Rap Culture And The Culture Of Rap And Its Culture
Rap and its culture how it has and still is changing the world
Nathan Campbell
Rockford Lutheran
Has Hip hop and the artists involved changed society and how people view business, social
norms, fashion and other things of that sort in the U.S.? Ever wonder why a genre of music that
started in the 1970s in a small area in New York is now seen and heard everywhere? Rap music
has changed the world in many ways with its fashion, business, and their points of view. Even if
you don t think it right off the bat music changed many people s minds and beliefs even if they don
t like the music.
With the amount of resource that these rappers have it has been very easy for the artists and the
managers to gain exposure and anything else they put their minds to. Great business minds such
as Sean Combs, Kanye West and Dr.Dre are just three of many examples of people who took
advantage of rap as more than just music, but a way change the world forever. Now they can
afford to wear the most luxurious clothes and make more money, why shouldn t they take
advantage and tell the world how to do the same?
It s starting to become more and more known just rapping isn t enough to pay the bills. Many
rappers have broke off into other money making ventures. It s crazy to think about the impact a
rapper can have in the business world along with the music also. Sean Combs also known as Puff
Daddy is a perfect example of this. He realized right away he no longer wanted to attend

Eating Disorders
According to The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) website, eating disorders are
actually serious and often fatal illnesses causing serve disturbances to a person s eating
behaviors. People with eating disorders often have obsessions with food, their body weight, and
their shape. There is, however, a difference between an eating disorder and a diet. It is important
to know the difference. Eating disorders are a daily struggle for 10 million females and 1 million
males in the United States (Eating Disorder Hope). An eating disorder is a compulsion to avoid
eating in order to lose weight while a diet is cutting down eating or healthier eating in order to lose
weight. The three types of an eating disorders are anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge
eating disorder. All three disorders are important and they all deserve immediate treatment. No
matter what eating disorder someone has, it can resort in organ damage and sometimes even death.
The average that someone develops anorexia is 19 years old (NIMH), but that does not mean a
person can only be 19 in order to develop an eating disorder. The NIMH has reported cases of
eating disorders reporting in ages as low as .1 percent of eight to eleven year olds and .2 percent
of twelve to fifteen year olds. Eating disorders are becoming more common for students in high
school and college, since they view it as a coping mechanism to handle their

Review Of The Fall Of Constantinople Essay
Jeffery Jacob World History [Teacher name here] December 21st, 2016 The Fall of Constantinople
Byzantium was one of the many Greek city states that stratled along the coasts of the Aegean Sea.
As an abundant source of Grains, fish, and trade, she played a pivotal role as a landing for Darius
colossal army against the Greeks; a battleground between Athens and Sparta during the
Pelloponessian war; and a prized tributary under Roman supervision. The Roman Emperor,
Constantine I, renamed the city after himself and the newly christened Constantinoplegrew to
eclipse Rome as the greatest Capital of Europe. Even after the continent was plunged into the so
called Dark Ages ; protected by the indominable Theodosian Wall, The Queen of Cities , as the
Greek speaking Byzantines called her, retained her position as the most prestine City of the early
Middle Ages. And became the seat of power for the great Basilieis, Greek plural for Emperors, and
the venerated Patriarchs of the Eastern Orthodox Church. Yet the middle ages made life more
turbulant for the aged Byzantine Empireas it lost vast swathes of land to the surging Muslim
Caliphate; struggled with internal corruption throughout its lifetime; clung desperately to its
commercial power in the face of competition from merchant republics such as Genoa and Venice;
and embroiled itself into several centuries of conflicts with the Turks over control of Anatolia,
modern day Turkey. However, its Religious influence grew

Dante s Inferno Comparative Essay
The geographical influences also bring various differences between them. In Europe, the christianity
and empires were dominant.
##2 2 4 Medium Form (Language Based Literature(poem), Visual Based Image)
Inferno is a poem (literature) that suggests the descriptions via language. However, propaganda by
North Korea is a visual artwork that depicts via images. This difference brings a huge difference in
perceiving information from the artwork. However, considering that the Inferno had an extensive
use of all senses in descriptions, Inferno can be considered as the part of showing instead of telling.
According to the Introduction to the Inferno, due to his meticulous depictions of the senses and
emotions, Archibald T. MacAllister described that the Inferno is really a three dimensional art .

The fear brought from Inferno inherits itself within the individual and religion. The fear of hell
is solely dependent upon oneself or religion. For instance, throughout the Inferno, Dante is
trying to understand what he had done in his life. He tries to reach the salvation as he takes a
look at the hell. The fear of death and beyond death is solely dependent to the person who
committed the sins. The religion clearly explains the procedure by describing the eternal
suffering in the blazes. Therefore, if the person tries hard enough to overcome the fear of death,
it is possible to overcome the fear of the margin, Unlike the fear of hell which was originally
within the individual and religion, the fear brought from the propaganda is based on the other
individual and politics. The system does not allow people to overcome the fear from the
propaganda. Instead, people reinforce the fear in order to utilize the negative emotion to make
people obedient. Therefore, the fear is mostly dependent on the other people and the

Menstruation History
During menstruation throughout history, the progression of menstrual products has subjugated
women to unimaginable methods. In ancient Egypt, women used softened papyrus tampons, while
the Greeks utilized lint wrapped around small pieces of wood, and the Romans wore pads and
tampons made of soft wool. Considered impure in the Jewish culture during biblical times, the
proclivity of physically separating women from men during menstruation is habitual, as well as any
object they touched or sat on. These fads were perpetuated in Europe in the 1800s. With a more
natural approach, women during this period allowed their menstruation to bleed into their clothing.
Creatively, women used homemade pads in America, during the 1900s, similar to baby diapers:
Others wore menstrual pad belts secured by suspenders.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The three major organic companies that sell natural menstrual products are GladRags, Natracare,
and Organic Essentials. On the go, these small companies offer disposable cotton pads and organic
tampons. While others may consider as taboo, reusable alternatives are made of Cloth, sponge or
menstrual cup; safer for the environment and the consumer. Many of these non commercialized
menstrual products do not contain dioxin or pesticides, unfortunately, they vary in price as well as
accessibility, from limited marketing and awareness. Ruminating the options by consumers, cultural
and economic factors play a role. For over a decade, commercialized products have conveniently
been available through the media and advertising. Even more important to note, natural feminine
hygiene products are available and considered a safer approach to menstruation. Preserving the

