The Volcanic Activities On Earth
Introduction A volcano is said to be a rapture which occurs in the crust of the earth and it allows lava,
dangerous gasses as well as volcanic ash to escape to the surface of the earth from the magma which is
placed in areas below the earth. The volcanic activities on earth have a deep history which shows that
they have been active for a long time. The volcanoes on earth usually occur when the crust on the
surface of the earth is broken into tectonic plates. The tectonic plates usually float on the hotter and
the softest layer in its own mantle. This shows that the volcanic activities on earth usually occur where
the tectonic plates on earth are either converging or diverging. The erupted volcanoes can be very
hazardous in various ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Indonesia is said to have the largest number of volcanoes on earth which means that the tectonic plates
in this area are converging or diverging. Most of the volcanic activities on the surface of the earth are
said to be more than 10,000 years old. In fact, some of the volcanic activities on earth are 100,000
years old. This shows that the history of the formation of volcanoes has been dated back in the ancient
times. There are historical myths which explain how the volcanoes came to be in Hawaii. There was a
goddess of volcanoes in Hawaii who was called Pele who had various periods of anger and she was
believed to cause mass eruptions (McNutt, 2015). The volcanic activities and the earthquakes in
Hawaii are believed to have been formed using Peles magic stick. All over the world, each community
living in the volcanic areas usually had a myth or folktales which explained the origin of the volcanoes
and it was associated with gods. Scientifically, the formation of volcanoes can be explained from the
melting of the mantle. The mantle is found between the molten iron core and the crust at the surface of
the earth. After the mantle melts, it moves to the surface of the earth through the crust and it releases
some of the most dangerous gasses on the surface of the earth. The melting of the mantle is caused by
the high temperatures which are found in that zone and also the high pressure found in this area. This
causes the rock to melt

Srutinize The Quote From Heilbroner And Milberg
Scrutinize the Quote from Heilbroner/Milberg The evolution of the market economy has its roots in
tradition and command systems. Even today, market economies rely on practices that have a
resemblance to those of the middle ages and antiquity. If a person of yester years were exposed to the
workings of the free market, they would be baffled with how resources are allocated to the right places
especially labor and production. The beginnings of the economic society are traced to the relatable but
separate problems that the society faced: the production of sufficient goods and services that would
ensure the survival of the society and the organization of production output to make certain that there
is more production (Heilbroner and Milberg 4). All medieval societies sought for ways to deal with
these problems. Through history, humankind has tried to solve the problems of production and
distribution in three ways: tradition, command and market economies (Heilbroner and Milberg 6). All
these solutions are relatable to each other with some aspects of each overarching on the others. For the
tradition solution, it focused on solving the issue of production. Each member of the society had their
role predefined similar to their parents occupations. Notably, sons ... Show more content on

These forces of evolution range from the nomadic merchant, urbanization, the religious crusades, the
amalgamation of political and economic power, exploration, the changing currents of the religious
climate, Calvinism, the collapse of the manorial system, and the emergence of the cash economy
(Heilbroner and Milberg 32 41). All these factors contributed to the rise in cash and money
transactions as the pinnacles of the economic solution, and the individual started acting in accordance
to economic motives with their central concern being to make

The Church Of God A Harmony That Offers Possibilities For...
Introduction One particular late afternoon of 33 AD there was that very day two men were going to a
village named Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem, and they were talking with each other
about all these things that had happened over the past few weeks . Just as these men that were walking
down the street to the village of Emmaus, and they did not realize whom this Stranger was... until their
eyes were opened..., so has the many debates of the Church fathers from the birth of the Church and
written Word, and continuing even to this day. Some of the questions that would be asked of the
Church fathers may have been: Is the Word or Kingdom future or present? Is it mystical, spiritual or
material? Is it the church or the world or could it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the very commencing of the Church with the flow of contemporary evangelical crusade,
conservative Protestants have splintered, disputed, and shattered the Church, Word, who Jesus, who
God, who the Holy Spirit is, and over the Heavenly Kingdom . The centuries of Church fathers and all
following the second century seemed to not only debate the meanings of the Scriptures, but also
questioned the reality of the Word as well. The 18th century marked the beginning of the great
evangelical revivals surrounded by a number of protestant churches across the western world, in
particular America and Europe. German theologian Friedrich Schleiermacher was born on 21
November 1768 in Breslau, Lower Silesia; he originated writing towards the end of the century, in a
knowledgeable, intellectual, philosophical, devoted to religion with the encamp using the

Romanticism movement in Germany. He also attempts to reconcile Enlightenment thought with
Protestant Christianity, and maintained a very subjective/relativist approach to theology and
philosophy. Schleiermacher viewed Scripture is therefore not normative, and sought to rescue religion
from rationalistic attacks of skeptics

Technology Enhanced Simulation Training With Debriefing
BACKGROUND: Innovations within the healthcare industry related to scientific and technical
advancements often lead to changes in healthcare delivery. To cope with these changes, it is necessary
to prepare and train healthcare workers to improve employees knowledge and the quality of care.
Limited clinical experience with the mechanical ventilation approach, like high frequency oscillatory
ventilation (HFOV), makes its implementation difficult in the real critical care world. The authors
investigated the effectiveness of technology enhanced simulation with debriefing in improving
participants confidence level, cognitive knowledge and psychomotor skills in using SensorMedics
3100B high frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV) in adult patients. METHODS: This is a quasi
experimental research design with pre and post tests. The educational strategy involved technology
enhanced simulation training with debriefing. The population included critical care respiratory
therapists, residents, fellows and attending physicians at Rush University Medical Center. RESULT:
Twenty six participants were included for data analysis; 12 respiratory therapists and 14 critical care
physicians. There were almost an equal number of females (53.8%) and males (46.2%). The
improvement was statistically significant in cognitive knowledge test score with p value .05; t (25) =

Volcanoes Stereotypes
Volcanoes are fascinating things that get stereotyped. Many people think of volcanoes are a
destruction to Earth. In reality they help the Earth in many ways. Volcanoes enrich soil, creates jobs,
and form beautiful scenery.
Over 10,000 years ago a humongous volcano erupted in Naples, Italy. The debri and ash from the
volcano has enrich or improved the soil. This soil has gained nutrition and other minerals making the
soil great for plant growth. The crops there have been intensely growing for over 2,000 years. Plants
are reacting to the soil fertilization very well. The soil is making it easier to grow crops, the soil has
allowed the plants to really set their roots and start growing. Volcanoes also help farmers because of
the enriched soil.

Frankenstein Chapter 4 Study Guide
1. The paradox that the creature sees in humankind is that humans can be glorified and worshipped at
one point but, can later fall and have a downfall. The capricious nature of humans is what surprises the
creature. This is shown when the creature is watching the De Laceys and the old man is reading a
book, Ruins of An Empire about the Greeks and Romans and in both of these empires they both had a
rise and then they both eventually fell. Also, he also learned how humans have many different sides to
them on one hand they can be good and caring but also, learned that they can be evil and vicious
towards one another.

