Kids Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Kids Essay" might seem deceptively simple at first glance, but
it presents its own unique set of challenges. Crafting an essay that is engaging and accessible to a
younger audience requires a delicate balance between simplicity and substance.
Understanding the cognitive and emotional development of children is crucial, as the language
and concepts used must be age-appropriate. Striking this balance can be tricky, as too much
simplicity may lead to a lack of depth, while overly complex language may alienate the intended
readers.
Moreover, addressing a diverse audience of children with varying interests and backgrounds
poses another layer of complexity. Finding a universal theme that appeals to a broad spectrum of
young readers is essential, but it requires thoughtful consideration to ensure inclusivity and
relatability.
Additionally, maintaining a child-friendly tone while conveying important ideas or messages
requires a skillful use of language. The challenge lies in avoiding condescension while still
effectively communicating the intended information.
Researching and gathering relevant material for a kids' essay is another hurdle. Resources must
be age-appropriate, accurate, and engaging to captivate the attention of young readers. The
process involves sifting through various materials to ensure they align with the educational and
entertainment needs of children.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic of "Kids Essay" demands more than just the ability
to put words on paper. It involves navigating the intricacies of child psychology, adapting
language to a younger audience, selecting suitable themes, and providing informative yet
entertaining content. It is a task that requires both creativity and precision to effectively
communicate with the intended readership.

Have you ever wondered if it s possible to rid yourself of the debilitating thoughts
that plague your mind? Is there a way to completely ignore the harsh statements that
you say in your private thoughts? As a matter of fact, are your thoughts private, or
can others sense what you are thinking?
Psychiatrist, psychologist and other medical professionals; inspirational and
motivational speakers and authors; pastors and teachers alike have proven that you
attract into your life whatever is in alignment with your dominant thoughts and
emotions. Scientists believe that humans have an average of 70,000 thoughts per
day... that s almost 49 thoughts per minute. With this many thoughts racing across
your mind is it possible to control which thought will get your attention the most?
Sure it is!
The Bible teaches to ask for, seek out, and knock on the door of opportunities. The
church refers to this as faith. The metaphysical profession hypothesize that our

Global Petroleum Industry
HISTORY
From the start of the global petroleum industry in the early 1900s, both industry and
the government have recognized the problem that temperature induced changes in
volume of fuel are present for inventory control. The petroleum products, like most
other liquids, expand when heated and contract when cooled i.e. the amount of fuel in
the inventories of retailer changes with the weather. Following a study of the issue
conducted by the American Petroleum Institute from 1912 to 1917, the United States
and Great Britain established the standard measure for petroleum products: at an
ambient temperature of 60 degrees F, 231 cubic inches equals a gallon [1]
It is known that every type of liquid, expand and contract within the space they
occupy if the temperature variation takes place. The increase in temperature will
cause a liquid to expand and occupy a slightly larger volume than the volume which
was occupied by the liquid at the initial point. The converse is also true, as decrease
in temperature of the liquid will cause the liquid to contract in volume. Usually, the
volume changes due to change in temperature variation directly varies with the
density of the liquid i.e. the less dense a liquid is, the greater its capacity to expand
and contract with equivalent temperature variations.
It is to be noted that these expansion and contraction due to temperature variations
only apply as long as the material remains a liquid. Liquids after reaching a
temperature point where a
Early Christian Persecutions
In the first three centuries of the early Christian church. The church was being
martyred and treated badly by the Roman population. There were many reasons that
the Romans persecuted Christians. Although many people thought the reason was
because the Christians refused to worship the Roman gods or take part in the
sacrifices. But, that was only part the reason that the Romans actually persecuted
Christians. The Romans just hated the Christians in general because of their
teachings of the Lord. Since the fifth century we have been able to count ten of the
major persecutions in the early Christian church which are: Persecution under Nero
(c. 64 68). Traditional martyrdoms of Peter and Paul. Persecution under Domitian (r.
81 96). Persecution... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is believed that Nero started the fires by himself to rebuild rome into a Greek
culture, but that is not true. Nero was not at Rome when the fire s happened in
Rome, so he started blaming the Christians for starting the fires in Rome to create
a distraction to draw attention from himself. Nero was said to be one of the most
cruel roman emperors of all time. Some of the ways he persecuted Christians was
by nailing them to a cross to bleed to death, and had meat tied to them and releasing
wild beast in the Colosseum for amusement. The Romans also tied the Christians
to wooden post and lit them on fire for the use of torches. Later on in 112 AD a
Roman Governor called Pliny the Younger was sent to Rome by the emperor
Trajan. While Pliny the Younger was visiting Rome he ran into some Christians
and had a talk with them. After he talked to some of the Christians he sent a letter
saying that he had ordered for more Christians to be persecuted. But he had no idea
of what to do with the people who were no longer Christians and asked Trajin for his
thoughts on the whole thing. Trajin responded by saying that if the Christians
recanted and worshiped the roman gods they would be set free. But if they didn t
they would continue to be persecuted and so it
The Importance Of Physical Activity Among The Youth
Physical Activity Among the Youth The greater the amount of physical activity
engaged by the youth, the greater the health benefit (Rachele). In a different era,
children used to roam the streets on their bikes going to a friend s house; they
would play tag, football, and other games just to pass the time. However, with the
latest developments in modern technology, regular physical activity has declined
for the average child. More children are opting to stay inside watching television or
playing on a tablet instead of enjoying their time outside. There are many aspects
that go into a child s active lifestyle, and how active they are when they are younger
shapes the rest of their life. Throughout human history, many disease epidemics
have occurred at some points in time; influenza, smallpox, and ebola are some
examples that caused a major outbreak, affecting millions of people s health. Today
a new epidemic is arising among America s youth: obesity. Obesity is a major
concern because of the plethora of problems that are associated with it; it may lead
to cardiovascular diseases developing later in life, chronic respiratory diseases, and
much more (WГіjcicki). However, this is not any new, startling information since the
steady incline of adolescent physical inactivity can be directly related to obesity
related health issues (WГіjcicki). Physical activity has reached an all time low in the
youth, and it is said that some type of intervention is needed to help cope
Why Did Diocletian Reform The Roman Empire
Diocletian understood that ruling over a major political entity like the Roman
Empire was too difficult for one ruler. This lead to the first major political reform
of the Roman Empire. Diocletian s solution to this problem was the tetrarchy.
Diocletian divide the empire into 4 territories that were all ruled by a separate
leader. The tetrarchy was to help bring the empire back to the ways of the Good
Emperors where the succession of power was peaceful. Diocletianwanted the
Emperors to select their successors from the ranks of the nobles. After Diocletian s
retirement in 305 CE, his hope for a smooth transition of power quickly turned into
complete chaos. Diocletian also tried to reform the economy of the empire to provide
it with stimulation.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Visigoths were being forced into the empire the Huns and there leader Attila. The
Visigoth eventually settled in the areas of Spain and Gaul were they won the right to
settle. Roman had been importing slaves, servants, and soldiers into the empire. It
wasn t until the population of the Visigoths in the Empire increased that the peaceful
arrangement ended. The Romans treated the Visigoth poorly which led to the
Visigoths rebelling against Valens at the Battle of Adrianople and defeating him.
When the defeat of Valens, the Romans allowed the barbicans to form settlements in
the center of the empire. The Vandals, within three decades, had gained control over
northwest Africa and the majority of the Mediterranean. The Burgundians came into
the Empire right after the Vandals and settled in Gaul. The Franks settle in north and
central Gaul.
How did these tribes take over such a mighty empire so easily? The invaders were
successful because they came in rapid succession upon badly overextend Western
empire divided politically by ambitious military commanders and weakened by
decades of famine pestilence and over taxation (KOTF 184). The Romans tried to
assimilate the barbarians in to their armies. This barbarizing of the army just lead to a
further weakening of the army. By the middle of the 5th century, the power of the
Roman Empire had been passed from the Emperors to

Amish Demographic Report
Descriptive epidemiology focus on how a disease is spread within a population. This
can be done in three different approaches such as counts, case series, and cross
sectional studies. The observation of the Amish population in Lancaster, PA favors
the application of the cross sectional method of descriptive epidemiology.
Analyzing the population health in the Amish group requires some understanding of
the Amish people. It is a special population where their perspectives on health is
shaped by their religious beliefs and cultures. The Amish settled in four counties in
Pennsylvania with an estimate of 44, 106 people were approximately 35,000 reside
in Lancaster county. Their beliefs and values rooted from the bible which resulted
in living a life of self surrender, submission, yielding to the will of God and to
others, contentment, and a calm spirit . To date the Amish don t use electricity, don
t own a personal car, don t use public transportation except for major reason. Formal
education stops at eight grade; very few Amish, have a high school diploma, or a
college degree. Consequently, most of the them live below the poverty level. ... Show

