Phytonutrients (Lycopene)
Abstract
Phytonutrients are manufactured in pants where they are in turn utilized by humans to avoid various
health issues. The production of these chemicals is often prevalent among plants such as vegetables
and fruits. Phytonutrients may be classified into Terpenoids, Alkaloids and Phenolic depending on the
chemical structure, phytonutrients are categories into different classes which include; Resveratrol,
Epicatechin, Lycopene, and Lutein. Lycopene may be referred to as a bright red, fat soluble
phytonutrient that is often found in tomatoes and other fruits with red pigmentation. Lycopene is also
fundamental to the growth and development of plants as it plays an essential role in the biosynthesis of
various types of carotenoids. The chemical compound does this by interrupting any signals that are
likely to prolong or promote the generation of cancerous tumors. Lycopene can limit or slow down the
growth of prostate and breast cancer. This paper is aimed at highlighting the benefits of Lycopene to
both plants as well as humans in general.
Introduction
Also referred to as phytochemicals, phytonutrients include a range of chemicals, usually produced by
plants that are believed to have health benefits for both plant and animal species. Plants often utilize
these phytonutrients to promote their health in their growth and development. Some of the benefits
that plants are likely to derive from such chemicals include

Hero s, Anti Hero, And Making Order
Hero s, Anti Hero s, and Making Order In The World In Greece: Heracles and Dionysus, part 4 of the
Introduction to Mythology book, it gives a multitude of examples that describes both Heracles and
Dionysus as Hero s, Anti Hero s, as well as, helps portray how they make order in the world. Heracles
and Dionysus are illegitimate sons of the Greek god Zeus who both eventually achieve divine status,
albeit through two completely different paths. Heracles or more commonly known by the Romans as
Hercules, is one of the more recognizable hero s throughout history, his stories are filled with feats of
great strength, bravery, and cunning and is on full display in his series of twelve labors, where he
earns his divine status. On the other hand, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He did however; receive his divine status after his many journeys, namely completing his twelve
labors. The name Heracles is derived from his father s angry wife and goddesses name Hera. It was
meant to ward off her anger but to no avail. The stories of his existence will show how Hera
persecutes him throughout his journey, and brings anti hero moments to his legacy. These stories also
confirm the true hero status he earns by completing the twelve labors and becoming a symbol for
humanity. Heracles had a broad range of personalities. He was taught chariot driving, wrestling,
archery, fencing, and lyre playing at an early age. He famously donned the skin of the lion he killed at
Nemea, and frequently walked around with his symbolic large club that was noted throughout his
many journeys. He was the benefactor of the people and showed it by freeing Prometheus, becoming a
military patron to the ephebes, founding the Olympic games with his earnings, and being a guardian to
his community. He was powerful and at times a savage warrior. Sometimes he could be brutal and cut
off the ears, noses, and hands of people like he did to the extorting Minyans. Other times, he was what
writers like Aristophanes portrayed him to be; obsessed with food and an excessive drunk. At the very
least, he could be a violent man. He was known to have a bad temper but for the most part he used his
violent nature against things that

The Importance Of Violent Crime
The last distinction between Saratoga County and Bronx County is violent crime. The measuring for
the violent crimes is through the amount of reported violent crimes such as homicide, rape, robbery in
100,000 people. Violent crime can cause people afraid to exercise outside, elevate the stress level in
daily activities, and increase the prevalence of other related diseases ( Violent Crime Description ,
2017). The data from the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute ( Compare Counties ,
2017) addressed that, the amount of violent crime in New York City is 394, in the Bronx is 621 and in
Saratoga is 80. From the interpretation of these data, the information can be understood that the
amount of violent crime in Bronx County is higher than Saratoga County and overall New York City.
Saratoga County is even much lower than the overall New York City. When it is applied to knowledge,
a lower number of violent crime in a population, the healthier they will be. Consequently, Saratoga
County is healthier than Bronx County.
Where does the data come from and how fair are the measures in county health rankings? I will
review the measures of adult obesity, injury death, and adult smoking to answer these questions.
The first measure is adult obesity, which use BRFSS method. It is a continuing state level telephone
survey to the population who older than eighteen years old ( Adult Obesity , 2017). The BRFSS
method has a high quality of reliability and validity. Nevertheless,

