What is Emotional Intelligence?
• EQ = ability to recognize emotions in yourself and
others and use this to manage your behavior and
relationships
• It is NOT:
– IQ
– Being “touchy/feely”
– Merely nice to know information
– A single skill

workplace
• EQ accounts for 58% of performance in all types of
jobs
