UNIT: NUMBERS -1
SUBUNIT: Expressing numbers in
different patterns and concepts
Age group 9-10 years old
Time: 60 minutes
Resources- Materials:
Board, powerpoint, videos about teaching
numbers to 100,numbers puzzle, numbers
bingo, I have who has talking cards and
extra worksheets for homework.
Recycledlanguage: Numbers students
have already learnt. Number’s (1-20 and
30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100), How
many..?, Are there..? I have 6 who has 10
New language: Number’supto100

Objectives:
Pupils should be able to:
1. identify and use numbers up to 100
2. count odd and even patterns of numbers
3. show their physical response according to the video
4. express numbers in different concepts
5. comprehend basic classroom language
6. follow the teachers instructions
7. Learn how to cooperate both in pair and group work
activities.
Time Procedure

Presentation
For the first stage the teacher write numbers up to 10 and then skip a
number to reflect on odd and even numbers.
Then he teaches the numbers up to 20.He goes on thirty ,forty,fifty
and so on.
Then teacher uses a video, numbers song. Students sing the song and
do the motions as in the video. Whole class and the teacher sing the
song two times. The song used as a warm up and review for the
numbers pupils have already learnt.

Activities
Activity 1: Counting the objects quickly
The teacher introduces the activity with a booklet on the screen and
ask the questions with “how many “ phrase and elicit the answers.It
can be used like a game and the FIRST person to shout out the right
answer most is the winner.
Activity 2: Pupils solve a puzzle in a race.
The teacher calls out 8 students and separate them in two groups 4
and 4.He gives both groups a numbers puzzle . In the puzzle there are
numbers with different concepts..Then he starts the activity and keeps
the time.The first group to finish is the winner.
Activity 3 : Number Concepts Activity
First the teacher shows an example about the activity then he gives
each student a number concept activity paper.Each student choose a
number and try to draw and show different ways to make that
number.
Activity 4: I have…….who has ? speaking activity
The students sit in a circle and share the cards.The teacher starts
the activity with starter card.I will continue until all the cards
have been matched.
Example : I have Seven ( 7) who has Nine (9)? …the student who
has Nine goes on…
I have Nine (9) who has Two (2)….etc.
Activity 5 : BINGO for numbers activity
The teacher says they are playing a bingo game.He gives each student
a bingo paper and explain the activity.Since this game is famous all
over the world they don’t have difficulty in understanding the
instructions.The FIRST student who gets a straight line Says BINGO.

Evaluation:
This lesson planned with the interpersonal and cooperative concerns.
Teacher aims to promote meaningful communication around the
class. Teacher also aims to improve social skills, trust-building,
leadership, decision making, conflict management and team/group
soul. Evaluation is ongoing and takes place throughout the lesson by
observation of the pupils while they are involved in the activities.
Also a worksheet is given students to practice what they learn in the
lesson.