The Necklace Analysis
One may wonder how she feels; as if it was all worth it to her now? When she sits to reflect on the
evening of January 18th which was filled with beautiful dresses and the succulent food, is she
remorseful? In the story The Necklace the main character, Mathilde loses her friend s necklace that
she assumed was made of diamonds. It goes into detail as to how her and her husband Loisel worked
tirelessly to replace the garment over the course of 10 years. The theme of this essay is to reveal who
is truly at fault for the downfall of Mathilde, comparing society s views, her husband s actions, the
involvement of Madame Forestier, and finally Mathilde herself. Just as our current society; many
individuals during Mathilde s era follow the trends of clothing, decorating, and even technology. In
the story, Maupassant elegantly describes the Antechambers hung with Oriental tapestry, illuminated
by tall bronze candelabra. (Maupassant 42) Equally important, Mathilde allowed for the influence and
ideas of what would make her appealing to the rest of society affect her everyday life. For example,
she frequently daydreamed of a life of grandeur in her head such as the Long reception halls hung
with ancient silk. (Maupassant 42) Moreover, she frequently would compare herself to those who were
better off financially allowing for her to feel unsatisfied and place a sense of false guilt on her
husband. The author made it clear as to what she valued by including She had no gowns, no

generation Japanese American. He had spent time living in the internment camps as a child during the
second world war. When he grew up, he became one of the founding members of the Black Panther
Party, and the only Asian American to have held a formal leadership position as Field Marshall . He
worked in the Black Panther party by arming them with weapons and training them in firearm usage.
He continued his work by helping lead the Third World Liberation Front strike at Berkeley in 1969.

The 1968 Chicano Blowouts set forth to make public, the concerns of the students and their parents, of
the quality of their education. They had goals for bilingual and bicultural educations, more Latino
teachers and administrators hired into the school systems, smaller class sizes, better facilities, and a
revision of the textbooks to include the history of Mexican Americans. This began with the outrage
towards Mexican Americans having the greatest number of high school dropout rates, and lowest
number of college attendance out of all the ethnic groups. The poor facilities and constant
undermining of the Mexican American students in the classroom environments by teachers, created an
atmosphere that was hostile to learning. These oppressive conditions, along with the inability to create
changes to better the students conditions, compelled students, activists and teachers to collaborate in
an effort to attain an equal footing in the world of education. Utilizing examples from the African
American Civil Rights Movement, such as boycotts and walkouts, these people decided the fastest
method to making better conditions was to first make the dilemma public in order to pressure the
school board into complying with their terms for educational reform. When their needs were not met,
the students took part in walkouts which were referred to as Blowouts.

Characters in A Perfect Day for Bananafish by J.D....
Characters in A Perfect Day for Bananafish by J.D. Salinger The characters in Salinger?s ?A Perfect
Day for Bananafish? seem to exist in opposite worlds. On one hand, Salinger creates Muriel to
represent materialism and superficiality and on the other hand, he creates Sybil to provide justification
of the child like innocence rarely found in society. Salinger?s main character, Seymour, is aware of the
superficiality expressed in Muriel?s world and chooses not to be apart of it. Seymour wants to be a
part of the simple immaterial world that Sybil represents. Nevertheless, Seymour find himself trapped
between two worlds unable to regain the one he desires. Therefore, Salinger bases ?A Perfect Day for
Bananafish? on Seymour?s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, when referring to how many tigers ran around the tree Sybil commented ?Only six!?(14),
similarly when asked how many bananas the banana fish were eating she exclaimed ?Six!?(16).
Firstly, Sybil?s use of the number ?six? suggests that she is repeating the phase phrase six figure but in
a simplified manner. Secondly, Sybil?s reference to the phrase six figure depicts her mothers
monopolizing influence on her. For instance, the bathing suit purchased by Sybil?s mother, is
composed of adult colors rather than the youthful ?blue? that Seymour expects to see. A similar idea is
expressed by Sybil?s mother when spreading suntan ?oil? on Sybil?s back in a downwards motion. If
yellow is then a adult color and symbolizes materialism, and ?downwards motion? symbolizes
oppression then Sybil?s mothers behavior may suggest that she is discouraging her daughter?s naive
behavior and attempting to force her to grow up prematurely. Sybil is most likely unaware of her
mother?s influence on her child like manner and therefore she will never fully appreciate her present
youth until it is lost. In contrast, Seymour is revived by Sybil?s innocence and near the end of the
story ?The young man suddenly picked up one of Sybil?s wet feet, which were drooping over the end
of the float, and kissed the arch?(17). In essence, Seymour was thanking her for verifying to him that
life can still be so simple. Seymour knows that if he was not

