Critical Essay On Othello
Crafting a critical essay on the chosen topic demands a thorough understanding of both the
subject matter and the critical frameworks applied to literary analysis. Othello, a masterpiece by
William Shakespeare, is rich with complex characters, intricate plotlines, and profound themes,
making it a challenging yet rewarding piece to dissect.
To begin with, one must delve deep into the nuances of Othello's characters, particularly the
titular protagonist and his tragic flaw of jealousy. Analyzing Othello's motivations, actions, and
interactions with other characters requires keen insight and careful examination of textual
evidence.
Moreover, exploring the themes of race, jealousy, manipulation, and power dynamics adds layers
of complexity to the essay. Each theme must be dissected with precision, drawing connections
between the characters' actions and the broader societal and psychological implications.
Furthermore, crafting a compelling argument requires thorough research into existing critical
perspectives on Othello. Engaging with scholarly articles, critical essays, and academic debates is
essential for developing a nuanced understanding of the text and formulating original insights.
Additionally, structuring the essay effectively is paramount. A coherent organization, clear thesis
statement, and logical progression of arguments are essential for guiding the reader through the
analysis and presenting a convincing interpretation of Othello.
In essence, writing a critical essay on Othello demands intellectual rigor, analytical prowess, and
a deep appreciation for the complexities of Shakespearean literature. It is a task that requires
dedication, patience, and a willingness to grapple with ambiguity and interpretation.

Last Five Years Research Paper
How I ve changed in the last five years. It is really quite incredible how the teenage
body can change whether that s mentally, or physically, and let me tell you that I ve
changed a lot in both those categories. It will start off in the beginning of fifth grade
when I was 11. Then talk about growing up, and into myself through seventh, eighth,
and ninth grade. Finally talk about where I am now, and how those five years
changed me into the person I am today.
Short, round face with chubby cheeks, and buzz cut hair, that would just about
describe my physical features as a fifth grade boy. I was still very social like I am
today but not as comfortable with myself yet at this point in my life. Everyone wants
to belong to something or some group,
Example Of An Escalator Research Paper
The actions of characters in the escalator fail video are an excellent example of a
human vice. The characters have become accustomed to escalators and take
advantage of using them. When the escalator stops moving the thought of walking up
the remainder of the escalator never crosses their minds because that would go
against their usual habit. While not all would agree that using an escalator is a viceI
will argue that while convenient, escalators encourage laziness and frequent use can
lead to other bad habits. Many places that feature escalators also feature stairs.
While stairs may require more effort, they save time and get you moving. It may not
seem like it is worth it but if you choose to use the stairs every time, rather than
escalators
Guilt In The Kite Runner And Wide Sargasso Sea
Whilst many believe that that the theme of guilt in The Kite Runner and Wide
Sargasso Sea affects the characters lives, it seems that this isn t the only theme
which does as, the theme of Race affects the lives of characters in The Kite Runner
to an extent that certain races feel inferior to others for example, Amir sees Hassan
as inferior to him because he is a Pashtun and Hassan is a Hazara. Similarly, in Wide
Sargasso Sea certain races feel inferior to others, for example, the White creoles feel
inferior to the Black Caribbeans .
In The Kite Runner, race affects the Hazaras lives as Hazaras are not seen as equal to
the Pashtuns throughout the novel, Hosseini uses repetition as he continuously refers
to Hassan as Just a Hazara rather
Christmas Island Gender Roles
As a remote island country of only 2,205 inhabitants, it makes sense that most people
have never heard of the country. Christmas Island, considered a part of Southeast
Asia, is located in the Indian Ocean off the southern coast of Indonesia. To get an
idea on the size of this minuscule island in comparison to Washington DC, the 138.9
km long coastline is roughly three quarters the size of the U.S. capital city. There are
two seasons that this tropical island experiences throughout the year: a wet season
with monsoons all throughout the months of December to April, and a dry season
the remainder of the year with trade winds that cool down the island. Most of
Christmas Islands coastline is made up of sharp, steep cliffs, making it difficult...

The people of Christmas Island live what I would call a modernized Victorian
lifestyle in that woman are allotted the right to work, but gender roles are still very
much prominent. There is no law against discrimination in the workplace and that
causes difficulty for women when they are looking for work. In this country, men
complete all the work while women stay home, tending to the family and their home.
Marriage is still arranged in Christmas Island, although in the more urban areas of the
island, love matches are becoming more accepted. Virginity tests are still performed
on brides, although the church frowns down upon them. The people of Christmas
Island hold high importance in family, so divorce is not a very common practice in
this country.
It is uncommon on the island to make direct eye contact with another person, as
well as it is for one to look at a person of high status or cut between the gaze of
talking individuals. Making direct eye contact in this country, oddly enough, is a
sign of disrespect. Parents also do not allow their children to cry or have temper
Romans 7-25 Thesis
Introduction: This is an exegesis paper over the passage of Romans 7:7 25. The
purpose of this exegesis paper is to help the reader know the context of the book of
Romans and where the passage of Romans 7:7 25 fits into the rest of the book. In
addition I will be covering the author, date, purpose, audience, historical,
geographical, and cultural background to help the reader gasp the entirety of the
context. Author: The author of Romans is the apostle Paul (Romans 1:1), who in
addition to writing Romans, wrote 12 other epistles specific to the church and to
individual persons. Paul, originally given the Hebrew name Saul due to his Hebrew
descent from the tribe of Benjamin (Philippians 3:5) was assumed to be born