Rhetorical Analysis Of How To Tame A Wild Tongue
Blah Blah Blah Title In How to Tame a Wild Tongue, Gloria Anzaldua uses rhetoric and personal
anecdotes to convey and persuade her argument that Latin Americans are forced to relinquish their
cultural heritage, and to conform to white society. The evidence she provides comes in a variety of
platforms, both literal and rhetorical. Rhetorical, being through emotional, logical, and credible
appeals through her text. Literal being explicitly stated, without any further analysis necessary. When
she utilises the modes of appeals, they are subtle within the texts, which leads the reader to analyse as
they read. She conveys ideas of internalised oppression, involuntarily imposed upon to follow strict
social rules, the act of people erasing cultural heritage, as well as the importance of embracing
personal heritage. Throughout her essay, Anzaldua s main structure is unlike the standard structure of
an essay. Her thoughts are organised, and radical, which gives a more personal tone to her essay. This
radical structure is witnessed within the introductory paragraphs, she begins her essay with an
anecdote. The dentist is telling her in an authoritarian tone, we re going to have to control your tongue
, which has a double meaning. One meaning within the anecdote, the dentist is an authority figure and
is implying that her tongue is out of control and that it needs to be in control. The second meaning of
this is that the dentist represents society, and he is cleaning out the

A Chrysanthemum Argument
Arguments
It was several weeks into summer break, but I, Lisa, wasn t even old enough to go to school yet.
Technically, it wasn t really even summer break for me. This summer, Chrysanthemum came back
from Asia. Chrysanthemum is my grandma from my mother s side. When Chrysanthemum came over,
things got messy.
Previously there was something that happened in her country. That something involves my two
grandmas and three of my aunts. One of my grandmas were from my father s side and the aunts were
also from my father s side. My grandma from that side is named Gem. Chrysanthemum was involved
too. There were a fight and an argument. It began with a pretty hot and nice day. It was that way
because my aunt took me to fun and pretty places. Where I got to try and see new things. It was a
good day until I came to Gem s house. Chrysanthemum rode a motorcycle to the house I was staying
at. She rode over to the house because she wanted to pick me up. Because it was her turn to take care
of me, but Gem didn t let her. Chrysanthemum was mad because of ... Show more content on

than the market. Hours later, my grandma from my mother s side came by the house I was staying at.
Just in mind, I was already at Gem s house and was sitting outside on a chair. She stood outside the
fence that was around the house and told me to take my things and go with her. My grandma from my
father s side heard what Chrysanthemum said to me, and said, Do not. I didn t know why because at
that time I was in Asia, without my parents, and was very young. When she said that to me I didn t
know what to do, so I started to cry. I think that they were arguing who would get me/whose turn it

The Historical Development Of Capitalism
The most effective system to exist in the world, capitalism, triumphed in uniting the world into a
solitary system. Capitalism can be defined as an economic system in which employers hire workers to
produce goods and services that will be marketed with the intention of making a profit (Bowles et al.,
2005) (p. 74). Furthermore, the social order is significantly impacted by the relationship between the
capitalist mode of production and the mode of exchange, however, there is a rebuttal in the economic
order of this system. The purpose of this essay is to, first explain what Engel s means by historical
materialism, and then to analyze the fundamental contradictions the capitalist mode of production has
on the social order, and examine the social and economic problems that arise from the contradiction.
The conclusion of this essay will state the outcome of the historical development of capitalism,
according to Engels. It is very important for one to understand the concept of historical materialism
before analyzing Engels ideas and critiques of capitalism. Historical materialism examines the
material conditions of the society, along with social relations and social structure. In simple words,
this means that material conditions shape the social structure and economy. In his work Theoretical,
Engels establishes what he means by historical materialism. Engels (1939) states The materialist
conception of history starts from the principle that production, and with

a HR manager assistant, he also needs to save the accurate records, including personal information,

Loyalty In Beowulf
Literature in a certain time period can reflect the ideals and values of the people who existed during
the time period. values such as loyalty, heroism, and paganism conflicted with Christianity. Many of
these deals from the Anglo Saxon period can easily be compared to the situations in the epic poem
Beowulf
Uniquely, loyalty is a highly valued ideal in the Anglo Saxon period. In Beowulf, loyalty is shown in
the kingdom that Beowulf helps. Along with the fact that the village would celebrate often. This
vividly paints a picture of how even though the Anglo Saxons are barbaric they value the family unit,
tribal loyalty, and the kingdom as a whole. In the poem Beowulf it states all of Beowulf s band had
jumped from their beds, ancestral swords raised and read and determined (Burton Raffel 31). This
expresses that a large band of people were loyal to Beowulf when they rushed over to join the cause.
This contributes that love and loyalty in the kingdom. Notable this reflects how loyalty was valued to
the Anglo Saxons.
Comparatively, heroism is another valued ideal in the Anglo Saxon period. Heroism can be shown in
Beowulf because of the themes of courage and skill in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of the pagan ideas stayed and both are depicted in the poem. Omens are something pagan that
the poem mentions. The omens were good and they urged the adventure on. So Beowulf chose the
mightiest men he could find. Omens are general something more associated with a pagan religion.
This is one aspect of the poem where the values of paganism shine through. On the other hand,
Christianity is also themed in the poem. For example the quote The almighty making the earth and
shaping these beautiful plains marked off by oceans. Then proudly setting the sun and the moon. The
almighty refers to god in the Christian religion. The rest of the quote describes slightly a creation story

Movies Falling Under The Romance And Drama Genre, Often
Movies falling under the romance and drama genre, often have a predictable plot of usually two
people falling in love along with some drama that could lead to a very intriguing film. Director Ross
Katz, took the novel The Choice, written by Nicholas Sparks, and casted the novel into a film where a
large variety of cinematography techniques are used to get different perspectives on the film.
Cinematographer Alar Kivilo and director Ross Katz use different cinematic points of view, color, and

four subsections, objective, subjective, indirective and directors interpretive. The different categories
of cinematic points of view determine how the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In The Choice, the objective point of view is being used when Travis takes Gabby and his other four
friends on a boat ride to the middle of the lake. The camera is being placed alongside the boat so the
viewers can watch what the friends are undertaking. In some of the scene, we can see the whole boat
while Travis is driving and the rest of the friends are relaxing. The women are laying out on the front
end of the boat with their hair flying from the wind and the men are sitting near the back of the boat
talking to Travis and conversing. It would be most logical for this scene to be objective because then
we can see what is going on at once and still feel as if we there enjoying time with them in the sun and
feeling the fresh air from the boat ride. The objective point of view is mainly used the most throughout
the film.
In another particular scene, Gabby and Travis are having a candle lit, romantic supper together. The
camera is placed at the end of the table, angling up in a way so we can see the food, plates, silverware,
and cups sitting on the table. Gabby and Travis are sitting at the same physical level so the camera can
capture both of their faces while they are looking at each other. With the camera angling up it makes
us feel as if Gabby and Travis are even closer now as they were before because they are getting more
comfortable around each other. After their romantic supper, they both do dishes and proceed to start
vigorously grabbing one