Analysis Of My Brother Sam Is Dead By Lincoln Collier
My Brother Sam Is Dead by Lincoln Collier and Christopher Collier is a novel about a boy named
Tim and his mother, Susannah Meeker, and his father, Eliphalet Life Meeker, and their journey
throughout war when their oldest son, Sam, goes off and fights in the American Revolution. The novel
starts off with Sam returning home after being away for a long time serving his country in the war and
college. His surprise homecoming was fun at first, until he and his father started getting into it because
of their different opinions on the war. Sam believes that Redding isn t free and that their king should
not rule their land because he lives 3000 miles away from Redding. He also believes that the king is
giving them unfair taxes that is making them richer that they already are. On the other hand, his father
disagrees completely. He thinks that everyone should obey the king and that his taxes aren t really that
bad. Later on, while doing chores, Sam confides in Tim his plan to steal their father s gun in order to
fight. Tim protests, but he can do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Labor Unions and Relevance
Labor Unions and Relevance In the United States, labor unions are seeing an increased amount of
controversy surrounding their helpfulness to the U.S. economy. Recently, comparisons between the
successes of a company such as Toyota versus Ford have brought the issue of unions to the forefront.
Many cite the cost Ford has due to the fact that the employees are unionized and receive more benefits
at a higher cost to the company. On the other hand, many people see great benefit for Americans who
are protected under a union contract; however, it is possible to create a work environment that is
successful, safe, fair, and beneficial to employees without being a union shop. In 1953, approximately
half of the workers in the United States were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The following meeting essentially turned into a gripe festival in which the employee complained
about the management, fellow employees, the workload, and the lack of recognition for a job well
done. Fortunately, this issue went no further. Unfortunately for this organization, most filed
complaints are more closely related to people being upset about being rightly disciplined than the
company truly committing acts contrary to the negotiated contract. The actual relevance that unions
have in today s society is shrinking, not only in numbers or employee attitudes, but politically as well.
In the Journal of Labor Research, Hurd and Pinnock (2004) dissect the reasons for the shrinking affect
unions have in politics. They say that after George W. Bush became president, his administration
worked to the disband National Partnership Council, which was set in place to promote positive
relationships with federal unions. The result of the actions from the Bush administration is a labor
movement that is less unified and therefore likely to be less effective on the political front (Hurd and
Pinnock, 2004). In order for corporations to remain competitive in the business market, they will need
to attract the talent. The talent will go to the companies that give them the best

The Use of Semiotics in Coco Cola s Advertising Essay
The term Semiotics refers to the study of signs and symbols, the relationship between written or
spoken signs and of the meanings that are created. The essay will first of all try to give some
definition a review of the main terminology used in the study of Semiotics and will then apply these to
a series of texts, relating to advertising for Coca Cola.
The basics of Semiotics were laid down by a Swiss linguist, Ferdinand De Saussure (1857 1913). He
used the word to describe a new science which he saw as a science, which studies the life of signs at
the heart of social life [Saussure cited in Underwood] He considered that a sign had two essential
elements: the signifier and the signified. A signifier is any material thing that ... Show more content on

(Underwood Cultsock) Other terms relevant here are Icon signs whose signifiers bear a close
resemblance to the thing referred to (Underwood), for example a road sign showing a man at work can
be considered an iconic sign and the term index an index is a sign whose signifier we have learned to
associate with a particular signified (Underwood)
Coco Cola advertisement seemed a good choice of texts for analysis because of the nature of Coca
Cola s approach to advertising. The famous logo was created in 1885 and this together with the iconic
shapes of the bottle and corporate colours have not really changed since then. The shape of the bottle
and logo colouring, instantly identifies it as Coco Cola. The advertisement analysed below is taken
Vogue Magazine (Issue November 2007) and is for Diet Coke which was a new venture for the
company in 1982 and within two years Coke had become the top low calorie soft drink in the world.
Although Coke replaced the traditional name of Coca Cola , the red is still used and silver replaces the
white The traditional iconic and immediately recognizable bottle shape has been kept. At the basic
level of denotation the bottle and the words Coke and written text represent a beverage and the bottle
can be considered as an index of drink. It can also be regarded as iconic in that the shape if the bottle
and distinctive logo are immediately

INTRODUCTION Melbourne s Federation Square was a Victorian Government initiative that was
announced in 1996, with support from Melbourne City Council and the Commonwealth Government.
The initial projected cost of the structure was estimated at $110 million, with a completion date of
December 2000 (Matters of Public Interest 2003). The final estimated cost was over $470 million,
with the official opening occurring in October 2002, even though the construction was not complete
(Misiak 2003) (ABC 2003). Being such a high profile, exposed, arduous project, there were many
factors that contributed to the various shortfalls over the 6 year timeframe. This report aims to identify
key knowledge areas within project management and discuss improvements that could have been
made to streamline the task and improve overall continuity.