Ruminant Nutrition
Supplementation of folic acid in ruminant Consequently, the role of FA in ruminant
nutrition has largely been ignored. As folate plays crucial role in DNA synthesis
and methionine cycle, its requirement increases during gestation and lactation.
Recent evidences however, suggest that microbial synthesis may not be adequate to
meet the high demand of FA during gestation and lactation (Ragaller et al., 2008). It
is now quantitatively known that microbial synthesis of FA ranged from 16.5 to 21
mg/d in a high yielding cow weighing 650 kg and producing 35 kg of milk per day,
whereas, the estimated requirement was 35 mg/cow (Scwab et al., 2006; Santschi et
al., 2005). There are some studies which indicates that supplementation of FA
increased the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This might be due to increased rumen activity due to increased supply of
degradable carbohydrates. However, other studies (Santschi et al., 2005) did not
observe any difference in rumen folate concentration in cows fed either 37 or 70%
forages. Lower concentration of rumen folate in cows on high forage diet was
attributed to the fact that most fibrolytic bacteria take up folate. A recent study
shows evidences that fibrolytic bacteria need FA acid for growth and
multiplication (Wang et al., 2016). Similarly, Heyes et al. (1966) and Girard et al.
(1994) reported decreased rumen concentration of folate in cattle fed high forage
diets. It is already demonstrated that Ruminococcus flavifaciens require folic acid,
tetra hydro folate or para amino benzoic acid for growth and multiplication (Ayers,
1958; Slyter and Weaver, 1977; Scott and Dehority, 1965; Bryant and Robinson,
1961). Two strains of Rminococcus albus also required FA (Bryant and Robinson,
1961). Supplementation of rumen protected folic acid (RPFA) at 0. 0.6, 1.2 and 1.8
g/d to steers provided 0, 18.2, 36.4 and 54.6 mg/d of folic acid to rumen
microorganisms, respectively. The influence of supplementation of RPFA on rumen
fermentation was mostly quadratic (Wang et al., 2016). Secretion of cellulytic
enzymes depend on the growth and multiplication of cellulytic
Criminal Justice Opportunities
The student s interest in Criminal Justice stems from aspirations of wanting to learn
and know more about researching and analyzing information. Based on current work
experiences along with knowledge using skills that require logical reasoning the
student finds that a degree in Criminal Justice will enhance a career in
administration and leadership roles. The goal is to be able to explore the different
aspects of possible career opportunities in management and qualify for a given
position. The intended takeaway from course studies in the criminal justiceprogram is
to cover everything such as the different research methods in addition to a working
knowledge of how the courts, and law enforcement functions.
Furthermore it appears that careers
A Bug’s Life Through the Lens of Karl Marx Essay
example
A Bug s Life through the lens of Karl Marx
Disney s Pixar film, A Bug s Life, is much more than meets the eye. The film is not
only an animated comedy; it holds deep sociological theory within its plot. Many of
the major themes and concepts of the movie can be viewed through the lens of the
famous theorist Karl Marx. Marx s theory is famous for focusing on how society
functions. In particular he concerns himself with how capitalism, the working class,
and the revolutions create problems in our society. My paper will analyze how
Marxian theory and concepts fit into major climactic scenes of the film. The film
revolves around the protagonist Filk, a worker ant. The colony is being oppressed by
a group of grasshoppers and their leader ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Marx s states in his theory, when the working class becomes aware of their
exploitation, this will result in a revolt lead by the proletariats. The major theories
studied by Marx can be used to analyze the characters and situations presented in the
film.
Karl Marx was born in Prussia on May of 1818 to a middle class Jewish family. As
an adult, Marx attended school in Berlin where he discovered the philosophy of
G.W.F. Hegel. Hegel s main concept was the idea of dialect, which can be
explained as the process of logical argumentation and refutation. Marx was greatly
influenced by Hegel, which is shown in Marx s belief that history evolves through
a series of predictable conflicts (A+E Television Networks, LLC. 2013). Marx also
believed social divisions and civil unrest were due to the increase in industrialization
and the widening gap between rich and poor.
With his co author Friedrich Engels, Karl Marx produced one of his most famous
works, The Communist Manifesto. The authors begin with the famous line, history
of all hitherto existing societies is the history of class struggle (Marx and Engels
1848: 2). It emphasizes that the bourgeoisie is a powerful class, which will stop at
nothing and force the adoption of a capitalist means of production upon anyone it
meets. Marx describes how this will force society to split into two classes. The
Manifesto of the Communist Party also emphasizes the theory of historical
materialism. Historical materialism happens when

Question 1
Imagine that you re designing a new attack for an enemy in a melee focused third
person action game. Just to choose a random example, let s say it s a Minotaur in a
God of War style game. What factors do you consider when designing the attack, and
how do you prioritize these factors?
Basic factors about the attack:
1.Area: The area in which the attack could potentially fall upon
2.Duration: The duration of the attack
3.Frequency: How often this attack is used
4.Range: The maximum distance the attack can reach
5.Size: The area of effect of the attack
6.Damage: Damage per attack
7.Effects: Extra properties of attack, like poison or slow effect
8.Cooldown: How long does it take to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the attack speed will be compared to player s movement speed, and
attack area will be compared to the size of the fighting room.
Among these factors, the most important one should be Dogdgeability. Like in the
famous action game Dark Souls, bosses and enemies attack damage is usually quite
high and cause players to die a lot. However, the game still makes players think it is
fair, because a lot of attacks are dodgeable by skillful players. If the attack cannot be
dodged systematically, we will be limited when adjusting other factors of the attack,
because the players will always receive damage from the attack. As a result, the
attack cannot be too strong, and the game will be less exciting. On the other hand,
if the attack can be dogdged, we can make it as strong as we like and with all kinds
of effects. This increases the feeling of achievement when player successfully dodged
it.
After we design how it could be dodged, we can measure by playtesting how
difficult it is to dodge the attack. After that, we can assign the damage inversely
proportional to the rate of successful dodge. In summary, we could prioritize the
factors by groups as following:
(Dodgeability: Area, Duration, Range, Size, Subattack Counts, Preparation, Room
Coverage, Smartness, Movement) (Frequency, Damage, Effects, Cooldown,
Animation) (Properties, Environment Destruction)
We could further prioritize the factors in dodgeability group as follows.
First we could decide (Area,
An Intimate View Of Imagery Of Langston Hughes Dream...
An Intimate View of the Imagery in Langston Hughes Dream Deferred
America is built on a dream, the idea that anyone has the opportunity for prosperity,
success, and an upward social mobility when they work hard. This dream is a siren
call to America s shores for millions of people from across the world looking to
forge a better life. Unfortunately, this dream seems to elude Blacks in America. The
elusiveness of this dream is not because Blacks do not want to succeed or have the
hunger to achieve their goals but because extraneous forces often causes it to be out
of reach and ultimately deferred. But What happens to a dream deferred? in Langston
Hughes seminal poem Dream Deferred the use of vivid imagery shows the regret,
sadness, and the danger of forgotten dreams. The beauty of a dream is unrivaled; a
dream can snatch 13 colonies from under the tyrannical thumb of a Queen or rouse
millions of people to descend on the National Mall to hear a reverend from Atlanta
speak of equality. Dreams are succulent like a grape but what happens when
unattended? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? This image elicits regret, a once
inviting fruit is now dried, withered, and less appealing. The sun (outside influences)
have taken away what made the grape beautiful and replaced that attractiveness with
a vison of what could have been. Though that raisin can still provide sustenance, just
as a janitor still provides for their family, the janitor s dream of becoming an artist
Summary Of Goldilocks And The Three Bears
Summary: The story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears begins in a cottage deep in
the woods. This house is occupied by a family of bears: mama bear, papa bear and
there only child baby bear. Their home is very neat and tidy. In the home, each
bear has its own size chair, porridge bowl and bed which are all sized appropriately
to the sizing of the bears. Not far away from where the bears house, lived a
mischievous beautiful little girl with long soft blonde locks, who had an inquiring
mind. Her name was Goldilocks One day the three bears went to visit a new born
baby, the same time Goldilocks wandered into the woods. Through out her walk
she came upon a house than peeked inside. When realizing it was where baby bear
lived, Goldilocks took it upon herself to go into the house without the owner s
permission. She looked around (after entering) the bears home. Being goldilocks,
she had a realization where she was not satisfied with superficial answers. She
tested everything out for herself before she made up her mind. She tested each of
the bears following items: porridge bowls, chairs, and beds. After testing mama
and papa bears porridge bowl she found baby bears to be just right. When sitting on
the chair she broke baby bears chair into pieces. All those activities made the impish
little girl tried so she decided to go up stairs to see which bed has the best texture for
her to take a nap in. Passing through mama and papa bears bed she ended up falling
asleep in baby bears bed.
Procial Factors Of Social Isolation
Social Isolation As Rick becomes incarcerated in the juvenile detention center he
starts to experience the effects of social isolation. As being part of the team and
social accept by his peers Rick struggles to fit in with his new peers in the detention
center. When Rick is adjusting to incarceration there was a social interaction of his
peers watching television while Rick isolated himself in the back of the room
avoiding social interaction. This type of situation can lead to psychological issues if
the behavior continues. In the study, Procedural Factors That Regulate the Effects of
Social Conditions on AlcoholConsumption in Rats (2016), the researcher s examined
alcohol consumption among rats that were put into social isolation versus group
interaction. The research outlined that there have been numerous studies showing
various results on the subject. The study demonstrated that there are many factors
that can elicit increases in alcohol consumption due to social isolation. One factor
revealed in the research was the age of the rats. The rats that were in adolescence or
mating age were more likely to consume alcohol due to social isolation rather than
mature adult rats. The second factor realized was the length of isolation. Short or
acute isolation has mixed to little effect on alcohol consumption. However,
continuous isolation reliably leads to increases in alcohol consumption. Finally, a
major contributor was the size of the group. The research lead to the smaller