Ebola In The Hot Zone
Introduction
In the medical thriller, The Hot Zone, Preston states that flawed decisions in outbreak situations are a
threat to human survival. Ebola is known by many to be lethal and in recent years, has caused an
interest within the public. Many in the United States have shown fear towards the threat of Ebola in
the country, which has caused many to also research the effects of Ebola on the human body.
Moreover, Ebola poses a threat to the safety of medical professionals; doctors must be able to safely

The Sunflower By Simon Wiesenthal Essay
Vince Lombardi, an American football player, and a coach, once said, Leaders aren t born, they are
made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. With these words, Lombardi
highlights that people are nurtured to become a leader and a follower. For instance, Lombardi asserts
that a person is trained, whether to be a leader, or a follower, through eagerness and determination.
The book, The Sunflower, written by Simon Wiesenthal, an author and a Jewish holocaust survivor,
who focuses on one of the most controversial topics during and after World War II, forgiveness. In this
book, Weisenthal talked about a questionable case in which Karl, an SS soldier who murdered
plentiful of people, asked Weisenthal for forgiveness for all the pain he had done towards all the
people that were affected by him. When it comes to the topic of whether people are born to become
leaders or followers or is one trained by the environment, most people will readily agree that people
are conditioned to become a leader or a follower, where this agreement usually ends, however, is on
the question of, What makes a person a leader? Whereas some are convinced that people are natural
born leaders. Becoming a leader consists with a few reasons such as developed leadership skills, the
bystander apathy, and the diffusion of responsibility.

Against Mandatory Drug Testing
Drug testing applicants, as well as recipients, on welfare has been an ongoing debate for multiple
years. Many have argued that if an individual has to be tested to get a paycheck, others should be
tested and screened to receive a federal check of financial aid. Those individuals who are recipients of
the welfare program should be drug tested nationwide to eliminate the problematic spending of
taxpayer dollars. Since 1971, this type of testing has been used for military purposes, in the work
force, and has recently been incorporated into state welfare laws. With this addition, controversial
topics, such as how these tests are paid for and whether or not they violate the fourth amendment as an

In addition to this case, the Supreme Court unanimously ruled that collecting urine is classified as

Blow 2 Essay
#1. The Autoblow 2
With the Autoblow 2, a new and improved masturbator for men, you will soon experience a sex toy
that sets a new standard in realistic masturbation. You will be able to give your arm a rest and allow
this blowjob machine to automatically work a load or two out!
The Autoblow 2 retains its predecessor s best features, but adds more to offer better experience for its
users. As for me, it offered a whole new way to get a high level of pleasure without having to use my
hands, unlike what you would do with old school male sex toys and jerk in up and down motions.
Now, if you are asking yourself is the Autoblow 2 is really that good, then read on.
The Autoblow 2 is designed to be a one size fits all fake vagina. This means that the blowjob machine
can be used by men with different penis sizes. It sports 3 differently sized sleeves small, medium and
large so, you will just have to pick one that fits yourself. These sleeves are interchangeable and are
also very easy to clean. In fact, it is probably easier to clean than other fake vaginas out on the market
today. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though it is referred to by many people as a toy, it is actually a blowjob machine that has the
industrial strength, which is not only powerful, but is also built to last after many uses. With the
Autoblow 2, you will no longer need to keep on spending on toys that get broken easily. It is not
operated with a battery (instead you can just plug it into an electric socket), so you will not experience
the hassle of batteries becoming weak and eventually dying out, which can be a very frustrating
experience if it would happen while your penis is inside the device they are supposed to power up. For
its sleeves, they are made of materials that give you a realistic feeling while you are at

Stephen T. Asma s Book On Monsters
There is such kind of monsters, remain their appearance as a human, yet the things they do can only
describe as monstrosities. They are not monsters in books and literature, a fear of unknown or sexual
desires. People were, or still are facing actual brutal violence or psychological terror from those
monsters. More importantly, the monster being talked here is one of our kind. They are human, yet
described as inhuman , under the inhuman category of Stephen T. Asma s book On Monsters, a bloody
history, a dark past of humanity have been introduced as a monster. It is Khmer Rouge s infamous
security prison S21: the representation of the massacre took place in Cambodia in 20th century and
this kind of monster, unfortunately, is still relevant to the world, even till this day.
In just three years of its power in control, Pol Pot and Khmer Rouge turned the country of Cambodia
into a living hell. By 1976 approximately twenty five hundred prisoners had passed through the
bloody corridors of S21, and each year that followed saw increased numbers of tortured prisoners,
until they totaled around seventeen thousand by 1979, when the Vietnamese Army liberated Phnom
Penh. (8 Asma) Most prisoners brought to S21 was innocent, they were brought here only because
the people in power believe they were enemies of the revolution or associated with western culture.
Ironically, the torture chamber used to be a school. People associate hope and bright future with

The Idea Of A Mixed Economy Of Canada
A country s economy can determine the state of the nation s future and its people. Canada s economy
is one of the largest economies on the planet. The United States of America has proposed a new
economic system for Canada to adapt which is a market economic system. The Idea of a market
economy is that individuals can set their own price for their products without the government s
intervention. This nation is globally known for equality and we have every intention to preserve that
image thereby we are to remain as a mixed economy. A mixed economy benefits the entirety of
society relative to other economic systems, as it allows you to get richer and have more power but has
regulation in place to make sure that the poor don t get to the point of starvation, and so that the rich
don t get to the point of absolute power and a defined role ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A government s involvement helps keep businesses whether big or small from drying out, which helps
regulate the economy. A mixed economy allows the individual and the government to make economic
decisions for society, and both solve the problem of scarcity. The government has power in the
economy, therefore, the economy meets the requirements of both government and its individuals.
Compared to a mixed economy a Market economy is an economy which private citizens operate and
own businesses and factories which market price is molded by supply and demand. In a market
economy, the government has little to no control of the economy. People are concerned about
gargantuan corporations running their economy making a mixed economy better as it provides
assurance to our people s welfare during economic downturns. The mixed economic system where the
government has a defined role is preferable for our nation s