The Red Umbrella
In addition to stereotyping other cultures, low context and high context cultures was also a topic
addressed in the book and in class. As it is represented in The Joy Luck Club, The Red Umbrella also
shows a difference or clash between low context and high context cultures. There can be difficulties
when one from a high context culture begins to live in a low context culture setting. These difficulties
are addressed in The Red Umbrella and The Joy Luck Club. The first example of a transition from a
high context to a low context culture is addressed in The Red Umbrella. Lucia s mother never allowed
Lucia to cut her hair short, and she respected this rule. In the book she provides this example when her
adoptive mother, Mrs. Baxter, offered to cut her hair. Lucia states She ... Show more content on

cut my hair...short. Really short (Gonzalez 193). The two quotes presented are ideal examples of an
individual, from a high context culture, being raised by one of a low context culture. Mrs. Baxter,
unlike Lucia s mother, cut Lucia s hair for her instead of denying her wishes. A second example of
transitioning from a high context culture to a low context culture includes the specific bonds between
a mother and her daughter. The reading, titled High context Cultures and Low Context Cultures,
addressed in class, explains the distinct differences between the two cultures. When presenting
information about high context cultures, the reading informs The bonds among people are very strong

Insanity Defense Expectation
Feeling ill? Commit a crime, you are protected!
Criminal verdicts are always being watched by our community because citizens seek protection by
law enforcement. Although the criminal justice system has established a foundation which is expected
to promote public safety and punishment of criminals, they do not always live up to that capacity. One
aspect of this is the insanity defense expectation. Verdicts are revealed after analyzations of criminals
intent to commit crimes are determined. If it is proven that a person had no knowledge or sanity in
committing a crime or breaking a law, that person will not be punished nor charged as a criminal. I
strongly disagree with this method of decisions by our judicial system. No leeway should be available

Literacy and competency are essential to these criminal investigations. Any false allegations,
misjudgment or misunderstanding of the case can set a criminal free within seconds. The layman
claims that sane men are escaping responsibility for their crimes on the plea of insanity by reason of
the venality of experts, the strong and corrupt partisanship of counsel for the refense, and the
incompetency of the judge and the prosecuting attorney (Insanity and Criminal Responsibility). There
are many individuals who are involved in the sanctions of these cases and although they maintain
proper credibility, the cases will prosper according to their beliefs and findings. It is understood that
mental health professionals, physicians and psychologists stand ground in front of the jury with hopes
of proving the individual sane or insane. The insanity defense traces its roots back to the 1843
assassination attempt on British Prime Minister Robert Peel. In this case, a psychotic individual
named Daniel M Naghten intentionally and with premeditation killed an assistant to a prime minister
of England because he believed he was being persecuted. The defendant plead insanity at the trial. The
prosecution attempted to prove sanity by illustrating M Nagten s behavior in planning and executing
the attack. Several physicians testified as to the defendant s even though they never examined the
defendant; their conclusions were based on hearing the testimony and observing the defendant s
behavior. After the judge gave weight to the physician s opinion, the prosecution agreed to stop the
case and the defendant was declared insane (The John Hincklney Trial). In other words, insanity cases
are in the hands of professionals that are able to evaluate, analyze and conclude based on behavior,
excluding mental illness. Although these processes change drastically over time, the basis of the cases
will always be

The laws currently in the books are even being used to squeeze more money out of the government

President Bush, requires all federal agencies and recipients of federal funds to provide translation

Necrophilia Murder
Necrophilia and its Relation to Murder Necrophilia is defined as, recurrent sexually arousing fantasies,
sexual urges, or behaviors involving intercourse with dead bodies (Colman, 2009) Necrophilia in the
past has been something that presented itself as an opportunity because of where someone worked.
Professions that had people dealing with corpses on a daily basis lead to a form of comfort around the
bodies, then when a person became curious they would start to experiment with the bodies. There are
rumors that this was popular with the embalmers of ancient Egypt and that it became necessary that
the bodies of highly born women were not embalmed immediately after death but allowed to become
slightly putrid, as a deterrent. (Blakemore, Jennett, 2001) Krafft Ebing suggested that the attraction
was to a human form absolutely devoid of will, incapable of giving resistance. (Blakemore, Jennett,