The Amish is less likely to seek medical attention for minor issues. As noted in The
Amish Study web page the Amish society accepts responsibility for their own actions
and chooses not to depend on services offered by the state. For example, Amish
communities opt out of the government funded insurance, including the Affordable
Care Act. This Act allows employees of large companies to acquire health insurance
and allows insurance options for low income individuals and families. As a result, this
society thrives on helping each other and sharing each other s burdens. To assist one
another, they willingly offer donations when a member of their community becomes
ill. When illness arises, persons often tend to postpone seeking treatment until the last
Texas Teen Affluenza Case Analysis
The story I chose for this week s discussion board happened in Forth worth Texas in
in late 2013/early 2014 and it is about the Texas teen Affluenza case . The case was
about Ethan Couch a 16 year old boy in Forth worth Texas who while driving under
the influence of alcohol,( alcohol that him and his friends apparently have stolen
from a store), crashed his car and killed four people and injured two. Ethan s
lawyer hired a psychologist who testified that he was a victim of affluenza, the
product of wealthy, privileged parents who never set limits for the boy so cannot be
held responsible for his action because of that. Although, the Judge ruled for the
plaintiffs, Ethan was sent to 10 year probation in a rehab facility in Newport Beach
The Expression Of Thoughts Of Self Harm By F4
This incident presents several demands for works and is complex as a result of
what was disclosed by F4. The expression of thoughts of self harm by F4 put the
facilitators in the very difficult position of having to not focus on an individual
and to stay focused on the group as a whole. Though it is assumed that this is a
difficult task for social workers in a general sense, I am of the opinion that when a
potentially serious and/or a complex issue arise that it increases the difficulty. The
group member that disclosed the thought of self harm felt safe and connected,
which is why she was able to disclose such intimate thoughts with the group. The
fact that F4 was able to share such information is a positive reflection on the mutual
aid of this group, though it may have been too much too soon or not appropriate,
because of the nature of the disclosure. This is not to imply that it was easy for her
to disclose what she did and it clearly was not easy for the group to hear this
information. The disclosure of thoughts of self harm by F4, which she felt was a
result of the stress she was under, is the first demand for work to be examined. Self
harm is not to be confused with suicidal behavior; self harmers say that inflicting
pain on themselves does make them feel better and it is used to make life more
manageable (Thornton, 2015, p. 189). This disclosure is complex as she comfortable
with disclosing the thought of using self harm to cope with the stress, which is the

Racism and Stereotype in Karl Linder s Speech
Racism is a fatal flaw in human society. Whole cultures could be eradicated or
brought to the brink of destruction, such as when Adolf Hitler, leader of the Nazi
regime, brought on the Holocaust. In his efforts to bring the Jews to extinction he
captured and imprisoned the Jews into concentration camps separated from the rest of
society. Karl Linder in his efforts to keep the community of Clybourne Park pure for
his growing family, attempts to assert dominance over the Stoller family (the
Caucasian family moving away) and the Younger family (the African American
family moving in), as if attempting to create a reverse concentration camp. He uses
deceptive language, racial propaganda, and his position of power to influence the
world... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On pages twenty eight through twenty nine, Karl initially ignores Bev s requests to
be informed of what Karl was explaining to Russ and Jim the upcoming residents of
the household, that is until she questioned his logic by asking [b]ut don t they [the
Youngers] have needs, too? (Norris). After the rejection of his bribe produced by
his leadership role in the Community Association by Walter Younger in A Raisin in
the Sun, instead of arguing with the large man, he retreats and attempts to
convince the Stollers to either stay in Clybourne Park or to deny the house to the
Youngers. Another example of his cowardice towards men is on page forty, where
he taunts Russ about his threat to punch Jim in the face by saying that Russ s
actions were very masculine in a sarcastic tone and the Russ was mentally unstable
as he started to retreat from Russ and proceeded to go through the door (Norris 40).
Though Karl made bad decisions throughout his efforts to keep the community
ethnical pure , he had the best intention at heart. His racists views keeps viewers
from seeing that fact, a critic of the play named Kevin D. Williamson said it best by
saying that Lindner is a oleaginous, conniving, and cowardly, but he is not evil nor is
he motivated by malice, but has sincere concern for the stability of the neighbor, the
cohesion of the community, and the vacillations of the real estate market. This is

Essay On Transient Stability
Rotor Angle Stability Classification and Assessment Technique
This chapter proposes a hybrid stability assessment method, i.e., combine both time
domain and direct methods, for detection, classification and assessment of the
transient and small signal dynamic stability. The proposed energy function in chapter
3 is used to calculate the system energy. Then, the overall system energy is compared
to the sum of the critical energies of the critical series components which can be
determined using the proposed time to instability index. The HVDC system impact on
the system stability assessment technique is also discussed. A termination criterion
for stable cases is proposed to expand the proposed method capability to the dynamic

Moreover, the expected separation area(s), i.e., power system islands, and the
critical series components, i.e., islands boundaries using the equivalent of parallel
components, are not accurately determined. The simplest example of the direct
methods is the EAC. The EAC method is enhanced to be applicable to multi
machine systems, i.e., extended equal area criterion (EEAC) [82]. The EEAC
method reduces the interconnected system into a two equivalent machine system or
a single machine infinite bus. Hence, this method can be used only for the classical
generator equivalent model, i.e., swing equation model or second order model
[76],[6]. An attempt has been made to overcome the limitations of both time domain
and Lyapunov like functions by combining them, i.e., hybrid methods [6],[5]. The
hybrid method also can be the result of combining time domain and EEAC methods
[83], i.e., Single Machine Equivalent (SIME) Method, to allow the use of detailed
generator models. However, they are valid only for unstable cases and fault duration
relatively close to the fault clearing time [76]. Also, all direct methods depend on the
fault on trajectory [84] which is not accurate for a fault followed by tripping a line
and it is not valid for other contingencies not associated with faults. Machine learning/
pattern recognition techniques also are used for transient stability
The Definition Of Fearless By Adam Brown
Fearless, what does it mean? Fearless can be used in many different scenarios.
With Adam Brown, he was fearless in many different ways. He was fearless in his
faith with God, in his overcoming of drug addiction, with his family and friends,
and even on the battlefield. He went through many situations in his life that people
would normally find crazy or terrifying, but he had dealt with without fear. Adam
was the perfect example of the definition of fearless. The definition of fearless is
lacking fear. Some synonyms would be brave, courageous, heroic, and daring. In
this novel it is apparent that Adam is described as all of these words. Adam has
been known to be fearless since the beginning. On page 13 it says, Soon after his
second birthday, Janice glanced out the living room window and saw that Adam
had pushed a chair across the back porch and was using it to climb up on the
railing twelve feet above the ground. As a two year old he climbed up 12 feet and
jumped off the railing. He was not afraid of getting hurt, he knew that if he got hurt
he would just get right back up and it would be perfectly fine. His fearlessness had
carried on as he got older and was really helpful in his sports. For example, on page
28 the author explained how Adam wouldn t give up in football during the Alley
Drill after getting pummeled and pummeled. The only way he would stop is when
the coaches would finally call the drill. Adam was determined to be the best in
football and him not being afraid of failure really helped him out with that. On
page 34, Adam had decided to jump off the bridge from a moving vehicle. He saw
a video of Navy SEALS doing it, and right then and there he felt like he needed to
do it too. A bunch of his friends had told him that it was dangerous and there was
no way they were doing it, This shows Adams fearlessness as well. Adam s
fearlessness had helped him with his friends and his family. For example, on page
40 41 Adam had walked up to a guy who was threatening to shoot him and his friends
with a shotgun, and told him to shoot him. They were driving around one night and
some guys from Little Rock had almost swerved them off the road. Adam and his
friends had confronted them. These guys ended up
Parental Neglect By Roald Dahl s Matilda And Neil
Gaiman...
Child abuse, in any form, is cause for outrage. This makes the question of whether
neglect, benign or otherwise, is better than violence hard to consider. According to
Canada s Public Health Agency, parental neglect, at 34% of cases, is the most
commonly reported form of child maltreatment (31). In Roald Dahls Matilda and Neil
Gaiman s Coraline, parental neglect is contrasted against violence as both are shown
to be psychologically detrimental to a child, while the impact of these imperfect
parents is able to help a child redefine their sense of self.
The overt neglect of her prodigal intellect experienced by Matilda leaves her
feeling misunderstood and an outsider in her family which differs from the
perceived neglect which leaves Coraline struggling with her sense of self. Born to
parents described as gormless (Dahl 4), Matilda is both blessed and cursed with a
prodigal intellect. Causing Matilda to crave knowledge, it is her intellect that leads
her at the age of four years and three months (9), to defy her parents and everyday
walk to the library. Matilda admits to this neglect to Mrs. Phelps, the librarian, when
she tells her of her mother, She doesn t encourage reading books. Nor does my father
(10). With this statement Matilda shows how her parents have neglected to foster her
intellect. Matilda s eagerness to digest information, and the fact that the only book in
the Wormwood home is her mother s cookbook, elaborates how she differs from her
parents.