Kate Chopin s Awakening Essay
Kate Chopin s Awakening
Kate Chopin s depiction of The Awakening is realistic as she develops Edna Pontellier s character
from a socially and morally respectable individual to an individual that turns her back on everything
closest to her as she births her new self being. Edna Pontellier struggles between her subconscious and
conscious thoughts as unusual feelings stir unfounded emotions and senses. Some of Chopin s
characters lend themselves in Edna s awakening . Through examination of Leonce Pontellier, Robert
Lebrun, Madame Moiselle Reisz, Adele Ratignolle, and Alcee Arobin the life of Edna Pontellier turns
into her ultimate death. The relationship she has with each one of these characters influences and
initiates a lost feeling ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lack of Leonce s attention leaves Edna s vulnerability, as a woman with needs, exposed to the
elements. Leonce s dedication to his business has left his marriage on quicksand. He isn t aware of any
pending danger and doesn t realize the need of intimacy in their marriage.
He is not given to jealousy even as Rober Lebrun dedicates himself as Edna s patron. Leonce s lack of
affection and his accusations of Edna not minding the children properly adds one more stepping stone
toward her awakening. Though Mr. Pontellier might have been somewhat accurate, Chopin reveals,
Edna loved her children in an unorthodox manner and only longed for them every once in a while.
They were easily remembered and forgot with no conscious thought of ineptness. When they were
away for the previous summer at their father s mother s place in Iberville, Edna knew they were in
good hands. At ease with their safety she did not miss them. On occasion she longed for them
immensely, but their absence was a comfort to her though her subconscious would not let her
conscious confirm it (33). Leonce s constant absence for long periods of time was nothing unusual and
accepted with little grievance. The children s absence during the summer was of the same degree.
Edna had no real physical, intimate, or emotionally touching relationship until Robert Lebrun came
into her life.

Miss Brill Literary Analysis
Attempting to escape her own reality Miss Brill from Katherine Mansfield s short story Miss Brill ,
creates a fantasy world where she doesn t have to face the reality of her lonely insecure life, until it all
comes crashing down in front of her in a matter of moments. This story, although really short is very
compelling because the author has managed to put the reader inside of Miss Brills mind letting us in
on all her insecurities and thoughts. Out of fear, people build walls isolating themselves from society.
Consequently, causing them to go all their life being lonely and miserable. Fear of loneliness being the
central theme is emphasized with major symbols throughout this story. The author suggests that being
out of touch with one s own reality because of fear of loneliness can cause our own demise.

Why all of the sudden? In regard to that question, my paper will include a history of events leading up
to this sudden crack down on drug trafficking, from its start in the 1960 s until today. After the history

In February 2011 the United States began sending unarmed drones to collect information on drug
traffickers. Later in August, the United States started in cross border raids, sending CIA operatives and
older military personnel to aid the Mexican military. In addition to assisting Mexico, the United States
increased security on our side and spends approximately $3 billion on securing the border.
Decriminalization is a highly disputed policy option, in November of 2012 two states in the United
States passed laws for the legalization of recreational use of marijuana. However, it is still a United
States federal law that marijuana is illegal. Although decriminalization would lead to less
incarcerations, it would put more drugs in the hands of users and increase drug exporting from
Mexico. A prime strategy that both the United States and Mexico have been using is to take out the
high value individuals or foot soldiers . This takes out the mass exporters but still leaves the middle
and lower class drug traffickers. Which then the middle class moves up and takes over for whatever
high value cartel that was just taken out. Almost immediately after, Mexico s new president, Enrique

The Golden Age Of A Civil War Across China Essay
Daoism appeared as a reaction to a civil war across China, known as the warring states period, which
caused a wide feeling of civil unrest. The war went on for nearly two hundred and fifty years and
spread across the Zhou Dynasty, which was divided into eight separate states. Daoist believed that war
was a result of excessive desire, and only through modest desire will people and the state experience
peace and unity. Daoist argued that desire and all actions must be natural, and we must return to nature
to establish our balance. We must return to nature and to a time like the Golden Age, that came before
the Zhou Empire and the warring states. The Golden Age refers to a more simple time in life, in which
people had relied on agriculture in small villages with a trusted government that also followed the
way, causing a balance and unity. To manifest this simplicity and selflessness naturally is the Dao,
which is the way of all things. Though in today s world we have strayed far from nature, for reason
and excessive desires have corrupted people and their values. Daoist would believe that our society is
unbalanced ,and we must return to the path of the Dao to restore our unity. We must behave naturally
and act modestly in order to find the way, but like the opposing states in the Zhou Dynasty, we have
excessive desires causing unnatural behaviors. These unnatural behaviors keep many people from
finding the way, but the Daodejing supplies many passages of the effects of

Discretion Of A Law Enforcement Officer
As a law enforcement officer, every situation will be handled differently. Everything is not always
black and white, in fact when it comes to policing there are a lot of grey areas. This is where discretion
plays an important role. An officer will use discretion in almost every situation he or she encounters;
however there are times where an officer s discretion is limited. There are many different factors that
come in to play, some that are limiting to an officer s discretion, and some that increase an officer s
discretion. The role that discretion plays in policing is important because the decisions that an officer
makes affect the lives of the citizens, such as whether an individual should be arrested or not. Where
you have discretion, you have discretion that is misused and you also have the need to control
discretion. The role that discretion plays in policing is important because it affects each and every
decision that a law enforcement officer makes. First, it is important to understand what discretion is.
Discretion is defined as an official action by a criminal justice official based on that individual s
judgment about the best course of action (Walker Katz, 2013, p. 351). This means that a law
enforcement officer has the freedom to act on their own judgment. This definition of discretion is the
reason why law enforcement officers have been known as street level bureaucrats (Walker Katz, 2013,
p. 352). Police officers use discretion to make the

The Theory Of The Political, Economic, And Social Equality
Femanism is defined as the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes (
feminism def. 1). Both the 1980s and 1990s were filled with optimism and inspiration for women in
the fight for equality. The Second wave feminism was a product of the civil right movement, as the
women involved in it became disappointed with being seen as second class operators within the
equality movement. These women are often refered to as the women s liberation movement.
Some of the major issues that broadened the debate for the second wave femanism were sexuality,
family, the workplace, social issues, and reproductive rights (Foster 72). The Third Wave Feminism
challenged the second wave s essentialist definitions of femininity, which was often seen as one
universal female identity and over emphasized the experiences of upper middle class white women,
and began to introduce women of color and other cultures in developing nations (Drake, Heywood
49). This wave is also resposible for reclaiming sexuality (Drake, Heywood 53) Both movements
brought about major changes that affected women s personal life at home, job opportunities, and
culture changes, causing us to changed the way we talk and think. As a result, most of today s women
now believe that their options are/should be as open as men s. Although femanism was present in both
decades, the issues women brought foward and how those issues effected them are different. Linda

Engineering Disasters/Utilitarianism Paper One of the most controversial topics in the field of
renewable energy is nuclear energy. In nineteen eighty six, the Chernobyl power plant in modern day
Ukraine (formerly the USSR) had a major, level seven meltdown. A level seven nuclear disaster is the
highest disaster possible in regards to nuclear event. This meltdown caused billions of tons of
radioactive material to fly into the air that spread all across Europe (Xiang, Zhu). The most recent
major nuclear accident happened in two thousand eleven, in Fukushima, Japan. The nuclear disaster in
Fukushima occurred at fourteen forty six, Japanese time. The disaster occurred because a major
magnitude nine earthquake struck North Eastern Japan and a fifteen meter high tsunami also struck the
power plant (Grimston). There were eleven overall reactors that were effected by the earthquake and
tsunami. Nine of the reactors cooling systems continued to work after the natural disasters occurred,
but reactors one, two and three of the Fukushima Daiichi plant were terribly damaged and could not
cool down the fission process. This is what lead to the one, two and three reactors to melt, causing the
most detrimental damage to the global community (Grimston). Critics of the disasters say that Daiichi
was not up to global nuclear safety standards because the wall the protected the plant was only stable
against six meter tall tsunami waves, not the massive