Classic Airlines Marketing Solution
September 13, 2010
Introduction
Classic Airlines is established in over 240 cities, employs over 32,000 people, and is the world s
fifth largest airline with a fleet of over 375 jets. Last year, it yielded over $8.7 billion in sales.
However, Classic is currently faced with many challenges derived from internal and external
factors. This paper will identify and apply a problem solving process to Classic s current crisis. It
will also include consideration of the internal and external pressures contributing to Classic s
current crisis, objectives and obstacles of the marketing department, and the marketing resources
available to help cure this crisis.
Problem Statement
Classic is losing customers to the competition due to rising fuel and labor costs, unsatisfied
customers, and is at risk for bankruptcy. The number of Classic Rewards members has decreased
by 19%. Loyal customers are leaving the company and frequent fliers have decreased. Customers
feel that Classic does not understand them.
Definition of Problem
Classic is under intense scrutiny from its stakeholders. They have been closely screening Classic
s performance and its bottom line. Because of a loss in rewards members and sales the share
prices for Classic are steadily losing value. Furthermore, Classic has neglected to make customer
satisfaction a priority. Classic needs to address and meet the needs of their customers or else they

Berlin Argument Of Negative Liberty Analysis
Analysis of Berlin s Argument of Negative Liberty: Berlin considers negative liberty as the area
within which a man can act unobstructed by others (Stewart, 90). The obstructions contain not
only physical limitations but also human involvement. We should take the example of cab
driver within the automobile who agrees to the region s government tacitly by mere residence
and also via enjoying the ups and downs of the daily life. Now, in this process of driving we
cannot say that the friction, gravity or the climatic disaster are the cause of limiting the freedom
of the driver but the actual cause are the speeds limits, lack of money to buy a vehicle and the
driving habits of others. However it should be understood that in civilized society, there is give
and take freedom, which in the case will lead to the agreeing if most of the people that safety of
others produces more of a benefit than the loss of freedom from traffic laws. It is because of the
assumption by them that traffic laws are civil and just since it produces more greater good. Now,
take the other example of money and poverty. Berlin feels that the poverty can be defined in
several ways. But, we need to analyse the human influence, without personal disability in order to
truly consider an infringement upon freedom. Money limits freedom as it creates strain and
economic inequality which in turn, leads to poverty and limits the person s freedom to make
choices. Adhering to a strict sense of the concept of negative freedom, money does impose upon
the inhabitants who cannot obtain the capital to thrive in a barter free society. John T Bookman
provides a vivid picture in that sense. He explain that money opened the doors to an emergence of
economic classes, which strain relations among people and that human relations in the state of
nature have been strained by economic inequality, and a desire to protect property is a major
reason for quitting the state of nature and instituting civil society (Bookman, 364). Now, it is
evident that the notion of negative freedom comes with the cavet that it is impossible to create a
fine line from which a truly free society can be established. Berlin states, we cannot remain
absolutely free, and must give up some

Research Paper On Snowy Plover
The western snowy plover (Charadrius alexandrinus nivosus) has a pacific coast population that
breeds primarily on coastal beaches from southern Washington to southern Baja California,
Mexico. The major coastal habitats include sand spits, dune backed beaches, beaches at creek
and river mouths, and salt pans at lagoons and estuaries. Other nesting locations include bluff
backed beaches, dredged material disposal sites, salt pond levees, dry salt ponds, and river bars
(U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, 2001). Plovers often return to the same breeding sites yearly.
Nesting locations occur in flat, open areas that have sparse vegetation with sandy or saline
substrates. Western snowy plovers have been listed as threatened on the federal endangered species
list since 1993, and are listed as a species of special concern by the state of California(California

Correlation Between Job Engagement, Education And Job...
Results
Correlations were performed (refer to appendix 1 and 2) and it was found that income and
education were significantly correlated as the countrywide data had a significance value of .003, r
= .637, p .005 and the statewide data had a remarkable significance value of .000, r = .770, p .005.
Despite these very strong correlations, no significant results were found for any of the other
variables and more importantly that support the predicted relationship between job engagement,
education and job satisfaction. However, no relationship was predicted between income and job
satisfaction so this prediction is supported by the data.
To further investigate the relationship between the variables regressions were conducted (refer to...

However, when job engagement was accounted for both the variables become more insignificant.
The graph of the worldwide data (refer to Figure 1) highlights that as job satisfaction increases, so
to does income roughly, however, the data does deviate from this pattern slightly for some of the
countries. Job engagement also appears to follow a similar pattern, with less satisfied countries
having less job engagement, however, as engagement increases there seems to be less variation
between countries. Education does not seem to have any strong effects displayed in the graph as
the data falls and rises throughout the graph.
The relationship between the variables is less pronounced for the US (refer to Figure 2) as there
does not seem to be a strong relationship between any of the variables. Income and education
follow a similar trend to the countrywide data, both slightly increasing with job satisfaction. Job
engagement surprisingly appears to be decreasing with satisfaction for the US data as the values get
slightly lower. Job engagement and education also appear to interact, eventually converging to a
similar point.
Discussion
It was hypothesized that job engagement and education would significantly influence job
satisfaction and that income would have

globalization, rising fuel prices, heavy repair maintenance cost, raising labor costs, increasing

Part of this is related to the restrictive bilateral agreements, which also protect the home market.
Some states have privatized their airlines and others intend to do so, a considerable number
remain state owned. As Forsyth observes, there is a strong correlation between per capita income
levels and private ownership. In the richer countries in the region, such as Japan, Korea,
Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, along with the colony of Hong Kong, all the airlines are privately
owned. By contrast, there are few examples of private ownership of airlines in the poorer countries
, while a number of governments have allowed the introduction of private airlines (e.g. Asiana in
Korea, Dragonair in Hong Kong) to compete on international routes.
3.Asia Financial Crisis
These are frenetic times time for aviation in Asia, although there are still problems leftover from
the region s economic crisis which started in July 1997 and continued through 1998 for most