Necrophilic homicide, killing someone in order to have sex with his or her corpse. (Rathus, 2005) Ted
Bundy as an example has been described as an organized, necrophilic murderer. (Moes, 1991) Lastly,
Necrophilic fantasy is thinking about having sex with a corpse but never acting on those thoughts.
(Rathus, 2005) Necrophilic fantasies have been considered therapeutically to result from childhood
trauma. Sometimes this can result from a humiliation, often from the mother, in regards to the human
body. (Lemma, 2013) It leads to again, the conclusion that the base of necrophilia is to have a subject
that is incapable of resistance or of rejection. Referring back to Ted Bundy, his relationship with his
mother and father was very poor. His father was absent and his mother has been called cold. (Moes,

The White House Restaurant
2.1.1 The Environment Wellington city has a great number of restaurants that offer variety of service
and food. So it is highly competitive and many restaurants cut down the prices of the food and
services to gain a number of customer base. In spite of the price cutting war The White house
restaurant is taking an opposite strategy (Niche differentiation) to fight back with superior value.
However, people tend to spend less money for dining out due to the economic concerns, so they often
choose places where do better deal for them. As a result the White house restaurant struggles to
increase a number of customers. Also there are not many customers come to The White house
restaurant regularly, most people come only for special occasions such as birthday or anniversaries.
Bartol et al (2011, p.76) states that customers are important in determining organization success or
failure. For example, the most famous fine dining restaurant in Wellington called Logan Brown offers
affordable lunch to respond the customer needs. The White House restaurant must be aware of
competitor s strategies and customer s needs more deeply. 2.1.2 The Culture The owner freely
communicates with employees and vice versa, so there is a solid communication in the organisation.
The owner often comes to work in the kitchen, and he communicates with chefs and front house staff
very friendly but also professionally. He always checks qualities of food and sometime shows chefs

Arguments For Christian Faith
Krishna Tikkani
THL 1000 H03
3 October 2017
Reasonable Christian Faith
Christian faith lies between the two extremes of fideism and rationalism, that is, between faith with no
reason and reason with no faith. Scripture, the main source of Christian tradition, provides us with
information about God and what it means to be Christian. An analysis of works and arguments by
early church fathers offers tools to engage scripture, including levels of belief and defining faith in the
context of society and moderation. Specifically, Augustine and McCabe present arguments concerning
faith in the validity of scripture and proofs that a belief in Christianity is reasonable and true.
Therefore, a valid assertion can be made that reason plays an important and necessary role in Christian
faith.
In his essay, Faith in Things Unseen , Augustine argues against the idea that it is irrational to have a
belief in things that one cannot see. He discusses how it is normal and legitimate to hold beliefs in the
unseen, and that the human mind by default will believe things that are not able to be seen. For
example, Augustine uses the idea that most people will trust in the goodwill of their friends, even
though goodwill cannot be seen. Furthermore, goodwill and the trust in that goodwill must come
before two people can even be friends. Therefore, it is legitimate to have faith in Christian belief as it
can be supported by the same reason as friendship, or so Augustine asserts.
Along with that faith

Comparing Religion And Science From A Sociological Viewpoint
Question:1. Compare and contrast religion with science from a sociological viewpoint. Is science just
another form of religion, with people like physicist Stephen Hawking among its high priests or
mullah? Are science and religions simply both similar social constructions? In your response to this
question, specifically consider both how irrational social factors influence everything, and the
relationship between faith and proof. First of all, There are a number of debates about the similarities
and differences between religion with science from aspects of sociological. Then, in my opinion, is not
just the science with people who are the physicist or high priests and mullah shaped to religion.
Religion can be forming of culture, identity, relationship, practice, power and so on. Also, in the social
constructions, science and religions are two different territories to illustrate contemporary society. And
then, there are various unreasonable social factors influence science, religions and everything. Lastly, I
think that faith and proof are mutual, reasonable, independent. According to read the resources, there
are not authoritative and qualities definition of religions. Only, religion is typically viewed as
organised, communal, traditional and in decline . (Arvanitakis, James. Sociologic.) The understanding
of religions are more complexity and diversity and different people and groups have the different
meaning. Also, the science refers to organised,

Huck Finn Racism
Is Huckleberry Finn racist? Huckleberry Finn or Huck Finn for short has had plenty of controversy
since the book was first published. Many people believe that because of the words Twain used in the
book many people blatantly believe that the book Huck Finn is racist. Since the book was First
Published people have been trying to ban and not allow people to read Huck Finn. Many people
believe that Huck Finn should not be taught in school simply because of the tone and words Twain
decided to use while writing the book while others, on the contrary, believe that Huck Finn had a
powerful message that spoke against racism and slavery. Falling from grace ( Twain 35) This quote
can mean many different things, but how most people see it, it can show how much this book affected
racism and hate in the U.S.A it really portrays what life was like during the time period that Huck Finn
was set in. Why should Huck Finn be taught in school and why is there so much controversy
surrounding a novel. The video we watched in class gave us the story of a mother and a daughter who
decided that because their views and closed mindedness was more important than allowing students to
learn what life was like and why it is so important to never repeat those mistakes again, all because
they are much too feeble minded to realize the impact of Huck Finn. Huck Finn as a work of literature
is very important in that Twain