Waiting For Godot Literary Analysis
Literary texts such as short stories, poems, and dramatic texts are usually read for
pleasure and entertainment. They may be a haven for some who want to take a
break from reality. When one reads, he or she plunges into a new space, or a new
world, created by the author s imagination. At the same time, the reader is also seeing
life and reality through the author s eyes. Literature reflects the human life and
condition in a way that it enables readers to relate with the characters and their
situations. It depicts how humans try to cling to life and search for its meaning and
purpose. However, life is truly meaningless and humans just create the illusion of
desire to justify their own existence. Some may think that characters from a story,...

Vladimir and Estragon are humans, and their repeated scenario is life. Life is
meaningless. Man just makes up the desire, the Godot, the illusion that life has
meaning that he gives himself to justify his own existence in this world. He
continuously waits for Godot, even though he is not certain if he will ever come.
While they wait, they get distractions in Pozzo and Lucky, which makes them believe
that something is actually happening. Like in a man s life, he has distractions while
waiting for his desire to arrive. And because he feels that something is happening, he
is led to believe that life is not nothing after all and that he is heading somewhere
because something is happening.
Throughout the play, Estragon repeatedly tells Vladimir that they should leave and
abandon the wait, but Vladimir would always remind him that they cannot go and
that We re waiting for Godot. (Beckett 443) Vladimir and Estragon are actually man
s two sides of thinking: Estragon is his nagging thought: what if life is truly
meaningless? What if this Godot is not really coming and this long wait is all for
nothing? But he also has Vladimir who reminds him: But what if you leave and

Aristotle s Poetics And The Order Of The Phoenix
Poetic Thinking
(An Essay Applying Aristotle s Poetics to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix)
Aristotle was a philosopher who revolutionized the world of theater with his essay
entitled Poetics. Poetics is focused on what Aristotle viewed to be the ultimate form
of theater, Tragedy. Aristotle thought that Theater should be a representation of real
life. Shakespeare also followed this line of thinking as described in As you Like it,
All the world s a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their
exits and their entrances, In the essay, Poetics, the six basic elements of a great
tragedy are outlined; the most important parts being plot, character, and thought.
Aristotle s essay can be used to critique classical theater as well as more modern
theater such as films. The film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix can be
classified as a great tragedy, according to Aristotle, because it utilizes complex plot,
invokes pity and fear on the main character s behalf, and is connected by plot
instead of by character. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix follows a
climactic plotline over the span of a year. As said by Aristotle, climactic plotlines
are far superior to episodic plots. Aristotle states, Plots of this kind are constructed
by bad poets...they stretch the plot beyond what it can bear and are often compelled,
therefore, to dislocate the natural order. Luckily, the plot of Harry Potter and Order
of the Phoenix follows an upward
Native Americans And American History
Native Americans have remained a prominent aspect of American history; not just a
history of the people, but a history of the land and the extensive traditions that
shadowed it, like footprints in the sand. However, when the Europeans staggered over
with indifference towards the natives and their unusual customs, a conflict erupted
that dates back hundreds of years and continues into the present. As the United States
grew further more intolerant of the natives, the daring judgment to either assimilate
into the American society, or face extinction of the Indian race and culture was
presented. Some natives elected to conform to American culture, while abandoning
their Indian heritage. Like immigrants, who presently migrate into America,... Show

The Society s pleas to the federal government proved successful when Congress
created the Indian Claims Commission, which would settle Native grievances with
the American government, in 1946 (2). As the years persisted, so did the
transformation of the Cherokee people, noted as the Cherokee Culture Change in the
1800s. In 1804, the Moravians opened a school, which taught Cherokee children how
to be civilized . The children were taught how to speak, dress, and practice
Christianity. The young boys were instructed on farming techniques, and the
adolescent girls were trained to be docile and submissive (3).
One of the most ingenious adaptions to the American society was the system of
writing for the official Cherokee language. Sequoyah crafted eighty six symbols for
each sound, consequently enabling numerous Cherokees to learn how to read and
write. Adding on to their countless accomplishments from assimilation into American
culture, the Cherokee commenced the launch of the Cherokee Phoenix, a newspaper
which expressed the opinions, viewpoints, and rich history of the Cherokee Nation(3).
The most significant reasoning for the Natives assimilation into American society
was a desire for an advanced life; disassociated from the worsening conditions on the
reservations, and the fatal massacres brought

Critical Analysis Of Aldo Leopold s Thinking Like A
Mountain
Aldo Leopold s Thinking Like a Mountain (1949), was intended to convince the
public, through beautiful and eloquent language, that wildlife conservation is an
important implementation and that people should not be trying to make the world a
human centric ecosystem.
During his time, Aldo Leopold was a conservationist who believed in the longevity of
the land and that we should protect it, even if we must protect the land from
ourselves. While this was an unpopular opinion, realizing that the land and animals
naturally work together in a symbiotic relationship to protect one another was very
apparent to Leopold. He believed that humans should be doing our best to lessen our
impact on the environment. Time has caught up with Leopold s ideologies and it is
time that our efforts and contributions to the earth did too.
Gathering sympathy for a force known for causing harm to a resource that helps
and provides for humans isn t the easiest of things. Humans are known for
protecting their resources from harm and allowing them to flourish. By attempting
to make us sympathize with a force that kills off a valuable asset, Leopold also
expands and allows us to think beyond the current moment and current assets, letting
us see a bigger picture. A human centric mindset is very common in Leopold s age
and even in today s world. We, as a society, hold humans and our needs above those
of other animals, the earth and even other humans. We re always needing more to
sustain an unsustainable lifestyle and although we manage to acquire more resources,
we often do so without realizing the consequences of our actions on those around us.
Leopold s article Thinking Like a Mountain is not a persuasive piece filled with facts
and data. It is a personal story that uses passion and deep emotion, also known as
pathos, to let the reader see through his eyes for a split second. Forcing his point of
view to be seen to allow the public to sympathize. His word choice is mainly towards
those that are more emotionally charged rather than scientific words which imply a
choice in taking a more empathetic or emotional oriented route with his readers.
By using very intricate and ornate words to try and bring his readers into the story and
Truth In R. K. Narayan s Like The Sun
Like the Sun , written by R. K. Narayan, is talking about a man called Sekhar who
experienced a day with telling absolute truth to other people. In the morning, he told
the truth to his wife that her cooking was horrible. After that, he objected to his
colleague with someone s death. When his headmaster asked him to listen to his
music, he made a bad comment on his headmaster s music. He tried to tell the truthfor
all day. However, he got a punishment from his wife and headmaster. Through this
story, Narayan shows that it is not beneficial to hear the absolute the truth because the
truth is always hurtful, and people might get punishment by telling the truth. Morally,
we should tell the truth to other people. However, the truth could
Security Issues in International Relations Are Best...
Security Issues are Most Effectively Addressed by a Neo Realist Approach to
International Relations. Discuss.
Security has been the source for much debate within International Relations; ranging
from the optimum way to provide security, through to the definition of security itself.
Neo Realism has, in the past, been the dominant approach to security issues within
International Relations. However, in the past few decades events such as the end of
the Cold War, international terrorism and globalisation have dramatically changed the
world, which has only intensified the debate over which approach most effectively
addresses security issues within International Relations. This essay seeks to argue that
although, at one time it may have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Neo liberals are prepared to go to war but it is generally accepted as a last resort, with
the use of economic sanctions the preferred security method; the belief of peace via
co operation. Neo liberals view sanctions as a means of preventing a rogue state from
violating the international norms (Martin, 1992). The neo liberal understanding of
the international community lies within increasing interconnectedness and the utility
of international institutions such as the EU and UN. The security of Israel has
weakened in recent years due to threat posed by Iran and their suspected research into
the development of nuclear weapons. In 2005 the EU imposed trade sanctions on Iran
due to resuming of nuclear activities (European Commission, 2012). A form of
collective security occurs when all states stand to lose something from war; collective
insecurity leads to security. Kant would argue that even though the international
system is anarchic, alliances and treaties still exist as a form of power and security.
Buzan (1991) takes this further stating that although economic activity can generate
many different factions within in a state, the international economy itself becomes
powerfully tied together trade, finance and communication.
As previously mentioned, neo realists place an emphasis upon security via military
power, and whilst there is no denying that military security is
American Nurses Association Code Of Ethics
Provisions within the Code of Ethics
I chose to analyze provision three contained in the American Association Code of
Ethics. Provision three explores a nurses daily duty as it relates to patient rights as
well as safety and patient privacy. In addition to other healthcare related
responsibilities a nurse is effectively, a valuable patient advocate who must work to
ensure that patients are treated fairly and competently, not only from the nursing
staff, but all caregivers. (American Nurses Association). If a situation concerning
incompetent care from other healthcare providers should arise, the nurse must assess
issue on behalf of the patient and initiate action to have the issue corrected.
According to provision three of the ANA code of ethics, nursing staff should be

