This document is a project report on just-in-time (JIT) inventory management submitted by students to their professor. The report includes an introduction to JIT, the theory behind it, advantages and disadvantages, a case study of Harley Davidson's implementation of JIT, benefits and limitations. JIT aims to reduce waste by receiving inventory and producing goods just as they are needed rather than maintaining large stockpiles. The case study found Harley Davidson was able to decrease inventory 75% and increase productivity after implementing JIT. However, disruptions in the supply chain can shut down production if deliveries are not on time.