Why People Commit Crimes And Explain How Judiciary...
When we were little children, an adult would ask you what you want to be when
you grow up. Most children want to be dancers, singers, doctors, lawyers, etc. I
always wanted to be a lawyer and advance to being a judge. Now that I am older, the
judicial system is where I need to be, just not a prosecutor or judge. I have changed
my mind about being a prosecutor and judge because it is too political. I would be
fair. However, I would not make a very good political candidate. Even though each

Because judiciary professionals face three main issues on a regular basis, the
judge is responsible for coming up with a decision. The prosecutor is responsible
for having enough evidence to pursue a trial. The prosecutor is the representative of
the state and wields tremendous power (Wright, 2012). The defense attorney is
responsible for proving beyond a shadow and a doubt that the client is innocent. The
job of the defense attorney is, by any standard, difficult. It is difficult for a variety of
reasons. First, defendants often talk to the police without an attorney present. When
they do this, they themselves in crimes and to provide police with evidence that can
later be used against them. Second, defense attorneys often handle so many cases
that it is simply impossible for them to understand the details of each case. To
manage the large number of criminal cases they are responsible for, defense attorneys
often have little choice but to spend only a few minutes with each defendant and to
base their legal recommendations on the information they receive from their clients
and the prosecutor s office. Third, most of the defendants in the criminal justice
system are from the lower socioeconomic classes. These defendants sometimes do not
fully understand their legal rights, nor do they have resources to hire expert witnesses
or to investigate the evidence obtained by the

The Concept Of The Jumping Robot
ABSTRACT: Depending upon the type of terrain an¬¬d application, robot
motion varies from simple translatory motion to complex motions like walking,
jumping, climbing. Jumping is a preferred mode over others when it comes to
crossing obstacles that are of a size larger than the robots own body. It is better to
jump over a terrain with irregular surface, debris, ground cracks than climbing and
crossing over them. A new mechanism for increasing the usefulness of ground robots
in surveillance applications has been proposed, which adds a jumping ability to the
existing wheeled motion. The operations of wheeled movement and the jumping
mechanism are independent of each other. The configuration for a two wheeled
jumping robot is defined, the jumping... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The robot will be driven with two motorized wheels and a balancing tail which will
provide the third point of contact. The jumping action will be obtained with the aid of
the tail. The task is to tug the tail within the body of the robot, preserving the normal
reaction force with the ground and then releasing it as it produces the energy to lift
the robot body off the ground. Fig 1. Conceptual 3D model of the Jumping Robot
Existing methods to activate the tail on a wheeled robot are winching
mechanism[4][5] and pneumatics[6][7] .In winching an additional actuator,
required to hold the sheet in a coiled state increases the power requirements and
also adds extra weight to the body of the robot. For pneumatics, the size of the
robot increases due to the compressor involved. Also the number of firings that can
be produced are limited. Any drop in the pressure of compressed air will also lead
to malfunctioning of the jumping mechanism. Considering the difficulties faced
above, the proposed system shall make use of compression springs. The tail will be
spring loaded. Concepts have been generated to provide best fit for the defined
problem.

William Tecumseh Sherman Research Paper
William Tecumseh Sherman was a great Union general fighting in the Civil War.
His major feat during the war was his campaign through the South. He started in
Chattanooga, Tennessee and ended in Savannah, Georgia. His March used
psychological warfare to make southerners lose support for the Southern cause by
bringing the war to their front doors. This showing of how cruel the war really was
is said to have ended the war more quickly.
It all started November 23, in Chattanooga, Tennessee during the Battle of
Chattanooga. Following the Battle of Chickamauga in September of 1863, General
Ulysses S. Grant focused on lifting the Confederate siege on Chattanooga. Him and
General Sherman s army attacked the Confederate troops eventually winning
Why Should Service Dogs Be Allowed In Schools
There is a reason people say dogs are a man s best friend. When I was younger, I was
always afraid that some bad guy would break into my house. This fear caused me
to have nightmares and lose sleep. Then I got a dog and I felt so much safer! Right
now there is a case going to the Supreme Court to decide if service dogs should be
allowed in schools. Service dogs should be allowed in schools because they help
people with disabilities, they provide comfort to people, and because dogs are
frequently used in fields of medicine. If I found comfort with a dog, so can
students with disabilities. Dogs are not just cute and fuzzy friends. Since it has
been thousands of years that dogs have been trained to do things for humans, we
can now count on dogs to do very specific jobs. For example, the article from the
U.S. Department of Justice says, Service animals are defined as dogs that are... Show

if they would be safe for humans. There are dogs that are trained to sniff out cancer

who alert their owners when their blood sugar is dropping dangerously low. (p.1).
Some people think that service dogs should not be allowed in schools because they
are afraid. However they are wrong because service dogs are so well trained they will

African Diaspora Essay
The contemporary society has started to express a lot of interest in cultural values
in the recent years and the concept of the African Diaspora has received a lot of
attention from the general public as a result of the complex ideas that it puts across.
There are a series of notable figures from the nineteenth century who proved that the
African Diaspora would have a significant influence on the Western World,
considering that these people were determined to express their passion in regard to
their background and to their overall role on the American continent. The concept of
the African Diaspora goes back several millennia, at the time when people in
Antiquity either traveled to other sides of the world because they wanted to expand
their influence or were simply forced to leave their homes in order to be slaves. In
order to understand more regarding the African Diaspora in the Americas, one needs
to focus on earlier periods before the rise of American slavery and the transatlantic
slave trade (Gomez 7). Although individuals in the U.S. mainly focus on trying to
comprehend African culture through focusing on people who were brought on the
American continent during the slave trade, the center of attention should actually be
represented by African tradition that was devised over several centuries and before
African people interacted with white individuals. Many people today promote the
belief that African Diaspora directly results from the transatlantic slave trade. Even
Separation Of Juveniles
In Chapter two, it discusses the separation of juveniles from the criminal justice
system. It really stood out to me that there were different groups and programs to
help separate the youth. Those groups were the Chicago Boy s Court and Youth
Counsel Bureau. The Chicago Boy s Court used community service groups such as a
Catholic Church agency, a predominantly Protestant agency, a Jewish Social Service,
and the Colored Big Brothers. This really helped the youth because they were
released into their supervision. It also helped because the groups would evaluate the
individual s behavior over time and report back to the court. If the youth made
satisfactory progress then the individual would be released without a record. The

Hispanic Culture Influence On American Culture
American culture is heavily influenced by the Hispanic culture because when
Hispanic people move to America they bring their culture with them. Their culture
has influenced our religion, cuisine, social media, etc. Hispanic people make up
15.8% of the population in America so it is no surprise that they are the leading
minority group to have influence on American culture. Hispanicculture influences
states with a larger Hispanic population. More than half of the Hispanic population
lives in California, Texas, and Florida. These are the states in the U.S. that have a
larger mix of Hispanic and American culture. The leading state for the Hispanic
community in America is California. Out of 37.7 million people 14.4 million are a