I Am Charlotte Simmons Character Analysis
In I am Charlotte Simmons, Tom Wolfe accurately portrays modern day college life through his
exploration of the complexities of sexual relationships, academics, and morality as they relate to
social status. Through Charlotte Simmons character and the people with whom she interacts,
Wolfe asserts that sexual relationships are crucial to an individual s social status. This becomes
immediately evident to Charlotte when she gets to Dupont. After being at Dupont for only a few
weeks, Charlotte is kicked out of her room at 2:00 in the morning by her roommate, Beverly
because Beverly wants to have sex with a boy she met; in other words, Charlotte is sexiled. While
she is sexiled in the common area of her building, she meets Bettina, another freshman... Show

Throughout the novel, it is apparent the most popular people are the ones with the lowest moral
standards. This is evidenced through the negative relationship between Charlotte s declining
morals and social ascension. When Charlotte first arrives at Dupont, she is appalled by alcohol
and anything related to sex. As the book progresses, however, Charlotte changes. Soon after
Charlotte becomes friends with Bettina and Mimi, however, she goes to the frat party where she
meets Hoyt. Until this point, Charlotte stayed completely away from alcohol and was could not
believe grinding was considered an acceptable thing to do in public. At this party, however, Hoyt
easily convinces her to drink wine. After this Charlotte realizes that the more she drinks, the more
fun she has, and the more people like her. This became clear less than three months later at the
Saint Ray formal when Charlotte gets drunk and has sex with Hoyt, completely going against
everything she believed in when she started school.
The relationship between morality and social status is also evident with the guys in Saint Ray and
the basketball players. They are the most popular people at Dupont, and they curse, drink too much
alcohol, and have sex. Though she began her time at Dupont innocent and convinced she is
Charlotte Simmons, not to be influenced by other people, the more Charlotte is exposed to this
lifestyle, the more she embraces

Imagine a government that denies 1,138 rights and benefits to a certain group of people who
have not broken any laws. Would you support this government? In the United States, same sex
couples face exactly this kind of discrimination. Since the 1920 s the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bi,
Trans) community has been fighting for equality, starting with the Society of Human Rights in
Chicago, the earliest known gay rights organization ( American 1). The movement transformed
completely from a couple of activists to a widespread protest in the 1969 Stonewall Riots. A gay

Although the opposition holds that gay marriage disrupts the traditional institution of marriage and
creates an environment unfit for children, in actuality it is a civil right that provides economic and
social benefits without being harmful to society in any way, shape, or form.
Opponents of legalizing gay marriage claim homosexuality is against natural order and view
marriage as a sacred pact between a man and a woman. In their eyes, it will ruin the traditional
institution of marriage. In 1971, the Supreme Court decided that the institution of marriage as a
union [was] of man and woman in the Baker v. Nelson case ( Gay 2). The United States
government has defined marriage as such. Allowing homosexuals to marry will redefine the
very foundation that Americans thrive on. And whose to say it will end with gays being
allowed to wed? The entire process will lead down a slippery slope of allowing polygamous,
incestuous, bestial, and other nontraditional relationships being able to marry ( Gay 2). In
addition, marriage is for the sake of procreation and children are negatively affected in a queer
environment. The statistics speak for themselves. Children raised by gay couples constantly lack
either a father or a mother figure and are thus 12% more likely to engage in homosexuality and
promiscuity (Roleff 87). Kids can never identify with their own gender or have an opposite gender
role model in a homosexual atmosphere. We need the future generation to grow up in the

Demeanor Of Mr Van Daan
The Demeanor of the Dreadful Mr. Van Daan The play, The Diary of Anne Frank tells the story
of a girl named Anne Frank and the events that occur during her time hiding from the Nazis in
the Holocaust with her family, the Van Daans, and Mr. Dussel. While the two families were in
hiding, they all suffered tremendously with limited food portions and the need to remain quiet
in order to not get caught. During this period, if a person were to be not fit in the Aryan race,
which consists of blonde hair, blue eyes, and tallness, then they were to be sent to concentration
camps or be killed. Although all of the characters were put into the same circumstances, Mr. Van
Daan drastically took advantage of the rest of the Annex. He was portrayed to be selfish and
gluttonous because of the fact that he would do anything in order to obtain cigarettes and
because he has been given or taking a significant amount of food that is supposed to be for the
whole Annex. . First of all, one reason why Mr. Van Daan is shown to be selfish is because of
the fact that he desperately takes action in order to sustain his cigarette addiction. For example,
on pages 298 299, as Mrs. and Mr. Van Daan were quarreling, Mrs. Van Daan states that smoking
is a filthy habit anyway and that he has been smoking up all (their) money . This shows that Mr.
Van Daan is selfish because of the fact that he has been wasting the Van Daan s money on his
addiction, in which Mrs. Van Daan disapproves of and because he

American Middle Eastern Minority
One of the least known minority groups in the United States is the Middle Eastern minority.
Although the place of Middle Easterners became the forefront of public discussions recently,
especially with relation to Islam and terrorism after 9/11, Middle Easterners in the United States
have a long history. They have become part of the American society, and many second and third
generation Americans with Middle Eastern background have become publicly recognizable figures,
working in the business, political, entertainment, and media sectors as well as the U.S. military.
Among these figures are General John Abizaid, Apple Inc. co founder Steve Jobs, actress Shannon
Elizabeth, Miss USA Pageant Rima Fakih, and political and social activist Ralph Nader.
Majority of Middle Eastern Americans are of Arab descent although there is a sizable population
of Iranian Americans. It is estimated that at least 1.7 Americans are of Arab descent and over
300,000 Americans are of Iranian descent. Iranian Americans are largely concentrated in the states
of California, Texas, and Washington D.C., while Arab Americans live in all 50 states. One third
of all Arab Americans live in California, New York, and Michigan. Overwhelming majority of Arab
Americans (94%) live in metropolitan areas of New York/NJ, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, and