Similarities.
It s clear that the similarities between the ANA and ACHE code of ethics centers
around patient welfare. Both enforce the importance of patient advocacy and the
continued practice of ethical behavior. Additionally both sources encourage not only
integrity but compliance to state and federal laws and regulations. (American College

sources is the reassurance that there will be no retaliation for reporting unethical

Burke And Anna s Life In Hungary
Life in Hungary
Living in Europe was a dream of Burke and Anna s. An opportunity in 2011 to teach
young children in Hungary to speak English was just what they needed to pack their
bags and move to Hungary for 6 months. They became volunteer teachers for local
schools in Hungary. Burke and Anna taught children of all different ages.
They stayed in the city of Szeged, Hungary. The apartment they were living in was
very large and inexpensive for the size of the apartment, however it was very
outdated. Living in Hungary was a very different experience for Burke and Anna. For
example, they were perplexed when they found that the washing machine was in the
bathroom. Washing their clothing was something they had never heard of before. ...

I asked them if they met anyone special in there time spent in Hungary. They
responded by telling me a story about a boy named Norby. Norby was one of the
young children they taught. While learning English Norby could be described as
Tigger, always excited and having so much to say. His dream was to work for the
Peace Corps and he knew he needed to be a great English speaker to do so.
according to Burke and Anna. Norby would talk to Burke and Anna as much as
possible. One time he even invited them to dinner at his house. Burke and Anna
gladly agreed to to have dinner with Norby and his family. Something they learned
about Norby was he was the only one in his family that spoke English. We did our
best to communicate with them and, by the end, we were all laughing and having a
great time together, even though we couldn t actually speak the same language. It is
one of our favorite memories from our time there. Burke and Anna said. It is
important when traveling the world to meet new people. Meeting new people
especially in a different country can open your eyes to lots of new experiences and
you can also learn so many new things.
Burke and Anna experienced so many special moments during their 6 month stay in
Hungary. One in particular moment that stood out to them is a time to a Hungarian
dog show. One of the teachers from their school had a dog competing. In Hungary
they have so many dog breeds that Burke and Anna never heard of before. They had
so much fun and saw super cute dogs. That was one of Burke and Anna s most

Tp53 Gene Essay
The gene most associated with HCC is the TP53 gene, which is a tumor suppressor
gene universal among many cancers. The p53 protein, when turned off, can
mistakenly cause cancer since they are normally turned on (Rhine 4). When normal,
the TP53 gene assures that cells do not grow beyond where the should, meaning they
have anchorage dependence and density dependent inhibition. When damaged,
abnormal cells and the formation of HCC can occur since the P53 protein is
involved in cell cycle functions and apoptosis, because it does not stop the cells from
accumulating mutations over time if its function is degraded (ВЁ Do We Know

Persuasive Essay On Prescription Opioids
According to the National Institutes of Health, prescription opioids are chemically
made to have a similar result as endorphins, which is the body s natural pain
reliever (NIDA, 2017). Prescription opioids must be prescribed by a physician and
are often prescribed to treat severe pain such as post surgical recovery, chronic pain,
cancer, or serious injuries. Prescription opioids should be used by the patient the
physician prescribed them to and used as directed due to the potential risk of abuse
and dependency. However, prescription opioids are being misused and causing an
opioid crisis in the United Statesof America.
Background
A national crisis is occurring due to the misuse of opioids including prescription
pain relievers, heroin and synthetic opioids. According to the National Institute on
Drug Abuse, every day more than 90 Americans die from overdosing on opioids
(NIH, 2017). The United States opioid crisis goes as far back as the late 1990s
when physicians were educated by the pharmaceutical companies that patients
would not become addicted to opioids and started to prescribe the more often. The
incorrect information given by the pharmaceutical companies lead to widespread
diversion and misuse of the medications which has now lead to a public health
crisis. Due to the increase misuse of opioids in the last 15 years, there has been an
increase in the number of emergency room visits, increase in the number of deaths
related to overdose, and increase in the

Compare And Contrast Christianity And Judaism
Comparing and Contrasting Christianity to Judaism
There is a close relationship between Christianity and Judaism both from a theological
and historical perspective. The similarities between these two religious platforms
emanates from the notion that Christianity arose and protested from Judaism.
However, it is worth noting that Christianity is not a continuation of Judaism as some
people perceive. Both Jesus and most of his disciples, who pioneered the earliest
Christian churches, were Jews. Particularly, Jesus family practiced and followed
Jewish beliefs, and He frequently referenced the Hebrew bible. On the contrary, the
disciples believed that Jesus was the one and only Messiah, which is predicted in the
Jewish Bible. While the creation narrative is still mysterious to many people, most
individuals are still obsessed with the attempt to discover how everything came to
existence. The primary purpose of this paper is to compare and contrast the basic
ideologies of Christianity and Judaism (Neusner, 76).
The primary similarity between Judaism and Christianity is based on the notion
that they regard sin as a rebellion. They affirm that God, through his word, has
made his will well known to all people. Thus, it is a sin to live contrary to this set
will of God and there are consequences. More so, both religions consider God as
being all powerful and supreme and though he allows people to sin, he confines the
freedom. The religions consider that God allows sin as a means of
The Buying Process Through Fashion Blogs
Firstly, I would like to point that the ten young women who were interviewed were
extremely helpful for this research. The answers given during the interviews helped
to support the theory developed for the research.
Thanks to this research and after the answers analyze, we can say that at the
beginning stages of the buying process, some consumers read fashion blogs because
they are looking for inspiration and new ideas for shopping, so they do a lot of
information research. They already have the shopping motivation and this motivation
is using fashion blogs for being satisfied. I think this is half of the sales road for
companies: they already have thousands of motivated customers looking for some
products which can satisfy their needs. This is the moment when companies have to
be present on blogs. Here, the potential customer has no need for just one specific
product, but he might be inspired by the products displayed in the blog, which can
lead to purchasing that would not have occurred otherwise. This is the sales power of
blogs.
On the other hand, many consumers said they use fashion blogs when they want to
find some products reviews. This reason and the previous one show us consumers
use fashion blogs an information research tool. According to this last reason, looking
for product reviews, we have to keep in mind that in these cases, the desire for the
product is strong, eliminating so called impulse purchases. They know what they
want. This is a really important