Why A Company Can Go Through Social Media
Many reasons why a company can go through so many changes throughout the years
are due to the change of the market. With industries such as publishing, the changes
can become endless. Publishers try and find ways to get their ideas out into such a
market for consumers to enjoy. Publishing companies started out small however as
time continued so did the demand in products. The demand grew so much that the
markets became so big so fast. Pushing for an idea that marketingtoday is more
dependent on publishingcontent through social media. Marketing and publishing
companies have continued to change with time, because technology changes too.
Marketing now has the most important role in publishing because it aims for a target
audience and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Marketing and publishing can continue to date back together when trying to promote
ideas. The marketer had to find someone to enjoy the ideas that the publisher wanted
to promote. The early changes and develops of publishing are some of the only
changes that continued to grow into todays markets
Using your brain is something we all do day in and day out. This is a normal way
of thinking about how we see the world. We tend to use what we see around us as
reminders of what we want, or need to do. When publishers go about publishing a
new book or new product they try and find someone who can use the information
they are providing. Whether it is a true story or something strictly made up. We as
humans have tendencies to use what we read and hear to promote some sort of
desire we want. We can have many different ways of explaining what we see and
what we gain. One of the best examples is from a Derren Browns subliminal
advertising . This is an actual video that shows two well known advertisers from the
from MBA firm being had by what they already knew. It explains how what we as
humans see just driving down the street can have the biggest impact on what we
draw. The two men were asked to draw an idea for a new poster for something they
had never heard of. However when they were done the man showed them what he
thought they would of drawn and it was almost identical. You ask why is this? Well
marketing is designed to weave such patterns and designs into
Thomas Jefferson Achievements
The Presidency of Thomas Jefferson was one of scandal, but also had some great
accomplishments. Jefferson was a well rounded individual with many skills. He also
had some faults as most people do. Jefferson did well when he was president, but
some of his actions proved that maybe he wasn t the most upfront man. Besides that,
Jefferson was a good and successful President. Thomas Jeffersonwas not only the
third president of the United States but also a man of many talents. Jefferson is the
leading man of the Enlightenment Era because of this. Jefferson could read Greek
and Latin. as mentioned in The Enduring Vision, Jefferson also spoke French fluently
and studied some Native American languages (175). Jefferson also had some

Even before Louisiana was purchased Jefferson wanted to launch an expedition to
explore the west. With Lousiana having been purchased this was the perfect time
for Jefferson to launch his expedition and so he did. The expedition was called the
Corps of Discovery or more famously know as the Lewis and Clark expedition
(Vision 181) .The leaders for this journey were Meriwether Lewis who was
Jefferson s private secretary and William Clark who was an army officer. Among
them were 27 other members. For Jefferson, this expedition was meant for
scientific discovery. He wanted Lewis and Clark to study the plants and animals of
the area. In order to prepare for this Jefferson sent Lewis to Philadelphia to study
zoology, astronomy, and botany (Vision 181). From this, we can see that Jefferson
was serious about this expedition and wanted his information to come from
somebody who knew a lot about different scientific fields. Another goal of the
expedition was to study Native American life and possibly establish a trade
network with them. The expedition started in May of 1804 and they returned
home in 1806. Throughout their journey, they spent their winters with different
Indian groups. Their first winter was spent at Fort Mandan in North Dakota with
the Mandan Indians. During this time the groups socialized with each other,
hunted, and traded. This opened up doors for Lewis and Clark to study Native
American life. In November of 1805 they reached the Pacific ocean and spent their
second winter at Fort Clatsop in Oregon. This stop also gave them some good
observation, but the weather wasn t always that great. Gray skies and rain was
very common in Oregon. Overall, their trip was a success. A lot of that has to due

Reflection Paper On Teaching English
Reflective Narrative English has never been my preferred subject. Actually, it has
been my least preferred subject. Every day in school, I often speculated why it is
essential to do so many English affiliated tasks, and in speculating, I discovered to
hate the subject without apprehending its future benefits. Why do I find English so
distasteful? I think my despise for the subject has elevated through these last few
years that I have been learning the distinct elements of English language. It wasn t
actually learning how to convey a message through speaking English that unnerved
me, rather it was getting English education in a formal learning environment like
reading, writing, and grammar. These were the stuff that once I learned them, I
will be using them every day. It does felt good to know how to read and write and
even better to have a little bit knowledge of grammar. Not only did I maneuver the
knowledge to read a narrative in reading class or to perform a writing assignment,
but also to read the newspaper and write an epistle to friend or family. I have learned
numerous things throughout the entire course of the semester, including, how to find
and composite better research through the use of many resources found at the
campus library and the internet, and how to cite my research work correctly using
MLA format. The last thing I learned from the class is revising my paper until I feel
everything is on track and sounds good. As an international student, I struggled
Vladek And His Father s Experiences In Maus By Art
Spiegelman
In Maus, a graphic novel by Art Spiegelman, Spigelman uses a combination of
flashbacks to illustrate his father s experiences in the holocaust in the form of a
graphic novel. Spiegelman describes his father s present day life and their
interactions, to give the reader a view of a holocaust survivor s life: before, during,
and after the holocaust. Art and his father, Vladek, are the two protagonists of the
comic and each chapter begins and ends with Art s experience while writing the
novel, while the bulk of each chapter is filled with Vladek s flashbacks to his
experiences during the holocaust. Each chapter plays a significant role in the overall
plot, and the reader s understanding of Vladek s experience in the holocaust, as well
as the dynamic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

insane Anja is becoming due to the hardships she faces in the chapter. Vladek is
told a few months later that the family must be relocated. He says, All 12 of our
household were given now to live in 2 ВЅ small rooms (82). Even though his family
comes from wealth they don t receive any special privileges and they are forced to

Now, the Jewish people not only have to live in fear because of the Nazis, but also

How One Remembers An Event
How one remembers an event depends on the context in which they witnessed it in.
That context is not simply composed of factors such as the weather or the
emotional state of the spectator; the larger socio political context also has a part to
play. The 2014 Sochi Winter Games are no exception to this theory, but a prime
example of it. The Sochi games come, at least in this author s mind as a dud. Yes,
women were for the first time allowed to participate in the ski jump, and other
athletes fulfilled their Olympic dream, but the Cold War magic was not there. The
Western and Russian Media played their share, the United Statesand Russiaare
currently opposed in several significant international conflicts, but we did not
witness a Miracle on Ice, or any geopolitical sparks in the competition. This is
because the media and political elites built up tensions in their populaces, but
abstained from promoting through their athletes. To highlight the first two articles
this paper will examine will be from the pre games period, from both the American
and Russian perspective. For the Americans ESPN s Ramona Shelburne wrote a
piece on the USOC asking the American athletes to not participate in protests over
Russia s new anti gay propaganda laws. The article could have ended right there, and
just been a headline. What business did ESPN have on writing a political piece, when
American s do not want their sports and politics mixed? However, the author
continues, and spends time
Pros And Cons Of Public Schools
Public schools accept everyone you mostly need proof of the students address.
However, you must be accepted into a private school, you have to fill out an
application because they are allowed to turn down anyone. Private schools are
Financed through federal, state, and local taxes, public schools are part of a larger
school system, which functions as a part of the government and must follow the rules
and regulations set by politicians (Great School Staff, 2017). Many different
backgrounds can attend private schools though it is usually depending on the parent s
choice of school and quality of educationoffered in the public sector. Children from a
low income household can receive tuition tax credits or vouchers to pay for a
private education. As cited in Great Schools Staff, According to the National
Association of Independent Schools, the median tuition for their member private
day schools in 2008 2009 in the United States was $17,441. Tuition for boarding
schools was close to $37,017. (Of the 28,384 private schools in the United States,
about 1,050 are affiliated with the NAIS. Average tuition for nonmember schools is
substantially less: Day schools charge $10,841 and boarding schools $23,448 .
Without the vouchers to pay for lower class children they would be unable to attend a
school that has such a high tuition. In private schools, they create their own schedule
and curriculum. Private schools can also change and add to the curriculum and
schedule. However, in public
Tommy Douglass Religion
Being a Baptist preacher, Tommy Douglas was a religious man. His religion ruled
many choices in his early life. Douglas would spend every Sunday in the Weyburn
church preaching the gospel, and on the weekdays, he would do what he could to
help the suffering of poor. As at the time, the great economic depression had it s grip
on Saskatchewan. Furthermore, Tommy Douglaswas also a pragmatist. Instead of
thinking on the ideals, he thought practically. He was a calculating man. Many
people despised his views, not his religious views, but his political ones. As a member
of the Cooperative Commonwealth Foundation and later the New Democratic Party,
he was a social democrat or socialist . A lot of citizens thought the government would