The Culture Of The Gaming Culture
On November 9th, 1994, there was a chemical element called Darmstadtium. It s a radioactive
heavy metal that is name after the city Darmstadt, Germany where it was first found. It s a
manmade element that Yuri Oganessian Vladimir Utyonkov at the JINR made isotope 273 by
combining plutonium and sulfur together. Within the same year, Peter Armbruster and Gottfried
Munzenberg from the GSI unit uses lead and nickel to combine it with isotope 269 into the
previous isotope. With the combinations it created a new element and called it element 110. There
is still little known things about the element such as the boiling point and the melting point. I
noticed cultural events are something that has influenced me as I was growing up, such as my
mentioning about Cambodia. Since my mom is a refugee, those news were brought to her by a
friend who could understand English. It s because of her actions and mentioning Cambodia, it
gave me more of a connection with my culture. The gaming culture is something that has
influenced me heavily. With the releases of gaming consoles, my brother and I would play games
a lot. It eventually made me branch out to PC gaming and mobile gaming. Spongebob is a very

B2B vs. B2C Marketing Differences Essay
B2B vs. B2C Marketing Differences
Once a decision is made to develop a business, whom the customer will be is the next decision to
be made. Whom will the company target as a customer? Will it be a business? Or will it be a
consumer? Business to business (B2B) marketing has differences from business to consumer (B2C)
marketing practices. This paper will outline these differences between the two types of e commerce
business transactions.
Traditional marketing in the business to business environment requires very different strategies
from those campaigns directed towards the consumer market. (ExtraVision, n.d., p. 1) Consumer
competition can be a lot fiercer, with customer loyalty a constant battle.? (ExtraVision, n.d., p.1)...

After the consumer makes his selection from the landing page, a transition to the shopping cart and
checkout page is simply the next step to complete the transaction. In a business to business e mail
marketing campaign the e mail is only a part of the marketing. The e mail to a business must
contain contact information for offline communications, and an attachment for downloading
catalog or price list information. The e mail is followed up by sales representatives who will also
forward quotes and snail mail an information packet (Weil, 2002).
The e mail sent to either a business or consumer must be enticing to the customer. It should be
colorful and have pertinent information. A URL leading the customer to the landing page is
imperative in order to either generate the lead for a business transaction, or lead a consumer to a
?Specials? page with the current sales displayed. After the e mail has been received by the business
or consumer, the Internet website landing page is browsed by either type of customer. Here is
where the business wishing to do business must obtain permission to take information from the
customers or businesses perusing their landing page. When doing a business to business
transaction, permission involves assuring the business information shared will be kept private. This
will lead to more lead generation (Weil, 2002). Business to consumer transactions require obtaining
permission in a different way. Here a

[7] Functions of Management Accounting Management accountants contribute to the company s
decisions about strategy, planning, and control, by scorekeeping, attention directing and problem
solving.[8] Scorekeeping: It refers to the accumulation of data and the reporting of reliable results to
all levels of management. Examples of scorekeeping are the recording of actual revenues and
purchases relative to budgeted amounts.[9] Attention Directing: Helping managers focus on
opportunities and problems. Attention directing means getting managers to focus on all
opportunities that would add value to the company and not to focus only on cost reduction
opportunities. An example is highlighting rapidly growing markets where the company may be
under funding its investment. [10] Problem Solving: It refers to the comparative analysis
undertaken to identify the best alternatives in relation to the organisation s goals. An example is
comparing the financial advantages of leasing a fleet of motorcycles rather than owning those
motorcycles.[11] Different decisions place different emphasis on these three roles. For strategic
decisions and planning decisions, the problem solving role is most prominent. For control decisions
(which include both actions to implement planning decisions and decisions about performance
evaluation), the scorekeeping and attention keeping and attention directing roles are most

Essay On Dolphins
There are different living places for dolphins in the world. Do you think the ocean is the only
place for dolphins to live? However, actually dolphin habitats are divided into two major parts
which are the wild places and the sea world though they can be found in ports, bays, gulfs and
estuaries. The environments and lifestyles between the dolphins are quite different while this could
possibly be because of the pollutionmade by human beings.
The dolphins that live at Sea World are more likely to have a larger and better environment of
living space than those which live in the wild. Dolphins which live at Sea World are actually
known as living in the places that are called aquariums. Aquariums are the manmade places with
no pollution, which means dolphins are able to have a cleaner environment to survive. In other
words, they will be less likely to die because of pollution problems. In aquariums, the workers here

According to some research, dolphins living at Sea World are usually fed by highly trained
staffs. So it seems they do have a better life, at least they don t even need to worry about looking
for food. But think about it in this way, those dolphins just receive food without effortlessly, is it
really good for them? As an old saying goes Gives the human by the fish to be inferior gives the
human by the fishing. So if the dolphins cannot practice looking for food by themselves, they may
lose the ability one day. In addition, dolphins that are at Sea World tend to be fed by visitors,
which may pose a threat to their health. So as I have mentioned that dolphins in those two places
can have different lifestyle. For example, those in the ocean usually leap over the water surface.
What s more, dolphins usually have a migration as the seasons change while for those in the
aquariums they may not have such habit. (Glenza,

In the book Salvage the Bones, by Jesmyn Ward, there is a parallel storyline between Esch s life
and the ancient myth of Jason and Medea. Throughout the book, Esch constantly compares herself
with Medea, while referring to Manny as Jason. Both Esch and Medea are forced to cope with the
fact that the two people whom they loved and cherished most in the world have deceived them. As
Esch s character comes of age throughout the book, her decreasing dependency on Manny helps her

Luckily for Esch, not only did she have three loving brothers, but she also had all of her brother s
friends, whom looked after her like she was their little sister. After Hurricane Katrina had ended,
Esch had a chat with her dad, in which he was convinced that Esch should keep the baby. This
made her more confident, to know that she had not only her brother s approval, but also her
father s approval (247). Esch s family and friends are accepting of her pregnancy, and they all
even offer to help take care of her and the baby, in hopes that this baby will be the miracle which
will bring the family together. After this conversation with her dad, Big Henry also confronts
her about this conversation, which he has accidentally listened on. He asked her Who the
daddy? , and when she cautiously replies with It don t have no daddy , he caringly replies to her
You wrong...this baby got multiple daddies , which shows that even though he isn t a part of the
family, he is implying that he will assist in raising the baby, along with her real family (254).
Medea is not as fortunate as Esch. After being betrayed by Jason, she had no one to turn to, not
even her own family. So, to take revenge on Jason, she resorts to murdering all of their children,
and even his new bride, leaving him with no one, the way that he left her. Esch and Medea are