Using a language to communicate is one of the main forms of connecting and conversing with other
humans. Every human speaks a language and every language is unique. Languages are so unique that
the ways in which some of their words are sounded and pronounced vary compared to other
languages. However some of the words of one language may have been borrowed from the words of
another language. As Bucholtz, M.(2000) states English will continue to shape the youth styles of
other cultures and the process of cultural and linguistic borrowing moves in [two] directions...Asia [is]

The Practice Of Trade Before Gatt Essay
2.1 Practice of trade before GATT
The history of GATT discussions and the present WTO are the birth right of commitments that the
countries have voluntarily agreed with each other. To appreciate the foundation of the present
blueprint of import protection across WTO member countries in addition to products and industries
within those countries, it is important to turn to the past. Western Europe after the World War I was
caught up with economic instability and disparity of the economic recovery following the World War
II was more evident in the context of international trade relations. Economic reconstruction after the
World War I was deficient in institutional machinery to make possible the reduction of trade barriers
that has arisen during the war and had become well established thereafter. The European countries had
faced political weaknesses and it was reflected in trade policies which was evident with the proposal
of equality of trade conditions in draft League of Nations was discarded in favour of a the provision
for the equitable treatment. The World Economic Conference held in 1927 found it indispensible to
call upon the governments to do away with maritime controls on trade, which incorporated, licensing
requirements, import quotas and foreign exchange controls. After over a decade of its formation, the
League of Nations had nevertheless had yet to sponsor any negotiations on liberalizing world trade
from high tariffs, and the commencement of the depression

How Are Dominate Women Presented in A View from the...
The plays, A Streetcar Named Desire and A View from the Bridge, focus on the theme of domination
of the female characters through the writer s habit of literacy techniques such as imagery and realism
to add the typical tragedy that follows in both plays where the main character dies at the end and each
playwright uses their own method to manipulate their point of view or opinion of the play s plot to the
audience members. In Williams A Streetcar Named Desire, its form of a Southern Gothic enables the
playwright to base the play on sexual identity and judgement and the female characters all experience
their struggle to liberate from their current position. For example, Blanche is notably known for her
situation The polka dot which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unlike typical tragedies, Miller focuses the play on the working class to express their common
attributes to their society as were the Greek tragedies that focused on royalty and the society in the
play left women feeling subjugated by the men. For instance, when Beatrice asks Eddie whether you
gonna keep in the house all her life? The assertive tone of the rhetorical question shows the support
that Catherine has from Beatrice and reflects her struggle to be free from Eddie s grip. The usage of
the pathos evokes pity towards the audience as they would be pitiful towards Catherine. Furthermore,
Catherine is another female in A View from the Bridge who is subjugated by Eddie. In the beginning
of act one, Eddie mentions Catherine s new dress, saying that heads are turnin like windmills. The
systolic device enables the playwright to create the epitome of sexual attraction to the audience
members and shows the dominance in Eddie s office. The presentation of the domination in A
Streetcar Named Desire is shown by the aggressive and dominant tone that is inflicted to the female
characters by the men. In scene two, Stanley asks Stella How about my supper, huh? The tone created
by the inquiry reflects the perception of gender roles in the American Society. Another example of the
aggressive and dominant tone shown in A Streetcar Named Desire is where Stanley authorizes Stella
to Turn it off [the radio]! The frustration that is being built up

Jean Watson Atheism Analysis
The purpose of the article is to persuade the readers that atheism can be considered as a source of
morality and spirituality. Since the Nation Framework of Religious Education (RE) has approved to
include atheism in the curriculum of primary and secondary school levels, Watson argues that children
and young people can learn from atheistic beliefs and values for their spiritual and moral
development. Watson begins her (article) with refuting religious objections of the Association of
Christian Teachers (ACT) in introducing atheism to the curriculum of RE. One of the main objections
of ACT was the threat atheism can impose on religion. On the other hand, Watson points out that the
ACT would not feel threatened or worried, if they were confident ... Show more content on