Shortly after, he moved to Weyburn, Saskatchewan. At that time he witnessed all
the suffering the people in the province were facing due to the great depression.
Tommy Douglas felt something had needed to be done, and so he decided that
politics was the way. 1933, Tommy Douglas had joined the Cooperative
Commonwealth Foundation (CCF), a socialist political party in Canada. Which
later became the New Democratic Party (NDP). During the 1934 Saskatchewan
elections, he was unsuccessful, but he did not give up. At the 1935 federal
election, he ran as a member of the CCF. This time he was successful. During his
time in Parliament, he spent much of the time advocating for civil liberties and
such that others did not agree with. Tommy Douglas built a reputation as a witty
debater. In 1944, Tommy Douglas decided to resign from the Parliament and run
for the Saskatchewan general election. He spent the next 17 years as premier. His
most notable achievement as premier, was the establishment of a government
funded medical care plan. 1961, Douglas resigned as premier to lead the NDP. Lots
were accomplished in his lifespan, but he did not live forever. Tommy Douglas

Walkalong Collides
Did you know that walkalong gliders can stay in the air as long as you want? This
happens because of wind constantly pushing wind against the glider, therefore
keeping the glider in the air. According to recent experience with gliders, the
hypothesis is going to be which glider is faster, and which one stays up longer, and
if the hypothesis is correct then the seagull glider will be the best. If the conditions
are not perfect, then this will affect the project majorly. To understand more about
walkalong gliders you must know the science behind gliders, the condition the
paper must be in, and also possible weather that will affect the project. Do you
know what it takes to make walkalong gliders fly? Walkalong gliders are very fun
to use, and one of the things walkalong gliders need, is aerodynamics,
Aerodynamics is the properties of a solid object the manner in which air flows
around it, but the good thing about aerodynamics, is that it substitutes for engines
Aerodynamics is for those who cannot manufacture good engines (Enzo Ferrari).
Another thing that walkalong gliders need to fly is wind resistance, and wind
resistance is where the airplane is able to fly without being affected by wind.

paper to use if you are using your plane inside. Another paper, that is not commonly

Elements Of Persuasive Communication
Elements in Persuasive Communication: As for the elements in a process of
persuasive communication according to Sumirat Suryana (2014: 2.25), are: 1)
Persuader Persuader is a person and or group of people who convey a message

The meaning of manipulation in the statement is not reducing or adding facts
according to context, but in the sense of utilizing the facts related to the motives of
the target consumers, so that it will follow the purpose of the message conveyed by
the persuader to the target consumers. 5) Persuasive Channel A channel is an
intermediary when a persuadee redirects messages originating from the original
source for the ultimate purpose. Channels are used by persuaders to communicate
with various people, formally or informally, face to face communication or mediated
communication. However, in this study is focused on persuasive communication via
telephone by the telemarketers. 6) Feedback and Effects According to Sastropoetro
(in Sumirat Suryana, 2014: 2.38) feedback is an answer or reaction that comes from
the persuadee. Feedback consists of internal feedback and external feedback. Internal
feedback is the communicator s reaction to the message he/she has conveyed. While
external feedback is a reaction that comes from the persuadee because the message
conveyed by the communicator does not understand or not in accordance with his

Should Veterans Get Health Care Essay
Veterans have risked their lives throughout the history of the United States to keep
its people safe and free from all harm. All military personnel should be taken for
granted and treat with respect even if the soldier is active or a veteran. Today
veterans are left homeless on the streets and have difficulties with life after serving in
the military. America offers veterans some benefits but it can be difficult to acquire
them. I think that the United Statescan take better care of their veterans by making it
easier to get health care, help veterans get jobs easier after the service, and improve
the GI bill. One reason why I think that America can take better care of their
veterans is by making it easier to get health care. Health care is offered for veterans
through the VA but it takes time and can be a very difficult process to acquire. I
think that Veterans should automatically be given health care after their service is
over because they deserve it after risking their lives for America, so America
should protect theirs. In past experiences I saw a man struggle because he was
diagnosed with cancer after his service, but could not get the health care from the
VA because it is a long process and takes a long time to get it. I think veterans should

Medical School And Pursuit Of A Career As A Physician...
I first experienced the revitalizing field of clinical research and data analysis while
working at the Stony Brook Heart Institute as a certified clinical research coordinator.
For three and a half years, I had the unique opportunity of working closely with
patients whose debilitating, chronic, refractory cardiovascular illnesses lend them
few viable treatments options other than to pursue experiemntal treatmentts. Our
team cycled through dozens of different clinical trials over the years, working with
globally recognized technology and healthcare companies such as Merck, Abbott,
Medtronic. These experiences taught me more than I could have imagined about how
basic science is translated in a clinical setting to ultimately improve health outcomes.
A desire to elevate my involvement in caring for the ill and exploring new research
ideas led to my subsequent enrollment in medical school and pursuit of a career as a
physician scientist.
As a student doctor, I continued to explore three core parts of my identity: a deep
appreciation for the humanistic and scientific intricacies of the human body; intense
enjoyment of research and analytical thinking; and a sincere devotion to serve. One
of the most frustrating aspects of preclinical medical education is not having ample
opportunity to learn medicine in the field through experience, and relegating the
majority of learning to textbooks or small group discussions. To augment my
devotion to serve the community in a way that

Child Labour is a pan India social evil which has shocked the conscience of the

educational opportunities and precarious socio economic circumstances, parents are
forced to send their kids for wage work. Parents miserably fail to arrange

In this way, these children form the category of child labour. This survey research
deals with exploration of the working children and their use in unorganized sector of
Agra and as a source of income to their families and households. It examines the main
characteristics of working children such as age, sex, educational level, work status,
and housing accommodation. Ayalew (1982) found that working children are less
sick than others because employers favour the healthy ones. However, many
children often only work for a relatively short time before being unemployed, often
for health reasons. There is evidence that children especially in times of life such as
puberty, are susceptible to illness. National Sample Survey Organisation (1988) on
employment and unemployment found that child workers belong to the age group of
5 14 years only. It further analysed that child work is the participation in any
economically productive activity. Such participation may be physical or mental in
nature. Gangrade et.al. (1989) observed that it is not a present day feature only that
children are taking part in economic activities. To a greater or lesser extent, children