Golden Retrievers Speech Analysis
I chose to write my informative speech about Golden Retrievers and my purpose of this speech
was to give the class more information about the dog breed Golden Retrievers. In this self
evaluation I will be evaluating two of my strengths and two of my weaknesses to better improve by
public speaking skills. My two strengths would include using and citing multiple sources and
having effective transitions. My two weaknesses would include inadequate direct eye contact and
having a weak introduction. First, I will start with the aspects that I have exceled at during my
informative speech. The first strength would be the use of my sources and how I included them and
cited them in the presentation. Overall I found 6 great sources which helped be better... Show more

During the transitions I made sure to take a step back and a step forward. I did this by reviewing
what I had just talked about and I then introduced the information that I was about to cover.
Another considerable aspect of the transitions was that I used a blank slide in between the main
topics to that when I was transitioning people were focused on what I was saying and not what
was on the slide show. Also, there were some difficulties that came about during my speech, one of
those difficulties being inadequate direct eye contact. During the length of the speech there were
not many time where I looked up and talked directly to my classmates. Something I could have
done better to improve this would be to practice even more to ensure that I wouldn t need to look
at my notecards and slides as often. I also could have practiced when to look up and have a
successful glance at my audience to have improved eye contact. Finally, one of the main aspects
that could have used improvement would be the introduction. The attention getter was not as
effective as I had hoped it would be. It didn t seem to grab anybody s attention so the speech was
already off to a not so great start. While the main topics were introduced it could have been done
more effectively instead of just listing of the three main topics. Also the thesis statement could have
been more thought out with more information about my

America s Military Presence Is Necessary Overseas
The protection of citizens lives, foreign or domestic, is a critical necessity. As a result, the military
is the most important organization in a country. In America, for instance, $598 billion is spent each
year on the military ( Federal ). Because this is such an expensive, important, and dangerous topic, it
is often debated. One of the most common arguments is whether or not America s militarypresence
is necessary overseas. Due to its foreign benefits, positive domestic effects, and overall creation of
World Peace, the negative side of the argument is outweighed. America s military presence in
foreign countries is necessary. First of all, any war that could occur would most likely be kept in
foreign nations. On September 11, 2001,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If a hostile action did take place, it will also contain most acts of terrorism, violence, and even wars
in the foreign countries that are responsible for them. As a result, the citizens of America would
be able to live carefree lives. In addition to foreign affairs, a domestic military presence can be
used to support a foreign military presence. Many natural disasters occur each year in the United
States, and it is important to help those in need. One of the worst natural disasters in America s
history was Hurricane Katrina. By the time Katrina made landfall on August 29, 2005, America s
military was mobilizing for emergency response (Berthelot). The most important benefit of this is
the fact that soldiers save many lives from floodwaters, earthquake shaken regions, and even areas
scorched by wildfires. The military has equipment that regular citizens do not, and this is
demonstrated by the lowered casualty statistics. In addition, the military often helps to rebuild
structures and get the region back on its feet. As a result, individuals are able to continue to enjoy
their lives. The same effects of a domestic presence would occur as a result of a foreign presence.
Foreign citizens would be able to continue their lives even after disasters. America s military also
helps with domestic hostile occurrences. Recently, Ferguson consistently experienced riots and
violence due to the shooting of an African American. The

How Does Beetle Mass Affect The Beetle s Pulling Power
Mackenzie Madden, T.J Manning,September 2nd, 2015 Danny Minogue, Lindsay Newton
The Effect of Beetle Mass on the Beetle s Pulling Power
Introduction
Does beetle mass effect the pulling power? This theory has been tested by conducting an
experiment with a bess beetle and some paperclips. Pulling power was calculated by dividing the
mass the beetle pulled by the mass of the individual beetle. The data that was collected was
processed into a graph that shows how mass affects the pulling power of these beetles. Bess
beetles are very interesting creatures with a lot of variety. The Bess beetle population makes up
0.14% of all beetles so it was definitely hard to pick just the right one to test. The hypothesis of
this experiment is if the beetle has a large mass, then it will be able to have more pulling power.

Next the beetle was weighed and it s weight was recorded. The dental floss was then tied around
the second and third legs, and taped to the petri dish. A strip of cloth was also needed to provide
traction for the beetle. Then, the petri dish was removed from the beetle and the weight of the
petri dish was recorded. The experiment was then ready to be performed. Paperclips were added
to the dish every 5 10 seconds until the beetle could pull it no more. Then, the petri dish was
removed from the beetle and the weight of was recorded. This experiment s dependent variable was
the amount of mass the beetle can pull, and the independent variable was the mass of the beetle.
There was no control group in this experiment. These were the materials and methods used to

What would you say about Harry s character?
Aristotle: I would say that Harry s character was very tainted and distorted. His only motivation
was brought on by his very own pleasure and pain, which is not in sync with any moral or ethical
virtues. There is nothing by doing which a son will have done the equivalent of what he has
received, so that he is always in debt. For no one could ever return to them (his mom) the
equivalent of what he gets, but the man who serves them with the utmost or his power is thought to

Similarities Between The Spanish Inquisition And The...