Stereotypes Of Tv Research Paper
Television heavily relies upon stereotypes to provide a somewhat distorted and glamorized picture of a
variety of occupations, with emphasis on those in the healthcare and legal fields; as a result, the real
responsibilities of individuals in these occupations can be seriously misconstrued by television
viewers and leave them with unrealistic expectations of what certain occupations actually entail.
Although many television viewers are drawn to the legal field as a result of television s depictions of
well dressed, glamorous lawyers who consistently dine out at fancy restaurants and win all of their
cases in a record amount of time, as seen in shows like Suits, the real legal world consists of much

For example, in the popular series House M.D., Gregory House becomes addicted to opiates and
remains employed, with a large variety of duties in the hospital where he works, despite his
increasingly erratic behavior towards his patients. In reality, such behavior would not be tolerated as
lightly as it is on screen. Another example of inaccuracy in terms of how certain behavior would be
tolerated in a residency program is in season 1 of Grey s Anatomy when Izzie intentionally worsens
her patient and love interest Denny s condition in the hopes of getting him moved up on the heart
transplant list. She is allowed to stay in the program despite breaching more than one very serious
medical rule; in reality, though, it is likely that such behavior would have much harsher consequences,
but for the purposes of the show, these same rules do not seem to apply. Another aspect of the medical
profession that appears to be largely dramatized is that of specialization. Doctors on television seem to
specialize to all fields, whereas real life doctors take many years of gaining experience in order to
specialize in one area. An example of such a disparity between television and reality can be seen in
House M.D., when House single handedly performs multiple operations on the same patient, including
a brain biopsy and a gastroscopy. My aunt, who is a breast surgeon, spent many years completing her
residency before finally deciding to specialize in the treatment of breast cancer and other breast related
issues. When I was young and still considering becoming a doctor, she would constantly remind me, It
s nothing like Grey s Anatomy! Grey s Anatomy is another example of a television show that seems to
distort things in the medical profession. For example, many of the characters on the show, including
Meredith Grey and Dr. Derek Shepherd, also referred to as

Analysis Of The Book Toward Perpetual Peace Other...
In the book, Toward Perpetual Peace and Other Writings on politics, Peace and History , Immanuel
Kant shows us that we can find purpose in a life that seems to lack purpose. By not presupposing
individual purposiveness among humans, Kant discovers a natural purpose among all humanity.
Through this fundamental idea, we can see that Kant discovers a universal history from a
Cosmopolitan point of view. Cosmopolitanism centers around the idea that all of humanity belongs to
a single community and is based on a mutual universal morality (among rational individuals). This
essay will focus mainly on the arguments for purposiveness without purpose, specifically the
arguments for purpose and their implications. Furthermore, the question this ... Show more content on

In the human being (as the only rational creature on earth), those natural predispositions aimed at the
use of its reason are to be developed in full only in the species, but not in the individual. This can be
interpreted in my perspective as genes. Since we are not immortal we must practice and perfect our
skills, and by natures will, we pass our perfected genes on to the next generation so they may further
perfect the skill in hopes of finding insight or enlightenment. If this is not to be nature s purpose for
us, our natural capacities should be seen as without direction and useless. The Third Proposition states,
Nature has willed that human beings produce everything that extends beyond the mechanical
organization of their animal existence completely on their own, and that they shall not partake in any
happiness or perfection other than that which they attain free of instinct and by means of their own
reason (Kant, p. 5). Through this premise Kant is saying that nature takes nothing for granted. She is
neither wasteful nor reckless with means to her goal. By giving women and men reason and free will,
nature entails our purpose. Furthermore, nature did not purpose for us to live guided by instinct, as we
lack instinctive knowledge to nurture ourselves and must learn everything ourselves without
instruction, which also entails our purpose as reasoning things who must reason to survive and

PepsiCo. This strategies formulated tool is to summarize and evaluates the major strengths and

Internal strength
One of the strengths that can be found in PepsiCo is in term of strong brand equity. PepsiCo has a

continues to expand and the financial position shows that Coca cola has a strong cash position in
compare to PepsiCo which the long term debt of PepsiCo is so high.
Besides that, another internal weakness of PepsiCo is overdependence on Wal Mart. Wal Mart is the
largest warehouse and supermarket. Unfortunately, more than 13% of PepsiCo business revenues
come from Wal Mart store chain. Wal Mart has a significant buyer power and can easily dictate prices
over PepsiCo leaving it with very small margins. On top, PepsiCo would lose 13% of its revenue and
competitive advantage if the company loses Wal Mart. Therefore, it can be understand that PepsiCo
depends too much on the US market. This is one of the weaknesses that PepsiCo needs to overcome as
the external factors such as inflation can also affect the company if the company cannot be
independent.
Lastly, the internal weakness of PepsiCo is that the company is facing a negative publicity. There are
doubtful practices which accused PepsiCo is using and selling tap water. However, the company

Comparing Film Versions Of Baz Luhrmann s Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet is one of the most tragic love stories ever written. It was written by William
Shakespeare in 1594. There have been many remakes of the play such as Romeo and Juliet directed by
Baz Luhrmann in 1996, Gnomeo and Juliet directed by Kelly Asbury in 2011, and many school plays
reenacting it. The film version by Baz Luhrmann and the script by William Shakespeare can be
compared using three scenes: the balcony scene, Tybalt s death scene, and the final suicide scene. The
balcony scene in Act 2, scene 2 is a major scene both in the film and the script. In the script Juliet

In the film, Romeo and Tybalt end up driving cars, but in the script they are on ground the whole time.
Before actually killing Tybalt, Romeo injures him very bad in the film, but not in the movie. Finally,
Tybalt is killed with a gun in the film, whereas in the movie he is killed by a dagger. The final suicide
scene in Act 5, scene 3 is the greatest scene in both the film and the script. In the script, Juliet s body
was in the Capulet tomb, but in the film Juliet s body was in a church. There were lit candles
surrounding Juliet s body and lighting up the church in the film. Paris was not there for Romeo to kill
in the film like he was in the script. In the film, Juliet wakes up and sees Romeo drink the poison and
die, but when she wakes up in the script he is already dead. Instead of using Romeo s dagger like in
the script, Juliet kills herself with Romeo s gun in the film. As one can see, the film and the script can
be compared using many different scenes. The play was more tragic than the film and had a very clear
context. The film had more sound effects and visuals whereas in the script you had to imagine what
everyone would look like and picture what all the scenes would be like. Romeo and Juliet is the
greatest love story ever written, although it ended in a tragedy. For never was a story of more woe,