As already stated, this is when Ralph is voted in as chief, giving him control over
the boys. Also, this is when Ralph makes one of his biggest blunders, giving Jack
control over the hunters. Both of these events are very important to later events in
the story, notably when Jack leaves the tribe to form his own and his hunters
follow. However, that is not the only reason this scene is important. This scene is
great to use to see how far the boys have lost civil manners. Just a day after, or
maybe less, after the crash, they still are civilized and it would be crazy to call
them savages. They even voted on chief instead of one of them just taking over.
Therefore, we can compare the events later in the book to this scene to see how far
they have lost civil manners. Although Jack lost the chance to be voted chief later in
the book once they are back from the search for the beast, it doesn t stop him from
just ignoring the vote and forming his tribe. Compare that to when he accepts the
vote in this scene, despite losing, and it shows they no longer respect authority or the
rules that help keep civilization together, making this scene very useful to compare to
later
Species Boundaries
Within the study of evolution, the concept of a species and the mechanisms that
create and maintain species boundaries are very important. In order to understand
the fossil record and how a species can split into two or more separate species,
researches must first define what they consider a species to be. There are two main
competing theories about species, the biological species concept (BSC) and the
ecological species concept (ESC). The biological species concept states that geneflow
is the key to keeping groups cohesive and isolated. A species is considered to be a
group of interbreeding organisms that are reproductively isolated from other groups
of organisms. Therefore, members of each distinct group cannot mate successfully
with other groups. Gene flow is what... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, some species remain the same with out gene flow between groups (Boyd and
Silk 2000:97 99, Ridley 1993:393).
Natural selection acts as reinforcement to prevent dissimilar groups from producing
hybrid species. Since hybrids are less fit, selection favors behavioral and
morphological adaptations that prevent mating between groups. Reinforcement acts
to reduce gene flow between groups in order to reduce the number of unfit offspring
which reproductively isolates species to the point where they cannot interbreed at
all. In the case of mules, who are hybrids of horses and donkeys, they are not less
capable of competition with other animals, but they are less fit because they are
unable to reproduce and get their genes into the next generation (Boyd and
Silk 2000:103, Ridley 1993:394).
In actuality, these two species concepts are not very distinct and neither is more valid
or useful. Both theories can explain the mechanisms that cause different species to
arise and remain distinct. If populations are not being selected upon, then gene flow
is the mechanism keeping them separate. If selection is very strong, then it is
probably the factor that is isolating

Kurt Cobain Theory

head. (Cross, 2014). Cobain was at a raise during his time, he pushed limits into his
music, creating a grunge style influencing the fashion and music industry single
handily. His band, Nirvana was the biggest and most significant band of his
generation in the early 90s. He was only 27 years old at the time of his death, but the
question is what lead the Nirvana rock star to suicide? Freud s psychodynamic theory
of personality states the importance of early childhood development, and it could
be said that childhood experiences could have possibly played a role in Cobain s
suicide. On February 20, 1967, Cobain was born to be the center attention of his
family, he was the first child. At three years old his parents birthed his younger
sister, that s when things changed, and he didn t receive all the attention as he used

because of this Cobain s psychological development would become affected into his
adolescent years. After the divorced Cobain was never in a stable home, jumping
from living with father to his grandparents, aunts, and uncles houses. According to

Identifying The Specific Identification Of Tracking And...
The specific identification method refers to the tracking and costing of inventory
based on the movement of specific, identifiable inventory items in and out of stock.
This method is applicable when individual items can be clearly identified, such as
with a serial number, stamped receipt date, or RFID tag.
The specific identification method introduces a high degree of accuracy to the cost of
inventory, since the exact cost at which something was purchased can be recorded in
the inventory records, and charged to the cost of goods sold when the related item is
sold.
However, this method is rarely used, because there are few purchased products that
are clearly identified in a company s accounting records with a unique identification
code. Thus, it is typically restricted to unique, high value items for which such
differentiation is needed. Most organizations instead sell products that are essentially
interchangeable, and so are more likely to use a FIFO, LIFO, weighted average, or
similar system.
It is also very time consuming to track inventory on an individual unit basis, which
restricts its use to smaller inventory quantities.
The first in, first out (FIFO) method of inventory valuation is a cost flow
assumption that the first goods purchased are also the first goods sold. In most
companies, this assumption closely matches the actual flow of goods, and so is
considered the most theoretically correct inventory valuation method. The FIFO flow
concept is a logical one for a

The appointment and conformation to the Supreme Court has become on of the most

Some justices have even held congressional positions. In 1908 1912 William H.
Taft was president afterward he was appointed to the Court and then was named
chief justice in 1921. nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; Before 1936 there was a
religious biased to the court in that all of the justices that were appointed were
protestant. When Andrew Jackson appointed Roger B. Taney a catholic it broke the
protestant preeminence on the court.4 Another misrepresentation to the Supreme
Court was the geographical. In the courts pre civil war history it was assumed that
each region should have representation on the court, meaning that the larger more
populous states like Virginia, New York, and Massachusetts should have a seat on
the court. After the Civil war this tradition faded with the expansion of the United
States.2 nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp; nbsp;A total of six justices have been born out of
the United States all of whom served on the court before 1940. The first Justice to
be born outside the United States was James Wilson, in1742 and came to America
as a young man from Scotland. He was an original signer of the Declaration of
Independence and a member of the 1787 Constitutional Convention; he was also one
of the original members of the Supreme Court. One of the most important was
George Sutherland who came here from England and became a justice in 1922 and
was well known for constantly voting against most of Franklin
The Importance Of Violence In Sunday Bloody Sunday
Evil is extremely apparent in the world today, but for how long will people stand
idly by as it continues to worsen? The song Sunday Bloody Sunday, written by U2,
suggests that the only valid response to the violence that occurred in Northern Ireland
in the 1970s is condemnation. The writers not only condemn the brutality of that
time, but, in a broader sense, condemn violence as a whole, showing that there are no
positive outcomes to violence, only more violence. Therefore, people must rise up,
united against the violence that exists in this world today.
An important aspect that is important to understand, regarding the theme of Sunday
Bloody Sunday, is the historical context around which it was written. Although U2
wrote the song specifically about an event that took place on January 30, 1972, or
Bloody Sunday, the violence was a part of a more complicated and long running issue
between Ireland and England. This violence also took place as a result of a civil
rights movement in Ireland that occurred from 1968 to 1969. Many of these activists
looked up to people like Martin Luther King, Jr. for inspiration about peaceful protest.
Nonetheless, in 1969, after multiple occasions of violence at protests, the British
troops assumed riot duty (Pringle and Larson). This event became one of the inciting
incidents that led to the violence that happened on Bloody Sunday, only a few years
later.
The issues with protesting, despite the presence of British troops, did not