During the Inquisition, the world as a whole had an affinity towards religion, whether it was in
Europe, Asia, or the New World, they all focused on religion. In many circumstances religion
was the main factor of deciding, new decrees, declaring war, and the laws that changed the
society as a whole. While some of the disdain towards the Jews was their success in politics and
other professions, it was mostly the desire to have a unified religion that drove the Christians to
persecute the Jews. The idea of mass converting the Jews, did not start occurring during the
Inquisition, it actually started centuries before during the Roman Empire in 64 BCE, when the
General Pompey went to attack Jerusalem. The Spanish Inquisitors routinely tried to convert the
Jew and disprove the torah, they did this by quoting the Talmud and Bible. But one thing unique to
the Inquisition was that the Jews were given a choice to either convert, be expelled, or killed. The
government started by sending in inquisitors to take the Jews into custody and force them to
convert or die, it was not until the March 1492 that the Jews were forced from the country. But the
Jews that converted they were let back into high society, they once again became merchants and

Why Do Companies Use Tax Records
Records pertaining to employment, earnings, and taxes withheld can all be questioned by the
IRS and be audited if any red flags are raised. This shouldn t be a cause for concern if you keep
good records and can prove whatever information was claimed on the forms. The general rule is
to keep tax records for 3 years, but 5 is probably a safer number when it comes to individuals. Keep
in mind that other entities may require information from taxforms including, insurance companies
and credit lenders. Having the documents on hand is smarter and more convenient than hunting
down and/or requesting copies from the IRS sometime in the future. On the other hand, a company
should store tax records indefinitely. The digital age has made this task simpler and less space
consuming.
When and if the time comes to destroy old documents, be sure that the forms are shredded with a

Companies and individuals with a business should store other important documents for the duration
of the existence. These documents can include, but a re not limited to permits, agreements,
contracts, lease and rental agreements, stock information, and mortgage documents, even if the
mortgage has been paid in full. Having these documents stored safely means you can retrieve any
pertinent information needed, provide proof with documentation if necessary, and have a complete
record of the history of the company.
Managing Data
There are many arguments for and against any type of medium that can be implemented to store
and manage data and records. Each medium has its positive characteristics and its drawbacks.
The best record keepers use more than one method to store data, mainly as a backup in case of a
catastrophe. This is where the old adage, it s better to be safe than sorry takes on a greater
significance.

Hispanic Culture And Mexican-Americans
In the United States, Mexican Americans comprise 14.5 percent of the total U.S. population.
Today, while most Mexican Americans live in urban areas, significant numbers comprise both the
north and south, across the United States. However, one misconception is that all Spanish or
Latino cultures are the same. The differences between Mexico and other Latin American countries
include 500 years of separate histories and their specific customs. These specific customs were
present prior to their submission to the Spaniards. Although Spanish is the principal language
spoken by most Hispanics, regional pronunciations and dialects differ in their speech patterns.
Similarly, the Mexican cultures each have different dietary patterns. The traditional Mexican
American diet is rich in a variety of foods and dishes that represent a blend of cultures. Primarily,
pre Columbian, indigenous Indian, Spanish, French, and more recently, American culture.
Traditional diets reflect the geographic regions of Mexico and the availability of local fruits,
vegetables, grains, dairy products, and protein sources. Tap water is often unsafe in Mexico new
immigrants may need to be reassured that U.S. tap water is safe. The family unit is the single most
important social unit in the life of Hispanics. Family responsibilities come before all other
responsibilities. Gender differentiation and male dominance are issues to consider while working
with Hispanic families. The father is the leader of the family,

How a Bill Becomes a Law
In our country s government, Congress plays a major role in decision making. They re primary
role is to pass laws. These laws start off as bills. Bills can only be introduced by members of
Congress. Although these bills only come from Congressman, there are many people who
influence these bills. Such as the president, regular citizens, offices in the executive branch, and
many others. The bills right off the bat do not have a very good chance of passage. Only 1 out of
every 10 bills even gets any attention at all. This is because they must go through many tests and
hearings before they even have a chance of landing on the president s desk. These steps in a bill
becoming a law are very important, and make sure that all bills passed into law... Show more

Other than the fact that they have very little time to look over the legislation. The majority party
is probably the biggest problem will bills. If the majority party doesn t like it the chances of it
making it passed this stage are very little to slim. There are a couple ways to get the bill through
this stage anyway though in the house. The first would be by using what is called a discharge.
The only way for this to work though is to get a petition signed by most of the membership. This
will force the bill to the floor for action and debate. Discharges rarely ever happen though, as
most of the members of the committees have a mutual respect for the other committees. The
Senate does not use discharges. The only other way to get a bill passed after it has been killed at
this stage would be to reintroduce it. Then the bill would have to go back through the
committees and subcommittees to be passed as law. Sixth, the next part of the lawmaking
process is the floor debates. After the bill reaches the full chamber in the Senate and reaches the
rules committee in the house decisions are made. Either two things will happen here, the bill
will be scheduled for floor debates or it will be completely dropped. Usually bills that are able to
make it this far in the process are passed into law. Passing these bills is not as easy as it sounds.
Some bills cost members a lot just to get passed. Especially bills that have to do with spending.

The Decline Of The Demise Of Fatherhood
The Decline of Fatherhood
The decline of fatherhood is the most basic, and unexpected social norm of our time. This major
problem can be captured in a single statistic. In 30 years, from 1960 to 1990, the percentage of
children living away from their biological father had doubled from 17% to 36%. At the turn of the
century nearly 50% of children were living without their father in the household. Few researchers
predicted this trend it is not widely talked about, but this simple fact has led to some of the biggest

Pros And Cons Of Ecotourism
Abstract
Eco tourism is one of the fastest growing industries in the world today. It is a form of natural
resources based tourism focused on experiencing and learning about nature. The term ecotourism
can be well described with the following five criteria: nature conservation, low impact, sustainability
, meaningful community involvement, and environmental education. Environmental education
must be fulfilled to perform ecotourism and is the step towards the process of understanding the
natural ecosystems.
Ecotourism has been growing rapidly over the last decades. Yet, while ecotourism has the potential
to create positive environmental and social impacts, it can unfortunately be as damaging as mass

Oedipus Rex Rhetorical Analysis
When a person is betrayed, the outcomes are usually misery and heartache. Betrayal can have
many different forms and motives. A person can betray another because he or she is driven by
jealousy, greed, impulse or fear. Humans do not only deceive other people but they also have the
ability to mislead themselves. A person s mind can become corroded which can lead to the
distortion of one s rational train of thought. Emotions can also take over a person s sense of
judgement which could lead to misfortune. In Sophocles Oedipus Rex, Laius s foolish deceptionof

