SUBUNIT:Expressing Daily Routines
Age group 9-10 years old
Time: 45 minutes
Resources- Materials:
Alarm clock,teeth brush,
toothpaste,board, videos to express daily
routines ,flash cards ,swatter for finding
the right word,mobile phones and Qr
code reader application and extra
worksheets for homework.
Recycledlanguage: wake up, at seven
o’clock, go to bed, have lunch,arrive
home etc.
New language: aftermidnight,kill the
words,qrcode reader,Ilove technology,Iuse
technology….
Objectives:
Pupils should be able to:
1. Remember telling the time both in digital and analog.
2. Learn the parts of the day ..Morning, afternoon….
3. Grab the message of the video which is about the topic
4. express daily routines using time.
5. comprehend basic classroom language
6. follow the teachers instructions
7. Learn how to cooperate in group work activities.

Presentation
First of all the teacher comes to the class with an alarm clock, a teeth
brush and a toothpaste for an ice breaker.He mimes the activities by
using teeth brush ,alarm clock etc. and emphasizes daily routines.
Then he shows a funny video about daily routines.While watching the
video students try to make sentences as in the video.
After that he hungs up the flash cards on the board and teach the most
common daily routines.

Activity 1: Fly Swatter Game ( Kill The Words)
The teacher introduces the activity by acting first and divides
classroom two and the students stand in a line and compete one by
one. .Both group have a swatter to hit the words first and
correctly .The group who has most correct answer win the game.It
can be used not only Daily Routines but also the other topics.

Activity 2: ICT Treasure Hunt
The teacher finds 4 mobile phones or tablets before the lesson.He
hungs some papers all around the school which is consist of QR
Codes. Before the lesson he has to download QR code reader
application in order to do activity.When teacher calls out all the four
groups start to run to find the 1st Paper and answer the questions
using their mobile phones and then go on the 2nd paper and so on.The
first group finish and write the answers correctly win the game.