Crafting an essay that is engaging and accessible to a younger audience requires a delicate balance between simplicity and substance. Understanding the cognitive and emotional development of children is crucial, as the language and concepts used must be age-appropriate. • 3. Global Petroleum Industry HISTORY From the start of the global petroleum industry in the early 1900s, both industry and the government have recognized the problem that temperature induced changes in volume of fuel are present for inventory control. The petroleum products, like most other liquids, expand when heated and contract when cooled i.e. the amount of fuel in the inventories of retailer changes with the weather. Following a study of the issue conducted by the American Petroleum Institute from 1912 to 1917, the United States and Great Britain established the standard measure for petroleum products: at an ambient temperature of 60 degrees F, 231 cubic inches equals a gallon [1] It is known that every type of liquid, expand and contract within the space they occupy if the temperature variation takes place. The increase in temperature will cause a liquid to expand and occupy a slightly larger volume than the volume which was occupied by the liquid at the initial point. The converse is also true, as decrease in temperature of the liquid will cause the liquid to contract in volume. Usually, the volume changes due to change in temperature variation directly varies with the density of the liquid i.e. the less dense a liquid is, the greater its capacity to expand and contract with equivalent temperature variations. It is to be noted that these expansion and contraction due to temperature variations only apply as long as the material remains a liquid. Liquids after reaching a temperature point where a
  • 4. Early Christian Persecutions In the first three centuries of the early Christian church. The church was being martyred and treated badly by the Roman population. There were many reasons that the Romans persecuted Christians. Although many people thought the reason was because the Christians refused to worship the Roman gods or take part in the sacrifices. But, that was only part the reason that the Romans actually persecuted Christians. The Romans just hated the Christians in general because of their teachings of the Lord. Since the fifth century we have been able to count ten of the major persecutions in the early Christian church which are: Persecution under Nero (c. 64 68). Traditional martyrdoms of Peter and Paul. Persecution under Domitian (r. 81 96). Persecution... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is believed that Nero started the fires by himself to rebuild rome into a Greek culture, but that is not true. Nero was not at Rome when the fire s happened in Rome, so he started blaming the Christians for starting the fires in Rome to create a distraction to draw attention from himself. Nero was said to be one of the most cruel roman emperors of all time. Some of the ways he persecuted Christians was by nailing them to a cross to bleed to death, and had meat tied to them and releasing wild beast in the Colosseum for amusement. The Romans also tied the Christians to wooden post and lit them on fire for the use of torches. Later on in 112 AD a Roman Governor called Pliny the Younger was sent to Rome by the emperor Trajan. While Pliny the Younger was visiting Rome he ran into some Christians and had a talk with them. After he talked to some of the Christians he sent a letter saying that he had ordered for more Christians to be persecuted. But he had no idea of what to do with the people who were no longer Christians and asked Trajin for his thoughts on the whole thing. Trajin responded by saying that if the Christians recanted and worshiped the roman gods they would be set free. But if they didn t they would continue to be persecuted and so it
  • 5. The Importance Of Physical Activity Among The Youth Physical Activity Among the Youth The greater the amount of physical activity engaged by the youth, the greater the health benefit (Rachele). In a different era, children used to roam the streets on their bikes going to a friend s house; they would play tag, football, and other games just to pass the time. However, with the latest developments in modern technology, regular physical activity has declined for the average child. More children are opting to stay inside watching television or playing on a tablet instead of enjoying their time outside. There are many aspects that go into a child s active lifestyle, and how active they are when they are younger shapes the rest of their life. Throughout human history, many disease epidemics have occurred at some points in time; influenza, smallpox, and ebola are some examples that caused a major outbreak, affecting millions of people s health. Today a new epidemic is arising among America s youth: obesity. Obesity is a major concern because of the plethora of problems that are associated with it; it may lead to cardiovascular diseases developing later in life, chronic respiratory diseases, and much more (WГіjcicki). However, this is not any new, startling information since the steady incline of adolescent physical inactivity can be directly related to obesity related health issues (WГіjcicki). Physical activity has reached an all time low in the youth, and it is said that some type of intervention is needed to help cope
  • 6. Why Did Diocletian Reform The Roman Empire Diocletian understood that ruling over a major political entity like the Roman Empire was too difficult for one ruler. This lead to the first major political reform of the Roman Empire. Diocletian s solution to this problem was the tetrarchy. Diocletian divide the empire into 4 territories that were all ruled by a separate leader. The tetrarchy was to help bring the empire back to the ways of the Good Emperors where the succession of power was peaceful. Diocletianwanted the Emperors to select their successors from the ranks of the nobles. After Diocletian s retirement in 305 CE, his hope for a smooth transition of power quickly turned into complete chaos. Diocletian also tried to reform the economy of the empire to provide it with stimulation.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Romans treated the Visigoth poorly which led to the Visigoths rebelling against Valens at the Battle of Adrianople and defeating him. When the defeat of Valens, the Romans allowed the barbicans to form settlements in the center of the empire. The Vandals, within three decades, had gained control over northwest Africa and the majority of the Mediterranean. The Burgundians came into the Empire right after the Vandals and settled in Gaul. The Franks settle in north and central Gaul. How did these tribes take over such a mighty empire so easily? The invaders were successful because they came in rapid succession upon badly overextend Western empire divided politically by ambitious military commanders and weakened by decades of famine pestilence and over taxation (KOTF 184). The Romans tried to assimilate the barbarians in to their armies. This barbarizing of the army just lead to a further weakening of the army. This can be done in three different approaches such as counts, case series, and cross sectional studies. The observation of the Amish population in Lancaster, PA favors the application of the cross sectional method of descriptive epidemiology. Analyzing the population health in the Amish group requires some understanding of the Amish people. It is a special population where their perspectives on health is shaped by their religious beliefs and cultures. The Amish settled in four counties in Pennsylvania with an estimate of 44, 106 people were approximately 35,000 reside in Lancaster county. The case was about Ethan Couch a 16 year old boy in Forth worth Texas who while driving under the influence of alcohol,( alcohol that him and his friends apparently have stolen from a store), crashed his car and killed four people and injured two. Ethan s lawyer hired a psychologist who testified that he was a victim of affluenza, the product of wealthy, privileged parents who never set limits for the boy so cannot be held responsible for his action because of that. Although, the Judge ruled for the plaintiffs, Ethan was sent to 10 year probation in a rehab facility in Newport Beach
  • 11. The Expression Of Thoughts Of Self Harm By F4 This incident presents several demands for works and is complex as a result of what was disclosed by F4. The expression of thoughts of self harm by F4 put the facilitators in the very difficult position of having to not focus on an individual and to stay focused on the group as a whole. Though it is assumed that this is a difficult task for social workers in a general sense, I am of the opinion that when a potentially serious and/or a complex issue arise that it increases the difficulty. The group member that disclosed the thought of self harm felt safe and connected, which is why she was able to disclose such intimate thoughts with the group. The fact that F4 was able to share such information is a positive reflection on the mutual aid of this group, though it may have been too much too soon or not appropriate, because of the nature of the disclosure. This is not to imply that it was easy for her to disclose what she did and it clearly was not easy for the group to hear this information. The disclosure of thoughts of self harm by F4, which she felt was a result of the stress she was under, is the first demand for work to be examined. Self harm is not to be confused with suicidal behavior; self harmers say that inflicting pain on themselves does make them feel better and it is used to make life more manageable (Thornton, 2015, p. 189). This disclosure is complex as she comfortable with disclosing the thought of using self harm to cope with the stress, which is the intent

Whole cultures could be eradicated or brought to the brink of destruction, such as when Adolf Hitler, leader of the Nazi regime, brought on the Holocaust. In his efforts to bring the Jews to extinction he captured and imprisoned the Jews into concentration camps separated from the rest of society. Karl Linder in his efforts to keep the community of Clybourne Park pure for his growing family, attempts to assert dominance over the Stoller family (the Caucasian family moving away) and the Younger family (the African American family moving in), as if attempting to create a reverse concentration camp. After the rejection of his bribe produced by his leadership role in the Community Association by Walter Younger in A Raisin in the Sun, instead of arguing with the large man, he retreats and attempts to convince the Stollers to either stay in Clybourne Park or to deny the house to the Youngers. Another example of his cowardice towards men is on page forty, where he taunts Russ about his threat to punch Jim in the face by saying that Russ s actions were very masculine in a sarcastic tone and the Russ was mentally unstable as he started to retreat from Russ and proceeded to go through the door (Norris 40). Though Karl made bad decisions throughout his efforts to keep the community ethnical pure , he had the best intention at heart. His racists views keeps viewers from seeing that fact, a critic of the play named Kevin D. Then, the overall system energy is compared to the sum of the critical energies of the critical series components which can be determined using the proposed time to instability index. Moreover, the expected separation area(s), i.e., power system islands, and the critical series components, i.e., islands boundaries using the equivalent of parallel components, are not accurately determined. The simplest example of the direct methods is the EAC. The EAC method is enhanced to be applicable to multi machine systems, i.e., extended equal area criterion (EEAC) [82]. The EEAC method reduces the interconnected system into a two equivalent machine system or a single machine infinite bus. Hence, this method can be used only for the classical generator equivalent model, i.e., swing equation model or second order model [76],[6]. An attempt has been made to overcome the limitations of both time domain and Lyapunov like functions by combining them, i.e., hybrid methods [6],[5]. The hybrid method also can be the result of combining time domain and EEAC methods [83], i.e., Single Machine Equivalent (SIME) Method, to allow the use of detailed generator models. However, they are valid only for unstable cases and fault duration relatively close to the fault clearing time [76]. Also, all direct methods depend on the fault on trajectory [84] which is not accurate for a fault followed by tripping a line and it is not valid for other contingencies not associated with faults. Machine learning/ pattern recognition techniques also are used for transient stability
  • 14. The Definition Of Fearless By Adam Brown Fearless, what does it mean? Fearless can be used in many different scenarios. With Adam Brown, he was fearless in many different ways. He was fearless in his faith with God, in his overcoming of drug addiction, with his family and friends, and even on the battlefield. He went through many situations in his life that people would normally find crazy or terrifying, but he had dealt with without fear. Adam was the perfect example of the definition of fearless. The definition of fearless is lacking fear. Some synonyms would be brave, courageous, heroic, and daring. In this novel it is apparent that Adam is described as all of these words. Adam has been known to be fearless since the beginning. On page 13 it says, Soon after his second birthday, Janice glanced out the living room window and saw that Adam had pushed a chair across the back porch and was using it to climb up on the railing twelve feet above the ground. As a two year old he climbed up 12 feet and jumped off the railing. He was not afraid of getting hurt, he knew that if he got hurt he would just get right back up and it would be perfectly fine. His fearlessness had carried on as he got older and was really helpful in his sports. For example, on page 28 the author explained how Adam wouldn t give up in football during the Alley Drill after getting pummeled and pummeled. The only way he would stop is when the coaches would finally call the drill. Adam was determined to be the best in football and him not being afraid of failure really helped him out with that. On page 34, Adam had decided to jump off the bridge from a moving vehicle. He saw a video of Navy SEALS doing it, and right then and there he felt like he needed to do it too. A bunch of his friends had told him that it was dangerous and there was no way they were doing it, This shows Adams fearlessness as well. Adam s fearlessness had helped him with his friends and his family. For example, on page 40 41 Adam had walked up to a guy who was threatening to shoot him and his friends with a shotgun, and told him to shoot him. They were driving around one night and some guys from Little Rock had almost swerved them off the road. Adam and his friends had confronted them. These guys ended up
  • 15. Parental Neglect By Roald Dahl s Matilda And Neil Gaiman... Child abuse, in any form, is cause for outrage. This makes the question of whether neglect, benign or otherwise, is better than violence hard to consider. According to Canada s Public Health Agency, parental neglect, at 34% of cases, is the most commonly reported form of child maltreatment (31). In Roald Dahls Matilda and Neil Gaiman s Coraline, parental neglect is contrasted against violence as both are shown to be psychologically detrimental to a child, while the impact of these imperfect parents is able to help a child redefine their sense of self. The overt neglect of her prodigal intellect experienced by Matilda leaves her feeling misunderstood and an outsider in her family which differs from the perceived neglect which leaves Coraline struggling with her sense of self. Born to parents described as gormless (Dahl 4), Matilda is both blessed and cursed with a prodigal intellect. Causing Matilda to crave knowledge, it is her intellect that leads her at the age of four years and three months (9), to defy her parents and everyday walk to the library. Matilda admits to this neglect to Mrs. Phelps, the librarian, when she tells her of her mother, She doesn t encourage reading books. Nor does my father (10). With this statement Matilda shows how her parents have neglected to foster her intellect. Matilda s eagerness to digest information, and the fact that the only book in the Wormwood home is her mother s cookbook, elaborates how she differs from her parents.

