is greatly marked by the death of her father. At this time period, it was very uncommon and not socially acceptable for women to be independent. But when the death of her father came, Frankenstein described how his father came like a protecting spirit to this poor girl and how he took Caroline away and placed her under the protection of a relation (Shelley). The likeliness of this situation sounds greatly exaggerated. For months, Caroline took the financial burden upon herself. Not only did she tend to her father during his illness, but she was forced to take her extra time to support them both. Frankenstein depicts Alphonse as rescuing Caroline after her father passed, and portraying her as a kind of damsel in distress who is unable to care for herself. After Alphonse rescues Caroline from where she was left to fend for herself, he takes her to live with his family where they will take care of

IMPLEMENTING ALTERNATE TECHNOLOGIES TO IMPROVE THE POWER HANDLING CAPACITY OF ALL Si MEMS PHASE SHIFTERS Abstract: This proposal paper analyze and suggest the alternate methods to reduce the heat dissipation and power consumption of MEMS phase shifters while they are being used in the real time environment i.e., in a closed loop operation. So many advancements in the MEMS technology make the MEMS production very effective, but still there are some drawbacks in its structure and in its performance, which pulls the system efficiency to down. Self and mutual inductions are the two major run time defects which affects the performances of the MEMS devices and increases its power consumption when there is a physical data link between two blocks. If the proper steps are taken then, the measurement results can range up to 40dBm at 75 GHz or even more. Hence by using alternate methods for the communication between the two blocks using PIC 16f778 controller we can reduce the temperature rise in all Si phase shifters, which is 20 30 times lesser than the conventional MEMS phase shifters. Also by implementing this idea we can reduce the fabrication cost and we can make a great revolution in the field of embedded systems. Key terms: Microwave, phase shifters, optic fiber, radio frequency micro electro mechanical systems. I. Some combination of the five senses is used to conduct information, so art may take the form of music, painting, sculpture, dance, and others. Art may be collaborative, as with the presentation of a symphony, which may involve a composer, a conductor, players, and a lighting crewall working to create the art of the presentation. Also, art occurs in at least one level of abstraction removed from reality, a representation of the real thing. There is no requirement of beauty in art. Nevertheless, the piece is effective art, since it communicates messages. Even so, there must have been some intention with which Barber wrote the piece. In general, art must be the creation of a mind, or group of minds, with at least one purpose. As such, art is never an accident, whereas it may have some accidental effects on certain members of an audience. The requirement that art have some purpose from the artist rejects the notion that computers can create art. Computers may be used as a medium for people to create art, and computers may create what resembles art, but computers cannot create art. Another characteristic of art is its necessary element of impracticality. That is not to say that artistic things cannot be practical; rather, there must be some part of the piece that does more than simply serve a function. For example, ordering a cheeseburger at McDonald s is an intentional use of the medium of a voice to communicate a message (the desire for food) between two minds (the customer and the server). However, it seems somewhat clear that this extreme case does not constitute a work of art. Still, it would be possible to compose a vocal piece of music that qualifies as art, even if the words are still, I d like a Big Mac, please. The art enters
