SUBUNIT: Expressing family members
using family tree.
Age group 9-10 years old
Time: 60 minutes
Resources- Materials:
Board, powerpoint games , videos about
finger family song,family members’
pictures , colored pencils,
glue,scissors,Plickers web
application ,sticks
Recycledlanguage: Introducing family
members..She is my mother…This is my
sister etc..Who is she?...
New language: The other familymembers:
Uncle,aunt,cousin..are introduced
Objectives:
Pupils will be able to:
1. make family trees
2. identify and talk about family members
3. use mobile application
4. answer the questions about family members
5. sing finger family song
6. follow the teachers instructions
Time Procedure

Presentation
For the first stage the teacher chooses 5 students in order to sing the
finger family song.
Those students hold the sticks which represent family members and
come to the board and sing the song.

Activity 1: Family Members Game
The teacher shows powerpoint presentation game about the topic.In
this game ,the students look at the family tree and complete the
sentences using the correct family members.

Activity 2: Preparing a family tree
The students cut the pictures of different family members and paste
them on the family tree and color them.
After finishing the family trees volunteer students introduce their
family to their friends in front of the board by showing their family
trees.
Activity 3: A mobile Phone Application :PLICKERS
The teachers prepares a web classroom before the lesson and
questions about the topic.Before the starting the activity a half size
paper is given to students .On these papers there are codes.The
students look at the questions on the screen and show the code
according to the correct answer.The teacher scans their answers via a
mobile application.The results are shown on the screen.

Evaluation:
This lesson planned with the interpersonal and cooperative concerns.
Teacher aims to promote meaningful communication around the
class. Teacher also aims to improve social skills, trust-building,
leadership, decision making, conflict management and team/group
soul. Evaluation is ongoing and takes place throughout the lesson by
observation of the pupils while they are involved in the activities.
Also a worksheet is given students to practice what they learn in the
lesson.