They may be a haven for some who want to take a break from reality. When one reads, he or she plunges into a new space, or a new world, created by the author s imagination. At the same time, the reader is also seeing life and reality through the author s eyes. Literature reflects the human life and condition in a way that it enables readers to relate with the characters and their situations. It depicts how humans try to cling to life and search for its meaning and purpose. However, life is truly meaningless and humans just create the illusion of desire to justify their own existence. While they wait, they get distractions in Pozzo and Lucky, which makes them believe that something is actually happening. And because he feels that something is happening, he is led to believe that life is not nothing after all and that he is heading somewhere because something is happening. What if this Godot is not really coming and this long wait is all for nothing? But he also has Vladimir who reminds him: But what if you leave and Godot does

Aristotle s Poetics And The Order Of The Phoenix Poetic Thinking (An Essay Applying Aristotle s Poetics to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) Aristotle was a philosopher who revolutionized the world of theater with his essay entitled Poetics. Poetics is focused on what Aristotle viewed to be the ultimate form of theater, Tragedy. Aristotle thought that Theater should be a representation of real life. Shakespeare also followed this line of thinking as described in As you Like it, All the world s a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, In the essay, Poetics, the six basic elements of a great tragedy are outlined; the most important parts being plot, character, and thought. Aristotle s essay can be used to critique classical theater as well as more modern theater such as films. The film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix can be classified as a great tragedy, according to Aristotle, because it utilizes complex plot, invokes pity and fear on the main character s behalf, and is connected by plot instead of by character. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix follows a climactic plotline over the span of a year. As said by Aristotle, climactic plotlines are far superior to episodic plots. Aristotle states, Plots of this kind are constructed by bad poets...they stretch the plot beyond what it can bear and are often compelled, therefore, to dislocate the natural order. Luckily, the plot of Harry Potter and Order of the Phoenix follows an upward

  • 22. Critical Analysis Of Aldo Leopold s Thinking Like A Mountain Aldo Leopold s Thinking Like a Mountain (1949), was intended to convince the public, through beautiful and eloquent language, that wildlife conservation is an important implementation and that people should not be trying to make the world a human centric ecosystem. During his time, Aldo Leopold was a conservationist who believed in the longevity of the land and that we should protect it, even if we must protect the land from ourselves. While this was an unpopular opinion, realizing that the land and animals naturally work together in a symbiotic relationship to protect one another was very apparent to Leopold. He believed that humans should be doing our best to lessen our impact on the environment. Time has caught up with Leopold s ideologies and it is time that our efforts and contributions to the earth did too. Gathering sympathy for a force known for causing harm to a resource that helps and provides for humans isn t the easiest of things. Humans are known for protecting their resources from harm and allowing them to flourish. By attempting to make us sympathize with a force that kills off a valuable asset, Leopold also expands and allows us to think beyond the current moment and current assets, letting us see a bigger picture. A human centric mindset is very common in Leopold s age and even in today s world. We, as a society, hold humans and our needs above those of other animals, the earth and even other humans. We re always needing more to sustain an unsustainable lifestyle and although we manage to acquire more resources, we often do so without realizing the consequences of our actions on those around us. Leopold s article Thinking Like a Mountain is not a persuasive piece filled with facts and data. It is a personal story that uses passion and deep emotion, also known as pathos, to let the reader see through his eyes for a split second. Forcing his point of view to be seen to allow the public to sympathize. His word choice is mainly towards those that are more emotionally charged rather than scientific words which imply a choice in taking a more empathetic or emotional oriented route with his readers. By using very intricate and ornate words to try and bring his readers into the story and

The neo liberal understanding of the international community lies within increasing interconnectedness and the utility of international institutions such as the EU and UN. The security of Israel has weakened in recent years due to threat posed by Iran and their suspected research into the development of nuclear weapons. In 2005 the EU imposed trade sanctions on Iran due to resuming of nuclear activities (European Commission, 2012). A form of collective security occurs when all states stand to lose something from war; collective insecurity leads to security. Kant would argue that even though the international system is anarchic, alliances and treaties still exist as a form of power and security. Buzan (1991) takes this further stating that although economic activity can generate many different factions within in a state, the international economy itself becomes powerfully tied together trade, finance and communication. As previously mentioned, neo realists place an emphasis upon security via military power, and whilst there is no denying that military security is

Meeting new people especially in a different country can open your eyes to lots of new experiences and you can also learn so many new things. Burke and Anna experienced so many special moments during their 6 month stay in Hungary. One in particular moment that stood out to them is a time to a Hungarian dog show. One of the teachers from their school had a dog competing. In Hungary they have so many dog breeds that Burke and Anna never heard of before. They had so much fun and saw super cute dogs. That was one of Burke and Anna s most memorable experiences from staying in
  • 28. Tp53 Gene Essay The gene most associated with HCC is the TP53 gene, which is a tumor suppressor gene universal among many cancers. The p53 protein, when turned off, can mistakenly cause cancer since they are normally turned on (Rhine 4). When normal, the TP53 gene assures that cells do not grow beyond where the should, meaning they have anchorage dependence and density dependent inhibition. When damaged, abnormal cells and the formation of HCC can occur since the P53 protein is involved in cell cycle functions and apoptosis, because it does not stop the cells from accumulating mutations over time if its function is degraded (ВЁ Do We Know [...]?ВЁ, Debuire and Lemoine). Persuasive Essay On Prescription Opioids According to the National Institutes of Health, prescription opioids are chemically made to have a similar result as endorphins, which is the body s natural pain reliever (NIDA, 2017). Prescription opioids must be prescribed by a physician and are often prescribed to treat severe pain such as post surgical recovery, chronic pain, cancer, or serious injuries. Prescription opioids should be used by the patient the physician prescribed them to and used as directed due to the potential risk of abuse and dependency. However, prescription opioids are being misused and causing an opioid crisis in the United Statesof America. Background A national crisis is occurring due to the misuse of opioids including prescription pain relievers, heroin and synthetic opioids. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, every day more than 90 Americans die from overdosing on opioids (NIH, 2017). The United States opioid crisis goes as far back as the late 1990s when physicians were educated by the pharmaceutical companies that patients would not become addicted to opioids and started to prescribe the more often. The incorrect information given by the pharmaceutical companies lead to widespread diversion and misuse of the medications which has now lead to a public health crisis. Due to the increase misuse of opioids in the last 15 years, there has been an increase in the number of emergency room visits, increase in the number of deaths related to overdose, and increase in the