Stock Car Racing Research Paper
Stock car racing has been around for a long time dating back into the 1900s. In the
very beginning race cars were not the safest cars out there. Some people lost their
lives and many life changing injuries were to follow. As the years passed the safety
and speed increased in racing. After the founding of NASCARthe sport evolved.
Each principle in the sport had a chemistry related reason to back the decision. The
metal alloys and the densities combined with the property of each metal plays a huge
part. The added elements to the gasoline makes the cars not only faster but also more
durable under the stressful conditions put on the engine. Scientist for companies also

Many of the bars and metals on the car are alloys of some sort. Alloys are mixtures
of metals to get certain properties needed that not only one metal can produce.
Many metals need to be bent at precise angles but still need to be extremely strong.
Alloy combinations have changed throughout the evolution of the sport. The text
states One of the first widely used alloys was bronze (copper and tin); followed by
brass (copper and zinc). The benefits of an alloy over a pure metal can include
increased tensile strength, and shear strength ( harberger). The multiple
combinations show that as more alloys were discovered they utilized them if the
provided any advantage. Some of the first alloys used in the cars used copper as a
main element in the mixture. Mixing these elements gave the meatal the best of
both worlds. It could increase more than one type of strength when a pure metal
was only good for one. As time evolved other elements such as carbon got a key
role in the alloys. The author states The body panels have a lower carbon steel,
which is lighter, while the chassis, which has to withstand great forces during the
race and protect the driver, is made of higher carbon steel that is designed to hold its
shape while withstanding the g force pressures (hartberger). The more carbon steel
the more rigid and strong the alloy becomes. The body must be light and flexible so
it contains less carbon
The Causes Of Hurricane Katrina
When I think about Hurricane Katrina, what first comes to mind is the
overwhelming ineptitude of the federal, state and local authorities and agencies
charged with planning for and dealing with the aftermath of such a disaster. On
August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast of the United States. As
a result of the hurricane force winds in excess of 140 miles per hour and the
accompanying storm surge, the levee system in New Orleans was overwhelmed
and many of the levees simply washed away. Low lying neighborhoods, such as St.
Bernard Parish and the Ninth Ward were under so much that people had to
scramble to attics and rooftops for safety. No American city in modern times had
ever been ravaged by floods in such a way. Over a year prior to Katrina, in June
2004, FEMA conducted a five day exercise which simulated a storm ( Hurricane
Pam ) in which New Orleans was completely devastated. (FEMA 2004). The
purpose of this drill, which included emergency officials from 50 parishes, state,
federal and volunteer organizations, was supposed to help officials develop joint
response plans for a catastrophic hurricane. According to Ron Castleman, the FEMA
Regional Director at the time: We made great progress this week in our preparedness
efforts, Disaster response teams developed action plans in critical areas such as
search and rescue, medical care, sheltering, temporary housing, school restoration and
debris management. These plans are essential for quick
Tests The Ability Of Liver
3.1.3.Tests the ability of liver to biosynthesis
3.1.3.1. Serum proteins test
The main source of the serum proteins is the liver. Parenchymal cells are main cells
responsible for create of clotting factors, albumin, and fibrinogen.
Albumin is the most significant amount of protein in the plasma formation by the liver
and is a useful indicator of liver function, because the half life of the albumin in
serum is much than (20 days), and the level of serum albumin is not a reliable
indicator of protein synthesis in the liver in acute liver disease. The site of albumin
synthesis is only in the liver. In the patients sever from liver cirrhosis and ascites
usually have low serum level. The normal serum range (3.5g/dl 4.5 g/dl).
Serum albumin levels tend to be naturally occurring in diseases such as acute viral
hepatitis, liver and obstructive jaundice drug related poisoning.
Albumin levels that below (3g / dL) in hepatitis should be raise suspicion of the
chronic liver disease such as cirrhosis of the liver, which reflects to decreased
synthesis of albumin.
3.1.3.2.Prealbumin
The level of pre albumin is (from 0.2 to 0.3 g /L). In the liver disease the levels of
pre albumin decreased because decrease the synthesis. Due to it has short half life.
Pre albumin was considered useful to determine the drug that causes hepatotoxicity.
3.1.3.3.Serum ceruloplasmin
Levels of normal plasma are (from 0.2to 0.4g/L) .It is manufactured in liver is
considered the acute phase protein.

Critical Essay On Othello. Othello Essay English Advanced - Year 11 HSC Thinkswap

  • 1. Critical Essay On Othello Crafting a critical essay on the chosen topic demands a thorough understanding of both the subject matter and the critical frameworks applied to literary analysis. Othello, a masterpiece by William Shakespeare, is rich with complex characters, intricate plotlines, and profound themes, making it a challenging yet rewarding piece to dissect. To begin with, one must delve deep into the nuances of Othello's characters, particularly the titular protagonist and his tragic flaw of jealousy. Analyzing Othello's motivations, actions, and interactions with other characters requires keen insight and careful examination of textual evidence. Moreover, exploring the themes of race, jealousy, manipulation, and power dynamics adds layers of complexity to the essay. Each theme must be dissected with precision, drawing connections between the characters' actions and the broader societal and psychological implications. Furthermore, crafting a compelling argument requires thorough research into existing critical perspectives on Othello. Engaging with scholarly articles, critical essays, and academic debates is essential for developing a nuanced understanding of the text and formulating original insights. Additionally, structuring the essay effectively is paramount. A coherent organization, clear thesis statement, and logical progression of arguments are essential for guiding the reader through the analysis and presenting a convincing interpretation of Othello. In essence, writing a critical essay on Othello demands intellectual rigor, analytical prowess, and a deep appreciation for the complexities of Shakespearean literature. It is a task that requires dedication, patience, and a willingness to grapple with ambiguity and interpretation. Similar essays and much more can be ordered on HelpWriting.net. • 2. Last Five Years Research Paper How I ve changed in the last five years. It is really quite incredible how the teenage body can change whether that s mentally, or physically, and let me tell you that I ve changed a lot in both those categories. It will start off in the beginning of fifth grade when I was 11. Then talk about growing up, and into myself through seventh, eighth, and ninth grade. Finally talk about where I am now, and how those five years changed me into the person I am today. Short, round face with chubby cheeks, and buzz cut hair, that would just about describe my physical features as a fifth grade boy. I was still very social like I am today but not as comfortable with myself yet at this point in my life. Everyone wants to belong to something or some group,
  • 3. Example Of An Escalator Research Paper The actions of characters in the escalator fail video are an excellent example of a human vice. The characters have become accustomed to escalators and take advantage of using them. When the escalator stops moving the thought of walking up the remainder of the escalator never crosses their minds because that would go against their usual habit. While not all would agree that using an escalator is a viceI will argue that while convenient, escalators encourage laziness and frequent use can lead to other bad habits. Many places that feature escalators also feature stairs. While stairs may require more effort, they save time and get you moving. As folate plays crucial role in DNA synthesis and methionine cycle, its requirement increases during gestation and lactation. Recent evidences however, suggest that microbial synthesis may not be adequate to meet the high demand of FA during gestation and lactation (Ragaller et al., 2008). It is now quantitatively known that microbial synthesis of FA ranged from 16.5 to 21 mg/d in a high yielding cow weighing 650 kg and producing 35 kg of milk per day, whereas, the estimated requirement was 35 mg/cow (Scwab et al., 2006; Santschi et al., 2005). This might be due to increased rumen activity due to increased supply of degradable carbohydrates. However, other studies (Santschi et al., 2005) did not observe any difference in rumen folate concentration in cows fed either 37 or 70% forages. Lower concentration of rumen folate in cows on high forage diet was attributed to the fact that most fibrolytic bacteria take up folate. A recent study shows evidences that fibrolytic bacteria need FA acid for growth and multiplication (Wang et al., 2016). Similarly, Heyes et al. (1966) and Girard et al. (1994) reported decreased rumen concentration of folate in cattle fed high forage diets. It is already demonstrated that Ruminococcus flavifaciens require folic acid, tetra hydro folate or para amino benzoic acid for growth and multiplication (Ayers, 1958; Slyter and Weaver, 1977; Scott and Dehority, 1965; Bryant and Robinson, 1961). Two strains of Rminococcus albus also required FA (Bryant and Robinson, 1961). Supplementation of rumen protected folic acid (RPFA) at 0. 0.6, 1.2 and 1.8 g/d to steers provided 0, 18.2, 36.4 and 54.6 mg/d of folic acid to rumen microorganisms, respectively. As Marx s states in his theory, when the working class becomes aware of their exploitation, this will result in a revolt lead by the proletariats. The major theories studied by Marx can be used to analyze the characters and situations presented in the film. Karl Marx was born in Prussia on May of 1818 to a middle class Jewish family. As an adult, Marx attended school in Berlin where he discovered the philosophy of G.W.F. Hegel. Hegel s main concept was the idea of dialect, which can be explained as the process of logical argumentation and refutation. Marx was greatly influenced by Hegel, which is shown in Marx s belief that history evolves through a series of predictable conflicts (A+E Television Networks, LLC. 2013). Marx also believed social divisions and civil unrest were due to the increase in industrialization and the widening gap between rich and poor. With his co author Friedrich Engels, Karl Marx produced one of his most famous works, The Communist Manifesto. The authors begin with the famous line, history of all hitherto existing societies is the history of class struggle (Marx and Engels 1848: 2). It emphasizes that the bourgeoisie is a powerful class, which will stop at nothing and force the adoption of a capitalist means of production upon anyone it meets. Marx describes how this will force society to split into two classes. The Manifesto of the Communist Party also emphasizes the theory of historical materialism. Historical materialism happens when