Everyone has acquired selfishness, but some are more inclined to indulge in it than others. In
the poem Oedipus Rex, Jocasta stated that The days [her] baby lived were scarcely three/ when
Laius yoked his feet and had a man/ abandon him on pathless hills to die./ Apollo didn t make his
words come true,/ he didn t make my son patricide, and Laius didn t die the way he feared,...
Lines 716 721 Laius was so self involved and worried that he would be killed that he gave up the
life of his own son. He thought that if he had the baby left to die that the prophecy would not
come true. By being selfish, he gave up the life of his son and caused terror and turmoil on many
people. His self centered nature set the prophecy in motion to come true and have him die at the
hands of his son. If he had not left Oedipus out of fear for his own life, Jocasta never would have
died. She would never have faced the terrible truth that her son was her husband. Finally, Laius
caused Oedipus to become mentally unstable and a murderer. By leaving Oedipus on the
mountainside to die, Laius also left Oedipus with a questioning mentality. Throughout the book,
Oedipus is always questioning himself and fate. Who am I? Who killed the King? What should I
do? Why did this happen to me? Laius made Oedipus question everything in his life, for Laius left
him knowing nothing. When the oracle

Students Should Be Banned Books
Growing up, many students were raised with the idea that the best way to spark our imagination or
to learn about our society in the past was through the power of reading. But, as themes get darker
and words get harsher, different communities believe that certain books, for example Harry Potter
and the Sorcerer s Stone and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, should be banned. But, how can
children continue to learn if they are constantly banning books that can not only spark their
imagination, but gives them an idea about why certain situations has taken place and how to handle
those situations? In our modern day society, students should be allowed to read banned books, even
though some books contain a massive amount of violence, profanity, and bias opinions. The reasons
why students should be allowed the right to read banned books is because it gives them the right to
develop their creativity and to help them understand the real world. Throughout history, the use of
racial terminology and racial discrimination were common among the African American community
in our American society. The main reason many students, such as myself, knew this kind of
information was through the power of reading literature. As Jamie Leigh, writer for Punchels, states
These bullets of candor don t injure young people. They simply open up their minds, or even offer
them something to identify with. (Leigh 2016) So why shelter students from situations, for

A Business Is Fundamentally A Function Of Decision Making...
Introduction Operating a business is fundamentally a function of decision making; not only must
an organization decide what industry or industries it will operate in, but also what products or
services to offer customers; what customers the organization will service; how those goods
/services are produced and marketed; how profits will be utilized and invested and ultimately,
how an organization will create sustainable competitive advantage within their industry or
industries. Essentially, organizations are faced with a number of problems they must then set
out to solve. However, despite the resources available to aid in the decision making process or
the reasoning behind any particular choice, not all decisions prove beneficial. It is a sad fact that
in business, some decisions do not prove to be the profitable endeavors they appear to be. By the
same token, there are some cases in which senior leadership make poor decisions despite what their
resources are telling them. One example of this type of situation can be seen in the failed

The Incidence Of Aki Between Two Perioperative Antibiotic...
Anecdotal evidence suggested an increase incidence of AKI when gentamicin was used in
combination with cefazolin and vancomycin for perioperative prophylaxis of elective hip and knee
replacements. As post operative AKI is associated with increased morbidity and mortality, the aim
of this study was to compare the incidence of AKI between two perioperative antibiotic regimens in
patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty (THA) and total knee arthroplasty (TKA).
Methods
This was a retrospective cohort that evaluated 300 patients who underwent elective hip or knee
replacements that received cefazolin, vancomycin and gentamicin or cefazolin and vancomycin for

There was no significant difference in rates of PJI, CDAD, length of stay, need for acute
hemodialysis, or readmission related to AKI.
Background
There were more than 1,000,000 total hip and knee replacements in the United States in 2010.1
Prosthetic joint infections (PJIs) are a rare complication of joint replacements, estimated to be less
than 2% of cases, but result in significant morbidity and increased healthcare costs.2 Frequently, PJI
requires removal of the prosthesis and a prolonged course of IV antibiotics. It has been estimated
that the cost of one PJI is approximately $100,000 after a hip arthroplasty and $60,000 after a knee
arthroplasty.2 Perioperative prophylactic antibiotics for total joint replacements have been proven
to reduce rates of surgical site infections.2 3 It is recommended that prophylactic antibiotics are
administered within one hour prior to surgical incision and are discontinued within 24 hours
following the end of surgery.4 First generation cephalosporins, such as cefazolin, are the agents
most commonly utilized for antimicrobial prophylaxis in joint replacement procedures.2,5
Vancomycin may be used in addition to a first generation cephalosporin in institutions considered to
have a high rate of methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) surgical site infections. 2 If
there is local data to suggest gram negative pathogens as a cause of PJI then it is recommended to
consider the addition