Energy Radiation And Its Effect On The Cells
In the past, the applications of light, more specifically laser, in health and clinical applications have

whereas low energy radiation has been found to induce a stimulating effect on the cells. The heat
inducing laser tissue ablation effect used in surgery and the disinfectant antimicrobial effect of light

cowardliness. Indeed, Tybalt, bound by honor to his family, is ready to slay Romeo even at Romeo s
tiny misdemeanor of attending the Capulet party: What, dares the slave / Come hither covered with an
antic face / To fleer and scorn at our solemnity? / Now, by the stock and honor of my kin / To strike
him dead I hold it not a sin. (1. 5. 63 67) Soon after this scene, Tybalt duels with Mercutio in place of
Romeo, and Mercutio falls dead. Obligated to avenge his friend s death, Romeo fights with Tybalt,
and strikes him dead. This results in Romeo s banishment, which, of course, leads to the series of
hasty plans that end in his and Juliet s deaths. Another reason that society is responsible for Romeo
and Juliet s deaths lies in its unjust, poverty creating laws. When Romeo believes Juliet dead (she is
actually asleep), he kills himself with poison, which in turn leads to Juliet s death when she sees him
dead. However, In Mantua, the Italian city to which Romeo is banished, sale of poison is illegal. So,
dear reader, do tell where he could possibly buy poison in a city whose laws prevent potion makers
from making money. Romeo had the same answer, recalling a desperately poor apothecary about
whom he told himself: An if a man did need a poison now / Whose sale is present death in Mantua /

Beautiful children s furniture
Now you have the opportunity of searching for inspirations and also buy baby furniture online. But
initially try to collate ideas instead of outright purchase of any article of baby furniture. Once you
have checked the variety of options and sorted out the useful ones from the junk, you may begin
pondering about the various ways of decoration. Begin by measuring the space thoroughly. See how
much space is being left vacant after arranging all the pieces of baby furniture you want to have here.
Your kids are blessed with a high energy level and it is quite natural that they will use this space as a

  • 2. The Volcanic Activities On Earth Introduction A volcano is said to be a rapture which occurs in the crust of the earth and it allows lava, dangerous gasses as well as volcanic ash to escape to the surface of the earth from the magma which is placed in areas below the earth. The volcanic activities on earth have a deep history which shows that they have been active for a long time. The volcanoes on earth usually occur when the crust on the surface of the earth is broken into tectonic plates. The tectonic plates usually float on the hotter and the softest layer in its own mantle. This shows that the volcanic activities on earth usually occur where the tectonic plates on earth are either converging or diverging. The erupted volcanoes can be very hazardous in various ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Indonesia is said to have the largest number of volcanoes on earth which means that the tectonic plates in this area are converging or diverging. Most of the volcanic activities on the surface of the earth are said to be more than 10,000 years old. In fact, some of the volcanic activities on earth are 100,000 years old. This shows that the history of the formation of volcanoes has been dated back in the ancient times. There are historical myths which explain how the volcanoes came to be in Hawaii. There was a goddess of volcanoes in Hawaii who was called Pele who had various periods of anger and she was believed to cause mass eruptions (McNutt, 2015). The volcanic activities and the earthquakes in Hawaii are believed to have been formed using Peles magic stick. All over the world, each community living in the volcanic areas usually had a myth or folktales which explained the origin of the volcanoes and it was associated with gods. Scientifically, the formation of volcanoes can be explained from the melting of the mantle. The mantle is found between the molten iron core and the crust at the surface of the earth. After the mantle melts, it moves to the surface of the earth through the crust and it releases some of the most dangerous gasses on the surface of the earth. The melting of the mantle is caused by the high temperatures which are found in that zone and also the high pressure found in this area. This causes the rock to melt ... • 3. Srutinize The Quote From Heilbroner And Milberg Scrutinize the Quote from Heilbroner/Milberg The evolution of the market economy has its roots in tradition and command systems. Even today, market economies rely on practices that have a resemblance to those of the middle ages and antiquity. If a person of yester years were exposed to the workings of the free market, they would be baffled with how resources are allocated to the right places especially labor and production. The beginnings of the economic society are traced to the relatable but separate problems that the society faced: the production of sufficient goods and services that would ensure the survival of the society and the organization of production output to make certain that there is more production (Heilbroner and Milberg 4). All medieval societies sought for ways to deal with these problems. Through history, humankind has tried to solve the problems of production and distribution in three ways: tradition, command and market economies (Heilbroner and Milberg 6). All these solutions are relatable to each other with some aspects of each overarching on the others. For the tradition solution, it focused on solving the issue of production. Each member of the society had their role predefined similar to their parents occupations. Notably, sons ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Just as these men that were walking down the street to the village of Emmaus, and they did not realize whom this Stranger was... until their eyes were opened..., so has the many debates of the Church fathers from the birth of the Church and written Word, and continuing even to this day. From the very commencing of the Church with the flow of contemporary evangelical crusade, conservative Protestants have splintered, disputed, and shattered the Church, Word, who Jesus, who God, who the Holy Spirit is, and over the Heavenly Kingdom . The centuries of Church fathers and all following the second century seemed to not only debate the meanings of the Scriptures, but also questioned the reality of the Word as well. The 18th century marked the beginning of the great evangelical revivals surrounded by a number of protestant churches across the western world, in particular America and Europe. German theologian Friedrich Schleiermacher was born on 21 November 1768 in Breslau, Lower Silesia; he originated writing towards the end of the century, in a knowledgeable, intellectual, philosophical, devoted to religion with the encamp using the environmentally shaping by the Enlightenment Period . • 6. Technology Enhanced Simulation Training With Debriefing BACKGROUND: Innovations within the healthcare industry related to scientific and technical advancements often lead to