The document discusses networking fundamentals, including defining a network as two or more connected computers that share resources. It describes different types of networks like peer-to-peer and client-server, as well as common network topologies like star, ring, bus, and mesh. The key components needed to connect a computer to a network are also outlined, such as a network interface card, cabling/connection options, hubs, bridges, routers, and switches. Advantages and disadvantages of different network types and topologies are provided.

Information Technology has changed our life everywhere. In our school too, it is playing very important role. From students' admission to taking a TC. Performance of the students, staff performance, Managing staff details etc has become easier. Sitting at one place anybody can get the information. The PCs are connected through LAN. Updated and advanced machines are used for teaching and learning environment. In our vision we promise that the minimization of use of the paper through sending all the parental circulars through mails very soon. This will reduce the use of approx 60000 paper. Which has a clear vision to save the environment and become environment friendly. In administration it is already started because we all staff members are connected through mail and we get message and circulars through mail only. We hope that through the technology our working style will made a significant role as playing as leader in this area.

Low-Performing Students- Why They Fall Behind and How to Help Them Succeed EduSkills OECD
by Andreas Schleicher, Director for Education and Skills, OECD Low-performing Students: Why they Fall Behind and How to Help them Succeed examines low performance at school by looking at low performers’ family background, education career and attitudes towards school. The report also analyses the school practices and educational policies that are more strongly associated with poor student performance. Most important, the evidence provided in the report reveals what policy makers, educators, parents and students themselves can do to tackle low performance and succeed in school.

IT INFRASTRUCTURE OVERVIEW
IT infrastructure - includes the hardware, software, and telecommunications equipment that, when combined, provide the underlying foundation to support the organization’s goalsClient/server networks, the Internet, and n-tier infrastructures are central to an organization’s IT infrastructureThe three primary components of any IT infrastructure include:
Client/server networks
Internet
N-tier infrastructures
Computer Networks:Arguably, the greatest advancement in technology and communication over the past 20 years has been the development and advancement of the “computer network”. From emailing a friend to on-line bill paying to downloading data off the Internet to e-commerce, networking has made our world much smaller and changed the way we communicate forever.
What is Network: a system containing any combination of computers, computer terminals, printers, audio or visual display devices, or telephones interconnected by telecommunication equipment or cables: used to transmit or receive information.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

9. Topologies - Structure
Star
– All the network devices connected to a central computer which
is often used as the file server
Ring
– Each of the devices on the network is connected in a ring or a
loop. (Each machine has a connection to the one previous and
the one after it in the loop)
Bus
– Each of the devices is connected directly to a main
communications line, called a bus
MESH
– All the computers connected to each other
Click here to view animations on topologies
CJR 2008 9
11. Star: Advantages and Disadvantages
Advantages of a Star
– If one cable fails the other stations are not affected
– Consistent performance even under heavy use
– Reliable market proven system
– No problems with collisions of data since each station
has its own cable to the server
– Easy to add new stations without disrupting the network
Disadvantages of a Star
– May be costly to install because of the cable lengths
required
CJR 2008 11
13. Bus: Advantages and Disadvantages
Advantages of a Bus
– Easy and inexpensive to install as it requires the
least amount of cable of the network types
– Easy to add more stations without disrupting
the network
Disadvantages of a Bus
– The whole network goes down if the main cable
fails at any point
– Cable failure is difficult to isolate
– Network performance degrades under a heavy
load
– Information can be transmitted in either
CJR 2008 direction and occasionally there is data collision. 13
15. Ring: Advantages and Disadvantages
Advantages of a Ring
– No dependence on a central computer or file server and
each node controls communication to and from itself
– Transmission around the network is one way only
– High data transmission rates are possible
Disadvantages of a Ring
– If one node breaks down transmission is disrupted
CJR 2008 15
17. Mesh: Advantages and Disadvantages
Advantages of a MESH
– Communication is not disrupted
– Alternative routes to node points/machines
– Security – packages can arrive/be sent via many
different routes
– Backup – with multiple connections it is easier to
distribute the data in case of disaster
Disadvantages of a MESH
– Cost
• of cables required to link machines together
• Of machines – similar spec machines required at
each location to be able to take over
– Difficult to install and reconfigure
CJR 2008 17