Just to choose a random example, let s say it s a Minotaur in a God of War style game. What factors do you consider when designing the attack, and how do you prioritize these factors? Basic factors about the attack: 1.Area: The area in which the attack could potentially fall upon 2.Duration: The duration of the attack 3.Frequency: How often this attack is used 4.Range: The maximum distance the attack can reach 5.Size: The area of effect of the attack 6.Damage: Damage per attack 7.Effects: Extra properties of attack, like poison or slow effect 8.Cooldown: How long does it take to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, the attack speed will be compared to player s movement speed, and attack area will be compared to the size of the fighting room. Among these factors, the most important one should be Dogdgeability. Like in the famous action game Dark Souls, bosses and enemies attack damage is usually quite high and cause players to die a lot. However, the game still makes players think it is fair, because a lot of attacks are dodgeable by skillful players. If the attack cannot be dodged systematically, we will be limited when adjusting other factors of the attack, because the players will always receive damage from the attack. As a result, the attack cannot be too strong, and the game will be less exciting. On the other hand, if the attack can be dogdged, we can make it as strong as we like and with all kinds of effects. This increases the feeling of achievement when player successfully dodged it. After we design how it could be dodged, we can measure by playtesting how difficult it is to dodge the attack. After that, we can assign the damage inversely proportional to the rate of successful dodge. In summary, we could prioritize the factors by groups as following: (Dodgeability: Area, Duration, Range, Size, Subattack Counts, Preparation, Room Coverage, Smartness, Movement) (Frequency, Damage, Effects, Cooldown, Animation) (Properties, Environment Destruction) We could further prioritize the factors in dodgeability group as follows. First we could decide (Area,

An Intimate View of the Imagery in Langston Hughes Dream Deferred America is built on a dream, the idea that anyone has the opportunity for prosperity, success, and an upward social mobility when they work hard. This dream is a siren call to America s shores for millions of people from across the world looking to forge a better life. Unfortunately, this dream seems to elude Blacks in America. The elusiveness of this dream is not because Blacks do not want to succeed or have the hunger to achieve their goals but because extraneous forces often causes it to be out of reach and ultimately deferred. But What happens to a dream deferred? in Langston Hughes seminal poem Dream Deferred the use of vivid imagery shows the regret, sadness, and the danger of forgotten dreams. The beauty of a dream is unrivaled; a dream can snatch 13 colonies from under the tyrannical thumb of a Queen or rouse millions of people to descend on the National Mall to hear a reverend from Atlanta speak of equality. Dreams are succulent like a grape but what happens when unattended? Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun? This image elicits regret, a once inviting fruit is now dried, withered, and less appealing. The sun (outside influences) have taken away what made the grape beautiful and replaced that attractiveness with a vison of what could have been. Though that raisin can still provide sustenance, just as a janitor still provides for their family, the janitor s dream of becoming an artist

Among them were 27 other members. For Jefferson, this expedition was meant for scientific discovery. He wanted Lewis and Clark to study the plants and animals of the area. In order to prepare for this Jefferson sent Lewis to Philadelphia to study zoology, astronomy, and botany (Vision 181). From this, we can see that Jefferson was serious about this expedition and wanted his information to come from somebody who knew a lot about different scientific fields. Another goal of the expedition was to study Native American life and possibly establish a trade network with them. The expedition started in May of 1804 and they returned home in 1806. Throughout their journey, they spent their winters with different Indian groups. Their first winter was spent at Fort Mandan in North Dakota with the Mandan Indians. During this time the groups socialized with each other, hunted, and traded. This opened up doors for Lewis and Clark to study Native American life. In November of 1805 they reached the Pacific ocean and spent their second winter at Fort Clatsop in Oregon. This stop also gave them some good observation, but the weather wasn t always that great. Gray skies and rain was very common in Oregon. Overall, their trip was a success. A lot of that has to due with the help of Sacajawea. Sacajawea helped the group by acting as a translator and knew the makeup of the land. Sacajawea also made the group

Every day in school, I often speculated why it is essential to do so many English affiliated tasks, and in speculating, I discovered to hate the subject without apprehending its future benefits. Why do I find English so distasteful? I think my despise for the subject has elevated through these last few years that I have been learning the distinct elements of English language. It wasn t actually learning how to convey a message through speaking English that unnerved me, rather it was getting English education in a formal learning environment like reading, writing, and grammar. These were the stuff that once I learned them, I will be using them every day. It does felt good to know how to read and write and even better to have a little bit knowledge of grammar. Not only did I maneuver the knowledge to read a narrative in reading class or to perform a writing assignment, but also to read the newspaper and write an epistle to friend or family. I have learned numerous things throughout the entire course of the semester, including, how to find and composite better research through the use of many resources found at the campus library and the internet, and how to cite my research work correctly using MLA format. The last thing I learned from the class is revising my paper until I feel everything is on track and sounds good. As an international student, I struggled