changes in healthcare delivery. To cope with these changes, it is necessary to prepare and train healthcare workers to improve employees knowledge and the quality of care. Limited clinical experience with the mechanical ventilation approach, like high frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV), makes its implementation difficult in the real critical care world. The authors investigated the effectiveness of technology enhanced simulation with debriefing in improving participants confidence level, cognitive knowledge and psychomotor skills in using SensorMedics 3100B high frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV) in adult patients. METHODS: This is a quasi experimental research design with pre and post tests. The educational strategy involved technology enhanced simulation training with debriefing. The population included critical care respiratory therapists, residents, fellows and attending physicians at Rush University Medical Center. RESULT: Twenty six participants were included for data analysis; 12 respiratory therapists and 14 critical care physicians. There were almost an equal number of females (53.8%) and males (46.2%). The improvement was statistically significant in cognitive knowledge test score with p value .05; t (25) = 3.91. Rhetorical Analysis Of How To Tame A Wild Tongue Blah Blah Blah Title In How to Tame a Wild Tongue, Gloria Anzaldua uses rhetoric and personal anecdotes to convey and persuade her argument that Latin Americans are forced to relinquish their cultural heritage, and to conform to white society. The evidence she provides comes in a variety of platforms, both literal and rhetorical. Rhetorical, being through emotional, logical, and credible appeals through her text. Literal being explicitly stated, without any further analysis necessary. When she utilises the modes of appeals, they are subtle within the texts, which leads the reader to analyse as they read. She conveys ideas of internalised oppression, involuntarily imposed upon to follow strict social rules, the act of people erasing cultural heritage, as well as the importance of embracing personal heritage. Throughout her essay, Anzaldua s main structure is unlike the standard structure of an essay. Her thoughts are organised, and radical, which gives a more personal tone to her essay. This radical structure is witnessed within the introductory paragraphs, she begins her essay with an anecdote. The dentist is telling her in an authoritarian tone, we re going to have to control your tongue , which has a double meaning. One meaning within the anecdote, the dentist is an authority figure and is implying that her tongue is out of control and that it needs to be in control. Previously there was something that happened in her country. That something involves my two grandmas and three of my aunts. One of my grandmas were from my father s side and the aunts were also from my father s side. My grandma from that side is named Gem. Chrysanthemum was involved too. There were a fight and an argument. It began with a pretty hot and nice day. It was that way because my aunt took me to fun and pretty places. Where I got to try and see new things. It was a good day until I came to Gem s house. Chrysanthemum rode a motorcycle to the house I was staying at. She rode over to the house because she wanted to pick me up. Capitalism can be defined as an economic system in which employers hire workers to produce goods and services that will be marketed with the intention of making a profit (Bowles et al., 2005) (p. 74). The war went on for nearly two hundred and fifty years and spread across the Zhou Dynasty, which was divided into eight separate states. Daoist believed that war was a result of excessive desire, and only through modest desire will people and the state experience peace and unity. Daoist argued that desire and all actions must be natural, and we must return to nature to establish our balance. We must return to nature and to a time like the Golden Age, that came before the Zhou Empire and the warring states. The Golden Age refers to a more simple time in life, in which people had relied on agriculture in small villages with a trusted government that also followed the way, causing a balance and unity. Everything is not always black and white, in fact when it comes to policing there are a lot of grey areas. This is where discretion plays an important role. An officer will use discretion in almost every situation he or she encounters; however there are times where an officer s discretion is limited. There are many different factors that come in to play, some that are limiting to an officer s discretion, and some that increase an officer s discretion. The role that discretion plays in policing is important because the decisions that an officer makes affect the lives of the citizens, such as whether an individual should be arrested or not. Where you have discretion, you have discretion that is misused and you also have the need to control discretion. The role that discretion plays in policing is important because it affects each and every decision that a law enforcement officer makes. First, it is important to understand what discretion is. Discretion is defined as an official action by a criminal justice official based on that individual s judgment about the best course of action (Walker Katz, 2013, p. 351). This means that a law enforcement officer has the freedom to act on their own judgment. Both the 1980s and 1990s were filled with optimism and inspiration for women in the fight for equality. The Second wave feminism was a product of the civil right movement, as the women involved in it became disappointed with being seen as second class operators within the equality movement. These women are often refered to as the women s liberation movement. Some of the major issues that broadened the debate for the second wave femanism were sexuality, family, the workplace, social issues, and reproductive rights (Foster 72). The Third Wave Feminism challenged the second wave s essentialist definitions of femininity, which was often seen as one universal female identity and over emphasized the experiences of upper middle class white women, and began to introduce women of color and other cultures in developing nations (Drake, Heywood 49). This wave is also resposible for reclaiming sexuality (Drake, Heywood 53) Both movements brought about major changes that affected women s personal life at home, job opportunities, and culture changes, causing us to changed the way we talk and think. He clawed at his face, his nails leaving trails of blood in his cheeks. Then he fell clumsily to the ground, silent, still. Dead. In a puddle of red liquid. On looking closer, a passer by may have seen the deep scars in the man s face and the dried blood under his nails. Two people went walking by, a girl and her boyfriend; at first they thought it was a homeless person but as they got closer they realised there was something seriously wrong. When the girl saw his face the first thing she did was let out a tremendous scream, compared to her boyfriend, whose first reaction was to see if the man was still alive, Softly her boyfriend said He s dead , The girl broke down in tears whilst the boy reached for his phone. Ambulance please. And the police.