Tupac grew up in an infrastructure where he had to struggle and battle for his rights growing up during the decades of the seventies and eighties because of the color of his skin. With tension and anger building inside of him, he used poetry to express his frustrations and immediately found his outlet. His outspoken charisma brought him attention from millions of people relating to the similar situation Tupac was going through, and eventually he used his poetry and pursue a career in Hip Hop. Topics that he explained included using guns, drugs, committing crimes, having multiple affairs, and threatening the lives of people, specifically against law enforcement and his old best friend Christopher Wallace, The Notorious B.I.G. Wallace is often suspected of being the mastermind behind the conspiracy, because of his ongoing war with Tupac. They were both best friends, as Tupac initially took Wallace under his wing by teaching him how to record his music lyrically and developing his approach to hip hop. Both Tupac and Christopher Wallace spent a lot of time together before their fallout because of reports of an affair between Tupac and Wallace s wife, Faith Evans. This rumor was confirmed when Tupac released a song titled Hit Em Up where Tupac explicitly raps about having an affair with Faith Evans. Dan West demonstrated this quotation on summer with a group of campers. • 34. Compare And Contrast Christianity And Judaism Comparing and Contrasting Christianity to Judaism There is a close relationship between Christianity and Judaism both from a theological and historical perspective. The similarities between these two religious platforms emanates from the notion that Christianity arose and protested from Judaism. However, it is worth noting that Christianity is not a continuation of Judaism as some people perceive. Both Jesus and most of his disciples, who pioneered the earliest Christian churches, were Jews. Particularly, Jesus family practiced and followed Jewish beliefs, and He frequently referenced the Hebrew bible. On the contrary, the disciples believed that Jesus was the one and only Messiah, which is predicted in the Jewish Bible. While the creation narrative is still mysterious to many people, most individuals are still obsessed with the attempt to discover how everything came to existence. The primary purpose of this paper is to compare and contrast the basic ideologies of Christianity and Judaism (Neusner, 76). The primary similarity between Judaism and Christianity is based on the notion that they regard sin as a rebellion. They affirm that God, through his word, has made his will well known to all people. Thus, it is a sin to live contrary to this set will of God and there are consequences. More so, both religions consider God as being all powerful and supreme and though he allows people to sin, he confines the freedom. The religions consider that God allows sin as a means of

The answers given during the interviews helped to support the theory developed for the research. Thanks to this research and after the answers analyze, we can say that at the beginning stages of the buying process, some consumers read fashion blogs because they are looking for inspiration and new ideas for shopping, so they do a lot of information research. They already have the shopping motivation and this motivation is using fashion blogs for being satisfied. I think this is half of the sales road for companies: they already have thousands of motivated customers looking for some products which can satisfy their needs. This is the moment when companies have to be present on blogs. Here, the potential customer has no need for just one specific product, but he might be inspired by the products displayed in the blog, which can lead to purchasing that would not have occurred otherwise. This is the sales power of blogs. On the other hand, many consumers said they use fashion blogs when they want to find some products reviews. This reason and the previous one show us consumers use fashion blogs an information research tool. According to this last reason, looking for product reviews, we have to keep in mind that in these cases, the desire for the product is strong, eliminating so called impulse purchases. They know what they want. This is a really important

As already stated, this is when Ralph is voted in as chief, giving him control over the boys. Also, this is when Ralph makes one of his biggest blunders, giving Jack control over the hunters. Both of these events are very important to later events in the story, notably when Jack leaves the tribe to form his own and his hunters follow. However, that is not the only reason this scene is important. This scene is great to use to see how far the boys have lost civil manners. Just a day after, or maybe less, after the crash, they still are civilized and it would be crazy to call them savages. They even voted on chief instead of one of them just taking over. Therefore, we can compare the events later in the book to this scene to see how far they have lost civil manners. Although Jack lost the chance to be voted chief later in the book once they are back from the search for the beast, it doesn t stop him from just ignoring the vote and forming his tribe. Compare that to when he accepts the vote in this scene, despite losing, and it shows they no longer respect authority or the rules that help keep civilization together, making this scene very useful to compare to later
  • 37. Species Boundaries Within the study of evolution, the concept of a species and the mechanisms that create and maintain species boundaries are very important. In order to understand the fossil record and how a species can split into two or more separate species, researches must first define what they consider a species to be. There are two main competing theories about species, the biological species concept (BSC) and the ecological species concept (ESC). The biological species concept states that geneflow is the key to keeping groups cohesive and isolated. A species is considered to be a group of interbreeding organisms that are reproductively isolated from other groups of organisms. Therefore, members of each distinct group cannot mate successfully with other groups. Gene flow is what... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also, some species remain the same with out gene flow between groups (Boyd and Silk 2000:97 99, Ridley 1993:393). Natural selection acts as reinforcement to prevent dissimilar groups from producing hybrid species. Since hybrids are less fit, selection favors behavioral and morphological adaptations that prevent mating between groups. Reinforcement acts to reduce gene flow between groups in order to reduce the number of unfit offspring which reproductively isolates species to the point where they cannot interbreed at all. In the case of mules, who are hybrids of horses and donkeys, they are not less capable of competition with other animals, but they are less fit because they are unable to reproduce and get their genes into the next generation (Boyd and Silk 2000:103, Ridley 1993:394). In actuality, these two species concepts are not very distinct and neither is more valid or useful. Both theories can explain the mechanisms that cause different species to arise and remain distinct. If populations are not being selected upon, then gene flow is the mechanism keeping them separate. If selection is very strong, then it is probably the factor that is isolating

  • 40. Identifying The Specific Identification Of Tracking And... The specific identification method refers to the tracking and costing of inventory based on the movement of specific, identifiable inventory items in and out of stock. This method is applicable when individual items can be clearly identified, such as with a serial number, stamped receipt date, or RFID tag. The specific identification method introduces a high degree of accuracy to the cost of inventory, since the exact cost at which something was purchased can be recorded in the inventory records, and charged to the cost of goods sold when the related item is sold. However, this method is rarely used, because there are few purchased products that are clearly identified in a company s accounting records with a unique identification code. Thus, it is typically restricted to unique, high value items for which such differentiation is needed. Most organizations instead sell products that are essentially interchangeable, and so are more likely to use a FIFO, LIFO, weighted average, or similar system. It is also very time consuming to track inventory on an individual unit basis, which restricts its use to smaller inventory quantities. The first in, first out (FIFO) method of inventory valuation is a cost flow assumption that the first goods purchased are also the first goods sold. In most companies, this assumption closely matches the actual flow of goods, and so is considered the most theoretically correct inventory valuation method. The FIFO flow concept is a logical one for a

  • 42. The Importance Of Violence In Sunday Bloody Sunday Evil is extremely apparent in the world today, but for how long will people stand idly by as it continues to worsen? The song Sunday Bloody Sunday, written by U2, suggests that the only valid response to the violence that occurred in Northern Ireland in the 1970s is condemnation. The writers not only condemn the brutality of that time, but, in a broader sense, condemn violence as a whole, showing that there are no positive outcomes to violence, only more violence. Therefore, people must rise up, united against the violence that exists in this world today. An important aspect that is important to understand, regarding the theme of Sunday Bloody Sunday, is the historical context around which it was written. Although U2 wrote the song specifically about an event that took place on January 30, 1972, or Bloody Sunday, the violence was a part of a more complicated and long running issue between Ireland and England. This violence also took place as a result of a civil rights movement in Ireland that occurred from 1968 to 1969. Many of these activists looked up to people like Martin Luther King, Jr. for inspiration about peaceful protest. Nonetheless, in 1969, after multiple occasions of violence at protests, the British troops assumed riot duty (Pringle and Larson). This event became one of the inciting incidents that led to the violence that happened on Bloody Sunday, only a few years later. The issues with protesting, despite the presence of British troops, did not