Vladek And His Father s Experiences In Maus By Art Spiegelman In Maus, a graphic novel by Art Spiegelman, Spigelman uses a combination of flashbacks to illustrate his father s experiences in the holocaust in the form of a graphic novel. Spiegelman describes his father s present day life and their interactions, to give the reader a view of a holocaust survivor s life: before, during, and after the holocaust. Art and his father, Vladek, are the two protagonists of the comic and each chapter begins and ends with Art s experience while writing the novel, while the bulk of each chapter is filled with Vladek s flashbacks to his experiences during the holocaust. • 30. How One Remembers An Event How one remembers an event depends on the context in which they witnessed it in. That context is not simply composed of factors such as the weather or the emotional state of the spectator; the larger socio political context also has a part to play. The 2014 Sochi Winter Games are no exception to this theory, but a prime example of it. The Sochi games come, at least in this author s mind as a dud. Yes, women were for the first time allowed to participate in the ski jump, and other athletes fulfilled their Olympic dream, but the Cold War magic was not there. The Western and Russian Media played their share, the United Statesand Russiaare currently opposed in several significant international conflicts, but we did not witness a Miracle on Ice, or any geopolitical sparks in the competition. This is because the media and political elites built up tensions in their populaces, but abstained from promoting through their athletes. To highlight the first two articles this paper will examine will be from the pre games period, from both the American and Russian perspective. For the Americans ESPN s Ramona Shelburne wrote a piece on the USOC asking the American athletes to not participate in protests over Russia s new anti gay propaganda laws. The article could have ended right there, and just been a headline. What business did ESPN have on writing a political piece, when American s do not want their sports and politics mixed? However, the author continues, and spends time

However, you must be accepted into a private school, you have to fill out an application because they are allowed to turn down anyone. Private schools are Financed through federal, state, and local taxes, public schools are part of a larger school system, which functions as a part of the government and must follow the rules and regulations set by politicians (Great School Staff, 2017). Many different backgrounds can attend private schools though it is usually depending on the parent s choice of school and quality of educationoffered in the public sector. Children from a low income household can receive tuition tax credits or vouchers to pay for a private education. As cited in Great Schools Staff, According to the National Association of Independent Schools, the median tuition for their member private day schools in 2008 2009 in the United States was $17,441. Tuition for boarding schools was close to $37,017. (Of the 28,384 private schools in the United States, about 1,050 are affiliated with the NAIS. Average tuition for nonmember schools is substantially less: Day schools charge $10,841 and boarding schools $23,448 . Without the vouchers to pay for lower class children they would be unable to attend a school that has such a high tuition. In private schools, they create their own schedule and curriculum. Private schools can also change and add to the curriculum and schedule. However, in public

All military personnel should be taken for granted and treat with respect even if the soldier is active or a veteran. Today veterans are left homeless on the streets and have difficulties with life after serving in the military. America offers veterans some benefits but it can be difficult to acquire them. I think that the United Statescan take better care of their veterans by making it easier to get health care, help veterans get jobs easier after the service, and improve the GI bill. One reason why I think that America can take better care of their veterans is by making it easier to get health care. Health care is offered for veterans through the VA but it takes time and can be a very difficult process to acquire. I think that Veterans should automatically be given health care after their service is over because they deserve it after risking their lives for America, so America should protect theirs. I first experienced the revitalizing field of clinical research and data analysis while working at the Stony Brook Heart Institute as a certified clinical research coordinator. For three and a half years, I had the unique opportunity of working closely with patients whose debilitating, chronic, refractory cardiovascular illnesses lend them few viable treatments options other than to pursue experiemntal treatmentts. Our team cycled through dozens of different clinical trials over the years, working with globally recognized technology and healthcare companies such as Merck, Abbott, Medtronic. These experiences taught me more than I could have imagined about how basic science is translated in a clinical setting to ultimately improve health outcomes. A desire to elevate my involvement in caring for the ill and exploring new research ideas led to my subsequent enrollment in medical school and pursuit of a career as a physician scientist. As a student doctor, I continued to explore three core parts of my identity: a deep appreciation for the humanistic and scientific intricacies of the human body; intense enjoyment of research and analytical thinking; and a sincere devotion to serve. One of the most frustrating aspects of preclinical medical education is not having ample opportunity to learn medicine in the field through experience, and relegating the majority of learning to textbooks or small group discussions. To augment my devotion to serve the community in a way that

Ayalew (1982) found that working children are less sick than others because employers favour the healthy ones. However, many children often only work for a relatively short time before being unemployed, often for health reasons. There is evidence that children especially in times of life such as puberty, are susceptible to illness. National Sample Survey Organisation (1988) on employment and unemployment found that child workers belong to the age group of 5 14 years only. It further analysed that child work is the participation in any economically productive activity. Such participation may be physical or mental in nature. Gangrade et.al. Many of the bars and metals on the car are alloys of some sort. Alloys are mixtures of metals to get certain properties needed that not only one metal can produce. Many metals need to be bent at precise angles but still need to be extremely strong. Alloy combinations have changed throughout the evolution of the sport. The text states One of the first widely used alloys was bronze (copper and tin); followed by brass (copper and zinc). The benefits of an alloy over a pure metal can include increased tensile strength, and shear strength ( harberger). The multiple combinations show that as more alloys were discovered they utilized them if the provided any advantage. Some of the first alloys used in the cars used copper as a main element in the mixture. Mixing these elements gave the meatal the best of both worlds. It could increase more than one type of strength when a pure metal was only good for one. As time evolved other elements such as carbon got a key role in the alloys. The author states The body panels have a lower carbon steel, which is lighter, while the chassis, which has to withstand great forces during the race and protect the driver, is made of higher carbon steel that is designed to hold its shape while withstanding the g force pressures (hartberger). The more carbon steel the more rigid and strong the alloy becomes. The body must be light and flexible so it contains less carbon
  • 40. The Causes Of Hurricane Katrina When I think about Hurricane Katrina, what first comes to mind is the overwhelming ineptitude of the federal, state and local authorities and agencies charged with planning for and dealing with the aftermath of such a disaster. On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast of the United States. As a result of the hurricane force winds in excess of 140 miles per hour and the accompanying storm surge, the levee system in New Orleans was overwhelmed and many of the levees simply washed away. Low lying neighborhoods, such as St. Bernard Parish and the Ninth Ward were under so much that people had to scramble to attics and rooftops for safety. No American city in modern times had ever been ravaged by floods in such a way. Over a year prior to Katrina, in June 2004, FEMA conducted a five day exercise which simulated a storm ( Hurricane Pam ) in which New Orleans was completely devastated. (FEMA 2004). The purpose of this drill, which included emergency officials from 50 parishes, state, federal and volunteer organizations, was supposed to help officials develop joint response plans for a catastrophic hurricane. According to Ron Castleman, the FEMA Regional Director at the time: We made great progress this week in our preparedness efforts, Disaster response teams developed action plans in critical areas such as search and rescue, medical care, sheltering, temporary housing, school restoration and debris management. These plans are essential for quick

Parenchymal cells are main cells responsible for create of clotting factors, albumin, and fibrinogen. Albumin is the most significant amount of protein in the plasma formation by the liver and is a useful indicator of liver function, because the half life of the albumin in serum is much than (20 days), and the level of serum albumin is not a reliable indicator of protein synthesis in the liver in acute liver disease. The site of albumin synthesis is only in the liver. In the patients sever from liver cirrhosis and ascites usually have low serum level. The normal serum range (3.5g/dl 4.5 g/dl). Serum albumin levels tend to be naturally occurring in diseases such as acute viral hepatitis, liver and obstructive jaundice drug related poisoning.