She goes on to say that both the theist and atheist take a leap of faith, explaining that it takes as much
faith for a non believer to believe that there is no God at all, as a believer who believes in God. With
that being stated, Watson further opposes Rowan Williams statement against atheism wherein he
claims that atheism only exists to contradict and challenge the whole of theism ( atheism of
negotiation ). Watson explains that atheism is not merely of the opposite extreme of theism. Atheism
as well, has its source for spiritual and moral development (atheism of hope). It acquires its own
atheistic belief system, consisting of the fundamentals the Enlightenment, Rationalism, Communism,
Existentialism and Humanism. Furthermore, Watson mentions the writings of Jean Paul Sartre and
again Russell, in explaining that man sets out in life on his own, without being dictated by a being or
force beyond him and his capacity. This, however, comes with a moral responsibility and inevitable
consequences, in that as put by Watson atheist must accept personal responsibility...to work out the
good life in a God free world. Russel also explains that in order to instill morality, one has to acquire
intelligence, self control and

The measuring for the violent crimes is through the amount of reported violent crimes such as homicide, rape, robbery in 100,000 people. Violent crime can cause people afraid to exercise outside, elevate the stress level in daily activities, and increase the prevalence of other related diseases ( Violent Crime Description , 2017). The data from the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute ( Compare Counties , 2017) addressed that, the amount of violent crime in New York City is 394, in the Bronx is 621 and in Saratoga is 80. From the interpretation of these data, the information can be understood that the amount of violent crime in Bronx County is higher than Saratoga County and overall New York City. Saratoga County is even much lower than the overall New York City. When it is applied to knowledge, a lower number of violent crime in a population, the healthier they will be. When she sits to reflect on the evening of January 18th which was filled with beautiful dresses and the succulent food, is she remorseful? In the story The Necklace the main character, Mathilde loses her friend s necklace that she assumed was made of diamonds. It goes into detail as to how her and her husband Loisel worked tirelessly to replace the garment over the course of 10 years. The theme of this essay is to reveal who is truly at fault for the downfall of Mathilde, comparing society s views, her husband s actions, the involvement of Madame Forestier, and finally Mathilde herself. Just as our current society; many individuals during Mathilde s era follow the trends of clothing, decorating, and even technology. In the story, Maupassant elegantly describes the Antechambers hung with Oriental tapestry, illuminated by tall bronze candelabra. This began with the outrage towards Mexican Americans having the greatest number of high school dropout rates, and lowest number of college attendance out of all the ethnic groups. The poor facilities and constant undermining of the Mexican American students in the classroom environments by teachers, created an atmosphere that was hostile to learning. These oppressive conditions, along with the inability to create changes to better the students conditions, compelled students, activists and teachers to collaborate in an effort to attain an equal footing in the world of education. Secondly, Sybil?s reference to the phrase six figure depicts her mothers monopolizing influence on her. For instance, the bathing suit purchased by Sybil?s mother, is composed of adult colors rather than the youthful ?blue? that Seymour expects to see. A similar idea is expressed by Sybil?s mother when spreading suntan ?oil? on Sybil?s back in a downwards motion. There are many individuals who are involved in the sanctions of these cases and although they maintain proper credibility, the cases will prosper according to their beliefs and findings. It is understood that mental health professionals, physicians and psychologists stand ground in front of the jury with hopes of proving the individual sane or insane. The insanity defense traces its roots back to the 1843 assassination attempt on British Prime Minister Robert Peel. In this case, a psychotic individual named Daniel M Naghten intentionally and with premeditation killed an assistant to a prime minister of England because he believed he was being persecuted. The defendant plead insanity at the trial. The prosecution attempted to prove sanity by illustrating M Nagten s behavior in planning and executing the attack. Several physicians testified as to the defendant s even though they never examined the defendant; their conclusions were based on hearing the testimony and observing the defendant s behavior. After the judge gave weight to the physician s opinion, the prosecution agreed to stop the case and the defendant was declared insane (The John Hincklney Trial). • 25. Arguments For Christian Faith Krishna Tikkani THL 1000 H03 3 October 2017 Reasonable Christian Faith Christian faith lies between the two extremes of fideism and rationalism, that is, between faith with no reason and reason with no faith. Scripture, the main source of Christian tradition, provides us with information about God and what it means to be Christian. An analysis of works and arguments by early church fathers offers tools to engage scripture, including levels of belief and defining faith in the context of society and moderation. Specifically, Augustine and McCabe present arguments concerning faith in the validity of scripture and proofs that a belief in Christianity is reasonable and true. Therefore, a valid assertion can be made that reason plays an important and necessary role in Christian faith. In his essay, Faith in Things Unseen , Augustine argues against the idea that it is irrational to have a belief in