  • 36. Engineering Disasters And Utilitarianism Paper Name: Instructor: Course: Date: Engineering Disasters/Utilitarianism Paper One of the most controversial topics in the field of renewable energy is nuclear energy. In nineteen eighty six, the Chernobyl power plant in modern day Ukraine (formerly the USSR) had a major, level seven meltdown. A level seven nuclear disaster is the highest disaster possible in regards to nuclear event. This meltdown caused billions of tons of radioactive material to fly into the air that spread all across Europe (Xiang, Zhu). The most recent major nuclear accident happened in two thousand eleven, in Fukushima, Japan. The nuclear disaster in Fukushima occurred at fourteen forty six, Japanese time. The disaster occurred because a major magnitude nine earthquake struck North Eastern Japan and a fifteen meter high tsunami also struck the power plant (Grimston). There were eleven overall reactors that were effected by the earthquake and tsunami. Nine of the reactors cooling systems continued to work after the natural disasters occurred, but reactors one, two and three of the Fukushima Daiichi plant were terribly damaged and could not cool down the fission process. This is what lead to the one, two and three reactors to melt, causing the most detrimental damage to the global community (Grimston). Critics of the disasters say that Daiichi was not up to global nuclear safety standards because the wall the protected the plant was only stable against six meter tall tsunami waves, not the massive ... • 37. Stereotypes Of Tv Research Paper Television heavily relies upon stereotypes to provide a somewhat distorted and glamorized picture of a variety of occupations, with emphasis on those in the healthcare and legal fields; as a result, the real responsibilities of individuals in these occupations can be seriously misconstrued by television viewers and leave them with unrealistic expectations of what certain occupations actually entail. Although many television viewers are drawn to the legal field as a result of television s depictions of well dressed, glamorous lawyers who consistently dine out at fancy restaurants and win all of their cases in a record amount of time, as seen in shows like Suits, the real legal world consists of much more paperwork and routine tasks than is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, in the popular series House M.D., Gregory House becomes addicted to opiates and remains employed, with a large variety of duties in the hospital where he works, despite his increasingly erratic behavior towards his patients. In reality, such behavior would not be tolerated as lightly as it is on screen. Another example of inaccuracy in terms of how certain behavior would be tolerated in a residency program is in season 1 of Grey s Anatomy when Izzie intentionally worsens her patient and love interest Denny s condition in the hopes of getting him moved up on the heart transplant list. She is allowed to stay in the program despite breaching more than one very serious medical rule; in reality, though, it is likely that such behavior would have much harsher consequences, but for the purposes of the show, these same rules do not seem to apply. Another aspect of the medical profession that appears to be largely dramatized is that of specialization. Doctors on television seem to specialize to all fields, whereas real life doctors take many years of gaining experience in order to specialize in one area. An example of such a disparity between television and reality can be seen in House M.D., when House single handedly performs multiple operations on the same patient, including a brain biopsy and a gastroscopy. My aunt, who is a breast surgeon, spent many years completing her residency before finally deciding to specialize in the treatment of breast cancer and other breast related issues. When I was young and still considering becoming a doctor, she would constantly remind me, It s nothing like Grey s Anatomy! Grey s Anatomy is another example of a television show that seems to distort things in the medical profession. For example, many of the characters on the show, including Meredith Grey and Dr. Derek Shepherd, also referred to as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Analysis Of The Book Toward Perpetual Peace Other... In the book, Toward Perpetual Peace and Other Writings on politics, Peace and History , Immanuel Kant shows us that we can find purpose in a life that seems to lack purpose. By not presupposing individual purposiveness among humans, Kant discovers a natural purpose among all humanity. Through this fundamental idea, we can see that Kant discovers a universal history from a Cosmopolitan point of view. Cosmopolitanism centers around the idea that all of humanity belongs to a single community and is based on a mutual universal morality (among rational individuals). This essay will focus mainly on the arguments for purposiveness without purpose, specifically the arguments for purpose and their implications. Furthermore, the question this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the human being (as the only rational creature on earth), those natural predispositions aimed at the use of its reason are to be developed in full only in the species, but not in the individual. This can be interpreted in my perspective as genes. Since we are not immortal we must practice and perfect our skills, and by natures will, we pass our perfected genes on to the next generation so they may further perfect the skill in hopes of finding insight or enlightenment. If this is not to be nature s purpose for us, our natural capacities should be seen as without direction and useless. The Third Proposition states, Nature has willed that human beings produce everything that extends beyond the mechanical organization of their animal existence completely on their own, and that they shall not partake in any happiness or perfection other than that which they attain free of instinct and by means of their own reason (Kant, p. 5). Through this premise Kant is saying that nature takes nothing for granted. She is neither wasteful nor reckless with means to her goal. By giving women and men reason and free will, nature entails our purpose. Furthermore, nature did not purpose for us to live guided by instinct, as we lack instinctive knowledge to nurture ourselves and must learn everything ourselves without instruction, which also entails our purpose as reasoning things who must reason to survive and eventually ... Even in the current monetary crisis, the company continues to expand and the financial position shows that Coca cola has a strong cash position in compare to PepsiCo which the long term debt of PepsiCo is so high. Besides that, another internal weakness of PepsiCo is overdependence on Wal Mart. Wal Mart is the largest warehouse and supermarket. Unfortunately, more than 13% of PepsiCo business revenues come from Wal Mart store chain. Wal Mart has a significant buyer power and can easily dictate prices over PepsiCo leaving it with very small margins. On top, PepsiCo would lose 13% of its revenue and competitive advantage if the company loses Wal Mart. Therefore, it can be understand that PepsiCo depends too much on the US market. This is one of the weaknesses that PepsiCo needs to overcome as the external factors such as inflation can also affect the company if the company cannot be independent. • 40. Comparing Film Versions Of Baz Luhrmann s Romeo And Juliet Romeo and Juliet is one of the most tragic love stories ever written. It was written by William Shakespeare in 1594. There have been many remakes of the play such as Romeo and Juliet directed by Baz Luhrmann in 1996, Gnomeo and Juliet directed by Kelly Asbury in 2011, and many school plays reenacting it. The film version by Baz Luhrmann and the script by William Shakespeare can be compared using three scenes: the balcony scene, Tybalt s death scene, and the final suicide scene. The balcony scene in Act 2, scene 2 is a major scene both in the film and the script. In the script Juliet never comes down from her balcony, but in the film they are pool side together and make contact with each other. They eventually fall into the pool where they ... Before actually killing Tybalt, Romeo injures him very bad in the film, but not in the movie. Finally, Tybalt is killed with a gun in the film, whereas in the movie he is killed by a dagger. The final suicide scene in Act 5, scene 3 is the greatest scene in both the film and the script. In the script, Juliet s body was in the Capulet tomb, but in the film Juliet s body was in a church. There were lit candles surrounding Juliet s body and lighting up the church in the film. Paris was not there for Romeo to kill in the film like he was in the script. In the film, Juliet wakes up and sees Romeo drink the poison and die, but when she wakes up in the script he is already dead. Instead of using Romeo s dagger like in the script, Juliet kills herself with Romeo s gun in the film. As one can see, the film and the script can be compared using many different scenes. The play was more tragic than the film and had a very clear context. The film had more sound effects and visuals whereas in the script you had to imagine what everyone would look like and picture what all the scenes would be like. Energy Radiation And Its Effect On The Cells In the past, the applications of light, more specifically laser, in health and clinical applications have been focused on its destructive phototoxic effects. This effect is associated with high energy radiation, whereas low energy radiation has been found to induce a stimulating effect on the cells. The heat inducing laser tissue ablation effect used in surgery and the disinfectant antimicrobial effect of light therapy are distinctly different from the beneficial healing response stimulated by photobiomodulation (PBM). The nonionizing and low power lasers used in PBM are in wavelengths of visible (660 nm), near infrared (810 and 940 nm), and in some rare cases, mid infrared (1040, 2940, 9400 or 10400 nm)1. Imagine yourself, dear reader, transported to Shakespearian Verona, a bustling, peaceful city (aside from the occasional death or two), with its obligatory social classes going about agreeably (aside from the occasional brawl or two), and all people happy and successful (aside from the occasional poor wretch or two). The Verona in which Shakespeare s tragedy Romeo and Juliet takes place in is made sinister by the deadly consequences than ensue from its strict, unbending society. At any infraction of honor, men are pushed to duel to the death, or face the dreaded charge of cowardliness. Indeed, Tybalt, bound by honor to his family, is ready to slay Romeo even at Romeo s tiny misdemeanor of attending the Capulet party: What, dares the slave / Come hither covered with an antic face / To fleer and scorn at our solemnity? / Now, by the stock and honor of my kin / To strike him dead I hold it not a sin. (1. 5. 63 67) Soon after this scene, Tybalt duels with Mercutio in place of Romeo, and Mercutio falls dead. Obligated to avenge his friend s death, Romeo fights with Tybalt, and strikes him dead. This results in Romeo s banishment, which, of course, leads to the series of hasty plans that end in his and Juliet s deaths. Another reason that society is responsible for Romeo and Juliet s deaths lies in its unjust, poverty creating laws. When Romeo believes Juliet dead (she is actually asleep), he kills himself with poison, which in turn leads to Juliet s death when she sees him dead. However, In Mantua, the Italian city to which Romeo is banished, sale of poison is illegal. So, dear reader, do tell where he could possibly buy poison in a city whose laws prevent potion makers from making money.