Rap Culture And The Culture Of Rap And Its Culture Rap and its culture how it has and still is changing the world Nathan Campbell Rockford Lutheran Has Hip hop and the artists involved changed society and how people view business, social norms, fashion and other things of that sort in the U.S.? Ever wonder why a genre of music that started in the 1970s in a small area in New York is now seen and heard everywhere? Rap music has changed the world in many ways with its fashion, business, and their points of view. Even if you don t think it right off the bat music changed many people s minds and beliefs even if they don t like the music. With the amount of resource that these rappers have it has been very easy for the artists and the managers to gain exposure and anything else they put their minds to. An eating disorder is a compulsion to avoid eating in order to lose weight while a diet is cutting down eating or healthier eating in order to lose weight. The three types of an eating disorders are anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder. All three disorders are important and they all deserve immediate treatment. No matter what eating disorder someone has, it can resort in organ damage and sometimes even death. The average that someone develops anorexia is 19 years old (NIMH), but that does not mean a person can only be 19 in order to develop an eating disorder. The NIMH has reported cases of eating disorders reporting in ages as low as .1 percent of eight to eleven year olds and .2 percent of twelve to fifteen year olds. Eating disorders are becoming more common for students in high school and college, since they view it as a coping mechanism to handle their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Review Of The Fall Of Constantinople Essay Jeffery Jacob World History [Teacher name here] December 21st, 2016 The Fall of Constantinople Byzantium was one of the many Greek city states that stratled along the coasts of the Aegean Sea. As an abundant source of Grains, fish, and trade, she played a pivotal role as a landing for Darius colossal army against the Greeks; a battleground between Athens and Sparta during the Pelloponessian war; and a prized tributary under Roman supervision. The Roman Emperor, Constantine I, renamed the city after himself and the newly christened Constantinoplegrew to eclipse Rome as the greatest Capital of Europe. Even after the continent was plunged into the so called Dark Ages ; protected by the indominable Theodosian Wall, The Queen of Cities , as the Greek speaking Byzantines called her, retained her position as the most prestine City of the early Middle Ages. And became the seat of power for the great Basilieis, Greek plural for Emperors, and the venerated Patriarchs of the Eastern Orthodox Church. Yet the middle ages made life more turbulant for the aged Byzantine Empireas it lost vast swathes of land to the surging Muslim Caliphate; struggled with internal corruption throughout its lifetime; clung desperately to its commercial power in the face of competition from merchant republics such as Genoa and Venice; and embroiled itself into several centuries of conflicts with the Turks over control of Anatolia, modern day Turkey. The fear of death and beyond death is solely dependent to the person who committed the sins. The religion clearly explains the procedure by describing the eternal suffering in the blazes. Therefore, if the person tries hard enough to overcome the fear of death, it is possible to overcome the fear of the margin, Unlike the fear of hell which was originally within the individual and religion, the fear brought from the propaganda is based on the other individual and politics. In ancient Egypt, women used softened papyrus tampons, while the Greeks utilized lint wrapped around small pieces of wood, and the Romans wore pads and tampons made of soft wool. Considered impure in the Jewish culture during biblical times, the proclivity of physically separating women from men during menstruation is habitual, as well as any object they touched or sat on. These fads were perpetuated in Europe in the 1800s. With a more natural approach, women during this period allowed their menstruation to bleed into their clothing. • 9. Berlin Argument Of Negative Liberty Analysis Analysis of Berlin s Argument of Negative Liberty: Berlin considers negative liberty as the area within which a man can act unobstructed by others (Stewart, 90). The obstructions contain not only physical limitations but also human involvement. We should take the example of cab driver within the automobile who agrees to the region s government tacitly by mere residence and also via enjoying the ups and downs of the daily life. Now, in this process of driving we cannot say that the friction, gravity or the climatic disaster are the cause of limiting the freedom of the driver but the actual cause are the speeds limits, lack of money to buy a vehicle and the driving habits of others. However it should be understood that in civilized society, there is give and take freedom, which in the case will lead to the agreeing if most of the people that safety of others produces more of a benefit than the loss of freedom from traffic laws. It is because of the assumption by them that traffic laws are civil and just since it produces more greater good. Now, take the other example of money and poverty. Berlin feels that the poverty can be defined in several ways. But, we need to analyse the human influence, without personal disability in order to truly consider an infringement upon freedom. Money limits freedom as it creates strain and economic inequality which in turn, leads to poverty and limits the person s freedom to make choices. Adhering to a strict sense of the concept of negative freedom, money does impose upon the inhabitants who cannot obtain the capital to thrive in a barter free society. John T Bookman provides a vivid picture in that sense. He explain that money opened the doors to an emergence of economic classes, which strain relations among people and that human relations in the state of nature have been strained by economic inequality, and a desire to protect property is a major reason for quitting the state of nature and instituting civil society (Bookman, 364). Now, it is evident that the notion of negative freedom comes with the cavet that it is impossible to create a fine line from which a truly free society can be established. Berlin states, we cannot remain absolutely free, and must give up some ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As a result, the military is the most important organization in a country. In America, for instance, $598 billion is spent each year on the military ( Federal ). Because this is such an expensive, important, and dangerous topic, it is often debated. One of the most common arguments is whether or not America s militarypresence is necessary overseas. Due to its foreign benefits, positive domestic effects, and overall creation of World Peace, the negative side of the argument is outweighed. Many natural disasters occur each year in the United States, and it is important to help those in need. One of the worst natural disasters in America s history was Hurricane Katrina. By the time Katrina made landfall on August 29, 2005, America s military was mobilizing for emergency response (Berthelot). The most important benefit of this is the fact that soldiers save many lives from floodwaters, earthquake shaken regions, and even areas scorched by wildfires. The military has equipment that regular citizens do not, and this is demonstrated by the lowered casualty statistics. In addition, the military often helps to rebuild structures and get the region back on its feet. As a result, individuals are able to continue to enjoy their lives. The same effects of a domestic presence would occur as a result of a foreign presence. Foreign citizens would be able to continue their lives even after disasters. • 25. How Does Beetle Mass Affect The Beetle s Pulling Power Mackenzie Madden, T.J Manning,September 2nd, 2015 Danny Minogue, Lindsay Newton The Effect of Beetle Mass on the Beetle s Pulling Power Introduction Does beetle mass effect the pulling power? This theory has been tested by conducting an experiment with a bess beetle and some paperclips. Pulling power was calculated by dividing the mass the beetle pulled by the mass of the individual beetle. The data that was collected was processed into a graph that shows how mass affects the pulling power of these beetles. Bess beetles are very interesting creatures with a lot of variety. The Bess beetle population makes up 0.14% of all beetles so it was definitely hard to pick just the right one to test. The idea of mass converting the Jews, did not start occurring during the Inquisition, it actually started centuries before during the Roman Empire in 64 BCE, when the General Pompey went to attack Jerusalem. The Spanish Inquisitors routinely tried to convert the Jew and disprove the torah, they did this by quoting the Talmud and Bible. The first would be by using what is called a discharge. The only way for this to work though is to get a petition signed by most of the membership. This will force the bill to the floor for action and debate. Discharges rarely ever happen though, as most of the members of the committees have a mutual respect for the other committees. In our modern day society, students should be allowed to read banned books, even though some books contain a massive amount of violence, profanity, and bias opinions. The reasons why students should be allowed the right to read banned books is because it gives them the right to develop their creativity and to help them understand the real world.