things that one cannot see. He discusses how it is normal and legitimate to hold beliefs in the unseen, and that the human mind by default will believe things that are not able to be seen. For example, Augustine uses the idea that most people will trust in the goodwill of their friends, even though goodwill cannot be seen. Furthermore, goodwill and the trust in that goodwill must come before two people can even be friends. Therefore, it is legitimate to have faith in Christian belief as it can be supported by the same reason as friendship, or so Augustine asserts. Along with that faith ... Is science just another form of religion, with people like physicist Stephen Hawking among its high priests or mullah? Are science and religions simply both similar social constructions? In your response to this question, specifically consider both how irrational social factors influence everything, and the relationship between faith and proof. First of all, There are a number of debates about the similarities and differences between religion with science from aspects of sociological. Then, in my opinion, is not just the science with people who are the physicist or high priests and mullah shaped to religion. Religion can be forming of culture, identity, relationship, practice, power and so on. Also, in the social constructions, science and religions are two different territories to illustrate contemporary society. And then, there are various unreasonable social factors influence science, religions and everything. Lastly, I think that faith and proof are mutual, reasonable, independent. According to read the resources, there are not authoritative and qualities definition of religions. Only, religion is typically viewed as organised, communal, traditional and in decline . The Practice Of Trade Before Gatt Essay 2.1 Practice of trade before GATT The history of GATT discussions and the present WTO are the birth right of commitments that the countries have voluntarily agreed with each other. To appreciate the foundation of the present blueprint of import protection across WTO member countries in addition to products and industries within those countries, it is important to turn to the past. Western Europe after the World War I was caught up with economic instability and disparity of the economic recovery following the World War II was more evident in the context of international trade relations. The plays, A Streetcar Named Desire and A View from the Bridge, focus on the theme of domination of the female characters through the writer s habit of literacy techniques such as imagery and realism to add the typical tragedy that follows in both plays where the main character dies at the end and each playwright uses their own method to manipulate their point of view or opinion of the play s plot to the audience members. Unlike typical tragedies, Miller focuses the play on the working class to express their common attributes to their society as were the Greek tragedies that focused on royalty and the society in the play left women feeling subjugated by the men. For instance, when Beatrice asks Eddie whether you gonna keep in the house all her life? The assertive tone of the rhetorical question shows the support that Catherine has from Beatrice and reflects her struggle to be free from Eddie s grip. The usage of the pathos evokes pity towards the audience as they would be pitiful towards Catherine. Furthermore, Catherine is another female in A View from the Bridge who is subjugated by Eddie. In the beginning of act one, Eddie mentions Catherine s new dress, saying that heads are turnin like windmills. The systolic device enables the playwright to create the epitome of sexual attraction to the audience members and shows the dominance in Eddie s office. The presentation of the domination in A Streetcar Named Desire is shown by the aggressive and dominant tone that is inflicted to the female characters by the men. In scene two, Stanley asks Stella How about my supper, huh? The tone created by the inquiry reflects the perception of gender roles in the American Society. Another example of the aggressive and dominant tone shown in A Streetcar Named Desire is where Stanley authorizes Stella to Turn it off [the radio]! The frustration that is being built up ... Since the Nation Framework of Religious Education (RE) has approved to include atheism in the curriculum of primary and secondary school levels, Watson argues that children and young people can learn from atheistic beliefs and values for their spiritual and moral development. Watson begins her (article) with refuting religious objections of the Association of Christian Teachers (ACT) in introducing atheism to the curriculum of RE. One of the main objections of ACT was the threat atheism can impose on religion. On the other hand, Watson points out that the ACT would not feel threatened or worried, if they were confident ... She goes on to say that both the theist and atheist take a leap of faith, explaining that it takes as much faith for a non believer to believe that there is no God at all, as a believer who believes in God. With that being stated, Watson further opposes Rowan Williams statement against atheism wherein he claims that atheism only exists to contradict and challenge the whole of theism ( atheism of negotiation ). Watson explains that atheism is not merely of the opposite extreme of theism. Atheism as well, has its source for spiritual and moral development (atheism of hope). It acquires its own atheistic belief system, consisting of the fundamentals the Enlightenment, Rationalism, Communism, Existentialism and Humanism. Furthermore, Watson mentions the writings of Jean Paul Sartre and again Russell, in explaining that man sets out in life on his own, without being dictated by a being or force beyond him and his capacity. This, however, comes with a moral responsibility and inevitable consequences, in that as put by Watson atheist must accept personal responsibility...to work out the good life in a God free world.
